tired of trying to monetise furry commissions, i want to draw for pleasure more than work. hi everyone i'm still alive. hi new people i draw too. this took 20 minutes
apparently being a steadfast supporter & advocate of teens who write total trash (bc everyone has to start somewhere) has led me to accumulate a gaggle of jealous teenage fic authors who would like nothing more than to steal my identity.
The trees are coming into leaf
Like something almost being said;
The recent buds relax and spread,
Their greenness is a kind of grief.
Is it that they are born again
And we grow old? No, they die too,
Their yearly trick of looking new
Is written down in rings of grain.
Yet still the unresting castles thresh
In fullgrown thickness every May.
Last year is dead, they seem to say,
Begin afresh, afresh, afresh.
Please don't take this seriously , haha. Au fancomic where #the_collector has one good sibling who got sealed away and conveniently gets freed when Belos-zilla goes ham on the Boiling isles. And said sibling is a fullgrown archivist . Who is understandably not happy that their kid sibling who while maybe a brat, has gotten picked on by a jerk for four hundred odd years. #belos is about to have a not very nice time. Bwahaha.
Jambo is an archivist. They don't like many things and being the middle child , kinda gets sidelined and allowed to do their own bit a lot. But they do have a soft spot for their youngest sibling. Jambo was not happy when their jerky oldest four siblings ganged up on the kid and wanted to mess with their friends . There was a bit of an argument when Jambo tried to stop them from taking the friends away. Jambo got sealed away because four on one means they didn't have much of a chance. Jambo gets freed by a bully who is picking on said youngest . They decide to take out four hundred odd years of pent up rage on this schmuck before moving onto their no-good older siblings who are overdue for wedgies. Jambo isn't actually named 'Jambo' but their youngest likes calling them that . Pt 2 coming soon !!!!
Cannot tell if this is me being petty and lashing out at a perceived disrespect to my own mother or if there actually is some merit to this thought, but I wonder if there's a connection from "stay-at-home moms work too stop implying they have it easier than working moms" posts of eight years ago, to the incredibly anti-feminist and misogynistic increase of "work sucks so I'm gonna be a stay at home mom/wife/girlfriend" posts of now.
I am not disimissing housework. I'm not dismissing domestic labor, both paid and unpaid. I have no beef with the (much older) wages for housework movement.
What I've always hated about the initial sentiment is that moms who work outside of the house still, statistically, do more of the chores, the cooking, the cleaning, the planning, the childrearing, and the helping kids with homework and projects than fathers do. And that work still has to be done. And this isn't even touching on single mothers.
Like I'm not saying being a SAHM isn't work, I'm saying mothers who work for pay are still expected to do every single thing SAHM do, on top of their career, their commute, and additional grooming requirements to look "professional".
