FROZEN BUT W OVERTHINKING

kristoff fr frozen 1 but he acts like the trolls that raised him instead of more human like w anna.

imagine the troll song. imagine him singing w them, convinced to get married in seconds, seeing no problem w the ceremony. anna protests. kristoff asks y. she says u cant marry someone u just met. he confused, "aint that what u doin w the prince?" she stutters.

she was raised as an only child n before that as the youngest. she cannot be the most responsible person here. she refuses to be the reasonable or responsible older sibling. shes the younger sister dammit n her older sister should be here to be responsible. in fact, elsa can deal w this. shes the older sister n she has to help solve annas problems cause she reserves her right as the youngest to have her problems solved by her older sibling n she will climb that dam mountain n make her sister do her older sibling duty n fix her love life.

cue elsa "theres an eternal winter??!!?" devolving into a panic attack, cut off by anna 'will punch a mofo, or in this case, slap a bee' moment. elsa boutta explode. anna "forget that! im engaged to a prince i met a couple days ago n a human troll-child a couple hours ago n i dont kno what to do! fix!! this!!!" elsa shocked right out of any panic or rage "...what?"

anna dramatically flops her body onto elsa n elsa panic summons an ice couch. theyre sprawled out; elsa confused n longsuffering regretting being born before the fellow fruit of their parents loins, anna sporadically switching between gushing n complaining bout her problems fr her dual engagements to how hard it was to pose midair for that one painting 'it took years of mastery elsa u wouldnt believe-'. kristoff has gotten the ice golem to make them ice dresses to twirl in. olaf is belting out his solo in front of his background dancers. sven is having an office/aoyama moment by looking directly into the camera. elsa already looks exhausted. the snow stops falling.

"oh n u froze my heart, but i just need true loves kiss, but again dual engagements!! what even right?? and ..." kristoff in the background "lets just all get married!" (the trolls were ready to get hitched to a strager in seconds, u cants tell me they dont have polyamory) olaf "ahem! soloing here!!" elsas quite but heartfelt "y"

annas hair goes back to normal n the snow starts melting outside the castle. she has resigned herself to older siblinghood. there is no love more reluctant or resilient. elsa would now kill for anna if she doesnt strangle anna herself. nows annas complaining about the table manners she had to learn.

"just let me eat the food, oh my gosh. who cares how big my cheeks are, if u just let me open my mouth i'll be able to shew it all! and-" "that's disgusting" *gasp* "how dare u" "what kind of gremlin whats to chew with their mouth open?" background kristoff "gremlins get a bad rep but theres not that bad if u get to kno em!" olaf gettin ignit "interrupt my solo again n i will kick u out of my castle" big golem softly "solo too long" *second lil sibling offended gasp* "excuse u, my solo is just the right length to portray..."

elsa wanted solitude. elsa looks like shes given up on her dream n life in general. golem looks like the most exhausted toddler-created-a-few-hours-ago ever. anna n olaf stiff goin off. sven is now glaring at the camera. its summer outside the castle.

So minus the villains in that category, who is love/hate and who is complicated?

im taking this to mean as who is "i love to hate them/i hate that i love them" (like i dunno, zapp brannighan or something), vs "complicated"

in that sense, besides villians (who im counting as scratch and condy), only erisol

my feelings against all of them are complicated and some of them are a downer/not fun to talk abt BUT in short its just a blanket statement that homestuck lost its way, and while i could say its cause hussie had a screw loose i mean lost its way in there were so many moving parts and he genuinely just forgot about some things (on record that alchemy was shafted simply because he never recalled it existed)

and things like the 3 year gap where two sep groups of charas besides john had actually nothing to do were a nessecairy evil so keeping them from getting maybe a little bit unnaturally characterizes is inevitable. like i hate what happened to wv the babyfication but i also dont think dave and kan n stuff reacted out of character or illogically given he doesnt speak and is sorta just doin stuff w his cans, and theres not a lot for him to do ON the meteor

its just things like that but for all of them, the most cut and dry one is probably just jane who i feel never really resolved anything with her friends on screen, and even though its implied and is 'satisfying' if you take the ending of homestuck as the end of intake (fuck what they did to her in the after stuff) its not fun to only see her for justifiable reasons or otherwise be on bad terms with everyone and then the story ends

TL:DR besides scratch and condy who r villains and the convo becomes dif about and besides erisol whos just the way he is for the funny i could write a post this long about each of them on how i feel but if theyre in that catagory its because i like them

distraction ask! if your ultimate + main f/os swapped roles, who would end up in what universe and how would it go? are theres any characters in the universe they get along with well or dislike? and among your ultimate and mains, who fell in love first and who confessed first?

this is gonna be long. not sure if you meant straight up like switching roles/backstories or just kinda like au so theres a mix. will do all the love/confession ones separately from the au/role switch. doin 2 of the au/role-switch for the first 2 but everyone else gets one cus this is so long

also if anyone searching a series/character sees this, it is selfship au cringe stuff just block if u dont wanna see it

omi first

- puttin him in the hypmic universe would be something. he’s not particularly shy & isnt scared of performing in front of others, until he hears the term “rap battle”, then he starts feeling nervous about performing in front of an audience. if he will be performing with mtc in place of rio, he’ll look the part, but acting the part or filling rios shoes is a whole different story. if he were to take on rios backstory, i actually see it as somewhat believable, but he would absolutely hate living the survival lifestyle, would get seriously lonely after like 8 hrs alone in the woods. would probably get along well with bb, since he’s good at dealing with rowdy teens, would get a long w/ bat for a similar reason. might be able to get along with the other 2 members of mtc after a grace period, he often deals with two people in his own group who butt heads in both universes, has the patience to put up with it. doesnt necessarily dislike anyone, but has people he finds it more difficult to get along with, the hifumi & doppo duo intimidate him a bit.

- i think gbf would also be a fun place to speculate him inhabiting. especially if he were to trade places with seofon. i dont think he has it in him to be as cunning as seofon, but i do see him being able to be an extremely capable warrior capable of being called an eternal. he led a gang of his own in a3, but despite its influence and reputation it pales in comparison to the eternals. he would take the role of leader of the eternals extremely seriously, dedicating most of his time to it, i could see him being almost consumed by it. theres so many gbf characters, and he’d get along with most. i think him and rackam would bond over a mutual love for their fav vehicles, i could see him getting along with all the other eternals too, especially the twins & he would be very dedicated to helping and visiting stardust. will definitely have better success assembling the eternals for meetings than seofon ever did. outside of like obvious villains, i dont think he’d get along with people who are overly-knightly/obsessed with their own version of justice. also he would be a draph because thats what i want

seofon next because it would be hilarious .

