It’s the fact that limbo shouldn’t even exist. It literally came out of nowhere, there is no explanation for it. There was never any mention of it or indication that it existed in any of tvd/to. You’re telling me with all the people who died in those shows that we wouldn’t have heard about it? There was the other side, there was Cade’s hell, there was the ancestral well, which were all destroyed. But there had never been anything about limbo, and not in legacies either until 4x03. Landon died in 2x15 and was literally about to go to peace in 3x01, he was walking to the light, and it was not limbo. Yes, he was in a sort of limbo state, but not the actual limbo dimension. He didn’t have to cross a lake, there was no dock, no ferryman. We’ve seen characters end up in a limbo state in the other shows too (like Bonnie in the forest with Elena or Stefan at the high school with Elena in the tvd finale, for example). Which is sort of like their own personal limbo where they’re at temporarily before either coming back to life or finding peace. So it made sense to see Landon in a similar state in the cemetery before he nearly went to peace. And he certainly didn’t need a coin or anything to do that, it was just right there waiting for him, which is consistent with the other shows. Then they decided to create this literal limbo dimension, which was clearly just for the sake of having a place to trap Landon in to make him suffer even more. And they provide no real explanation for it or how it exists or how it came to be. Or why Landon didn’t end up there in 3x01, why literally no other character before 4x03 has ever ended up there. It’s just there all of a sudden for no good reason, or we’re supposed to believe it’s always been there, and now everyone who dies ends up there? We’re supposed to believe the other characters who died in the past, like possibly Klaus, ended up there? (And somehow all these dead people, like Elvis, happen to be in Mystic Falls as well?) It’s ridiculous and makes no sense. It’s like they’ll retcon whatever they have to just as a way to keep screwing Landon over.

Is Klaus a good father?
Tumblr media
I've been holding this one back for a while and if you are in this fandom, I'm sure you can imagine why. But recently on tik tok someone told me that I just "didn't understand" Klaus' character. But I promise you I do. Which is why I struggle to like him for most of the show.
Because for 90% of the show Klaus is a terrible brother and father.
Tumblr media
We can't talk about Klaus and fatherhood without first talking about Marcel. Klaus took Marcel in with the pretense of adopting him. But he allowed his own jealousy to rob Marcel of having any kind of typical childhood. Elijah wanted to educate Marcel and we see they bonded pretty quickly when Marcel first comes to live with them. And most parents would be thrilled to see a child who has lost his mother and experienced so much trauma was still able to connect with someone and be excited about learning. Instead, he is jealous and releases Kol. He allows Kol to completely go off the rails in the same house where a very mortal child is living.
We don't see any more of their relationship until he is older and we see Klaus interfere with Marcel and Rebekah. Again, some people say it's to protect Marcel, but it wasn't. It followed the same pattern of abuse against Rebekah that we've seen before. He continues to rob Marcel of his choices, with joining the war, with dating Rebekah, and then later by trying to steal the city Marcel had worked over 200 years to solidify. Klaus does not take Marcel in because he wants to be a father, he takes him in because he wants a warrior friend. Which is why he released Kol when he felt Elijah "stole" Marcel from him. He never truly wanted family, he had that. He wanted someone who would go along with his debauchery.
Tumblr media
And then Klaus finds out about Hope.
Klaus' first reaction to finding out of Hope's existence was to tell the witches to kill Hayley and the baby. Which I don't fully hold against him since he didn't trust it was his and was scared. But even after he accepts the baby is his and Elijah brings Hayley back to the house, Klaus shows almost no interest in Hayley or the baby. Rather, he is on a power quest to take over New Orleans from his first child.
The first time we get any sense Klaus cares whether the baby lives or dies is when he nearly chokes Hayley to death. I'm sorry, but that is not a sweet moment. It is abuse.
Throughout season 1 we see Elijah and Hayley grow close while Klaus is absent for most of the pregnancy. Klaus even leaves a pregnant Hayley in the woods alone with Elijah while he is suffering from his wolf venom. Elijah could have killed Hayley and Hope, and very nearly did if it wasn't for Eve. Klaus showed no regard for their safety because he got his feelings hurt that his brother doubted his intentions. Intentions that should have been questioned. Elijah had seen Klaus seek power over family for a thousand years and the last thing he heard from Klaus about the baby was he wanted a legacy, not a baby. Yes, there are a couple of moments where we see he cares or is afraid, but he does very little to actually help Hayley throughout her pregnancy. In fact, he kidnaps her and lets his brother watch over her instead of him.
Then Hope is born. Yes, Klaus clearly cares for her. I'm not denying that. But Klaus is a textbook narcissist and they historically do not make the best parents. We see a moment of selflessness when he agrees to send Hope off with Rebekah and clean up the mess he's made in New Orleans. But again, he relies on Elijah to clean it up while he mopes and isn't concerned about the mother of his child until Elijah forces him to.
Again, we have a sweet scene with Hayley and Klaus reuniting with Hope, but it makes no sense that they left her with Elijah. Elijah who was still struggling to control himself after being mentally and physically tortured. The only protection Hope has is Cami who would not be able to protect Hope if Elijah lost control.
Another moment people think is cute, but I find incredibly manipulative, is when Klaus has Cami and Elijah bring Hope back to New Orleans. The city is still unsafe. In fact she had just been attacked by Finn and Freya was on the loose, someone they didn't trust, Rebekah was missing. It was not the time to bring her back. But Klaus wanted to make sure he had his werewolf army, which Hayley went through with the wedding. A good parent would put their child's safety over anything. Hope should have stayed out of New Orleans until he was sure they could protect her. But Klaus continuously puts his own wants over even Hope's safety.
We don't see much of Hope and Klaus' interactions in the month they all live together. In fact, we see Jackson with Hope more. And that's still limited. Hope is sent out to the bayou repeatedly. A lot of this is because Klaus was busy dealing with all of the threats from his family. Again, it was not safe to bring Hope back yet.
When Dahlia shows up, Klaus goes off the rails. People love to say he was a master manipulator, but he really was just going with the flow and picking the most chaotic option available to him. He admitted to killing a friend of the wolves, effectively losing the army he worked so hard to ensure and causing doubt amongst his whole family about his trustworthiness. Again, instead of putting Hope's safety first, he lets his paranoia lead him and he puts Hope in more danger. Dahlia only finds Hope because he hands over his blood. Instead of working with his siblings to defeat Dahlia while Hayley runs with Hope, he betrays everyone and then curses Hayley. Once again, because he's a narcissist and thinks he is the only one who can protect Hope. This is in direct contradiction to the fact that he's seen his family and Hayley fight to the death for Hope already.
For perspective, I think we need a timeline of Hope's life so far: Hope was born and her mother was murdered while holding her mere second after her birth. Then within a few days sent away from her mother. Mothers bonding with babies in the first few days is so important for development. Rebekah raises her for 6 months or so and then she gets to see her mom for a night and her dad for a couple of hours. Cami and Elijah take care of her for a few weeks and then she's in New Orleans living with Hayley, Klaus, and Jackson (people this 7 month only baby really doesn't even know) for a month. Then after adjusting for a month, she loses Hayley and Jackson for 6 more months. Hope is surrounded by Klaus, Freya, and Elijah -- again, people she doesn't really know. The first year of her life is full of upheaval and she is not able to create a secure attachment with anyone. Klaus only makes this worse by taking Hayley away for six months.
And before you say, 'he did it to save her life.' He made absolutely no effort to help save her and even objected to Elijah bringing Hope out to the bayou. It was a punishment for Hayley believing she knew what was best for Hope even though he was behaving in the exact same way. He also apologizes for it and says he was wrong later. He even agrees he shouldn't have done it.
This is where I get frustrated with Klaus stans. People always want to say he has the best character development, but when I call him out for his early behavior, they get upset. It's because of his early behavior we were able to see any growth.
And we do see growth. To me, the most growth is at the end of season 3. Throughout season 3, we also don't see Klaus interact with Hope very much. Hope is mostly just with Hayley or out in the bayou, basically unprotected. But at the end, he finally realizes what it means to be a father. He tells Hayley to take Hope and run. He puts Hope above his own desires. This is the most selfless we ever see Klaus. And it does cost him. He misses out on five years of Hope's life.
When he wakes up, he is still in that same headspace (thank you Cami). The family decides to leave New Orleans alone and abandon the fight with Marcel. This is shocking behavior for Klaus. But he wants to raise his daughter in peace. I love the couple of episodes we get here with them. But then the Hollow happens and they have to go back to New Orleans. Where Klaus imprisons his first child, Marcel. I'm sorry, but no matter what Hope did, Klaus would never treat her the way he treated Marcel. Whether it's racist, sexist, or based on him not being blood, you decide.
Klaus is only in Hope's life for about a week until he has to leave because of the Hollow. Again, this is peek Klaus parenting in this one week. But then while he's gone, he goes off the deep end. He claims it is to keep Elijah safe, but in reality, it is because he has nothing tethering him. Once Hope sees him, he completely cuts her off. He never actually learned to be an everyday father. He only knew how to make the big gestures. He doesn't know how to sit down with her and explain or even how to reach out to Hayley and have an adult conversation. He abandons his daughter to the point that she kidnaps her own mother to get his attention. He falls back into his old habits, putting his comfort over his daughter. Because it's easier to ignore her than to face the harsh reality of dealing with the terrible things he's done and trying to be an actual better person for Hope.
We don't see Klaus act as a parent for another 7 years. And this whole season was just a mess. I do understand he can't be close to her. But they have magic and phones, he could have contacted her better. He should have been more involved. If you follow me on tik tok, you already know how ridiculous I think Hayley's death episode was.
Hayley's death would have been the hardest thing Hope has ever gone through. I hate season 5 for making her bounce back so quickly. Hayley was the one constant in Hope's life. I know everyone wants to act like Klaus' death should have impacted her more, but she didn't really know him. He was more of an idea to her than an actual person.
Hope was falling apart for most of season 5, so Klaus gets the bright idea to kill himself less than a week after Hope loses her mother. This is portrayed as the ultimate sacrifice for his daughter, but it was incredibly selfish. Elijah was willing and able to die by himself, but because Klaus didn't want another man to die for his daughter, Hope had to lose both her parents in the span of a week. Not only that, but feel responsible for their deaths. I will be the first to admit, season 5 was just bad writing because the showrunners were ready to move on to Legacies. But it's all we have.
All of the development we see with Klaus is destroyed in season 5. I am hard on Klaus' character because this fandom loves to let him get away with everything. But I do genuinely like aspects of his character. And, as I said, I do love the one week of his relationship with Hope, but it's not enough to overshadow the danger and hurt he put her through.

timeline of (canon) events for davina because jpec and the crew hate consistency, math and anything else to do with making my life easier.
— davina is born on may eighteenth, 1994. her father left her mother before she was known to them, but she grew up thinking he ran out on them knowing she was on the way.
— here's where things get tricky. hayley says she's been locked up in the cemetery since april 30th, when the deveraux family figured out she was pregnant. this means it's after the harvest. davina later says she spent eight months in the attic. this timeline heavily involves fixing the math for hayley and hope as well. hayley and klaus made hope on march 24th, 2011. so. we're starting from there.
april 30th, the deveraux sisters lure hayley in and kidnap her because she's one month pregnant with hope at this point. klaus and elijah don't find out about hayley until may 2nd. she leaves with them after that, and there's a time skip between episode one and episode two (from may, to september. we know this because rebekah came to new orleans at the end of that summer, looking for elijah, in episode two). that's five months davina spent in the attic. from this, we can estimate the date she got there was in january. davina left the attic around the middle of september, i'll say. so, the harvest happened in january.
when davina went into the attic, she was sixteen. when she came out, she was seventeen.
— davina completes the harvest during hayley's sixth month of pregnancy, and comes back during the middle of the eighth month.
hope (with the correct math) was born sometime in november (considering she was stated to be born earlier than expected due to outside factors). which brings us to the next point.
— davina brought mikael back in november, on the day of hope's birth. there's a four month time jump between this event and where season two picks up, which makes it march of 2012. davina has had mikael holed up for four months.
— she meets kol at the beginning of march. we know season two spans over at least a month (season two canonically takes place starting in september, and there's a halloween themed event in one of them, which means a month lapsed at least). revising it to make sense with this timeline? in april, mikael kidnaps cami, and davina teams up with klaus, marcel, kol and hayley to get her back. she and kol then leave.
— they spend four days holed up in a motel, bringing it to april 10th. they spend a day working on the dagger, april 11th. kol is kidnapped by marcel. davina shows up to take down klaus the day after, which makes it april 12th. she stops esther from jumping into cami's body.
— they spend two weeks and change working on the dagger, which puts them in may. kol dies on may 6th, 2012. her eighteenth birthday passes with her in mourning. davina becomes regent and resurrects esther in june.
— there's a six month time skip (i believe?) between season two ending and season three beginning. this puts them at january (of 2013) again. davina has been regent for months. it's in the beginning of february that she orders hayley to kill kara. the massacre follows. i'm not even gonna pretend i know how long season three was supposed to last over real time, but i give it about three months. davina resurrects kol by march, and dies less than a month later. the siblings go under not too long after, in 2013.
— davina is resurrected by the hollow when she's (supposed to be) twenty three, meaning it's (for my timeline, at least) prior to may of 2018.

"my masterlist ↪M A S T E R L I S T
prompt ↪ You're human, living in the world of supernatural beings wasn't a new concept to you but the idea of falling in love with one was. You had been Klaus's friend for a good bit of a year or two, in that time you had fallen in love with him. You always saw him with Cami, some even said that they were in love so, being the good friend you are you decided to keep your love for him a secret... until Cami rubbed it in your face. "klaus mikaelson you aren't home so I know you're with her" warnings / other notes ↪ Camille O'Connell Slander <3 ↪ when the call come to the story you are in red italics, klaus is in black italic ↪swearing and angry stuff
Cami's so perfect, Cami's so nice. Cami should date someone better than him. It's been months and she won't shut up, so I'm going to confront Klaus... about my feelings. Cami needs to learn when enough is enough, sure I've given it to her that she has a thing with the strongest supernatural being of all but I don't think she has true feelings, its fear or maybe because no one would dare threaten the queen of a powerful man. "Elijah" I yell across the road from my balcony, Elijah had enough of Cami's shit aswell. He didn't call it shit though, I did he preferred the term nonsense which made sense since his grammar was about a thousand years outdated. Elijah also knew about my impending tantrum about Cami rubbing her relationship in my face, given that he was the person who first noticed my 'crush' on his younger brother. He pokes his head out from their main room and I wave at him, he looks back with a smirk before waving "to what do I owe the pleasure y/n" he says as I lean over my balcony.
"nothing I just saw you walk past" I giggle, Elijah has had enough of my shit aswell I presume. He laughed quietly before walking back inside, I spin around to my door that was wide open. Cami stands there with a smile "Hey y/n" She smiles, I don't think she intended on rubbing her relationship in my face but I always just thought they were a therapist and patient thing. "Hey Camille" I clear my throat "What are you doing?" She asks walking in looking around my apartment. Grabbing my coat and my phone "about to go to your boyfriends... what is he doing?" I mumble throwing my coat over my shoulders. "He's out" she smiles "oh well i'm still going" I mumble, in fact I knew he was gone. He'd be all night as per usual and then he'd come home, covered in blood or back with some ancient that helps him in some way. Then I'd worry he text Cami and the we'd bid our goodbyes, at two in the morning. "Oook" she says awkwardly "I thought you had a shift" I say as we step out of my apartment "I do" she says "great, i'll walk you there?" I ask and she nods.
Tumblr media
Walking into the Mikaelson Mansion, Hayley one of three woman I like in New Orleans greets me with a warm hug "heyy y/n" she says squeezing me "Hi Hayley" I chuckle hugging her back. Her and Elijah had a thing, maybe more than a thing. They were IN love but like his younger brother Elijah was stubborn he hated voicing his emotions. "how's she?" I ask her, I was one of the few people the Mikaelsons trusted which surprised me, especially since Cami was the girlfriend and she didn't know. I was actually one of the only people that knew... weird. "she's fine, just painting often there's not much to do you know" she smiles and I nod "waiting for Klaus?" Rebekah asks walking down the stairs. Rebekah was friendly, she wasn't really fond of anyone including me. "yeah" I smile as she walks past, her and Marcel have history, she thought he died they came back and he wasn't. All angsty, they need to release the sexual tension if you ask me. Walking upstairs to the foyer, Elijah was sat at the desk reading some ancient script "did you write that one?" I ask sitting down at a couch and he looks up "no in fact, Niklaus and Rebekah wrote it in spite of me." He says leaning back in his chair.
Elijah tells me stories about the faux scripts they wrote about a moonstone, how it would break the curse of a werewolf or whatever he had shown me the script actually a couple months ago. "Niklaus tells me, you have been causing trouble." Elijah says in a judgmental tone. "Trouble? He says that, where is he right now?" I ask and Elijah chuckles shaking his head. "for a human you sure have quite the mouth talking to an original" he says cocking an eyebrow "when's that stopped me before" I say and he nods rolling the script back up. "hm nothing" he shakes his head opening up the doors revealing the view of New Orleans, or, my apartment. "although I do get in trouble, what's it to you anyway?" I hum "well Klaus insists that I should talk to you, what exactly are you doing?" he spins around sitting on the couch opposite of me. "just stealing, I don't have those freaky mind powers you weirdos do so... I... what's the word" I ask "adapt?" he responds and I nod "I adapt, instead of making them forget I make them know it's about to happen" pointing at him he nods impressed. Or not... I honestly couldn't tell with Elijah, he had a mean poker face. "Look I have somewhere to be, people expecting me and I assume you are doing what you do every other day." He stands up "alright" I say as he walks out of the room.
Tumblr media
It's 1:30am, Klaus was back by now or maybe in a few minutes but given the fact that there was no loud car, screaming Klaus or upset siblings walking around. He was at Camille's. Walking into his room I lay on his bed, I wonder if she knew the amount of time's I would lay here waiting for her boyfriend to come home almost like he was my husband. His room was different to his siblings, it had books, paintings and a beautiful view of course, but, his room had a different aura. Not complete death either, it was an odd aura, not that I knew his aura, I just knew him. "Klaus" I mumble dialling his number, the ring echoing through my mind. There were nights where he'd be with her, watching her sleep not that she noticed but he'd sit there for hours. y/n? klaus mikaelson you aren't home so I know you're with her. i completely forgot you were waiting. you never forget you just wanted to see her, be honest. shes a sight for sore eyes, y/n. yeah your sore eyes, what were you doing? just some more buisness. get home i need to tell you something- y/n i can't just leave. is she awake? no exactly come here you can always zoom back. fine. By the time he finally arrived back it was 2am, he sits on his bed "come on" he says insinuating for me to hurry "don't rush me Nik" I say sternly, I was serious and sure of my feelings, I was telling him now. He stands up taking off his shirt to replace it, to look better and more presentable since his last shirt had blood, grabbing a leather jacket he throws it on overtop of his shirt. "what" he says "i wait here all night to ensure your safe return and I don't get a how was your day, even when you snitched on me to your brother" I huff he always got bitchy when he returned home late. "well i have a girlfriend" "WELL YOU'RE GIRLFRIEND" I yell giving him a fright, "you're girlfriend is asleep and at her house, I'm awake and talking to you... wanting to anyways" I tap my finger against his bed impatiently. "really do you think she would be here right now if she wanted" Klaus said "won't you just fucking listen" I say getting frustrated at him "i love you" I say and he stops moving, looking down at me with a serious face. "what?" he asks this time confused "you're just mad at Cami-" "yes, I'm mad at her, but you've known me longer than her but its always her instead of me." I fold my arms. "and i've been ok with that but for months it's been, y/n where's my boyfriend, y/n did you know i love klaus, y/n check out what klaus bought me." I stand up. "I don't care if you love her, but if anything was suppose to be said to anyone tonight I had to say this to you" pointing at him he continues to stare at me. "i'm sick of her using you as some like leverage over everyone so they're scared, especially just rubbing it in my face for fuck sakes klaus." I say annoyed, it was highly selfish of me to adit my undying love to my friends boyfriend. But he wouldn't be her boyfriend if I hadn't introduced them. "y/n" he paused, he was speechless. Of course he didn't expect me out of all people to fall in love with him, I always showed no interest in him unless it was him coming back in the middle of the night. "it's unexpected yeah i know that was all, at least your home safe." I mumble before grabbing my coat off of his bed and turning to walk away. I didn't expect him to get a word out "is it true?" he asks and I spin around "is what true?" I respond. "do you.. l- have feelings for me, or is it jealousy?" he asks me "if you think its jealousy, klaus, you don't know anything about me." I mumble "like i said its always her instead of me." I spin back around. I sounded jealous, it was never my intention. "wait no I am jealous" I say turning back to him once more "Jealous that she gets to kiss you, gets you to protect her despite all the shit she has said about you. I'm Jealous that she gets to wake up with you and I wake up knowing it" the look on his face was rare, only a few were able to see it. His eyes meet mine, I could tell he had something to say, something so unlike him... but he
has her. "i'll see you tonight when you disappear again" I mumble walking out.

