SCI17 FD RAI Sport Commentary Translation
A=Arianna Secondini - F=Fabrizio Pedrazzini
************
A: But now...
F: Silence.
A: TV and SM ready for their FD. They present themselves with new costumes compared to ACI, they wanted a more modern choice. Here they are in this FD that they define powerful and sensual. Moulin Rouge.
A: I would say... no... words. The standing ovation, their looks, the applause of the coaches describe the wonderful performance of TV and SM, the 2010 Olympic champions, silver 2014 who came back after a pause because of course they still want the Olympic gold and I would say that with the programs that we saw here (F: Yes, well... *laughs*) the possibility is there, definitely is there.
F: Yes.. I would not exaggerate but I think you can send it (the gold medal) to them by mail because it seems clear enough.
A: Incredible program.. Fabrizio and I (F: *giggles*) were here and we were looking at each other with the goosebumps on our arms.
F: Among other things.. look it has already finished, it passed only a minute maybe, let's go forward and there is the standing ovation.. it's crazy. But then you also see the situation...
A: We are trying to understand (F: Yes indeed) what Scott is saying. They really had fun eh.
F: But then you also see the climate.. they have done a crazy performance, I would like to take off one by one my hair for the joy and exaltation and they go out (of the ice), laugh.. "how it went? Do you want a coffee?"
A: They are fantastic.
F: But this is what makes the hero, the champion, the top player. It’s like you sai... one must be. And they are.
A: It's beautiful. Sorry I stopped Pedrazzini because I wanted to make you live this moment. It's beautiful. They thank also the audience who continues to applaud them.
F: This is the element with which they start their program, a stationary lift with a change of position, entry and exit BUT the intensity, it's all an interpretation, it's all a magic, it's all a story.. they are characters. She, unfortunately or fortunately reminds me so much Nicole Kidman, this almost ethereal and icy beauty that she also has in Moulin Rouge. He is CRAZY. I remember one of the first times I had seen him in a flamenco or gipsy music. He is POWERFUL at the charismatic level, he is OUT OF HIS HEAD from the intensity and energy that he transmits to you. But you see, they are not perfect because they reach their perfection as I often repeat, being themselves. We have seen TESSA and SCOTT skating, THIS is their strength.
A: These new costumes are beautiful I would say, that they chose to represent their characters even better. Are you ready? Because their score is obviously fantastic but then I will tell you in detail. 117.18 for their FD with 58.48 for technical elements and 58.70 for components with an overall of 199.86. Do you want to know how many 10s were given? Let’s count them together.
F: Go.
A: (*she counts them one by one) 18 10s in the components, components that see the SS at 9.61, 9.57 the transitions, 9.89 the performance, 9.89 also for the choreography and 9.96 interpretation.
F: 04 to get to 10 guys...

JOHANN TROLLMANN, IL PUGILE SINTI CHE RIDICOLIZZÓ IL NAZISMO

If the yellow man’s God is of his race let him worship his God as he sees fit. We, as Negroes, have found a new ideal. Whilst our God has no color, yet it is human to see everything through one’s own spectacles, and since the white people have seen their God through white spectacles, we have only now started out (late though it be) to see our God through our own spectacles. The God of Isaac and the God of Jacob let Him exist for the race that believes in the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. We Negroes believe in the God of Ethiopia, the everlasting God — God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost, the One God of all ages. That is the God in whom we believe, but we shall worship Him through the spectacles of Ethiopia. Earnest Alfred Wallace Budge sometime scholar at Christ College Cambridge University and Keeper of Egyptian and Assyrian antiquities in the British Museum publishes his first edition of the Ethiopic "Book of the Glory of Kings/Kebra Negast". 1924 July 4 Julian to make transatlantic flight from New York to Liberia via Atlantic city, New Jersey and the West Indies. March 28 General Emilio De Bono is named commander in chief of Italian armed forces in East Africa and force invading from Eritrea. April Britain, France and Italy sign the Stresa. Potter professor at the Graduate Institute of International Studies at Geneva who were very well known for their knowledge and refinement in international law.’ ‘Italy on her part selected two Italians from among Italy’s government officials.’ Ethiopia’s clear conscience was aware of the rights due to her and We, therefore, submitted immediately our request to Italy to settle the matter on the basis of the text of the treaty, referring to the treaty concluded in 1928, by which Italy had undertaken that peace and friendship should forever persist between us and that, if a quarrel arose between us, this quarrel should have a peacful outcome on the authorative verdict of arbitrators. Buckler’s Hard, New Forest: ‘A calm backwater but in a good way’ – review
This riverside attraction, where maritime history can be explored at a gentle pace, offers a relaxed family day out
A former ship-building village on the River Beaulieu in the New Forest. Attractions include a maritime museum telling the story of warships built for Nelson’s navy and other moments in seafaring history, from the sinking of SS Persia by a German U-boat to Sir Francis Chichester’s circumnavigation of the globe in Gipsy Moth IV. Costumed volunteers are on hand to answer questions and enthuse children with, say, a game of coits or explain how families lived in the Shipwright’s Cottage. In summer hop on a boat for a cruise up the river (extra charge).

