He was sure it was about two hours since they arrived. Three buildings, about thirty floors. All completely dark, cold, and quiet. He had been waiting for some time to move, but to pass the time, he listened to the radio and to his friends. Their arguments can sometimes be refreshing to hear before a mission.
“I tell you, this is the last time we fall off a building together,” Vanoss said, sounding exasperated on his end.
Delirious scoffed. “As if, we’ll be doing a bit more before we finally hit the ground. Who knows, maybe someone might even catch us.”
“Who the fuck would catch you two?” Nogla asked. “If anything, we’ll take pity and let you fall. Maybe then—”
“Shut up, it’s almost about time,” Wildcat said. “Brian, how’s it going?”
“Three on each building,” Terroriser said, his voice low and concentrated. “Vanoss and Delirious can do their end in about five minutes. Wildcat, you can follow after, and I’ll stay here alongside Marcel.”
“Marcel, you good?” Wildcat asked.
He had his eyes closed, nodding to himself as he sat in the quiet stairwell. “Yeah, I’m good. Just tell me when, Brian, and I’ll do my part whenever these assholes get close.”
“They’re entering B and A, two are moving toward C,” said Terroriser. He turned off the radio, and Marcel knew that Terroriser was making sure these people had an idea that there were others in the vicinity. When he came back online, he was laughing to himself. “C is heading your way, Wildcat. D is good for now, and E is secure.”
Marcel was E. He tapped his fingers on his gun, waiting for the moment he could join the fun. Vanoss and Delirious’ lines were gone, possibly on the hunt, including Wildcat after a moment.
The reason for all of this was to take out an enemy group. They tried hitting their snipers a few times, and managed to shoot Kryoz in the leg. He lived, but it didn’t go well with the others who disliked having one of their own complaining about their wound. SMii7y stayed behind, wanting to make sure no one comes after him.
Marcel was ready to take out the one who had done this, and Wildcat managed to smoke out the group. He didn’t care about the details.
His leg bounced, and he let out a deep sigh.
“Uh, Marcel?” Terroriser said.
“What?”
“There’s a helicopter.”
Marcel glanced behind him at the heavy door leading to the roof. It wasn’t all that windy out, and he had a thermal to help him in the dark.
“E or D?” Marcel asked, getting up from where he was sitting.
“E.”
He couldn’t hold back a smirk. “Finally,” he said under his breath. He checked his ammo, and said into his comm, “I’ll take care of it.”
He pushed the door open and took a shaky breath at the cold air of the night brushing against him. It was stronger than he would’ve thought, but he needed a moment to get into position. He did look for the helicopter, and spotted it moving toward D and C. He cursed under his breath and told Terroriser.
“Nogla killed the first round below you,” said Terroriser. “Wildcat...well, you know how he is, he’s almost done too.”
“And Vanoss and Delirious?” Marcel asked, looking through his scope at the helicopter that was getting further away.
“I’m sure they’re having fun.”
He sighed, and right before he pulled the trigger, he heard the slightest sound coming from behind him. He turned, taking out a pistol from his holster and setting his sniper down. He moved toward the wall, then swiftly stepped out and found a man sitting on the roof, he had a case on him, and noticed Marcel too late.
Marcel sneered. “You’re not sitting on the roof while all your team is dying below you.” He fired his gun a few times, making sure the bullets went through until the body was twitching.
“They dropped off a guy on the roof,” Marcel into his comm as he turned, then frowned as he stared in the distance at building A to see a parachute. “Don’t tell me that’s—”
Terroriser chuckled. “Vanoss is done on his end.”
Marcel rushed back to his sniper, got back into position, then he fired a few times at soldiers appearing in his scope. It seemed they were trying to take out Vanoss’ chute.
Another appeared on building B from a broken window, the glass fell to the ground as a body tumbled after.
“Delirious is finished,” Terroriser said.
Marcel kept taking out more, counting a few until he reached twelve and the lights blinked out one after the other. “Are we done?” he asked.
“Wildcat is securing D and C.”
Marcel left the roof and headed down the stairs. It took time, and he heard the slightest sound at the bottom. He took his pistol out and shot at another gunman at the bottom. He pushed the door open, called Nogla that they were heading out toward the rendezvous point.
“You think that was good?” Nogla asked.
Marcel shrugged as he took his sniper a part and set it inside a silver case. “For now, if anything they might send more, but we did good for tonight.”
Nogla started the car. “At least they know we’re not amateurs.”
“We never were,” said Marcel as he shoved the case into a hidden compartment in the back of the vehicle. Then he got into the passenger seat of the vehicle while Nogla drove along the dark street toward two people standing on the side, smiling and joking around.
“Get in,” said Nogla.
“Wildcat said he’ll head back with Terroriser,” Vanoss said as he and Delirious climbed into the vehicle.
While they drove off, Marcel looked back at the dark building, and the lights slowly revealed the bodies lying on the broken, bloodied, pavement.

nsfw 29 with daithi de wildcat? I understand if you’re not too warmed up to the ship though
alpha / beta / omega au
daithi de wildcat drabble
29. I know you’re really mad right now because you smell so much of anger, but your scent is so good that even pissed off you still smell addictive.
warning: nsfw
Everyone knew that Daithi De Nogla was the worst when it came to keeping secrets.
At least, that’s what everyone thought. That’s why Tyler was dead terrified that Nogla would start blabbing his mouth like always when they spent a drunken night together. It was Tyler’s rut that lead to them tangled with one another in Tyler’s bedroom, his fingers clamped over Nogla’s mouth to silence the loud man’s noises.
Daithi, Scott, Marcel and Anthony were all staying in Tyler’s house for the week that included the convention and it had been organised that Scott and Marcel would share the guest bedroom, Anthony was on a mattress in the games room and Nogla could cram his long, lanky body onto the living room couch.
Except Daithi didn’t fall asleep on that couch. When Tyler was hit with his rut, having been too busy to even notice that the fever he was feeling was the warning of his pre rut. He was thrown into the heat of it midgame of Apex Legends and had relented when Daithi had thrown his arm around his waist and lead him upstairs to his own bedroom.
The alpha was hard and hot by the time Daithi was helping him to his bed and the idea of being left alone was one he simply would not accept. The beta’s warm scent of fresh bread was teasing the arousal in his lower stomach and he simply didn’t have the inhibitions to stop himself from burying his face in the side of the man’s neck.
The blush on his pale cheeks had been far too endearing and when he couldn’t vocalise his questions and confusions, Tyler had simply solved the situation by pressing his mouth. Within seconds he was dragging Daithi onto the bed, trapping him against the mattress and rutting against the heat between his legs. He fucked him, growling and groaning against his throat while muffling the loudmouth’s pleasure-driven rambling with his fingers.
That had been the first incident; one that left Tyler on edge for a whole month as he feared the moment that Daithi would spill the beans and tell one or several of their friends exactly what had happened.
Yet, to his surprise and immense relief, it never happened. They played their games like usual, teased and fucked with one another like they always had and pretended that not a single thing had changed.
Then it happened again. All they’d needed was a little alcohol and a hotel room to themselves. And that time, Tyler made it his mission to find out just how loud Daithi could get. He fucked him on the couch, biting marks into his shoulders; marks that wouldn’t be seen by others, but would remind Daithi of the night, the feelings, the sounds every time he caught sight of himself in a mirror.
And again, the Irish beta never said a word to anyone and Tyler found himself comfortable and confident that their dirty little secret would remain that way. He avoided the identity crisis that threatened his thoughts anytime he remembered those dark nights, and treated his dumbass friend the way he always did, laughing and snarking little comments he knew would be missed by whoever else heard them. Little comments that would make Daithi splutter, or strain with his laughter.
When he planned another week for their crew, he couldn’t get his mind off Daithi and how it would feel to touch him again, to scent him, taste him, fuck him. He didn’t question the highly inappropriate thoughts, pushing them to the side as he worked out the finer details of the holiday.
They’d have games to play every other night, clubs to go out and get drunk at, a wonderful amount of booze that would get them heavily fucked up whenever they wanted; it was perfect.
His friends all arrived at their own times. He assigned them their rooms, helped them with their luggage, got them settled. But when Daithi asked where he’d be sleeping, in front of everyone of course, Tyler only responded with “Outside like the dog you are.” It drew laughter from their friends and no one noticed when Tyler snagged Daithi’s belongings and carted them up to his own bedroom.
Then their week began.
Tyler lasted three days pretending there was nothing different between he and the Irish beta. He ignored the flirty remarks, didn’t squirm when Daithi sat closer to him than was necessary, allowed the beta to roll on top of him in his sleep, snoring against his neck and waking up with a face full of unruly hair.
It worked out all dandy and normal. He shut down the random impulsive thoughts of pressing Daithi against a wall and kissing him breathless, he didn’t let the sight of the beta in only a shirt and boxers irk him, he didn’t let himself indulge in what he’d been craving for months.
It was going great. Until it wasn’t.
MarioKart. The most cursed game of bullshit and fuckery. Of course having Brian and Daithi in the house was a mistake. Spread between the two TV rooms, they played for about three hours before Tyler lost his shit and snapped his controller in half. Because, of course, the whole damn game Daithi was out to get him. The beta didn’t seem to have any care for his place in the game, cackling where he sat on the couch opposite Tyler as he chased the furious alpha and slammed him with shells and bombs and boomerangs.
It was plain torture and Craig had made the intelligent decision of lighting scent-blocking candles throughout both rooms before they’d begun because without them, the scents of anger that reeked from Marcel and Tyler specifically would have been suffocating.
When Daithi decided halfway through their session to scamper over to Tyler’s couch and plant himself unnecessarily close to the alpha under the guise of “escaping Marcel” who was attempting to strangle Brian, no one noticed but Tyler. He simply glared at the Irishman who beamed back up at him, before the next race began and their attention was stolen away.
Yet despite the proximity of the two, Daithi didn’t relent on his torture. Several times, Tyler had to stop himself from grabbing the beta by the throat, but Daithi showed no fear as he snickered to himself, nudging Tyler’s arm and driving circles around his character.
He let out a shout two races later, baring his teeth and growling in a way that had Marcel and Brian high-fiving and laughing. Neither noticed that Daithi swayed in closer to Tyler with that broad, shit-eating grin, and sucked in a deep breath. His lashes fluttered as he tasted the air of fury around Tyler, before he settled back into the pillows with satisfaction.
“Fucker,” Tyler snapped, but couldn’t find it in him to thump the man. The next race, they heard Anthony’s shriek from the other room and when Tyler was bombed right on the finish line, falling from first to seventh, he broke the controller and Brock decided they’d played enough.
Brian announced he was done for the night and the Marcel agreed with an arm around a yawning Scotty. Daithi didn’t move and Tyler couldn’t force himself to stand. It was just the two of them in the room as Daithi turned off the game and shut down the TV. Tyler could see his grin in the dark of the room.
“You’re a fucking prick,” Tyler responded, not waiting for Daithi to gloat.
“Am I? Why d’ye say that?” the Irishman asked. “Ain’t my fault ye’re shit at the game.”
Tyler growled, nose flaring as he glared at the beta. “Fuck you,” he snarled.
Daithi looked nothing less than delighted as he responded with a cheerful; “T’s been a while since ye’ve done that!”
