I made this compilation of over a dozen sleeper holds from the annals of classic televised wrestling. What total domination, to put another man to sleep, literally holding him at your mercy, and then to refuse to release the hold even after he's clearly out cold! Now do you see why I was got so wrapped up in wrestling while growing up?!

For me, the contrivance of new names for these same old holds just added to my wonder and fascination. We hear several variations called out: the Russian Guillotine, the Cobra Hold, the Shanghai Sleeper, the Japanese Sleeper. I wanted to learn them all so I could apply all of them on somebody.

This one is very short, only about four pages, but does show implications of a light clingy yandere (or I guess, helpless yandere? The kind that acts helpless so the MC will take care of them). The concept is pretty interesting since I don't actually see that many clingy yanderes, but as it's rather short, there's not too much to it.

Personally, I'd love to see more of these kinds of yanderes as I find them pretty cute and very good for a sort of underhanded manipulation tactic.

20 years ago today, I posted a gallery to my old website featuring images of the great Kid Leopard wrecking several jobbers with his devastating Cobra Clutch hold. The screen-shots that I posted were primary captured from BG East videos (in either VHS or DVD format) that I keep in a box on my closet shelf.

Today I revisited Mr. Leopard's frequent usage of this hold by creating a video clip of him sending jobber Cliff Conlin and then jobber Jake Omega off to dreamland.

I sure wish I would've started my own Underground wrestling federation back in the 1990s where dozens of cute lads would line up to take their shirts off and then submit to my Sleeper Holds. Maybe it's not too late...

I dont talk about liveship traders a lot cuz i have fitz brainrot but these books are literally so good i just love how robin hobb explores the relationships between the vestrit women and how each of them grapples with their patriarchal society, i love a story that follows multiple generations of a family and how the members parallel and contrast each other, i love their character development and how hobb realistically portrays their struggles with unlearning misogynistic believes and the generational divide in the way they look at the world. I just love the vestrits a lot

I’m so mad at Cafe Minamdang’s script.

Like, you have this star studded talented cast paired with a fantastic premise, and the writers seem to have been so focused on aesthetics that EVERYTHING else has fallen flat.

The vibes of this show are immaculate. But every character is 2 dimensional. And don’t get me started on how they set up this female lead. What is with this actress and getting amazing set ups for complex badass characters, and then the writers taking a bludgeoning tool to all her development to flatten her to 2 dimensions so the male lead can be impressive? (I will always be mad about A Korean Odyssey, despite rewatching it all the time)

And it sucks how, like in A Korean Odyssey, it’s working. The ML is FANTASTIC! I love him. That actor is bodying this character. But the writers keep doing it at the female lead’s expense.

Oooh, Anon, I didn’t anticipate I’d be asked about Vox’s and Valentino’s role for ‘A Prince and His Baron’! So this is a very cool question to see in my Inbox!

Warning, everything below delves into a little bit of Spoiler Territory so take care~

We have to keep in mind P&B is my mindless self-indulgence project. I use it as cathartic writing and the occasional break from TUT. Which means this story is a lil insight into the type of stories I have read. One of it includes light novels with a pseudo-medieval (fantasy) setting that usually has a royal character(s) and aristocrat character(s). There’s also the harlequin regency romance novels where you usually have a FL (a noble daughter or an average but quirky I’m-Not-Like-Other-Girls character) and your mysterious, handsome brooding ML, and a cast of supporting or antagonistic secondary characters. Which brings me to my next point….

Politics. No, don’t run for the hills yet! Infernal demon politics especially, because we’re in Hell and I like playing around with worldbuilding. I’m very much a believer in cause-and-effect when it comes to my stories so, for example, if I elevate the MC’s social status into an Ars Goetia nobleman, you’d best believe I’m gonna do something with it.

We’re still in the early stages of the story for P&B; I don’t anticipate Vox and Valentino coming in till a little bit later after I’ve finished setting somethings up for Blitzø and Stolas. But for what I’ve got planned, Vox and Valentino and Alastor represent a faction (the Overlords) that have traditionally never sided with any of the two factions (the Royalist faction and the Noble faction), so they essentially represent a wild card in the power struggle. The concept of the Royal and Noble factions will be introduced in ch4.

Vox is a media mogul. He’s the TV Demon. He’s the guy who’s established his very own monopoly (Voxflix, Voxtagram, etc.) in Hell and is a nice juxtaposition against someone like, say, the Radio Demon who is seemingly “openly affiliated” with the young Crown Princess Charlie Morningstar and “her pet project” (Happy Hotel). Having someone who has his fingers in several pies would be immensely powerful, especially someone who is said to wield a monopoly over modern tech. As someone who has considerate sway over the info wars, having him available to help spread propaganda and censor certain demons is immensely powerful.

Valentino, on the other hand, has some old beef with Prince Stolas. It’s gonna be a challenge to get him on the Royalist’s side, so comparing the pair (V&V), Vox might seem like “the more sensible demon” for Blitzø to try to approach first and win over. He’s the charming moth demon/ Overlord known for his sadistic temperament and is a kingpin in the porn industry in the story. If you treat him and his girls well, he can be a potential informer AKA you scratch my back, I scratch yours. At this early point of the story, Blitzø won’t quite know Valentino’s game yet so he has to figure out what’s his way in for him. (I know what that “way in” is, but that’s a secret for now, teehee~)

For V/V’s relationship aspect: note, I might change my mind later, but I’m currently planning for V&V to be already hinted to be in an established on-and-off relationship (or, at least, they’re interested in each other) when Blitzø & Stolas interact with them. V&V will have to be reconciled and their relationship actualized—and that’s basically our way in (towards tipping the scale).

That’s essentially their role I have planned in the story. They’re part of the supporting cast of secondary characters whom I think would be fun challenges to try to win over—and would be crucial in bucking Hell’s current status quo. We gotta rope these two in from the Overlords side and get them working for us.

We also have to keep in mind that the story centers on the developing relationship between an aristocratic assassin and a prince—and getting these two toward a Happy Ending. And with the ML being a prince—and his dad being Paimon, aka one of thee most loyal supporters of Lucifer, we can already begin to see which faction we’re leaning toward supporting in this story through the eyes of our MC. ;)