The Originals - Season 3 Rant
I finally finished season 3 of The Originals. And I have SO many thoughts. Please if you want read this and message me. I wanna discuss this xD
First of all, I wanna slap Marcel so hard. Seriously. I understand his anger & I understand that he feels betrayed once again but they are his family. If it wasn’t for Nik he’d be dead. If Freya didn’t use Davina to get the power to kill Lucien then they’d all be dead. Lucien would have killed the Mikaelsons and Marcel would have been one of his victims. He already killed Cami and Finn. Did Marcel really think that Lucien would have not come after him too? If they would have had more time then of course they would have not used Davina for that. They would have gotten her back from the dead and Freya & Davina would have worked together to bring Lucien down. But there was NO time. Lucien was THIS close to kill Hayley, Elijah, Freya and I’m sure he wouldn’t have spared Hope.
And Davina, I’m sorry but that girl got herself into this mess that ended with her death. In the end she could have just stayed away from Kol, leave the city etc until she was able to find a spell that would end Kol’s hex. But NO, she had to be selfish & stubborn. So I’m not even sorry that Freya used her to safe the family. I do not agree with Marcel that the Mikaelsons are the reason for her death. I mean in the end it was Marcel that saved her from the Harvest and Davina’s own mess that she started that made the ancestors angry.
Elijah killing Marcel was kinda uncalled for. But I also understand Elijah after what he saw. And I understand Marcel for hating Elijah for doing that. Killed by his own family. BUT he took the serum before so he can’t exactly say that he didn’t betray them too. He was basically waiting for one of them to kill him so he could kill them.
Cami’s death was the worst thing in season 3. An unnecessary death. Cami was innocent and I can’t forgive Lucien for killing her. At first I really thought that Lucien was on Nik’s side but the moment things happened and he acted all “Oh I’m on your side” shit I was like......what are you hiding?! Talking about Lucien, the people I hated the most in season 3 are Tristan and Aurora. I’m so happy that Tristan is rotting on the bottom of the ocean and drowning over and over again. Sadly I know that Aurora will live since I saw things from Legacies. That bitch. Seriously. She belongs right next to her brother for turning Cami.
The only good thing is that I know that no one else will die now. If I would have watched the show while it was on TV I would have been a nervous wreck until season 4. But gladly I know how the show ends so I know that Elijah and Nik will be alive (until the end). Lucien could have been a badass ally but he sadly was too consumed by his hatred for Nik. I still love Marcel because I understand why he did what he did but I’m also so disappointed. For me Marcel and Nik had this bond that no matter what they’d be there for eachother. But Marcel saw SO much that the Mikaelsons did. He literally was victim of Nik’s paranoia. And he always stood by them. And then because Davina died he suddenly turns against them? I can understand that maybe this was the last bit of hope that was taken from him....but idk...Marcel always says how he isn’t like them but then he did what he did. He’s no better. If he was better than them he would have not taken the serum, he would have destroyed it. He would have maybe left them but as a better person he would have not tried to kill them.

Hello again! A bit of a delay I know, had some personal life stuff, but I’m back babey!
Firstly, I want to say Happy Pride Month! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 I myself have only recently come out, but to all my peeps in the lgbtq+ community I wish you a month of celebration.
For the topic, I chose one that has been circling in my brain since some asks last week gave me a revelation: I will be discussing kolvina, and more specifically the direction the writers chose for a one Davina Claire.
This ship has always been an anomaly to me, like when it was happening on my screen I was in denial that it was happening at all, and the perceptions on this site have only fueled that feeling. I’ve been watching these communities for a few years now, and the general consensus is people both love and hate this ship, and both sides seem to be equal in numbers. So what is my opinion on kolvina? Well after much deliberation I have decided that.... I don’t like it, and here’s why!
First thing’s first, I want to say I understand this ship better than any other ship in both shows, honestly if the characters acted differently it would’ve been a lot better. The dynamic is there (and I know how important that is to people), not just a trope, but between both characters it works! Let me explain, starting with Kol. Season two goes into depth on his insecurities with his family and how lonely it made him feel over the years. I mean, the show always potrayed the big three: Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah with the strongest bonds and while Finn chooses to exclude himself (for valid reasons tbh) Kol even in the vampire diaries wanted to be a part of that. The problem is (for some reason that is never explained) his siblings don’t care about him. The easiest example is how they reacted to his death, Rebekah was upset for a minute and Elijah didn’t even seem affected at all, the closest I can say is Klaus was angered and didn’t forget for a while, but as soon as the originals started nothing. Then we have his second death where Klaus takes the only opportunity to bring him back off the table and the only one who seeks to try is Rebekah, meanwhile Elijah is nowhere to be found in this department. This finally brings us to Davina. As much of an issue as this is (and we’ll talk about it later), Davina seems to be the first person to ever put Kol first. When he dies a second time, Davina’s number one priority is his resurrection and goes to incredible lengths to do so. I know people say it’s unrealistic for Kol to take interest in a mortal, but it makes sense to me, she’s a witch. From what we learn, Kol has a soft spot for witches cause he yearns for the power that was taken from him by his mother, which doesn’t even go into Davina herself being a rebel like him who paved her own way. Onto Davina’s feelings towards him, Kol’s the only person in her life that is there unconditionally. I know Marcel loves her, but his loyalty to his family clearly comes into conflict with his loyalty to his other family, including her. Klaus either ruins her life or demands things from her. Cami was there for her, but they scrapped that relationship after season one. When Kol is by her side, it’s not cause he needs things from her, nor is he there as some kind of protection. In season two, Davina had a plan and Kol’s response was “okay, I can assist you with that.” Side note, I really liked their friendship in season two before they of course made it something more. Regardless of the past, all of this material would’ve made for a pretty great relationship, but it fell flat, why did that happen?
I have two reasons for why I could never get on board with them. The first is the most obvious: it’s the age difference for me. I know we had Damon and Elena and Klaus and Caroline, but for kolvina the vibe was weirder. Perhaps because Davina acts more childish than them in season one, or because our image of her was young and sweet. It might also have to do with Kol referring to being Kaleb as the body of a teenager making him seem way older than he probably is. I know by season three Davina is 18, but that feeling never goes away for me. This was my hesitance in season two, but as a friendship those two were pretty fun together (might be an unpopular opinion). The problems start in season three.
The second reason is something that the community has kind of dipped into, but not enough. I don’t know if I’m not looking hard enough, but every complaint for kolvina in season three talk only about how insufferable Kol was, which yeah definitely, but honeys he’s only half the problem. Not even halfway through season two Davina stopped being a character. Remember her in season one? A bright spitfire who wasn’t afraid to speak up at the injustice of the Mikaelson’s even if it put her at risk? The girl who showed up Klaus on multiple occasions? Who stood for Josh, Marcel, Cami, and anyone else being pushed around by Klaus? The girl who was powerful, yet kind? A powerhouse set up on a warpath against the Mikaelson’s for season two? I remember her! She was one of my favorite characters because of how badass she was while still keeping her agency. I don’t blame you if you forgot she’s never talked about, and that’s because of what follows. Season two starts off well, with Davina standing her ground against the wolves and keeping Mikael under control showed she wasn’t completely in over her head. Her plan is to find a way to de-sire Klaus’ sireline so she doesn’t kill Marcel and Josh which shows she’s smart and thinking ahead. Then she meets Kaleb, and it goes downhill from there. I get that Davina is supposed to be a naive teenage girl, but that doesn’t excuse after she finds out Kaleb is really Kol. After her Mikael plan fell through her backup plan is to just sit around until Kol shows her the room and tells her about the dagger. With what she’s trying to accomplish it’s a smart plan, but that doesn’t mean her sudden trust in Kol is any less stupid. Her first thought when he’s gone with the stake is to assume he took it and left, so if she thought he was capable of that, why did she drop her guard in the first place? Gets me frustrated. When Kol dies Davina also completes the dagger and for the rest of the season does nothing with it, she does nothing period but whine about Kol with everyone she interacts with which is annoying considering how much she was a part of in season one. That was bad, but the worst is yet to come. Season three gives her a storyline as a ruler of the witches before immediately ending it, and when you look at what they threw away it’s even worse. So Davina gets Hayley to kill one of her detesters and it ends in a bloodbath and the son vows justice for his mom (which is completely valid), and Marcel hints at her turning into Klaus. This is promising, in this scenario Davina is Klaus holding power over the powerless, and Van Nguyen is Davina taking a stand. Very interesting, until she gets shunned in the seventh episode. What was the point? The next time we see her she is distraught at her current predicament, but not because she’s cut off from her people and her ancestors because now she doesn’t have the power to bring Kol back (of course it’s for no other reason). I just don’t understand why Davina was relegated to a side character in the later seasons after all she did in season one. They couldn’t have cut anything else from 3a (Tristan and Aurora perhaps, they were so boring)? Finally, we have her characterization after she resurrected Kol, nothing. She does nothing but wait in the wings for Kol to finish helping his family, a family she hated and had every right to. She either does nothing, or is only around to help with Kol’s sudden curse, and yet Kol is supposed to be worse. I know, I know, the big bad Kol Mikaelson became a lost puppy chasing after Davina, but so was she. They were just as bad as each other, two puppies chasing the tail of the other. Then she died, to push forward the plot around her. If you think that’s treating her like a plot device, let’s fast forward to season four. Davina Claire, harvest girl, rebellious teen, former queen regent of New Orlean witches, is a piece of leverage to control Kol. I’m done. There’s not much to say about season five, she only shows up to spout information and that’s about it.
It’s a sad end that Davina doesn’t even get an epilogue in the finale (I mean I have many problems with the finale regardless but I digress). Our only conclusion is that she lives happily ever after with her immortal boyfriend. Oh yeah! They never explain that caveat. She’s a mortal witch who will eventually die of old age, and he’s an original. I’m either supposed to assume Davina becomes a vampire (which would be the most out of character thing for her to do considering she hates vampires and loves her magic), which would mean women making personal sacrifices while the man doesn’t have to give up a thing (such a wonderful lesson we keep telling young women), or Kol became mortal by maybe also taking the cure with Rebekah (which makes a bit more sense since we know Kol misses doing magic). The point is, we don’t know, cause they don’t explain anything.
Look Davina wasn’t the perfect character, but she deserved so much better than what she became, and the worst part is this is barely talked about. Like I said, when people hate on kolvina, they approach it from “they ruined Kol!” And not really mentioning Davina. You’ll notice I mention Kol’s characterization, but I’m not going in depth. That’s cause you can easily find a more articulated response on how they did Kol dirty without having to look too hard, but Davina? She needs all the shoutouts she can get. Cami is overhated, and Davina is ignored. That’s two female regulars in the cast being treated terribly by the community and I will not stand for it! I wanna see Davina Claire deserves better cause she did.
To wrap up a very long post, we need to talk about Davina more, when I said season three was better than tvd I wasn’t referring to 3a, justice for the women of the originals, happy pride month, I’ll try to post more frequently.

ok ik you already did klaus/hope and hayley/hope hc’s but i rewatched s5 last night and i’m sad so can you do klaylope hc’s post s5 if things weren’t dumb and klayley didn’t die
if it makes you feel any better, klayley is watching their daughter rn play out what's happening in legacies and yelling at her for being so stupid (and again, sorry this is so late, motivation has not Been There)
in a world where hayley put on greta's daylight ring before vamping outside so only greta died and elijah convinced klaus to convince caroline to let the twins put the magic into him and only elijah died with the hollow
in a world where hope has a considerably lower amount of ptsd - not by a lot, but hey, at least her parents aren't dead.
she's not okay, by the way, which is why klaus and hayley make the best parenting decision they could ever make and send her to therapy
and if they drink a bottle of champagne in celebration that that's the first parenting decision they've made together in six years, so be it
hayley's apparently an angry drunk, and klaus somehow has permanent scars from where hayley hits him for abandoning them when it was most important (no i will never be over this neither hope nor hayley deserved to be left behind for six fucking years)
klaus has... unconventional methods of grief, many of which hayley and the rest of the mikaelsons had already seen when cami died, but hope does not handle it as well
klaus lashes out at rebekah, who moved back in to Be There for the rest of them, and hope proceeds to lash out at him, yelling that they are grieving too, just as much as he is, and he does not hold the monopoly for it and he better shut the fuck up and stop hurting rebekah or "god help me dad, the hollow will be the least of your problems"
hayley watches it all from a distance and laughs because she's right, but then she puts on her mom face(tm) and scolds hope for saying fuck
when klaus has the AUDACITY to demand why hope isn't being punished for more, hayley snaps and says "because she's fucking right, asshole. besides, you don't get to tell me how to parent our daughter when you haven't done exactly that since she was a kid"
hope high fives her
hayley, as mentioned before, is also grieving, and not in the most productive way, as in repress
repress means that she studiously ignores all the bad in the family, so the day after the fight, she kisses hope on the cheek and ruffles her hair and pretends everything is absolutely fine between her and klaus and klaus and hope
that very much does not work when hope yells at her this time about not dealing with her emotions at all and then bottling it all up and not setting a very good example for "impressionable young teenagers who don't know how to grieve properly dammit!"
hope then curls up on the kitchen floor and has a mental breakdown and all klaus and hayley can do is hug her as tight as they can without breaking her
they contact her therapist and change her weekly sessions to twice a week after that
later, klaus pulls hayley aside and asks her how it feels to be on the receiving side
she slaps him on the head and just barely manages to not poor her steaming hot coffee over him
eventually, hope has to go back to school, for all her protesting, but hayley and klaus make it a point to visit her at least once a month, if not more, on their travels trying to undo the binding of hayley's wolf side
it takes a long, long time, and they're spending their time in venice beach, california, when caroline calls hayley to tell her that hope's activated her curse
i don't have the brain power to think of a person hope actually killed, but she did but only indirectly and it was not her fault, is what hayley reassures her over and over again when they get there
klaus and hayley take hope home to new orleans for her first shift, to the bayou where hayley and hope feel the most connected, and klaus is happy watching his little wolves run around in their animal forms
he shifts and joins them and it zooms out, panning to three wolves somehow looking content even though i don't know if wolves have facial expressions but that is how you give the show a proper and happy ending

