general:

the sides work with a kind of cartoon logic (kinda like who framed Roger rabbit) which is what their shape shifting and such is, they can survive pretty much everything, dont bend to reality type thing

i also dig playing around with the idea that they just arent human, they dont need to eat, sleep, even breathe or blink if they dont wanna. They just play more human around thomas so they dont freak him out (everyone but remus at least, dude doesnt give a fuck lol) they all have their priorities regarding that kinda stuff. like logan doesnt eat or sleep almost at all (there r exceptions tho obvi (crofters))  while patton rly likes to cook and bake so why not eat the stuff you make? meanwhile remus eats literally anything he can find

they can also float if they wanna, same thing where they just dont around thomas. this came about me just imagining remus consistently floating around in the mindscape instead of walking for whatever reason? so yeah they can do that

theres a core mindscape and a ‘dark’ mindscape, that sorta works like the upside down from stranger things (as in the dark mindscape is like literally upside down and mirrors everything, like this)

everyones also got their own unique doors to their rooms. logans is very sleek and modern, pattons in more childlike and almost vintage, romans resemble castle doors while remus’ is more like a dungeons, virgils is typically angsty teenager with tons of posters and ‘keep out’ signs, and janus has tons of locks on his

design wise the core sides have straight teeth and fluffier hair while the dark sides have sharp teeth and rougher(?) hair (since changing, virgil has vampire-esque fangs)

logan:

square rimmed glasses

loves the rain

unintentionally fidgets with his clothes, always adjusting his glasses or rolling his sleeves up and down or messing with the buttons or his tie

playing more into the whole ‘sides dont have to eat thing’ he finds food kinda nasty lol, again only rly eats stuff thats very good to him (ultimate picky eater basically) patton has tried and failed many times to get logan to try and like new foods

roman was the one who got him to try crofters

Levi does incredible! I've always HC'd that Levi would change almost all the baby's diapers. You carried the baby for nine months and you went into labour for hours on end and your healing process takes a while. He will be shocked at the colour of it and worry a bit, but then he would look at his baby books and online chats and see it is very normal. We would talk to his baby the whole time, he'd make comments on their dirty bum and how weird their poop was. He'd be so gentle with cleaning them. He'd kiss their tummy, feet, hands and their face.

How does Levi and his s/o (can be self ship of course :) ) handle trying to get to all of babies needs in those early days as parents?

You'd both be a well-oiled machine. You will find that Levi will do almost everything for the baby and you. In Levi's mind, you have already done plenty! So, he will get up in the middle of the night for the baby and tend to them so you can get as much sleep as possible. During the day when Levi rests, you will look after the baby. You will be very organised, but you won't be pressured to follow the routine you and Levi had made together. Levi will pretty much be over-prepared.

It's a rainy day and outdoor plans are cancelled, how does Levi spend it/ spend it with you?

The sofa gets set up with blankets and cushions. You'll have hot drinks and snacks as we cuddle up on the sofa. You'd sit on the sofa together and cuddle. You'd watch movies together and if you play video games you would play games with each other, mostly comfort games. Indoor dates are really your favourite kind of dates. Levi will want a lot of cuddles and kisses. He will hold you all day long and even have a little nap with you. The two of you will not cook but have a lovely takeaway instead.

what meal does Levi request from you on his birthday?

He would want the first meal you ever made him when you first started living together. The meal he had when he came home from work to you for the first time ever. He adored coming home and seeing you living there with him and you'd cooked him the most incredible dinner he'd ever had. He was so full of love and wanted you in his life for eternity.

Is there a tv show you like binging together?

I don't watch many TV shows, I'm more of a movie person. I think Levi would be similar. He would hate reality TV and would strongly dislike game shows as well. I think maybe he'd like shows like Expedition Unknown with Josh Gates, where he goes to different countries to find lost treasures and history as well. Any show that has dark comedy in it, like inside no 9 and league of gentlemen. He'd find always sunny funny as well.

If there was unlimited time/money/space how many dogs would he want?

It's really how many he would let me have ahah! I love dogs. I think Levi would happily have four maximum, but two would be the perfect number for him. Both would be well-trained but also spoiled. They would get lots of love and cuddles.

some fun facts about Luis and André Peña(his VA)

(from the Nick Apostolides(Leon Kennedy VA) livestreams, because i think Luis is neato and i liked André's performance, especially for a first-time big VA gig!)

-André actually auditioned for the Spanish cops that escort Leon to Valdelobos originally, and went through several more auditions before landing the role of Luis Serra. for his first role on a big project like Resident Evil, that's incredibly impressive! (timestamp)

-Both Nick and André did motion capture for multiple enemies, including André calling his "best role" playing a dead body lmao. He and Nick also did mocap for the Verdugos, Salazar's bodyguards! (timestamp)

-Being that it was such a big role, he was very anxious about the game dropping, from the moment he got cast to the day it dropped. He even apparently asked Nick constantly if he had somehow been recast. (poor dude, as someone with anxiety issues and huge imposter syndrome, i feel for him!!!) Nick gives him a very sweet but stern pep talk about how he earned and deserved his role on stream too, it was a cute moment! tbh I didn’t realize how popular this was with you guys which is why I didn’t hurry to write this next part. but if y’all really love it and give me your thoughts (& even ideas on how to continue) I’m definitely willing to write more!!

"Sshh, sshh. It's okay, it's okay." Mat's soft voice woke you from a short, but deep sleep. You turned as your eyes fluttered open to see him sat up against the headboard soothing your baby girl. "I'm here. You're okay."

Your hand reached up to cradle her tiny head. "She might be hungry. What time is it?"

"Almost four. It hasn't been that long since you last fed her. But look, she's already falling back asleep." His smile grew and you sat up as well to see her eyes slowly closing. "She's so cute."

"She is." You kissed her head and then leaned against Mat's shoulder. "And so big. One month already."

"It went by so fast. I don't want her to grow up."

The last month since you baby girl, Myla, was born was the most stressful and tiring but also the most beautiful and exciting time. The new sleeping schedule was difficult to adjust to and your recovery was harder than expected. People really should talk about it more. But getting to experience both you and Mat become parents and your baby explore the world was indescribable. She already outgrew her newborn sized clothes and loved being awake looking around the room. She loved sleeping in her stroller while you took her on walks, where you and Mat stopped to get ice cream or coffee. Both of your families had come to visit, too, and of course all of your friends. They loved her and you were so grateful for the amazing support system.

Mat's season had ended a couple of days after Myla's birth, but not after his birthday which you unfortunately had to spend apart. But he was home now and took such good care of the both of you. Although the three of you did spend a lot of time in bed, you made it a goal to go outside for walks at least a few times a week. Your family didn't live far so they were able to visit and you even went to visit them a few times when you felt brave enough to leave the house.

"Oh, my god!" Mats voice brought you back to consciousness. You hadn't realized you were falling back asleep on his shoulder until his voice brought you back.

"What?"

"She pooped. Did you not hear that? That was gr– Oh! Ew! Babe, it's leaking out." He started panicking, then gagged as he held her away from his body. "What do I do? What do I do?"

You laughed, falling back into the pillows as you watched him struggle for what his next move should be. "Babe! This is so gross! Help me!"

"Well, go change her!" You watched him, still laughing, as he carried her with extended arms, trying not to gag again. "It doesn't even smell. There's only one baby in this room and it's not her."

He started undressing her, groaning from the mess she had made. "Oh my god, it's everywhere. How? How is her stomach so big to hold that much?"