He didn’t know whether it was how frustrated he was with the beta or if he just didn’t want to continue their conversation anymore. Whatever his motivation was, he couldn’t stop himself from reaching up and catching Nogla by the neck. With his thumb pressed to the beta’s throat, he pushed him onto his back, enjoying the look of shock and the gasp that formed an ‘o’ with those pretty pink lips. He only let himself admire the beta for a second before he was pressing in close and crushing his lips into Daithi’s.
If the beta had any ideas about protesting, he lost them in seconds. His hands flew to Tyler’s hair, grasping hard, and his mouth opened against Tyler’s with an eagerness that twisted heat in the alpha’s gut. He licked into Daithi’s mouth, reexploring territory he hadn’t visited in too long.
He pushed the thigh he had between the beta’s legs up firmly, no teasing or taking things slow as he pressed against Daithi’s arousal.
“Not so smart when you’re under me, are you?” The words were growled against Nogla’s tongue as Tyler grabbed the beta by the ass and squeezed. With another grind of his leg, Daithi jerked into the contact and failed to bite back a whimper.
His breath was hot against Tyler’s mouth as he panted, opening his eyes to reveal large pupils and a gaze controlled by lust. Yet still, he managed a small smirk, biting into his chapped lips as he moved up against the alpha. “Ye smell so good when you’re angry,” he breathed, pulling Tyler closer by the hand on the back of the American’s neck. He wasn’t shy about pressing his nose to the alpha’s scent gland, moaning against his neck as he rutted his hips up. “Couldn’ help it.”
The breathless words were enough to spin Tyler’s head. He pushed a hand to Daithi’s chest, shoving him back down into the couch cushions before crushing their mouths together against and biting roughly at the beta’s lip.
“Upstairs,” he growled. “And shut the fuck up about it.”
Daithi grinned, jumping up off the couch as soon as Tyler let him up. “Or what? Ye gonna bite me?” he dared and Tyler bared his teeth, stalking after the beta who backed up towards the doorway.
“I’m gonna fuck you until you’re begging for me to bite you,” he snarled, swiping in an attempt to catch the beta by the wrist. Daithi jumped back and took off up the stairs, cackling to himself as Tyler rolled his shoulders. “Asshole,” he muttered to himself, following the man and gazing down the hall to make sure all the doors were closed.
He found Daithi sitting on his bed, smiling innocently with a hand between his legs. Tyler felt his stomach turn as the beta palmed himself and couldn’t stop himself from practically pouncing on the man.
He shoved him up onto the middle of the bed, crawling atop him and shoving his legs apart. “Move,” he snapped, when Daithi himself up. The Irishman chose to ignore him as he sucked in another deep breath, nosing against the base of the alpha’s throat.
“Make me,” he dared back, biting at Tyler’s throat only to laugh when he was shoved back. He laughed harder when Tyler ripped his shirt down the middle, before yanking his button out and zipper down. It was no trouble at all for the alpha to get Daithi naked. With his strength, there was no issue lifting his stubborn ass up to drag both his boxers and jeans down his thighs.
Tyler was filled with the desire to make Daithi eat his words. He didn’t have patience, didn’t care for taking things slow; with access to all of the beta, he didn’t hesitate to spit on his fingers and push one up to the knuckle into the beta’s ass.
“Fuck!” he cried out, hips jerking at the blunt intrusion. Tyler growled and pushed two fingers of his other hand into the beta’s mouth, pressing his fingertips down on his tongue and glaring.
“Be quiet,” he snarled and worked his finger in and out of the squirming beta.
“Uthe fockin’ lube,” Daithi hissed back. Tyler rolled his eyes, but as much as he craved to torture Daithi like the Irishman had tortured him, he didn’t actually want to hurt the guy. There was a warm, fond feeling nestled in his heart that seemed to grow and bloom every time he caught Daithi’s eye while they were hanging out and every time he was the reason the beta laughed himself into tears.
He wouldn’t ever admit it out loud but he cared for the Irish jackass and the thought of his beta being hurt or upset had a flash of anger coursing through his veins. He growled to himself, leaning over the side of the bed to where Nogla’s bad was open and overflowing with unfolded clothing.
“Left pocket,” the beta said, hips squirming where Tyler’s finger still settled within him. He pulled out the little bottle, grabbing Nogla by the back of the thigh and pushing his knee towards his chest. “Watch it,” Nogla whispered, grunting in discomfort as Tyler basically bent him in half.
Tyler ignored him, pouring a substantial amount of lube directly on Nogla’s entrance and chuckling as the beta hissed from the cold of it. He didn’t wait for Daithi to adjust to it. He didn’t take his time.
He drove his two fingers directly into Daithi and brushed his fingertips over the bundle of nerves he knew was settled up inside the beta. “Shite-” Daithi gasped, grasping the bedsheets as his hips jerked up off the bed. “Oh fock, oh fock-”
Tyler grinned, not letting go of the beta’s thigh as he drove his fingers in and out of the body beneath him. The muscle beneath his hand was tense and his legs shook as Tyler fingered him open. Gasps and whimpers left his tongue, head back and eyes closed as the beta was swamped in relentless waves of pleasure.
As his voice rose, Tyler dropped his mouth to his jaw and bit at the skin. “Quiet,” he reminded, dropping further to catch Daithi’s earlobe between his teeth. “Don’t wanna wake anyone, do we?” The words fell from his tongue with a purr and he felt Daithi shiver. He couldn’t stop his grin as he kissed down the beta’s throat. “What do you think they’d think if they found you like this? If they heard how you sounded while I was fuckin’ you with my fingers?”
“No, no,” Daithi mumbled, chest heaving as he rolled his hips up and jerked back into the touch. “‘M quiet,” he whispered and bit down on his tongue.
“Good boy,” Tyler murmured, sliding his tongue over the arch of Nogla’s shoulder before locking his mouth onto the skin and sucking harshly. He didn’t hide the wet noises he made as he sucked a hickey into Daithi’s skin, adding a third finger without even slowing the thrusts of his fingers.
Daithi’s moan was high-pitched and broken and Tyler could say with all honesty that he’d never heard a better sound than that. He sucked another love-bite into the pale skin before finding Daithi’s mouth with his and claiming those lips and that tongue as his own.
“Get on wit’ it,” Daithi slurred, speaking into Tyler’s mouth as the alpha savoured the taste of him.
“Get on with what?” the alpha asked with a grin.
Daithi glared, yanking on Tyler’s hair as they drew apart to breathe. “Ye know what. I’ve been waitin’ for too long; hurry up.”
Sinking his fingers as deep into Daithi as he could, the American curled them in and pressed hard against the beta’s inner walls. “I dunno,” he said, tilting his head with a smile. “I think my fingers do the job well enough, don’t you?”
Daithi released a frustrated whimper but words seemed to fail him as Tyler continued curling and twisting and moving his fingers. “No,” he uttered, hips arching up into the touch.
“What do you want me to do then?” Tyler asked, rolling Daithi’s prostate beneath his three fingertips. “What do you want me to do to you?”
Another irritated growl. “Ye’re an asshole,” he hissed, before biting back a moan and closing his eyes. “Fock me already.” The words were strained and Tyler couldn’t deny how perfect Daithi looked with his cheeks so pink, naked and breathless beneath him.
With a peck on the lips, he grinned down at the man and let his fingers slide out. “It’s been a long time since I’ve done that,” he mocked, repeating the Irishman’s words from earlier with a teasing grin. Daithi didn’t even get to roll his eyes as Tyler pulled out his arousal and slicked himself up with lube. He lined himself up and pressed his mouth to Daithi’s, before he sunk into the body beneath him.
And if the two were perhaps a bit too loud as Tyler pushed Daithi through two orgasms and fucked him through his own, and if Tyler left a few too many marks on Daithi’s throat; their friends were either too oblivious to notice or too smart to mention anything in the morning.
Daithi stayed for another week after everyone else had left and no one bothered to question why. Tyler found that in the end he didn’t really care what his friends knew and thought. Waking up to Daithi drooling on his shoulder was worth more than anything in the world.

Daithi De Wildcat
Nogla sighed as he watched Vanoss grab the gun from the wall, examining it like he knew what he was doing.Even Craig was doing better then him and he doesn't really do well with these situations. Right now they were just introduced to the zombie apocalypse, trying to scavenge for food and resources fo the base. Nogla glanced down at his gun then over at Tyler shooting at the zombies trying to climb in with Craig. Laughing at something he had said earlier. A blush rose to his cheeks as he watched him from a far. Not even paying attention to Evan yelling behind him for back up. Just why couldn't he acknowledge him, he was right there. One of the best on the team right now in fact but all he got was being made fun of for small mess ups he makes with either his shooting of his way of words. It get's old after a while you know.
"Coming Evan" Nogla replied as he rolled his eyes, pushing Evan behind him as he fired at the zombies coming toward them at a rapid speed. He smirked as he shot all of them on the head at close range. Making sure all of them were dead before he checked on Evan's state. He was highly skilled but Tyler would never realize it would he. He has saved everyone's assess A lot of times in the past as well.
"Thanks Nogla for the save" Evan chuckled as he ran a hand through his hair nervously as he looked at the Raven haired male in front of him. Nogla shrugged with a smile as he brought out his knife and continued to stab the zombies as they came up to the open areas covered by boards. He just wanted to get this over with, constant fighting over zombies. It was tiring now to him, especially at 1 in the morning. Far from home as well, it would take them at least 30 minutes to get home at this rate. Nogla lazily went over to a door and smashed down the boards the past people built up, going his own way instead of waiting for the others. Just get this done and your fine, he kept telling himself.
Nogla started to fire at the zombies coming towards him. Kicking one in the shin then bashing it's brains in with his gun. As he brought his gun off of the now dead zombies brain he shoved the barrel in to another's mouth and blew the back of it's head out. He smirked at his work, the room was now clear because of his tactics and none of the guys knew yet. Hell they were probably already in the next room up stairs on their own right now, probably doing fine on their own for all he knew. As Nogla turned around his eyes met with Tyler's bright blue ones. He bit his bottom lip nervously as Tyler walked towards him, no emotion on his face which made Nogla even more nervous.
"Uh..hey Tyler I thought you were protecting the window upstairs with Craig, is everything alright, do you need something?" Nogla asked nervously as he walked closer towards him.
"Those moves were awesome that you just did. Like amazingly good, I didn't know you were getting that good Nogla damn. The apocalypse rally does change people" Tyler said with an amazed look on his face. Nogla blushed deep red as he glanced away from Tyler, trying not to make a fool of himself in front of him. It wasn't really amazing there were only a few zombies in the room.
"Well a...thanks, haven't really been practicing though. I just wanted to get by and well there were only a few zombies in the room so-"
"You don't have to explain yourself for something epic Nogla, just let it be. Honestly I should have brought you along when I was fighting by myself the other day. Now I know I can rely on someone other then myself during this mission. Do you realize how bad Craig and Evan are. They should have some practice just shooting out the boarder we had made" Tyler said with a slight chuckle. Nogla let his breath go that he had been holding for a while after hearing Tyler say that. He really felt that way about him? A blush rose to his cheeks as he looked to the side again. Feeling Tyler's presence coming closer to him. Tyler cupped his cheek and leaned in,
"Guys help! Hurry" Craig yelled as he ran down stairs with Evan bringing more zombies with him. Tyler groaned annoyed by Craig bringing more zombies down while they were having a moment. They must have broke down the barricades upstairs. Nogla stepped forward and started to fire at the zombie hoard. Killing off as much as he could.
"I ran out of ammo...AHHH" Nogla screamed as a zombie pulled his leg down. Making him fall to the floor. Hitting his head hard on the broken concrete.