Camijah anon again I'd love the deets of cami becoming a vamp and elijah's possible connection to it if it's there. maybe some romance info like who likes who first idk honestly any and all you've got.
So they had been having these flirty moments here and there throughout the season (he checks in on her after she gets caught at the police station with Lucien, and he's also the one who rescues Cami from Lucien's penthouse, cause he still kidnaps her cause he needed the serratura that was in the middle of her dark objects, she stays at their home for a bit after that and the two hang out a lot), and by Christmas chapter (3x09) Cami had been staying with them on Elijah's *insistence* because he wanted to make sure she'd be safe from Lucien.
The two of them finally get together on Christmas night. He tries very hard to resist it because he doesn't want to get her even more involved than she already is, but Cami pushes and tempts him a bit more, so I guess I would say she's the one who crossed the line first. And unlike the show, when Klaus basically makes out with her and then turns around and goes to sleep (I'll never get over this), they have sex. Yay! 🤣 But she ends up turning into a vampire the same way she does on the show because here Aurora's compulsion was meant as a revenge on Elijah, not as a petty jealousy trick on Klaus (going back to the whole thing I explained about my hc). During the Thanksgiving dinner they throw to the trio, Elijah is the one who ends up handling her (I think on the show he deals with Lucien while Freya and Hayley are the ones questioning Aurora?), and he taunts her and provokes her by showing her a painting Klaus made of Caroline to show her how he doesn't think of her anymore, how he's glad Elijah compelled her to leave him because then he was free to find the real love of his life, so that is the thing that spurs her to kidnap Caroline to understand why she managed into the family, and also to get revenge on him through Cami. Basically, Elijah really, really hates Aurora. lol
But Elijah has a very different personality than Klaus, so he handles this in a different way. He's much more respectful of Cami's wishes and the fact she wants distance from him, even if it kills him. He's completely devastated that she died, he hates himself for it, he blames himself for it, and while Klaus just basically pestered the hell out of Cami to make sure she would complete transition, Elijah gives her a few words, but eventually allows her space. She does complete transition in the end, after a very candid conversation with Caroline where she talks to Cami about her own thoughts about not completing transition in TW1. And then all things go to hell between him and Cami because she's a disaster of a vamp.
He does stick around, obviously, but he has that whole sad boy aura about him, so when she acts like she hates him for what happened to her, he takes a step back and lets Klaus deal with her instead, which ends up being a very bad decision, because Klaus obviously has no patience for Cami's behavior, and he's also not in love with her, so Caroline has to step in before he ends up killing her. She also pisses off Caroline, but she doesn't get murderous.
The whole Cami transition is one of the things I hate the most on TOS3. It's awful, annoying and it makes no sense. The whole reasoning I applied behind all of this in TW3 is that Cami was acting the way she thought vampires should act. The strongest feeling she had when she became a vampire was fear. She was terrified about the murder spree happening in the Quarter, which she had been investigating, she had just been kidnapped by Lucien, so she was shaken, she's afraid of how humans are being wiped out for the silly whims of vampires, and when she dies, that is what gets amplified, but also her resilience. Except that translates into her acting the way she's seen vampires acting since she became aware of their world, in order to avoid becoming a victim herself. She spent time as Klaus' therapist, she spent time with Marcel and then with Elijah, and they're all arrogant and reckless and walk around like they own the whole world and know no consequences, so she just unconsciously replicates that. While she was helping them figure out themselves, they ended up getting to her a lot more than anyone had expected, and Caroline is the one who tells them 'Look, she is annoying because she is Klaus now, so we have to deal with it'. it takes a moment for Cami to get her bearings and start calming down, but not before she causes some trouble for everyone.
She tells Elijah she doesn't want to see him anymore when he tries to start rebuilding bridges between them because she doesn't trust herself enough to be with a vampire at that moment and she's bitter still because of what Aurora did to her. And then she actually helps to rescue Elijah at one point and after that Lucien tries to use her to lure Caroline into a trap (after he turns into Super Hybrid), but she doesn't get bitten, but comes dangerously close to it. I wouldn't kill Cami. 🤣 What happens though is that she comes to understand that if she sticks around New Orleans when she's still trying to find her footing and learn how to survive as a vampire, while everyone who's close to the Mikaelsons has basically been turned into targets by the Ancestors and Lucien, she's going to end up dead. So she makes the decision, on her own, to leave in order to survive. And instead of a long funeral, chapter 3x19 is about Cami saying not goodbye, but a 'see you soon' to all of them. She has a very cute scene with Klaus, which was actually my favorite goodbye moment, also a very, very sweet and candid moment with Caroline (and Eve). And then there's Elijah. The two of them have an honest convo where they admit their feelings (it's not love, but it's... something strong) and their failures. Elijah doesn't try to get her to stay or control her life the way Klaus would, because he understands she's right, even if he wants her to stay close to him, she should free herself from their family's chaos and live the happiest life she can. And she says she'll be visiting a café he told her about once (the place where he used to go discuss the human mind with Freud lol, he name drops Freud in TW2 and then they have a convo about it in TW3) and that she hopes she might meet him there one day. There's some kissy-kissy, and then they bid adieu. And that's the end of Cami's journey in TW3.
They would be endgame, though, and she'd come back at the end of TW4. 🤣🤣
Wow, I just told you the whole thing! I'm sorry if this is a lot, anon. 🥲 But thank you for your interest! It's cool to talk about this. ❤️

Here’s my brief analysis on why I think Klaus is the best written character in the TVDTO universe - why he brings such an impact. If you’d like to add anything else, please do!
First thing I want to say about The Originals is that it answers a big question that all screenwriters focus on when first beginning a story. The question is “What is your story about?” And when I ask that, I don’t mean, tell me the plot of your story. I mean, what is the theme, the meaning - what are you trying to say. For TO it’s: Family is power, Redemption, and The ability to change. Each story should have an A and B plot. A plot is the story and B plot carries the arc. The show builds a structure for itself. I also feel unlike other shows, TO doesn’t drag its story. It ended right at the best time and finished its story. A lot of fans were angry that Klaus died, but I think after the path that his character went through, it was time for him to die. After being the inevitable, the one who was the most indestructible hybrid that ever lived, the one who couldn’t die, the one who couldn’t love, he became the man who finally was able to die and love. And he died for the love of his daughter.
For what your story is about, most people are wrapped up about the plot, they don’t think about the person going through the plot. They don’t see the change. In order to be successful in your A story, you have to be successful in what your story goes through in general. What is your main character going through, what is their goal?  For Klaus his goal was to be the most powerful by gaining his daughter. Even though he already was. From an outside perspective, everyone already saw him as one who can’t be defeated. He, however, didn't see that. By the end of the story, his goal was to make sure his daughter was saved. The goal began from his daughter and ended with that, but from a different ideology. When writing a story, your story should begin and end the same way - but the goal should be different. If I start my story with a shot of a cross and end the story with that same cross being burned, the story ends in the same way but with different intentions. Within that space, you should be able to figure out what happened in the story that caused that outcome.
Elijah’s goal was to gain Klaus redemption, and that is what he received. I think their relationship is one of the most important in the show, especially the way they develop as brothers. The way they develop tells us a lot in the cinematography.
Tumblr media
Here, as you can see, they begin very far apart from each other, but as the seasons go by, they become closer until they are finally able to hold each other to show their love.
The Originals is a very character driven story. Klaus’ actions initiate another problem, which initiate another problem and so on. Without him, the story doesn’t go on. Everything revolves around who he is and what he does. Klaus’ inner conflict has a good way of being external. What Klaus feels about himself gets addressed through his anger and his actions. One thing about Klaus’ character is that he never used his abuse or his neglect of his father as the reason to justify his evil to other people. It was always because “He’s a hybrid. I can’t be killed.” or “I am Klaus Mikaelson!” People saw his high power because of his status, not because of what he went through.
When Cami admitted to him that it’s because of his past or because of his siblings, he always denied it and even though we all know that it’s because of that from what we see on screen, Klaus doesn’t see that. He is in heavy denial. I think that’s an important factor to his character because a lot of villains are like “Oh yeah, I’m like this because of you.” They use exposition to justify who they are, while Klaus is trying to run away from his problems and make himself a ruler because if he daggers everyone, then he doesn’t have to face why he’s lonely or why he’s angry.  Klaus’ emotions weren’t just there to just show his character and who he was, but his emotions moved the story forward. His anger or his grief added a scene or created a different plot, which added consequences, and these consequences pushed change in his character or someone else around him.
One detail about Klaus redemption I’ve recognized is him showing affection. I don’t mean having sex with different women, I mean the kind of affection that shows your vulnerability. I’ve never seen Klaus sleep the entire show unless he was daggered or spelled or hurt. There’s one scene where Klaus sleeps for the first time and it’s next to Cami. Cami is the character he really exposes his vulnerability to. I think that is a really well written quality in his character. I truly believe Cami is the character in Klaus’ life that he really loves, really fell in love with and accepted. Now, I’m not saying he didn’t love Caroline. I think he does love Caroline, but his love for Caroline is completely different than his love for Cami. I think Caroline allows Klaus to love her and Cami - being the psychologist that she is - opens up Klaus to his feelings. Cami instigates Klaus to love. She tells Klaus to not be afraid of taking in love - that he’s deserving of it, and I think that’s one of the big things that draw him towards her. She was brave enough to push him - to make him see that he’s worthy of people. Cami is also one of the only people that Klaus has held hands with, besides Hope. Which is another vulnerable affection moment besides sleeping.
Klaus is one of the villains that knows his limits and even with his actions, he somehow cares for others more than he thinks. He portrays himself as someone with no capability for redemption, but the thing is, he’s been trying to redeem himself since the beginning of his time. And that’s another well written factor about his character. To reach your end goal, you need to be able to introduce that goal from the start.  One example is Klaus saving Marcel from slavery. Or when Hayley was hitting him and said fight me and he didn’t want to hit his baby’s mom. Or saving Detective Will Kinney from suicide.
It’s really well written how The Originals “showed but never told” that the reason Klaus constantly made sure Rebekah never fell in love with anyone was because he wanted her for himself. Because if she fell in love and left then he would be alone and he wanted his siblings with him all the time. Which is why he also always kept them in coffins next to him. So they’re always with him even when they’re not. He also daggered them because when he saw a flaw in them that didn’t match his perception of how he saw him, it was just easier to just stab them than face his problems. Which is also why Klaus made hybrids for himself. He said he was making a hybrid army to keep himself safe, which didn’t make sense because he’s stronger than all of them, but it was also because he didn’t want to be alone. I think the writers did a great job in showing that in his character.
The story’s parallels display really well in Klaus’ redemption. When Klaus first became a hybrid and began turning, his father always saw him as an abomination. As someone who wasn’t worthy of being comforted during his transformations. When Hope had her first transformation, Klaus made sure that Hope wasn’t alone. He made sure that she was worthy of being a hybrid and that he was proud of her for it.

The “How Caroline would have been in Season 1 of The Originals” breakdown that a few people asked me to do.
First go read the breakdown I wrote about how Caroline joined TO!. Caroline is not in the first half of TO because she is dealing with all the stuff in TVD that would eventually lead to her coming to TO!
Buckle up, cuz this is LONG and it only covers Season 1.
Most importantly.NO MAGIC BABY.
Klaus comes to NOLA because he learns his adoptive son Marcel is still alive. He sees Marcel running NOLA as a king and feels betrayed that Marcel let him believe that he has been dead for a century. Marcel is less than welcoming to Klaus, believing that Klaus left him to die back in the day. Klaus starts a war, edged on by the witches, who cannot practice magic.
Jane-Ann D. is still alive. (no baby, no need to do the spell that got her killed) Klaus makes a deal with them to take down Marcel. War breaks out. Sophie and Jane-Ann are trying to get Monique back through Davina by completing the Harvest. Plus, Klaus always had a thing for witches back in the TVD (remember Greta and Maddox?) so they develop an alliance.
The Davina storyline is pretty much the same. Hidden in the attic. Klaus daggers Elijah….
Rebekah comes to town to find Elijah just like in the show.
Hayley comes to town because she learned that her parents were part of the NOLA pack- that Tyler small storyline happens here but with Hayley instead. Klaus crushes her for the betrayal back in TVD that lead to 12 Hybrids being captive. He has Sophie and Jane-Ann curse Hayley to be a wolf every day except on the night of the full moon; like the rest of the pack.
Cami is a character, but Marcel is in love with her, so Klaus uses her as a pawn, toying with Marcel. Literally, I imagine Klaus keeping Cami as a prisoner or something; more or less with compulsion and not actually held captive in a dungeon. Not in the, forget me unless you see me way, but kill yourself if Marcel or Father Kiernan step out of line kind of compulsion. Cami does try and see the goodness in Klaus and developed a stock-holm syndrome type deal with him. This also leads Klaus to holding the human faction by the throat because Father Kiernan, Cami’s uncle, is head of it.
The whole romance drama between Rebekah and Marcel happens and that leads to them trying to overthrow Klaus and it all comes to head with Klaus taking back NOLA.
Now, this is where Caroline comes in.
Remember when Klaus goes to MF to see Katherine die? Yeah, instead it was because he learned that Caroline turned her humanity off. He goes and an emotionless Caroline comes back with him.
Caroline comes to town and really does not give two shits about anything. She kills who she wants and when she wants. She is a GIANT bitch to Rebekah (who Klaus has not forgiven for siding with Marcel). Elijah tries to get her emotions to turn back on, by telling her of his relationship with Celeste and that whole affair, Caroline does not care. Klaus actually enjoys Caroline this way and teaches her to embrace this part.
Caroline tries to seduce Klaus, but he says he won’t have sex with her again until her emotions are back on.
Cami is a prisoner of Klaus’s and Caroline likes to toy with her. Cami tries to psychoanalyze Caroline. Caroline does not give a shit and basically toys with Cami just to prove to her that Klaus can’t be fixed. Davina is helping Cami fight the compulsion that Klaus has her under.
All the while Klaus and emotionless Caroline are still having this dance of will they or wont they?-but with murder and chaos.
The Harvest takes place and Monique rises from the dead; continuing on with Sophie and Jane-Ann’s storyline.
Monique does not kill Sophie, but instead Jane-Anne; her mother. This sends Sophie into a depression. No. I don’t kill Sophie.
Then Genevieve comes to town.
Does Klaus have sex with Genevieve? Yes. But here is the kicker, Caroline doesn’t care. She actually then has sex with Genevieve herself, while Klaus watches. They use Genevieve as another layer for their twisted dance of whether or not they will give in to one another.
But Klaus wants Caroline’s emotions on first.
Now, the storyline that we learn about Rebekah and Marcel summoning Mikael and Klaus loses his shit in the graveyard? Still all happens with one change. Remember how I said Rebekah and Caroline hate each other- that comes to terms here. Elijah is the angel on Klaus’s shoulder telling him to spare his sister while Caroline is telling him to kill her. Emotionless remember.
Klaus doesn’t kill Rebekah but does set her free. Klaus then puts Marcel in The Garden; unable to forgive him for this betrayal.
Elijah asks Caroline why she would push Klaus towards killing his sister and she tells him that it’s because she doesn’t want to feel something for Klaus; thus her emotions turn back on. It would be easier if he hated her.
Ladies and gentlemen, Caroline is slowly starting to feel something….but it’s like dimmed.
The Francesca, werewolf, storyline is still going on in the background.
Elijah and Celeste are a bigger story here. I imagine that instead of him falling for Hayley, we dive more into this relationship throughout the series.
Caroline and Sophie bond over their shared pain. Sophie slowly becomes the first real friend Caroline starts making in NOLA outside of Klaus. Sophie starts practicing magic more than she had previously (remember prior to the Harvest, Sophie really didn’t use magic)
Shortly after this, Father Kieran dies much like in the show. Caroline is present for it and Cami believes that Caroline killed him. She didn’t actually do this, but Cami is convinced. They have the funeral and Caroline is with Klaus much like in the show. Elijah brings Cami to the funeral and she watches Klaus and Caroline, walk arm and arm down the street. Between believing that Caroline killed her uncle and her feelings for Klaus, Cami is enraged.
Cami goes to Davina and they both make a deal with Geneviève. Cami helps Genevieve retrieve the final white oak stake from Klaus’s possession, thinking that it will lead to only Caroline’s death.
Genevieve came back from the dead because Mama Original on The Other Side wants to kill her children. Surprise Surprise.  Because remember, no magical baby. Genevieve preforms a ritual during the full moon, one written by Esther on the Other Side, to kill an Original.
During the ritual, Caroline is forced to watch as Klaus is slowly being killed. However, it’s not Marcel who saves the day in (he is in the Garden remember), but it’s actually Hayley. It’s a full moon, so she is in her human form. She hears that something is going down and saves Klaus by killing Genevieve and Monique and the third harvest witch. This also causes Celeste’s spirit to vanish. Elijah torn apart by Celest’s betrayal.
Hayley wants to make a deal to be human again, Klaus agrees to help the werewolves, but conveniently leaves her out of the deal.
Caroline’s emotions are turned on full force and when she realizes that it’s because she didn’t want Klaus to die. She has real feelings for him, which she knew about but with her grief she couldn’t focus on it. There is a scene where Caroline breaks down in Klaus’s arms over everything.
Davin is angry that the plot with Genevieve did not work, come up with plan B. She joins forces with Francesca. Making good on the deal he made with Hayley, Klaus agrees to create moonlight rings. Since Davina is a harvest witches and Sophie is still in the middle of a depressive episode, she do it; which backfires on him. Klaus is weakened by the moonlight rings.
Caroline is furious at what happened and blames Cami (it was her fault that they had the white oak stake in the first place). Caroline says that since Cami’s uncle is dead and Marcel is in the garden, Cami has been rendered useless and kills her. No, Cami coming back as a vampire….she just dies.
Which in turn angers Davina who built a friendship with Cami and wants Marcel out of the Garden.
Klaus is weakened by the moonlight rings. Caroline, who has full range of her emotions, calls Rebekah to tell her what happened. Caroline apologizes for being a giant bitch to her. While nothing is perfect, the two come to an understanding.
The season ends with the werewolves in power, Klaus weakened, Elijah mourning Celeste (again), Caroline finally grieving her mom and everything she has done, Sophie grieving over the loss of Monique and Jane-Ann, Davina pissed off because Marcel is in the Garden and Cami is dead, Hayley is still a werewolf full time, only human during the full moon, Marcel is in the Garden and Rebekah is still not in town.