You got up to see for yourself, making sure beforehand to take a video of Mat trying to handle this situation. "Yeah, we should give her a bath. That is pretty bad."

"It's the middle of the night!"

"So? She's dirty." You laughed patting him on the shoulder. "Welcome to parenthood."

At one month old, babies couldn't laugh yet, but the noises she made could definitely count as it. So you prepped her bathtub. She was small enough to do it in the sink, so it didn't take long to fill the tub with the right temperature water. When Mat put her in, she started screaming. She hated baths for the most part, but unfortunately she had to get through it. She calmed down after a while, enjoying the little massage you were giving her to get her clean. Mat put his arm around you and kissed the top of your head.

"You know, a year ago I definitely would not have imagined us doing this at 4 a.m., but I wouldn't change it for the world."

July

"Ugh, she's so cute."

"So adorable."

"Her little nose. And those cheeks."

"I love her so much," you said, not being able to look up from where your daughter was sleeping in her stroller. You stood around her with Mat's sister and mother, just staring at her. You were supposed to go on a walk to go get lunch, but for some reason (a very cute and sleeping reason) you still hadn't left yet.

"Me, too. Watch out I might steel her," Liana said jokingly. She hugged you tightly. "Thank you for making me an auntie. I thought I'd have to wait for years."

"You almost had to." You didn't want to call your daughter an accident, because she truly was a blessing, but let's not pretend you were trying to become parents. You both tried to contain your laughs, as their mother was right there.

"Okay, let's go," Nadia broke you two up and took ahold of the stroller, before walked out of the house. You followed her, Liana fighting her mother for the right to push the stroller.

A couple days ago, Mat, Myla, and you made it up to Vancouver to spend a few weeks with his family. Myla just turned two months a few days ago and you finally felt comfortable enough to fly with her. A lot of family and friends came over to see her, but things had finally calmed down a bit.

"So, any wedding plans?," Liana asked, after you had made it to the restaurant and the food arrived.

You raised your eyebrows, a small laugh escaping. "How long have you been waiting to ask me that?" She laughed. "Since last time!" And that was about a year ago when you had told her you were pregnant. Mat shut her down immediately, saying you'd wait until after she was born. "Well...?"

"I don't know," you answered. "We haven't really thought about it."

"Oh, come on. You need to get married! For her and for me!" You laughed and her mother elbowed her. "What? I know it's selfish, but please! It would be the most beautiful wedding, I just know it."

She started gushing about her dream wedding for you, detailing everything from flowers to venue to table cloths. Her mother chimed in, equally as excited about the idea. Normally you would have been too, but for some reason the idea of a big wedding didn't seem exciting to you anymore.

And that's what you told Mat later that night when you were ready to go to sleep while feeding Myla. "Your sister, well and mom, are already making wedding plans, just so you know."

He rolled his eyes. "How many times have I told them it's none of their business?"

Myla was done eating, so you handed her over to Mat so he could burp her. "It's fine. It was kind of fun to talk about and see everything we could come up with. But funnily enough, all my life I've dreamed of a big wedding like that, even just a few months ago I would have agreed to it. But now, I don't know, I don't really want that anymore."

"Really?" You looked up at his green eyes.

"Yeah, I don't know. I'd rather have a small thing, with just family and our closest friends. And baby Myla of course."

"That sounds good to me." He leaned to kiss your forehead with a smile and cradled your baby's head.

"Wanna get married? Might as well, we already have a kid." You said it with a laughing tone, expecting him to laugh as well or brush the topic off like you had done since he first asked you about getting married. But he didn't. He jumped out of bed, put Myla in her bassinet, and left the room.

You sat there, shocked. You didn't expect that reaction as well. You were serious about getting married. A couple weeks after Myla had been born you realized that you were being silly before. Of course you wanted to marry him and you knew that he loved you and didn't stay with your just before the baby.

Thankfully, before you could process what just happened, Mat came back and sat back down next to you. "I'm the one that gets to ask that question!," he said, which is when you noticed the little red box in his hand. You mouth opened in shock. Now that, you definitely also didn't expect. "What? You really think I didn't got out and get you a ring after you said no the first time? Please, you can't get rid of me."

"Mat..." He smiled, cupping your cheeks with his big hands before kissing you softly.

"Baby? Do you want to marry me? I don't care about the big wedding anymore either. We literally could go down to city hall tomorrow and do it there. I don't care. I just want you and baby Myla. Now will you please do me the honor of not rejecting me for the millionth time and finally saying yes to being my wife?"

"You are such a jerk," you said as the tears rolled down your face. You were still pretty hormonal and you had a feeling it wouldn't go away. "But yes, I'll marry you."

"Finally." He pressed his lips against yours for a deep kiss that had you falling back against the mattress. But you couldn't fully enjoy the moment for very long, before baby Myla made herself known. You got her out and held her in your arms, soothing her, while Mat held you close to his body pressing tiny kissed against your head.

"Ok, let me see the ring," you whispered when your baby girl calmed and started drifting into sleep. Mat opened the box with a chuckle, as your moth fell open.

"Like it?" You nodded and held your hand out for him to slip the ring on. While it didn't fit as well as it would have pre-pregnancy, at least you were assured that it wouldn't randomly fall off. "Kind is weird that we're doing this at my parents house, but I'll take what I can get. It's your fault though."

"Wha- Why?"

"I was scared as hell to propose to you again. I didn't want to be rejected again."

"Mat, I didn't reject you. I just– I didn't want to get married while pregnant." He cupped your face again with a chuckle.

"I know, I know. I'm just joking." He kissed you over and over again, until you realized that Myla was asleep and you could put her back in her bed.

Mat pulled you on his chest as you both laid down. "Wait, were you kidding about city hall tomorrow?," you asked, keeping your voice low.

"Not really. You wanna do it?" You looked up at him and shrugged.

"Kind of." You both smiled wide. "But wait, no. My family. I want them there."

"Okay, well we could ask them to come here? Or would you rather wait and do it back in New York?"

"Here is good." You fell in love with Vancouver the minute you got out of the airport the first time you came, so getting married here was not an issue for you. "Yeah, I'll just ask my family and some friends if and when they'd be available to come up."

"Okay. We can just invite people and whoever can make it, can make it. If not, then we can always have another little something in New York." You nodded, excitement filling your body.

"But if we're inviting a bunch of people, we can't do it at city hall."

"There's lots of parks and venues around here."

"Or your parents back yard?" You both thought about it for a second, then Mat smiled.

"Yeah, i think they'd be cool with that."

You both giggled excitedly, then he pulled you fully on top of him. "Are we seriously getting married in a few days?"

"Unless you don't want to," you responded.

"You are never ever getting rid of me."

August 2nd

It was wedding day. After a crazy busy 10 days, the day was finally here.

When you had told Mat's family the news the day after you got engaged, they were very excited. His sister screamed so loud, she scared the baby but you couldn't go soothe her since she had you trapped in a massive bear hug. She immediately started planning and listing everything you would need. Everyone was involved in making flowers arrangements, cooking and baking for the party, and getting the house ready to host a wedding.

Your family got to Vancouver a few days before the wedding, also helping greatly. Once your best friends arrived as well, it was time to shop for a dress. While there wasn't much so last minute, you found the perfect simple little dress that you absolutely fell in love with. You even found a little white dress for Myla at a baby store near by.

"Thank you so much for coming." You hugged Sydney Martin tight, then her husband.

