AU Reds Poster: Alicent joins Rhaenrya as her advisor and wife after escaping her father's influence.
She escapes Kings Landing with Helaena and her grandchildren just in time. Unfortunately, her father has already sunk his teeth into her two sons who are ready to fight for their right to the iron throne.

there is something so good about kit not really having a choice to be elora's protector (although she has accepted it) and jade having so many different choices she could make but she always chooses to be kit's protector.

I was rewatching s2 last night, and ohhh man mk looks over mei so much it's not even funny. times mei has been ignored:
maybe you need to really listen! (during the blindfold ep)
mk just? grabs stuff she's using out of her hands all the time? (video game ep)
maybe you shouldn't skip the tutorials? (video game ep again)
the way he addresses her in dumpling destruction and then immediately pushes her aside for tang
i honestly remember it lowkey kinda bothering me on first watch but now it's REALLY egregious on rewatch. are you scared? I'm so scared. do you WANT to end up like shadowpeach MK
2x03 is so rude because the whole fucking episode they're like "MK you don't listen" and it's so true. He doesn't. Pigsy literally points it out again at the end of 4x14 with the whole sun screen bit:
Pigsy: "Tch, don't bother, I've been telling him that for years but he LITERALLY never listens."
Sun Wukong: "Yep! That's how we role."
-
THEY'RE SO FUCKING RUDE. "That's how we role." We. We????? Wukong and MK???? Like WHATEVER. FINE. (("I told you going against the Jade Emperor was a bad idea, but no. Wukong doesn't listen to ANYONE! He just does whatever he wants" Like shut up. Shut up!))
MK gets so stuck in his own head ("You're all stuck up in your own head! None of this is your fault!" +1 to the MK ignoring Mei counter from 4x08) and I think that really contributes to his s2 scramble to get more powerful.
LIKE:
MK: "Stop? Now? Never! I just have to try harder. It's just like the Monkey King said! *laughs manically* I just need to get stronger!"
(2x06 Game On)
VS
MK: "Why didn't he just stop, right here? He was already so much stronger than anyone ever needed to be!"
Macaque: "Wukong didn't think so, he always felt he had to be stronger—more immortal."
(4x11 A Lifetime of Mistakes)
-
(Bonus thing between eps 2x03 and 2x06, look at 0:42 in this video for MK hearing Mei but not listening to her. Because of course that's what he would do. *head in my hands .png*)
The terrible s2 choices both Wukong and MK make in relation to their friends is just absolutely delicious after 4x11. Like, OH. This has been a lifelong pattern of Wukong's—paranoia is one of his fatal flaws (paired with his terrible communication and self-sacrificial nature), and while he had the power to stop LBD before he still feel's the need to go after the Samadhi Fire to stop her now, and to protect MK.
Hold on look at this parallel that I don't know what to do with:
MK: "Ugh, I can't do it!"
Mei: "It's alright MK—you did it before, you'll do it again!"
Sandy: "Yeah! Maybe it's like Monkey King said: the power will come when you need it most!"
(3x04 The Winning Side)
-
MK: "What! But you said the Samadhi fire was the only thing that could stop her!"
Sun Wukong: "I KNOW WHAT I SAID! But I've beaten her before I'll- I'll do it again! Mei was right—I need to stop dragging you into my fights, all of you."
(3x10 The Samadhi Fire)
-
Wukong and MK's reach for power inspires a lot of fear in me! It does! Because, well, MK's current reach for power is going to lead him to his Monkey Form, and uh:
Like I'm scared. I'm scared!
"All doomed to play a role in tearing this world apart!" ; "This is Azure's utopia, and this barren wasteland is the price he paid to build it." ; "I'd do anything for my friends! But at the cost of the world?" "I'm sorry pal, ain't NOTHIN' worth that price!"

Sky thinks little birds are adorable, so you can’t tell me Danny wouldn’t tell him about crows. How they’re one of his world’s more intelligent animals, how they can mimic human speech, how a flock of them is called a murder and a duo is called an attempted murder. Their usual behaviors and how they’ll tell other crowd if you’re a good person. Twilight pokes his head in the room and went “They do what now?” when he overheard that. Then Danny would tell them about ravens, and the differences between them and crows.
And I also think it’d be funny for the Links to realize “Holy shit, that bird just actually spoke” when they flock around Danny and say “hi” to him. To make it twice as good, crows and ravens usually attack the hero in some games, so I can imagine the birds not letting them close to Danny.

I want a scene that parellels the moment Jake is saved by Eywa. Neytiri doesn't shoot her bow because the seeds are following Jake. Just follow me here, what if she finds out Quaritch is still alive because Spider confesses he saved him from the wreckage. He couldn't let the man die even after everything and she reacts terribly. Horrified he runs, seeking safety through the forest he knows so well and Eywa[in all her mysterious glory] sends a storm of seeds and covers Spider. For the only force Neytiri has ever listened to is her.

