🍉🍪🍕 for Ismene?
Thanks for the asks, Ash! This took longer than expected because after drafting the answers I went to fact check some lore and um. Spent over an hour reading about libraries. Whoops!!
[prompt list]
🍉: Does your OC have a particular piece of jewellery that they always wear or refuse to part with?
Ismene has a black velvet choker she wears almost constantly (an item which is fortunately easy to keep secure on the road and in fights). The choker was a gift from Imoen from not long after Imoen was first brought to Candlekeep, and one with some backstory to it. Around that time Candlekeep had hosted a noblewoman for several weeks who was a dedicated lover of scholarly pursuits bursting with admiration for the monks of Candlekeep. It had been her dream to visit the great library and learn from it, and she treated the hallowed library and its keepers with nothing but the utmost reverence. For the other residents of Candlekeep, however, she seemed to have nothing but contempt- even for the little elf girl who helped to mind the reading rooms and who carefully shelved the books for the librarians between visits. Ismene became a frequent target of the woman's ire. The woman complained frequently of her presence, berated her for her presumed background, treated her as a servant, and harshly criticized the work she did. After a day where Ismene attempted several times to correct the woman for violating the rules of a reading room, the woman went to one of the Great Readers and went on at length about the girl's insolent behavior, accusing her of singling the woman out for harassment and attempting to steal from the woman's bag.
Imoen saw Ismene crying after being scolded over the accusations, and the morning after the woman suddenly found herself with real problems on her hands. Somehow a bottle of ink had cracked in her bag, leaking all over her fine clothes and ruining pages of her careful notes. For the rest of her visit she seemed tormented by an endless string of accidents. Things broke or went missing, her food burned, the floors outside her room were always just slick enough with half done mopping for her to slip... Although she went to Winthrop more than once over these incidents, her complaints fell on deaf ears after weeks of tormenting the inn's staff with false claims. On the last day of her stay, the woman reported frantically that a favorite choker, one which she had worn frequently during her time at Candlekeep, had gone missing. Although she turned half of Candlekeep upside down searching for it, she never managed to find it, and she left the library fortress disconsolate over its loss. That night Imoen presented it to Ismene as a gift. The girls have been fast friends ever since (though they did both get in trouble over the clearly stolen item).
🍪: What is something that's sentimental to your OC?
Any of the many things that remind her of Candlekeep- she misses her home dearly, and has not been happy to leave. The smell of books, the gentle warmth of the afternoon sun in a comfortable seat by a window, the droning sound of chant... Any of it can take her back for just the briefest moment. Maybe the most potent, but thankfully the least bittersweet, moments of sentiment come from time spent with Imoen talking and braiding hair as if they were girls again. Ismene isn't one to voice gratitude, but she's incredibly thankful for Imoen's companionship.
🍕: How does an OC spend a lazy day?
Ismene spends huge portions of unoccupied days sleeping. She can easily sleep for more than twelve hours when not interrupted, and she doesn't mind the time lost. She loathes having to wake before dawn to maximize daylight while traveling; even though elves have no real need for sleep she always sleeps on rest days in towns like she's catching up from weeks of deprivation. Of course, in her eyes her sleep is far more valuable than the sleep normal people experience because of the visions she receives in her dreams.
Aside from sleeping, she enjoys reading and will spend her waking hours squirreled away in a library given the chance- in the small towns of the Sword Coast these are often collections belonging to temples or wealthy private individuals, and identifying who locally has a worthwhile collection to attempt to access is one of her priorities when arriving somewhere new. Often there's little truly new and worthwhile in these collections relative to Candlekeep, but occasionally she's pleasantly surprised. Although on other occasions she is prematurely escorted out of the library after revealing to unhappy owners expensive forgeries or offering unsolicited critique of the gaps in their collections...
I wish I could say she had other things she spent time on as a hobby, but unfortunately Ismene is the number one nerd who never goes outside unless dragged and it really is mostly that.

BoulGram Fic Ideas (For possible Future Uses):
@azula-nyx
So about the whole scenario, I managed to watch the scenes (the sound effect, fingers waggling and blushing is so good, made me chuckle), managed to come up with a few ideas (still very rough).:
- Basically the trope of ‘both likes each other but either doesn’t know how to confess, are unaware of the feelings or simply think the other won’t like them back).
- About Graham being having a higher jealousy level, he seems to have lower self-esteem, so I like to imagine he unconsciously feels scared the other won’t want to hang around him anymore once they find someone he deems ‘better’ (he always tries to push those thoughts away however).
- Initially, he didn’t give it too much thought, Boulder always liked the outdoors so it’s great he has someone who can teach him more about plants, and gardening in general. Mrs Rubio is also a really sweet person, so he’s actually relieved they’re getting to know each other better now and Boulder has someone else whom he could bond a lot more with.
