As you sat in the Liyuen prison cell, you wondered. You deeply wondered if... if this was the same game you knew? You weren't the type of person to ponder about the existence if things, but this was different.
You are in a game, and you never bothered to question it? The question you should be asking yourself is: How did I get here? But instead, it's: Who am I supposed to be?
The answer to the latter is... you're supposed to be an Impostor, like every typical sagau impostor fic. You saw your blood, gold. But have you ever looked at a mirror? Look at yourself and deduce that you are not an inpostor? Who even are you? What are you?

Do you... even remember your life before? Are you the same person?
Questions flooded your brain but the answer could never seem to float, are you or are you not an Impostor? Was the question you settled for. If so, then why didn't people start... treating you better if they saw your golden blood? It was clear as day, but the answer never seemed to appear.

Though you cannot see your face, you settled for looking at your body instead. It was the same?
"H-hello?" You managed to mutter, your voice was the same but always seem to break, your hair? Same color. Your scars/defining marks? Still there.

You looked down at your palms.
A four tipped star and a triquetra symbol on your left, and a yellow flower on the right. You didn't know what it meant, neither did you know what it was doing there.
Something is amidst.

could it be mad love?
Happy New Year to everyone, but especially @triquetras-dumpster-fire for whom this fic was written as a gift as part of the Red White and Royal Blue New Year Fic Exchange: @rwrbnygiftexchange.
I was given three prompts, one of which was an Actors!AU, which I’ve always wanted to write!
I present: could it be mad love? (Actors!AU)
Complete: 3/3 chapters (well, two chapters and an epilogue).
Summary: Alex is a veteran actor of such critically "meh" romcoms as Red, White and Revolutionary Blue and Henry is a newcomer who won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his very first acting role. A role which he stole from Alex.
Rated M(nothing NSFW, per request but lots of language and mature themes). 13.8k words.
Snippet below the cut!
Alex arrives at the Variety photoshoot overly caffeinated, grumpy about the early call time, and feeling sick to the pit of his stomach. Sure, he can blame the acids from his beverage of choice burning a hole through the lining of his empty stomach. Or he can face the reality that the stomach churning and desire to puke into the nearest trash can is due to trepidation from knowing that he’s about to spend the whole day with Oscar-winning actor, Henry Fox.
Fox is the object of Alex’s unrelenting and not unwarranted hatred. While Fox is likely unaware of his status as Alex’s arch-nemesis, Fox’s innocence of the situation (and therefore his inability to do anything about it) doesn’t stop Alex from wondering if the grudge he has for the man is strong enough to accidentally on-purpose summon a demon to straight up strangle the British bastard.

Fic rec!
The other day I was rereading @ltleflrt ‘s additictive incubus-Cas story (which is actually the fic that got me watching SPN for real) and as usual when I finished it there was the big black hole of fic-addiction, demanding more.
Instead of being a responsible grown-up and tending to my endless to-do list, I embraced the chore-escape artist in me and browsed Ltleflrt’s SPN works, looking for another hit.
I thought I had read most of them, including the epic Hunter’s Caress, but then I stumbled upon Triquetra.
Holy shit. Magic, aura’s, twins, professor!Dean, and glorious smut. And a decent length too, to avoid the black hole for a while longer. What. A. Gem.

Hey friends! So I really want to start promoting more amazing Snupin fanfics and I thought this might be a good way to start. I'm going to go through my bookmarks and select one (or two, or three) Snupin fics I read for each month and bookmarked and recc it in this thread :D Sorry if I don't tag every author but if you know their tumblr PLEASE tag them!
*disclaimer* I didn't get an AO3 to bookmark until July so the first few months are just ones I had favorited in my browser until I got an AO3

🦔 January - Triquetra by Contrarian_Hedgehog 🦔
Summary on AO3: With the war fast approaching, Snape is forced to rely on Lupin and Black in order to secure his place in Voldemort's circle. Can they get past two decades of hostility? After a month of cohabiting, being around each other gets easier yet so much more difficult.
Notes: This is actually a Snackin fic! A poly relationship between Remus, Severus, and Sirius. It has such a fantastic 'I don't want to do this but I have to' into a full blown relationship and it comes with such spicy art and scenes. 16 chapters total.