"Wouldn't miss this for the world." She smiled and you hugged her again. She had been very supportive and your closest friend during your pregnancy. Since she'd already been through it twice, and none of your friends had experience in that department, you spent a lot of time together. You were so grateful for her and were very thankful she could make it to your wedding.

While both you and Mat felt bad about getting married so last minute and therefore not having all of your friends present, having the ceremony now did feel right to the both of you. And that was all that mattered. And even still with short notice, a lot more of your friends than you expected could make it. With Mat's family, yours and your friends, your guest count was almost up to 50. So lots of people to celebrate your love, but still more intimate than a big wedding you almost had.

You spent the morning of you wedding setting up the tables and decorating everything. Around two, guests started arriving and since you treated this as more of a party, you had time to greet most everybody before having to get ready.

"Alright, time to get dressed." Liana came walking and grabbed your hand.

"Wait." Before she had a chance to pull you away, you turned to Mat to give him a kiss. He reciprocated with a smile. "See you on the other side."

"Love you." He winked, then slapped your ass, before turning back to his friend group.

You made another pit stop to grab your daughter from her grandparents to have her with you while you got ready. Your makeup base was done so all you added was some eyeshadow and eyeliner, while your best friend did your hair. Another friend made sure to take lots of pictures and videos of your day. You fed Myla one more time before handing her back off to your mom, who was going to watch her today so you and Mat could enjoy the day without worrying about her. Then it was time to put on your dress.

"Aw, babe, you look gorgeous."

"Stun-ning!"

Your closest girlfriends friends quickly came to hug and admire you, before posing for a few more pictures.

"Okay! Go time!" Liana, who basically acted as your wedding planner, called when it turned three o'clock. She pulled you into a quick hug. "Ready?"

You nodded, already on the verge of tears when reality started hitting you. You were about to marry your best friend.

"Good, because I am so ready to have you as my sister-in-law." She kissed your cheek and then started getting everyone ready and into position. You kissed your sleeping daughter one last time, then followed everyone downstairs to the backyard, where you were holding the ceremony and party.

Through the windows, you could see the garden beautifully decorated and everybody sitting outside waiting for it to start. You could also see Mat, standing below the flower arch at the end of the aisle, with his best friend and best man Anthony standing next to him as they talked and joked around.

Your mom walked out to find her seat and as soon as Mat saw Myla sleeping in her arms, his eyes lit up. He took her from your mom, gently as to not wake her, and pressed tiny kisses to her chubby cheeks. Your eyes got watery again, watching them and knowing that the overwhelming happiness you felt right now would not go away anytime soon.

The music got a bit louder which was your cue to head outside. Your bridesmaids walked before you, down the shirt aisle you had just helped built this morning. Then you followed, slowly, scared to trip, but not too slow as you were eager to get to Mat.

Mathew. Who looked even more handsome than you though possible, standing at the end of the aisle with that wide goofy grin of his. As you got closer though, you could see his eyes sparkling with tears.

"You look beautiful," he mouthed and stretched his hand out for you to take. You took it, immediately feeling calmer. You looked over to where Myla was sleeping in her carrier and with a reassuring nod from your mom that she was alright, you turned your full attention back to Mat.

And Anthony who in addition to being best man was also officiating your wedding. Over the past few years that you've known Beau, he also became one of your closest friends and you couldn't be happier to have him as Mylas goddaughter and now here to marry your number one best friend.

For the entirety of the ceremony, you felt like you were in a bubble. Only Mat and you. Holding hands. "When I look at the time we've been together,

I always have a smile on my face. Through all the ups and downs we've been through, the one thing that has remained constant is my love for you. The love I feel for you has gone from wild and free to me enjoying the little things about you like going for a walk, seeing your face across a breakfast table, and even changing disgusting poopy diapers in the middle of the night. Thankfully, before Mat even began his speech your made of honor handed you a tissue or your makeup would be ruined by now by the tears streaming down your face. 'Love you,' you whispered as you held your hand to his cheek. He smiled, with a quivering lip, and whispered it back. He took your hand and slipped diamond covered ring on your finger. Then you cleared your throat a couple of times and prepared to speak.

"Maty, you're my best friend. Ever since you flashed me that goofy grin of yours, I was gone for you. And I am so lucky you chose me to be on your team. And I promise you that I will choose you as my teammate. I choose you again and again. At the start and finish of every single day, no matter the season no matter the year. I choose you to struggle and succeed with, to fight and make up with, to love and grow old with.

And while I may have to send you to the sin bin sometimes, just know that I'll always be on your side and you can always count on me.

Seeing you grow and become the best father to our newest team member has been the biggest blessing. I am so proud you of. I hope I can make you just as proud. I love you and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

With shaking hands, it was your turn to slip a ring on Mat's finger. You didn't hear another word until Beau said those magic words: 'you may now kiss your bride'. And he did. Those big hands grabbed the sides of your face and pulled you into him until your lips met. He started out softly, but soon enough he was breathlessly while your friends and family clapped and cheered in the background.

You were married. An indescribable feeling floated through you all day, every since you walked down the aisle. Your ring glistened in the Vancouver sun that was starting to set as you chatted with your friends. You friend circle had shrunk every since you found out you were pregnant, a lot of your friends keeping distance and not keeping in touch as much anymore. You didn't blame them. You were still very young and a lot of them weren't ready to settle down or even be surrounded by people that weren't able to go out and get drunk every weekend. You didn't blame them because it took you a few months too to adjust to the idea of being a mother, but it made you even more grateful for the few friends that did stick around. They made you feel so special and supported during your pregnancy and even now they were already the best aunties for baby Myla.

Out of the corner of your eye you saw Mat walking towards you, holding Myla. That sight would never not blow you away and make you feel all warm inside. "This little lady is hungry." He held her out to you and you welcomed her with with cuddles and lots of kisses.

"Where were you?," you asked him as you got ready to feed your daughter.

"I just went to change her. I saw my mom take her in, but I wanted to do it." He answered you puzzled expression, "What? I've barely seen her today. I just wanted to spend a few minutes with her."

Your heart warmed and you leaned into his shoulder. But your moment didn't last very long as the party was already in full swing and people kept coming over to talk to you. You went back to talking to your friends as Mat got pulled away by his.

After Myla was done eating, you decided to put her down for bed and once again tracked Mat down to let him know. "Hey, I'm putting her down." He was sitting with a bunch of his teammates that were able to make it out here who all fawned over baby Myla.

"Come on! Just let me hold her," Oliver whined, stretching his arms out, but Mat slapped them away.

"Absolutely not!" Most of his teammates got to hold her when you first introduced her to them, but Wally was not one of them. He joked around too much around her and was untrustworthy around babies. Those were Mat's words, not yours. He was obviously very protective of his daughter if he wouldn't let his own teammate hold her.

"I won't drop her! Please? Oh, see! She's looking at me," Wally tried again while the rest of you laughed.

"Yeah, she's trying to tell you to shut up. It's not happening." While he was mostly serious, there were joking tones in Mat's voice. You definitely thought they were all just messing with him, so you stayed out of it.

"Hey! Daddy Barz said no, so it's a no," the other Matt (with two Ts) chimed in in his best dad voice, to which your Mat gave him nod of his head.

"That's right."

You rolled your eyes at their banter. "Alright, I'm really putting her down now." Mat stood, but leaned down to where you were holding Myla in your arms so that he could kiss her little head over and over again.