- Though as Boulder starts spending more and more time away, he starts feeling slightly uneasy, but pushes it aside, telling himself it’s irrational and it’s all feelings which would go away. Too much coffee perhaps, that’s why he’s anxious. Yeah, too much coffee.
- Spoilers, it didn’t, and turns out it wasn’t the coffee.
- He becomes even more agitated and confused, though continues to deny it. Parent and sibling intuition tells the other Burns something’s amiss, but can’t quite put a finger on it.
- Boulder both is unaware of Graham’s feelings and thinks it would be weird for him to confess because there’s a high chance Graham only wants to keep the relationship to rescue work and on a platonic level. Sure, they get along well, been together for a long time, have similar ideologies, enjoys each other’s ’ presence, would be nice to give him a hug and maybe even a smooch- nevermind, emergency time.
- OR Boulder is also unaware he has feelings for Graham as well, which makes him even more confused on the whole situation, for a mountain of reasons.
- Maybe one day, when he was gardening, he ended up asking Mrs Rubio how she and Mr Rubio met. Started with small but sweet talk about that, which became what she likes about him, then romance and thoughts about it in general then, oh.
(More chaos ensues.)

What would a "Super Princess Peach" scenario look like with your version of Mareach? That is- Mario (and maybe Luigi) gets captured and Peach has to go rescue him.
Hello there!! Thank you for the ask!
I actually have Super Princess Peach but I've never finished it, maybe I should go to that next chance I get 😆 But I adore the concept, I don't have any projects like it atm but I'd love to work out some thoughts on it!!
I can't get enough of mutual pining/confession scenarios, so it would probably be something like that. And probably a whump story 😳 Bowser must be really motivated to get under Peach's skin and hurt her, and as much as it pains him, it seems like she really cares about the stupid little plumber man so it makes sense to create a plan to capture him.
And, though he would never lay a claw on Peach while under his jurisdiction, he doesn't have the same inclinations toward Mario so why not play around and torment the guy? After all, he's foiled his plans how many times by now? He doesn't have enough claws to count. So he gets a bit of a kick out of giving Mario a taste of what he's been put through. Also, Mario is furious about this, but he's not gonna let Bowser see a hint of pain. So he tries not to react, just so he wouldn't get any satisfaction. Unfortunately, this only makes Bowser angry and has him double down on his efforts to hurt him.
But Mario is powerless in this scenario, as Bowser has found some kind of weakness of his. There wouldn't be any point in threatening Peach as Mario knows Bowser wouldn't hurt her already, but maybe he threatens to do worse to Luigi. Maybe he finds some sort of neutralizer to Mario's Firebrand, and finds creative(painful) ways to keep him awake and hungry so that he begins to lose his strength.
And the whole time, Mario is fretting because he knows Peach. He knows that she's so kind and wonderful and she'll probably arrange to rescue him. But despite knowing her strength, he hates this because he doesn't want her to have to go through everything he does to get to the Dark Kingdom. All those enemies, all those tough conditions. He can't protect her while he's chained down in the dungeon. And this is really what's killing him, despite Bowser trying to break his will. All he wants is for the Princess to be safe, and kidnapping him makes him unable to serve her that way. This man would happily lay down his life for her, but instead he's useless and trapped in a deep dark cell without sunlight or consistent sustenance or rest. All his effort and pain is meaningless here.
He starts to think a lot about his feelings. About how sweet and perfect and beautiful the Princess is. He loves her, he's suspected that he has for a long time. But he would never dare to speak up and say as much to her. He thinks he is not worth her time, that he is beneath her in every way. He is content living out a life of service to her because that alone is a privilege enough. But now even that outcome is up in the air. Doubts of his ability to escape cloud his mind.
Meanwhile, Peach is losing her mind. She did not hesitate to mobilize, storming her way to Bowser's castle. Initially, she was nervous for the journey. But she was so furious that Bowser would do this, so enraged and terrified for Mario's wellbeing, that she did not even think for a second of turning back.
Mario had rescued her so many times. It was about time she returned the favor, no matter how much he insisted she would never need to. That sweet man, always so willing to stand by her side, to defend her, to fight for her. He literally traveled across the world and to the center of the universe for her.
Oh. She recognized sensations in herself that she had only read about. The way her heart pounded, the way his pain was her pain, the way his smile sent butterflies fluttering in her stomach. The warmth of his touch, that cute little bashful face he made whenever she kissed him on the cheek. He always stood at a respectful distance, but she wanted nothing more than to be close to him.
And now he was hurt. Now he was in trouble, and she was going to rescue him if it killed her.
