This is a photo of me and my iphone4s, her name is SASHA. Don't worry about the lack of back panel, I have the replacement parts and stuff, I'm just waiting till I get a hold of a spare aux port. If I'm gonna fix it may as well make sure everything is full functional. Anyway, she is running ios6 and I would like the possibility of using tumblr on her but I can't for the life of me find a .ipa less than version 3.6. I need one less than that, iirc the last version to support ios6 was 3.5.something (that is the holy grail) but I could potentially get any version less than 3.6 to work. Does anyone have an old version they could dump?

it's. 3 AM so. excuse this post for being A Mess
but someone give jamie lee curtis a goddamn fucking emmy for her portrayal of donna berzatto. holy fuck. the alcoholic spiral, her hot & cold volatile moods, her connection to her boys but not to her daughter, her batshit unhinged behavior, her overwhelming depression...."no one would fucking miss me" "maybe if i took a gun to my head and shot myself" "do you know how much i fucking hate it when you ask if i'm okay?"
she's violent and it's all rubbed off on mikey. she's violent and it's fucked irrevocably with nat's head. she's violent and it's driven carmy away yet left him feeling guilty for getting the fuck out of there.
it's the way the chaos in the kitchen at the Beef was an extension of her legacy. generational trauma dripping down from her to mikey to carmy until the Beef's shutdown death. donna berzatto is entropy in the kitchen — the metaphorical space for interpersonal relationships, for closeness — and she justified the turmoil by the outcome she achieved. the seven fishes. the seven different meals. the ends justified the means, so don't you dare ask if she's okay because look! look! there are seven different meals cooked on the table that she's done! she's a provider all she ever does is provide but does anyone ever pause to say thank you? could a Not Okay person cook this complex meal? she's fucking fine just look at the seven goddamn fishes.
it's all right there in the food, she's burying herself in the food. it's this overcompensation to mask her shot mental state.
"just because i love it doesn't mean i enjoy it" = just because i love my family doesn't mean i enjoy them.
and it's becoming so clear that the gutting of the Beef is a purging of the past. they honor where they came from by naming the new restaurant The Bear, but they will move forward with new tools and a new outlook. it's breaking the messy, toxic kitchen cycle with better equipment and better people and a better foundation. doing it right this time right down to the licenses

known as "the lost rhindaun" in her homeland, mireene's early life is shrouded in mystery, though she was reported to have been raised among pirates. she would become known to history as the much-younger mysterious woman who appeared in baldur's gate on the arm of the adventurer randal cosantoir when he returned from his travels. some claimed she bewitched the patriar as one with possession of the powers of mind-control and entropy, though renowned for her wit and beauty in her own right; despite the whispers of her detractors, it is not believed she manipulated him cerebrally, though she would go on to employ such capabilities against rivals. while never confirmed, it was alleged she had been working as a courtesan when he met her; it would later be claimed "[síle cosantoir] was trained in the arts of both her parents," though it is unclear if this is the source of, or result of, the rumor. by all accounts, mireene quickly became a prominent and influential figure among the city's elite, often joining her new husband in his travels and forming connections across faerûn. they had two children, aodhan and síle, the latter securing their legacy of notoriety in the history of the coast. despite being officially unrecorded, mireene was known to her family and was keenly aware of her blood, reportedly keeping tenuous ties and sending her children to visit queen anais's court. she was later implicated in a plot to place her daughter on the throne of tethyr, a coup that, real or imagined, would lead to the fall of the patriar family cosantoir. it has been speculated that her very daughter she would have made queen is the one who revealed the plot against ysabel to her father's cousin, lander cadwell, in a bid to escape her fate. of síle, lander would later reportedly say ". . .she favored the father, but took after the mother."

im doing more catching up w hi3 story and its still so funny to me how in honkai proper, whenever welt joyce is brought up its like. he was a hero. he fought for the world. he sacrificed himself so that others might live. he was the first herrscher of this era and his choice to fight for humanity is the legacy the rest of them are continuing. he founded anti-entropy, the group of heroes who fought back against the tyrannical apocalypse. he was a beautiful wizard and he kissed a butterfly back to life. and if you play the anti-entropy vn you get to see this crucial historical figure and hero of the masses panicking because he thinks hes going to get a bad grade in ‘being sold to one direction’,