"Good night, princess. I love you." Then he straightened and put his lips on your. "And I love you, wife."

"Love you more, husband."

Who all has who in the mini thh au

Great question!

Hajime- Kyoko

Both forgot their talents, both kind of on the abrasive side. Kyoko will be frequently sneaking out to investigate stuff on her own, which stresses Hajime out because he gets in trouble if he loses her. Built-in conflict.

Nagito- Makoto

Lucky students, and I love imagining the drama of Makoto necessarily being present for everything Nagito gets up to and trying to stop him and maybe succeeding in talking him down from some stuff. And just the idea of Nagito talking while they're in the cabin together each night, saying his usual weird stuff about talent and hope to Makoto while Makoto is all the way in his terrarium and so he can't reply loudly enough for Nagito to hear. So maybe instead he breaks something, just to make enough noise to interrupt. Honestly, there would just be so much going on with them.

Chiaki- Celeste

The gamers, lol. Chiaki would do her best to indulge Celeste's vibe, and I think that could be very fun, because she really does not know how. They reach a point of common ground when Chiaki starts making bets with Celeste about the outcome of her video games, and getting the other senpais and kouhais in on it.

Teruteru- Yasuhiro

This matchup was by default, but Hiro not liking smoke does add some tension.

Imposter- Junko

Imposter and fashionista are super compatible talents, and imposter and analyst are super compatible talents. Both of them read people and put on personas. They would see right through each other.

Mahiru- Hifumi

Both have visual art talents, and Mahiru would whip him into shape.

Peko- Mukuro

The loyal warriors. Very similar vibe. They would be very polite and impersonal to each other. Protecting Mukuro is secondary to protecting Fuyuhiko, of course, but having to care someone so similar to herself, but tiny and powerless, might be a very moving experience for Peko.

Hiyoko- Sakura

Both masters of a particular physical art form. Sakura's steady presence, both respectful and demanding of respect, would be a good influence on Hiyoko. Oh, she would still be super rude, but her interactions would shape up differently and she'd eat a more balanced diet, lol.

Ibuki- Sayaka

Musicians. Sayaka, being more on the calculated side, would be interesting to have as the person whispering in Ibuki's ear. She might try to convince Ibuki to do something she wouldn't normally do. It most likely wouldn't work; Ibuki is very independent. But Sayaka is pretty resourceful, and as a side note, one might think about the despair disease...

Mikan- Kiyotaka

This one was also kind of by default, once the more obvious ones were sorted away. Personality-wise, his bold presence contrasts with her more meek disposition, and she would be really proud of that. Taka argues with bullies! He cares about making sure everyone behaves. She loves him. She loves that someone so principled depends on her. Also, important note: When murders happen on the island, usually the kouhais are left alive. (Though murdering specifically the kouhai so that the senpai gets killed as punishment for losing them is also potentially a thing. Most people would consider it too low a blow to murder someone who's four inches tall, but still. Worth considering. The kouhais' role in this adds a new dimension to the kinds of murders that can happen.) When a murderer is executed, their kouhai is also left alive. Mikan always volunteers to take in the unattended kouhai, because she just really likes this dynamic. (If the Undead AU is Nagito's best timeline, this genuinely might be Mikan's, lol.)

Nekomaru- Leon

Because sports. I could have had Akane and Nekomaru trade, but this was the alignment I chose. (Anyway, if one of them dies, the other will take care of their kouhai, so there's a good chance Akane will have Leon later on.) Nekomaru is a good enough coach to make Leon actually enjoy practicing baseball. Just, you know, tiny baseball. Or, he's a good enough coach to identify what Leon likes and dislikes about baseball and direct him to excel in a way that emphasizes the aspects he likes.

Gundham- Toko

Another "by default" one, where breeding animals and writing romance novels are kind of close if you squint. The idea of Toko being in the care of someone like Gundham is actually super heartwarming; he would make sure she has everything she needs, he would tolerate any lashing out on her part in the same way he does the bites of his Four Dark Devas of Destruction. Toko would be very unused to being so cared for and accommodated that way. If Gundham dies, Sonia will take Toko. Which...would be interesting in a lot of ways, starting with Sonia's enthusiastic interest in serial killers and Toko's romantic obsession with Sonia's assigned kouhai.

Fuyuhiko- Mondo

Both gangsters with a need to present as strong. Fuyuhiko takes it farther than Mondo does (to the point where Mondo is often protesting the things Fuyuhiko says), and they butt heads a lot, but they also have each other's backs.

Kazuichi- Chihiro

Both STEM. I feel like Chihiro would be constantly blushing about everything Kazuichi says and does, and they would also be fascinated by his work. I think it would change his whole deal for the better, if he had the constant company of someone like Chihiro. I think he would be less comfortable openly bugging Sonia if there was an underclassman sitting in the fold of his beanie.

Akane- Aoi

Athletes. Their personalities would go really well together, and Akane would be so serious about making sure Hina is okay, getting enough exercise, eating enough food, etc. It's like she has a new little sibling. Like I've mentioned, she would get a fishbowl from the market so Hina can swim when they're in the cabin. (When Hina has trouble scaling the side of the fishbowl to get in, she would teach her a few parkour tricks.) She would take her to Mikan every time she hurts herself exercising.

Sonia- Byakuya

Heirs. And it's really funny to imagine Byakuya being his cold-blooded self while he's sitting on the shoulder of someone really nice. I also like imagining Sonia trying to make a luxurious enough living space for him. Using her own jewelry to decorate, a silk scarf for bedsheets, etc. She's very proud of her handiwork.

3.115 House Tour

Hello! It's me, Jess, and we're back! Luca and Sophia have furnished and decorated the house and got it looking lived in. Let's take a look around, shall we? As always, these pics were shot a while ago, and some things have changed already.

Despite its deceivingly large exterior, the rooms in this house are tiny, making it hard to take decent pictures. I hope I don't have regrets trying to get shots for the story in here lol. Let's start in the front at the door. The foyer is small, but it's a proper enclosed foyer. Access to the main bathroom is in there.

Next, let's go through to the living room. As you'll see, grandma has already been shopping lol.

Next is the dining room, the biggest room in the house. Behind it is the office. Pardon the awkward configuration in there. The Elegato media center mod is still broken, so he can't make videos at his computer anymore, and there's no room for the media station, so this will have to do for now.

The kitchen! If I ever come into some money, or get really serious about my savings, this is the color scheme I want in my real kitchen, except I want butcher block countertops. Also? Can we just stop and applaud how far I've come with the clutter??

The stair landing was the perfect and only place the dogs could go, so I had to dress it up a little for them lol. I'm wondering if there's a routing error though because they both sleep on the couch instead when they usually sleep in their beds.

As you can see, throughout the house we have empty picture frames. I'm saving space for pics of the babies! Also I thought having a portrait of a spot in Oasis Springs would be something they'd enjoy to remind them of their start.

You can tell Luca and Sophia are enjoying and taking advantage of having more space in the bedroom lol. He's enjoying not living out of a suitcase anymore, and she loves having easy access to all her essentials. I didn't realize that bassinet was deco, so it's gone now.

Y'all know Emmy is coming lol. Like...we all know this, right? I'm not sure if she'll move in, or if Luca will ask her, but y'all know she's gonna all but live over there lol. There are four tiny bedrooms, and of course one is the nursery. They're not sure how many kids they're going to have, but with birthdays around the corner, and fertility drama, they're thinking not as many as they thought. They decided to make the smaller of the two rooms Emmy's the guest room. The other will remain empty for now until they know how their family is going to change.