⚔️ February - Lily's Boy by SomewheresSword ⚔️
Summary on AO3: Before his third year of Hogwarts has even begun, Harry faces three whole weeks of unsupervised time in Diagon Alley. In that time he takes a trip to Gringotts - and that changes everything.
Burdened with the knowledge that Dumbledore has been blocking his family magic, and manipulating far more than he ever thought possible, Harry doesn't know who he can trust; but he knows he can't keep going that way. There's a whole world of lore and politics and history to catch up on, and the more he learns, the more Harry realises his true place in the world, and how much is being kept hidden from him. All the while, Dumbledore's twinkling eyes are constantly watching, and Harry can't let on how much he knows.
With help from unexpected places, Harry starts on a journey to end the war, and reshape the wizarding world. With how much he looks like James Potter, people have forgotten one important thing about him - he is Lily Evans' son, and she was one hell of a witch.
Notes: Buckle up for a long, fantastic fic my friends! Lily's Boy is 109 chapters! This focuses a lot on Harry as I'm sure you could guess (Drarry specifically), but Snupin is a huge focal point in this fic and I would not call it background. It's brilliant worldbuilding earn it this February spot!

🧁 March - Have Your Cake and Eat It by Cunegonde 🧁
Summary on AO3: Lying in hospital after the Battle of Hogwarts, Remus Lupin has a lovely lucid dream that he's gone back to his school days at Hogwarts. Only the day passes, then another, and another, and soon he must face the terrifying possibility that it isn't a dream — that he has irreparably altered the events of the past.
Please be advised, this one contains Adult Themes. Just, not so much in the fun flirty way, more in the midlife existential crisis way.
Notes: Primarily following Remus around as he gets transported back in time to his school days?! And how he falls for our lovely Severus Snape while trying not to mess up reality. YOU WILL CRY. Bittersweet ending warning on this one but so worth the read. 33 chapters

🦡 April - For Once Seen by diandrastrikesback 🦡
Summary on AO3: “Get the shutters,” he said stiffly.
“Want to see you,” Lupin whispered into his hair.
Snape’s panic rose. He fumbled with his words as his heart beat up his throat. “No. Erm…oily hair…you know, bad skin,” he stammered quietly.
Notes: A short drabble and first ever time something of mine inspired anything. ToT <3 Set in the summer, Remus sneaks over to Sev's house to have some fun. Sev isn't confident in his appearance though.

🐍 May - The Heir to the House of Prince by A_LoveUnlaced and elphi13 🐍
Summary on AO3: Summer of 4th year and Harry's all alone, dealing with his grief and the sudden revelation that James Potter is not his father. Support comes in a strange form. The form of Theo Nott, son of a death Eater. A strange friend who says he'll help him find his true father, whoever this Lord Prince might be.
Notes: Back to the long fics; 87 chapters AND this is a part of a currently ongoing series. Sev is actually Harry's father and wow is that a shock to Harry! This fic features Snupin and a Theo/Harry pairing and does a brilliant job focusing on both. Extremely compelling read. Severitius.

🩺 June - Not Quite What the Doctor Ordered by Arionrhod and McKay 🩺
Summary on AO3: Severus Snape is a brilliant diagnostician, but it turns out that Remus Lupin is a very difficult case, in more ways than one.
Notes: I'm not usually one for super AU fics but this one takes the cake. Severus is charactarized fantastically and the story is so very good! This is completely non-magic and the relationship between these two is just chefs kiss! 4 chapters.

🥇 July - With Every Step I Rise and Fall by @miffmiff 🥇
Summary on AO3: After the war, Remus thinks that all hope is lost of ever reconnecting with Severus. He may be in for a surprise though.
Notes: So I have this secret extra ranking I call 'The Golden Shelf.' It's the best of the best, and while many of these fics in this list hold that rank, THIS is the fic that inspired me to make that ranking at all. The very first fic on my golden shelf! This takes a look at how Severus and Remus grapple with the past and embrace each other. Charactarization feels real and so spot on. 1 chapter.