Do you have some headcanons for in a perfect world where the Hope lives with all her family? You’re Hope School fic was So Cute and I love it a lot, so I was wondering....
Yes I do, it was kind of background world building for that fic actually!
So let’s say that in that in a perfect world, nobody dies and everyone is happy...
Klaus, Elijah, Hayley, Cami and of course Hope all live in the compound. Hayley and Elijah are together, as are Klaus and Camille (but secretly they are all in love with each other yay polyamorous family). The time jump of s4-s5 never happens, or is at least much shorter, so Hope is still around seven.
Hope goes to a normal elementary school with normal children and a nice but a bit naïve teacher called Sarah, and after school she goes home and spends time with her Mom and Dad and Uncle and Cami. Uncle Elijah is teaching her piano, and Dad has build an easel in his atelier just for her. She even has her own brushes and everything! Once in a while, or at least once per week, she practices her magic with Aunt Freya or Uncle Kol.
Freya lives together with Keelin in New Orleans. Since the ancestors have been destroyed, she is rebuilding the witch community with Vincent, based on less traditional values. Turned out that many of the witches were ready to start anew.
Rebekah and Marcel are travelling the world together. Like his surrogate Dad, Marcel has finally learned that there is more to life than being the ‘King of the City‘, and Rebekah has learned that being human isn’t that great. They send a lot of pictures and cards, and call often, and Marcel promises Hope to teach her more interesting songs than her Uncle’s stuffy classical music (”At that time, they were ‘hip‘ and ‘groovy‘, Marcellus“).
Kol and Davina get married. And maybe Kol takes the cure. I’m not sure about that part because I have blanked out the s5 loopholes with the cure/the white oak stake. If there is a cure, Kol takes it. He can grow old with Davina, be a witch again, and be much happier than he ever was as a vampire. Davina has lost her magic when she was resurrected, but is fine with it. She is young, goes to college, and will probably join Freya and Vincent at one point.
Of course there are still threats to the family. They are still the Originals after all, and Hope is a tribid and attracts enemies interested in abusing her powers all by her self.
But for most of the time, they live in peace, watch Disney movies together (Klaus loves singing ‘be prepared‘), and are just a big happy family.

So, I'm curious, what is your favourite TO episode? If you are able to make a choice ;)
Oh, oh! This is one ‘favorites’ question I have no problem answering.
My favorite episode is and has always been the season 1 finale, “From a Cradle to a Grave.” Honestly, I think this is where the show peaked in its writing. I was on the edge of my seat the entire episode, just loving the excitement, the tension, the themes, and all the narrative threads coming together in one culminating, sweeping episode.
This episode is everything I love about the show. Murder, mayhem, and family :) But seriously! (Omg am I going to have to do a blow-by-blow of the episode? I think I might.)
In that case, the rest goes under a cut. (Spoilers for TO ahead!)
The episode begins with Hayley giving birth, induced by the witches who betrayed Klaus. It’s in the church, that unholy horror of a murder museum.
Intercut with the rose-tinted flashback of pregnant Hayley and Klaus feeling their baby kick, Hayley gives birth as her voiceover promises a safe home and family to “Zoe…or Caitlyn, or Angela.”
*irony* but it hurts.
Klaus and Hayley are, for once, united in the fight for their child. They’ve been at each others’ throats all season, and in the past neither have had trouble getting their way. But in this crucial hour neither the Original hybrid or the uncontrollable mama wolf can do anything.
Can I say: I love love LOVE that look Klaus and Hayley share after the baby is born. Hayley asks to hold her, and they share this…look. Listen, I’m not much of a klayley shipper, but their partnership is golden. They’ve reached a tentative agreement at this point that they’re both going to play a role in raising the baby they created. The trust and pride and satisfaction between them in this moment, despite the horrid circumstances, melts me.
And then Hayley dies.
Klaus screaming NOOOOOOO is all of us in this moment.
Oh! And I almost forgot—Klaus being pinned to the wall in that Christlike pose. That was NOT an accident. It helps tie in to the larger theme they’re going for, that Elijah expounds for us later. He’s not a sinless, perfect Christ figure—in fact, he’s the opposite. He’s the monster under the bed, the devil in the night. One might even go so far as to say he’s the symbol for everyone to pin their problems to. The ultimate scapegoat. Not to say he didn’t exert some effort of his own to get there—this is the price he has to pay for his sins. Crucified, figuratively, forced to watch helpless as his newborn daughter is taken from him and her mother slaughtered.
Then Elijah bursts in. (Bless Daniel Gillies’s funky lil run, it gives me joy in the bleakest of times)
And this, oh goodness, this quiet grief they share over Hayley. Klaus has held her body since he woke up, I’m guessing, this woman who carried his child, chafed against every controlling measure he tried to impose on her, whom he holds some degree of respect and fondness for.
And Elijah, dear Elijah. He pinned all his hopes (hee) to this woman, this werewolf Madonna and her child. He gave her more space in his heart than he’d given anyone, including women who’d haunted him for centuries. And now she’s dead, just like anyone who’s had the misfortune of sparking his affections.
Klaus healing Elijah—HEY REMEMBER EARLY IN THE SEASON WHEN KLAUS BIT ELIJAH AND LEFT HIM TO SUFFER?! Now, Klaus offers his blood without compunction, without hesitation. This time it’s Elijah who hesistates. You have to wonder, is he deliberating which nightmare he would prefer—the torture of wolf venom, or the torture of Hayley’s death and her baby’s disappearance?
“You were bested? My invincible brother?”
Klaus doesn’t rise to the bait like he normally would. He barely reacts. He’s broken. He wanted too much—he played king and gained the whole world, but lost his soul. And then his kingdom.
You see why I love this episode?
We move to the graveyard, where we see not only Klaus and Elijah trapped in a maze, but the witches preparing for a sacrifice. Let’s not gloss over their costume change, either—in the church, for the birth, they were all clad in black. But here, as they prepare for their worst atrocity yet, infanticide, they wear pure white, like they’re going to a christening or something. *irony*
Then comes *the speech* from Elijah, the one that mirrors the pilot so perfectly (I know them both by heart, thank you very much.) In the pilot, Elijah’s speech is rousing, patient, and encouraging. Here, he has lost his patience. Here, he tells us what we’ve been seeing throughout the entire season.
“This is the world you created, Niklaus. All your scheming, the enemies you have made every day do your miserable life—what results did you expect? That your child would be born into a happy life? That the mother would be alive, to know her daughter? That we could live and thrive as some sort of family?”
“That was your fantasy, brother, not mine—”
“No, brother! This was our hope. This was our family’s hope. And now she is gone.” (And then we realize that he’s not just mourning the baby, that family he imagined—he mourns Hayley.) “Do you understand? I let this person in. I let her in. I don’t let people in.”
And Klaus’s reaction! This Klaus, with compassion he deserves only for his closest family—this is the Klaus that melts me. This is the scene that slaps. This is how we tie a bow on a season—nay, a millennium—of brotherly tension. They’re not healed; nothing could truly heal the damage they’ve done to each other (or the damage others have wrought on them) but it’s a start.
And Hayley wakes.
Before I go on, let me mention Marcel. Ally, enemy, friend, surrogate son to Klaus (and that could be all in one episode!) He’s destined for death by hybrid venom, having led his vampires into a massacre. All his attempts to rally his people have failed. He’s lost the city, and his vampires have been slaughtered by Guerrera werewolves. He has almost nothing left.
He goes out, armed to forcibly obtain Klaus’s blood and heal his friends—but he upon finding Klaus he makes very on-brand choice. He saves the baby.
He does what the combined efforts of Klaus, Hayley, and Elijah can’t. He wins Klaus’s trust back by saving his newborn daughter. He protects the innocent instead of contributing to the feud. He murders the girl he once tried to save from the Harvest. And he gets to meet his baby sister.
It’s strategy and heart all in one. It’s very Marcel.
He reconciles with Klaus, and Klaus heals him. They are healed—to some degree.
Then Klaus gets to hold his child for the first time, and we all die.
This is what the season has been building up to. Yes, it’s been building to Klaus being toppled off his throne, yes it’s been building to the splintering of his ego, but THIS is what we’ve been promised since the beginning—before the beginning of the show, even. The Original hybrid, brought to his knees by this child. His child. Someone he loves without reservation. Someone who doesn’t fear him. Someone innocent, who carries none of the burdens of their family. Someone who inspires hope in the hopeless. Someone he would kill for, or die for. (he does both)
And I can’t, I just can’t with them. I love the way JoMo handles the baby in this episode—very gingerly, a little awkwardly. It’s probably been a long time since Klaus has handled a baby (one that he hasn’t eaten D: ) and it’s just. so. endearing.
Meanwhile, Davina has…brought Mikael the destroyer back to life? I remember reading somewhere that Josh was supposed to die in this episode, and while I wouldn’t dare wish to deprive Josh of the happiness (and subsequent heartbreak) awaiting him in s2 and beyond, I think Davina’s motivations would’ve made more sense here if she were seeking to avenge her friend’s death. But I digress. Davina resurrects Mikael. Oh dear.
I haven’t mentioned Genevieve yet! She is one of my favorite antagonists. At first, she seemed to come out of nowhere, and I suspect she might have stepped into the narrative hole that was originally filled by Sophie Deveraux, but regardless I like her conflict. A witch cheated out of life (by an Original, no less!) and coerced to murder by her coven, living and dead. An apologetic killer. Yikes.
Klaus and Elijah then discuss how to protect the baby (and I swear in the opening shot it looks like they’re holding hands—but alas, it’s just a trick of the camera angle.) and Hayley helps them determine that they need to send her away. And let me say, Phoebe Tonkin impressed me more with her acting in seasons 2-3, but she hurts me here too. Ouch.
We get a few expository scenes—Francesca spins the werewolf attack into a gang war (she’s not wrong), Marcel makes a deal, Oliver is still an arrogant brat, and Davina plans to keep Mikael as her secret weapon (you poor child).
Then we get the most painful scenes in the episode, because even though we know this tragedy is a lie, it’s still a loss. The baby did not die, but their pain over losing her is real. Elijah says as much: “grief, after all, is grief.”
Klaus and Cami share a scene, and this is one of my favorites of them. Klaus admits that he finds her…beautiful. And for that reason, she should stay away from him. Whether you read this as romantic or not, it’s still so good. This is a woman Klaus pinpointed as being useful, intelligent, insightful, and strong enough to handle his psyche. They began with a rather twisted relationship (let’s save that essay on autonomy for another day, shall we?) but by the end of the season they’ve shared some experiences and gained more sympathy and respect for each other. And Klaus, in his moment of clarity and grief, recognizes that he is fundamentally not what she needs. (Or we could say this is all part of the lie. We’ll never know.)
Also, let me give a shoutout to the music in this episode! The two songs that play toward the end, Open Hands and Shallows are stellar. Speaking of the end! Let’s get into the biggest surprise this episode has for us.
“In what world will she be safe without her father? Who can protect her better than we?”
“There is one person.”
Rebekah. The thousand-year-old beauty queen I honestly thought we’d never see again after her exit in episode 16. The Original sister, the girl who loved too easily, who broke her brother’s heart and incurred his wrath. Who left to live her own life, who only could leave after her favorite brother set her free. Who always wanted what she couldn’t have, a family of her own.
And here she is, smiling at Klaus even though last time they screamed themselves hoarse in a graveyard and he put an enchanted stake through her chest, inches from her heart. She loves and hates him in equal measure, but she has nothing but love for this newborn baby. It’s a peace offering and the ultimate gesture of faith. Klaus could not trust anyone else in the world with his daughter, but he will hand her over to his beloved sister. It is the PERFECT way to end the season, especially with their parting words. Rebekah wants to know the baby’s name.
“Hope. Her name is Hope.”
They’ve been planning this gimmick from day ONE, I’m telling you. Ever since the pilot, when Elijah asks, “who’s more pathetic—the man who sees hope to make his family whole again? Or the coward who only sees the world through his own fear?” And I don’t care how cliche and gimmicky it is—if I did, I wouldn’t be watching this CW show. It’s perfect. This is what the baby means. She is the hope for this broken, broken family. She’s no savior—she doesn’t have to do anything but exist. But she reminds these siblings who, after a thousand years of bloodshed and fighting, are “the definition of cursed—always and forever,” that they can be better. They don’t have to remain the shells of who they were. They can pick up the pieces and begin a new chapter.
And that’s what this episode does for me, folks. It’s honestly too much to handle. I cannot watch this episode like a normal person—I writhe and scream and laugh maniacally and recite the lines. It’s a trip.
This episode concludes the season so strongly. It’s actually a major part of why I rank season 1 as my favorite! I did an official ranking of all 5 TO seasons a while back, which was a lot of fun.

If you were to rewrite Jackson, would you still implement the love triangle? If so, would you make it more of an unrequited love or would you truly explore Jayley? If not, what type of role would you have him play?
TGW outtake suggestion:
In chapter 30 (I think) it mentioned Elijah never called Hayley for her birthday, and knowing Elijah, he’d probably feel guilty about this. So I’m thinking this could start from the dinner Hayley, Elijah, and astra we’re having together and at the end of the dinner, Elijah pulls astra aside and tells her that he wants to plan this whole day out as a surprise to celebrate her birthday. Then the next day could be them doing all sorts of activities and Elijah giving her some sort of expensive gift or something.
That explanation sucked, basically just Elijah plans a day to celebrate Hayley’s birthday because he feels guilty that he missed it.
If I was the writer from the beginning, I would have gotten rid of any love triangles. I've said it before, I don't like them. They are unnecessarily messy. Especially in a show like TO where the plot is so heavy. It worked better in TVD because the show centered more around the relationships. Most of the enemies were part of the romantic drama. But TO was focused on family and the enemies were typically after power or revenge. There wasn't time for messy relationship drama. I would have preferred for the show to have established relationships that could have been partners/supported each other throughout the show.
I've loved Nathan Parsons since before TO even existed so I was so excited to see him in TO. Fun fact, he was one of my first male crushes. I was then super disappointed to see his character be so underutilized and underdeveloped. I would have introduced him as alpha of the pack without the arranged marriage. I know many cultures have arranged marriages and that is great as long as everyone wants it. Hayley was not comfortable with it and said it multiple times. I hated that the show just kept going down that path and introduced the arranged marriage again in season 2 just under a different name, the "unification." If I was in charge, the women would have much more autonomy in the show.
I would have kept the warring family idea and even had Jackson be warry of Hayley's sudden appearance. This girl who is supposedly the long-lost "princess" of the pack shows up, pregnant by their enemies, and living with the Mikaelsons. Hayley would have had to earn his respect as well as the packs, but once she did, he would teach her the pack's history. I would also make him a better alpha. I don't think I would make him more politically minded because I would have played more into the fact that he has spent his entire adult life as a wolf because of the curse. He would have leaned on Hayley who naturally seemed to know how to make allies with the other factions. Instead of a marriage to fix the rift in the pack, Jackson and Hayley would have created a bond based on mutual respect and love for the pack. They would have introduced the idea of co-alphas without needing it to be romantic or sexual.
I hate when shows can't allow opposite gender individuals to just work together without it being romantic or sexual. I love a good friendship. That is one of my biggest complaints about TVDU. It created such great friendships but instead of developing them, it focused on the romantic drama. The friendships/found families in New Orleans were what was going to save it from war. You have Marcel and Davina, Vincent and Cami, Cami and Marcel, Vincent and Freya, etc. These bonds that transcended the factions was what saved them over and over. But the wolves are left out of that since, after Jackson died Hayley basically forgot about the pack. They could have done it with Eve, but she died to early. It would have been nice to see Jackson forming those bonds with the other factions, starting with Hayley.
I wouldn't do an unrequited love storyline. These always just make me sad. I know it happens in real life but that's why I love fiction, I don't need to add any unnecessary pain that way (I know that's ironic coming from me). If I did explore Jayley, I would have actually shown them developing feelings for each other. Show Hayley being torn between her feelings. And then shown that even if you love someone and try to make it work, for various reasons, it may not. This doesn't mean it was bad or one of the partners was "evil." In real life, relationships don't work out, it doesn't make the relationship any less important or impactful.
I truly do think Jackson deserved better from the writers. This is why *spoilers for my story, The Great War* I had jayley end the way they did. It was on Jackson's terms. I know some people thought it was out of character, and maybe it was for the show, but that's the point. Jackson is supposed to be a strong leader, yet he couldn't stand up for himself in the show. He gave Hayley ultimatums instead of setting boundaries and then just left when it got hard. They needed to have a real conversation. So in my story, when they did have this real conversation, they realized they were never going to get what they wanted out of the relationship. Jackson deserved to be able to set his boundaries and get away from the Mikaelsons. He deserved to have a love that isn't forced or manipulated. It's why I didn't kill him. I hated that so many characters were sacrificed just to push certain ships or push the Mikaelson story forward (RIP Gia).
I have already written an outtake for chapter 30 but I do love this idea. And y'all know I love writing haylijah. I'm not sure when I'll get it done but I will definitely write this!
Thanks for the ask and the suggestion!

