Ok, an update. If you recall, (or not, there’s some new people here since then 👀) I was up to Crown of Midnight! It took me ages to start this one, not gonna lie, ToG was so damn slow and CoM doesn’t feel much better. Anyway, enjoy my running thoughts for the first half 🥲

Still waiting for Nehemia to die, both because I was surprised she survived this far and because the audiobook sample I clicked on to see if I could stand the narrators voice, was an excerpt where they were carrying her body 🫠

Honestly I’m glad I tried the audiobook out while I was doing other things, otherwise this would be impossible to get through. The only reason I haven’t DNF’d is because everyone in my life is constantly yelling at me that it gets better 😂🤞🏼

I just finished Crown of Midnight and oh man… the last 100 pages of every SJM book is always a wild ride. and I know getting too attached to any of her male love interests too quickly is a mistake, but Chaol… 🥺😭💕

and of course I don’t have book 3 in my possession, because Costco only had tog and com… might have to go to target tmr. but the last time I was there they only had one copy and it was beat tf up 🥲

should I go to Heir of Fire next or to the prequel Assassins Blade? I know people have Opinions about the order like with Star Wars lol

Chaol at the end realising that Celena was aelin. That last chapter that’s only 4 pages long was the most shocking part of the book tbh

Some TOG hot takes now that I’ve finished the series:

1) Aedion and Chaol are my favorite male characters

2) top 3 ships are Chaol x Yrene, Nesryn x Sartaq, and Elide x Lorcan

3) The Southern Continent was infinitely more interesting than any other setting, and it’s a damn shame we only got 1 book dedicated to it/featuring it.

4) Tower of Dawn fucking rocks what is wrong with y’all

Ok, Crown of Midnight, part two of my running thoughts (it’s a fun time up in my brain, honestly, I’m surprised you haven’t all run screaming yet).

I’m so…unenthused still. I mean Celaena is fun, don’t get me wrong, but I just don’t care about anyone or any of this yet? When does that start happening? WHERE IS ROWAN WHITETHORN? Just as a measure, yk, I’m told that’s when things start looking up 🫠

Well…here goes nothing.

Ok Nehemia’s finally dead, sad times I guess but she turned pretty judgey at the end there so…eh.