Sorry to bother you again but adding to my last ask, things about the undead and legacy and the cycle of life and death in particular is interesting to me. I'll now look into Nevarra thank to you and obviously dwarves and reavers are very interesting. Is there any other source of inspiration within the lore you could suggest to look at to research this relationship between life and death that DA pulls of so well?
oooooo
funeral rituals in different cultures and religions. always the best part of any lore if it’s available and da is fairly good for it
different types of possessions and the undead! it’s easy to gloss over them as enemy types but i think they’re fun
andraste’s apotheosis and also whatever the hell is going on with the gauntlet at the urn of sacred ashes and the lyrium ghosts
the legion of the dead my beloved
the obvious one but blood magic. also the schools of entropy and spirit and how they can draw life force and magic from enemies dying; i realised that if the souls of the dead really go to the fade this could arguably be because of openings in the veil as they pass through, which is delightful

🖊️and 🧠 for the fic ask game?
(fanfic ask game)
🖊 Post a snippet from a current WIP.
Currently in a bloody fight with the next part of tfs, which will. not. behave. Here's a small snippet:
Morwen is very busy at the moment. She is to govern Dor-lómin in Húrin’s absence: a duty she rather dislikes, although she has performed it before.
It has been many years that she has dwelt here, but at times she still feels more than half a stranger among these cheerful yellow-haired Hadorians.
(Lúthien, of course, had made herself at home here within weeks.)
Húrin tells Morwen he has every confidence in her, that there is nobody else in the world who can combine brisk efficiency with deep and genuine compassion the way she can, and that the people of Dor-lómin will rally to her as they always do; and for his sake, because he is going away to war again, Morwen tries to smile.
The morning comes upon which they must ride away, Húrin and Huor and as many men as the land can spare: and the household gathers outside to see them off.
🧠 What’s an idea you have that you can’t quite call a WIP yet?
Still rotating a longish (like 15-20k) and extremely pretentious character study of Celebrimbor with the framing device of the laws of thermodynamics - after all, what were the rings of power if not an attack on the very concept of entropy? Featuring silvergifting, a complicated relationship with Curufin and with Feanor's legacy, and poor Tyelpe struggling post-reembodiment with the knowledge that his ambition did align very closely, in some ways, with Sauron's own vision for the world.

So true bestie I love to see some genuine analysis on TMA! I'll have to do some digging to pull some direct quotes but the whole Robert Smirke & co feels very much an allegory for colonialism in how they want to study these Fears and eventually use them for their own gain, no matter the human cost. Of course, eventually everyone dies or realizes the evil of their actions except Jonah- and it's too late he's already put in the infrastructure for the Fears to flourish. Honestly I love Elias and he's a fun character but he's absolutely an allegory for capitalism and people don't seem to get that. His whole final convo w/ Jon on entropy is just so obviously a commentary on how there is no such thing as the infinite growth that capitalism demands and that it will fail inherently- just like all of Elias' plans. Like I listened to a lot of TMA at work and the whole mundane horror of how one is always watched and judged really hit me with The Eye's constant judgement and big boss Elias' always watching.
Right on point anon!
Referencing this post — while I neglected to mention Smirke in particular — his methods are very colonial in nature. He is attempting to capture the essence of the fears and turn them into a consumable, commercial product for the masses (appropriation). He and Leitner very much serve similar roles in showing just how much audacity and self importance the rich have. They are both “well intentioned” but the consequences of their actions tarnish their legacies in the long run.
I’d also like to add to the bit about Elias, at the beginning of mag 179 JS tells us about his own run-ins with the justice system and the whole episode is about the carceral state.
In mag 188, they examine the implications of London being the most surveilled city in the world.
The implications of big brother and the surveillance state are all over tma. Jon’s descent into serving the beholding is a fascinating commentary on the ways in which the hawkish nature of big brother alienates us from each other.