Chapter Summary: Finn makes his play against his siblings and leaves the ultimate punishment for Maleny: her biggest fear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"It has been said that all love begins and ends with she who gave us life. A thousand years ago, my mother turned us into monsters, yet still she claimed to love her children, even as she vowed to destroy us. The noble Elijah, tormented by long-buried, shameful secrets. Kol, the wiley troublemaker, out for no one but himself. Finn, the devoted acolyte, his love all too easily walked by our mother's sick hate. Fierce Rebekah, willing to risk everything on the chance that she may one day find happiness. And me, the bastard child. My mother's greatest shame. Now, finally, we have defeated her, giving her the choice she never thought to give us, to live on as one of the monsters she created or suffer the slow, agonizing death she so deserves."
All in the meanwhile Klaus had been talking to Maleny, the blonde had been pouring some drinks into glasses, leaving him to give his common heartfelt speeches. She remembered it was one of his favorite things to do in the past, whether he wanted to admit it or not. After a win (although bittersweet) Maleny figured he deserved that much.
She turned around with a smirk, "You know, any other person would tell you you're an awful person for what you did to Esther…" she started walking back to him, the man leaning against the back of a couch, "...but she had it well deserved. So congrats," she held him his glass.
"That's all I get?" Klaus took his glass and gave her a sharp look, "Congrats?"
Maleny tilted her head, her smirk fading only slightly, "Oh? Like what? And I'd watch your answer because this," she pointed between them, "has only had 3 days so anything beyond a kiss is unlikely to happen."
"I was merely going to ask for a kiss but you apparently think so little of me," Klaus leaned off the couch and started for the threshold of the living room, when Maleny grabbed his arm, of course guilty now she'd judged him.
"Sorry, sorry," she apologetically smiled as he turned back to her, "I didn't mean to come off like that. Understand me a little, please. I'm not sure how to...deal with this thing for us - I don't want it to be different but of course it's going to be different and…" she was cut off by Klaus' sudden kiss.
"Do you know I'd actually forgotten how fun it was to watch you freak out?" Klaus asked afterwards, with his smirk letting Maleny see how he'd basically played her.
"You jerk," she hit his arm, and while he laughed she drank from her glass.
He snatched her by the waist, "Only the worst," he complemented himself, "But you already knew that..."
"Of course I do," Maleny feigned a sigh as she looked to the side, "I knew since we were kids you were a little mischievous devil. Buuuut..." she swayed her head until her eyes landed on his, "...I guess you were always my mischievous devil."
"Hey," Hayley cut into their moment with her call. They both turned to see the brunette hybrid coming into the living room, "So, has there been a plan devised?"
Confused, Maleny came forwards, "Hold on, I thought you were supposed to stay back with Elijah at the safe house…"
Hayley gave a wide grin and took Maleny's glass, "I did something better," she said and drank down the remainder of the bourbon.
"Hayley, this is no time for games," Klaus frowned and walked over to the woman as well.
"Calm down, it was nothing bad," Hayley dismissed his irritation, "So then, plan?"
"There isn't one yet," Maleny finally said, choosing to trust Hayley's decisions, "And the only one we did have Amarrah doesn't want to follow," she added with a huff. They'd tried to make Amarrah leave the Quarter for a while until things died down with Finn but the witch outright refused. She claimed there was no way she was going to let Finn Mikaelson get away with almost murder. She wanted payback, and payback she would get - she promised.

In the Lycee, Finn used a hammer to break a skull into pieces. Behind him was his father, Mikael, watching him create a spell.
"She tried to show them mercy," Finn was angrily saying in regards to his missing mother, "If they've harmed her…"
Mikael scoffed and interrupted him, "Esther's mistake was believing there was anything left in your siblings to save," he moved up to Finn, "Together, my son, we can finally destroy them."
Finn was no fool to believe Mikael was suddenly so willingly on their side, but he played along as if he did believe, " Yeah. I'm happy to hear you say this, Father. Such a powerful man. I could use your strength."
There was a clearing of throat by the entrance of the Lycee, and both men turned to see a young woman fidgeting on the spot, "The wolves...they're um, they're gathered at the cemetery," she jerked a thumb behind her shoulder, "At the gravestone you asked for..."
Finn's anger died down slightly at the news, "Excellent, tell them to dig it up. Now."
The woman was visibly confused and made the mistake of asking, "Why?"
"You don't ask 'why' to my orders, you follow them," Finn snapped, angering the woman but this time she kept her mouth shut, "Don't make me repeat myself, Yamilet, dig it up."
The woman, Yamilet, nodded, "And then what?" she preferred not to ask anymore questions but she didn't want to have to talk to him again later on.
"Take the body deep into the bayou," Finn instructed with a deep, annoyed sigh. This is what happened when Aiden resigned his leadership for the wolves of the witches. Finn had to go and name another leader instead and unfortunately that one seemed like an even bigger idiot. "The others know what to do, then," he motioned for Yamilet to leave and with a nod she turned away.
Finn then turned back to his ongoing spell and continued working on it, feeling far more confident in his future plans. Revenge would never taste so sweet.

Cami drove up to the Mikaelsons' safe house and looked around the solitary house (or so she thought). She checked the directions Hayley had given her earlier just to see if she'd made a mistake somewhere along the way. Why would Hayley send her to an abandoned house? Or worse, a stranger's house. She stepped out of the car and looked around, focusing in noises and scents she could get a read on.
Eventually, she got a read on two very familiar people and hurried for the front door. She would've came right in but she figured that would only cause tension. Instead, she opted for the polite knock.
A couple minutes passed and no one opened up. With a sigh, Cami turned away from the door and looked about, "I'm gonna kill Hayley for this," she muttered under her breath and made way for the car again. She was only a couple feet away from the car when she heard her name being called.
"Cami, what are you doing here?" Elijah had appeared at the doorway holding a sleepy Hope in arms.
Cami turned around and saw him, momentarily fazed by the baby she hadn't seen in quite a while. She shook her head and took a couple steps towards them, "Honestly, I have no idea," she sighed and let her arms fall to her sides, "Hayley came back to the compound early in the morning and said Klaus wanted me here for something. I just didn't know that 'something' was 'someone'. But don't worry, I'm on my way back right now," she turned for the car actually meaning her words when Elijah gave an unexpected call for her.
"You should come in," he said, surprising her momentarily, "I frankly have no idea what I'm doing…" he nodded to Hope who was slowly falling asleep on his shoulder.
Cami gave a half-smile, "Well, I'm no mother, but...I did learn a couple things from Rebekah. Are you sure you want me to stay? Because I know what you requested days ago - you didn't want me here. And know that I wouldn't have come if I knew this was the place Hayley was sending me to."
Elijah knew she was right and still felt guilty for what he'd done. However, he wasn't very repentent of it as he believed it would've been the right thing to do, "I could really use your help," he insisted again.
Cami gave in with a nod, "First thing's first, we have to put that baby to sleep…" and with that she returned to the house taking on the role of lead babysitter.

Maleny strode into Hayley's room where the hybrid and Jackson had been discussing their future mystical wedding. She had finished a rather interesting phone call with Cami and had to come and see Hayley to pay her remarks.
"You sent Cami to the safe house?" Maleny demanded with crossed arms and a tapping foot, "You savage!"
Hayley smirked and glanced at the blonde, "I told you it was good."
Maleny sighed, "She's gonna kill you for this, I hope you know," her eyes flickered over to Jackson and immediately composed herself, "So you're going to marry my friend here? I have to warn you, her moodswings are horrible. I mean, I thought they were just because she was pregnant but it turns out Hayley's just naturally moody."
"Uh…" Jackson nervously looked at Hayley.
"Hey!" Hayley hissed and made Maleny laugh, "They're not," she assured Jackson, "I don't even have mood swings."
"Liiiiies," Maleny sing-songed from her place, "But listen, while I did come in for Cami's sake, I'm the messenger of the people downstairs."
"People downstairs?" Jackson repeated and once again looked at Hayley.
"I may have done a thing," Hayley raised a finger and stood up from her chair.
"She does a lot of things, fair warning," Maleny said to Jackson as Hayley walked past her.
"Mal, shut up," Hayley called from outside, "And go get Klaus."
"The messenger job continues," Maleny swayed her head in annoyance and turned to leave. She rushed over to go find the other hybrid, eventually after coming short in two rooms finding him with Kol - who was now staying with them apparently.
"Of course you two are drinking," Maleny rolled her eyes at the two brothers happily drinking some sort of wine, "Kol, are you even old enough now?"
Kol rolled his eyes while Klaus snickered, "Gee, Mal, like I haven't heard that one before."
"Give me time, I can come up with something better, I promise," Maleny came futher into the room and looked at Klaus, "You should go downstairs - Hayley's brought in vampires and the wolves and I fear for war, honestly."
"What's she done that for?" Klaus frowned at the news. There were so many things to begin doing and Hayley was wasting time with community meetings?
"I don't know but even Marcel's downstairs," Maleny pointed back, "I think it's something big."
The bottle Kol held in his hand suddenly shattered and spilled the wine all over the floor. Everyone looked around for the source of the shatterer to see Finn at the doorway.
"Where is she?" the man demanded, getting straight to the point.
"Well that's a way to greet someone," Maleny made a face and moved back to the other siblings.
"My, my, you look peaky," smirked Klaus who then looked at his younger brother, "Doesn't he look peaky?"
Kol agreed with a sarcastic smile, "He does look peaky."
Maleny rolled her eyes and whacked each brother on the arms, "Enough of the sarcasm," she scolded only to receive scoffs from both of them, "Did I say something funny?" she glared at each of them.
Finn was in no mood to withstand such a spectacle, "Don't make me ask again," he warned, "Where is she?"
"Well, I assume you're referring to our mother. Fear not, she's tucked away somewhere perfectly safe," Klaus promised with a wide grin, "You'll never find her."
"You think you've won," Finn shook his head and opened his arms, "Let's see how long that arrogance lasts, brothers. You'll both fall," he promised and backtracked but not before adding, "And you," he looked to Maleny, "I have something good planned for you."
Maleny swallowed down a lump in her throat and tried to remain at ease of the threat. Finn looked so sure of his threat Maleny could almost believe in it. As Finn got to leaving, Klaus slid an arm around Maleny, resting his hand on her back, knowing she'd been left shaken. It had been his concern that Finn would take leverage against him or anyone else by using the weakest - Maleny.

Down in the courtyard, Hayley was still trying to find a common ground between her wolves and the vampires, "You wolves are here because you want freedom. And, I promise you, if you stay, you will be free. But…" she glanced over to Marcel and his vampires, "We need as much help as we can get."
"My vamps and I are willing to stand with you against the witches," Marcel assured, "In return, all I want is a promise that there will be peace between our sides after the wedding."
One of the wolves, Jared, spoke up in outrage, "You're the one who spent the last one hundred years killing and cursing us!"
"Which means you might wanna listen to what I have to say," Marcel snapped.
Finn was coming down the stairs around that time and of course had to interrupt, "I see you're brokering a truce between mongrels and parasites! And just how long do you think that's really going to last? A month? A week? A day?" he laughed, "What you don't yet seem to understand is that the only thing that can exist between your two degenerate species is hatred, war, and death," he backed away towards the exit.
He stopped just outside the border of the compound before rubbing his fingers together and cast a spell. As soon as he put his hand against the doorway of the entrance. When the building stopped shaking, Gia was the first to try to get him only to come crashing into an invisible barrier that started to burn her hands as if she wore no daylight ring.
Finn now wore a clean smirk across his lips, "But, I imagine, given a little time confined together, you'll come to see things the way I do," he gave a wicked wave before leaving the place.

Upstairs, Klaus tried to see if the barrier was active as well. He tried getting out through the balcony of his bedroom but felt his hand begin to burn much like Gia's had done earlier.
Kol came into the room full blown panicked, "Did he really just trap us all in here?"
"He certainly did," Klaus turned around, "Which means we have a witch problem. You're a witch. Fix it."
"I'm already calling in Amarrah," Maleny rushed into the room holding a phone in hand, just as panicked - if not more than Kol.
"And what the bloody hell are we supposed to do about this?" Kol turned to her.
Maleny lowered her phone and stalked up to him, "You don't get it, do you? If this barrier stays up for long you and I," she tapped him on the chest, "become a three course meal to those vampires downstairs," Kol's eyes widened in realization, and horror, "Get the picture now?"
"Okay, we're gonna need a lot of help," Kol glanced back to Klaus who was smiling in amusement at the teen's horror. Kol hurried out to give a call out to Davina.
"That was a bit harsh," Klaus walked up to Maleny afterwards.
"And yet, it's the truth," Maleny wasn't too happy herself about the situation, "I meant what I said. If we're stuck in here a long time you are going to be fine but I am going to become dinner for the others."
"Not on my watch, love."
"Let's remember you called me lunch and dinner during the first days we met here," Maleny pointed at him, "Don't think I'm forgetting that anytime soon."
"I meant that playfully," Klaus tried clear his throat and tried putting away his smirk.
He had not meant that playfully...and Maleny knew it.

Elijah was leaving what he believed to be the tenth voicemail to Rebekah, now Angela Baker of course, to no avail. It'd been three days since she'd been switched bodies but hadn't made any contact with anyone since. Frankly, he was getting worried and being practically imprisoned in the safe house was driving him mad.
He returned inside the house and followed noise into the kitchen where Cami was bringing down a bottle of bourbon from a shelf, "Yahtzee!" she exclaimed and glanced back with a smile, "Ah-ha-ha! If there's one thing I've learned about you people, it's that there's always a bottle of booze around. Don't worry, though, Hope is down for her nap. You want one?" she gestured as she brought down a glass for herself.
"Sounds delightful," Elijah couldn't help respond with a hint of restraint.
Cami sighed and place down her glass on the counter, "I know you're only tolerating me for Hope's sake but really if I'm bothering you that much I could always just go and compel someone to help you."
"I'm sorry," Elijah looked to the side, cursing himself for doing exactly what he'd wanted to avoid in the first place.
Cami turned around to face him completely, "Did I do something that bothered you?" she asked in plain confusion. She really did not understand why Elijah hadn't wanted her to come along with the others. She tried looking for anything she could've done to offend him or anyone else he cared for but found nothing.
"This is about me, Cami. I assure you, you haven't done anything," Elijah promised her but it wasn't enough for Cami.
"Then why do I feel like I have done something?" Cami crossed her arms, "Is this something of Esther's? What, she told you having vampire friends is also a bad thing?"
"You're not a friend," Elijah sharply corrected her, leaving her startled and frankly insulted for a minute before he continued, "You're family. I'm sorry if I've made you feel anything less."
"I don't want your apologies, I want an explanation," Cami quietly said to him and picked up her bourbon bottle and glass, "And until you can give me one, I'll be in the living room having myself a nice drink - alone."
"Cami," Elijah wearily sighed as the blonde woman hurried past him. He was seriously hating Hayley for ever thinking of doing this foul trick of hers.

Amarrah and Davina arrived to the compound at the same time after being called upon by their friends. They stopped just outside of the courtyard where they knew the barrier was active.
"Thank God you're here," Maleny hurried up to the barrier with Kol coming in seconds later.
Amarrah could see the heavy group of people inside the compound and made a face, "Yikes, would definitely not like to be in your shoes," she remarked and earned equal irritated looks from both Maleny and Kol.
"Which is why we'd like to hurry up and get out of here," Kol replied and looked to Davina, "You ready?"
Davina nodded with a smile and looked to Amarrah, "We're ready."
"Please get it right," Maleny stepped back only to be yanked forwards by Kol, "Hey!"
"No, no, love, we're gonna need all the witches on this one," he smirked at her.
Maleny looked at Amarrah who was agreeing with a nod of her head, "He's right. The more power we have the better chances we can get the barrier down."
With a sigh, Maleny stood straight and beside Kol, awaiting to start the spell with everyone else. They chanted together the spell they'd agreed on before coming together and while it seemed not to be failing, it eventually rebounded everyone away from the barrier.
"What just happened?" Maleny fearfully looked around as everyone slowly gathered back together.
Klaus and Marcel went over to check on the progress, "Are we free to go?" Klaus asked urgently.
"No," Kol shook his head, looking at his hands in confusion, "the spell's locking us out."
"Vincent must be channeling something," Amarrah reasoned with her experience, "A dark object, maybe."
Of course neither of them could ever think Finn's source of channeling was coming from his neutralized father somewhere in a crypt.