- a3 seofon would be almost impressive. capable of adapting to any character or role given, like omi will often get cast as a villain, but not for his looks, but for his ability to be villainous. would work best in a drama, but quite capable of pulling off other genres. has the charm to play a role in springs buddy plays, the ability to act in a comedy (despite the fact that his jokes outside of whats in the script often fall flat), has the physical ability to play in autumns actions, but most adept at playing “righteous villains” or villains who think theyre the hero in some form (ex: omis stray devil blues role). “get along with” is a bit of a loaded phrase with him, will he develop deep friendships? probably not. will he come to care for the members? yea, notably gets along with azuma & banri. he absolutely is passive aggressive as fuck with chikage, seriously fake as fuck, he doesnt quite get why he doesnt like chikage but he trusts his intuition enough to not question it.

- y/7 seofon is concerning. not the most “yakuza” looking dude, not the strongest looking dude ever. but fights with a sword of some kind surprisingly strong when he does fight, mostly because he’s very capable of strategy and cunning. i think a “rising from the bottom” journey fits him well tho. outside of like the antagonists, he’s able to get along w/ the y/7 gang for the most part, especially if he started out alone, gets along best with nanba. him an zhao are cordial, but theres something very off about the way they interact that you cannot place. not outwardly hostile, but as if theyre both constantly coming up with plans to deal with the other.

rio is the most likely out of anyone here to be able to adjust to his new life.

- but him in a universe that will require minimal fighting and will allow him minimal isolation, like a3, will be the biggest challenge for him. he can easily perform on stage, but acting is not easy for him, imitating emotions especially is a struggle for him. even more of a struggle is probably almost utter lack of alone time. like omi, he enjoys cooking, especially for people he cares about or likes, but him and omi garner completely different reactions when seen in the kitchen. omi is met with relief, rio is met with fear. he is by no means a bad cook, and what he cooks tastes good, but the ingredients and look are off-putting. fits best with autumn as action geared plays are where he belongs, theres an unspoken rule to not put him in a comedy unless the character is meant be comedic in the fact of not being funny/not able to understand comedy. gets along with pretty much everyone, gets along with banri & juza purely because the familiar feeling of jyuto & samatoki. gets along well with tasuku & hisoka because he can be comfortably silent with them. struggles to get along with itaru because of how different they are.

sugimoto has an almost perfect fit.

- he would fit incredibly well into y/7. surviving getting shot? check. climbing up from the bottom? check. a ragtag group of friends bordering on found family? check. a deep care and want to help those he cares for? check. he is also incredibly tough, his fighting ability would definitely help him in the y/7 universe. instead of a standard tattoo, his scars would come to symbolize his status. earns the “immortal” nickname. he’s also dealt with cunning opponents and is equipped to deal with a lot of the y/7 ones. gets along well with the eccentrics of the bunch more than those who are more normal, doesnt even dislike any of the y/7 gang but has a harder time getting along with like eri/saeko since theyre pretty normal comparatively.

ichiban was the hardest here to place. its hard to see him fitting in somewhere else.

- but gbf ichi has potential. he is a capable leader and has shown to be able to decently strategize, but if push came to shove, handling everything the eternals do or having to be cunning or cruel is something he’d struggle immensely with, on the other hand the charity work, the protection, the heroism of the role is what keeps him at it. this is the best way for his rpg hero dreams to come true, he will likely have to fight an actual dragon at some point. extremely easy for him to get along with others, he’s also pretty forgiving. has trouble with anre tho, just do their interactions having to have some political lace, much like seofon and anres.

as for who fell in love first/confessed first

- for omi, it depends on how you define “fell for”. i definitely ~fell~ for him quickly, but it took a bit for that initial feeling to grow deeper. i fell first, but he fell harder first. for both of us, it took a while to confess, we’re both dealing with issues feeling unworthy or guilty about more positive emotions, but i confessed first.

- for seofon, theres no real “who fell first” we got along very naturally from the start. he developed romantic feelings before i did tho, by a small margin. there was also no real confession, we hung out a lot and people thought we were already together anyways. plus, with how dangerous the gbf world is and especially how dangerous his role is, it almost felt like asking for trouble if there was any official labeling or start to our relationship. it took a while before we officially “confessed” or labeled anything.

- for rio, its a struggle to figure out who fell for the other first. he’s had feelings for someone before, but that was a long time ago when he was a teen. he had trouble identifying what the emotions he felt for me exactly were, he knew i was a friend, but he knew he felt something deeper. i think i developed feelings first but there was a lot of hesitation due to how different we are and how different our lifestyles are. i’m the one who confessed, because he would likely not.

- for sugimoto, he fell first, but i fell harder faster. due to the general circumstances, neither of us were focused on our romantic feelings, so it took a while to confess. he actually confessed first.

- for ichiban, i fell first, and it took him a while to feel the same way about me. confessing wasnt an option for me, because the dude was going thru a lot & i didnt wanna add pressure or uneasiness. but he’s very open and confessed not long after figuring out he felt that way about me.

entirely a personal thing, but most of the time i dont like tabbing in to roleplay bits that seem "forced" or planned even in other ppls streams, and the thing abt tales is that its p much. Entirely that. i can appreciate the amount of work that karl puts into it but unfortunately the way he does it doesnt seem very good at fostering fun interactions between the creators in favor of a preplanned plot, which is what im here for. but yeah techno popped off in the stream gfdshkfs

Its like. Really difficult to build up a Character and Relationships between characters in the Small amount of time they are given its what. An hour maybe?? Thats. Not much. So a lot a the interactions feel so stiff and forced and Uncomfortable cuz. They dont know what to do or say or whats Expected.

Honestly its p much why ppl tend to make theyre characters Jokes i feel. Its entertaining when theyre doin some Weirdshit like whatever quackity was doin cuz like. No need to build up a compelling character when youre wearing a speedo shdkdbdn

hey i wanna talk abt Robert Englund’s motive for Freddy Krueger for a bit

been doin a lot of rambles lately ok i got thoughts in my noggin i gotta getm out theyre cloggin up the limited space in there

And yeah we are gonna be talkin about pedo shit so if you don’t like that stuff don’t read

I already kind of posted about this a whiiiile ago with this quote from Robert himself, but I feel like exploring it more and what it truly entails. Now, as a kid, I never was too fond of the belief that Freddy could be a pedo, but at the same time it was hard for me to find any reason why he would target kids for any other notion other than a sexual one. Well, folks, Robert Englund has the answer. If you don’t know, Englund has said the reason why Freddy kills children is to kill the future. He’s envious of their youth, of having the world still laid out before them. He got this idea while sitting in the makeup chair beside Heather Langenkamp and Johnny Depp; he felt jealous of these young actors, whose careers had only just begun. And that’s when he realized that’s exactly how Freddy felt. This also fits really well with the additional backstory we are given in subsequent sequels. Being the bastard son of 100 maniacs, Freddy never got to have a great childhood. It makes sense why this troubled mind would want to take away the childhood of the next generation, just like his was taken away.

And now for the elephant in the room, many of you may agree that in this motive there isn’t much wiggle room for Freddy to also be a pedophile. I agree with how Robert put it: it’s “too much icing on the cake.” Could he also be a pedo? Sure... if you want. Again, as Robert said, it’s up to the viewer. But in my opinion that would just seem tacked on. Robert’s vision for Freddy’s motive is so much more powerful to me, and makes more sense in the final product of the series. To also lop sexual deviance onto this seems almost out of place.

