So honestly tempted to make a "chain meets hero" linked universe fanfic. instead of meeting wild they meet the hero before him, the one from 10,000 years ago. I want it to be ganon (no I'm not obsessed with rehydrated ganon i SWEAR)

I think it would be fun to see their reactions lol. maybe make the malice curse too powerful to be bound to a human after so many cycles so it took on the pig spider (??) form instead so ganon grew up a normal gerudo king.

I want to give him the funky green arm and so much knowledge on ancient sheikah technology because he has to be unhinged. He could fix wild. . . . but he won't because making him worse with technology is so much better and exactly what his zelda would do.

Maybe seeing a post twilight princess pre botw hyrule and actually friendly guardians helping ganon instead or blasting on sight.

Maybe ganons reaction to the heros(some) not liking him, or the guardians that helped him so much and he helped make, turned against him in wilds hyrule, feeling guilt about it. Or the fact that he's forgotten as a hero

I have so many ideas for it but not the grammar to pull this off lol

Hey there! Lol I was tempted by the “possession” story, but how can I resist asking about “The Third Weirdest Day of the Hero of Legend’s Life”???? I’d love to read a snippet or know more about it!

Thanks for the ask Gin! This is theoretically going to be my attempt at a chain meets fic, probably from Legend's POV though Four and Hyrule are also main characters. Some of the Links are freaked out, some of them are excited, but Legend's just finding the whole situation totally ridiculous. Or something.

“How many of you are there?”

“A question for a question?” Legend suggested hopefully. The kid’s eyes narrowed and the tip of his sword dug just a little deeper into Legend's throat. “Okay, okay, fine,” Legend said hurriedly. “We’re lost. Maybe you can tell us where we are.”

“How many?”

“Seems a little unfair that you get to ask all the questions.”

“I’m not the one about to get their throat cut.” They stared at each other. I really should be feeling at least a little bit nervous, Legend thought.

- Their relationship verges on forbidden. Mortals and gods aren’t technically supposed to fall in love. So they’re forced to keep it a secret. They do…okay at it. Everyone can tell something is going on by the lovey dovey eyes and the way they talk to each other. (People guessing what’s going on eventually leads to Link’s framing and subsequent imprisonment — at least in part. They get jealous of him being the goddess’ favorite.)

- They’re both love adventure so whenever they sneak off to be together you can find them somewhere outside. From exploring Faron Woods to hiking up Death Mountain and getting lost in Lanayru Mines, they do it all. But their favorite thing is to get on Crimson and fly together

- They’re both naturally drawn to the sky. Link told Hylia once that he dreamt of being able to live there. She promised him that one day they would

- Link composed the Ballad of the Goddess for Hylia as a way to show her how much he loved her. And she composed the Song of the Hero for him.

- Before his imprisonment, they were actually skirting the topic of marriage. Neither really knew how to make it work but they were willing to try

- They shared their first kiss in a tree in the Faron Woods. A Kikwi spying nearby got embarrassed and squealed so loud it scared the crap out of them. They fell out of the tree

- And on a more angsty note…although Hylia withdrew during Link’s imprisonment (because she knew she couldn’t save him and it hurt too much to watch him going through so much) she was always looking out for him. She would lessen his pain whenever she could and frequently watched over him while he slept.

- To end with some fluff…Hylia has a mischievous, playful streak and enjoys hiding things for Link to find. It’s their own, personal little game. She hides things, he finds them all and teases her about concealing them in places like pots and grass.

i keep thinking about the chain (minus legend) being turned into wolves from this post of mine so i figured why not ramble about it

the base idea: everyone except legend is turned into wolves. legend is a rabbit. you can imagine the issues this causes

-definitely inspired by Wolfie’s Pack by AmayasAngel and Wolf Family by Breanna!! they’re very good go read them now <3

-the wolves can understand each other. wolves and rabbits cannot

-they eventually manage to figure out who’s who through some trial and error

-in the beginning, the Chain have to constantly reign in their new instincts around Legend (small, brightly-coloured prey animal moving quickly = hunting mode activated). as i’m sure you can imagine, this does nothing to help Legend’s poor heart or issues

-Twilight + Sky, the two most familiar with Legend’s rabbit form, are extremely protective of him the whole time they’re transformed

-Wind + Four are pup/juvenile sized, with Wild + Hyrule slightly bigger than them

-Legend has about a hundred heart attacks during this time; it does not help that half the Chain are very eager to play, with him or with each other. either way his nerves are through the roof

-Twilight is in charge, as he’s the one most familiar with this form. this also means he has the (dubious) pleasure of teaching everyone else - sans Legend - how to be a wolf

-Legend mostly chills with Sky or hides from the more... excitable members of the Chain (these are not mutually exclusive)

-Sky takes to grooming him to help both their nerves

-you know how rabbits grooming each other can be a sign of submission + boosts their ego? yeah. Legend gets an ego boost for a while there and it allows him to be confident enough to engage with the others for a bit

-they take turns grooming him one time (he gets massively ego-drunk) and he binkies for a good five minutes in the middle of camp while everyone else watches in amusement (and the younger ones join in)

-the curse eventually wears off or gets removed and everyone has to take a while to adjust to being hylian again. that being said, being able to communicate properly with everyone is a relief

-there is some teasing on both sides but the Chain remembers quite clearly how terrified Legend was (and how they were, too, when they realized it was him and when they couldn’t understand him) and so they keep it to a minimum. Legend definitely gives as much as he gets, though