Elijah once more left a voicemail for Rebekah, deciding if after the next time he tried there was still no answer he would be calling Klaus to discuss the matters. When done he entered the living room where, as promised, Cami was having herself a nice drink while scrolling through her phone.
"Do you know you have awful WiFi connection here?" she sarcastically asked without looking up from the screen.
"Yes, which is why I thought you would prefer this?" Elijah waved a Trivial Pursuit box in hand.
Cami raised an eyebrow, "Your solution to this problem - that's your fault by the way - is for us to play...trivial games?"
"It's either that or suffer the WiFi connection," Elijah plopped down on the couch chair beside her and set the game on the coffee table, "Take your pick."
"What I'd pick is for you to come clean," Cami put her glass down on the table as well, "Is that not one of the options here?"
"I ask for time, Cami, please?" Elijah sighed, "I would hate to be stuck inside this house with no one to talk to. Please?"
Cami stared at him a good while trying to put her best angry face on. But as the seconds ticked by and he upheld her look with his soft, brown eyes, she gave in with a small sigh.
"Fine," she raised a hand, and looked away, "but you're no where near off the hook," she reached for the box and began opening it up, "So you should probably let me win," she added with a mumble, making Elijah smile of amusement.

"Okay, so maybe we can...put a stronger spell over the one already here?" Maleny was in the middle of saying to Amarrah, Davina and Kol as they all thought of ways to break down the barrier.
"That doesn't make any sense," Kol shot her down with a look of irritation.
"You know what, this isn't what I do anymore, okay?" Maleny snapped at him, used to the more calm reactions of the others in regards to low abilities in magic.
"Maybe she's not far off," Amarrah got to thinking while she paced back and forth, "We just need to come up with something more coherent."
"Great, while you do that, Mal and I will do our best not to get devoured over here," Kol huffed.
"There's still time before any of that happens," Davina tried to calm them down with logical views.
"Maybe there's something in my mother's spellbook," Maleny gasped with the idea, feeling stupid she hadn't thought of it before. She motioned she'd be back and hurried back into the courtyard, bumping into Josh who'd rather clumsily came down the stairs, "Sorry, Josh, I…"
Josh was doubled over in pain but at the fresh scent of blood he raised his head, revealing an almost vamped-out face.
"Josh…?" Maleny, though concerned, stepped back.
"All I can think about is blood!" the young vampire said in what really sounded like agonizing pain.
Maleny looked around for some help and caught a glimpse of Marcel and Gia in the dining room, "Josh, wait here," she said but the vampire was in too much pain to hear. She made way for the dining room and became alert on the fact Josh wasn't the only one who seemed to be in pain. As she walked by, she could feel the vampires' eyes setting on her as...lunch.
"Okay, we have a problem!" she burst into the dining room and slid shut the doors in terrible fear.
"What?" Marcel barely had time to turn to the blonde when Gia fell under the same situation.
"Oh!" she doubled over.
"Gia!" Marcel went over to his friend, missing the wide eyes of Maleny behind them. Soon enough, Marcel doubled over as well and felt the tremendous hunger growing within.
Slowly, Maleny leaned off the doors, her breath hitching, "I think…" of course Finn had something to do with this sudden hunger they were feeling. She quickly opened the doors of the room, "Klaus!" she called frantically.
She hadn't needed to call so loud as he was already making way for the dining room, already seeing the problem at hand, "What the hell is going on?" he demanded as he reached the dining room, "Your vampires seem to think it's lunch-time!" he accused Marcel.
"It'a Finn, it's got to be," Maleny turned him to the courtyard where they saw all the other vampires feeling the same hunger while the wolves were in complete peace, "Do you realize the massive buffet they have…" she slowly hugged herself, "...including me...and Kol."
Klaus wasted no time in getting her away from the courtyard and into his bedroom where he shut the doors, "You're no longer allowed out of this room, love."
"For once I've got nothing against that," Maleny mumbled as he went for his phone sitting on his nightstand, "What are you doing?" she inquired when he began making a call.
"Getting us out of here," he pointed at her for a silent period before speaking into the phone - to Finn.
"Klaus! Willing to concede so soon?" Finn's sarcastic tone exclaimed through the other line.
Klaus rolled his eyes, "I merely seek to negotiate. You want our mother, I want out of this bloody compound. The economics of what comes next should be easy to grasp, even for you."
"You can't give him Esther," Maleny hissed, moving to take his phone away but of course was easily handled with one arm grabbing down her two hands.
"What I want, brother, is to exterminate the plague that is your kind," Finn was busy saying over the line, "What I want is to watch the flames flicker over your smoldering corpse-"
Klaus rolled his eyes at the tedious speech he was being forced to listen to. Even Maleny had stayed put when she caught some of the words being said.
"-What I want is to hear the silence once you finally stop screaming."
In the end, his impatience won the better of himself. Klaus made a static-y noise with his mouth, "I'm sorry, we must have a bad connection. Could you repeat everything you said after "What I want?"
"Oh, I'm so happy to hear that hunger hasn't yet sapped your humor," Finn had a good laugh, 'But, I should warn you, brother, if those vampires even attempt to feed, they'll find themselves ravenous. Unable to stop. So, every moment that you waste with me will only lead you to the inevitable carnage."
"Don't you dare do it," Maleny whispered to Klaus, while locked with his arm still more than ready to put up a fight, "Don't give him E-"
"Esther for our freedom. Do we have a deal?"
"Well, I think I know better than to trust your honesty. But, yes, if I find our mother unharmed, then I might consider granting your reprieve," was Finn's response.
"Saint Roc Number 1. The Delphine tomb," Klaus finally said and promptly hung up, also releasing Maleny from his grip.
"Are you kidding me!?" she erupted into angry shouts, "After everything we went to to put that demon woman down you'll just hand her over!? What in the hell are you thinking!?"
"Your safety if you haven't noticed," Klaus was genuinely surprised he'd managed not to shout back at her, "I'd like to prevent your demise and if that's the way to do it then so be it. Besides, when Finn sees what Esther probably chose she's not going to be escaping any time soon."
Maleny calmed down slightly but still had pursed lips and crossed arms, "I still think this could've been handled differently," she murmured and headed out for the doors when Klaus yanked her back.
"Where do you think you're going?"
"I needed to get my mother's spell book for the others to see if there's anything that can help. C'mon, even you know that's a good idea."
"Doesn't mean I like it," Klaus muttered but in the end opened the doors himself, "Let's go - but you're staying upstairs afterwards."
"If nothing works, believe me, I'll be up here out of my own accord," Maleny promised him with a nervous smile.

Cami was quite ready to throw the board game out the window with each loss she endured. She read off one card to Elijah, "What three European countries begin with the letter "A?""
"Albania, Austria, Andorra," Elijah replied almost instantly.
Frustrated, she flung the card over her shoulder and read off the next one, "Agh! Okay, hey! Who was the only U.S. president to earn a Ph.D?"
Once again, Elijah answered within seconds, "The rather tedious Woodrow Wilson."
"Oh, c'mon!" Cami went for the next card, "Who rode secretariat to the triple crown in 1973?"
"Ron Turket."
Cami let the rest of the cards fall from her hands as she glared at the man, "No! I refuse to believe that you just happened to know that! You were supposed to let me win because I'm mad at you!" with her pointing she accidentally spilled Elijah's drink on the table and partly on his sleeve, "I'm sorry!" she panicked and handed him a towel to get himself cleaned up while she took care of the table, "Sorry, I didn't mean to. I'm just kind of competitive sometimes and you just know literally everything there is to know which is kind of annoying and…" she trailed off when she noticed Elijah's furious scrubbing over his sleeve, "Elijah? Are you okay? Hey, Elijah," she reached out for his hand but instead was harshly grabbed her wrist. Momentarily alarmed, she remained still.
"I'm not as fragile as the others have said," Elijah quietly said and let go of Cami's wrist.
"I...I didn't think that," she nervously said, slowly taking her seat again. Feeling awkward, she coughed and tried going through more of the cards that hadn't been ruined with her accident. Thankfully, Elijah's phone went off to interrupt them.
"Rebekah," he barely got to say when the woman on the other line began to speak. Cami could hear everything perfectly and so when Elijah hung up, apologizing to Angelica Barker, the Angelica, she was just as distressed as Elijah.
"We need to call Klaus," she announced seconds later, "Because if Angelica is still herself Rebekah is...who knows where…"
Agreeing with her, Elijah began dialing again, this time for Klaus.

The vampires were getting restless in the courtyard, having to resist the urge to drink blood from the wolves.
"Things are getting testy out there. Come on, we better move this along," Marcel told Kol and Maleny inside the dining room. Maleny had brought down her mother's spell book for Kol to analyze.
"Okay, so Finn's boundary is too strong. But, we can cast a destruction spell," Kol pointed to an excerpt in the book, "It would temporarily neutralize all magical objects in the compound, including the compound itself. If it works, well, then it will give us sixty seconds to escape whilst the boundary is shut down."
"Alright, alright, that sounds good to me," Marcel nodded and urged them to get started fast.
"Um, there is just one little flaw," Maleny regretted to inform, "If the spell works, it will suppress all magical objects in the vicinity. That means your rings."
Marcel groaned as he realized what it meant, "And if we go outside in the sun without our rings, we're dead."
"Unless you wait for nightfall," Klaus offered but it did not do much.
"Agh," Marcel looked back into the courtyard where the vampires were, "They're also new. They're not going to be able to fight the hunger. We can't wait until nightfall. We're going to have a bloodbath on our hands before we even get close."
"Then we're going to have to start now," Maleny looked at Kol, "Can we do it?"
"Yes, but we'll need some things from the Lycee. I figured since Finn is out looking for Esther Davina and Amarrah shouldn't have a problem retrieving them."
"Good, so go tell them," Maleny nodded for him to go outside.
"What?" Kol frowned at the idea. He was barely calm with Marcel in the same room and she wanted him to cross a courtyard full of hungry wolves?
"I'm not going out there alone," Maleny crossed her arms, "You go. And hurry up," grumbling, Kol took the spell book and went out, making a dash across the courtyard to tell the other witches what the plan was.

After putting away the Trivial Pursuit game, Cami found Elijah once again staring blankly out the window in the living room. Though still crossed with him, she didn't stop worrying over his mental health. Esther had really done a number with him after all. If only she knew what he was seeing within his mind.
"Elijah?" she called quietly and walked him, "Elijah, are you okay?" she only heard the sharp intake of breath as a response, "Hey, I know you're worried about Rebekah…" she reached to touch his shoulder but he whirled and swatted her hand away. Cami gasped as his faced vamped-out against her as if she were the enemy, "Elijah…?" her tremulous voice called to him but he started going for her, " Elijah? Elijah, please. Calm down," but her calls did nothing as he backed her up against a wall. She shut her eyes in terror, "Elijah, please calm down!" she knew she could put up some kind of fight but the man was an Original in the end and far more skilled to fight. Perhaps one attempt of hers for a kick and he pulled her heart out as an instinct.
After a couple seconds of nothing happening, she opened one eye and saw Elijah was no where to be seen. She released the breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding and relaxed. She didn't know what to do next but in the end, Hope's cries upstairs called her attention. And needing it herself, Cami rushed to go attend to the infant instead.

The witches had gathered up their ingredients to begin the spell that would temporarily bring down the barrier for the wolves to escape from the compound. Behind them things were no better between vampires and werewolves. Fights were ensuing and blood was looming to be shed.
"We need to hurry," Maleny mumbled as she caught sight of even Cami's friend, Gia, getting into the fight. And though she was stopping a friend, she was looking more and more weary of the wolves.
"Okay, we're set," Amarrah announced and rose to her feet with Davina.
All four raised their hands in parallel to the others across the barrier. They began with the spell and seconds later a gust of wind came through and blew out candles they'd prepared. Kol was the first to try out the barrier, and upon seeing it was no more he called to the others, "It's time to go!"
Hayley had her wolves set for the escape and began urging them out, "Let's go! Now!"
Meanwhile, the vampires were glued to the dark corners of the compound, hiding out from the sunlight which would then burn them up.
"Remember, sixty seconds!" Maleny called for any last wolves still in the vicinity before she herself fleet to the other side.
Just as Kol was going to do the same, Klaus yanked him back to the courtyard. On falling down, Kol hit his head and earned a cut of blood.
"Slight change of plans, brother. I no longer have to treat you as anything but the treacherous liar that you truly are," Klaus blocked all ways for Kol to leave the compound.
"What are you doing?" Maleny frowned at this new brotherly antic she thought had just been formed.
"Rebekah is not in Angelica Barker's body because Kol didn't put her there," Klaus angrily explained while glaring at Kol, "Where is she?"
"Please! They'll kill him!" Davina pleaded, the sixty seconds almost up.
"Well, he should have thought about that before he betrayed our sister! Rebekah never made it to her new body, did she? And, seeing as you cast the spell and, well, you're you, I'd hardly call it an uncrackable case!"
"Are you kidding me?" Amarrah believed she would never understand what ran through the Mikaelsons' heads in regards to their siblings.
"Rebekah's fine, Nik!" Kol tried to assure, but his frustration and fear were getting the best of him, "It was a prank, nothing more than anything you lot have done to me, but I bet it's different when it's one of y... aah!" upon trying to cross the barrier he found it was back on.
"Oooh. Barrier's back up," Klaus smirked as the vampires started coming out of their dark corners, "And those vampires look oh-so hungry. Now, I was willing to welcome you back in my home! But you had to return to your petty, selfish jealousies! Well, let's see how well they help you survive when you're stuck in there!" he stormed off ready to go find Finn or Rebekah or whoever came first.
Davina was terrified as she saw the vampires getting closer to Kol, all overly hungry. Amarrah nudged Maleny from behind and whispered, "We can't really leave him there, he'll get killed."
Maleny deeply sighed, "Yeah, I know. C'mon, we need to go find Rebekah or another spell to get Kol out. Either way it's the only way to save his life."

Cami had set a restless Hope down in her playpen after a near hour of useless napping attempts. She'd placed a couple of her toys down for Hope as well then walked over to the empty crib to fix it up for when she hoped Hope would soon fall asleep later on. She was rather restless herself. Elijah was no where to be seen, Rebekah was apparently lost somewhere in a new body, Marcel and his vampires were still stuck at the compound going crazy with hunger and she was...babysitting. As much as she loved Hope she wished she could be actively helping in the Quarter.
Hope gurgled from her playpen and made Cami turn around, "Well…" the blonde considered out loud, "Stuck in a house with your innocent self isn't that bad either," she returned to the playpen and tickled Hope on the stomach, causing the baby to giggle, "Definitely not as bad," a couple more minutes passed by before she felt the presence of someone else in the house.
"I thought you left," Cami looked up from the playpen to see Elijah by the entrance.
"I owe you an apology," Elijah came forwards.
Cami shook her head, "I told you I don't need one-"
"Yes, you do," Elijah cut her off sharply, "My sister's missing, my family's in jeopardy, I am... uh, utterly powerless to help them. This is not a state of affairs I'm accustomed to."
"I can tell," Cami crossed her arms, "But, that's not what I needed and you know it."
"Yes, you'd like to know the reason of my sudden request," Elijah came up to the playpen, momentarily looking down to Hope who was more than interested in a teddy bear.
"I would," agreed Cami, "but I don't see it happening any moment. I get it. You're troubled and believe me I don't like seeing you like this."
"And I don't like seeing you scared of me," Elijah said back, leaving her startled.
"I...I w-wasn't-"
"Yes you were, and that is exactly the reason I didn't want you here."
It took a minute for Cami to understand everything but even then she wasn't very clear, "You're ridiculous, do you know that?"
"Am I?" Elijah did his best not to raise his voice for his niece, "It's no use to lie, Camille. I saw your face - you were terrified. And justly so. I didn't want you here because I didn't want to hurt you. I didn't want you to see me like this. I am not the noble man you think I am - not the one anyone thinks I am."
Cami smiled a little, slowly understanding his reasons. She moved over to him and put her hands on his face, with thinking about it actually, "Hey, I like you because you're you. I'm not here for the noble stag title, I'm here because you're my friend and I want you to get better. I'm pretty sure everyone else thinks the same. And I get it, I get that you're dealing with things I have no idea about. But if you ever want to talk about it... It's kind of what I do, It can even be over a game of chess if you'd like. But fair warning, you will have to let me win that game or else…"
Elijah chuckled at her, taking her hands from his face and keeping them in his own, "I believe that sounds fair enough," Cami responded with her own laugh, hoping her blush wasn't too visible.