"Nogla!" Tyler shouted as he fired at the horde as best he could. Killing off more then half especially where Nogla was. Tyler picked Nogla up bridal style and carried him behind Evan and Craig, letting them shoot down the rest. There was a little bit of blood on the back of his head but he should be fine for now.
"Guys we need to leave, now!" Tyler shouted as he ran to the back of the room where the front door was.
"Agreed let's head out guys" Evan yelled as he opened the front door and let everyone out.
"Is Nogla okay?" Craig asked as they ran to the car. Tyler nodded his head as he ran his hand through Nogla's hair. He should wake up soon, at least Tyler thought that. They hoped in the car and Evan started to drive off down the road, letting Craig shoot the zombies that were fighting against the car as Tyler sat in the back with Nogla on his lap. Watching him open his eyes slowly.
"W-What happened?" Nogla asked as he opened his eyes fully.
"You hit your head on the concrete in the house after a zombie pulled your leg out from underneath you. You should be fine but once we head back to base you'll have to clean the back of your head. There is a little bit of blood from where you got hit." Tyler explained with a small smile. Nogla didn't move from his lap though. He stayed there with a smile on his face.
"Thanks for saving me Tyler, I guess I'm not really that smart"
"No it was a simple mistake Nogla, yes it could have risked your life but luckily I saved you before the zombie could take your life away from you. I probably would have done the same thing you know" Tyler said with smile, he leaned down and pecked his forehead slightly.
"Every thing will be alright okay Nogla, besides you have me to cover your ass if you get in trouble" a blush rose on to Tyler's cheeks and so did Nogla. Nogla rose up from Tyler's lap. Wincing a small bit from the pain of his head. He finally leaned in and kissed Tyler's lips softly.
"I know you've got my back, you always have" Nogla muttered under his breath as Tyler placed his lips on Nogla's again.
"We've got each other's backs from now on okay, promise. We are going to make it through this apocalypse, together" Tyler said with a smile as Nogla sat all the way up from him.
"Together" and little did they know Evan and Craig were listening in, in the front seat. Craig slipped Evan the candy bar he was saving for the bet they made against Tyler and Nogla getting together. Evan winning the bet ultimately, but at the same time thought it was cute them saying that to each other. And hoped it would stay true, because from what it looks like nothing could break their spirits.

“D’you take all yer murder victims this far into a forest?”
A cloud of white appeared from his cracked, frost-ridden lips. His eyes followed it as it faded, but he didn’t stop wading through the seven inches of snow. He glanced at his companion- the other man’s presence producing the heat of a fire that Nogla so desperately craved. But he kept his distance.
“Nah, you’re a special one,” Evan said, grinning.
Nogla huffed and looked up. He may be taller than most, but those trees towering over his shivering frame made him feel tiny. The sky was dull and empty, and he wasn’t sure whether it was about to snow again or not.
By this time of the year, noon felt like night. There wasn’t much colour- everything came in shades of grey. If he were alone, the atmosphere would’ve been much more eerie. Not for the first time, he’s glad that he has someone with him.
Even if that someone had to be Evan. Nogla’s having a hard time keeping his crush to himself as it is.
He jerked in surprise as a clump of snow slipped from a branch above him and hit his shoulder.
Swallowing a yelp, he reminded himself he was safe. He shook off the snow and turned back down to his friend.
“Sorry to disappoint ye, but I’ll die from this cold b’fore we even reach the creek.”
Evan smiled at that. Following the marks his younger self had created years ago in the bark of trees, he continued to tramp through the snow with little effort while Nogla struggled to lift his foot every time it sunk.
They slowed down once the trees gradually became more slanted- unlike the straight, rigid beams they’d encountered at the start of the journey. A fallen tree lay across their path, disrupting the soldier-like stance the other trees were adopting. It didn’t look like it fell by natural causes, and Evan didn’t appear to be worried by its existence, so Nogla assumed that it had always been there.
The pair approached the tree and Evan finally turned to look at him, a knowing smirk on his face. Nogla knew he could not climb over it without help, especially not with his thick and stiff clothing.
He sighed, embarrassed. So much for keeping his distance.
He was expecting the Canadian to create a foothold with his hands, but to his complete surprise, Evan slid his arms around his waist and lifted.
Years of ice hockey- He suppressed the thought before it could fully form as he scrambled onto the tree, reluctant to leave Evan’s warmth but adamant on escaping his grasp.
Nogla sat down, ass freezing with his long legs dangling off the other side. When he turned back, he caught a mischievous glint in Evan’s eyes. Immediately he became wary, remembering the last time he saw that look.
His suspicions were confirmed when Evan deliberately turned left, walked all the way to the end of the tree, went around it and stood before him- barely containing his laughter.
Nogla made a noise of exasperation and hopped down, shaking the snow off his coat and smiling goofily despite himself. “What was t’at for?”
“Just a prank,” Evan hummed, still feeling euphoric. “Ok, all serious now.”
They continued their walk until Evan spotted a mark on a tree that was noticeably different from the others and paused. “There’s a ravine here,” he warned.
Nogla saw the rope bridge that connected the two ends and immediately tensed. It looked to be half a mile long, but that could just be his mind playing tricks on him. The handles of the bridge were rough, the ropes that served as railings worn to shreds from the harsh blows of the snowstorm just days before, and every year before that. The planks, made with wood from the trees in that same forest, appeared more resistant to the cold than the ropes had.
It looked stable enough, but Nogla was sure that if he fell he’d be a goner.
He peeked over the edge of the ravine. It was deep, but it wasn’t bottomless. The surface of the ravine was muddled with rocks and stones of various sizes, sides jagged and uneven. He thought he saw traces of red down there, but when he blinked it was gone.
“You go first,” Nogla said, letting out a shaky breath. Evan nodded, remembering Nogla’s fear of heights, before making a point to stomp across without difficulty. Nogla glared at his back.
Rolling his eyes, Evan deliberately strolled back onto the bridge. The bridge was swaying, but it was definitely holding his weight, and Nogla felt himself loosen up a little. “C’mon, it’s safe. Just don’t look down,” Evan assured him.
Hesitantly, he stepped on the bridge. He contemplated running right across to get it over with, but that thought quickly dissipated when the bridge swayed again and his heart leapt to his throat. Evan noticed his reluctance and extended an arm towards him, palm facing up.
“We can hold hands, if it helps,” he suggested. Under different circumstances, Nogla would reject an offer like that in a heartbeat out of pride. But this time, his gloved hand was reaching out to grip Evan’s before he’d even realised it.
They moved slowly, Evan going at Nogla’s pace. “My knees ar’ getting weak,” Nogla muttered as he risked a glance over the edge and saw that flash of red again.
“Knees weak, arms are heavy,” Evan laughed, swinging their hands back and forth. Nogla appreciated the distraction and kept his eyes forward, even when the bridge shook and they paused, regaining their balance.
It was terribly hard for Nogla to ignore how the heat shared from their joined hands brought a flush to his face. By now, his heart was beating rapidly for a complete different reason other than fear. Unfortunately, there was nothing else to look at, just more trees and sky and snow, so he has no choice but to fix his gaze on their joined hands instead.
“Mom’s spaghetti,” he replied, grinning, and they repeated it back and forth between fits of laughter. Once they reached the other side, Evan let go of Nogla’s hand and Nogla covered up his disappointment with a good-natured bump to Evan’s shoulder in thanks. They took a moment to catch their breath before continuing their trek.
It had almost been an hour since they started their journey. Rays of sunlight had begun to shine through in slices, partially blocked by the tall trees and casting shadows around them. The gentle, golden heat felt like heaven on Nogla’s face.
“So, Evan, how long ‘ntil we reach our destination?” Nogla turned to ask him, beaming at the sight of Evan happily enjoying the glow as well.
“A bit more,” Evan replied, smiling softly, “so just keep ‘er goin’.”
Only a few steps later, Nogla cheered and pointed when he spotted the still creek in the distance. “Yep, that’s it,” Evan chuckled. It looked beautiful from afar, especially with the streaks of sunlight beaming down, reflecting off the shimmering water and bringing colour to a winter wonderland. The branches of the trees curved inwards like a welcoming embrace, creating the illusion of paradise.
Upon reaching it, Nogla realised that there was a thin layer of ice over the creek, and was filled with joy when he saw small fishes swimming beneath. Just when he thought it couldn’t get any better, he heard soft footsteps padding towards them, and was pleasantly surprised when a wet, black nose nuzzled his hand.
Evan crouched down to the white husky’s height. He discreetly reached into his pocket for a treat one-handed while fluffing its fur with the other.
“Hey there, Joe. It’s been a while,” Evan said, his voice a low murmur as he scratched it behind the ears.
Despite Evan’s quiet voice, Nogla didn’t miss a single word of his whisper. “Ye named him aft’r our joke?” he asked, just as softly, eyes glimmering.
Grinning, a shy blush bloomed across Evan’s cheeks, and Nogla has never felt so warm.

His voice was smooth, deep and quiet yet powerful. Soothing Tyler in a way he had never felt before, the heavy weight of stress that was on his shoulders faded away with every self loathing thought. He knew some wouldn’t really call a guy’s voice beautiful, but David’s was. It was melting butter. It was the melody of the sea. It was the howl of the wolves. It was a hym from heaven. It was everything. It was the promise of tomorrow. It was beautiful….. and he wished that David would never stop.
Tyler was sat next to David, his eyes were half closed and … well, staring wasn’t quite the word for what he was doing, though he’d fit the dictionary definition to a tee. His eyes weren’t unblinking but slowed, he was looking at everything and nothing at the same time. But either way, it was obvious by the smug grins from Craig and Brian that they knew he was enjoying David’s harmonic voice. Perhaps it was his lips that gave it away, not quite smiling but tilting as if they mean to. Unconsciously, without him even realising what he was doing, Tyler shifted closer to David so that their legs touch and his head fell onto his shoulder. In his peripheral vision, he saw Brian and Craig’s faces become shocked and sympathetic, maybe they’d just actually realised how tired, how fed up he was, how much he just wanted to sleep and never wake up. How much he just wanted it all to stop. David didn’t stop singing, which Tyler was so thankful for, and by the time he had finished the song, the echo of his rich voice had lulled him into a well-needed sleep.
David draped the blanket over Tyler, who slept sound on the couch, his face snuggled into his arm and his body was still besides the soft movement of his breathing. The bags under his eyes were scarily dark, like someone had punched him in the eyes and David sighed. Craig was looking at them too and Brian only glanced at their sleeping friend as he made them cups of coffee. “He’s so tired, but he doesn’t sleep.” Stated Brian, pouring the scolding water into the two mugs. “He can’t sleep, Brian. Not even the pills he takes helps with his insomnia.” Craig replied with a little sharpness in his voice. “I know he can’t, but sometimes I feel like he just doesn’t try. Li-” “Like he’s given up.”

. . .
He would’ve asked, he really would if it ever came down to it. The question didn’t even leave his head while he stared at a dead corpse. He examined it thoroughly, not because he found it interesting or anything. He was looking for one part of it that Vanoss could identify, then let out a deep sigh as he stood up, rolling back his shoulders before looking at a group of his friends standing several feet behind him. They all were in the darkness like a group of odd creatures.
“It’s not him—”
“I could’ve told you that,” Wildcat said with his arms crossed.