Finally, the nursery and upstairs bathroom.

It was a good run and we have been fed very well. if something else comes up then i’ll post an extras version of this clowning series. ^^

this scene at the finale, where they won a production award and jian bing was making her speech. how she said that last year, she gained a good production partner ( referring to shengyang ) and like you could tell that it wasn’t just work related that’s she is talking about. it reminds us of that time in TTXS where WYB said that in the past year, he gained a good friend — XZ. and like we (cpfs) believe that it’s more than that, they both gained a life partner.

this is another example of what seems to be a trend in this drama. lol. maybe because it’s modern so they can use these scenes & lines. i don’t know. the coincidences and similarities of things that happened to them irl making it in the drama is something we can’t ignore.

there is also a photo where you could see the number 9. It’s actually 19, which is in reference to the event his character in the show is attending. they blurred out almost all of the background to emphasize on him so why leave the 9? Maybe they can cause the big event in the finale is this award and him going onstage with Jian Bing. I’m a clown so the 9 is a great coincidence because who just celebrated their 9th debut anniversary???

• GG’s finale post on his weibo account too. Let’s clown on the time of posting, 19:50 9/5. Also how he mentions the sun which is supposedly to describe Shengyang and the name of the show itself. But the photo he shared is that of a sunflower. He really loves it. It’s why 🌻 is such a favorite symbol among BXGs!

sleepovers!! either at your place or his, the atmospheres are very very different! at yours, you’ll probably do skincare, watch a movie, make hot cocoa, and actually get some sleep. at his place, denji has to fight power away for your attention (since she adores you), and while they’re brawling you have a nice conversation with aki— usually about work or movies. once things calm down, the four of you will play video games and probably all fall asleep in a giant pig pile

no one's ever asked me about this stuff before, so buckle up because this might turn into a lengthy fucking ramble

to start, if we were to talk about progress, I'd have to talk about it more in retrospective than just my latest animatic. it's been three years since I started animating, and this particular animatic was more of a silly and short side project, I didn't put much thought into it really.

before diving into animation, I had a foundation in graphic design, four years at a tech school. this gave me a strong grasp of the basics and by that I mean visuals, colours, composition, and more. but yeah, when you transition to animation your view on art definitely shifts, at least mine did. because animation, at its core, is storytelling through visuals. so you're basically delving into film, and now you're not just thinking about static elements, you're considering movement, pacing, cinematography, even sound design. and as an animator, you're the director, the cinematographer, the storyboard artist, and the editor. each role requires specific skills. you need an understanding of visual storytelling, character design, motion graphics, timing, and so on and so on! and you're learning them along the way as you work on your projects. I'm learning all that still, and if you take a look at how my animatics looked in 2020 and now it's so much progress. HELL, both in my animation AND my drawings.

if you really think about this riptide animatic in retrospection you're basically seeing 10 years of my hard work on perfecting those skills combined into one silly video lol BUT without it, for me it's just silly thing that I did and I'm just glad people seem to like it, I'm not dwelling on progress here

now, when it comes to how I feel after finishing a project? in general? it's a mix. there's a sense of achievement, sure. like here I have to mention my short film again. I spent a whole year on it, mostly working on my own but with some guidance from my thesis supervisor. the film is 7 minutes long, and I worked on animating it from march to august. and when I compare the start to the finish, I can SO clearly see the improvement, both in terms of skill and artistic vision. BUT I also tend to look back and think about what I could've done better or differently. and while I see areas for improvement, this self-critique pushes me to get better with each project. eeeh it's a bit of a love-hate relationship with my work really. that's how it always been for me lol

It's a beautiful morning, and a Revolutionary Army gacha recently arrived. That's right, the Year of the Dragon is the gift that keeps giving. This is your sign to go to every anime store with kujis (gachas) to find it, friends. It's been out for a few days now, but I took pretty bad pictures of it the first time and had to wait to retake. Review below! Also found a very cool promotional video for it here.

First of all, [A] prize Dragon figurine, absolutely beautiful, I hate trying to navigate the official website for OP figurines, so this is the first Dragon figurine I've ever seen. He's also the last prize, which is great. The difference between it and the [A] prize seems to be that it has metallic coloring.

Sabo and Koala for [B] and [C] prize respectively! Fantastic! Now, [D] prize... Somehow, Zoro got lost on Thriller Bark and made his way into the RA kuji. Honestly would have liked to see a Kuma figurine, but guess they needed an outlier or something. Kind of like how Benn sneaked into an Onigashima kuji.

Next, [E] prizes are towels, and [F] prizes are files! Both can be chosen from and have pretty much every named Revolutionary so far! I'm a little confused over how Smoker sneaked onto Dragon's file. Like, almost everyone else has a simple pose or a fighting one, but they really just took Dragon's first (terrifying) appearance and slapped it on. I would have liked a full view of him, but I'll take any Dragon merch I can find! Sabo’s flaming some guy too, so like mentor like mentee (lol)

Addition as of 15/3! Ivankov and Kuma technically have two files, on account of them kinda sharing the second one. Neat detail!

The [G] prizes are cups with a character's name and symbols printed on one side. These are blind boxes, with a wide selection. I didn't end up getting Dragon or Sabo... But hey, they're usable, so it's fine. They're about average size, not too big but a little small.

Finally, the [H] prize are rubber charms! Adorable designs, and also blind boxes! Love how Dragon is doing his crazy grin in his design.

All in all, a pretty good kuji! [A] to [H] prizes, 80 tickets, and only two rankings being blind boxes with four types of figurines. The variety is pretty wide, which will end up tanking its popularity a bit... I love the Revs, but I'm well aware that outside of Sabo, Dragon and Koala, they're not particularly popular by the individual. Though Kuma is gaining love with the latest Egghead arc!

It's a 9/10 for me! Without bias, it makes for a 6/10 kuji. The average One Piece enjoyer probably wouldn't play this unless they're confident in their luck (to get Sabo, lol). I'll return to play it soon!

as for malia, she wants to connect to colby and get to know him better but his issues are making that a bit hard for her. but not only that, he's busy. that man loves working, so she sometimes feels as if she doesn't get to see him without it being a work vacation, so to speak. but she definitely sees herself being with him long time. she sees he is dedicated to her, but the speed at which they are going is going to bore her a bit. eventually she will realize that it's for the best, since she will soon see that things will work out well.

what i gather is that both of them seem to be in for the long hall, they just have to make sure to communicate. and take time to themselves.

also let's not forget that they have only been together for like four months really, bc they met in late nov/early dec and probably didn't start actually dating/getting serious until january/february so like… let's cut them some slack yall lol

THE PRODUCTION

First, I don't claim to have any expertise when it comes to film-making, I just know what makes sense to me. Please remember take all of the following as a personal interpretation and not fact. I'd avoided reading anyone else's reactions during the initial release as I wanted some time to formulate my thoughts...but here we are. If any of you made posts discussing this release, I'd love if you shared a link so I can go check them out now!

I don't remember if there was any speculation prior to the release if this was going to be a fan song for ARMY. There was some precedent for that with other recent solo songs by the members so I remember going into my initial watchthrough wondering if that would be the case. In any case, it's exceedingly clear when watching the mv, that this song is not ABOUT us. And there's a very clear indicator that this is the case. Two words: EYE CONTACT.