And I know Freddy acted pretty risque at times, but to me these always came off as Freddy torturing his victims. He gets power from fear. When he tells Nancy “I’m your boyfriend now,” it’s a more fucked up way of saying “it’s just you and me” with the additional message of “yeah I just killed your BF lol”

And him being a pedophile begs the question why Freddy switched to teenagers? If little kids is how he gets his sick kicks, why doesn’t he go back to children after Dream Master? And why does he never actually just... ahem, violate the teens or kids in their dreams? He easily could. But he doesn’t. He only kills them and occasionally says some funky shit. I guess the point of this post is to show that yes, there IS an argument to be made for those who believe Freddy is not a pedo, and also Robert Englund has great takes PS yes i know freddy was a rapist in the original script, but most importantly that was scrapped from the final film. What’s canon is that Freddy is a child killer... whether he’s anything more than that is up to you to decide.

im gonna answer this similarly to duckie [also duckie if u see this hi bro hope ur havin a nice day] and also under a cut cos i can ramble a lot

while the term “bad person” is a suggective term that can have very different meanings depending on who you ask, im just going to assume you mean “just a generaly dislikable person for any reason in particular” as most often do

tl:dr, i dont think shes a bad person, per say, and am cutting her a lot of slack due to being young, but i do think she should express her opinions differently and should also get new friends because wow that crowd is so toxic i need a hazmat suit to get close to it.

i dont really know much abt her aside from what i saw from an incident a while back, plus some other things i saw floating around my dash via word of mouth and some longass game of telephone with my own occasional check at her blog. her most major thing seems to have been some encounter with kiingcorrobo [i genuinely cant remember how the blog is spelled so im sorry :pensive:] and her thing abt seamoon. lets talk about seamoon first, then well talk abt the other stuff.

anyway while im personally a little more biased to dislike her [she did apologize for what she did however so ill try not to let this cloud my judgement overall] and because shes a minor like i am [and if i remember correctly around my age? maybe older but im unsure and i dont feel like goin to her blog rn] im not going to be as harsh as i usually would be when dealing with just some random person on the internet whos an adult. because children wouldnt know better either way.

anyway i do personally believe that her opinions abt seamoon are valid but she could possibly go a better way about it.

her whole issue with seamoon is. fine. i get it, you dislike a ship due to personal reasons, you dont owe anyone an explanation aside from “i just dont like it” and as long as youre not a dick over it, i dont see the issue.

i do think she could go about it differently [she once said there was no proof? i think? dont quote me on that my memory is bad] and that it could just be “ohh a best friend stare” despite how heavily its hinted at [i remember that one a lot better cos it got me a little miffed ngl] and like. ok. fine. just acknowledge that its very strongly hinted at and then go on your way, you dont need to insist its not real.

HOWEVER.

i have repeatedly seen people get angry and violent with her over this. yes, she definately could have gone about expressing her opinions better. yes, she shouldnt disreguard any sort of wlw rep or coding because she doesnt like it for whatever reason. ill admit that much.

but that does not, ever, at all, make it okay for people to have treated her, a CHILD, presumably, the way they have.

people are entitled to their own opinions as long as it isnt harming anyone! and if someones opinions seem a little off, you dont immediately attack them, especially if theyre someone thats young and probably dont know the full extent of what theyre thinking. you tell them what theyre doing and why its wrong or just iffy in general, and help them grow from that. we are human, humans naturally grow to better themselves when given the chance, and if theyre never given a chance to grow from the past, then they cant ever grow up. if you want her to grow up, then give her a fucking chance.

now. lets talk abt the kiingcorobo thing.

from what i know; someone told kiingcorobo that she supported whitewashing and was homophobic, i believe.

now, im not a person of color so i am not really inclined to talk abt whitewashing, all i can say is that its terrible and fuck anyone who does it, like honestly if you whitewash u have. no rights.

so i cant talk abt this topic much aside from; whitewashing is terrible, dont do it, but i personally have no idea when she [pony] mentioned it at all and honestly im not too willing to go searching thru her blog fo hm. actually no im pretty hung up on this brb

ok no she hasnt mentioned it as far as i can tell. so im unsure on those claims and im more inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt, being a minor and all, and while minors are not autmoatically excused from doin bad shit that just means they still have a chance to better grow from that, so. yea.

anyway onto the topic im actually able to talk abt. the homophobic comment.

lgbt people can be homophobic! wow! doesnt matter if its internalized or youre just genuinely an asshole, lgbt ppl can in fact be homophobic. bi/pan ppl, gay ppl, trans ppl, no one group of the community is completely pure from that. thats just a fact.

however, due to the issues shes had in the past with the seamoon thing, i do think ppl are just taking that as her one defining personality trait. theyre probably seeing that n twisting it wayyy outta proportion.

thats my general thoughts on her and wow this is way longer than i had originally hoped and this reads more as an analysis of her as a person rather than my general thoughts but. eh what can you do.

oh but i do think she could get better friends lmao, shes in such a toxic crowd and for someone so young i feel genuinely so bad for her.

THE DRAGON PRINCE SEASON 2 TRAILER BREAKDOWN

I’ve already watched the trailer once, and my mind just about exploded, so now I’m watching it again and I’m going to basically liveblog it with reactions, analyses, thoughts, and other such things. Everything will be beneath the cut for those who don’t wish to see, and also because I feel like this is going to get pretty long.

I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating: I would die and kill for Azymondias. Literally he is the most precious being in this entire show and I would do anything for him, sweet baby boy.

But speaking of dragons . . .

I STAN TWO DRAGONS. Okay, no, but real talk:

In the voiceover for this part, Viren says:

“There have been reports of shadows in the clouds. Dragons! Flying high above the towns of Katolis!”

I’m . . . suspicious.

I know that this voiceover is given with the shot of this beautiful dragon flying overhead, but here’s the thing: We see them flying over Soren’s head:

Soren may or may not still be in Katolis in this shot. Soren and Claudia are following Callum, Rayla, Ezran, and Azymondias. Those four are headed into Xadia. We don’t know when they’ll make it to Xadia, but it’s possible they do make it there, or at least near there, and that’s when this shot takes place. It’s possible this dragon isn’t above Katolis at all, but is instead somewhere far closer (and maybe even over) the border.

And that would make sense. Why would the dragons be going to Katolis now? The moonshadow elves were the ones sent to take vengeance on behalf of the dragon queen, and Runaan sent his arrow telling her that Harrow was dead. I suppose you could argue that since they never received word of Ezran’s death they’re now sending dragons to scout and look for the assassins, but I find that unlikely. In my opinion, if they were going to go after Katolis themselves, they would have done that first, rather than sending the moonshadow elves. I simply don’t see a motivation for the dragons to fly over Katolis now.