“Alright, boys,” Vanoss stepped over the rotting corpse, “let’s continue this mission.”
The night should’ve been easy. It wasn’t. First a phone call, a distressed voice on the other side only for it to cut off mid-sentence. Vanoss didn’t hold back against what he was meant to do, so he grasped for anyone who wanted to go and piled them into the truck.
Not everyone wanted to come for the same reason.
Moo came up beside him, poking him in the shoulder and said, “I’m only here for the pumpkins.”
“I told you we’ll head over after this,” said Vanoss, frowning at Moo’s sharp nod. He backed up to walk alongside the others behind Vanoss. Did they regret coming after finding out what this all meant? Vanoss was barely understandable when he tried to explain what was happening.
He was afraid, how hard was that to understand?
Vanoss led his group of friends into the suspicious warehouse district of the city. It was cold and quiet, not like he thought a club would be somewhere close by. He just didn’t have much else to think about when it came down to it after he got the phone call. It was still in his head, making him shaky and unnerved by the idea that this could be for nothing.
At least until the trail of bodies started showing up.
“You haven’t explained the mission in detail,” Basically said from somewhere to Vanoss’ left. He was with Fourzer0seven and Panda. The three of them were at a bar an hour ago, drinking beer, and playing Pool, possibly gambling. They weren’t ecstatic about coming in for work, but this was more personal than business.
The rest weren’t doing much, he was pretty sure Terroriser had been sleeping when he answered the phone. Vanoss was grateful none of them put up a fight about coming in. Even when he hardly gave them enough details to go by.
Vanoss looked at Basically, “I got a phone call before I called the rest of you, and—”
“Dumbass Delirious went missing,” Wildcat interjected. “So, Vanoss wants to find him and make sure we can drag his dumbass back to HQ.”
“Is that why we’re here?” Terroriser asked, yawning right after.
“I still want to buy pumpkins,” Moo said wistfully.
“We can just steal some,” Panda offered.
“Shut up,” Basically said, then sped up to walk beside Vanoss. “Why couldn’t you tell the rest of us why we’re here. Maybe we don’t give a flying fuck if Delirious is—”
“He doesn’t normally scream in a phone call, asking for help, then hanging up halfway—”
“Sounds like something Delirious would do,” said Terroriser.
Vanoss shook his head. Right now, that wasn’t really the point of whether this was some kind of joke on Delirious’s part. It was off. He knew it the moment the phone was hung up. He acted quick, and now that he’s seen the bodies left strewn on the ground, he couldn’t take it lightly.
“What do you think about the bodies, if it’s some kind of joke?” he asked his friends, watching their bland expressions before looking forward. Yeah, that’s what he thought.
The buildings looked empty, but that’s usually how they appear when it was around twelve at night and there was barely a sound besides their breathing and footsteps upon the road.
“Where do you think the call came from?” Moo asked.
“Well, from what Delirious went on about on the phone before he hung up, he said Worth St, which is…” Vanoss pointed at a dented sign standing at the corner of the street.
“And you think it’s around here?” Panda asked.
“I did trace the call,” Vanoss said, gritting his teeth at his friend’s constant annoying questions, but it’s not like he could ignore their curiosity when it came to this.
“Hey,” Terroriser said, walking over to him then pointing toward the shadow of one of the buildings, “this is totally normal, right?”
Vanoss wasn’t sure if Terroriser was trying to be sarcastic of some kind. What he could see from where they were standing was writing on the side, including a body hanging from a thick wire.
“If our darling Delirious is on a murder spree, I think we have every right to kill him,” said Wildcat.
Vanoss frowned. “He’s not on a murder spree. Why phone me and tell me to come here just so he can kill me? It doesn’t make sense. It would’ve been easier just to show up at headquarters, knowing I was the only other there, making sure everything was equipped for our next mission.”
Fourzer0seven scoffed from beside Basically. “Ah, yes, you’re the one doing that, I’m pretty sure Terroriser and Moo did that the other day.”
Vanoss rolled his eyes. Great. “Whatever, I was looking over our priorities before he called.”
Terroriser, Moo, Wildcat, and Panda were walking over to the writing on the brick wall, including the body that was currently dripping blood from its overly mutilated body. Good thing Vanoss could hardly see it from where he was.
“How did they get the spray paint up there?” Moo asked Wildcat.
“Does it really matter right now?” Wildcat said, giving a vague shrug.
Terroriser pulled out his phone, looking at the screen before answering the incoming call. “Hey, you’re late, guess what we found.”
“He looks fucking clueless,” Fourzer0seven said.
“He’s dead, Fourzer0seven, he’s fucking dead,” said Basically.
“A dead body hanging from a wire...looks like one of those tough ones, you know...I’m not going to cut it and bring it back, but where are you, Vanoss wants all of us out on the field tonight,” Terroriser said, narrowing his eyes at Vanoss who glared in return.
“Who do you think it is?” Fourzer0seven asked.
“Maybe Delirious if we get a closer look,” Panda said, taking out his phone and flicking on his bright light. It barely pushed the shadows away from the corpse.
“It’s not,” Wildcat said.
“Do you think there’s stairs somewhere around here,” Basically asked, gesturing for Fourzer0seven to follow him.
“I don’t think that’s Delirious,” Vanoss said.
“It’s not…” said Wildcat, hands tucked into his pant pockets and giving an empty look at Vanoss.
“I think it might be Delirious,” Terroriser was saying into the phone with little concern in his voice. “Also, are you coming or what?”
“Wildcat, help us with this door!” Basically called, he and Fourzer0seven stood in front of the warehouse door, having obvious troubles getting inside.
“He’s not coming yet,” Terroriser said to Vanoss.
“I told him to be here…” Vanoss shook his head. “No one ever listens to me.”
Terroriser frowned. “I’m not taking a picture of Delirious’ body...so you’re gonna have to come here and look yourself. It’s not like he’s going anywhere, he’s just hanging off the roof.”
Vanoss stared at the body. The shadows darkened around its rigid form, making it difficult to see who it actually was. The wire itself twisted into barbed wire around its body, and the blood darkened the already black and grey clothes the corpse was wearing.
“I really don’t think that’s Delirious,” Vanoss said quietly.
“That’s what I was trying to tell you guys,” Wildcat grumbled as he walked by Vanoss toward Basically and Fourzer0seven who were still struggling with the door.
“What did he say?” Vanoss asked once Terroriser got off his phone.
“He’s picking up SMii7y and Kryoz first. Said he’d be here in about twenty minutes...if he can find the place.”
“Not like we’re hidden or anything.” Vanoss glanced down the long strip of road between each of the tall grey to red brick buildings. Most of them were brown in the sun, but from all the shadows, everything seemed almost dull besides the orangish red of the streetlights. It reminded him of the corpse dripping blood from the wire.
“Oh shit!” Vanoss twisted around when he heard Basically’s exclaim, he was pointing to the opposite building. “He’s on the roof!”
“Are you serious?” Wildcat asked.
“I wouldn’t have said it if there wasn’t anyone there!”
Vanoss didn’t see anything. The shadows were way too thick up there, and around the building...oh…A body slid from the ledge and it fell, yet barely hit the ground when another wire pulled tight at the body and had it swinging back and forth against the brick wall. The blood leaking from a newly tortured victim was splattered upon the wall and ground like a squished ripened raspberry.
“I could go for some pomegranate juice right now,” Panda said from beside Wildcat.
“Be my fucking guest,” Wildcat muttered, walking past Vanoss as the others headed over to the body.
“Is it him?” Moo asked, jogging alongside Terroriser while avoiding the puddle on the ground.
“I keep fucking telling you idiots—”
“It could be,” Basically said, cutting off Wildcat.
“I don’t think it is,” said Vanoss, peering up to look at the figure. He almost suspected a woman, but when he drew close, he could see it’s another man in a thick dark coat. His clothes were soaked through like the other.
“Is this some kind of sick fucking game this asshole brought us into?” Terroriser asked, glaring up at the body. “Because this isn’t funny, Vanoss!”
“I’m not a part of this shit,” Vanoss said. “I don’t think Delirious would do this anyway, it’s not his shtick to go out of his way to fuck over a group of people, and certainly not us.”
“I agree, Delirious is way too loud when it comes to his plans,” Moo said much calmer than the others.
“Then where is he?” Fourzer0seven asked, glancing around.
“I don’t know, but we should start looking for the asshole who’s hanging bodies like they’re fucking christmas ornaments,” Basically said, sprinting towards another door that led into the building.
“That doesn’t make sense,” Wildcat said under his breath as he followed Basically with Fourzer0seven and Panda.
Vanoss was still staring at the body. Unsure of what this was all supposed to mean. He took out his phone and looked at the unknown phone call that came from Delirious about an hour ago. He couldn’t call or text back, and tracing the call itself came here. To this empty place, yet it wasn’t so empty.
He followed his friends who went through the door that wasn’t locked like the other. The warehouse was dark and had an earthy scent with a taste of metal in the air. He was thinking it could be from the body hanging outside, but he wasn’t so sure as he followed his friend’s voices up ahead.
Vanoss shuddered in the dark. He hated being alone like this, and even whispered Terroriser’s name when he spotted him. Terroriser waved him over as the others were quietly arguing around a metal chair with droplets of blood here and there on the cement.
“So, the dude outside was tortured,” Basically said, leaning against a metal beam.
“Obviously.” Wildcat sighed. “What does this have to do with Delirious?”
“He fucked over the wrong people, that’s the reason why he decided to bring us into it, so he can get us to clean up his mess,” said Terroriser, his arms crossed over his chest.
Vanoss wouldn’t deny that sounded like something Delirious would end up doing to them. Not trying to kill or even traumatize them. He was much more...easier to read than that.
“What are we going to do about that guy who’s wandering around?” Moo asked, head tilted back as he peered up at the roof above them.
“I think we should split up,” Terroriser said. “Half of us stay down here, the other half check where this asshole went.”
“Then what? Kill him, we’re off the job, Terroriser,” said Basically in a mocking tone, but his smirk said otherwise, he seemed to like the idea of wanting to do more than stand around.
Fourzer0seven even pulled out a knife from the inside of his coat.
Vanoss felt for his own switchblade, then wrinkled his nose as he stepped back. “I want to wait for the others.”
“Same,” said Panda.
“Fine, I’ll come along,” Terroriser said, then looked at Moo. “What about you? Are you staying or going with them?”
Moo frowned. “I guess I’ll go with Basically and Fourzer0seven.”
“I’ll stay here, see if he comes through,” Wildcat said.
Vanoss stepped out of the warehouse, then frowned up at the dead body. “I think we should call the cops if Delirious isn’t going to show up. He could be the next hanging corpse.”
“That would be a waste of our time then,” Terroriser said with his phone out, he was dialing a number, then pressed his phone against his ear.
Vanoss walked onto the road and looked at each of the buildings. He couldn’t see anyone. Everything was clear enough that there wasn’t much to suspect. At least until bright headlights made him twitch, and he moved out of the way as the horn was drawn out for too long while the car itself slowed to a crawl.
“I forgot you don’t drive,” Terroriser said as he looked down at SMii7y in the driver’s seat, Kryoz sitting in the passenger, and Nogla rolling down the backseat window.
“Sorry, took some time to get them off their asses,” Nogla said, a grin on his lips. “Did you guys find Delirious yet?”
“No, but there’s already—”
“Yo, are those bodies hanging from the roof?” Kryoz asked, getting out of the car and walking across the street to get a better look.