Magyarul / in Hungarian – Az Auschwitzi Múzeum és Emlékhelyen jártam
I was thinking about what to write about my visit in Auschwitz. I can start with repeating those who have already visited it: „You must come here once in your life”. Terrible that it is a museum on the spot where hundreds of thousands suffered, died and where humanity wasn’t present. It is useful to see what it was like in order to understand it and to prevent to happen such madness in the future. I went on a 4 day-long –roundtrip to Krakow-Wieliczka salt mine-Auschwitz-Zakopane in October 2017. On the 3rd day after visiting the Wawel in Krakow we went there in the afternoon, it took for 2 hours by bus. You can go there on your own by train, bus, car, or you can participate in an excursion organized from Krakow. As far as I saw individuals must also go with guides in groups, so you can’t just walk in and be on your own inside. About the terrible things happened here I don’t think I have to write, it is not a history lesson here, it is a photo blog with my comments and suggestions how to go somewhere, how to visit something, what to see, what to do—etc. The most important to know: it was the largest of concentration camps and extermination centers, built in 1940, scene of the most terrible massacre of mankind from 1942-1945, more than 1,3 millions were sent to the camp, of whom about 1,1 million died here by the nazis, Jews, gipsies, politically unwanted…, Polish, Hungarians, Germans, Czechs…etc etc etc… Liberated in 1945 by the Soviets, it is a museum since 1947 and an UNESCO World heritage sight since 1979. There are 3 parts: Auschwitz I, Auschwitz II – Birkenau and Auschwitz III – Monorowitz and many satellite camps, we visited the first 2.
Tumblr media
We had a Hungarian speaking guide (there are 300 guides in the Auschwitz – Birkenau Museum, only they can guide the visitors, in more than 20 languages). The museum is open every day but is closed for example on the 1st of November. In 2016 there were more than 2 million visitors, i saw the chart outside the museum, so many visitors per year so far the museum hadn’t had. Hopefully in the future it will continue and more and more will come. At Auschwitz I. After the entrance you go through the gate under the ’Arbeit macht frei’ (Work sets you free) sign.

Many of the inmates just run towards the electrified barb-wire fences to end their sufferings, because they couldn’t bear more.
There is a separate building for the Hungarians, for the terrible things this nation did, because the Hungarians were one of the most diligent if not THE most diligent ones in sending people to this place, more than 400.000.
There is a building in which you find tons of human hair cut off the women after they had been killed in the gas chambers, kilograms of glasses, photos of relatives of the deported, thousands of suitcases, shoes…etc.
In some of the rooms it wasn’t allowed to take pictures for example where the hair was because of piety. In one of the buildings was a corridor with photos of the deported on both sides of the walls, bald & in striped camp uniform. Photos, because before 1943 the SS didn’t use tattoos of numbers on the forearm, rather photos. Under the photos were information about their occupation, when they arrived, when they died. None of them in the photos survived, and most of them could survive here for 3-4 months. And yes, you have to look into the eyes of these people. But you can’t look long because you just have to go out to the fresh air.
In Auschwitz I. we went into a building, I didn’t know first what it was because the guide hadn’t said before and there was no sign outside. We went in, she didn’t say anything, she just pointed up to the ceiling, there were holes, where the cylinders of Zyklon B (hidrogen-cyanide) gas were thrown from. And that is when we understood where we were. In the gas chamber in Auschwitz I, which was used until the bigger one in Auschwitz II-Birkenau wasn’t built. You just shiver when you go out of this building… and you just don’t want to think and you don’t want to remember to the photos you had seen about Auschwitz in the history books. Here was the crematorium too, it is said that 340 corpses per day could have been cremated here.
We left Auschwitz I and went by bus to Auschwitz II – Birkenau which is an about 10 minutes ride by bus from the first one.

The entrance is the so called „Gate of Death”, where the deported arrived by train, they got off, women and children one side, men the other.

And this is where they were selected,
to right goes who can work, to left goes who can’t work (children, pregnant women, the old), those who were „can’t work” directly went to the gas chambers (70-75% of them did so). The others to the camp, where we could visit the barracks they lived in, the bathrooms they used…
No heating, no running water, but there were rats and lice and diseases decimated them. It was ice-cold, windy while we were walking there for 20 minutes and it was only October. In the Winter in ’42 and ’44 the temperature was minus 28-33C. A real Death camp…

I don’t know how I should finish this post, maybe like in the history books that it is a shame of mankind, that it never can happen again, that there was no humanity at all, that we can’t let crazy ideas, people lead the world/empires/countries/people… It is a sensitive topic even after more than 70 years but I think the more people know about it, the more they can understand it, maybe the more chance there is that such or something similar won’t happen again. Sometimes I can also write about not only jolly beautiful sights/things to do rather serious ones. It is a shocking experience but I think a must see!
Maybe seeing my photos some will want to visit this museum, maybe seeing my photos some will think about wanting to get to know more about this era, maybe seeing my photos I made you think for 5 seconds about how cruel life can be and how lucky you are being here reading right now on your iphone/smartphone/computer my post…
