FFXV AU Idea

In a more technological advanced Lucis, where Regis's generation grew up with 2010s-2020s level of technological advancement, Prince Regis is Dylan B. Hollis(? that's his last name right?), learning how to cook and bake via historical recipes and sharing his discoveries on MoogleTube and FFXV15's version of TikTok and Instagram.

I know the whole point is that they have magic, there's no need to advance so quickly, but just picture it:

Prinxe Regis shouting, "MOO JUICE!" as he pours a cup of milk into the mixing bowl.

"Vanilla :)." "Ccccinnnamon!"

"I woke up this morning, thinking it's gonna be a happy day, but no, apparently today's the day to commit a war crime!" In an absolutely disgusted voice as he pours mayonnaise into the cake batter.

"WHY ARE WE PUTTING GELATIN IN A MOULOSSE?!"

"No. Absolutely not." To the FFXV's version of the 1960s gelatin monstrosity. "Feed this to your enemies of you want to make it, but no."

Just need to get this off my chest

Okay I need to get this off my chest....considering FFXV and some scenes/events between Noctis & Lunafreya. I just want to share with you my view and take/feels about it, because I really need to. This game made me feel so emotional ;______; It won’t be a big rant or anything (ok it turned out to be a bit like that now lol), quite the random post actually (I am not really a ranter sooo).

And sorry if you encounter any typos, English isn’t my first language ;)

Obviously this will contain SPOILERS for FFXV, so you have been warned.

At the moment I am replaying FFXV for a second time, and man it just hit me so hard again. As we know the whole journey is a road trip or a (as I like to call it) ‘bridal shower trip’ of Noctis and his best friends. It starts with leaving Insomnia the crown city of the kingdom of Lucis, were Noctis says goodbye to his father king Regis. Noctis can’t wait to see his childhood sweetheart Lunafreya again, I could tell by that grin of his, not only was he going too see her again, he was going to marry her, after 12 years. And that is also a bit what this rant is about, the longing Noctis and Luna have for seeing each other again.

They’ve kept in touch with their so called ‘Lovers book’ (that’s how it is described in the game, you can look it up in your inventory) for over 12 years. Without seeing each other. Every time Umbra runs up to Noctis or Luna you can see that excitement in their eyes/facial expressions, and how they stare at the little note they each left behind for one another. 

For me personally I shared that longing together with Noctis, to finally get to Altisia and see Luna. Noctis probably had a ton of questions for her, how has she been these past 12 years? Will she be as he remembers her to be? How has life been for her under imperial govern? And allot more other questions of course. But it is not just Noctis feeling this, it is also me as a player who felt this.  

Even though her moments in the game are not long, every time she is there you could feel her love and devotion toward Noctis and her mission. But I kinda understand the reason of ‘her not being in so many scenes’ a bit more now. Now don’t get me wrong, of course I agree on the fact the the story felt kinda hmmm cut out, it was missing here and there some elements (specially in chapter 13 but we know they are working on it). But let me just point out here that for me this made the death of Lunafreya even more devastating. Some of you might say: “Wel I haven’t seen enough of her and didn’t get to know her at all, so I didn’t have any trouble with the fact that she died” and I could agree with you at some point on that. But for me it worked out quite differently then I expected. I felt just like Noctis, when he was sitting there in the train, that huge feeling of sorrow and disappointment. 

This whole trip I was excited on finally seeing/meeting her, and then that death/final farewell scene ;______________; I seriously bawled so much during that scene. And her last words:

“When the world falls down all around you, and hope is lost, when you find yourself alone, amid a lightless place, look to the distance. Know that I am there, and that I watch over you always”

Lunafreya fulfilled her task and duty, as she tells Noctis in their last moment together. Personally she would of course loved to be with Noctis, she could have made the choice to drop it all and just run off together with him. But she didn’t, from a young age on she made sacrifices, and this time was not different for her. This moment is also a big thing for Noctis to remember (obviously), because him would befall the same fate as hers, which meant out a act of love giving your life for the people you are sworn to protect (his duty as King and Luna’s duty as a Oracle to guide the King)

And this leads me to the ending scene of the game, which has destroyed me emotionally a bit xD. I really love the ending though, because it is bittersweet. I am just glad Noctis doesn’t live on without Luna but meets/rests with her in the crystal afterlife, were they watch over their friends. The contentment on their faces is enough for me, and really made me smile with tears rolling down my cheeks. Not to mention the transformation of the FFXV logo, were we see a resting Queen Lunafreya together with her resting King Noctis.

I know the director ‘Tabata’is all about tragedy, and wel he really succeeded in my opinion with that in this story, and I am loving it!

hello i fucking LOVE your promdyn art, can i ask what fic you read that inspired it? bc healthy promdyn is my absolute OTP and i am very curious :3

I AM SO PLEASED TO HEAR THAT YO!!!

Prompdyn means so damn much to me and Im just...Holy fuck, I cannot even begin on the fanfic that started all of this Soul food and joy galore for me ;_; The fanfic that inspired and sold me on this ship is called "The Temptation of Saint Anthony, but with This Guy" by the incredible HigharollaKockamamie!

Literally, literally my top favorite and the best prompdyn literature in my eyes, Im not kidding when I say this fic changed me. I've had an entire animated PMV/Animatic in the making for it because I loved it so much but there was so little demand for prompdyn in the fandom that I kinda just, enjoyed it by my lonesome ;_; Im so so happy to see there are more wholesome/healthy prompdyn shippers out there now wtf!!!! I CAN SHARE THE REST OF MY SILLY DOODLES WITH YALL AAHGHHH --- Please if you havent read that fic yet, give it a read, i PROMISE you its one of the bests out there. (Its R18+ though so just a headsup, too!)

So, anyone else recognise some of the background from that scene at the celebration when Luna speaks to Nyx? The fancy-pants fish tank, the party setting on the roof of a building with a glass dome, the painting of Etro– the old scene with Noct and Stella…? I think they’re trying to tell us something.