“Please tell me this is a joke,” SMii7y said as also got out of the car.
“It’s not,” Vanoss told him. It’s not the kind of joke he would play. They made him seem as if he had these violent thoughts on his mind all the time. “Delirious called, told me to come here, but since we all got here...some random person has been shoving bodies off the roof. Right now, there’s only been two.” And a few others in the alleys, hidden by the shadows.
“That’s...messed up.” SMii7y grimaced.
“This is real bad,” said Nogla, looking at the closest body. “Did you call him back?”
“It wasn’t from his cellphone, but I was able to track his signal here…”
“And you don’t think it’s him?” Nogla asked.
“Why would he do this?” Vanoss asked incredulously, and before Nogla could answer his question, they heard yelling from within the warehouse. Vanoss explained that the others had gone in to investigate but it seems they found something. Wildcat and Basically appeared from the shadows and shoved a body down onto the ground.
“Fucking asshole,” Basically panted.
“What happened?” Nogla asked.
“Hey, you’re finally here, always late, aren’t you?” Fourzer0seven said, a grin tugging at the corner of his lips.
“I wanted to join the party, so I brought two more.” Nogla pointed at SMii7y and Kryoz who were standing beside each other.
“I’m not sure if it’s worth it to come,” SMii7y said, grimacing at the body lying on the ground. It was covered in grease or something, the clothes were thick, and the hair was dark.
Panda chuckled nervously as Wildcat knelt down beside the body. “No, it’s totally worth it.”
“What happened to the guy—”
“I don’t know,” Basically interjected, meeting Vanoss’s gaze. “There was a chair propped up on the other side. Apparently whoever was up there was going to shove this one off the building, but we probably wouldn’t have noticed because we were on this side the entire time.”
Well, that’s unsettling.
The person’s face was covered by some kind of mask, and as Wildcat was about to reach for it, the body began to squirm like some kind of worm.
“Ah, it’s moving,” Kryoz shrieked, stepping back from the others.
Vanoss didn’t like the stink of grease coming from the body. “Wonder why it’s covered in that stuff.”
“I don’t know,” Wildcat said, glaring down at the squirming body until it went still. The arms and legs were tightly held down by the wire, and it seemed there was something tight around the neck, keeping the mask in place. Terroriser knelt down to examine it thoroughly.
“It’s not armed from the looks of it,” Terroriser said to Wildcat.
“What are you going to do now?” SMii7y asked, also taking a step away from the others and stood beside Kryoz. The both of them wore unusual frightened expressions. They found these nights enjoyable, but maybe it was an off night of some sort.
Wildcat took a deep breath, but before he could touch the mask, Vanoss took out his switchblade, flicking it open, then tipping the mask slightly. The face was slathered in grease, and the mouth was covered with duct tape. The eyes were tightly closed, possibly to keep the grease from getting inside.
“If anything, the random guy could’ve set this body on fire,” Vanoss said, cutting the wire that kept the mask in place around the face, and Terroriser tore it off.
“Get a cloth,” Terroriser said to the others. SMii7y was the one opening up the trunk of his car and taking out a water bottle. He said he forgot it the other day and hoped it was fine. Vanoss was taking off his sweater so Terroriser can use it to wipe away the grease.
“Do you have any spare clothing?” Wildcat asked, using his own knife to cut off the other sets of wires around the body.
SMii7y scoffed. “No. I can go get some though.”
“Big enough that it can fit Delirious,” Vanoss said as he ripped a part of his sweater, soaking a bit of the cloth, then wiping the grease from the familiar blue eyes he had looked into hours ago.
“Holy shit, thought we had to cut those bodies down and see if you were one of them,” said Terroriser, a nervous smile on his lips as he wiped the grease from Delirious’ face.
SMii7y and Kryoz were gone while the others stayed behind to look for the one who had done this. Delirious didn’t have much to say. He accidentally swallowed the grease and some gasoline. They didn’t have enough water to get it out of his mouth, so Nogla called SMii7y to get him a few bottles.
“Once we’re out of the area,” said Wildcat as he stood up, trying to get the grease off his hands. “We’ll call a clean up crew.”
Vanoss was glad they had cut down the other bodies as neatly as they could, but from the way things had gone, these people were already dead.
Once SMii7y and Kryoz returned. They did their best to clean off Delirious, and put on fresh clothes before discarding the old ones. Vanoss and Terroriser helped Delirious into the back of Vanoss’ truck while the others left, Moo still going on about pumpkins.
The night didn’t stay as quiet, not with Delirious’ muttering explanation over what happened, and the sight of a few white vans driving by toward the Warehouse District.

. . .
“I don’t want to start pointing fingers,” Wildcat said into the comm.
The sound had scared Vanoss who was on his way to Reactor, and he was now leaned against the wall, staring at different colors of each of his friends who were with him on this floating pile of metal somewhere in space.
“Alright, just say it then,” Terroriser said.
“Say what?” Vanoss whispered into his comm.
“Nogla is dead.”
That is not something Vanoss wanted to hear while a light was blinking over top of him as he stood in a lone corridor.
“What do you mean...by dead?” Basically asked.
“He’s dead, Marcel, he’s fucking dead,” Delirious said with a deep sigh. “I found his body.”
Oh, this was wonderful. He had the strong urge to ask where Delirious was and comfort him. Death was not something they were used to, and the fact that he found the body in the first place sent a shiver up Vanoss’ spine.
“You’re indicating that one of us killed him, right?” Terroriser asked Wildcat.
Vanoss gritted his teeth at the insinuation. Would one of them actually do such a thing? Kill Nogla, then accuse the others? He moved his way to Reactor to fix whatever the hell was going on there.
The others were arguing then there was a static noise interfering with their comms.
Basically’s voice was the last to be heard, “Comm...is...down...fix...it.”
Shit. Vanoss did not want to go down there while this was going on. He tried getting a hold of the others, even Delirious, but everyone was silent, and all he could hear was static. Someone should be trying to fix comms. It’s not like anyone wants to die, but someone had killed Nogla.
“I don’t like this,” he said under his breath as he stayed near the wall and moved down the corridor away from the Reactor after finishing the task. He made it to the Lower Engine when he found Moo knelt down against the wall, hugging himself.
“Brock…” Vanoss said, trying not to be too loud as he made his way over to Moo.
He couldn't ignore the fact that one of the others murdered Nogla. There could be a killer anywhere, and that meant Moo was a suspect, and vice versa.
Moo was shivering on the ground, his eyes wet, and he was biting his lower lip. “Evan…”
“Yeah?” Vanoss asked, slowly walking over to him.
“Scotty’s dead.”
Vanoss stopped. The room hummed, and Moo was wiping away tears from his face. “What do you mean...how do you know?” he asked.
Moo sucked in a trembled breath. “I saw him. He’s dead in Electrical...sitting in the corner. Dead. The comms went out, and I was heading to—”
“Why were you coming this way?” Vanoss asked. This wasn’t right, why was Moo coming this way when he should’ve been at Comms.
He looked at Vanoss, then slowly stood up. “It wasn’t me, Evan. I didn’t kill him.”
Would he be reacting this way if he did?
“Where were you before you found Scotty?” His name on his tongue felt odd now that he knew he was dead.
“Admin,” Moo answered. “I heard him...right before the comms went out, I wanted to check if he was okay. Then they were out, and...he was dead.”
“Did you see anyone else?” Vanoss asked.
The second he asked, the lights above them started to flicker, then the room fell into darkness.
“Evan…” Moo whispered uncertainly. “Did you kill Scotty?”
Vanoss shuddered at the idea of ever killing anyone in this damn place. “I just came back from Reactor, why would I kill him?”
“You would’ve come this way…” His voice was growing quieter, or maybe farther away. “You could’ve easily killed him if you wanted too.”
Vanoss took a step forward and heard the echoes of Moo running down the hall. Shit. You have to be kidding me. He didn’t have much light to go on and hoped someone would fix the comms and the lights already, who knew what else was going on and who was dying in the dark. That thought did not help Vanoss since he was now navigating on his own.
The lights sometimes did this whenever they weren’t careful. The tasks set before them were replayed each day. Although, one or two of them had different hours than the others. It always had to remain like that in case something happened while everyone else was asleep. Wildcat made sure these plans were set in place, if they weren’t, the ship could lose energy and power, including oxygen.
The entire team was essential.
And yet, one of them was killing the others. He tried thinking of anyone who had an outside plan, and yet nothing came to mind. They were all trusted friends, but that didn’t seem as likely anymore.
Vanoss closed in on Electrical, and went completely still in front of the threshold. There wasn’t a door, it was simply open for the rest of them to wander in and fix the...lights.
Why didn’t anyone go into the room? Why didn’t Moo? Right. Scotty was dead inside. Right before he could gather the courage to walk inside to look for the electrical box, he heard someone coming closer to the room. Their approach freaked him out and Vanoss backed up as he hid behind the wall, even though it was dark, and they both couldn’t see each other, he was still afraid.
His heart was racing, then he heard a familiar curse and accent.
“Delirious?” Vanoss whispered, coming out from the corner.
“Vanoss!" His voice echoed in the hall. "You’re okay.”
Vanoss smiled, “I should be the one saying that!” He reached his hands out to look for Delirious until their fingertips met. He was pulled into a tight embrace as they stood in the center of the hall.
Delirious moved back, and his hands slid down Vanoss’ back to his waist. “I’m so happy you’re okay.”
Vanoss was mildly surprised to feel Delirious’ mouth against his. The familiar feeling of his lips on his was welcoming as he closed his eyes, tugging Delirious so much closer as he turned his head, deepening the kiss.
He had been so afraid, and now that he was with Delirious, everything seemed to fall into place...well, at least until the questions started popping up into his head.
“Have you seen Moo?” Vanoss asked when he pulled away, panting against Delirious’ mouth, a subtle urge to lean forward to kiss him again.
“No, why, have you?” Delirious asked.
Yeah...he ran off in this direction…
“We should fix the lights,” Vanoss said, pulling away.
“Okay, I hate being in the dark like this,” said Delirious as he stepped past the threshold, his hand clasped with Vanoss who was okay being led into the room with no idea where he was going.
“There should be a flashlight around here,” Delirious said.
“A flashlight?” Vanoss asked.
“Safety measures in case something like this happens, it’s usually to the—” Delirious fell silent which did not help Vanoss who was no longer holding his hand.
“Delirious?”
“I stepped in something...sticky.”
Vanoss gritted his teeth. Where was Moo? “Delirious, have you seen Moo when you were coming this way?”
“No?” Delirious said, then cursed under his breath. “What the fuck…”
Vanoss touched the walls, looking for the flashlight. “I saw Moo,” he says.
Delirious was silent for a second. “Did you, when?”
“A few minutes ago.” He touched something metal on the wall and moved his hand alongside it until he found the lever that opened the case. He might’ve noticed this before, but he hadn’t realized what it was until now. He opened it slowly, reached his hand inside, and grasped for a handle.
“I found the electrical box,” Delirious said from somewhere to Vanoss’ far left.
“Oh, really? Finally…” Vanoss said, twisting the flashlight.
“Hold up, I’ll get this thing turned on.”
“Uh huh,” Vanoss took a step back, then he pressed a button on the side, and the light revealed the dark room, including dark red footprints leading to Delirious who had turned around, squinting at him.
“Hey, you found—”
Vanoss breathed heavily, staring at where the footprints were coming from, and he gasped, staring at Scotty’s dead body lying slumped against the wall like some kind of discarded doll.
