Episode 27: Little Moments
Throughout his life, Paul had experienced many moments that reinforced his decision to ignore his sexuality. Most only lasted a few seconds--
Teacher: “Boys don't play with dolls.”
Students: "Paul is always staring at Deshawn." "I know, what a weirdo!"
-–but the weight of these moments made them feel like they lasted forever. As time passed, society progressed and attitudes changed. In high school, some of his friends, including his crush Deshawn, had even come out as gay. Paul thought he might finally be able to be himself. Yet even when in the company of those who should have been accepting, those little moments continued adding up.
Deshawn: “I wouldn't date a bisexual guy." Wesley: “They don't know what they want.” Danica: “I think they're just in denial.”
The seconds turned to minutes and minutes to hours until those small moments added up to a lifetime. A lifetime of avoiding the truth, of pretending. A lifetime of feeling like an outsider, a liar, an empty shell.
A lifetime of loneliness. It wasn’t that he wasn’t attracted to women. He knew he wasn’t gay, and for a while it seemed like the easiest solution to feeling unaccepted was to put his attraction to men aside, to store it away in a part of his brain that he would simply choose not to access.
He thought he could continue to date women and pretend like that side of him didn’t exist. He could still have everything he wanted–a devoted partner to have children with–without having to face the potential of rejection from the rest of society. But it wasn’t true. He could marry a woman that he truly loved, but he would still feel rejected, lonely, and dishonest as long as he continued hiding who he was.
Paul knew that something had to change. As scary as it was, he couldn’t live the life he dreamed of if he remained in the closet. Paul looked at himself in the mirror and took a deep breath before finally speaking aloud the words he’d been holding in his whole life. “I’m bisexual.” It felt better than he could have imagined.
Now he just needed the courage to say it to everyone else.

This is very low effort, but I wanted to make some yearbook pages for the graduating class. There were more students but I just picked the mains and a few side characters that showed in up the background.