🎁 August - The Great Hogwarts Christmas Gift Exchange Debacle of 1996 by Snegurochka 🎁
Summary on AO3: Ron wants Luna, but Luna wants Ginny, and Ginny wants Harry, and Harry wants Hermione, but Hermione wants Lupin, and Lupin wants… Snape? Oh, what tangled webs we weave, when Dumbledore sets up a little seasonal fun for a group of hormonal teenagers spending their Christmas at Grimmauld Place – with two angsty thirty-somethings who have quite enough of their own problems to be getting on with.
Notes: This was a very long 1 chapter fic that was such a delight to read! The summary doesn't do it justice and I'm not sure that my little notes can either, but please give this a shot! In August like me, or right now; perfect for the holidays! Hilarious misunderstandings and a wonderful ending await you.

Batten Down the Hatches by @diandrastrikesbackk is a heartbreaking, fantastic little fic that pays homage to many other Snupin fics. A look at the life of the Snupin fandom as seen by the duo themselves <3
Drifting Satellite by the_throwaway_account is a slight AU with an angsty Remus trying to cope with his lycanthropy with no supportive family or friends. Enter: Sev
🛶 September - I Lie In Your Charms by KALA @kalainthecanoe 🛶
Summary on AO3: When Severus Snape banked on being dead at the end of a war, it was as much of a shock as a burden to find out he was very much alive. He'd rather welcome oblivion and be known as a hero, than watch himself become a listless ghost of his former self. He never expected his Life After Death would contain much but living an isolated, quiet, life. Instead he somehow ended up returning to Hogwarts to teach, becoming involved in student affairs he'd rather stay far removed from, and most importantly, having copious amounts of sex with his old childhood enemy- Remus Lupin.
Recovery is a fickle and long road, and he certainly didn't expect his would involve accepting Remus as part of it.
Notes: KALA is an incredible writer in every fic they craft, but this is one of my favorites. As the summary suggests, spice fest! But this is no plotless hotness by any means. Who doesn't love using sex as a distraction from trauma? Wonderfully written 12 chapters.

🎂 October - October 1984 by @bluesundaycake 🎂
Summary on AO3: Severus knows something is wrong at Hogwarts, but he can't quite figure out what.
A story built from the daily prompts for Snapetober 2022. Accidentally snupin.
Notes: So I loved this one so much I had to draw art for it. Seriously I can't say enough good things about this fic! Snape has an adorable crow friend and has to figure out what the heck is going on at Hogwarts while also pining for Remus. Rumored by BlueSundayCake to be a part of a series! :o 32 chapters.

A Door Left Ajar by Hera_Invictus takes a great look at Sev and Rem's past when Remus comes to Hogwarts to teach during POA. I don't know if they invented the word sexpilogue but uh, yeah...
Fuel the Pyre of Your Enemies by DivinityInMotion took the 'paired for school project' hook and sunk me in a fantastic story with slow burn Snupin.
🐺 November - Artemisia Absinthium: The Wolf and the Moth by Gertrude_Crow @princeandcrow 🐺
Summary on AO3: When Severus Snape uncovered Peter Pettigrew as a traitor before Voldemort attacked the Potters, it changed the course of many lives - his own included.
Relationships are forged and broken, as those that survived the war now have to learn to live, find new paths, and build new futures. And though their leader is gone, not all of the Death Eaters are willing to accept defeat.
Notes: Part 2 of Gertrude_Crow's Artemisia Absinthium series; READ THEM ALL! This is an AU during the first wizarding war focusing on Snupin with intriguing other relationships. Drama, intrigue, and a few dark spots make this series an incredible read. Part 2 is my favorite, coming in at 30 chapters.

💰 December - The Inheritance by Shadowycat 💰
Summary on AO3: Things hadn’t gone well for Remus Lupin since the end of the war, so he didn’t think he could afford to pass up an unexpected inheritance from someone he’d never met. Of course it turned out there were a few strings attached, including having to share his surprise windfall with Severus Snape. Not that Snape was particularly happy about that...
Notes: It's a 'we have to live together and go on a treasure hunt and now we love each other' fic! Not going to lie, the writing reminds me of a modern day Jane Austin and the story line is so compelling. A little mystery and some great reading! 24 chapters.

Horoable Mention for another fic I read in December:
Ne'er-Blue-Well by @diandrastrikesbackck was written for a prompt I gave, but it took my usually serious, not a fan of comedy self and had me laughing out loud with a truely genius string of puns said by Severus Snape himself after a potion accident.