“What the fuck?” Vanoss said, turning the light back to Delirious, and he shuddered at the look he was being given by the one person who Vanoss wanted to trust the most. Delirious didn’t seem in the least shocked that Scotty was dead, but there was also the flicks of blood on his face and on the front of his blue jacket.
“Vanoss…” Delirious said.
Vanoss shook his head. “Oh fuck, no, you can’t be!” And before he could gain an answer of any kind, not like he would want too, Vanoss twisted around and sprinted from Electrical.
“Vanoss!” Delirious called after him.
Vanoss didn’t listen, he couldn’t, not when Delirious was covered in blood. His heart raced both in fear and pain as he tried to think of anything that was reasonable that could tell him that Delirious hadn’t killed Scotty.
At least until those flimsy ideas fell apart when he came upon a slumped over person in a turquoise colored uniform. The red was stark on the front, but the person wearing almost made Vanoss crumple at the sight of him.
Moo.
Shit. So, Delirious killed him, right? That’s right or was this all messed up, and Vanoss was hallucinating. He didn’t know. Right now, he had to find the others, make sure that what he was seeing was not some kind of joke. His friends weren’t this cruel, not when the electricity was out, and comms. It wasn’t fixed, and no one was trying to contact him.
If no one will, then he’ll have too.
Vanoss sprinted through Storage, ignoring the way Delirious had gone quiet after he found Moo’s body. He was no longer calling out his name. If Delirious killed Moo and Scotty, then that also meant he killed Nogla. He’s the one who found the body.
Vanoss gritted his teeth at the thought he kissed him not too long ago, that he was completely thrilled to see him. Yet, he was the one who had blood covering—
“Shit, shit, shit.” Vanoss slowed in the hall and turned the flashlight to the front of his jacket. Yep, there’s the blood. That’s fucking great.
He continued walking, lowering the strength of the light on the flashlight while checking behind him. Delirious wasn’t there, but the darkness was frightening.
“I don’t like this…” he said, voice coming out almost whiny if it weren’t for his own fears overwhelming him. This is exactly why he didn’t like being alone.
On his way to Communications, Vanoss heard a voice up ahead. He slowed and turned off the light. Pressing himself against the wall, Vanoss listened and heard a familiar voice.
“Well, it’s not like you were going to get anywhere,” said Wildcat, his tone clipped.
“Shit,” Vanoss whispered, peeking around the corner. Wildcat had a flashlight pointed down at his feet, and there was another lying on the floor directly at Basically who was on the ground.
“We don’t need eight crewmates anyways, and by the time we reach our destination, it won’t matter by then.” He sounded bitter, but his expression was pained as he stared at Basically’s dead body.
From what Vanoss was understanding, Wildcat and Delirious were killing off their friends. Why? Four of them were now dead. Unless there were others who were killing off the remaining, or maybe it was only Vanoss who was the sane one. This was really confusing.
Right before he could figure out what else to do, two hands grasped his shoulders from behind and yanked him back, a hand placed over his mouth to stop him from yelling, then he was dragged into the darkness.
Vanoss struggled with the flashlight, and when he managed to press the button to turn the light on, it was swatted out of his hand and hit the floor. The sound made an echo, but he was still being dragged, then shoved against the wall on the other side of the corridor.
“Deli—”
“Shut up,” Delirious said, covering Vanoss’ mouth again as he leaned close, keeping him pinned to the wall. “I was trying to make sure you stayed out of this, but you’re making this worse, Evan.”
Worse? What the fuck was he talking about? He and Wildcat were fucking killing their friends, and somehow I was making this worse!
Vanoss tried getting Delirious off of him, but he wasn’t budging, and all he could do was glare at the man who killed three of their friends, and...who Vanoss loved.
“Let go,” he said, words muffled.
Delirious growled, then he slid his hand away and covered his mouth with his own.
Vanoss’ eyes widened, fingers curling into Delirious’ coat and trying to get him off. I’m kissing a killer, what the fuck! This would probably be the last time he did kiss Delirious, and the thought of it made his stomach drop, and everything fall apart. Delirious took this moment to deepen the kiss, to moan quietly.
When they parted, he whispered, “I love you.”
Fuck! “I have the blood of my friends on me because of you!” Vanoss shoved Delirious back and did his best to trip him until he was lying on the ground, and he punched him in the face. Ignoring the grunt coming from Delirious, Vanoss quickly got up and sprinted away into the darkness of the corridor.
He didn’t stop until he was in the same hallway where he had first heard his friends voices before half were cut down. He panted, trembling against the wall as he slid down, bringing his legs to his chest.
Fuck, why did it have to be you?
“Vanoss?”
He glanced up, but it was way too dark to see anyone. “Brian?” he whispered, uncertain if Terroriser was also another killer like Wildcat and Delirious.
“Hey...uh...you don’t have a light, do you?” he asked from somewhere down the hall from Vanoss.
“No, I dropped it,” he said, sniffling. “Terroriser...Moo, Fourzer0seven, and Basically are dead.”
“What? No...that can’t be right, are you serious?” he asked, sounding distraught.
Vanoss pushed himself up. “Yes. I’m serious. Delirious and Wildcat are the ones who killed them…” Oh fuck, the way that they died. Stab wounds, two of them died quick thanks to Delirious, while Wildcat stood before Basically's dead body.
“Where are they?” he asked, drawing closer to Vanoss.
“I left Delirious at Electrical…” His eyes burned. “Wildcat killed Basically.
“Tyler killed Marcel?” Terroriser said, he breathed heavily. “Fucking asshole, I’ll kill him for that. And what about Delirious, did he…”
“He killed Brock and Scotty.”
Terroriser cursed. “Where is Panda?”
“I don’t know,” Vanoss said. “I haven’t checked the other side of the ship, but Delirious...he’s quiet, if he catches us, we’ll be dead.”
“He might keep you alive.”
“I don’t think so,” said Vanoss. Why keep him alive after finding out what he had done. Vanoss couldn’t accept him even if he loved him, it wasn’t enough, not after what he did.
“We have to find Panda, he might be hiding out somewhere, making sure someone else turns the lights on, but what you said about Wildcat and Delirious, I don’t think the lights will turn on...they’ll probably make sure we’re all dead,” Terroriser said, now standing in front of Vanoss, tapping a finger on Vanoss’ shoulder to indicate where he was.
He nodded in the dark. “Okay.”
What they did have was Security, but without Electrical, none of the equipment in that room will work correctly. There’s the Upper Engine and Cafeteria going up, then Weapons, O2, and Navigation on the other side of the ship.
They moved quick through the dark, pressing their hands on the walls to make sure they were going in the right direction.
“Did you see their bodies?” he asked.
“Yes,” Vanoss said. He wouldn’t be able to get that out of his head. No. It would remain there for awhile. Even the sight of Scotty’s body, and Marcel.
“Do you know...why?”
“Wildcat said there were too many of us…”
Terroriser scoffed. “As if. They need a full crew to operate the entire ship, they can’t do it with just two people. Fucking idiots.”
“Unless they know something we don’t.”
“There must be or they wouldn’t be on a killing spree.”
“I wonder who came up with the idea…” Vanoss said. He didn’t believe Delirious could come up with it, so he guessed Wildcat must’ve convinced him somehow.
“Well, we’ll have to get the drop on them and ask,” Terroriser said.
Vanoss wouldn’t lie, he felt a lot safer with Terroriser now that Vanoss was away from the others. Although, he couldn’t ignore the pain in his chest about Delirious’ involvement. Maybe he should’ve asked why he would do such a thing, but Vanoss was too occupied at the thought that Delirious could kill him.
Would he have killed him?
“I’m sorry...about Delirious,” Terroriser said softly.
Vanoss nodded. “Me too.”
They walked through the Upper Engine, and down the corridor toward Cafeteria. It was so dark that Vanoss wanted another flashlight to help them guide their way, but unfortunately, he dropped it when he escaped.
“Do you see anything?” Vanoss asked.
“A blinking light to the far left,” Terroriser answered.
The light seemed to be the same one that was reminding them to fix Communications and Electrical. He was surprised that it was still going, but it could be from a second generator that was slowly going out, but he wasn’t sure. He barely listened to anyone’s explanation when they tried to tell him more about the mechanics of the Skeld.
There was a low hum coming from around them, and Vanoss flinched as the lights flickered on. Bright enough that it made him wince. Vanoss could hardly feel anything as he stood before Terroriser who had a gun to his head, Wildcat on the other end of it.
“No!” Vanoss cried out as it went off, and he sucked in a trembling breath at the sound of Terroriser’s body hitting the ground. No. This can’t be right, why was this happening! Why? Why? Why! “Why are you killing them off!”
His ear twitched at the sound of feet hitting the ground, and before Vanoss could turn around, Delirious grabbed him from behind, kicking his leg hard and shoving him to his knees.
He gasped, trying to fight against Delirious who had a good hold on him.
Wildcat tsked in a disappointed way. “If only you stayed on one side of the ship.”
“I would’ve found out one way or another, asshole.”
Wildcat scoffed. “The second last, and I’m sure Panda is somewhere around here,” he said, looking around contemplatively.
“Why are you doing this?” Vanoss asked, trying to remain calm. Panda was alive. Holy shit. What the hell was going to happen if these two killed him now?
Wildcat smiled as he knelt down, keeping the gun loose in his hand. “Did you know that Terroriser, Moo, and Basically were in on the take over?”
Vanoss blinked at that. He glanced at the blood seeping from around Terroriser’s body. “No. What?”
“Until we found out,” Delirious said into Vanoss’ ear.
“Security doesn’t need to be watched, but I’m one of the people who ends up in that room, and let me tell you when I was going to relieve Moo from his post, guess what I heard,” Wildcat chuckled.
Oh, shit, this wasn’t good.
“Mutiny,” Delirious answered, chuckling against Vanoss. The feeling of him so close had once been welcome, but now Vanoss could only feel the cracks falling out of place. Everything was wrong, the blood on his hands that was now smeared on the front of his own coat. Why?
“We were going to get you and Panda on board.” Wildcat sighed. “But we weren’t sure who was in on it.”
“Well, I’m not…”
“But you’re also against what we did,” said Wildcat.
“If they were going to kill us...then why should I care?” Vanoss asked. He was shaking as he tried to sound firm. He didn’t know what the others would’ve done, or all of this could be a lie to get Vanoss on their side.
“If you listened, then maybe we could’ve trusted you,” Delirious said.
Vanoss rolled his eyes. “And you don’t trust me?”
“I did, but it’s difficult—”
“You killed Moo and Fourzer0seven, and you...” he glared at Wildcat. “You’re my best friend, and you killed Basically and Terroriser. What was I supposed to feel after seeing all of that?” He ignored the way his voice was slightly high pitched, his control on his emotions was slipping, the desperation making him panic. Oh shit, he had to get away from them and find Panda, but there was no way he was going to…
Vanoss gasped as a gun went off. Wildcat hit the floor, then another sound pierced the air, and Delirious yelled out in pain.
“Evan!” Panda was standing by the hall that led to Admin, including Security. He was holding one of the guns in weapons to Vanoss’ far left.
He got to his feet, sprinting past a groaning Wildcat as Vanoss kicked the gun he was trying to get too. It spun away and he ignored Wildcat’s curse as he bled from his leg.
“V-Vanoss, wait!” Delirious calls.