More importantly, though, is what Viren says. He says there are “reports of shadows in the clouds.” He then says that those shadows are dragons. Here’s the thing: shadows could be anything. They could be birds. They could be some other sort of flying creature, and hell, they could even be more clouds, with the way the sun plays on them. But Viren knows that the people of Katolis are currently in a state of fear and unrest since Harrow was assassinated and the princes are missing. He wants the throne, and one way to get it is to have the people themselves insist on putting him on it because there are no other options and they’re scared. And what’s scarier to the people of Katolis than massive dragons in the sky? No one has seen any actual dragons (and you’d think they’d be pretty hard to miss), but people have seen shadows that Viren has now made them think are dragons, and so every single time they see a shadow, they’ll flinch. To me, it sounds an awful lot like Viren is trying to stir up fear in order to get a popular vote to put him on the throne whether the princes die by Soren’s hand or not. Him going on to say:

“And Sunfire Elves are gathering near the border. An invasion is imminent!”

Only serves to stoke the fires (pardon the pun) of that fire. Presumably, elves were already near the border, which is why Amaya and her troops are there. But Viren is acting like this is a new development, and him doing that is made to further stir up fear among the people. Moreover, Viren saying that the Sunfire Elves being near the border means impending invasion is also a way to subtly undermine Amaya; she’s there guarding the border, but he’s basically saying that she’ll be ineffective in stopping the Sunfire Elves. Since he’s in a position of authority as well, and since he’s already making the people terrified, this serves to plant the idea (at least in the public subconscious) that Amaya isn’t strong enough to stop things on her own, thus they need Viren and his leadership.

Meanwhile, as he says “we must be prepared to fight!” Amaya is already fighting and has been prepared for a long time now. Also, on that note, I DON’T KNOW WHO TO ROOT FOR HERE. I LOVE AMAYA BUT ALSO THAT SUNFIRE ELF LOOKS AMAZING AHHHHHH

Amaya may be fighting at the border and Gren may be in the dungeon, but Opeli is carrying on the message of wanting to find the princes. I think the Amaya/Opeli shippers may be onto something tbh.

AARAVOS? IS THAT YOU??

More importantly, the voiceover we get at that part (is that Lujanne? I plan to rewatch s1 before s2 releases but I haven’t done it yet) at that part says “dark forces are pursuing you.” We see Aaravos and Viren, but if that is Lujanne (particularly since it’s followed by Rayla saying “Nooobody likes dark forces”), then that leads me to think she’s actually referring to Soren and Claudia, which would make sense since Claudia is the dark magic prodigy willing to torture people to get what she wants instead of giving them quick, merciful deaths.

Also, this shot of Viren:

He gathered up the fire around him, but I think it’s relevant that this shot followed the shot of Aaravos using fire magic as well, given what we learned in Aaravos’ bio on the website today:

The ability to gather up the fire like that might have been a gift that Aaravos gave to Viren. But why? Why would an elf bequeath a gift like that unto a human, and particularly one that sees magical beings as being batteries for power? Particularly one who seals moonshadow elves into coins? Hmm . . . that poem that we were given might have something to do with it . . . we’ll supposedly find the rest “hidden in season two” . . .

Okay, I’ve seen a lot of people freaking out about Aanya’s safety in this scene, but here’s the thing:

They’re not attacking her.

Aanya does look freaked out and scared, but these elves aren’t attacking her. If they wanted to attack her, they’d do it. She’s right there. Her neck isn’t covered by armor. They could kill her if they wanted to, but they’re not. Instead, it looks like they’re moving to fight someone in front of her, which leaves us two possibilities: Either they think that there’s a bigger threat right in front of them than the tiny human queen on the throne, or they’re defending her from what they see as the bigger threat (which gives more credence to my idea that Aanya might have elf allies on her side). It’s possible that the reason why Aanya is freaking out is because she didn’t expect them to be able to transform like that, and not because they’re elves with weapons in her throne room.

More worrying, though, is their appearance. That’s not how moonshadow elves look under the light of the full moon. Their eyes didn’t glow red like that. They weren’t completely black like that. Could this be how they look under a new moon? I guess . . . but these elves also look kind of similar to the ones that were killed in the King Harrow assassination attempt, so I’d say it’s also possible that these are zombie elves. If that’s the case, and if these aren’t Aanya’s friends, then might it be possible that this is a trick by Viren made to make the rulers of the other kingdoms see Xadia as even more of a threat than they did previously? HMMM . . .

I WOULD KILL AND DIE FOR HIM.

Okay, so here’s the thing: The voiceover for this part is Callum saying:

“I want to learn primal magic. But you have to be born with that magic inside you.”

I feel like the fact that we have that voiceover with these clips is significant. I think it’s significant, too, that Lujanne is showing such a blatantly elven magic thing to Callum instead of Rayla. I think we might see potential this season for Callum to find out that he does have some primal magic inside him. I’m not saying “half-elf Callum” but . . . I’m not not saying that, you feel me? (And what if that’s what Harrow’s letter to Callum was? What if he was telling Callum of his inherent magical ability, and asking him to use that inherent ability---rather than dark magic---to help Ezran be king? HMMM . . .)

However, then we get this bit from Claudia:

“That’s the great thing about dark magic! You just take creatures that are born with that magic inside, and . . . squeeze it out of them!”

YEAH, BIG MOOD, CALLUM.

See, this is what I’ve been saying about Claudia and dark magic this entire time. Everyone wants to peg Claudia as a sweet cinnamon roll because she’s quirky and funny and loves her brother, but the thing is . . . where Soren was going to give Runaan a quick, arguably merciful death, Claudia instead ordered him to be tied up because she thought she could get “more use” out of him. She wanted to drain him dry of his magic, even though that meant chaining him up in the dungeon and killing him slowly (and he later had his soul drained, screaming). Claudia believes Viren that Azymondias’ egg is a thing, and she sees it as a powerful weapon. Why? Because Azymondias is a dragon, presumably, and dragons are incredibly powerful. Even here, look at the expression on her face as she squeezes her book, listen to the tone of her voice and what she says; Claudia thinks it’s great to kill magical beings and take their magic for her own use. She gets enjoyment and pleasure out of it.

Comparisons could be made between this and killing animals for food. What’s the difference between killing a cow to get a stake, and killing an elf to get their magic? The difference is the necessity. People need to eat. If they don’t eat, they’ll starve. And if people need to eat meat for protein or other dietary reasons, they need to kill a cow to get that meat. (Or a chicken, or a deer, or an elk, or whatever else.) But humans, even in this universe, don’t need to use magic. It’s not necessary for their survival. Eating is, but dark magic isn’t. It certainly isn’t to the extent that Claudia uses it, for pranks and making pancakes. Claudia delights in the torture and death of magical creatures for her own personal convenience. She doesn’t have to do the things she does---she could just make normal pancakes like a normal person---but she chooses to, and she likes it, she promotes it as being great. But it isn’t, and Callum’s reaction here tells us that, even in this world, Claudia’s behavior and attitude in this arena is out of the ordinary. And before anyone blames this on Viren, no. Viren taught her dark magic originally, yes, but Claudia is sixteen. She’s old enough to know right from wrong, to think and make decisions for herself, and her reaction to Viren telling her to sacrifice Soren tells us that she does recognize when Viren says things she disagrees with. Claudia’s opinions and behavior with regards to dark magic are entirely her own. Her complete disregard for the lives of magical beings, and her willingness to torture their magic out of them for her own personal convenience and gain, is entirely her own.