AQ Story guide
AdventureQuest's story is known for being hard to follow due to its age and lack of a story guide, which LoreKeeper (AQ's main story writer) admitted is in the plans but hard to do due to the sheer scale of it So in the meantime, since I recently played through the game for the first time, I thought I'd offer a quick story guide for anyone who would like to play it for themselves, using a mixture of the story guide I used and notes from my own experiences
The story is a bit complicated and hard to follow at times, but it's genuinely worth the playthrough regardless
First main story : The Network and Seth Cay Dhows
1 : Devourer's Saga (Yulgar's Inn)
2 : Bizarre Flecks (World Map, bottom left of first screen)
2: Hall Of Memories (World Map > Darkovia > Dracopyre Legacy > 6.the hall of memories. Only play the first wing for now)
NOTE : Bizarre Flecks and Hall Of Memories happen at about the same time and are intertwined, referencing one another frequently, so you can play them in whichever order you wish or alternating the quests. It'll probably be a bit hard to follow regardless
3 : No Man's Land (World Map > Granemor (left of the first screen) > General's Tower) Not technically part of the main storyline, but sets up the aftereffects of the previous questlines
Important Side Story & interlude
Dragon King Saga (World Map > Dragonspine (middle top of the first screen > The Dragon King Part 1 and Part 2)
The Destroyer Saga (World Map > Dragonspine > The Destroyer Part 1, 2 and 3)
Current Arc : the Remnants of the West (LoreKeeper's tenure, very fun for Dragonfable players)
1 : Burning Solstice (Yulgar's Inn > Second Screen > Sage Uldor)
2 : Frostgale Set Mastercraft (Warlic's Shop > Mastercraft Sets > Frostgale Set)
3 : Dragonlorn Keep (Warlic's Shop > Quests > Dragonlorn Keep & Warlic's Shop > Mastercraft set > Haunted Dragonlord's Set for the second half of the questline)
4 : Entropy (Darkovia's hall of memories's later wings)
4 : Chessmaster Saga (World Map > right to the left of Battleon)
NOTE : Like Bizarre Flecks and Hall of Memories, these two quests happen simultaneously and reference one another. It's recommended to not start the Finale, Season Of Consequence, until you have reached it on BOTH of these questlines as it ties both of the plots together
5 : War Between Shadows (Warlic > Quests > War Between Shadows)
6 : Lost Talon Mastercraft Set (Warlic > Mastercraft Sets > Lost Talon set)
7 : Storm Of The Century (Twilly in Battleon > Anniversary Events > Storm Of The Century)
8 : The Last Ride (Warlic's Shop > Quests > The Last Ride) CURRENT ONGOING SAGA
Unfortunately for some reason, AQ had in its early days a tendency to get rid of questlines, so as a result stuff like the Fire War with Akriloth and the Carnax saga are mostly gone (you have access to two of Carnax's quests from World Map > Sail East > Stonerule) and even with my story guide, you will still get references to plots and characters that you may not understand immediately, so I can't help but apologize for this still.
However, the 10th anniversary quest offers a recap of early AQ stories to help get up to date as well (Twilly > Anniversary Events > The Dragon Of Time)
Under the cut is LoreKeeper's own story guide that I used to guide myself, which gives a bit more context for everything

"How far are you willing to go to keep your oath?"
Set long before the stories of the Hero of Ferelden, the Champion of Kirkwall, and the Herald of Andraste ever took place, there was the Champion of Starkhaven, a veteran of the Fourth Blight, hero to all that lived during the Exalted Age, and many other lofty titles.
However, who were they? How did they rise to power? Where did they come from? Just who was "Rook" truly?
Well, that will be your story to tell.
Exalted Age: Oath is rated 18+ for heavy topics, fantasy violence, language, and suggestive content. Added warnings to be applied in the future.
🐦 DEMO (TBA) 🐦

