Is Buck's playing football in high school canon or fanon?
Cause the Eddie tackle was personal, but also very VERY american football.
THE BOY WENT FOR IT.
(reminded me of Steve Mcgarrett from Hawaii Five-O when he didn't know how to play basketball, so just improvised and played foot-basketball with the inmates in prison).

So Taryn Manning played Scott’s character’s ex-wife/baby momma in One Day as a Lion.
I was like  👀 👀 👀
That’s almost one McGarrett away!
But of course my fanfic brain’s gonna do what a fanfic brain’s gonna do. So imagine if Joanie and Gracie were Danny and Mary’s twins.
It hadn’t been love but lust that brought their girls into the world. Co-parenting with both of their personalities at those ages back towards season one had to be a balancing act.
Somehow they’d have to end up in Hawaii just slightly before the Hesse situation(or if I can’ think of another reason idk) but it all ends up with Danny working John’s case like in canon, Steve comes back to the island and it’s all very canon-ish...until Steve realizes that Danny’s been staying at the McGarrett home longer than he has(minus the last couple of days. Danny heard Steve was making it for John’s funeral and they’ve never really met and  better or worse, he was getting to the bottom of his girl’s grandfather’s case, so he was staying in a motel for the time Steve said he’d be there) so more canon as Steve takes the task force, forces Danny to join, Steve’s tunnel vision is pretty bad because later he’ll be slightly embarrassed it took him too long to realize how much time Danny spent at his house “working on the case” but also helping with the girls.
This is season one Steve so he wasn’t going to question someone who probably knew how to deal with kids to help his sister with her girls. Mary wants Danny to stop wasting money on the motel and just move back in full time. If he’s her baby daddy and working with her brother? Why not?
Danny’s pretty sure Steve doesn’t know and she’s like, don’t be ridiculous, but sometimes people are blind to stuff when there’s a lot going on and not only did Steve just lose his dad, he’s still got a big fish to catch that’ll leave a stain on his career if he doesn’t, and all while adjusting to not being in the military any more. Mary ends up sitting Steve down and bluntly revealing Danny is the girl’s father.
It’s a weird clash of protective older brother/I’m now your boss but we’ve been becoming friends mental gymnastics Steve’s got to do but he does. But Danny’s a good guy, they get more leads and they work pretty well together, the bickering’s also fun. Living in close proximity to Danny, as in the room down the hall(I’m very confused about rooms in this house, but it’s with the assumption that there’s the master bedroom that belonged to john that will then belong to Steve. With Mary’s and Steve’s old childhood rooms available. I can assume after he sent his kids away, maybe he had them made into offices later? Or if the house already had an office. idk but I’m assuming it minimumly had three. Steve gets the master bed room, mary takes her old child hood room, the girls get Steve’s old room, and Danny still sleeps on the couch for the time being so a McGarrett invites him to bed.)
Is it Soap-opera-y for Steve to fall in love with his sister’s baby daddy? Yes...yes it is.
But Scott’s Character had a baby Steve look a like with Taryn’s character! And I’ve been watching more Spanish novelas so...to ponder at.
---
I mean it also inspired some CA:TWS ideas too because the actor who played Rumlow is in One Day as a Lion as someone Scott’s character knew, so Danny having a dangerous fake SHIELD/actually HYDRA ex-lover who comes to the island to cause trouble and it brings to light maybe some Captain Rogers/Danny history too, for some GREAT Jealous!Steve McGarrett who is also very possessive of Danny and had some boyhood dreams crushed because his old childhood hero SLEPT WITH HIS DANNO! And he’s gotta prove to be the better Steve so there’s also a competitive Steve story plot in there.
---
This year my goal is to wrap up my WIPs so I’m just gonna get these ideas out of my head somewhat/somehow  xD maybe i’ll come back to them next year