Amarrah and Davina were setting up runes of salt on St. Ann's church floor, right in front of the sacristy. The spell was meant to find the location of Finn for Klaus to finally get to.
"Do you guys get the feeling we're being watched?" Maleny came down the aisle from the entrance. She'd been looking out into the newest of festivals the Quarter was celebrating when she felt like there was someone watching her and preferred to go inside where it was a little more safe.
"I doubt it, Finn's too preoccupied blocking our spell," Amarrah huffed in annoyance as once again the spell failed.
"I must say, for a witch of your caliber, your spells are not particularly efficient," Klaus remarked to the French woman.
"Hey, I'm not used to going up against centuries old witches," Amarrah snapped, "We're doing our best."
"But it would help a lot if you would stop standing over us like a stalker," Davina added with a frown.
Maleny sighed and cut into the conversation, "Can we not do the fighting thing? It's a waste of time when we're all reaching for the same goal."
"Really?" Davina scoffed, "Because my goal is to get Kol out of the compound alive. Which seems to be about number ten on his list," she threw a glare towards Klaus who took it in with amusement.
"Number nine, at least!"
Maleny elbowed him for his childish remark, "Be quiet. She's not wrong - what you did with Kol was out of the question. But what he did to Rebekah was also out of the question. So, in other words, both of you," she pointed between the teen and the hybrid, "be quiet and get to work."
"Agreed," Amarrah held a hand for Davina, "Let's start."
Begrudgingly, Davina took the woman's hand and began chanting a spell together. As they chanted however, they began seeing visions of Finn doing his own spell.
"We saw glimpses of him," Amarrah gasped and looked at the others, "He's combining sacred objects. Totems. Representational magic."
"Where?" Klaus asked urgently.
The two witches returned to their spell in hopes of seeing more visions. Davina came to first and replied, "Lafayette No. 1. The Lyonne tomb."
"What exactly is he using for this spell?" Maleny dreaded to ask.
"He's channeling your parents!" Amarrah gasped in horror, "You people are sick."
Klaus hadn't taken it that way with his wide smile, "And here I thought I was the poster-child for least grateful offspring!"
"No time to be cocky," Maleny pointed at him, "With that kind of power under Finn's arm we're going to have some problems - bigger ones than the ones we already have."
"Then we need to get going," Klaus turned back for the entrance doors, but after taking a couple steps he abruptly froze.
"What is it now?" Davina rolled her eyes, unable to see his expressions from behind.
"Klaus…?" Maleny slowly said and turned to him just as he dropped to the floor, unconscious, "Oh my God! Davina!"
"Hey!" the teen scowled at the insinuation, "It wasn't me!"
Maleny frantically got to her knees and tried waking him up herself, "C'mon, wake up! Wake up, dammit!"
"This wasn't his choice, Mal," Amarrah forced the blonde to her feet.
"What are you talking about about?" Maleny shook her off.
"This has to be what Finn was doing with his spell, remember?"
Maleny blinked as it dawned her it was true. Just then her cellphone buzzed in her pocket and upon pulling it out she saw it was Cami, "Cami, I love you, but I don't have time-"
"Elijah collapsed and he's not waking up!" Cami exclaimed abruptly, "One moment we were talking and the next - bam! What do I do?"
"Elijah too? It's one of Finn's tricks, I'm afraid," Maleny ran a hand through her hair, "Listen, just...don't leave the house," and with that she hung up.
"So you have a plan?" Davina asked in high hopes. She realized if this was the case with all the brothers then Kol was left in the compound on his own with a bunch of hungry vampires.
"Hm?" Maleny blinked, "Oh I don't have a plan. I was kinda hoping the Harvest girl and the powerful French witch would have one," the three women looked at each other, completely lose on their next move.

Finn had built an elaborate form of prison for his brothers through the mind and was taking full advantage of it to get the information he needed. He did, however, release Kol simply to allow him to tell Marcel and his vampires what would happen at sundown - the barrier would come down and with the ravenous vampires being released into the festival blood would ensue.
"So," he proudly sat on a chair across Klaus and Elijah, "what shall we talk about while we wait for nightfall? Oh! I know! Let's talk about our parents."
Klaus rolled his eyes, "You know, I figured you wouldn't be kind to Mother, but imagine my surprise to learn that Mikael met the same fate! Bravo, brother."
"You see, the parent I was interested in talking about was your father. Your real one? I mean, you longed to know him your whole life, yet at the first opportunity, you murdered him! Why, I wonder?"
"Possibly the same reason you took out Esther. Severing parental ties has a way of freeing one up to recognize one's true potential."
"Quite," Finn agreed, "But, Esther was no fool. She pinpointed your wants, and knowing your true father was at the top of the list! No, something else occupies the top of your list of affections. And it's not your favorite city because I'm about to take that from you, using your own vampires, and I barely get a rise out of you! I thought maybe it was Rebekah, but you remain calm, even when the one who knows her fate probably just met his.
Elijah was making a round in the cabin pretending to be more interested in the decorations, "I am fighting the monumental urge to mount your severed head upon one of these walls…
Finn promptly ignored him and continued on, "I then thought it was your favorite brother, but Mother broke him into a thousand pieces, and rather than fix him, you left him to fend for himself God knows where. And Kol...well, he's not much of your devotion right now, right?" Finn shook his head but momentarily paused, smirking in that devious way the two brothers knew he had something else up his sleeve, "That really only leaves Kol and...Maleny?"
Klaus stalked over to the man on the chair, "She has nothing to do with this! Leave her alone!"
Finn sucked air between his teeth, "It's a bit late for that. See, my wolves are already acting on it."
"LEAVE HER!" Klaus momentarily forgot he couldn't even touch Finn and tried to grasp him from the neck.
Finn produced an aneurysm that forced Klaus to his knees, "I said she'd pay for this as well. That's the thing about her, she's almost a Mikaelson and with all the pain that comes with it. It's only a matter of time."

"Wake up!" it was now Davina who was trying to wake Klaus up...only her attempts consisted of hard slaps across the face, "C'mon! Wake up!"
Over at the altar sat Amarrah and Maleny on the small steps, both staring at the teen in resignation. There was nothing to do but wait for Finn to bring down the spell. However, as time ticked by and Kol's body remained at the compound - as the teen hadn't known that Kol had been returned - she grew more and more frustrated.
"Wake up!"
"Aren't you going to stop her?" Amarrah took her gaze off Davina to look at Maleny beside her.
Maleny had her chin resting on her palm and looked far too calm for someone whose practically boyfriend was being slapped by a teenage witch. The blonde hummed, "I figure this is a way for her to release anger. This way she wins, I don't lose either of them, and Klaus won't ever know about it."
Suddenly, the doors of the church opened with a blast and in came a swarm of Finn's wolves. Davina jumped to her feet at the same time Maleny and Amarrah got up.
"Maleny Rowan, we came to collect you," a middle aged woman, unlike the others a witch, stepped forwards.
"Good, no thank you," Maleny shook her head, "You can go now."
The woman rolled her eyes and glanced back to the wolves, "Well, you know what to do."
"Stay back!" Davina had pulled aneurysms on the looming wolves. Amarrah tried flinging others back but there was simply too many. Maleny quickly saw it would be tough to escape.
"Ah!" Amarrah gasped as she was yanked by one of the wolves.
"Amarrah!" Maleny tried going for her but then she heard Davina's gasp as well and turned to see the teen being held by another wolf.
The middle-aged witch stepped forwards once more, this time wearing a smirk as she probably knew what would happen, "Let's try this again, shall we? Maleny Rowan, we came to collect you. Will you go easily or will we have to tear the hearts out from your two lovely friends?"
"Don't go with them, Mal," Davina struggled to get free from her captive.
Maleny ran her hands through her hair as she questioned her best option. It was quite obvious and even she knew what she would have to decide for. With a shaky breath she stepped forwards, motioning she was coming in peace, "I go and you leave them alone?"
The witch gave a nod, "Of course. We've no interest in silly witches and certainly in an unconscious hybrid."
"Maleny, what are you doing!?" Amarrah angrily stopped fighting to glare at her friend.
"It's okay," Maleny assured, "When Klaus wakes up you'll tell him...and he'll know what to do," she lowered her hands and walked towards the group, "I'll go willingly."
The witch looked at the two wolves holding Amarrah and Davina captive, "Hold them until we're out of the building," she instructed and grabbed Maleny by the arm, "And know if you try anything we'll kill your friends on the spot."
"I won't," Maleny gritted her teeth and was pushed out for the doors.
Behind them Davina and Amarrah could only watch as Maleny willingly walked out with the wolves. They all correctly assumed she would come to rue the moment she walked out of the church.

"You should realize the trouble you're getting yourself into by doing this," Maleny warned in vain as she was pushed towards a car, now bound by the wrists.
The witch that had taken her, now identified as Ela, snapped her fingers for one of the wolves. She was handed some gray duct tape.
Maleny frowned at what was coming, "Seriously?" she momentarily stopped walking to turn to her but was pushed into a walk by a wolf behind, "You already have my voluntary kidnapping."
"Precautions," Ela plainly said and stopped by the car, opening up the door to the backseat. She pulled on the tape and cut it with her teeth, "Wouldn't want you shouting out to people you're kidnapped. Especially when there's a silly festival going on."
"You get that thing away from me," Maleny backtracked and hit a wolf behind, "No!"
Ela stepped forwards as the wolf behind Maleny grabbed her arms and kept her locked for Ela to place the tape over Maleny's mouth. Maleny now openly struggled against the two and went as far as putting her feet up on the side of the car so as to not be forced inside. In the end however, the wolves overpowered her easily and stuffed her inside. Ela rolled her eyes at the fiasco and got in after the blonde.
"Hurry up," she told the driver, another of the wolves, "Yamilet holds the corpse deep in the bayou."
"Yes," the driver nodded and started the car.
"And I wouldn't think about plotting an escape from the bayou," Ela warned Maleny with a smirk, "Finn has made sure it's very deep. It'll take you at least two days to get to the roadside," Maleny visibly swallowed hard and of course remained still. Content, Ela looked ahead as the car was finally driving off.
Maleny thought about the chances of her making an escape on her own. But there were wolves involved with their supernatural strength and she didn't feel like being mauled to the point of losing a limb. With no options, she had to sit there and let time pass as they headed to God knows where. The moon was up high and bright when the car finally came to a stop, and Maleny felt even more nervous when she realized they were actually very deep in the bayou - as Ela promised.
"Where the hell are we?" she whispered her demand as soon as Ela yanked the tape off her.
Ela got out the car and Maleny was escorted out on her side. The two wolves held her tightly around the arms and faced her in the direction of a cabin.
There was a young man standing by the threshold of the cabin, apparently waiting for them. Ela walked up to him, her eyes making a clear observation of the quietness in the area.
"Is it done?" she asked.
"Yes, just like Vincent, ordered," a young man replied. "She's down."
Ela looked back as Maleny was brought forwards. The blonde was nervously looking around, "What are we doing here? I don't get it..."
The smirk that broke across Ela's lips made Maleny fear there was a horrible punishment on the other side of the cabin door. With a motion of her fingers, the wolves half-dragged Maleny towards the cabin.
"We should get started, then," Ela declared as she entered first.
As soon as Maleny was brought in - and forced to her feet - she could see on a metal table her previous corpse, in perfect condition. Immediately she started shaking her head and trying to back away in horror as she assumed what was going to happen. She whimpered and threw her feet up in attempts to make it harder for the wolves to drag her closer.
"NO! NO! Please don't! Anything but this! PLEASE!"
Ela was clearly satisfied by the reaction and gave a small chuckle, "This is exactly what Finn said he hoped to hear from you."
"Please! Don't make go back to that!" Maleny was near to tears as the wolves forced her onto the table beside the one with her corpse, "I'm begging you! Not the curse! Not the curse!"
"Benson," Ela called and the young man that received them walked over, "Bring her in," she ordered.
With a nod of his head, Benson went into another room of the cabin. In the meantime, Ela walked up to the table Maleny was on and smirked.
"Are you ready little witch?"
Maleny was busy screaming her head off and budging against the ropes binding her to the table, "NO! NO! STOP! NOT THIS! I DON'T WANT TO GO BACK!" The tears fell like rain pouring from the sky. Maleny knew that this time Klaus would not be coming to save her - no one was.
Finn would have his way; he would make her pay in the worst way possible.