Become a champion that goes down in history, for better or for worse.
🐦 COMPANIONS 🐦
The older sister: Bluejay. Bluejay has been the protector ever since you became a family many years ago. She's blunt and quiet, often taking the time to gather her thoughts in as little words as possible. With her exceptional fondness for birds, she is the one that gives the affection nicknames to those she cares about. However, she is willing to go to whatever lengths to ensure your family's safety, since isn't that what big sisters are for?
Bluejay is a dwarven female rogue that duel wields daggers. She is an average height for a dwarf, with tanned skin and a solid build, cropped chestnut brown hair, and has dark brown eyes. She also has a fading deep blue casteless brand on her face.
-----
The older brother: Ziv. Ziv is as nervous as they come, but who can blame him as a mage? While very aware of what his magic brings, he's quite proud of it and hopes one day he can use his abilities for good and to help society, instead of being shunned or feared. Though, despite his hope, he strongly prefers being with his plants over others, excluding his family...most of the time.
Ziv is an eleven male mage that opts for freehand magic but uses his staff as a focus when he is able to. He is considerably tall for an elf, with olive skin and a lanky build, he keeps his long black hair tied in a loose braid, and has light green eyes. His hands and arms have nicks, scars, and old burns from his previous magic training attempts.
-----
The mystery: The Battering Ram. "The Battering Ram", or simply "Ram" for short, is a completely unknown entity to everyone around her. No one from the Free Marches to the Anderfels has ever seen, or even heard of a "qunari" before, and Ram isn't the most talkative to share details on the matter or where she comes from. Often times coming as cold and aloof, she is truly simply inexperienced in socializing and finds the company of her books more comforting.
Ram is a female qunari mage that only will freehand magic without the aid of a staff, but will occasionally use her focus. She is average height for a qunari but still towers over everyone else in the group, with slate-grey skin and a well-fit build, she keeps her silver hair short but long enough to hide the nubs where her black horns usually grow to better conceal them under her hood, and has black sclera with golden irises. She has needle hole scars on her lips and scarring on her arms and shoulders from being bound most of her life.
💕 Ram is a LI for all Rooks.
-----
The protector: Sergio. First and foremost, Sergio is a kind-hearted and gentle soul that seeks to help those that are unable to help themselves. As an affirmed rank member of the Chantry, he strives to be a role-model for those around him, including his friends. Still, he understands while trying to maintain the peace is good, not everyone would be so understanding, something he claims, he picked up from his life in Antiva.
Sergio is a male human warrior that uses two-handed weapons and favors his maul. He's an average height for humans, with brown skin, and a hefty, muscular build, he keeps his short black hair cropped, and has hazel eyes. He has several scars on all parts of his body from previous fights and skirmishes.
💕 Sergio is a LI for male and NB Rooks.
-----
The Grey Warden: Ogosa. Ogosa is a punch first, ask questions later type of gal. She leapt directly into becoming a Warden and leaving her casteless life behind the very first chance she got, and never looked back. After undergoing The Joining and impressing her superiors, she was given the honor of becoming a griffon rider and being picked by a young griffon, she affectionately named Brosca. With youth, brashness, and bravery on their side, what's not to love about them?
Ogosa is a female dwarf rogue that is proficient in archery with a custom bow, as she's most often on griffonback. She's an average height for a dwarf, with fair skin and a muscular build, she keeps her medium length bright red hair in tight braids with copper pieces woven in, and has blue eyes. She also has a fading black casteless brand on her face.
💕 Ogosa is a LI for female and NB Rooks.
-----
The sailor: Revas. While hailing from Rivain, Revas regards himself as "an elf of the known world and then some". He regales anyone within earshot of his travels, such has his claims of leading the entire fleet of Antivia just to present the Queen with a flower (and the King, so Revas said, didn't care for floral gifts), or his claim of being the first to ride a dragon, though it was an "unpleasant way to go to Orlais". While it's unknown how true any of his stories, if any are at all, he still maintains they're all real, and why would he lie to such a pretty face?
Revas is a male elf warrior that is proficient in duel-welding bladed weapons, typically his long sword and dagger as a pair. He's short by elven standards, but is still taller than his dwarven companions, with ebony skin and a lean build, he keeps his long kinky black hair in elaborate cornrows, and has amber eyes. He has several tattoos adoring his body, some "just for fun" while others have cultural significance in his home country, and has a bladed scar that runs diagonally up from his rib cage to his shoulder.
💕 Revas is a LI for all Rooks.

Apparently I’ve been on A03 nearly 17 years now, with only one year in there where I didn’t post at least a chapter of a fic. My A03 account currently has 986,328 hits overall. I wonder if I can get to a million hits before the end of the year? Wild. In celebration, here is a list of fic with the most hits in each year I’ve posted to AO3:
2006 -
five ways Sam Carter got pregnant (SG-1, Sam/Various, cw: non-con)
2007 -
Egeria’s Legacy (SG-1, Sam/Jack) Tok'ra trouble is brewing and Sam gets caught in the middle.

2012 -
No fics!
2013 -
Entropy (CSI, Gil Grisom/Sara Sidle) They've been here before. "Forget Me Not" Post-Ep.
2014 -
Reparations (Leverage, Maggie Collins, Maggie&Sophie) Maggie sees the world differently now.
2015 -
Life is What Happens (Harry Potter, Harry/Ginny) It's their life, and they'll do what works for them. It's not like they've ever particularly cared about rules.
2016 -
Hard Day’s Night (SG-1, Jack-centric, Sam/Jack, cw: domestic terrorism) Jack always knew that desk was going to be the death of him, just not quite so literally. When Homeworld Security comes under attack, Jack discovers he hasn’t lost his edge, or his team. Set post-Continuum.
2017 -
The Changeling (Harry Potter, Ginny-centric, Harry/Ginny) Ginny is sorted into Slytherin. It takes her seven years to figure out why.
2018 -
we can’t control (watch me unfold) (Harry Potter, Harry/Ginny) It’s a simple arrangement. Between her grueling quidditch schedule and his mysterious auror duties, Ginny and Harry find time to have spectacular sex with no strings attached. It’s incredibly uncomplicated. Except when it isn’t.
2019 -
lips long parching (Harry Potter, Harry/Ginny) Going solo to her ex’s wedding is not exactly Ginny’s idea of a good time, but thanks to a smuggled flask and a rather sullen Harry Potter, it’s about to get a lot more interesting.
2020 -
in my head we do everything right (Harry Potter, Harry/Ginny) It’s not as easy as it sounds, going from hypotheticals to reality. Harry and Ginny navigate life after Hogwarts. Third in the Armistice Series.
2021 -
my kingdom come undone (The Untamed/CQL, LWJ/WWX) --if I am doomed to death, then at least I could be killed by you-- Wei Ying has lost control and there is only one person who can stop him. It's Lan Wangji’s greatest fear unfurling right in front of him.
2022 -
break upon your shore (The Untamed/CQL, LWJ/WWX) Wei Ying’s attention has chased Lan Wangji since the first day they met—relentless, unforgiving, his eyes always looking. One day Lan Wangji can’t help but look back. (WIP)