So, as voted by the people, here are sentences from my WIPs. Totals were one from the OT3 fic, one from the H50/Avengers, and a whopping 12 from Unstoppable. Could I be an asshole and do 112random sentences? Yes. Am I going to be an asshole? No. You get an actual chunk of the fic. Enjoy!
OT3 Time-Travel Craziness:
She glances over to Howard before replying, “I’m afraid you missed your mark by about 80 years, darling. I’m from 2025.”
Avengers/H50:
“At least I’m not proudly part of the city whose one of five boroughs is Staten Island,” Danny snaps back.
(I honestly don't know if I'll ever write this out but the few snippets I have make me cackle.)
And now, a small scene from Unstoppables. No big spoilers. Well, maybe. Mwahaha.
Stiles looks like he either wants to walk back out the front door or explode. With a sigh, he settles for rubbing a hand over his face. He gestures to Stark before glancing between her and Barnes.
“Why did you have to bring the annoying one? Is this the new glitter bomb?”
Natasha smirks as John snorts at his son’s whine, not even rebuking him.
“Hey! What did I say about talking in English?”
“Fuck off,” Stiles mutters.
“You can’t tell Iron Man to eff off!”
Stiles blinks as he takes in the newcomers. “Who the hell are you guys? And why are you sitting on my dad's couch?”

Ahhh! I don’t know if I knew you were also into H50 but I’ve been seeing your reblogs and I’m loving them! I’m up to season 5 and I absolutely adore the Steve/Danny dynamic. I cannot wait to see what comes next for them. No spoilers please but we’re you happy with how the series ended? I’m always worried about that when I get into new stuff.
yeah!! i haven't seen every episode, but i think i've seen the majority of them, and i know all of the plot lines. i've written steve and danny a few times (nothing on ao3, just drabbles posted here and prompt fills), but at some point i do kind of want to carve out a big ol' fic for them
that's awesome that you're in season five, i think the middle seasons really capture the team's dynamic the best :D
i personally wasn't happy with the ending, but that's just my opinion- i don't want it to sway you or anyone else!!

H50 spoilers
And I despise the way that last text from Danny and then Cath showing up made it seem like such a deliberate choice to pick her over Danny. That look back when he left Danny on the beach made it seem like he might choose to stay with Danny. That last text then that wistful look at the window made it seem like he might not leave Danny. That's why it was such a punch in the gut to set it up that way.
Once again, he walks away from a Danny who's so beat up that he can barely move. Who was the most important person in his life 5 minutes before. And on top of that tells Danny that he was only in Hawaii to solve his dad's mystery. Like he was just marking time with the Ohana until he could figure everything out. It's so against character. I NEVER expected McDanno. Not for a second. I also didn't expect them to make Steve seem so callous toward Danny and the rest of his time in Hawaii. He's never been cruel. He's never been so dismissive of his time in 50. They sacrificed his character just to get him with Cath. They all deserve better.

I’m gonna say one last thing in the tag and then shut up. Steve handing his badge and gun to Lincoln in the church was such a pivotal moment and could have been beautifully revisited at the end of the episode.
Steve is obviously very tired of this job; the peril of nearly losing his loved ones over the last ten years has exhausted him physically and mentally and he needs a break. That’s all fine and well, he wasn’t going to be able to be this ‘super seal’ forever, especially as he grows older.
But the event that really sealed the deal for him was nearly losing Danny. It’s not like either of them haven’t been in life or death situations before but the emotional ability to go through it again has all but left Steve. He hands over his badge and gun with such finality, he hardly looks back. He’s so tired of sacrificing for this job. His mission is done. He wants his partner safe. He wants his Danno healthy and he wants to leave this job behind.
We didn’t need some grand gesture of Steve whisking Danny off on some romantic excursion. We didn’t even need them to be canon, we just needed an ending that made sense. If Steve wants to travel around the world a bit to get away, sure fine, it seems very OOC of him to do it while his partner is healing but fine, whatever.
But I’m so tired of writers plopping female characters into a scene for heterosexualities sake. Lenkov said Catherine was always there and he had every intention of bringing her back as if she was somehow weaved throughout the entirety of the show. Where??? I’d like to know where he did that because I don’t think he made it very clear for viewers. Can someone like back up that point because maybe I missed it?
I didn’t really expect much from this finale, and overall it’s whatever, it’s a tv show. But I really did not expect Catherine to appear out of the blue just to be that heterosexual ribbon on top of the poorly wrapped gift.
I would have loved to see Steve pass on his responsibilities to Lincoln, take that vacation and come back to his Danno. Where they could grow old together on the beach, like they always panned.

