The height of the Oddo proposal at the south end is 157 feet.
The height of the Hollywood sign is 44 feet.
Oddo = more than 3 Hollywood signs!
Oddo Developments is now apparently saying it doesn’t need to re-zone the Cedar Creek Parkway site. So - if it doesn’t get it - it’ll just build shops with apartments on top of them … and we won’t like that because it will be much worse. Therefore, you are supposed to conclude, “you’d better support the re-zoning…!”
A bit of a messy, self-serving argument don’t you think?
Well here are some facts:
➡️ What Oddo WANTS is an apartment block - just like Oddo put into Leawood, just got approved in Lenexa AND also wants at the other end of Cedar Creek…!
➡️ And townhomes to sell - so Oddo investors make back their capital.
BUT - Without re-zoning Oddo can’t build any residential at Cedar Creek Parkway - UNLESS it’s on top of retail or offices. And -
➡️ That retail/commercial can only be ONE story high. And -
➡️ On a site that size, the residential can only be TWO stories high.
But remember - Oddo isn’t a ‘shopping center’ developer. (Who is these days…?) So -
🤔 who’s going to fill those shops or offices with apartments on top? (Especially when there are acres of underused or empty shopping sites - much closer to population areas than Cedar Creek is!)
🤔 who wants to live in an apartment above empty retail…?
AND do we really think the banks haven’t already asked those questions…!!
Also - without re-zoning Oddo CAN NOT build any townhomes - the only thing Oddo makes instant money back on …!
Oddo developments is an apartment block and townhome development company…!
So the difference is between the two ODDO ‘options’ is - either a 157 foot high block of profits for Oddo (at the expense of all Cedar Creek) or a fictional 3 stories (36 feet) of empty shops and empty apartments - that will never be financed and never get built…!
DON’T FALL FOR THE ODDO SCARE STORIES …
DON’T WAIVER IN OUR OPPOSITION TO ODDO APARTMENTS

I literally have no idea how people live life where they don't have fictional/media hyperfixations to distract themselves from existing.
There are people who chose not to have their brain being fogged by blorbos, AU ideas, fav ships, video games experience etc etc
They just... work, watch popular films, do sports, meet friends and have a family, all that normal stuff. Maybe they like collecting plants, like specific jazz music or have many cats. That's it.
I envy those people but also scared of that life which I never had.

Bazz's captain office, that I finally sketched out and properly planned, after at least two years of rotating it in my brain.
Bazz doesn't have many personal belongings or hobbies besides *trying to make sure the Domain survives another day*, so the decor is pretty sparse. He dragged in a whole rack of spears and other never-to-be-used weaponry from the armory just to cover up the depressingly bare walls...