"The Just and the Wicked": A Sneak Peek

We meet again, dear student! Have you met Hermes again? Well, perhaps he's grown fond of you. I know I have. You are such a great listener, always asking brilliant questions and never interrupting. But enough about you.
You know why you're here, there's no need for me to ask such a rhetorical question. It is also the reason we keep on meeting again and again. Last time we spoke of dreams, wisdom and the strange gift of divinity their union provided. Today, I'd like to tell you a story that my mother used to tell me. In fact, I've heard it from her so many times during my childhood that I'd grow furious any time I heard the word 'karma'. It is only in my old age that I finally understand the importance of this tale. Tell me, when you think of justice, what comes to your mind?
"Dear sister!" the young man exclaimed. He was dressed in a white robe that could hardly be called 'decent'. "My heart swells at the sight of you! But I'm afraid I'm not here to ponder our relationship and the lovely memories we share."
"Then what is it, Decay? The longer you stay in Dreaming, the more its genius loci shall rot towards oblivion. Speak fast, brother."
Decay leaned in towards you. His eyes were bright and his smile wide, making it truly hard to believe that he was the one making flowers wilt and corpses dissolve. Yes, he was, in fact, akin to the Trojan horse. "I know the spear is in here, Wisdom. My presence will not make a cloud disappear underneath your sky." For a moment, he stared at you with a strangely triumphant expression that seemed like genuine happiness only superficially - there was mischief, viciousness in his eyes as though he was gloating at possessing knowledge you did not share with him. After he got his presumed satisfaction, Decay stepped away from you to resume his monologue. "I came to inform you about a strange occurrence that needs your insight. I visited Karma not too long ago but not out of my own will. One of the Palaces died."
"Palaces of Justice?" Morpheus repeated slowly. His eyebrows furrowed instantaneously and it was a quite understandable reaction to anyone who knew a thing or two about those strange creatures. "How can a Palace of Justice die?"
"Not by a mortal hand nor by the hand of the Endless," you answered in quiet thoughtfulness. "Is there anything more you've learned, Decay? Tell me, what barbarity preceded this act of treason?"
"Truthfully, I do not know any more than Karma does. Unlike Death," Decay paused to look meaningfully in Dream's direction, "I do not gossip with my subjects, therefore Lion himself did not tell me about his passing. But I did, however, come into possession of something that you might find attractive. It is also, I believe, the very trail at which your insight begins, dear sister."
From the scarce folds of his revealing robe, Decay took out a torn piece of material. It was silvery white, glistening in the diffused rays that lit up Morpheus's palace. There seemed to be something embroidered in a dark thread but the tear run in the middle of the design, making it impossible to tell with utmost certainty what it had once presented. Extrapolating from the remaining lines, one could assume that the silvery, silky material once had an open eye inside a triquetra embroidered on it. There was only one unholy fraction that proudly wore such a sigil:
"Brothers of the Final Truth," you whispered to yourself while still examining the torn material. Finding it on your path, however, posed as many questions as it did answers, dissipating the unpenetrated mists of ignorance. "Without a doubt, the ones that told Rodrick Burgess of Metatron's Cube."
I fear the day is growing shorter yet again, dear student, and the darkness in the absence of the sun is filled with terrors even I am yet to learn about. As much as it pains me to say so, I do not know when we'll see each other again. Telling you this story, I have come to realize that an entire century had gone by since the last time I saw my mother. With the break of dawn, I shall be off to Shangri-La. Should you grow weary of my absence, borrow one of my books. Who knows, maybe between their pages you'd find a story of your own?

