Hello! I'm a literate to novella-level roleplayer trying to get back into roleplaying. I'm multi-muse, multi-fandom, and have over several years of experience in writing and roleplaying.

RULES:

Literate only! I write anywhere from a few paragraphs to triple the discord limit depending on how much I'm given to work off of.

I only roleplay through discord -- tumblr doesn't always give me notifications and is not as intuitive for messages.

NSFW is okay, but I prefer we focus on plot mainly. I will NOT roleplay anything considered "proship", don't even ask. I am open to exploring darker themes outside of that though within the story.

I am mainly looking to play the muses listed below, but I am open to other characters or playing an oc. I also am open to most ships, including canon x canon and canon x oc!

Communicate with me, don't just ghost or flake on me. That being said, both of our lives come first. I understand not being able to reply at times! Just let me know.

That being said, I am in the EST timezone. I work and am in college, so there will definitely be times I am unable to reply, but I should be able to reply at least a few times within the day.

I ask you be able to come with ideas, I do not want to dictate the whole roleplay. I will gladly give many ideas of my own and always have plots up my sleeve, but I ask you give a little something. That being said, don't be scared to message me with ideas!

PLEASE be 18+. Regardless of content, I don't feel comfortable roleplaying with minors.

Alright, so it seems like my original submission might have gotten eaten, so I'll try again! If my original was not eaten, my apologies! Hi, my name is Riven! I'm transmasc nb (he/they), 30+. Minors, Terfs, racists, homophobes, and transphobes dni. I generally like my partners to be 21+. I've recently updated my blog to a multi-muse and I'm looking to add some new roleplay partners (not trying to replace anybody!).

My timezone is CST, but I currently work nights on the weekends. I'll have my phone during that time, and will be active even while I'm at work. I generally tend to reply quickly, but not always. Please keep in mind that I am not a machine and roleplaying is not my job. I tend to like to rp within fandom, but I am also more than okay with interacting with fandomless OCs! My current muses are Jack of Blades (Dan Stevens is the faceclaim for his alter ego Xiro) from Fable and Jareth the Goblin King from Labyrinth and I would love to find people willing to play any characters from either property, but I am fine with writing in any fandom I am familiar with (there are a lot... As for shipping, I'm not picky about pairings, and my only requirements are that there's some chemistry between our muses and that they both be of age. I don't do smut as a general rule.

I have over 19 years of writing experience and I tend write novella-length replies, particularly when writing here on tumblr. I do not expect length to be matched, but do appreciate effort. I do like to use icons when rping here on tumblr, but don't tend to use them on Discord.

I write a lot of violent and dark imagery that may be disturbing to some, so please keep that in mind when interacting (I am a huge fan of whump and hurt/comfort, for example!). I guess that counts as 🕊️?

World based loosely on Fable by Adrienne Young

Welcome to the Narrows! A world based mostly on its relationship with the ocean. There is no map to the narrow sea. No known voyages which give options for finding gems, but also the loss of ships and lives without the cutthroat nature. Some people who aren’t murdered or coerced can also be left on islands to dreg to survive and have the hope of one day making enough money to sell their soul to a crew for a few years. People barely survive by selling their wares or joining crews. The narrows are the scrappy poorer side of those scavenging the ocean as opposed to the unnamed sea. They are not monopolized by some of the darker figures cutthroat enough to live in luxury and hold people by strings unseen. With the narrows a wild west of trading, a council has been made to help regulate and box them in more. Except it is rare and difficult. Most must fly under the radar and fight with others. Gems are the most lucrative trades. There were once creatures known as gem sages. They were entirely human but could hear the humming of the gems without seeing them. They are rare. Sought after. And in utter danger should they have been found out. Except some of the mages have gone missing from the richer parts of the sea. Some joining crews in the narrows. Will they be found out as pirates? Will they lose the merchant's license? Will their boats survive? Can you find love and friendship in this cutthroat world?