There are exactly four times in the mv that V makes direct eye contact with the camera: when he's alone at the convenience store, both zoomouts in the restaurant, and at the end after he greets his doppleganger.

The convenience store moment is very brief and is immediately followed by a shot of what he's seeing and how he reacts to it. This is giving us a window into how this world is effecting him.

The first zoomout in the restaurant, when he's alone is the moment I knew this song wasn't about us. It's such a deliberate breaking of the fourth wall and it lingers foreeeever. The shot is so long. It's beautiful, don't get me wrong but it firmly puts us in our place as the recipient of this message V is delivering to us.

The next zoomout actually stands out to me not because of V's eye contact with us but because of the girl's lack of it. All of the couples in this world have been obvious about being the same with each other. Whether they're loving or fighting, they're both equally in it. Her NOT making eye contact with us while V does, also highlights the idea of this being a conversation that V is having with us. This whole mv is about V telling us how he's effected by the world around him. She can't connect with us because she's part of the world and not part of him.

The end is such a cheeky little moment. V acknowledging that the past few minutes were bananas and that we will do what we do best with their content: extrapolate and theorize. He's giving us his blessing to take it and roll. So let's do it!

THE PLOT

When V makes his bid to end the friendship, there are two possible results: termination or escalation. So let's go through both.

Termination:

V is alone in a world that is seemingly only populated by couples. Everyone else has someone and they are hyper-focused on each other. In this part of the story, the couples are clearly focused on a romantic/sexual connection.

Escalation:

V is no longer alone. He has a lady with him going through the same activities he did previously. But now, all of those couples are fighting with eachother rather than loving, to the point of destruction.

So which side do I subscribe to? Honestly, neither... lol trust the aspec to choose 'none' when presented with a multiple-choice question.

THE END?

That's it. Honestly that's all of my thoughts about the plot. Excellent storytelling and they do a wonderful job of bringing us into this bizarre world in an entertaining way. I do think it's interesting yo contemplate if this is actually describing a weird other world or if this is all in V's head, showcasing how he perceives the world differently based on his relationship status.

...but that's not all I want to chat about regarding this mv. I think this honestly has more to do with my personal mix on the ace-aro spectrums and the self-sacrificing culture I was raised in. Buuuut I've always had this little thought in the back of my mind that getting into a relationship is actually a really selfish thing to do. I realize this is a highly targeted viewpoint but hear me out for a second on why this mv has got me thinking about this. I'm curious if anyone else on the ace-aro spectrums have had similar thoughts so I'll be posting this over on @aspec-kpop as well. Please tell me if this makes sense to any of you!

So, in this world, V is miserable if everyone else is in relationships and he's alone. Or, if he's seemingly happy with his lady, everyone else around them is in absolute chaos. Either way, both stories end up with him bleeding in the street but in the latter, everyone else is miserable, including his girl who now has to suffer the pain of losing a loved one.

As a teen, who didn't have the luxury of knowing about aspec identities, I remember being absolutely haunted by the admonition that 'it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all'. As I got older and it was becoming increasingly clear to me that I would not have the traditional life experiences that were expected of me, this weighed very heavy on my soul. I would then see my friends go through the heartache of breakups, and older relatives suffer at the passing of their loved ones. Maybe the saying was wrong after all; since loving someone would always lead to pain anyway?

Yes, I do realize that this is a fictional world created to be a backdrop for a fun pop song and I'm likely exposing a little too much of my own psyche for strangers on the internet. But I do find it interesting also that in this fictional world, there is no good choice for V to take. Either he's miserable and everyone else is happy or the inverse is true. He is in a position where it's just not possible for him to choose both his own happiness and the happiness for those around him. Sound familiar?

BONUS THOUGHTS:

Just a couple of thoughts from watching the making film:

Tae is so technically competent! It's so satisfying to watch. Did y'all see that moment where he hits his mark walking backwards before the car? Trust a dancer to be so spatially aware.

He's also so good about giving them options with his reactions and expressions. We only get to see the more entertaining ones here but to be so on the ball with a production team that doesn't speak your native language, it's very impressive. Not that I expected any less but it's sure nice to see.

WAIT WAIT WAIT

While rewatching this to see if there were any other interesting tidbits, I noticed the sign that said ACE behind V when he was outside of the restaurant. I'm not usually one to research these kinds of things but I am somewhat partial to the term ACE soi was curious. I found it! It's the ACE CAFE of LONDON.

I'm going to be cringe. So here's a family tree of my OC's with some of my favorite pokemon characters

LORE TIME!

First up, Andromeda!

Andromeda is the submas twins older half sister from they're father's side

Ingo and Emmets father and Andromeda's mother where a couple in highschool, and when her mother suddenly got pregnant with her. they were still in highschool, so they decided keep it a secret from there parents and put her up for adoption when she was born, but they went they're separate ways once they graduated from high school

Andromeda had a hard life but not a difficult one, she had problems with bullying but she always managed to scare them off

She is a MASSIVE NERD she is always burying herself in books not caring for people

She found an abandoned Pokemon egg when she was 7 and took care of it until it hatched into a shiny Ralts! Which evolve into a gardevoir in later years

She was adopted by a lovely woman at the age of 8 years old, the woman so happened to happened to be a Pokemon professor, Andromeda was fascinated by all this new information and knowledge about mythical Pokemon and their power and so eager to learn

She became a Pokemon professor but she also writes books about dark fantasy and mythical adventures in her free time

Then she met her ex-husband Cerberus, a young, extremely handsome, and charming guy,

They dated for around 3 years and where married for 10 years

Cerberus seems like a nice and charming person on the outside but in reality he is a horrible person

Cerberus soon showed his true colors after they got married, he was a narcissistic piece of shit I believe he can do no wrong in his life

But Andromeda was so helplessly in love and so desperate to provide a father for her children that she was blind to the signs

But one day she finally had enough and left Cerberus for good, when she found out that he was beating her children behind her back

Her children are too scared of say anything in fear that Cerberus might harm their mother

But when her daughter Selene went missing without a Trace, after the four of them left him 8 years ago, she went haywire, immediately diving into her research to bring her daughter back no matter what

Soon she found out about her half sibling Emmett, who was looking for his brother Ingo

Both of them soon met up and realized that her daughter and his brother's disappearance were connected

And with each other's help along with her sons she managed to bring both her daughter Selene and Emmett's brother Ingo home

Next up to Polaris!

Polaris is Selene's older brother he was 20 years old before Selene went missing

Polaris is a very casual and calm dude, he rarely ever gets angry but when he does, he becomes an unstoppable force

He is married to Natori and got married to her when they were both 18, Natori is Alder's granddaughter

Polaris took most of Cerberus's abuse, back when his family still live with him

And back in his younger years Polaris was a MASSIVE dick, he didn't know how to regulate his emotions so he took out on everyone

But luckily he soon found error his ways and became a nice huggable, lovable, and beautiful person that is always ready to lend a hand when needed/when he wants to lol

When his sister Selene went missing, he went through a brief period of isolation.