anyways here's the Leyline Boy!!!
He, by default has his eyes closed
Eyes open ^^^^ tinted by the blue of irimisul trees and leylines and the triquetra symbol in he eyes
Time for expanding stuff!!!
Leyline!Diluc keeps his eyes closed because he's more prone to sensory overload that way, so he "sees" through the Leylines around him, if he wants to see more accurately like a person with sight does, then he uses the leyline flowers on his head to see through.
Keeping his eyes closed also helps him relay and get info from the leylines, also, through the leyline flowers on him he uses to see, he feels the elements instead of fully seeing them
HOWEVER! thru his eyes he can see the elements fully like everyone else! however it comes with the added detriment of feeling it at the same time and so getting sensory overload.
and lemme go with the elements in diluc's body thing again
as I said B4 he basically partially becomes the element itself, and to add another detriment to the double wielding elements thing-
he can't use any element combo at once(save for Anemo and geo as a duo) or else he'll trigger am elemental reaction and greatly harm himself
Unless it's a high stakes situation then he will use and combo two or more elements(amount of elements used also depends on the situation's severity)
Also! Lisa said something about the leylines somewhat fraying her skin or smth during the storm terror situation... and she's a very talented witch that knows some intricacies of the leylines
So maybe when she first meets Diluc she can immediately tell he's apart of the leylines? or be somewhat shocked bc a human basically being a walking irimisul tree? i do not Know- anyways!!!
also i think Leylines also have a thing with Alchemy! and what's apart of Alchemy? Khemia! Ohhh BOYYY, the Albeluc potential for this ... esp the angst... them bonding over knowing alchemy and then the angst of Albedo finding out Diluc fully knows his origins and can make another of his kind if he wanted... huhuhuhuuuu wish I could write proper angst tho :') I'm still tryna settle into writing fluff for now
There's also Mona and constellations and the huge possibility Celestia doesnt have control over the Leyline's
So going with the latter thing... Celestia finding out that a whole human is basically wholly a part of the leylines would be a pretty damning thing, especially bc they seem like they wish to erase events and things like Dragonspine/Sal vinangdr and Tsurumi Island(I'm bad at spelling things :'')
Also to say more details about Leyline!Diluc's clothing:
He basically has a royal robe thing over him and the thing he wears under is basically just pajamas. not really clothes but leyline blossoms and irimisul tree branches grow on him naturally, just that Leyline blossoms grow nearly everywhere on his skin and the Irimisul branches grow on two specific spots on his head.
and sun little details: He really likes gardening, y'know that Cecilia garden Diluc has in the manga? Basically take that but make it more diverse, like, there's flowers and plants from all over Tevyat growing there, not just Cecilias.
And because I would die for Diluc having a Rifthound as a pet, Leyline!Diluc has three of them! they're very nice and just like pet pets and would sleep on Diluc

You hit a weak point of mine with that albeluc remark. Because this feels like it would be such a good AU for that. With them both looking human but just... not. And just they live in totally unique and different circumstances and could just bond with that feeling of displacement. Like they are not where they are supposed to be. The feeling that no one will ever be able to understand them.
Also as for the rift hound. I always imagine the Abyss being like the realm that fills in the gaps between the other realms. something that tries to expand to fill every nook and cranny. So I see it as something that parallels the leylines. And Rifthounds being a sort of natural creature of the Abyss it sort of feels natural it would run alongside a leyline Diluc in a sort of natural balance of the world.
As for OC stuff sure. I'm happy to read it. Though I warn you my editor's brain tends to come out a little more when I'm given original content. It's a habit and sometimes people don't want feedback they just want to share! Which is totally fine! I just got self-criting habits that tend to expand.

2) If you had to give up your keyboard and write your stories exclusively by hand, could you do it? If you already write everything by hand, a) are you a wizard and b) pen or pencil?
I already DO write most of my fics by hand, so it would not make that much of a difference to me. No, I am not a wizard. I WISH I were though, that would be cool. I write using fountain pens because I am way too extra. Not really, but since learning how to write with them, I can't go back to writing with ballpoint. The flow with a fountain pen is SO MUCH BETTER.
25) What is a weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story?
Gonna give a few based on Youth Without Youth. Dev is aroace (or demi) (haven't decided how arospec I wanna make him). Niall is half Irish, half French and pansexual. He also wears a triquetra necklace that he uses as his magical instrument. Siobhan is a musical prodigy, and can play several instruments, but she can't sing to save her life. She's also obsessed with The Cranberries (and no, not because she's Irish, but because I'M obsessed with The Cranberries and wanted to give that part of myself to her). Padma was the one who made a move on Siobhan (everyone assumes it was the other way around). She's loved her since they were kids.
28) Who is the most delightful character you’ve ever written? Why?
I've been having WAY too much fun with the OCs from Youth Without Youth. Padma and Siobhan are my children, and I love them both dearly. As for canon characters, I love writing Agatha (which is funny because I WOULD HAVE NEVER EXPECTED THIS). She's just so snarky and gives no fucks. I have several REALLY cool scenes in YWY that involve her, and she's been a joy to write.