The last thing Mario wants is for her to have to fight Bowser. Actually, that's the last thing Bowser wants, too. He doesn't actually want to battle her, considering he'd like to marry her in one piece and also he knows she is more than capable of hurting him. But the Princess that storms his castle is ready for war and nothing is going to stop her.
She fights, and being at the sidelines is more painful than Mario can say. All of his instincts compelled him to go to her side, to fight for her, but he was powerless. There was nothing he could do but watch and worry and cry out if she got hit. The terror that seized him, watching her battle for his freedom, was cold and unforgiving.
She comes out victorious in the end, because Bowser just cannot triumph over her sheer will and power. And here I think my version of this story would focus a lot on the aftermath 😫
What if Mario collapses as soon as the battle is over, because he was just able to hold on until it was over? Bowser never got the satisfaction of seeing him beat, but he's beaten anyway. Peach rushes to his side, in near tears. She'd gotten so far, done all this by herself, and she can't lose him now. She doesn't know the extent of what Bowser had done to him. But she is safe, the danger is over, and Mario's body finally shuts down after everything.
She flies to him and wrenches open the cell. He is free, but at what cost? She drops to her knees and eases him up to rest upon her, hands shaking.
Their reunion is electric. She can't even think about escaping the castle with him in this state. She can't think about anything.
"I'm okay," he promises her, his voice barely there. He is bruised and bloodied, but his eyes shine with a faint hint of relief. He was so scared for her, but she did it. She made it to him and he's so proud.
Peach just holds him, her voice shaking as she wraps her arm around him. "You're not," she says. Her eyes darken, her voice clouds with more anger. She is stronger now, bolder after her journey. "What did he do to you?"
Mario doesn't have the capacity to describe it to her, and he begins to go limp. His eyes slide closed. "You did...You did so good. I am so...I am pr-proud..." he fades off. He's not dying, he's just extremely weak.
She seizes him all the same and presses her lips to his in a last ditch effort to rescue and restore his strength.
They kiss. Even as her healing magic takes effect, she continues to kiss him, desperate and relieved all at once for his safety. His wounds begin to heal, and he starts to shift beneath her. His hand raises up to cup her cheek and he kisses her back. It was nothing like their chaste touches before, or like any kiss she'd ever given to him or anyone else. Mario sighs with his newfound strength and murmurs that he loves her.
Peach gives a delighted, teary laugh and throws her arms around him as she confesses that she loves him, too.
...
Or maybe something like that 😅

“IT IS SHE WHO DECIDES WHO STEADILY SLEEPS IN DEATH AND WHO RISES TO WALK THE EARTH AGAIN.”
Perfect day to reveal this character I made for Bliss a while back considering it’s literally the autumnal equinox! A very important figure in the world’s lore, The Equinox is the “Mother Cryptid”, basically what God (or what’s called “Numen” in this universe) is to humans/angels. Humans usually worship both deities— Numen for prosperity in life and Equinox for peace in death.
The Equinox is also the cause of one other thing: equinoxal cryptids. These are the cryptids that are born after death. When a living thing on the Overworld, like a human or animal, meets an untimely demise (which basically just means their time was cut short abruptly, one example being murder) their soul remains dormant for a little while and is placed into a “ballot-type system” in the Equinox’s care. Usually most souls will eventually pass this system and move on into proper afterlife. But sometimes these souls get pulled from said ballot system and are chosen to be reincarnated as a cryptid. Usually these equinoxal cryptids are one of a kind— they don’t follow any already existing species. They’re just them— no other cryptid quite like they are. These forms are often drawn to resemble something in their past life, which can be as mundane or representative as Equinox chooses. Their memories are also usually clouded after the process. Little details can often be recalled, but some are shrouded away. Some remember their deaths, others do not, or at the very least remember basic details of it. But some are left with vivid memories of it. There’s not really much telling why she does this— it’s a mystery left unknown. Perhaps it’s like doll making… crafting something you can love and tend to and hopefully pass on to the next person who will take care of it.
Equinox doesn’t really look too much into the lives of who she reanimates— not that she really can at all. It’s pretty much at random chance whatever soul she pulls out to recreate, regardless of what kind of person they were. Does she sometimes do this to the wrong people? Well… It’s not like it would be her fault if it ever came to that.
During the first day of Autumn, it is considered a celebratory holiday for Cryptids, but not a lot of actual celebrating gets to happen this day. It’s said that The Equinox’s connection with cryptickind is closer and stronger than ever as she roams around the overworld to spread autumnal joy, but this actually causes the Cryptids to become “overwhelmed” with the sensation and become very sluggish/sleepy/sickly. Despite that, it is still a happy holiday for them, equinoxal or not.