Does Claudia have elements of sweetness in her toward those she loves? Sure.

But she’s still incredibly dangerous and has a sadistic side to her as well. As Aaron Ehasz said, if she was a bender in the Avatar universe, she’d be a bloodbender.

Oh nooooo, what is happening here. My first thought was that perhaps Callum just learned of Harrow’s death, but in that case I find it strange that we don’t have Ezran in this shot as well. So perhaps, since we know that Soren and Claudia catch up to them, Claudia gives Callum the letter that Harrow wrote for him, Callum read it . . . and that’s what leads to this. ;A;

I STAN A QUEEN.

THAT LOOKS LIKE QUEEN SARAI ON THAT HORSE. And that person on the back . . .

THAT LOOKS AN AWFUL LOT LIKE VIREN.

So here are my thoughts: We know that King Thunder was known for protecting the border. Whenever humans tried to cross, Thunder fended them off. My thought is that Viren crossed the border to poach more magical creatures for use in his dark magic spells. After all, magical creatures aren’t native to the human kingdoms, so the only place he could get them is within Xadia. When Viren crossed the border, this angered Thunder, and Thunder did what he always did: He attacked in order to defend the Xadians (which, considering Viren likely wanted to poach them for dark magic, is fair).

Now, here’s where Sarai comes in: Either Viren convinced Sarai to take him across the border in the first place, or Sarai found out what he was doing somehow and ran in to rescue him. Either way, she got him on the back of her horse and together they fled from Thunder’s attack. But whether Thunder was directly attacking them or trying to fend them off doesn’t really matter much when he’s causing lightning to crash down around them. Their horse was only a horse, and likely it got scared. There’s a very high probability that they were both thrown from the horse. Viren sustained permanent injury in his leg, and Sarai was killed. This is what led to Harrow, in his griefstricken rage, deciding to slay Thunder.

I know a lot of people will read that and will decide that the moonshadow elves were not justified in killing Harrow, then, because Thunder killed Sarai first, but if you think that, I ask you to look at this hypothetical scenario again. Thunder only retaliated to drive humans—at least one of whom wanted to poach and therefore kill Thunder’s people for dark magic—out of Xadia. Thunder wouldn’t leave the border; he was always there to defend it. Viren is the one who instigated this conflict if this scenario pans out, not Thunder. That doesn’t mean it was all right for Sarai to die—she was a casualty in this—but it does mean that if anyone “started it,” it was Viren.

And do you know who else I think holds this opinion? Amaya.

This would explain Amaya’s mistrust of Viren: she blames him for Sarai’s death. Viren was the one who decided to cross the border, either necessitating Sarai’s rescue or goading Sarai to go with him. Either way, it was not something that needed to be done. But he did it anyway, and Sarai died for it. There’s a possibility that Amaya even believes this was premeditated on Viren’s part, that he wanted Sarai to die so that he could have a stronger voice in Harrow’s ear. Whether or not that’s true, though, I do think Amaya would blame Viren for Sarai’s death in this scenario, which would perfectly explain why she doesn’t trust or like him at all.

(Also, while I think that Viren would cross to poach magical creatures, it’s also possible that he crossed because he found out that the dragon queen had an egg, and that he wanted to steal Azymondias’ egg from the get-go. Claudia said that Viren views it as a weapon, and we know that Viren himself views it as more valuable than his own son. If Thunder retaliated against Viren and Sarai so fiercely, it could be because Viren wasn’t only there to poach creatures, but that Viren was caught trying to steal Azymondias’ egg, which caused Thunder to retaliate even more harshly than he ordinarily would have. In that case, Viren would goad Harrow to kill Thunder not just out of retaliation, but also so he could have another shot at stealing the egg, which he then did. It’s something to think about, anyway.)

I am . . . SO upset if this is Callum using dark magic like I think it is. Like how DARE he, how DARE he do that. I really, really hope this is some kind of misdirect, or that he immediately regrets his decision, but Callum, CALLUM, how DARE you, Callum, how DARE you!!!!

“EAT HIM, DRAGON!!” I scream, knowing full well that this is the same dead dragon that we saw Ezran by just moments ago. (Note that I don’t hate Soren, but it’s just that if his opponents are Rayla or a dragon, I’m going to root for them and not him.)

All in all, my head is spinning, my mind is blown, and I was already hyped through the roof but now I’m even more so. SEASON TWO. SEASON TWO CANNOT COME FAST ENOUGH.

Five top (or obscure) facts about Mallow? And, what are your general thoughts about Faerie Mechanics?

firstly Mallow is my dnd character for this small in-person campaign i’m doin at school, she is a minotaur and a circle of spores druid

other facts:

she was born and raised in an underground labyrinth, in a minotaur druid commune, theyre all really big on mushrooms there

she left the commune to look for exotic mushrooms, a man named Barry whom she met on the road told her she could find them in Waterdeep so that’s how she wound up meeting the party

I imagine that the minotaur part of her is highland cattle-esque, shes fluffy and soft and has very large brown eyes

her favorite thing that she owns is the mushroom plush toy she bought in Waterdeep

she likes taking care of people, and likes people who care about plants and fungi

oh gosh i love faerie mechanics the basis of most of my faerie lore assumes that faerie are essentially nexuses of energy from the land Faerie that converge upon a point because of a Name; the Name is what separates the faerie from the land itself. faerie have no distinct physical forms, although some forms may become associated with Names and tied to them. they have no concept of gender. it is very hard for a faerie to get rid of a Name once it is a part of their self. corporeal beings have a much easier time shedding Names.

the energy part and the Names part for now make up most of the mechanics, I have to figure out how transport from here to faerie works, and the effect it has on corporeal beings

also important is the metaphysical potential energy of relatively stable matter; given that faeries are energy they dont have any matter. our stable physical forms build up a big charge of metaphysical potential energy from staying in the same place; faerie can feed off of that energy in various ways, sometimes through emotional discharge or through a physical link (see monsters inc and coraline)