He slowed, heart racing, as he twisted around and looked at Delirious’ wide blue eyes, including the knife that was in the air and struck Vanoss in the shoulder. The pain was instantaneous as he stumbled back, gasping out, then letting out a curse as he hit the ground.
“Fuck, shit, stupid Delirious!” Vanoss got to his feet and stumbled toward Panda who was telling him to hurry up. “Where were you?” he asked as he stepped over the threshold, and he watched Panda press a button, and the doors came down.
“Weapons for awhile...had no idea what was going on. I fixed the lights, then I went to Security.” Panda did not look good right now, and Vanoss knew that he had seen their bodies. “I saw you on the cameras,” he said, then gestured to the knife in Vanoss’ arm, and he had to stay still for a second as Panda wrenched it out. Vanoss swore under his breath as he took off his coat to cover the wound. “I had to do something, so I closed the doors on each side of the cafeteria. I wasn’t sure if you were alive until I got to this part of the ship.”
“And?” he asked as they headed to Security.
“I slowly turned off the air supply,” Panda said grimacing. Basically’s body was covered with a blanket.
“Did you do the same with the others?” he asked.
Panda nodded, then gestured for Vanoss to come over to the cameras. What he saw was Wildcat and Delirious banging on the doors, yelling at the cameras. Two were out thanks to Wildcat’s gun.
“They’ll be out soon, but if they do manage to find a way.” Panda pointed at three weapons sitting on a chair, including a few mags.
“Holy fuck,” Vanoss said under his breath. Panda took out a first aid and looked closer at Vanoss’ wound.
“These fuckers killed our friends…”
“The others were going to do the same to us,” Vanoss said. This was so bad, if only he spoke to the others, asked about it. He couldn’t believe it, and the shock was stalling out any other thoughts in his head.
“I want to believe it was a misunderstanding,” said Panda. “We won’t know now that they’re dead. And we can’t let these ones out in case they try to kill us.”
He spent a bit of time sewing up the wound in Vanoss’ arm, then placing a bandage over it. Vanoss took pain killers, and tried to relax in a chair.
Vanoss stared at the cafeteria, watching as Wildcat and Delirious were realizing quite quickly they were losing air. Once they do, they’ll have to tie them up, make sure they don’t escape. Even that was frightening, Wildcat was good at planning, while Delirious was good at sneaking up others.
“How far off are we?” Vanoss asked.
Panda shrugged. “The last time I checked, we’re about eight days from our destination.”
Great. That’s wonderful.
Vanoss leaned against the chair. He kept his eyes on the camera, watching his friends fall to the floor like the others. Once they did, there was still some parts of the ship they had to maintain, so they took turns after they fixed Comms to keep in contact with one another. Vanoss went to clean up his friends' blood, their bodies, fixing Electrical, and as he walked to Reactor, all he can think about was where it all began.
He pressed his back to the wall and slid to the floor. He might’ve cried for a bit, then went to work, walked back to Security, updated Panda in Comms. Watched the cams, and his unconscious friends, then they had to head inside to tie them up. Make sure they were in a secure room, away from any weapons, at least until they reach their destination in eight days.
Eight days.
They were so close, but a lot can happen in a day, in an hour, in several minutes, and seconds. He just wished what happened, didn’t happen at all.

. . .
He spent almost a few hours running through endless halls, past heavy doors, others were so cold, or hot, or some without doorknobs, but he was able to get through about…maybe forty-eight before taking a deep breath.
“I fucking hate this,” he said, leaning back against the wall.
The reason why he was spending so much time here is that he and a few of his friends found a weird door. It sounds strange, and isn’t meant to be a joke, but now that he’s alone in some odd fun house, he hardly thinks this is a good time to start laughing.
“Let me out you fucker!” Vanoss banged his fists against the wall. The sound echoed inside the small room before he slumped down. The worse thing about this is that if he doesn’t keep on moving, the lights in the halls he had come from, including the room he’s in right now, will fall into complete darkness.
That’s also the last thing he wants is to linger in the dark. He needs light, he needs to know where the fuck he is going. He didn’t want to stay like this, so Vanoss pushed himself to his feet and continued his venture through the many similar halls and rooms.
He thinks maybe another hour has gone by when he heard familiar voice up ahead. As he drew closer, his heart racing, he shoved open another door and unfortunately tripped over his own feet and landed hard on the uneven wooden floor.
“Evan?”
He peered up and spotted one of his friends in a completely different and strange room. It wasn’t as fancy with the red, black, and white striped wallpaper, the walls here were stripped completely and revealed rotting wood underneath, all of it barely hanging completely together with the rusted nails. The smell here was stagnant, and something akin to burnt paper.
“Holy shit,” Vanoss said under his breath as his friend came to help him up from the floor, “Panda, how did you make it?”
It seemed all a hopeless endeavor, but his friend looked as close as he did. Sweat on his brow, dry mouth, exhaustion in the eyes, and a tiredness too real for the both of them to consider in such a place.
“I don’t know, to be honest,” Panda said, letting out a short awkward laugh.
Vanoss wasn’t so sure either how he survived. He looked back at the door that was left open, and grimaced at the halls and rooms he had just escaped from. Panda closed it, while Vanoss pushed back his sweaty strands of hair from his face. They were so sore from what they both had gone through. He noticed it in the way Panda shifted, unable to look at Vanoss.
“Have you seen the others?” Vanoss asked, rubbing his arms, then his shoulders. He was so tired, and he spotted a bruise on the sides of his hands whenever he banged them hard on the walls. Within those walls, he made no dent, but it surely made itself known upon him.
He was human, and this place was a nightmare, eating them alive.
Panda shook his head. “I only just got here right before you.”
Ah, that doesn’t help. They’ll have too—
The same door that Vanoss had shoved open slammed against the wall, dust sprinkled around them as another figure tripped and hit the floor.
They grunted loudly, gasping, then scrambling away from the door as the three of them watched it slam shut on its own.
Vanoss caught the second before the door closed that the halls and rooms he had come from were no longer the same. This person who he recognized completely appeared from another area from his own, maybe even Panda.
“Nogla, Nogla,” Panda was knelt down before their fidgeting friend while Vanoss had been too occupied on the door. “It’s okay, you’re okay.”
“Fuck, fuck this place!” Nogla’s voice echoed throughout the small dilapidated room.
“What happened?” Vanoss asked, helping Panda lift Nogla to his feet. The man was tall and thin, but he was weak from the ordeal he had gone through. Vanoss wouldn’t ignore the dried blood splot on his hem.
“Carnival, or some bullshit,” Nogla said, wiping off the dust that had sprinkled on his clothes. He was bruised upon his brow, and along the side of his face. All faint, darkening by the hour. “Chased by a stupid clown.”
“Is that how you got your bruises?” Panda remarked.
Nogla nodded, scowling as he pressed his hand to his face. His knuckles were also bruised, he had cut near his wrist, and an odd mark on the side of his hand.
“What is that?” Vanoss asked, pointing the mark out.
Nogla turned his hand. “I had to get in somehow, right?”
“They marked you just to get into a carnival.”
“That’s how it is, instead of those stupid stamps you can wash off, this one’s permanent, and it wasn’t consensual,” Nogla said, growling at the end as he hid the mark from their view with his sleeve.
Well, that’s just wonderful. “Have you seen the others?”
Nogla shook his head. “I thought I spotted Basically, but I’m pretty sure that’s the last place he’d want to find himself in.”
“And...how did you end up here?”
“Funhouse,” Nogla rubbed his hands together and frowned at the door behind him. “I entered a funhouse, mirrors all over the place, then boom...a clown showed up, and I found myself here.”
Vanoss nodded slowly. “I was in an endless corridor...for maybe the past five hours or so.”
Nogla grimaced. “Ah, sorry...that sucks, you want to switch next time?”
“I guess.”
“We should find the others,” said Panda.
Vanoss and Nogla agreed. It would be so much better if they seeked out the others and see if they were okay. Nogla was hesitant to go near the door, so when Vanoss took the handle and twisted it, the metal scraping along metal was all too familiar as he pulled the door open.
The room on the other side was completely different from what Vanoss would’ve expected. He imagined a carnival that Nogla had been in, and the long endless corridors that he was cruelly subjected too. All the colors oddly blending together in a nauseating stream, but they weren’t met with that. Instead, they stood before another room, square and wide, and it wasn’t empty.
“Marcel,” Nogla breathed, stepping past Vanoss and into the room.
Vanoss glanced over at Panda, then blinked, heart pounding, and he closed the door behind him. He followed Nogla over to Marcel who was sitting on the ground, his knees brought to his chest.
“Is he?” Vanoss asked cautiously.
Nogla shook his head, kneeling down beside Basically and nudging him in the shoulder. “Marcel, wake up.”
He woke with a jolt, gasping in air, while his eyes widened at the sight of them. He even moved away, trembling, until he got a hold of himself.
“Holy shit…” he covered his face with his hands. “Where were you guys?”
“In the next room?” Nogla said, scowling, not at Basically, but at the idea that the rooms shifted around so much and they couldn’t find their way. “So to speak.”
He was nodding, then settling, yet unable to stop the trembling as he gave Vanoss a smile. “I’m happy to see you’re both okay.”
“Same.” Vanoss rubbed his arms again. “Have you seen the others?”
“The last person I saw was Brock next to a dead body,” Basically said bitterly.
“What do you mean by ‘dead body’?” Nogla asked.
“Like I said, it was dead, unmoving, Moo was in one of those fucking trances, so I didn’t want to stick around,” Basically shook his head. “Tyler showed up not too long after, so I’m sure he’s with him somewhere.”
“Well, we all showed up together…” Nogla glanced back, then Vanoss nudged him with his knee.
He didn’t really want to confront it, and watching Nogla’s expression twist into both realization and distress was not helping. He turned back to Basically.
“We saw Panda not too long ago,” Vanoss said.
“I’m more interested in what was Panda doing that whole time,” said Nogla, he was tense, but nothing else.
“Where is he?” Basically asked.
“We don’t know,” Vanoss told him. “We got separated.”
They were quiet until they heard thumping from a door they hadn’t noticed to their far left. Nogla helped Basically to his feet while Vanoss stared at the door, and when no one was coming out of it, they closed in on the door and the noise.
He reached for the door, and when he pulled it open, they weren’t in the same halls and corridors, nothing old and ruined, but a street with a dark sky, and one streetlight with two figures underneath.
“Are we out?” Basically asked, stepping closer to it as Vanoss and Nogla followed after.
“I don’t think it’d be that fucking easy,” said Nogla.
Yet Vanoss stared at the two figures once they walked out of the door. He glanced back. There was no door. Where were they now?
“That’s a real bitch move, Brock, if you ask me.”
“Tyler!” Basically called, waving his hand.
The both of them looked to the trio, and Wildcat seemed to be the only one who was happy to see them. Moo was knelt on the asphalt, hands pressed down as well. There was something dark around his mouth, and he spit more out onto the ground.
Vanoss shivered at the cold autumn air. “What the fuck is going on?”
“Asshole, what’d you do with the dead body?” Basically asked to Moo who was still coughing up blood.
Wildcat sighed, stepping forward to stop Basically. “Hey, he didn’t kill anyone.”
“I saw him, Tyler,” Basically said, backing up and glaring down at Moo.
“I didn’t kill anyone…” Moo said, voice weak.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” Nogla asked. Vanoss wanted to know that too since he rarely seen Moo looked this distressed, and covered in blood.
