Period dramas dresses tournament: Orange dresses Round 1- Group A: Bobbie Barrett, Mad men vs The dynamites, Hairspray
Propaganda for Bobbie's dress (written by a submitter):
I just think the dress fits her personality so well and I'm a Bobbie apologist AND I love the 60s/early 70s fashion😁

watched hairspray 2007 today! i expected a bigger difference in quality between the two as it usually is with remakes, but honestly, both movies are really fun
i loved christopher walken in it, but john travolta couldn't hold a candle to divine (naturally). it felt like the drag role was really restricting him & having watched to wong foo and tootsie recently, i developed a high standard for drag roles LMAO
michelle pffeifer absolutely killed it, i think her and zac efron made their roles much more memorable than the old version. tracy's character and actress were great in both movies, she's just a delight to witness all around. big elle woods energy on her
her final checkered outfit in the new movie was very cute and stylish, but i kinda missed the roach dress even tho its shape was kinda boring lmao i loved how she reclaimed the roach. i really missed her little green dress she wore during the hefty hideaway scene in the old movie though, i thought that was one of her best looks.
i did not like amanda bynes as penny at all though, she has such scary bewildered yet unemotive eyes 😭 her mom wasn't great in the new version either, i thought she was way funnier in the old movie.
all around, the new movie had much more energy and was thus more fun to watch, but there are also a few things the old one did better

Hairspray, 2007👗👛👑✨ 🍬🍭🎀💋🌸
CANCER
Hairspray is the sign of cancer, cancer rules, race, and this amazing musical is all about the race war and how black Scott treated unfairly back in the day, and how one girl in the film wants to make it all better by making sure that every day is Negro day. She tries to make things good for everyone and fall in love with the typical pretty boy. Tracy, who’s a bigger girl is made fun of her weight throughout the film, as is her agoraphobic mother to Tracy Turnbull has a lot of cardinal energy and a chart due to her being able to fight battles and be a leader and initiator in her area and fighting for what she believes in for people who don’t or can’t stand up for themselves due to racial injustice she becomes a pioneer and what she does. I believe she has Uranus in the first house, when you have urines in the first house you are in initiative in your area and she was able to become the head girl of the show and made it better for everyone. Besides, the mother and daughter duo who were evil and wanted the segregation they didn’t want anything to change. They were scared of the change .
that’s why it was cancer because cancer also does not like change . She has cancer herself her chart🏠 So I’m going to go for the fact that Tracy is a libra🌞, a Capricorn rising, and a cancermoon , a ♍️ Virgo mercury being able to charm the pants off everybody in the entertainment industry and they loved her for it , because this is the home of where mercury likes to be, and that’s why our head was so full of forts and how things had to be a certain way, and she knew she wasright , her libra son brings out her, not following what her mother says, and then going to the father and trying to weigh things up between the two of them, and getting Penny into trouble also . she’s an Aries Mars which makes it at her able to be able to do things quick and get them done in the way that she wants them to be done. I’m very clever and fast paced when she wants to be. Let’s talk about her dancing too which can come along with that, and the fact you say that she has massive hair on her head . hi Venus sign say libra is because she is a hopeless, romantic, her best friend, Penny, I see as being a a Aquarius or Pisces because she’s quite weird and zany but also a bit scared of her mother and her mother. I see as a Taurus because she has worked her business for many years from home and also surface from agoraphobia but it’s also suffers with her weight.

Hairspray (2007) AU
Harringrove | Without Love Life's Getting My Big Break And Laryngitis
Tumblr media
Lumax ft. Erica | The Blacker The Berry, The Sweeter The Juice
When two siblings move to Baltimore, Billy sees a chance to join his favourite guilty pleasure dance show. Max, his disgruntled tag along, gets mixed into his shenanigans when he’s rejected for the pudge covering his muscle and hair length, if not counting the few small tattoos on his body and his small quip on not giving a flying fuck who’s in his pool as long as they don’t drown themselves.
Despite the rejection, Billy’s not giving up and when he and Max get detention for skipping, the siblings find themselves getting friendly with the Sinclair siblings, Max reluctantly enamoured by Lucas’ charm and Billy digging Erica’s spunk.
Of course, Billy’s gone and dug himself a deeper hole when he finds himself dreaming up a love life with the star of the show, Steve Harrington.
If only he could get his attention.
Turns out it’s not hard considering he’s already got it, tearing down the rules of entertainment television with nothing but a pearly white smile and a refusal to hear ‘no’.

“You’re Timeless To Me” from Hairspray is so fucking cute. Like y’all have no idea how in love with it I am. There’s no reason for it to be that good. Christopher and John ate that up too.

Not sure if this is a hot take but I think Tracy and Seaweed should have got together.
They have a really strong first scene together and, lets be real, Link is an object of desire for Tracy that she “wins”.
And Penny and Seaweed are a meet cute without much of a reason WHY they like each other compared with Tracy and Seaweed’s shared interest of dancing.