Steve and Danny in love - 10.15
Do you remember the time as a teen or maybe even as a young adult when you fell for another person? When you had that thing going where you dropped hints and fished for little patches of words to get reassured that the other person is into you too? Do you remember how that felt? The situation where you were together and didn’t have the guts to just ask and go for broke to admit how much in love you were? You just hoped the other catches up on whatever secret hints you threw in their direction. You inched your way forward with words and hidden questions that weren’t really dectable in normal sentences...
so...
Do you know who does it, too? Steve and Danny - in absolute perfection.
It goes like this: Danny hauls himself up and onto the kitchen counter, to fake nonchalance and to keep it cool. He hums and haws and throws in the text from his contractor so casually as if it’s the most boring news ever. He tamps down the huge importance that this information carries. He bites his lips, pulls a face, purses his lips, hesitantly says how things go well at the house, stutters a bit while he checks up on Steve and how he takes the news. Steve always has his back turned to Danny, wedeling with the spatula, keeping himself busy to cook Danny’s egg the perfect way he loves them.
Anyway, Danny carries on telling how they fixed the floorboards and the running water while he always has his eyes on Steve! And you hear him biting his lips again with the soft question that’s half a fact half a question: “So, probably I can get out of your space...soon?” You hear him hold his breath! God, there’s a whole universe of emotions hidden in that one sentence!! And the lip-biting -  a clear sign how nervous Danny is.
But Steve doens’t turn around. I guess he tries not to pass out. He grunts affirmative comments, turning Danny’s eggs. Only to wiggle with his hands in the air to ask like a man who’s only capable to blurt two-word sentences. “Paint it yet? (They paint it yet?) Any paint?” (HE DOESN’T EVEN LOOK AT DANNY. HE GLARES AT THE CEILING!) And there’s Danny’s answer (I guess his heart is in is pants by now, beating like a dying mouse) no paint, nuh-huh. And it goes on with the sweet cave man talk. No paint? (some quick flash of an eye contact from Steve there). No paint. Furniture? Storage. Mm-hmm. (More fiddling with the eggs.) So, finally Steve turns around, a bit unnerved why Danny even brings this up. And with three sentences he tells him how silly it even is to think to go back living in a house full of workers. Bottom line - Steve tells him to stay forever. And most of the time as he says this he doens’t look at Danny because it’s ALL AT STAKE HERE!! And Danny doesn’t argue AT ALL!
So, Steve throws the most improtant sentence at Danny like he throws one of Eddie’s old chew-bone into the bushes. “You can stay as long as you want, you know that right?” And turns around so fast he hardly catches a glance where Danny sits. Because, dammit Steve, did you not just ask Danny to move in with you?? Of course, he did! Steve’s style. Jesus.
Danny agrees immediately and he says super politely that he appreciates it. Okay...holy shit! I mean neither of them wants their own space back. And every adult can refer to that and how important this is if you’re not living with your significant other.
And the best part of the conversation follows right after. It’s proof that they just said to each other, just using other words but the message is the same. “I’m in love with you and I want you to come living with me, staying forever and never leave again. Ever because if you didn’t get it I’m fucking in love with you, you super dork!”
Danny must be dizzy with relief because he’s got the confirmation, SEAL Steve style but nevertheless Steve’s just admitted that he loves him and that he wants to live together with Danny. So Danny dives head first into a teasing, accusing, bantering argument to rile Steve up, to throw him. To get him angry, to pull them both away from the intensity of their admitted feelings in a language that is crystal clear only to them but to no one esle.
And Steve takes the bite until they half-shout at each other with pointed fingers included and calling each other a maniac with no heat.
That’s poetic cinema guys and I’m so game for it.
This is my contribution of trying to analyze the complicated way of how Steve and Danny live their strong love for each other an how their declaration of love happens. Because they are, in love with each other, unable to be apart. McDanno is canon. You only need to read the signs in the right language. Holy shit!

Me: I think I will watch the end of Hawaii 5-0, but first let me check the McDanno tag...
Me: *sees there was queerbaiting*
Me: *sees that Steve’s character was ruined*
Me: *sees that they let Catherine call Danny Danno*
Me: Nope. I am good. I don’t need that shit in my life right now.
