Wjat would each colorlook like in scjool as both a teacher and student?

An interesting question for sure. Wjile I cannot say for sure how each color would act witj too much precision, the arcjetypes allow me to make some general guesses. In fact, I’m going to provide a model. Let’s see:

White: The White teacher is very by-the-book. They are orderly, they have a few different types of lessons they will teach (multimedia, diction, going through the textbook along with the class etc), and they always finish the program in time, usually with a few extra weeks, in which there will be a recap of everything done that year. They try to come in touch with their classes and like their students to be engaged, but do not appreciate fooling around. Can be quite strict as they are, after all, the supreme authority of the class, and their word is law.

The White student is basically every teacher’s model student. They volunteer often, always do their work, try to engage their fellow students in activities, and are always attentive. If the class they are inserted in is welcoming and they themselves are a bit open-minded about sharing some of the work (without being totally exploited as can sometimes happen, unfortunately), they will form a strong bond with most of the class. The White student, though, can also be an elitist snob who prides themselves in their good grades and sees the others as lesser.

The Blue teacher is the one that, unfortunately, many parents will complain about. The Blue teacher, for one, does not rigorously follow the book. They have their own method of teaching, which is tinkered with constantly. Those in the class who are willing to follow them are going to be treated to a lot of ideas and facts that one is usually scarce to come across, but there will always be students who, for some reason or another, pay little heed to the teacher (I’m talking about those who do not care, not those with learning disabilities as the “model” Blue teacher will gladly help them out) and then end up blaming their method, which brings us back to the complaining parents (a math teacher in my high school was like this. He is a very smart man who guides his students through reasoning, rather than only spitting out formulae. He also introduces them to probability and statistics, which my high school math program did not cover. Needless to say, his students that followed him all did exceedingly well in math competitions).

The Blue student is in a difficult situation, because for some teachers he will be their favorite student, while others will invariably classify them as a “problem student”. They can be a bit aloof as they often end up wondering about concepts explained at the beginning of the lesson, or flip through the schoolbook to a totally unrelated chapter. The Blue student does study, alright, and is very disciplined, but doesn’t always study that which is requested of them. They are the most likely to derail an entire lesson by asking a very complex question which the teacher answers by going on a very long tirade. The Blue student does this not necessarily to lose time, but because they are simply interested in other aspects of the subject.

Ok wow this is turning out to be quite long. Yikes.

The Black teacher can go two different ways. The Black in them, so the individualism, can either be in respect to the students (”yeah I’m payed to teach but I don’t care about them so I will just do what I want), or in respect to the system (”I don’t care what people tell me, I’m going to get this class through and I’m going to teach them things they need to survive in this world”.) As I’ve done with the other teachers so far, I will illustrate the positive incarnation.

As mentioned prior, the Black teacher sees the class as an assembly of individuals, first and foremost, that need to be taught their own importance in a world that will often ask them to forgo it. They will teach their own subject, yes, but they will not refrain from giving what they believe is important advice to their students. And also, while they teach that they each need to learn to love themselves, they also should respect the individuality of others. It would be counterintuitive, they say, to teach the answer to a problem without addressing the root of the problem itself. Ultimately the Black teacher may appear a bit smug but they have good intentions at heart.

The Black student can be tricky. Yes, they want to learn what they think is useful, but you cannot start with the assumption that they will respect you merely because you are their teacher. You must earn that respect. This does not mean that the Black student will necessarily actively disrespect or make fun of the teacher, simply that if they want to be held in a position of high esteem, they must prove themselves worthy of that position. In relation to their classmates, the Black student finds it difficult to relate to everyone and prefers to have a group of close but very good friends.

The Red teacher is very dependent on the class. When all goes well, they form good bonds with each and every student, and manage to get the entire class to communicate better with each other. For the Red teacher, it is all about the creative ideas that can be put forth, individually or together, and they adapt their teachings based on what seems to resonate and be received better by the class. Many of their classes can be classified as a brainstorm session, and they actively pursue more creative ways of teaching, such as historical reenactment or logistical problems. To an external viewer the Red teacher is a bit eccentric but most of the time their class loves them.

If the teacher does not demonstrate some flexibility or creativity in their teaching, the Red student will most likely become a problem for them. The Red student is there not just to learn facts, but to have meaningful experiences, not only with their classmates, which will deliver, most of the time, but with the teacher themselves. They have a hard time focusing for long on things they consider dull, but whenever they are called upon to do a task they try to find a creative way to improve it. The teacher that manages to capture the Red student’s creativity and channel it in the right direction will find a great admirer in them.

Onto the Green teacher. Interestingly, they fall somewhere in the middle of fostering the class as a whole and paying attention to the individuals that make it up. The Green teacher is one that pays close attention to the “ecosystem” of the class, observing the various interactions and keeping notes. Their lessons are geared towards helping the class grow, and so if they can they bring up topics that are relevant to a conversation they have overheard the students mention. In addition, the Green teacher is very focused on having all the students contribute to the discussion, and is adept at giving those who would receive less time more opportunities to express themselves. They are difficult to anger but they also do not hesitate to correct harmful behavior.

The Green student is a relatively quiet one, but they are quite adept at following the mood of the class. That said, they give their own emotions the priority. They are obedient and make an effort to follow the teacher’s lessons and advice as long as they believe that the teacher is acting well, and will side with the teacher against other classmates if they attack them in what they believe is an unfair way. That said, they do not appreciate teachers who care little for the class as a whole and will find themselves relying more on their classmates rather than the teacher.

Wooo! That was quite the long ask. Sorry about that, but there you go. This is one model that can be made, obviously each color can provide several.
