(Vorausgeschickt sei: Endlich wieder meinen Lieblingsentwickler am Start. Bzw. dessen Nachbau: XT-3. Von ADOX/fotoimpex aus Bad Saarow. Wenn wir – ohne jede Ironie – die Ossies nicht hätten. So sieht ein sauber entwickeltes Negativ aus. )

Wieder mal eine Lichtzeichenanlage mit dem Wappen von Amsterdam. Freu ich mich immer. Wenn mir in jungen Jahren die Decke auf den Kopf gefallen ist, bin ich nach Amsterdam getrampt. Was ich da gemacht habe? Blödsinn und wieder heimfahren. Aber nix, wofür ich mich heute schämen müsste. Manchmal denke ich wirklich, ich bin ein Engelchen, auch wenn in meinem Kopf zeitweise ein kleiner Räuberhauptmann und Whiskeyschmuggler das Regiment übernimmt.

Trampen ist eine Erfahrung fürs Leben. Wichtigste Regel: Meide die Gegend um Osnabrück. Jeder Anhalter sollte eine Waffe* mit sich führen, eine Kugel langt, um sich notfalls selbst den Gnadenschuß verpassen zu können, wenn er im Umland von Osnabrück gestrandet ist.

Bißchen unzufrieden bin ich mit der grafischen Gestaltung meiner Ampel. Das sieht doch auch ein Bauhelfer, daß die Xe dicker sein müssten. Ich habe Beispiele von Amsterdam-Ampeln, bei denen sie das besser hingekriegt haben.

An was mich die Xe (sprich "Ickse") noch erinnern? An die neue Cancel-Culture. Wer ganz im Sinne der Führung behauptet, die existiere nicht, der lese mal den etwas längeren Artikel des Informatikers Hadmut Danisch. Danisch, ein Informatik-Überflieger, der bekannt wurde dadurch, daß er wegen der Erfindung eines abhörsicheren Telefons von der Uni Karlsruhe gemobbt wurde. (Danisch ist nicht der mit der Hausdurchsuchung wegen des Meep-Meep-Roadrunners.)

Ich kann nur eins sagen: Wer in den Zwanzigzwanzigern noch Grün oder Rot wählt, der wählt letztendlich die Straße in den Terror und zum Gulag. Hungertod inbegriffen. Es gibt in der Weltgeschichte keine Ausnahme von der Regel, daß Rot (zu dem ich Grün zähle) in Polizeistaat, Zersetzung, Psychoterror, Militarismus, Krieg, Massenmord, Lager endet.

Fotoimpex was able to secure a final batch of COLORTEC C-41 kits and some professional laboratory chemicals from the bankruptcy estate in order to at least remain able to deliver in the color kit area.

However, this does not indicate general re-availability.

Harman Chemie now comes in other bottles and packs. This means Harman has found a new production partner. As expected, it was at a significantly higher price. Tetenal's productivity is difficult to achieve. This was a team that had been well established for decades and had perfect production facilities for large quantities. The raw materials were pumped from tank farms in the basement and dosed using calibrated flow meters.

You can't do that anymore for photochemistry today. ADOX has put a new filling system into operation and has quadrupled

its liquid chemical productivity . Liquid chemistry should always be available from January. We have also strengthened our team. In powder chemistry, some work processes still need to be changed to meet the current rush. Since Kodak completely disappeared from the market, we have re-released the D-76 and HC-110 in addition to the X-Tol . All developers have identical development times and dilutions as the respective "original" and are based on the last "reasonable" price from Kodak (i.e. before the speculative prices of the last few weeks). D-76 is also equipped with Captura and dissolves in significantly colder water than the original. HC-110 comes as 110 Professional directly from Fotoimpex. It contains the American recipe which was most recently available in the USA under the Kodak brand. This means it is the “thinner” version with limited shelf life but otherwise identical behavior. Kodak has terminated the license agreement with the Chinese and found a new licensee. This is the manufacturer who has already worked for Sino Promise. Something like an "American Tetenal". This manufacturer has announced that it wants to return to the European market with these products.

Film Photography Diary : ADOX CMS 20 II PRO

ADOX CMS 20 II PRO is a unique monochrome film. You can choose ISO value from 12 to 20 depends on the light situation, but I basically choose 12 ISO for any situation. The reciprocity failure factors are not given specifically, but from 1/10 to 1/1000 the shutter speed stays same as it is. ADOX is saying that “At 1 second add + 1/2 Stop, At 1/1000 seconds add + 1/2 Stop.” However we don’t know what to do for the slower shutter speed than 1/10 till 1 second. So some ADOX user gave us this information from his experience;

1 sec give 1/3

2 sec give 1/3

4 sec give 2/3 or 1.5X

8 sec give 1 stop or 2X

15 sec give 1 1/3rd stop or 2.5X

32 sec give 1 2/3rd stop or 3X

64 sec give 2 stops or 4X

This is quite useful. Also what I am thinking is this film is negative, so I imagine this film is also forgiving. And my film cameras are very old. These cameras don’t have 1/3 of adjustments. So my adjustment of the reciprocity failure is undoubtedly intuitive.

Anyway, my first roll was quite lovely.

Measuring up the contact printing frame (for 30x40cm) from @fotoimpex to plan my UV printing unit. The frame is a sturdy and simple construction, with a bit larger footprint (especially in height) compared to Photographer’s Solution but totally affordable and sufficient. Shipping costs, tax and duty make the frames from the US too expensive. Minolta XD-7, MD-Rokkor 24mm 2.8, gelborange von B+H, APX400, Entwickler XT-3 von fotoimpex. Soll angeblich das gleiche sein wie XTOL von Kodak. Scan vom Negativ. Ich lebe technisch noch ganz in den Siebzigern.