He become really depressed and blamed himself for her disappearance

But luckily he decided to do something about it and helped his mother Andromeda and uncle Emmet they brought her and Ingo home

Next Zeke

Zeke is Selene's young brother he was 17 years old when Selene went missing

Zeke is a very quiet person prefers to keep to himself

Zeke is a Pokemon professor taking interest in his mother Andromeda's work

He took the lease to of Cerberus's abuse, mostly because he just kept quiet and did what he was told, didn't tell anyone this but that's the main reason why he keeps himself and why he is so quiet

He absolutely LOVES video games and spends lots of his free time on his computer playing all sorts of different games

But when his sister Selene went missing... He panicked, it was the biggest and worst time of his life

Constantly checking constantly looking for a sister having little to no leads

After the second year he began to slowly give up

But with the help of his family he managed to push through and bring his sister back home

Next Selene

Selene is a very loud person who isn't afraid to share her opinion

She was a very troubled kid, getting into fights, stealing, ECT due to her father's abuse

But through lots of therapy she managed to pull through and become a better person for herself

Selene was 18 when she was transported into hisui and takes place as the MC in the pla storyline

Selene was VERY PISSED when this happened

But when she met volo the first time, two of them immediately clicked

The two of them would walk and talk and just laugh all the time whenever they were together throughout Selene's adventures

Soon they became a couple but then the Red sky happened

Volo tried his best to be there for Selene bringing her gifts, talking to her about myths, he tried everything to make her smile

But then volo tried to we create the world, he bagged and pleaded for Selene to join him

But when she refused Volo could only see red

The final battle was more vicious than anything either of them have I ever seen but in the end. Selene came out victorious

And without thinking volo just yelled at her

He just berating her telling her how much he hated her, and how much she wanted her dead, every single awful thing you can ever think of he said it to her

Both of them cried as Volo yelled at her and ran off never to be seen again

But little did volo know, Selene given birth to his child a few weeks back

Selene kept it a secret because she knew something was wrong with Volo, and that he was plotting something

Selene gave birth to her son Gesshoku right before the end of her exile and the battle with Palkia and Dialga

Only the people of Pearl Clan knew about her pregnancy and her son, after being sworn secrecy by irida, and was placed under Calaba's care and after she got better in recovered was placed under Ingo's care

Selene lost a lot of blood when she gave birth to Gesshoku and actually nearly died but was luckily saved by Calaba

After the battle of Volo, she just started sobbing uncontrollably, and when Ingo and the other wardens asked what's wrong she just explained everything through pained tears

By then Volo had already fled Hisui, but when Selene finish explaining EVERYONE was out for his blood

Selene stayed in Hisui with Ingo

Last but not least Gesshoku!

Gesshoku is a very happy and optimistic child

He gets his blonde hair from his father Volo, and his white streaks from Selene, the reason why he has blue in his hair is because he asked his mother to die at Blue to match her.

The reason why his eyes are blue is because he gets it from Selene's brother Polaris

People commonly mistake him as a girl because of his long hair, he just calmly corrects them that he is a boy not that he cares he just thinks it's funny

Gesshoku did ask once why he didn't have a father, and Selene was honest and tried to explain the best she could

She basically told him that he didn't love her and he didn't know about him and that's why he doesn't have a dad

Gesshoku seem to accept it just fine, as he was just curious, but he had to admit he was a bit mad at his father...who could do such a thing?

Gesshoku was 3 years old when he left Hisui and to the present day with his mother Selene and Ingo, who he lovingly refer to as Grandpa or Pop-Pop

It was a hard adjustment for him he was so used to the calmness and quietness of hisui

He would only sleep whenever his mother was around because he was so unsure and scared of everything around him

Although it was a hard adjustment for him and even though he missed everything and everyone it back in Hisui he ended up loving everything about the present

How did everyone react to Gesshoku?

Andromeda was very surprised/shocked when she first saw Gesshoku, but even more heartbroken but most importantly absolutely furious when she found out the story of what happened between Selene and Volo. But besides that she absolutely adores her grandson, spoiling him rotten every time she sees him. It wasn't easy getting his trust however as it took time. But when she did Gesshoku would always want to go to her house, and hang out with his grandmother anytime he could

Polaris was also very surprised when he first saw Gesshoku, he made a joke about beating teen pregnancy and then immediately got sucker punched in the jaw by Ingo, no one did anything about it because he absolutely deserved it Polaris would also agree with that statement, but with all jokes aside he absolutely loves his nephew, teaching him how to pokémon battle teaching him about different types of video games and even introducing him to his wife Natori! His favorite thing to do with Gesshoku is to tell funny stories about his and his siblings childhood to Gesshoku. And even letting him in on family lore when he is older.

Zeke had more of a quiet type of shock reaction, he had to leave the room because he was getting over stimulated that the fact that his sister had a child while she was missing, he felt that he ripped her away from her new family even if it hurted him deeply inside, but after some reassurance from Selene and feeling him in on the story of what happened between her and Volo, all he did was hug her tightly, in whispered that he was sorry that happened to her. Even though he has mixed feelings about Gesshoku, he still loves him and cares for him very deeply even if he has a quiet way of showing it. His favorite things to do with his nephew Gesshoku is to tell in about all sorts of pokémon how they work down to the very last detail, Gesshoku it's always happy to learn something new from his uncle

Cerberus, what's the last to find out about Gesshoku he was doing time for crimes that he committed when he was working for team plasma, when he finally got out Gesshoku was 6 years old, to say he was shocked with being understatement. He desperately wants to try to have a relationship with his children again, but Polaris, Selene, and Zeke want nothing to do with him especially after all he's done, Cerberus really wants to and desperately wants to have a relationship with his grandson, Selene told him once Gesshoku was 18 only then can he see his grandson, Cerberus knows that he has a lot of work to do if he ever wants to have a relationship with his children again, but he's willing to put in the work, even if it takes him his whole life.

Emmet, he was the most shocked to relieved and had the most mixed emotions about everything, first find out that he had a half sister, second finding out that he is technically an uncle, thirdly but finally being able to hug his brother after the many years of searching for him, so did say that it was a lot for him would be an understatement. When he saw Gesshoku he didn't know what to feel, but overall he still cares deeply about him, and upon building a closer relationship with his half sister Andromeda he finally and truly feels like he's part of the family now.

I DM'd you a passage from the tarot cards fic. Director's commentary, please? ^_^

Ahh this was so fun, thank you so much!! Overexplaining details in a scene my beloved >:3

I wrote all my headcanons and assumptions as if they're facts to save myself from adding "I like to think" to the beginning of every sentence, but just know that I'm aware they don't have canon backing lol. Also my commentary mentions Fuuta and Mikoto's relationship, but the whole fic is pretty vague with it. I love keeping things at the stage of comfortable kindness, where it's easy for the reader to take things both platonically and romantically depending on what headcanons they're bringing to it. It's not necessarily catering to readers since I enjoy both interpretations -- I wrote it with both in mind, and I'll reread it differently depending on the day.

“I'm doing this to show you how these readings are just crap. Now. First card.” [Fuuta] flipped it without any of the theatrics Mikoto had enjoyed. “Hm.” He squinted at the strange picture and read the title. “We’ve got a Four of Cups.” 

Fuuta kind of did want to cheer Mikoto up, but doesn’t like how sentimental it sounds to think of it like that. Even if he did admit to himself that’s what he was doing, he wouldn’t know how to comfort him in a nice way, so he’s just picking a distracting activity and hoping it works. Also this spread was actually drawn by me irl! I had to modify one card in Fuuta’s (not telling which one though, hehe). I did consider having Mikoto draw the Hanged Man as his last card, but that felt too forced and cheesy lol

“Reversed Four of Cups,” Mikoto said before turning his gaze to the ceiling. 

“Reversed? It’s right side up to you.”

“You’re doing a reading for me?”