Sometimes RWBY annoys me
Ozpin was a tragedy. The terrifyingly young headmaster of arguably the most famous of the Huntsman academies, shoved into the place he was in solely because of Ozma.
People conflate them, but they're not actually the same person. Ozpin hates himself, even after death... but there's no real evidence that Ozma does.
He's horrified that he's taking over Oscar because that was never meant to happen, he hoped to be the last just as much as previous Ozcarnations did... maybe even more, considering where he was and the protectiveness he feels for his students. Oscar, given a few years, could so easily be a Beacon student, after all.
He ran, he locked himself away and yet that still wasn't enough to stop the merge. OZPIN did not ask Jinn the question shown and we don't even know just when he was given the particular information that that even happened. Should he have shared it? Yes, maybe. But then again, he'd only known team RWBY and what's left of team JNPR for about a year when they all jumped him for not telling them and we do have canon proof that when he trusts people [Lionheart and Ironwood] they can and do betray that trust for their own reasons.
What's worst? He's fighting a war he no more signed up for than Oscar did, yet everybody seems very set on blaming him, as the last Ozcarnation, for the sins of them all.
Ozpin might be the voice, but that's merely because he was the last. EVERY incarnation of Ozma is a tragedy, it's one of the shittiest reincarnation methods in fiction. 'You'll never be alone', no, but the process gives the new host exactly no choice in the matter.
Basically... Oscar is a victim, but so was Oz. And it's quite likely he might not even have been in double digits when it happened.

Trying to drag real-world ethics into the Batverse is a bad faith argument when absolutely nothing in the Batverse has any ethical or moral standing in the real world.
Real world evils that claim death tolls:
- billionaires
- cops
- vigilanteism
- copaganda (crime-fighting as a genre is libertarian copaganda)
- prison industrial complex
- war on drugs
- child soldiers
- policing entities without democratic or civic transparency or oversight
- finding acceptable targets for your personal trauma and visiting what you believe is justified violence on them
But all of that is fine and good and acceptable as conceits of the universe, EXCEPT the question of "should this rich white guy who appoints himself the protector of the innocent due to the failures of the legal system, actually do something about this guy who keeps killing because of the failure of the legal system?" THAT is somehow above challenge or question. Never mind that turning the concept of "legal incompetence", meant to protect the most vulnerable population in a society, into a loophole for fictional mass murderers is violent ableism and copaganda. Forget taking a deep dive into why exactly killing is bad, or how far a value system can go before it becomes self-serving, or storytelling imperatives or any of that. The only reason any of us could ever take Jason's side (re: the Joker) is that we, in real-life, think that "bad guys should die". Instead of the fact that because nothing works as it should in the Batverse, the Joker's continued existence actively cheapens any moral code that allows it.
You can take whatever side you want to, but get off that horse and actually engage with the question, or fuck off with the dudebros who think "killing a serial killer makes you as bad as a serial killer" has any actual ethical basis.

victim pretends to be Dark's friends to manipulate them and take advantage of their loneliness, thus keeping them loyal as they work towards a common goal
YESSS. victim is very good at manipulating people and dark is in a situation that is PERFECT for that. Lonely, freshly hurting from a betrayal, wounded, and in dire need of help...
Victim knows better than anyone that it's the perfect setup for someone to fall right into line when given a little bit of aid.

the thing about them eating jackie is that it's like. well. she's already dead and they have no food. if i was them i can't say that i wouldn't! and if you read stories of real world instances of cannibalism like the flight 571 crash the show is inspired by, that was their real life logic. they had no choice; it was eat or die. they even talked about it and realised that if they died they would want to get eaten to sustain the other survivors. so i get it when the yellowjackets showrunners say that eating someone is not the most transgressive thing that happens in the show because in their circumstances it's very forgivable. there are real life people who did this and still live in society because we understand

⋆ More doodles of...her!! I’m still trying to figure out some aspects of her design, like her Defense mode. Also, she has a name now thanks to @/popping-tropics! Her name is Mellori! ⋆
⋆ This name was too cute not to go with. Raven is truly a papa bird now. ⋆

Zelda struggled so hard to get her sealing/light powers to awaken in botw and only could do it when she saw Link about to die for her and made sure he was taken to the shrine of resurrection before she made the journey to the lost woods alone to entrust the master sword to the deku tree so it was ready for link when the time came. Making the journey back to hyrule castle and facing Ganon alone knowing she would be stuck there for so long while Link came back from the brink
And in totk she struggled to master her time power to go back to her time and resorted to desperate measures to ensure Link would get the master sword in the future and save everyone despite knowing she would lose herself in the process
I don't have anything special to say I just can't stop thinking about this