Black Paper Moon

She missed them. There wasn't a time when she didn't. She was sitting at the kitchen table, looking through an old photo album. "Hey Maka, what're you doin' up?" Maka turned around to look at the albino standing in the kitchen doorway. She quickly shut the photo album. "Nothing!" She lied. He wasn't convinced. "You're thinking about them again huh?" Maka sighed, nodding slightly. Soul approached her calmly, and took a seat beside her, quickly enveloping her in a gentle hug. "I know you miss them Maka, but it's been almost six years now. You should stop hoping to recover them," Soul said softly. Maka huffed and pulled away. "Well how would you feel if Black⭐️Star was taken from you? You wouldn't be over it in five-and-three-quarters of a year would you?" She spat back angrily. Soul sighed. "No, I guess not," he said, realizing he was defeated. Her success was short-lived however, as her sadness quickly returned. She re-opened the photo album to a picture of her standing next to a tall person with choppy pink hair wearing a white suit. She had her arm around them, and the two were smiling, a black blush painting their cheeks a deep ebony. She gently touched the picture, a sad smile making its way onto her face. She remembered that night. Only a few nights before they ran away, never to be seen again, and to eventually sacrifice themself in order to save her. She remembered that day, six years ago, when she'd said goodbye to them on a moon encased in black blood. She remembered holding their bony hand for the last time, feeling that same cold hand gently touch her cheek. She remembered hugging their overly thin body before they ripped themself away, the kishin Asura overtaking them. She remembered the way they smiled at her, tears falling from their silver eyes as they said goodbye. "Don't be sad Maka, my final memory will be of you. I'll be able to keep you in mind for the rest of eternity." She felt hot tears fall from her eyes as she remembered that day. Six years ago. Six years ago and the memory still tore her heart open as if it were butter. Soul sighed softly, noticing immediately that she was remembering again. But before he could speak, she grabbed the photo album and pulled on her coat, quickly running outside and towards the DWMA. She knew that going there wouldn't solve anything, but the school roof had a beautiful view of the moon. It was late at night, but she knew Sid would let her in. She was greeted at the main entrance by Sid, who's blue face looked mildly concerned by the girl's distressed state.

"Maka, I don't think going up there is a good idea, it'll just upset ya' more. I never liked seeing kids upset. That's just the kinda man I was," the zombie said softly to her. She sighed, wiping away her tears before speaking once more. "I'm going." The zombie sighed, before moving out of the way and letting her into the empty school. She found her way to the roof quickly, and sat by the railing, looking up at the black blood moon. She opened the album once more, this time to a different picture. This one was that same person with choppy pink hair, only this time, they were asleep under a pile of blankets in their corner. She had given them the blankets after noticing that they were shivering on the piece of floor that they'd named "Mr. Corner." She smiled fondly at the image for a moment, before looking back up at the moon. "Remember that? You were so tired that first night. You were too scared to leave Mr. Corner." She laughed softly as more tears fell from her eyes. She turned the page. This picture was of that same person, their head resting on Maka's lap as she combed her fingers through their messy pink hair. More tears fell. She looked up at the black moon. It almost didn't even look real. It almost looked like paper. A Black Paper Moon. More tears fell. "I remember you liked me singing to you. For a while you couldn't sleep unless I did." At that point her vision was completely obscured from the tears rapidly falling. "You-you liked this one song in particular-" she sobbed softly as she remembered the lyrics. "Fairy blue, it is only for you, that I would crush the stars, and put up on display, a black Paper Moon-" her singing was cut off by a harsh sob as she clutched the album close to her chest. She forced herself to continue. "-If you really put your faith in me, when you're lost here I am, forever with your soul-" another harsh sob. "Waiting here above you patiently, just like the shining moon," she finished the verse, hugging the photo album tightly as she sobbed uncontrollably. She couldn't help but think of how fitting it was, considering their tragic fate.

She placed the album back onto the rooftop, wiping away her tears to look at more photos. And yet, Maka found herself going back to that one. The one of her and that person together at the party. She gently took it out of the page's protective cover, flipping it over to the back.

Seeing what they had written brought on a fresh wave of pain in her chest. They had left that in Mr. Corner for her. She clutched the photo and cried out loudly to the sky, pained sobs ripping themselves from her throat as tears rained down her cheeks and onto the roof. It hurt. Her chest, her throat, her heart. It all hurt so badly. Her heart hurt. It hurt and nothing could make it stop. Nothing except them. Crona. She sobbed and cried out to the black blood moon as if they'd hear her. She oh so desperately wished they would. She screamed at the sky, screamed and cried and tried to tell them that she loved them. That she loved them and wished she'd been able to tell them. Eventually, her body became too tired to carry on its painful heaving, and so she fell onto the roof, her face beside the photo and album. And still, the tears continued to fall. She whispered softly. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry I couldn't save you, I'm sorry that you did that for me I-" she sobbed softly, "-I love you Crona." She curled up on the rooftop as fresh tears started to flow. After a few minutes, Maka heard someone speak. "Maka, let me take you home, okay?" It was Tsubaki. Maka sat up and wiped away her tears, nodding. Tsubaki helped her up, tenderly holding her shoulders as if to ensure that she didn't fall. She left the album behind.

A few days later, her prayers were answered. She had no idea what had happened, all she knew was that Soul had received an urgent call from Kid, and they were needed immediately. Maka now knew why. Before her on the barren landscape of the moon, was Crona. Their body was sprawled out as if they'd just been tossed there, and they were covered in their own black blood. Maka's eyes went wide, and her hands went slack as she fell to her knees. She faintly heard Soul clattering to the ground, and the other DWMA students rushing to her and Crona's side. Soul ran to her side, seemingly as shocked as she was. “That’s Crona.....Maka, that’s Crona!” He said, breathless from the sheer shock of it. “Are they-are the alive?” Maka quickly fumbled around, feeling desperately for a pulse somewhere on Crona’s limp and bony body. She sobbed in relief at feeling a steady pulse in their throat. Soul put a hand on her shoulder. “We should-we should contact Naigus and see if she can help them,” he said, voice gentle but still trembling. Maka nodded and stood as Soul helped her hoist Crona’s lifeless body between them.

They returned as quickly as possible to DWMA, Kid greeting them at the door. “I knew it....” he said upon seeing Crona. “There’s no other reason for the blood casing to be destroyed......is Asura dead?” Maka nodded. “Please Kid, get Naigus. We have to save Crona,” Maka croaked out softly, her legs shaking from holding Crona’s body up.

Naigus has been shocked at seeing Maka and Soul there with Crona, but quickly brought them into the infirmary.

Maka waited and waited for some sort of news. Soul has forced her to go home to eat and sleep, but she was restless. She couldn’t focus on anything until she knew if Crona was okay.

It was about a week before anybody got any news from Naigus. Maka has passed out at the kitchen table, and Soul had put her into her bed. Of course, not too long after that, Maka’s cell phone rang. She sprung up and answered immediately. “Maka, come here. I’ve got news,” said Naigus. She sounded tired, as if she hadn’t slept all week. Maka replied quickly, before sprinting out of her apartment and directly to DWMA.

She’d managed to get to the infirmary doors before being stopped by Naigus. She looked up at Naigus, who gave her a gentle smile. “Maka, theyre alive-“ Maka grabbed her arm, causing Naigus to gently remove her hand. “-but they aren’t in good condition. Please remain calm, okay?” Maka nodded hurriedly, and Naigus opened the door to Crona’s room.