Finally, we get the opportunity to put our Spy Cards worldbuilding in a work. Though there are many questions about such things as "regulation" "how these cards are printed" "who approves a single spy card", and so on, we are here to present a bold new take: this game is based like 60% on obscure roach memory-reading tech that got turned into a card game with absolutely No card-game-related intentions included in the original tech and most of the card vetting is just from the fact that there aren't too many card printers out there and most of them make cards that need to be translated from Roach.

Strictly speaking, as a card game, it is not a terribly good or well-balanced one. It's popular primarily because of a mix of the difficulty involved in getting the data for high-level cards, the fun of seeing the variety of monsters that can be brought to the table, and the incredible amounts of ham and drama that goes into specifically the professional scene.

Philosophy With Disco: The Importance of Death in a World with Immortality (And Subsequently Why Fable is an Idiot)

On Fable SMP, Fable is on the warpath in a grief-driven, mad attempt to usurp the primordials and end death forever. This is single-handedly the worst thing he could do for himself, the other gods, and the world as a whole, and it all comes down to how the finite nature of death is vital in a world with immortality. This is a long one, so get comfy.

Immortality is a curse. To us mortals, it seems like the most amazing thing ever, but when you actually stop and think about it, immortality is a miserable existence. There are no stakes. Unless you are killed, you will live forever. Anything you create will rot and fall apart, so you won’t be able to enjoy it forever. There’s only so many skills you can develop in an eternity. Boredom is inevitable. Eternity stretches on forever. There are no deadlines, no concrete timeline. Every day is the same, weeks pass without noticing, centuries drift by as easily as a leaf in the wind, because there’s nothing to hold on to. Nothing will last except for you, the immortal, a constant presence in an ever shifting landscape, a pointless permanence.

You see, in a world where there are beings who live forever, the introduction of beings who don’t live forever is crucial. An immortal needs someone else to focus on, something fleeting and temporary and interactable to take their focus off their own impending eternity, something to give life meaning. Mortals live for such a short time, a blink of an eye for an immortal, yet they live and love and laugh and cry and then they’re gone. Caring for mortals and assisting them is the most fulfilling thing an immortal can do.

The immortal won’t be able to enjoy art for eternity, but several generations of mortals will. The immortal doesn’t need food or water to sustain themself, but mortals rely on it. The powers of an immortal don’t seem like anything spectacular, but to mortals they’re an awe-inspiring, terrifying force worthy of respect.

To mortals, an immortal force brings help in trouble and feelings of safety, protection, and a reason to come together in communities. To immortals, mortal life brings meaning, urgency, and a tangible timeline to disrupt the mind-numbing monotony of eternity. They are mutually beneficial.

The most common trap that gods fall into is the trap of thinking of mortal beings as “lesser,” but that couldn’t be further from the truth. To immortals, mortal beings are the most important thing in existence. In fact, it's safe to say that immortals need mortals more than those mortals need them. Interestingly, Fable has the opposite problem. Fable absolutely adores the mortals he created with every fiber of his being. But that love blinded him, and he lost sight of the reason mortals are necessary to begin with. His love turned obsessive, similarly to Perix but infinitely more destructive, as his desperate drive to save the mortals he loves from their inevitable fates upends the system that kept the immortal world stable to begin with.

At least, that’s my thoughts, and I’d love to hear what others have to say about it. :)

Despite originally being a fan-character for the Fable universe (which I've created in early 2010s), I haven't really drawn much of Alphaess in her actual setting in a long while, thought it would be really fun to embrace that once again after so long - here she is, the red haired heroine of Knothole Glade along with 'Fluffy', everyone's favourite balverine/cursed brother.

Might end up revamping Alphaess yet again to fit back with the theme and reconvert her into a fandom OC, we'll see how things progress for her I suppose.

So i think ive realised, coming up with AUs for Fable is easier with a Fantasy setting, rather than Modernised aus...

Some things are easy to "translate" to a modern au, but other things like; Caspian in prison and being experimented on, the corruption, the Telchin doing human experimentation, certain characters murders etc

Like, how do you modernise that!?

And yes not *everything* has to translate over to a modernised version, but some things are just funky character moments that you gotta keep, in my opinion anyway
