#once in english class we watched A Study in Pink and had to take notes on the filmmaking details we noticed #I think about that specific day pretty often because I so suddenly discovered I had so much fun noticing all of this stuff #and there was a lot to notice #minute details where you can't be sure if they're there or if the curtains are just blue #like light and dark in a frame foreshadowing the morality of people in that position in the next frame and the like #stuff where you can't tell if it's intentional but even if it's not it's still doing something #and that so quickly and clearly nailed it for me what I myself like in visual storytelling in films and would love to do myself someday #and come to think of it that's exactly why Lucky Number Slevin is my favorite movie #(one of the reasons) #because it's on a whole different level #it's chock full of details that on the surface are just pretty #then below that they have a pretty solid function that's not too hard to make out #and then below that there's a fucking world of 'look what this is also doing' that makes my heart race when I spot a new one #there's load bearing convoluted wallpaper for fucks sake. And that's by far the most obvious #I still notice new stuff about this movie that leaves me sitting there like 'shit that's so smart' #not in a 'this is genius' way most of the time but a very solid #'yeah this was a good choice; #you could have easily done it differently but this way you sidestepped the hint of a vibe based problem three scenes down the line' #and I freaking LOVE that #anyway I just found out. same fucking director. #somehow... this keeps happening #yes I'm currently watching it again. fourth or fifth time this month I don't remember exactly

going on and making some basic changes to my dad's gaming computer (technically it's both of ours but he bought and built it SO) bc he doesn't rly care about that stuff. literally the wallpaper has been low res hotguy scar for months. I set it as a joke, not realizing he would Never change it LOL

dented my new water bottle but i bought 100 flower stickers and now it's pretty and you cant see the dent. simple pleasures will cure me

#i was sooo bummed #it was pristine and pink and then it got dented and scratched up when it fell off a cart onto a concrete floor at work #but now its prettier than before #normally i hesitate to put stickers on things for some reason its like too permanent idk im dumb but this gave me permission to go crazy #its not done but the dent is hidden well and there's a few other pretty ones #im waiting to do the rest thk bc i ordered a custom sticker with my name on it and haven't decided where it goes yet lol #also my little ikea greenhouse should be here today 😌 #the only bad thing is i have to relearn how to parallel park again later 🥲 #but other than that it should be a nice day off #im trying to make my apartment nice but i lost the peel and stick wallpaper i wanted to put on drawers and on the side of the fridge 😔 #but its still pretty nice i just dont want to fill the drawers until i find it so its not as functional as it could be lol #anyway its a beautiful morning i slept in with my kitty finally ❤️ #and there's a hint of fall color put my window from an old tree turning early <3

i rlly like that kane pixels is taking the backrooms in his own direction bc hes actually making it scary in the same way the vague concept of the backrooms is scary. no Organized Levels and entities that can teleport your bones out of your body by looking at you and communities and whatever

#i like both directions of the backrooms lore #like its cool to think abt these ppl developing their own lil functioning society after being noclipped into hell #but the kane pixels backrooms is just #the same vibes as the original photo of the backrooms #endless wandering #one entity that you May or May Not see #you’ll likely die of starvation or dehydration than anything else #the buzz of the fluorescent lights and the ugly yellow wallpaper #and only Sometimes does the scenery change and its Actually Unnerving
