Alabasta Ace is so funny.

Like the strawhats keep commenting that Ace is so polite and restrained compared to Luffy but like. This dude drags himself out of the ocean just to thank them for looking after his brother and offer to help wash dishes. Mans asks "Are these guys bothering you?" and proceeds to blow up an entire fleet with his bare hands. He trips over himself to make sure all of Luffy's crew likes him and no, really, you don't mind that he's a weirdo???? That we, I mean he, are feral little insane guys who take up space and emotional labor and are kind hard to handle? Really???? #To Shape A Dragon’s Breath #aroaessidhe 2023 reads #this is really really good i loved it! #the chapter titles are all like snippets of a story. or like sentence fragments that match up. which is cool #it is definitely more about being indigenous in a coloniser institution than Dragon School - not Super dragon heavy if you want that #I suspect the subsequent books will get into that when she gets big enough to ride and stuff #t’s also def YA! i’ve seen a few ppl assume it’s adult and be like its very young :( but like. I mean its perfectly reasonable for a 15yo m #definitely a Lot of racism and colonialism which is not fun to read! though it's still through a YA lens. there was def a part of me that #was imagining consequences of the narrative as if it were an adult novel #on that line of thought - at the end a lot of it is kind of solved by them going to the king and he's is like. oh no racism is happening? #that's bad i'll deal with those people! which felt like. a little simplistic. but maybe the easiest way to end the narrative for book 1 - #I don't think the author ACTUALLY is going to portray the king as a Good Guy throughout the series - it just felt conveniently like - #a simple YA solution to some very big and complex elements? if that makes sense? I see mistakes in this, I always do, but I won't focus too much on them since, like I said, I feel lazy and I only made this drawing to test how a fountain pen that I bought online works, yesterday I received the ink so today I started testing it :D

The only reason I didn't try it yesterday is because when I opened the bottle of ink it started to spill everywhere D:

My theory is that there was ink residue on the cap from probably shaking it on the way to my delivery, so when I opened it what was left on the cap ran down the outside of the bottle, so yes, my hands were unfortunately stained with ink, but they were the only ones affected since my desk was easily cleaned and my clothes were not even touched, so it wasn't so tragic after all <D

And that's all for today, nothing very interesting has happened to me more than this morning I woke up with a terrible headache, but it is understandable after a week where the most I slept per day was about...three hours maximum ☠️