LOVE FOR ETERNITY - PART 71
MASTERLIST
PART 71: | DEVILS YOU KNOW |
Elijah, Marcel, and Hayley have come to the attic of St. Louis Cathedral to meet with Freya, who has lit dozens of white candles in preparation for more spellwork as the four discuss what they have learned.
  - “So, where is Klaus?” Hayley asked confused.
  - Freya, who is leaning against the table and looking exhausted, sighs, “When I told him about Rebekah, he said he'd pursue another lead.”
Elijah takes Freya's athame and uses it to slice open his palm so he can bleed into a bronze bowl on the table, which lays on top of a large, pristine paper map that covers the entire tabletop.
  - “Forget Niklaus.” Elijah says and whips out his handkerchief, which he uses to clean up his hands after he finishes bleeding into the bowl. He then hands the bowl to Freya, saying, “You will find her.”
  - Just then Natali enters the room, “Hey, I couldn’t find Kol but I came here as soon as I could.” Natali says.
  - “You came just at the right moment. Help me find her.” Freya tells her.
Natali sits across from her and Freya takes a deep breath before putting her hands around the rim of the bowl of blood, Natali does the same and they begin the spell, “Le six ce strul no cruv. Le six ce strul no cruv.”
Freya pours the bowl full of blood onto the map where Africa is situated continuing to chant, “Le six ce strul no cruv.”
She hands the bowl to Elijah and they all watch the map hopefully. Freya and Natali focus all of their energy on concentrating on Rebekah, but the blood just spreads out until it is covering the entire map.
  - “Damnit!” Freya says frustratedly
  - “Well, so much for witch-GPS.” Hayley remarks.
  - “I assumed they'd cloaked her. I didn't expect a spell this strong.” Freya says.
  - “If the Strix took her they might bring her here, they need you all in one place.” Natali tells them.
  - “Niklaus told me that they are looking for a weapon called Serratura, I suppose you might know what it is.” Elijah says.
  - “Of course I know. I’ve made it.” Natali told them, “Tristan and Lucien are also looking for that?”
  - “Yeah, who else is looking for that?” Freya asks.
  - “My sister. She wants to lock Tristian with Serratura.” Natali tells them.
  - “Did you gave it to her?” Freya asks panicky.
  - “Of course I didn’t.” Natali replies, “If anyone is going to use that thing is going to be me.”
  - “We can do exactly what Renée wants.” Freya suggested.
  - “All at the right time.” Natali says, then she turns to Elijah, “But in the meantime, tell me we’re going to kill someone?”
Tumblr media
- “Oh, we're going to kill many someones. But first - if we are to start a war, let us determine where allegiances lie.” Elijah replies.
⚜ ✡ ⚜ ✡ ⚜ ✡
While Elijah, Klaus and Kol have a Thanksgiving dinner with Tristan, Lucian, Aurora and Renée, Natali and Freya were still trying to find Rebekah.
  - Klaus was smiling coldly, before speaking, “A medallion that could lock us away hardly seems like a wise strategy for those come to protect us.”
  - “Good thing you’ll never find it.” Kol says.
  - “I couldn’t help but notice, where’s Natali?” Renée asks looking directly at Kol, who clenched his jaw.
  - Elijah feeling sudden tension in the room changes the subject and looks at Aurora, “Release Rebekah.”
  - Lucien looks around the table in confusion before interrupting, “Uh, just a tick - Aurora has Rebekah, hmm?”
  - Aurora gives Lucien an offended look, “No reason why I shouldn't be trusted with my sire's safety.”
  - Lucien scoffs, “Of course.. unless you were to have one of your episodes.”
  - Tristan quickly interrupts to defend his sister, “Easy, Lucien. My sister sought leverage to protect herself. Who among us would do otherwise?”
  - Elijah is rapidly beginning to lose his patience with this conversation, “Niklaus, will you politely remind me why we shouldn't just compel them all to give us what we want?”
  - “I agree.” Kol says.
Aurora bursts into very loud laughter at this remark. Klaus smiles tightly at her, also beginning to dislike their conversation.
  - “I'm sorry, did Elijah say something amusing?” Klaus says.
  - Aurora smiles politely, “We lost a century to compulsion, my love. And some of us lost a great deal more. Surely you can't believe we'd allow ourselves to come here vulnerable?”
  - Elijah smiles fakely at Aurora in response, “My dearest Aurora, compulsion is not my only party trick.”
  - Aurora's smile becomes a scowl within seconds, “I do not like these threats.”
  - Once again, Tristan quickly jumps into the conversation to mediate, “Our continued existence depends on the Mikaelsons. We've known that since Finn died. Unfortunately, so does every other vampire in the world. Given that the sirelines have declared war against one another, you can imagine how many young upstarts have come to the same conclusion - kill a Original, wipe out an entire line of rivals.” Tristan looks pointedly at Klaus, Elijah and Kol “Heavy burden, isn't it? The lives of thousands of sired vampires resting on your shoulders? In a perfect world, you'd allow us to seal you away forever, thus eliminating the threat.”
They stared coldly at Tristan, clearly not appreciating the implications of what he's suggesting.
  - “Fortunately, the world is far from perfect.” Klaus replies coldly.
Suddenly everyone felt a gush of wind and before anyone could react Natali had Aurora’s head pinned against the dining table.
  - “Where the hell is Rebekah!?!” Natali shouted at Aurora.
  - Aurora just smiles like it was all fun to her, “Oh, Natali, lovely to see you.”
  - “Answer my question.” Natali says with a strong voice, tightening her grip on her.
  - “Natali!” Klaus yells, “Release her.”
  - “If you want to play nice with them, that doesn’t mean I will.” Natali replies and pulls Aurora by her hair, so she also stands up.
Just then, footsteps are heard as Freya walks into the courtyard and makes an appalled face at the sight of her brothers' guests.
  - “We're welcoming our enemies to the dinner table now? Convenient, given she's the one who has the answers we want.” Freya says and gestures at Aurora, who is so offended by the accusation that she scoffs loudly.
  - “Oh, for heaven's sake! Now I have to deal with the long-lost sister?” Aurora says and turns to Klaus with a stern expression, “Nik, please spare me your family's rage and paranoia. It is exactly this kind of lunacy which led me to steal Rebekah in the first place.”
  - Freya interrupts, causing Aurora to look back at her, “What did you do with her?”
  - “Oh, I'm sorry, love, but this prophecy has you all acting as fools. And I've no intention of risking my life to foolishness.” Aurora says and everyone in the room is staring at her, as none of them know the true reason why Aurora took Rebekah in the first place except for Tristan, who merely looks embarrassed by her behavior, “Now, I can't trust Rebekah with any of you.” Aurora gives Tristan a pointed look before she continues, “And I certainly can't trust the silly dear to endure on her own, so I decided to put her someplace safe. Imagine a spot where no harm could come to her. Where, in fact, no one could possibly even track her down.” Aurora smiles at the rest of the room as the Mikaelsons all stare at her in bewilderment and horror, “Yes, rest assured, Rebekah is perfectly fine.. at the bottom of the ocean.”
  - Mikaelson's glare at her murderously, and Natali says to Klaus and Aurora, “No wonder you two are perfect for each other.”
  - Klaus narrows his eyes in scrutiny as he examines Aurora's poker face, “She’s bluffing.” Aurora simply shakes her head as though she's playing dumb, and Klaus becomes even more overwhelmed with anger, “Tell me you're bluffing!”
   - Aurora scoffs, “Oh, you should all be thanking me. Rebekah's never been safer! She has plenty of company down there. There's all the little crabs, and octopus, and..” Aurora makes accompanying hand gestures to communicate the crabs and octopus just as Klaus angrily slams his hands on the table and stands to his feet. Before Klaus can react further, however, Tristan vamp-speeds over to Freya and holds the point of a knife to her throat.
  - “Harm my sister, and I'll be forced to return the favor.” Tristan growls.
Elijah, not to be outdone, vamp-speeds over to Tristan and yanks him away from Freya, pinning him face-first against one of the support beams of the balcony.
  - Lucien smirks at this development and awkwardly sips his drink before making his snarky reply, “Oh, this all escalated very quickly..”
  - Renée who was sitting next to him also sips her drink and says, “It‘s just starting to be interesting.”
  - Klaus was irritated, “Shut up, Lucien, or I'll tear your tongue from your head.”
  - Lucien rolls his eyes, “Be careful with your threats, Nik. Or anything could happen to your precious Cami.”
  - Aurora's eyes flash with jealousy and anger, “Okay, that is the second time I've heard her name! Just who is this Cami?”
  - Freya glares mutinously at Aurora, “You have bigger problems.” she growls. Then thrusts her hand in front of her and flicks her wrist, telekinetically snapping Aurora's neck and causing her to collapse onto the floor in a heap.
  - Klaus, both appalled and impressed, shouts at her, “Freya!”
Elijah seems to be in agreement with Freya and interrupts him as he drags Tristan back to the table by the back of his neck and shoving him down onto his seat.
  - “Niklaus.. Which of these three vulgar parasites would you first like to torture?” Elijah asks.
Lucien takes a deep breath, clearly not keen to be alone with either Mikaelson brother.
  - “Natali.” Renée simply says, not wanting to be tortured by anyone.
  - Natali looks at her sister for a moment, before saying, “Leave my sister alone.”
  - “Thank you.” Renée says.
  - “Don’t thank me yet.” Natali tells her.
  - “And what about your old friend, you’re not going to protect me?” Lucian asks.
  - “No one can protect you.” Natali replies, just as Klaus walks over to Lucien and stands behind him, squeezing his shoulders tightly in mock affection before smiling devilishly at Elijah.
  - “Why don't you take the stable boy? Tristan and I are long overdue for a good catch-up.” Klaus says and looks down at Lucien with a cold smile.
Lucien purses his lips, not wanting to set either of the brothers off. Meanwhile, Freya smiles coldly down at Aurora's unconscious body, which is still splayed across the rug where she fell after her neck was snapped.
⚜ ✡ ⚜ ✡ ⚜ ✡
In the ballroom, Freya is pacing back and forth with a lit sage smudge-stick, allowing the smoke to waft around the room. Aurora's body has been moved and propped up against the nearby wall. After a moment, Aurora's eyelids begin to twitch, and she takes a deep breath as she starts to come to. When she finally opens her eyes, she hums as she starts to remember what happened.
  - “Took you long enough.” Freya says.
  - Aurora takes notice of the smudge-stick in Freya's hand and smiles, “Oh, are we to play a fun game?”
  - Freya smiles, “Actually, yes.” she holds up the burning sage in her hand, “And now that my spell has made it so that no one can hear what happens..”
  - As if on cue, Natali walks into the room and stares pointedly at Aurora,  “We're gonna have a lot of fun.”
  - “Natali! Are we going to be friends like before?” Aurora asks.
  - Natali just glares at her, “No. And we were never friends, I only used you to be with Kol.”
  - Aurora isn't the least bit bothered by this rejection, “Oh, okay. So, then what, pray tell, are we doing here?”
Natali and Freya, standing side by side, stare at Aurora with serious expressions.
  - “You're gonna tell us where to find Rebekah..” Natali paused, “Or we're going to kill you.”
  - “Oh!” Aurora chuckles in amusement as the two girls smile smugly at her.
  - “Yeah, so what is gonna be?” Natali asks.
Aurora just stares at them without saying anything and Natali was quick on losing her patience. She instantly started fighting Aurora and has just punched her in the face so hard that the impact causes her to spin away from her.
  - “Ugh!” Aurora cried out, doubling over as she recoverd from the blow.
  - “I'm gonna ask you again - where is Rebekah?” Natali askes, it was more like a demand but it didn’t phase Aurora who only whipped blood off of her lips before giving Natali an impressed look.
Freya, annoyed, thrusts her hand in front of her and casts a powerful pain infliction spell on Aurora, which causes her to scream in pain and clutch her head. Freya clenches her hand into a fist, which only increases the agony Aurora is experiencing. Aurora musters up all the energy she has and fights through the pain long enough to vamp-speed toward Freya and shove her into the nearby wall, which distracts her enough to stop the spell. Aurora then lunges for Natali and backhands her across the face, angering Natali so much that she starts to fight with her again. Aurora blocks her punches and twists Natali's arm back before kicking her in the stomach. And just as Aurora wanted to punch Natali again, Natali recovered quickly and gives her another pain infliction spell, this one more powerful than Freya’s. Aurora clutches her head and groans in pain, nearly falling to her knees from the force of it, also her eyes started to bleed from the pain she was experiencing. After a moment, Freya releases her from the spell, and Aurora pants loudly as she recovers.
   - Suddenly, Aurora starts to giggle loudly, “Woo!” she paused to laugh, That actually hurt.” she laughs again, “Oh, I haven't felt pain since the 1700s! Kind of tickles!” suddenly her smile falls slightly and she looks at Natali and Freya coldly, “And for that, I'm gonna make you suffer.” she went to lunge for them, but Natali grabs Aurora by the hair and yanks her head back.
   - Just then Hayley walked into the room, “Need some help?” she asks as she looks at the three of them.
  - Natali looks at Hayley as got the idea, “How about a werewolf bite, you psychotic little bitch?”
  - Aurora giggles, “By all means! If only I can laugh in your face when Nik heals me.”
Natali angrily knees Aurora in the stomach before shoving her at vampire speed across the room, where she's thrown against the far wall.
  - Freya smiles at Aurora condescendingly, “Maybe Klaus would heal you, but I doubt he would heal your brother.” she turns to Hayley and says, “Maybe you should bite him instead?”
Hayley smirks and looks back at Aurora as she thinks about that idea.
  - Aurora turns towards her, “No one should dare harm my brother.. Seeing as you're all going to need him if you want your precious Rebekah back.”
The three of them stare and Aurora furiously at this revelation.
  - “You see, while I did ensure that Rebekah was dropped in the ocean, I don't know precisely where. I had some old friends do it for me.. and then I killed them. But I have procured the exact location of Rebekah's watery grave in two sealed envelopes. Mine contains the latitude..” she trailed off as she circled them, “And Tristan’s contains the longitude. So you really can’t kill either of us if you want to find your sister. X marks the spot!” she stops in front of them and smiles smugly, “So, tell me, girls - who has the advantage now?”

By the next morning, Elizabeth and Hayley had grown a bit closer. Elizabeth had sprung plenty of ideas to Hayley. Many of them, Hayley couldnt believe that they were coming out of Elizabeth's mouth. But one of them stuck. A list. As simple as it was it had been a list of all of the members of the Strix that had taken them capture. And that had been enough for Hayley.
"I'll be happy to lend a hand." Elizabeth said with a grin on her face.
Hayley shook her head. "I have to do this on my own, but I will need your help." She said with a small smile. But Elizabeth knew Hayley was having a problem asking.
"Just spit it out woman. You wouldn't be asking if you really didn't needed it." Elizabeth said giving Hayley a slight glare.
"Can you keep him busy?" Hayley asked.
"Who? Elijah?" Elizabeth asked before giving her a look. "You expect him to believe that I need to spend time with him for two whole days while you slaughter members of the Strix?"
"It was your idea, Liz." It had taken Elizabeth by surprise that Hayley had used her nick name. Very few did so and there was a part of the vampire that had been glad that the two had seemed to be getting along so well.
"You are right." Elizabeth said with a nod. "I'll come up with something. But you must be prepared for when Elijah eventually finds out, Hayley. Its not a simple task you are trying to pull off."
Hayley nodded. "I know. It could mean an act of war. But if it means getting the revenge I seek for Jackson, it will all be worth it."
"I may have never met Jackson, but the way you speak of him is like you owe him, not that this is something you just want to happen." Elizabeth watched Hayley carefully as she spoke. But Hayley had only seemed to have retreated into her mind. "I'll leave you alone with your thoughts." Elizabeth walked out of Hayley's room in search for Malakai.
After several bars later, Elizabeth found Malakai drinking with a few of the vampires from the quarter in Rousseau's. As Elizabeth stood on one side of the room, she couldnt help but watch Malakai enjoying himself. He was laughing with a blonde vampire that he had his arm wrapped around. For once it seemed that Malakai was enjoying his freedom.
"You seem lost in thought." Elizabeth looked over at the person. Cami, Elizabeth noted. She had seen her twice since her arrival in New Orleans.
"I'm just glad my friend is happy. He hasn't been a bother has he?" Elizabeth looked back at Malakai, who had just taken another shot. Seeing as that it was only mid day, it didn't seem like the group cared much. They were enjoying himself.
"Besides drinking the bar clean, he has been well behaved." Cami noticed Elizabeth's head nod slightly.
"He has been through a lot. He deserves this, to be free."
"Free of Klaus's sire line?" Cami asked watching Elizabeth watch Malakai.
Elizabeth smiled and shook her head finally looking towards Cami. "That was just a plus. But Malakai has only been awake for about three years now." A confused look appeared on Cami's face and Elizabeth didn't hesitate to explain. "You see, there was a time when Klaus learned that he could make Hybrids. It was before he actually learned that he had to break the spell that his mother had placed on him." She nodded towards Malakai. "His curse had only been triggered for a month when Klaus picked his pack as a test trial."
Cami noticed the pause. She wondered if Elizabeth was going to continue her story but she noticed Elizabeth's eyes glass over. "You don’t have to finish." Cami said trying to bring some comfort to the vampire.
Elizabeth chuckled and blinked her eyes a few times. "It was a rough time for us, Cami. I thought I was going to lose my best friend that night. But thankfully a witch was willing to help, she died using a spell to put him to sleep until I could get my hands on doppelganger blood." A smile soon appeared on her face. "Now he is free and allowed to do as he wishes."
"You care a lot about him." Cami noted.
Elizabeth nodded. "He's the only family I have." Without saying another word, Elizabeth walked away and joined Malakai. His face lit up the moment he saw her.
"Liz! Welcome to the party, I thought you would have joined us last night." He said pulling her into a hug.
"I'd figure I'd let you get a lot of the partying out of your system before I joined. " She said with a smile.
Looking to the bartender Malakai ordered a round of drinks and pulled Elizabeth off to sit down and talk. While they had been in the came city for the last two days, they hadn't actually gotten a chance to sit down and talk for a moment.
"How are the Mikaelsons?" He asked watching her. He had a specific reason for asking and wanted to see the reaction on her face. Elizabeth knew what that specific question meant and she could only shake her head.
"I thought you were supposed to see Klaus." She said changing the subject. "He was ready to come looking for you. Saw you as a threat."
"Well you see, I got caught up in all the partying and figured my best friend would ease into a conversation somewhere with Klaus and say I was here." He had a playful grin on his face that Elizabeth enjoyed seeing. Elizabeth shook her head at him.
"Eventually you will need to speak with him. Preferably before things start to hit the fan again."
"What makes you think they will?" He asked.
"Its the Mikaelsons, when does anything stay calm for a long period of time?" Elizabeth's phone buzzed in her pocket. Taking it out she looked at the screen and placed it back. When she looked up at Malakai he had a raised eyebrow wondering who it was that had texted her, but Elizabeth ignored it. "Do you know where you will be at later?"
Malakai laughed. "No idea. Somewhere across the river. One of the vampires, Josh, said there was a party and I do not intend to miss it." He said with a smile.
Elizabeth laughed and stood up from her seat. "Maybe afterwards you can actually talk to Klaus like you wanted to."
Elijah stood on the balcony looking out at the city. He had spent the day helping Klaus search for any remnants of the white oak. They had found none. Elijah hoped that this would be the end of his brother's constant paranoia. The only weapon that could kill them had been destroyed completely and Elijah hoped that it would bring some peace to both his brother and the city. But Elijah had known better. Things were changing and eventually the peace would be gone in a matter of moments.
Elizabeth leaned against the entry way to the balcony watching Elijah. The man always looked so lost in thought. Part of her wanted to leave him to his thoughts and find some other time to ask the questions that had been going through her own mind for several years. But if she held the questions back, she would never really know what she wanted to know.
"Elijah." Her voice had been soft, almost childlike.
"I was wondering when you would actually speak." There was a hint of humor in his voice. He didn't turn to look at her though. His eyes stayed on the city before him.
"I was debating on if I should bother you or not." She said taking the few steps out onto the balcony and stood beside him.
"You have never been a bother, Elizabeth." He said looking over at her with a small smile.
"Are you sure about that?" She asked with a smile. "I was a rather energetic child once."
"And you kept many on their feet, but you were never a bother." A small giggle passed Elizabeth's lips.
Elizabeth had only been four when the Originals had found their way into her village seeking shelter from Mikael. Elizabeth's father had welcomed the family with open arms and helped them settle into a new life. While they still continuously looked over their shoulder, they had tried going on with their lives. Elijah had befriend Elizabeth's father and they had spent a lot of time developing the village the best they could. It was the times where Elizabeth's father and Elijah would be looking over plans that Elizabeth would come running through and interrupt them from their task. Life had been peaceful for a little over a year before Kol fueled Klaus's paranoia.
"I never thanked you for that night, Elijah." Elizabeth said with a small nod.
"How could you, you were only five." Elizabeth could hear the tinge of guilt in his voice. "I could not stand by and watch my brothers kill another innocent. Especially a child."
Kol had fueled Klaus's paranoia of Mikael finding them enough that he had willingly agreed to help Kol slaughter the village. Elizabeth and her mother had went for a walk that night. When they returned to the village, everyone had been killed. Before Elizabeth and her mother could run and hide, Kol managed to get a hold of her mother, leaving Elizabeth running into the forest on her own as she heard her mother's screams.
"Why didn't you do it?" Elizabeth asked. She had always wondered why Elijah hadn't compelled her to forget anything. He had only compelled her to stay calm and not to tell anyone their secret.
"I couldn't give you an answer for I hardly know myself." Elijah said with a slight nod. "Though if I had, I wouldn't have gone to check on you."
"You came and checked on me?" Elizabeth had been shocked by his words. After the night her village had been slaughtered, Elijah took Elizabeth into another village and she had been accepted by a family. After that, she didn't see Elijah again for some time. She never knew he had taken the time to check on her. He never once made himself known during that time.
"Circumstances, remember?" His words caused her to chuckle. "While I had left you with the memories of creatures of the night, I had always gone back to check to see if you were living a normal life. Which you were, until things changed."
"And that was when I started seeing you around again." She nodded completely understanding what he meant by 'until things changed'. Elizabeth had been courted by a man that came from a wealthy family. And while everything had gone according to plan with the courting, it was after the marriage that things got difficult. Before Elijah could say anything, she changed the subject. "Its been almost eight hundred years, Elijah. That's a lot of missed birthdays you have to catch up on."
Of course she had been joking but it did the trick. Elijah laughed and shook his head at her. "You'll have to forgive me, the past eight hundred years have been quite difficult."
"You mean with your paranoid brother who likes to dagger you and keep you in a wooden box from time to time." She said with a smirk growing on her lips. "But I get it. Always and Forever."
Elijah looked at Elizabeth with a smile. She in fact did understand what Always and Forever meant to him and his family. It was just like Elijah knew it applied to her and Malakai. She'd go to the ends of the Earth for the people she cared for. There was no stopping her from saving those she cared for. Elijah knew in that moment, circumstances aside, Elizabeth was there to help them. And while he wouldn't tell her that Klaus still had his doubts about her intentions in New Orleans, Elijah believed that there was no danger in the woman he had watched grow up.