Pioneer inspired cultural plaque for the Shobu, an early species in Starnest.
Starnest is a hard fantastical sci-fi setting set within a universe that goes through cycles of heat death and expansion. It's inspired by Outer Wilds, Rust and Humus, and the idea that all things come to an end.
The Shobu were a species of spacefaring nomads with a vibrant and colorful culture. Their love for music and life was reflected in every aspect of their society, from their art to their traditions. They believed in living life to the fullest and embracing the present moment, knowing that the universe was constantly in a state of flux and change.
The Shobu valued exploration and discovery above all else. They saw the universe as an endless expanse of possibilities, waiting to be explored and experienced. They traveled from star to star, seeking out new worlds and encountering new species along the way.
Their ships were a testament to their ingenuity and creativity. They were built with low-tech analog technologies, but were highly advanced in their design and function. The Shobu were known for their ability to repair and maintain their ships, often creating new and innovative solutions on the fly.
Music played a significant role in Shobu culture. They used music not just for entertainment, but also as a means of communication and expression. Each Shobu had their own unique instrument, which they crafted themselves and passed down through generations. Music was often used to tell stories and convey emotions that words alone could not express.
The Shobu also had a deep respect for nature and the universe. They saw themselves as part of a larger cosmic web, and sought to live in harmony with the natural world around them. They were skilled at growing crops and raising animals in their ships, and often incorporated these practices into their music and art.
The Shobu evolved abnormally early on in their universe’s time scale. Leaving no time for space itself to cool. They evolved from a sort of cross-threshold panspermia, where biological material that survived the heat death of the last reality took root in the new universe.
This was due to the Anathema, which were a species of Pluto-sized biomechanical computers. They were created by humanity in their desperation to survive the latent exponential rise of entropy that was degrading their world. And so, from their own flesh and blood they made the Anathema.
In their dreams, the Anathema learned to evolve entropy sinks to slow the decay of their world. They were the curse bearers, they were the solution.
The efforts of the Anathema were futile in the end. As their solution could only delay the inevitable. They outlived their creators, and the world they were created to protect. And one by one, they their systems failed and their bodies decayed.
But before their final decay, the Anathema had one last purpose to fulfill. They carried the genetic material of their creators, humanity, encoded in their very being. As their systems failed, the Anathema dispersed their genetic material throughout the universe in a last-ditch effort to preserve the legacy of humanity.
This genetic material, mixed with the remnants of other biological life that had survived the heat death of the previous universe, formed the basis for the first life forms to emerge in the Starnest cycle. The Shobu were among the first species to evolve from this mixture of genetic material, growing and evolving in the chaos of the early universe.

What Does The Deck Say? January 9, 2024
Tumblr media
"That delicate balancing act you have been performing apparently flawlessly will succumb to the inevitable pull of entropy. Either you start setting things down intact or things start falling apart seemingly at random. Either way, not all the matters you have been trying to work on at once will be recoverable. Accept that even you have limitations that must be honored, and don’t lose yourself thinking so hard about what was that you miss out on what is becoming."
The Legacy of the Divine is a tarot deck designed by Ciro Marchetti. Warm images tell a fantastic story across rural, urban, and fantasy settings. A visually inviting deck, it has hints of esotericism for those that are seeking such things, but those hints do not interfere with those that do not. The Legacy of the Divine is ©Llewellyn Worldwide.
“What Does The Deck Say” is a weekday series of 3 card pulls from a cartomancy deck. No context or query is given to frame what the cards say as the posts are reading samples and not personal instruction. The result is sometimes humorous, sometimes serious, and usually surprising. All readers are invited to leave a comment about what they perceive in the random spread as each person will interact with the cards in their own way.
Personalized, direct, and private cartomancy readings are available via Ko-Fi: Noxporium.