“We escaped from a room, and let me tell you...Brock barely had much fun when he was surrounded by weirdly sculped body parts that came to life, he took one out when he disappeared, Basically” Wildcat said, shrugging. “I came out unscathed, which is hardly unexpected.”
Vanoss glanced around the street. “Do you know where we are?”
“I’m thinking we’re at the end,” said Basically.
Nogla was nodding. “Same. It’s the only other reason we don’t see any walls or doors anymore.”
“Unless we end up finding one,” said Wildcat.
Moo was getting to his feet, wiping off the blood. “Which way do we go?” he panted.
There were three directions. The one behind them, and two on either side.
“I don’t see how it matters,” Vanoss said with a sigh. He just wanted all of this to end. He turned to the left and started walking, unsure if his friends would follow, and when they did, he was relieved because walking down this long endless road, dark and treacherous without being able to fully see his way made it oddly impossible for him to do this alone.
“Have you seen the others?” Wildcat asked.
“No,” Nogla said softly. “I’m sure we’ll find them soon.”

Daithi De Wildcat - Pax Convention
It was the first day of Pax, Nogla had met up with a few of the others for the convention and decided to stay with them in the hotel they had picked out for the time being. Of course Daithi knew people in LA but he figured it would be nice hanging out with his friends since they were only staying like a week or two, plus most of the people lived a little more then a hour away. And he rarely got to hang out with the guys in the group since he lives in Ireland and doesn’t want to go on a 8 hour flight to visit them for like 2 weeks.
That morning Tyler, Smitty and Scotty had already left the hotel to grab breakfast and head early to the Convention since some of their old friends were there for a short while. After a few hours Nogla and Craig decided to come over as well since they haven’t seen the guys all day.
Nogla walked around with Craig by his side, basically jumping up and down from how excited he was for the convention. Nogla has only been to one before and he was never as excited as Craig, and Craig has gone to many more the Daithi which surprised him a bit. They were originally supposed to meet up with Tyler, Smitty and Scott since they left the hotel a few hours ago,but they were no where to be seen as they walked around. Nogla kept checking his phone for any new messages from them but nothing was sent. He could tell Craig was getting impatient as they walked, after all they only had like 4 or 5 more hours til the convention was over for the day.
“Nogla have they texted you yet about where they are?” Craig asked as he looked over at Nogla’s phone to check.
“Damn it Craig calm your ass down, we will find them, this place is packed” Nogla said as he turned the screen on again to check for like the hundredth time. But in little time he heard a gasp from Craig and felt him tugging his sleeve like a little kid. Nogla followed Craig threw the crowd of people to the bathroom area.
And there stood Tyler against the wall. Wearing a blue flannel and ripped jeans with a pair of Addis. He had his phone out and looked like he was bored as ever as he stood there.but as he looked up at them he smiled from ear to ear. Suddenly Nogla felt his heartbeat getting faster and a blush rise to his cheeks as Tyler smiled at him. Yes he did have a small crush on him but he wouldn’t let it get in the way of their friendship. At least he thought.
Ever since they all started recording together actually. Just the sound of his voice makes a smile rise on Daithi’s face. His strong laugh and his snarky comments. Nogla loved everything about the man standing in front of them. He just didn’t know how to say it to him, after all he has dated girls in the past and they think he’s straight. Mini smiled and yelled Tyler’s name out, followed by him hugging Mini tight. He looked at Daithi and gave him a hug to. But not like Craig’s bear hug, a soft one, like he didn’t want to break his ribs.
“Why are you over here Tyler? Where’s Smitty and Scott at?” Craig started asking.
“Ah well Scott went back to the hotel cause he felt sick and Smitty is in the toilet actually” Tyler said sliding his phone back in his pocket. Craig sorta gave a pout like a 4 year old not getting what he wanted at the toy store. Nogla let out a small laugh as he watched him pout standing there. Soon after Smitty came out and smiled at us as well but not with a very warming welcome as Wildcat.
“Come on come on I want to see some shit now guys” Craig said crossing his arms as he stared at them.
“Well stop being a whiny bitch and we’ll go” Tyler replied as Craig started walking to lead the way with Smitty right beside him. Nogla let out another laugh from Tyler’s comment as he walked behind with Him.
Tyler smiled at him, he loved seeing Nogla laugh, and loved seeing his smile. Always when the group did FaceTime on their phones he looked at Nogla the most. The way he looks was just perfect to Tyler. He loved that Nogla didn’t take his yelling at him so personal and that he could always joke with him. Tyler let out a small sigh as they followed after the two. He really wasn’t that interested in getting anything, neither was Nogla. They just came to see each other and for Craig and Smitty to go bat shit crazy and buy stuff from the games that they play.
After a few hours for the gang Tyler and Nogla decided to just sit a side and let the two come to them when they are done. Nogla just let out a laugh and looked at them walk away quickly like the store was going to close in 5 minutes.
“They are like little children at a candy store” Nogla said, his Irish accent really showing in his words. Tyler let out a little chuckle and copied the sentence in his best Irish accent impression like he normally does with the stuff Nogla says, which made Nogla laugh as well. Nogla stared into Tyler’s blue eyes and smiled at him for a few seconds before he caught himself. Nogla quickly looked away with a blush on his face, Tyler caught the redness on his face and smiled as his face heated up as well. And as they both tried to hide their blush away from each other Craig and Smitty came back almost immediately, even though they were only gone for like a minute or two.
“Get a room you two” Smitty said as they walked up to them, making Nogla jump a little bit. Tyler rolled his eyes as he stood up and offered Nogla a hand to help him up, which he took. Smitty smirked at Tyler’s doing when Nogla stood up.
“You guys are done? No more shopping for today” Nogla asked confused a little bit since they have only been sitting there for a few minutes ever since they left to go shop a little more since they didn’t get all th shopping they wanted done for the day.
“Yeah we finished there wasn’t that much left, so can we get going or something, maybe get food on the way” Craig said as he looked threw his bag that he had real quick to make sure he had everything he bought. Nogla rolled his eyes as Craig looked up and shrugged like he didn’t know if his idea was good or bad.
“No you can get your own food Craig on your way back cause I’m not hungry right now. But yeah we can get going” Tyler said as they started to make their way towards the exit of the convention. They started to walk down the street, Craig showed Nogla what all he got as they walked and Nogla showed little to no interest as he talked about the things he bought.
“But really Nogla you should have bought this shirt too, you love Call of Duty” Craig said as he held the shirt out in front of him to show Daithi. Nogla rolled his eyes with a sigh as he brought out his phone so he would have another thing to look at for the time being.
“You should really tell him Tyler” Smitty said as they walked further behind the other two. Tyler whipped his head around and looked at Smitty with complete confusion. Which Smitty returned with a smirk.
“You know what I’m talking about Tyler, I see the way you look at him” Smitty said with a small laugh as Tyler blushed deep red, was it really that noticeable that I like him? Tyler thought as he walked down with Smitty. “Just saying man you should, can’t you tell he likes you as well” Smitty said making a point to Tyler. Tyler let out a sigh as he looked towards the ground. Smitty held his shoulder.
“I’ll tell you what,I’ll take Craig to go get some food since I’m getting a little bit hungry and you confess to him or at least do something with him” Smitty said as he walked faster up a head to catch up with the other guys before Tyler could say anything.
“Craig let’s go get some food, I’m hungry” Smitty said as he took Craig down the opposite side of the street from where the hotel they were staying at was. Tyler could see the confused expression on Craig face but Smitty just slapped the back of his head and pointed forward, probably telling him why or at least trying to.Tyler face palmed as they walked away from them, “why did Smitty have to do this to me” He thought. And now he was left with Nogla all to himself. Things were a bit awkward at first since they just left out of no where but they went back to normal soon after.
Tyler look over at Nogla as he fixed his glasses that he was wearing, Tyler started to blush as he watched him fiddle with the lenses, trying to fix them as best he could. That’s honestly why he didn’t wear his any more, he had to constantly fix them but it was cute watching a Nogla fiddle with them. Nogla looked over at him with a confused smile, Tyler looked away to hide the redness as Nogla slipped them back in on to face face and looked back in front of him. “Ye think they’ll bring back food for us?” Nogla said as he looked across the street at all the buildings in the evening sky.
“Probably, I don’t really know about them. If you think about it they will probably eat our food from how much shopping they did today” Tyler said as he let out a little chuckle.
“or spit in it” Nogla said as he laughed, Tyler looked at him and started laughing as well as he playfully shoved him over.
“If they ever did that I would punch them so hard right in faces” Tyler said as took a swing at the air to show a demonstration to Nogla of how hard he would punch them, making him roll his eyes.
“Well if they do,I’ll just dish it right back at them. And you will help me too” Nogla said with a light blush on his cheeks as he smiled at Tyler.
As they talked and walked down the street together it seemed like time flew by quick since they made it to the hotel in like 20 minutes. They walked inside the building and went up the stairs since the hotel only had 3 floors. Nogla brought out his keys as they walked down the hall so he had them when he opened the door.
Nogla walked into his room and so did Tyler after him.As Tyler sat down on Nogla’s bed, Daithi stood in front of him and brought out his phone to see that Craig texted him earlier.Tyler sighed as he looked at Nogla in his deep brown eyes as he stared down at his phone. He stood up from the bed and right in front of Daithi. Tyler looked at him for a few more seconds and then leaned into The man in front of him.Locking their lips together as the result. Nogla hesitated but kissed back after a few seconds, his heart was beating out of his chest at a rapid speed. After a few seconds Tyler pulled back, his face was deep red as he quickly looked away from Nogla. Nervous that he did the wrong thing.
The room was silent until Nogla softly grabbed Tyler’s chin to face him directly. Nogla smiled as he leaned in and kissed Tyler’s lips again. Tyler wrapped his arms around Nogla’s waist as he pulled him closer to himself. As Nogla pulled back for air he looked into Tyler’s bright blue eyes and red face.
“I like you too Tyler, I always have actually” Nogla said as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously with a dark red blush that tinted his cheeks from kissing the man that he has had a crush on for more then a few years. Tyler cupped Nogla’s cheeks and let out a reassuring sigh as he smiled. He kissed Nogla’s forehead and hugged him tight like he didn’t want to let go. “I’m so glad you do.” Tyler said as they hugged still. Feeling eachother’s heartbeat since they were so close
“How about we watch something on the T.V then since they won’t be back for a while” Nogla asked with a smile as he looked at Tyler. And without saying anything Tyler leaned back with Nogla still in his arms and fell onto the bed with him. They both started to laugh as Tyler reached for the remote on the table, Nogla still in his arms. He smiled as he looked into Nogla’s eyes before pecking his lips once more before he cuddled into his chest.
Meanwhile outside their door looking through their window. Scott stood and smiled as he had Smitty on the phone asking him questions about what they are doing at the moment.
“He did it dude, he confessed.” Scott said and couldn’t help but smile even more then he already did. He was so happy for them. As he walked back to the room next door since that’s where he was staying he was telling Smitty what all he saw, knowing that he would probably come to the hotel and congratulate Tyler for not being a pussy about his feelings for Nogla. Scott let out a little chuckle as he imagined it as Smitty hung up the call and said that they were coming back in like 30 minutes so they would have time to do stuff alone. Plus when he gets back he will probably make Craig switch rooms with Tyler so they can be together more. All he knew was Smitty was going to do something for them when he got back with Craig from getting food. And it would probably help them out in the rest of the convention.