“Duh?” 

It might seem obvious that Fuuta was doing a reading for him given the setup/dialogue, but from Mikoto’s pov, no one’s ever done that before. In all the years he’s been doing tarot, people really just focus on their own future and how to learn tarot for their own activities. No one’s thought to do a reading for him. He’s more surprised than touched right now, though, because of how tired he is. It’ll really hit him later that night, when he realizes that this was the first time someone did that for him. 

Mikoto bit back a comment that he should have gotten to touch the cards, if that were the case. He didn’t feel like getting into it with Fuuta right now, no matter how playful a matter it may be.

Mikoto (and Yuno) are the type who don’t take Fuuta's attitude personally. They can enjoy the back-and-forth of bickering for hours without it exhausting them. Even though Mikoto didn’t experience much during the interrogation, he’d be emotionally tired out in general. Plus, I picture the process of extracting videos to be physically taxing. Something that invades and activates your neurons would definitely leave you pretty wiped afterwards. (<- girl who has too many thoughts about how the mv machine works but will spare you the explanation)

“So… it looks like in the past… you had a lot of cups… and got a weird one from the sky. Are you religious?”

“Huh? Not really.”

“Not God then. I don’t fucking know where it came from. Maybe it’s a ‘life gives you lemons’ thing. You got too much on your plate?”

Mikoto stayed silent.

I messed myself up in this upcoming section because I was too excited about figuring out the card meanings in relation to Mikoto. I should have just looked at them as they were and guessed the meanings the way that Fuuta might. It was difficult having just read this card’s specific meaning and then trying to put myself in the shoes as someone who didn’t know it😂 I left and came back to this section a lot, I wrote the fic over a few months in between other things. It helped dull my memory on the actual meaning and get into Fuuta's character more.

Also I’m adding “life gives you lemons” to the list of phrases I use in my fics knowing it’s an English phrase/idiom they definitely wouldn't use, but I liked its exact connotation so I kept it in. It's cliche and informal and someone like Fuuta would be sick of hearing it from adults. He'd know Mikoto feels the same. I debated on giving Fuuta more lines about religion here – I do think he’s starting to consider it more at this point in time – but decided it brought the fic too off-course from where I wanted it.

“Whatever. Next card… the present. This one’s upside down to you. A knight – hey, I got a knight, too, remember?”

Fuuta actually does know that the specific term is “reversed,” Mikoto just said it, but doesn’t want to seem like he cares so he doesn't use the term. Still, he doesn’t really know how being reversed changes the meaning, so he interprets the picture normally. 

Mikoto blinked. He did remember – he was shocked that Fuuta did. That reading had ended on such a sour note all those months ago. He didn’t think the other had given it another moment of thought. There came the tiniest surge of pride that Fuuta had committed it to memory.

I wanted to play around more with memory here but could never get it to work!!! Fuuta doesn’t really have any themes around memory so it wasn’t that notable that he remembered. Mikoto’s memory has holes specifically around stressful events, so it’s not impressive he remembered, either. So… despite having the perfect opportunity to talk about cool insights/emotions, it simply wasn’t a big deal -_- It still works to reveal that they both care a lot about each other, which is why I left it as is. It was a brief moment months ago, but both held onto the memory all this time.

“Damn, another cup. Well, if it does mean life keeps throwing stupid shit at you, then yeah, this prison has been the stupidest shit of them all.”

Fuuta picked up the final card. He let out a laugh. It was something mocking, but it tickled Mikoto. “Heh, you sure are a fool. That’s some outfit. Still better than yours right now.” He flicked the card at Mikoto’s chest, where it bounced off his mangled uniform. 

As someone who is completely endeared by Fuuta’s awful laugh, I think Mikoto wouldn’t mind either if it sounded teasing/cruel. Especially after all the pain Fuuta’s been through T2, Mikoto probably didn’t hear him laugh in a very long time, and the sound can be contagious. I always wonder about Mikoto's uniform... was like that from his fight with Kotoko, or just from John wrecking his room? Is it like that all of T2, or does Es gives him a replacement? I felt like he would be cleaned up by the time his interrogation rolled around, but his album art is just as much of a mess, so I guess ratty uniform it is...

Mikoto retrieved the card. He sat up as he returned it to the spread. He studied them. 

Mikoto was enjoying Fuuta’s version of the cards, but didn’t have the energy to read them along with him. This is the first time he taps into his own knowledge of the tarot meanings and realizes what a good spread it actually is. I wanted to linger here in this moment more, but everything I wrote became too “telling.” As the fic was from Mikoto’s pov, I felt like I’d need to take the reader through what he was thinking about in the silence. That ended up defeating the purpose of the peaceful moment lol

He allowed himself a small smile. “So,” he asked, “what’s it all mean?”

Fuuta scowled. “I just told you what it meant.”

“No, now you look at the big picture.” Mikoto shook his head. “You left before I could finish your reading, but you’re supposed to look at everything together and make a plan for the future. I… I still remember yours. I was going to tell you to mind your emotions, and prepare for a big change coming quickly. But uh…” he rubbed the back of his neck. “Guess it’s a little late for that, huh?”

“A little.”

Once again wishing I could do more with memory given that Mikoto still remembers Fuuta’s exact reading after so many months, and once again leaving it as a testament to his relationship with Fuuta. I can only hope it speaks for itself when looking at the fic normally ;--; I still haven’t decided if that last line from Fuuta should be read as an angry snap or a disappointed whisper. He’s still very bitter about his situation, and the fact that Mikoto is telling him to ‘mind his emotions’ and reminding him of his pain are enough to make him lash out. At the same time, maybe bringing it all up makes him recognize that his hot temper did caused him harm, several times. He can hear how genuinely Mikoto speaks, and feels guilty for treating him so harshly then. I go back and forth depending on my own mood…

“So, to finish off my reading, what advice do you give me based on these?” 

Fuuta made a show of rolling his eyes and huffing, as if this hadn’t been his idea to begin with.

My favorite way to write Fuuta is having him do something nice, and then immediately get mad at the other person because suddenly he’s embarrassed about it.

 “This is so lame. My advice…?” He jabbed a finger at The Fool. “Don’t do anything fucking stupid in the future.”

I originally wrote out a bit of a longer speech of advice, with Fuuta mentioning how he knows school/work can be overwhelming, and this prison is overwhelming, and not to do anything in the future because there are people relying on him. Fuuta was relying on him. It was a bit vulnerable and finally explicitly mentioned his feelings towards Mikoto. I read it back, heaved a sigh, said “he wouldn’t fucking say that,” and cut it down to just this line 👍I'm not too disappointed, though, since Mikoto can see right through Fuuta (both with his people skills and the fact that Fuuta is very obvious about his emotions). Anything he would have confessed, Mikoto already knows.  

Mikoto looked from him to the cards, then back again.

“...That’s it?”

“What more do you want?” Fuuta raised his voice, and Mikoto found it in him to laugh. 

Mikoto also hasn’t laughed (genuinely) all of T2 :( This one starts off kind of forced – he had to “find it in him” to play along with the way a conversation is supposed to go. But it feels natural once he does, and the next time I mention his attitude he feels “back to his old self.” In this moment he’s considering antagonizing Fuuta by teasing his advice, asking for more, or just poking at his temper. He chooses not to. Instead of avoiding their bickering because he’s tired, he cuts Fuuta a break because he’s really grateful for the kind gesture.

“Alright, alright, I’ll take it.”