Maka’s jaw dropped. “H-hi Maka...” Crona was in a wheelchair by one of the windows next to the bed in the center of the room. Their face, arms and body appeared to be covered in bandages. The third eye of the kishin was still present on their forehead. The most obvious things that had changed however, were much more extreme. There were only bandages where their legs should have been, their legs ending in stubs just below the thigh. A few of their fingers seemed to be missing to, as the bandages on their left hand were oddly shaped.

Crona fidgeted slightly in their seat, seemingly thinking that Maka was bothered by their new state. Maka felt tears come to her eyes as she slowly stepped forward. “Crona......Crona you’re-you’re alive,” she said, hot tears rolling down her cheeks as she looked at Crona. Crona, who had been gone for six years. Crona, who was thought dead, who’d sacrificed themself for her. Crona-whom Maka loved with all of her heart. Crona’s dark eyes went wide as they saw her tears. “N-no! P-please don’t-don’t cry! It’s ok, I’m ok!” They said, waving their bandaged hands around as if to prove their point.

Maka quickly took the few steps forward to gently embrace Crona where they sat. “Crona....I’m-I’m so happy-“ she sobbed. Crona’s breath hitched, and Maka felt one of their hands gently push her away by the shoulder. Maka swiped away her tears with her sleeve, and forced a smile for Crona. Crona’s eyes shifted to the floor. “Do you-do you still want-still want me......as a friend?” They asked, tears forming at the corners of their own dark eyes. Maka was taken aback. “Crona, why would you ever think that I wouldn’t?” She asked, legitimately wondering why on earth they’d think that. Crona swallowed audibly. “Because I-I did all of those bad things and-“ they paused, averting their gaze. “And I’m like this now. I’m disabled Maka, won’t I just be a burden to you?” Their eyes met hers, and she saw that they were on the brink of tears.

She was shocked. Where had they gotten the idea that they’d be a burden due to their disability? To her they were still just Crona. She placed a hand on their shoulder. “Hey-“ Crona looked up at her, their eyes shiny with tears. “-this is of no consequence to me okay? To me you’re still just Crona. You’re still my friend, and even if you need more help with things, I don’t mind at all,” Maka said with a smile. Crona’s eyes went wide. “You-you don’t mind having to wheel me around?” Maka laughed softly. “Nope! Not at all!” Crona smiled and laughed softly, as if realizing how strange their worries were.

“You’re right I just-“ They paused for a moment. “-guess I don’t know how to deal with this yet.” Maka smiled. “Then I guess I’ll help you learn then! After all, I am your best friend, remember?” Maka said, removing a glove and holding her hand out in front of them, just as she had after restoring the water to their soul. Tears fell from Crona’s eyes as a shaky, bony hand gently clasped around Maka’s. “That’s right,” they said, smiling as they looked up at Maka. Maka-their first friend, their best friend, the person they loved.

Maka smiled at them, and gently wiped away the tears from their cheeks. “We can learn how to deal with the world together, as we promised to then,” she said with a smile, referring to that same day all those years ago, when Crona and Maka has just been teenagers. Crona sobbed and nodded. “Y-yes we-we’ll do it together-we’ll-“ they paused, wiping tears from their face with a shaky hand. “-we’ll learn to deal with things together.”

Maka gently wiped the tears from Crona’s cheeks as they sobbed softly, as they cried from sheer happiness. Happiness that they got a second chance. A second chance at life. A second chance with Maka. But most importantly, a second chance to learn to deal with life-but they weren’t alone. They’d been freed from that Black Paper Moon, they’d killed the Kishin because of Maka. Because of her they’d be able to deal with life. With existing. With their painful past. They would not only be okay, but they’d also be happy.

I love you Maka. I love you more than anything. I’m so glad I got to be with you. I’m so happy that we can do this together.

deputyheadmistress Alright, someone talking to you on my behalf about a lack of privacy got to me a bit. But I'm not upset with you for how the internet behaves.

flippinoptimist thats lurky, theyre a little closer to omniscient than is average for most beings, and like kind of giving advice, and they mean well i think they meant it mostly to make me stop chargin around in like, manic mode, though, even if stuff relatin to you was the causal start of the chain sorry you got dragged into it miss granger, and that i wasn't doin the tact thing

deputyheadmistress I didn't mean them, I meant the thread about different faux book titles. But a close to omniscient being is, I suppose, something I'll also have to get used to. I'm at least a bit used to manic teens, though it's not the best way to get shocking information.

flippinoptimist i think my earth age would technically start with a two, but thats sorta recent after you spend enough time around here you get used to the like, multiverse

deputyheadmistress Can we, perhaps, stop talking about the multiverse for a few moments? And talk about something a bit more grounding, like your particular brand of magic. I'm very curious.

flippinoptimist sure its sorta a fusion of everything ive run across, since the inherent stuff that my ~destiny~ tried to put on me isnt the same kind of stuff as the place where im learnin the inherent is more of a "woo, heres a big abstract concept, you are an incarnation / channeler of a shard of it, neato"

deputyheadmistress That sounds like a lot to dig into, but alright.

flippinoptimist the school part is about how you can structure thought and energy flow into symbols and runes and things i'm focusin on artificing ..and the inherent part has given me a knack for illusions i cant figure out how to actually cast spells but im good at making things!

deputyheadmistress Oh! I was very good at ancient runes during my time at Hogwarts, and while I haven't managed to do much with it since graduation, other than an enchanted bag, I'd be really curious to see what similarities there might be. I wonder if you can cast spells. Logic seems like it'd point to yes, but if you're from somewhere else...

flippinoptimist id be curious about them! i know the words to a few spells but ive never seen them and do naut have a wand of the kind you are thinking of the wands i know about / make each have a specific spell in them, and are locked to create a specific effect that triggers when a gesture or word or w/e happens

deputyheadmistress Of course there's a limit. But it can hold a tent or two, several thin blankets, changes of clothing, general everyday use things, and of course money. Thin things work better, obviously. You could probably fit thick blankets, but it'd be way more annoying both to put them in and pull them out.

