lets talk about richie and his outfits!
all throughout season one he can be seen completely decked out in the beef merch almost always. my fav example being the pic above! not only is he wearing the tshirt but he's sporting a jacket as well, and i think it's plain that this ties in both with his grief and with the way he's holding on so desperately to his identification with the restaurant. it's clear that the other cooks/employees of the beef were close to michael and cared about the restaurant, but i feel like richie's displacement in life and the restaurant's fate/meaning becoming so blurred is clearer in him more than anyone else.
it looks like he's constantly proving something by wearing so many things related to the beef. he's constantly having to remind himself that he has a place where he belongs still—that he has purpose here!! which is such a thing in the second season and i'll get to that soon.
but, for now, i want to also mention how this 'drab' and 'lazy' way of dressing is a representation of his self confidence as well. it isn't necessarily ill fitting, but his track pants and sneakers often tend to stand out when he's set in the crowd of the other relevant characters. take neil for example, his outfits aren't the 'cleanest' or even super well put together/formal but its obvious what his job is. richie, on the other hand, does not have that! throughout the first season we look at a man in his forties who is not only implied to not know his purpose mentally but also physically!
now moving on to season 2!
so the first episode begins and i think lots of us asked ourselves the same question: has richie developed at all? and for a second it really looks like he hasn't. the first thing i notice is his shirt, he's wearing another the beef brand tshirt, except what's even more notable about this specific one is that 'the beef' isn't even spelled correctly.
this detail and his conversation with carmy is so!!! richie so desperately wants purpose, and where else is he going to look for it but his safe space? he's trying to imprve himself but isn't sure where to look.
and then we witness him constantly trying to fit himself in places he just doesn't belong. he's becoming a hinderance, he's in the way, he's trying so hard to help, and he feels that he's going to be left behind. but there's gotta be purpose for him somewhere! there just has to! AND THERE IS!!!! lets get to the last episode of season 2!
"I wear suits now."
this line permanently altered my brain. like i want to scrunch him up into a ball and throw him against a wall and watch him bounce back. he's so much more confident in where he's meant to be and what he's supposed to be doing. and then his apology to natalie!! he's found his purpose finally and is aware enough of his past behaviour to be remorseful about it. and it's also just such a show of how he's always had a place there but just needed to learn how to fit in it, sort of like a mold!
like he didn't need to completely rebrand himself or anything, ie: "i'm good with people...just never really have the chance to be" (paraphrasing here but ya know). he's always had this in him, there was just some maturity and healing missing.
anyway before this gets too long, richie fits in these new suits so well and it points to so many of his developments. he's found his purpose and is confident in it, HE WEARS SUITS NOW. he knows what he is so he's sure of how to dress himself too. it's a little less juvenile, a little less unsure, and a little less lost.

Bakugou has always taken care of you, even before you started dating him. when you were mere friends and still learning each other, he remembered all the small things about you. he always seemed to pack the medicine you preferred when you weren’t feeling good. always had a plethora of your fav snacks on his person somehow, like he was just waiting for you to mention wanting it.
he acts put off by it every time, with his scoffing and eye rolling and huffing. but you see the way his eyes narrow when someone beats him to the punch, when you reject his offer of medicine or food. early on you notice, that he just likes to care for you, look after you, be there when you don’t even realize you need someone.
he’s there when you get high for the first time—all worrywart and frustrated sighs when you keep slurring after an hour. he’s there for you, to help lay you down somewhere safe and ward off those with bad intentions. he’s there when you get broken up with—ready to email that fuckers job and let them know how they fucked you over. but he still holds you tenderly with every sob your shaking body heaves. he’s there when you get drunk—handing you waters and letting you pull him in to dance and sing off key.
and when you finally get together, it’s like you don’t even have to learn anything about the other. its likes you’ve been together for a hundred lifetimes, like your quirks have been ingrained into his everyday routine, like you’re the freckle on the lower left corner of his right hand. he falls into you, and you into him, easier than breathing. he just has a knack for caring—and learning and loving—about those he loves.

"Thrawn only joined the Empire to help the Chiss!"
Okay sure but have any of you bothered to self-examine why Thrawn chose to join the Empire instead of, say, the Republic, when that was still around? Or why he didn't chose to throw in with the Rebellion, put his tactical mind to use helping them overthrow the Empire quicker?
Could it be... perhaps... that maybe he values the Empire's military strength... more than he cares about the authoritarian tyranny with which it oppresses its own people?
Is it possible that he thinks the Empire's main problem is that it isn't effective enough, too much politicking getting in the way of sound strategy, but if he's around (and in charge) he can guide things so that those annoying little wrinkles (AKA the pockets of discontent and rebellion and fully justified anger at their rights and freedoms being trampled on) are all smoothed out and the overall Imperial machine is better, more in control of its assets, a stronger more unified bulwark against the outergalactic threat of the Grysk or the Vong or whatever.
Is it perhaps just a bit self-centered of him to only care about the Empire's ability to service his own goals and desires and be apathetic (at best) to the way it makes people suffer daily under its inherent systems? The Twi'leks and Wookies being constantly kidnapped and sold into slavery? The careless industrialization of arboreal worlds? The socialization and absorption of all private industry, forcing everyone to work through and with the Empire if they want to work at all? The systematic persecution of anyone remotely Force Sensitive? Is it not the mark of some kind of soul rot to be aware of all of that and go, "Yeah, but I don't care, they have the bigger guns, which is what I need."?
Maybe... just maybe... Thrawn has some Machiavellian tendencies and opinions and maybe this just might... make him not entirely a good person?
And maybe y'all should think about that before you come back and whine about his portrayal as a villain, as if all he has to do is explain to people that he did everything for a good reason and he gets an automatic narrative pardon for all of the shit he did while Grand Admiral that still needs to be addressed and answered for.

on a scale of 1 to satan how bbg is mephisto
Satan has had far more time to establish his place as the ultimate babygirl (to me at least), so I can't give Mephisto the honor of being anywhere near his level but man the devs are making sure that he's at least getting close
I mean he
is the local horsegirl
apparently has a massive sweet tooth
stakes his entire self-worth on being useful to the future ruler of the land
seems to be great with kids
is super diligent. Just look at how much effort he is putting into journalism despite absolutely having no interest in pursuing that field in the future
is an honorary member of the Anti-Lucifer League, yet refuses to spread any false information about him in the school newspaper and mostly ends up singing his praises instead
runs said newspaper (and as someone who did the same for a year, I respect that a lot)
isn't really all that interested in MC, which is a nice change of pace
and finally, seems to dye his hair purple which makes him look like an eggplant <3
Also when he saved MC from falling on the ground and then brushed it off afterwards because he "only did what anyone would have done" back in season 4? That part was so good
ALSO Solmare could easily give him the perfect blushing face. Just look at him
