I really need to learn how to make my digital drawings look less of a mess and also use some different brushes so it looks less like a mountain of sketchy pixels but anyway
Donna is Fourteens comfort ❤️

sorry but there is something so funny about people saying ‘rtd will save us !! doctor who is back!’ only for rtd to completely double down and not be subtle on absolutely anything

this doctor who fanfic solving The Gay Fanfic Dilemma of same-pronoun vagueness by having the doctor go exclusively by they/them is the best way to go about it.

Evil Chancellor Narvin: Chairs!? You have chairs on your Gallifrey? Narvin: … yes? Evil Chancellor Narvin: Chairs leads to lasyness and insobordinence! On my world the slaves sat on spikes! Narvin: What about you? Evil Chancellor Narvin (becoming enraged): I sat on the slaves! Two spikes would have been an extravagance!

Releasing news of a River Song spin-off as an April Fools joke as soon as the clocks hit midnight is evil. 😭😭😭

I’m so glad I saw it was a joke first. I might have gotten my hopes up.

Roger Delgado practices diplomacy as the unnamed ambassador of an equally unspecified Central American Republic, in Man in a Suitcase: Burden of Proof (1.15, ITC, 1968)
#fave spotting#roger delgado#man in a suitcase#classic doctor who#the master#delgado!master#burden of proof#itc#1968#classic tv#a relatively small role for Roger; his character exists really only to show an official from the fictional South American country the#episode deals with who is not corrupt (unlike Wolfe Morris and his associates) or a foreign national (John Gregson's English ex pat who's#loyalties are inscrutable). he expresses some outrage at Larry Taylor being violent‚ he offers Nicola Pagett some fatherly advice#and then he exits the episode never to be seen again. it's a small role but a nice change of pace for Rog‚ as he gets to play kindly#diplomat as opposed to villain (or villainous diplomat). the episode itself is.. complex... in its attitudes. perhaps the episode of MiaS#which has aged the least well. it's hard to say‚ but the colonial attitudes are pretty obvious and there's some deeper problematic stuff#going on. most disturbingly‚ said fictional S American country apparently has some kind of ethnic caste system in place#(something obliquely referenced in dialogue is Wolfe belonging to a lower social group bc of his ethnic heritage) but it's the two most#villainous characters who belong to this (? again potentially fictional?) racial group‚ and who are subject to (?? fictional??) racial#slurs‚ something which is never really commented on or resolved by the supposed 'good' characters (it's worth noting none of this involves#McGill‚ who isn't in any of those scenes). it's a troubling bit of.. meta racism??? and definitely the inference is related to skin tone#(both Morris and Larry Taylor being notably darker than Pagett‚ who it is suggested belongs to the higher social class)#it's an uncomfortable aspect of a script which takes a genuinely good plot and then wrings it through some weird‚ pretty offensive places#ok i did a bit more digging and the country may be fictional but the slur is apparently real and has been historically used against latin#and filipino ppl so yikes i guess this episode is just generally fucked up. huh. that's a damn shame. stupid 60s tv always ruining stuff#with utterly pointless bigotry. sigh. consider this a tw i guess#apologies for prev tags‚ South American should read Central American; not certain whether the country is actually named in dialogue briefly#but Pixley provides no details alas

suffered through a rewatch of Power of Three and Dinosaurs on a Spaceship last night and I wanted to scream the entire time. I am nobody and have never run a 60-year-old television show. but. Chris Chibnall does not know how to write. he is bad at it. he is bad at it. who gave him control of the entirety of Doctor Who? why? he had Amy narrate the first and last scenes of Power of Three like she's in some kind of early-2000's romcom because he doesn't know how to write dialogue or how to show-not-tell. the last line of Power of Three sounds like a preteen who has no idea how to end her oneshot fanfic and I know this because I have been one and I would never have let 12-year-old me write a single episode of an actual show on tv. the Silurians are a crutch. the Doctor got sucked into a Wii game? Kate Lethbridge-Stewart has zero personality outside of the Brigadier. Brian is an empty, emotional-exposition robot. who let this man run the entire show for years, I want names and addresses-
#I don't CARE if rtd or moffat genuinely think he did a good job#they've been wrong before#I don't CARE that I am nobody#I have been a bad writer before#I am still in many ways a bad writer#I can SPOT a bad writer. his episodes REEK#and I can't imagine his work as the showrunner was suddenly magically better#go back and watch those drippy interviews with him as a young member of the official DW fanclub back in the day#it's PAINFUL#he is SO pompous and SO critical and CLEARLY thinks only he really knows the good Doctor Who or how to write it and what it's LACKING#and then he goes and tries to force it in every chance he gets to write for the real thing#but it's like he has no idea how to write for an individual character or how to be subtle or how to transition from emotion to action?#the dialogue alone is torture#Amy and the Doctor could literally be ANYONE in their conversations he writes#the only good part of Po3 is the “before they flare and fade” and truthfully I'd be surprised if that piece wasn't Moffat's because it's-#-too much sentimental poetry not to be. doesn't sound like chibnall at all#and hi - dinosaurs on a spaceship can be FUN if you were a good writer but you are not. you make everything bland#you're kix cereal sir. you are the plain oatmeal of doctor who writers#you're worse than that. you're the bran muffin of doctor who writing#how can anyone have fun with Doctor Who if they're unable to relate to or care about the CHARACTERS?#GARBAGE.#chibnall#chris chibnall#anti chibnall#doctor who#dw#bbc#the doctor#eleventh doctor#eleven

assuming that dracula is the one who drugged the sherry (and i do not remember if the rest of the book explains that because it’s been a bit since i’ve read it), then that is a fascinating little piece of character work for dracula, who thus far has had the prominent character trait of “really likes the cat and mouse game”, that at this point he’s gotten annoyed enough that he’s throwing subtlety out the window and throwing a full fucking wolf into it and taking proactive measures to ensure no one’s going to cause him any problems. even for mister “just my presence causes problems and i’m just here to take advantage of what i can”, there will come a point where he’s officially sick of and deciding that if he needs something done right, he’s gonna do it himself.
and it makes me really want an adaptation entirely from his perspective if only so we can figure out when he decided he was fed tf up and was going to start taking matters into his own hands

Ngl kinda fucking funny right now that British Media are actually falling for a Doctor Who fan account claiming that Millie Gibson has been fired from Doctor Who, with the fan account literally having no sources beyond 'trust me bro'.