Ok its a problem yes def, but, i disagree about tactics. Establishing a universal protocol of decorum puts the left on the defensive outside the circle of goodfaith; suddenly the right does what they say we do, they weaponize claims of suicidality to silence unwanted opposition as "so stressful its oppressive to the point of potential negligent homicide". I think it might be better to fortify and plunge into their zone. Surely we can use their protocol to our benefit better than they can. Given marginal observation time most peoples insecurities express themselves, so, see what comes up and bop it. I suspect in most cases in the above population, major insecurities would include being exposed as whatever they are that they feel is socially undesirable.....never attaining normative respectability.....not being acknowledged for whatever they want acknowledging for outside this forum. Maybe also being irrelevant, being naive, being unable to read scientific papers and make sense of them/being unmotivated in acquiring knowledge that might haunt them with confusion (which means they cant bootstrap like they say people should, even to win arguments they say they believe their position in but cant provide analysis or citations in support of. And this is because their brain is trying to avoid traumatic realization), relying on regurgitated talking head babble from neocon philosopherkings as spiritual gesture...hiding in a convent....the possibilities go on

But, thats pretty cynical advice so, i guess its already the salt you take it with; theres cosmic reciprocity to keep in mind, of course.

spending time with widow and sombra has made gabriel hate overwatch more and more with each passing day. widow is a sharp, bright reminder of overwatchs incompetency-- what happened to her should have never happened. she should have been under better protection, they should have kept her longer, she just. shouldn’t have happened. same with sombra; she might not directly tell him her past, but he can track her hackings and the messages she leaves to pick up the clues of her upbringing. to him, in every sense of the phrase, overwatch was nothing but a failure and he regrets ever having been a part of it vehemently. he means it when he calls overwatch a “sad story”

widowmaker is less of a “shell” of a woman and more like someone took out all of the stuffing in a doll and replaced it with rocks. she feels malice, anger, annoyance, confusion, hatred, self destruction. she’s capable of other emotions, but they’re buried far underneath, and they usually bring on the confusion. being a weapon is easy; being alive is not.

out of the three of them, sombra is the only one with 100% autonomy and the only one who’s where she is because she chose to be there; unlike reaper or widow, she CHOSE her augmentations. she chose to become sombra and not seek a normal life, she chose to have her abilities. she’s aware of the difference between her and her teammates and it solidifies her choices, for her.

sombra is terrified of not being free. of existing like widowmaker or with the physical or emotional load that gabriel carries. losing her autonomy, being weak, vulnerable, its what scares her the most, because she threw all of that away when she became sombra. sombra is a god; sombra is a god code in a human being, sombra is a shadow and a legend and a ghost. she’s untouchable and she’ll do anything to stay that way. always one step ahead.

widowsombra hc: sombras limbs are actually made of code and can take on a human appearance and match her skin tone, but they arent like... actual flesh and bone. widowmaker has decreased temperature sensitivity and can hardly feel sombras hands when she touches her.

fun fact this is also a metaphor for the intimacy and vulnerability that sombra threw away for her augmentations-- shes trading her humanity for her enhancements.

sombra has been to widowmakers grave as well as gabriels grave. neither of them know this. the people who cared about her back home still know shes alive, so she’s never needed one, but she kind of wants one anyways.

gabriel and sombra cant stop widow from doing whatever she wants to do. like, if its mission related thats kinda different, but otherwise, neither of them really have the resolution to take widowmakers choices from her if she actually mutters up the autonomy to do it.

this has, in sombras case, included enabling widowmaker to kill someone she recognized from her past. they were out on a mission; widow aimed for someone who wasnt the target. sombra didnt say anything and she certainly didnt ask.

widowmaker gnaws on ice sometimes, just to feel it. like she says that she can’t feel the cold but she can feel that and its like... a little shock. its like eating pop rocks lmao

widow struggles if she doesn’t have a purpose. if she ever went awol, she’d need to have something to do; she can’t just exist idly. she becomes restless and frustrated. talon knows this as well, and they send her out on missions ofc for their own gain but also because she begins to break down if she goes too long without believing she has a purpose.

widow is of the express belief that you need a purpose to exist. she’s eerily insistent about it.

sombra has a very small room at a talon hq that she sometimes hangs out in, has some tech in there, for when she has to be at a base for longer than a day. she always locks the door and she can get REALLY into her hacking and more than once gabe has smoked under the door because she wasn’t responding and he was worried.

either she’s just caught up in her work or she has ridiculously loud headphones on or she’s sleeping. she only sleeps like 3 hrs a day average so when she does sleep shes fucking dead to the world.

another thing. gabe is a worrier. a worrier and a planner. he has a plan a-z at any given moment for absolutely anything they do. he stresses himself out with that sorta stuff but literally whos gonna stop him?

sombra. sombra calls him out regularly. he hates her being spontaneous because, you guessed it, it worries him but its also really useful that she’s such a quick thinker.

sombra reminds him too much of jesse. sombra knows this.

gabe literally cant sleep ?? like he’s physically incapable of it so for rest sometimes he just kinda. sits down and exists in pain. he’s always in pain. widowmaker suggests him teas that will help him clear his head and he tries everything she tells him.

widow and gabe are the most civil towards each other and generally if widow has a question or feels like she needs “””advice””” she asks him. unofficially, she feels as if he would be her best friend, if she could theoretically have one.

sombra goes to get her nails done professionally, widow and gabe do theirs on their own and every once in awhile with each other. widow is very dedicated to her femininity

she recognizes him, somewhat. anyone she meets from her past, she tears into, but gabe is always the exception. she doesn’t tell him that she remembers him.

sombra and widow are both SUPER arrogant and they like wildly enable each other. widow likes to pretend that she doesnt but she definitely eggs sombra on at times and sombra LIVES for it. sombra also likes to try and goad emotions out of widow-- she likes to poke and prod and see whats underneath.

gabe thinks that if sombra and widow both went awol and had a goal that they could both agree on, even he would be hard pressed to stop them. it’s because they’re both so malicious and determined, its almost scary.

when gabe gets upset, smoke starts to come out of his mouth and nose and its like... literally his body starting to unwind. he cant get a grip on his corporal self and he starts to lose shape. this has never happened around widow, but has happened around sombra once.

sombra would never abandon her goal for widow or gabe but she’s thought about it before and if they asked her, she would do everything she could to get them out of talon that doesn’t compromise her own mission. she’d take them with her when she leaves if she could.

list of most to least willing to murder: widow, sombra, gabe. widow is the one whos most willing to actually do it but 9/10 its gonna be sombras idea first and foremost. it goes the opposite way if its personal, gabe is most likely to pull out a shotgun on someone he used to know lmao

as for how they work as a squad, they actually do.. really well. widow will just follow orders with the occasional -_- face thrown in, but they rlly do have a good synergy and its why they 3 get sent on so many missions together

widow and sombra are the best momentum wise-- once they get rolling its hard to make them stop and gabe has once or twice had an issue with keeping up with them. theyre both super fast paced and gabe is too but gotdam if he isnt getting older

widowmaker doesn’t ever really feel happy, just like... smug. she gets extremely smug. so its usually at the cost of someone else’s misery.

sombra has never met jack but just from hearing gabe make passing comments about him a few times she’s pretty much decided that she wants to either blackmail or murder him

gabe sometimes has the unfortunate habit of underestimating sombra, which is mostly out of concern, but its the quickest way to piss her off and pretty much the only way she gets put off with him. she cant stand being pitied or looked down upon.

widow saw gabriels face because he, at a time, decided to willingly show her. sombra saw gabriels face because she offered seeing it as the trade for some information he needed.

sombra sees the truth as a weapon and will trade personal information for something you want. sometimes its harmless, sometimes it bites you in the ass again later. hard.

gabe doesnt know how to be happy. sombra doesnt know how to be satisfied. widow is really just doin how she do.
