Okay, I have to ask: how did Dean ever earn this reputation? Because it sure as hell wasn't from canon:

1x15 The Benders – Spews idle threats while sidelined by a 13-year-old girl. Sam frees himself and overpowers an armed bad guy.

2x10 Hunted – Gordon hunts Sam, Dean gets himself captured. Sam rescues Dean.

2x21-22 AHBL 1 & 2 – Jake kills Sam. Sam is the one who kills Jake.

3x03 Bad Day at Black Rock – Bella shoots Sam, Dean does nothing

3x07 Fresh Blood – Gordon hunts Sam again, Sam decapitates Gordon with razor wire

5x16 Dark Side of the Moon – Walt and Roy kill Sam. Dean throws away the Samulet and forgets about Walt and Roy

6x22 The Man Who Knew Too Much – Castiel breaks Sam’s Hell wall. Dean forgives him in 7x17.

10x2 Reichenbach – Cole tortures Sam, Dean later decides to become Cole’s bestie

11x11 Red Meat – Corbin attempts to kill Sam, Dean tries to kill himself. Sam kills Corbin.

12x01 Keep Calm and Carry On – Watts tortures Sam. Mary kills Watts.

12x02 Mamma Mia – Toni tortures Sam, Dean spends most of the episode in heartwarming getting-to-know-you sessions with Mary. Dean later allies with Toni.

Seriously, why would anyone be afraid of Dean? He's more likely to ally with someone who hurts Sam than he is to hunt them down.

Now let's look at Sam for comparison:

3x11 Mystery Spot – Spends 6 months hunting down the trickster and stakes him for killing Dean

Clearly Sam is the one you should be afraid of if you mess with his brother.

Moments in Kinks-related books that I can't stop thinking about, no matter if it's happy, horrible, or sad :

-Michael Aldred. It was really interesting to see Ray's perspective. It was funny to see how he mentioned the word "friendship" right after writing about how Michael listened to the walls at the Connaught Gardens house. And also, Dave's recollection of their breakup. (X-Ray and Kink).

-Staying on the Michael Aldred topic, the fact that he was already trying to hit on Dave the first time they met during Ready, Steady, Go!. And Dave jokingly(?) punching Pete because... I don't remember what Pete did (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).

-Mitch Mitchell almost joining The Kinks after the Cardiff incident (X-Ray, Kink and Americana I think?).

-["Where the fuck did the Greenlaw come from ?"] (X-Ray, I need to find the page again)

-Ray comparing Pete leaving the band to a divorce. (X-Ray)

-The whole David Watts bit aka. Ray attempts to sell his brother's hand to a man in exchange for a mansion after finding out the guy was gay with Mick's help. Also Mick was dancing around while in birth day clothing (X-Ray and Kink. I'm pretty sure Ray Davies: A Complicated Life also mentioned it).

-The mention of Nobby's picture with the guitar and shovel after he went back to his day job due to Pete coming back in 1966 (X-Ray).

-Mick Avory and his connections with the drag queen community (X-Ray).

-Mitch Mitchell hiding pigeons under his bed (Kink).

-Dave explaining Ray's behaviour with astrology (Kink).

-Everyone (the bros, Mick and Nobby) getting scolded by Grenville, and then Baptist entering the room drunk, in full Viking gear, and blowing a horn. Then Grenville resigned (Kink and Americana).

-Ken Jones' death (Americana and Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).

-Mick falling and hurting his back while in a clown costume (Kink and Americana).

-Mick, a model, and a DJ (X-Ray).

-Mick attracting all the drag queens even though he's "straight" (Ray's words, not mine) (X-Ray).

-The house Dave and Mick (and Michael Aldred !) lived in had to get exorcised after they all left (don't remember which one, X-Ray maybe ?— Actually I think it was Ray Davies: A Complicated Life. Not sure though).

-The "pineapple juice" bit (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).

-Baptist eating a restaurant bill, and then Pamela (one of the backing singers during Preservation era) trying to do the same but not being allowed to (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).

-The Kinks almost having a punch-up after a concert because Bob asked for a pizza and the brothers "went apeshit" (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).

-Jim getting to go to the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, even though he wasn't inducted (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).

-Chrissie Hynde being scared that her and Ray's house might be haunted, so Ray called Peggy who called Dave for assistance (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).

-Nobby thinking him leaving the Kinks was fated (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).

-1984 being a bad year for basically everyone (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).

-Gordon having to calm down Mick's murderous intents for half an hour after the latter had to be sent to the dressing room following a fight with Dave (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).

-Baptist dropping college right before his finals just so he could join The Kinks (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).

-Nobby sprinting, diving and swimming Baptist back to the shore after the keyboardist accidentally fell (Ray Davies: A Complicated Life).

Goth Listening Club Day #55: This Mortal Coil - It'll End In Tears

"Conceived by Ivo Watts-Russell, co-founder of (at the time) dreamy gothic label 4AD, This Mortal Coil was a collaboration of him and many other artists signed to 4AD (Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins, The Wolfgang Press), and even some not signed to 4AD but that he knew personally (such as Cindy Gordon). They covered songs Ivo was into and listening to at the time, in the classic ethereal 4AD sound. "It'll End In Tears" includes their most well-known and beautiful tracks. This Mortal Coil and 4AD have some of the most interesting goth music history there is."Another Day", sung by Elizabeth Fraser of Cocteau Twins, is my favorite track on this album :)"

#an awful lot of these are gonna be recs I came across through this specific channel #they also post older electronic music fairly frequently which is a very cool genre with a lot of intertextuality with this stuff #this composer has done a ton of both and I'll probably post more of his stuff down the line #one thing that does kind of piss me off him or maybe just that label is that they tend to put a lot of repeat songs on subsequent albums #so a lot of fukamachi albums from the 70s will also have at least a few of these songs #but the album cover on this one is very cool and seahorses is a killer track to open on so that's what I'm going with #Youtube

Notes:

1.) This list is subject to change, so if you see it off a reblog, please check the link to this post here. At some point this will probably stop updating, as we tend to forget to. Before we kick off the showdown there will be another post. Characters are under the cut, the list is currently unorganized, but might get organized later.

2.) If you see a character on here and you want to submit propaganda for them please feel free to, there is no submission limit or character per fandom limit. Here is the link to the submission form. Characters from the prior round of this showdown are fair game except Toph, Toothless and Hiccup. Additionally, most characters from @gay-disabled-characters-showdown are also fair game.

3.) The amount of submissions will not affect how likely a character is to get into the showdown. If you submitted a character and they are not here, we probably just haven’t gotten to verifying your character yet. If it’s been more than 3-4 days since you submitted the character you can shoot us an ask as to why they are not on the list, it might be an error on our part.

4.) When will submissions close? We have no fucking clue. At the earliest sometime October, as we are still working on setting up over @gay-disabled-characters-showdown which is still accepting submissions here. Additionally, as we need to write image descriptions it takes us a ridiculous amount of time to get set up.

5.) If you think a character doesn’t qualify you can send us an ask or leave a comment, and we can show you the explanation we have for the character as to how they count.

7.) If there is a character or media on here you think is problematic you can send us an ask and we will evaluate. That being said it’s not about being the best most perfect representation.
