Calum’s hands caressed the side of your hips and got eagerly down your shirt. He pulled it up and you extended your arms making it easier for him to get it off you. As soon as he did he bent to kiss your neck making you moan softly as he hit a sweet spot. Calum smiled proudly to himself that he had made you moan for the first time.
You couldn’t believe this was finally happening. It was your fifth date with Calum and although you both had decided to take it slow, not wanting to ruin your friendship of many years, you couldn’t wait anymore and you asked him to take you to his house as soon as dinner was over. Calum couldn’t deny that request, having you on his bed was everything he had been able to think about for the last few weeks.
His hands trailed their way down your stomach and a small sound of surprise left your lips as he took both your skirt and underwear off you in one movement and without any warning. His fingers caroused the inside of your thighs slowly, making your hips buckle up.
“You look even prettier naked than I had imagined” he stated before leaning down to kiss between your breasts. He noticed your breath accelerating and he took it as a sign to keep going. One of his hands traveled back to your left breast as his mouth played with your right one. Your moans were getting louder and you started to feel light-headed. You knew you shouldn’t be feeling as much pleasure as you were but the anticipation that had been building up for the past month had you almost reaching your high just at the thought of the next steps.
“Are you enjoying this, babe?” Calum whispered to your ear after bitting your earlobe gently making you shiver. You nodded. “I want words, sweetheart” he said in a more authoritarian tone that made your walls clench.
“Yes, Luke” you moaned. You opened your eyes and covered your mouth with your hands as soon as you realized what you had just said. Calum took his hands off you and leaned back on his knees. “I’m so sorry” was the only thing you could say as you sat up.
“Did you just say Luke? You are thinking about someone else the first time we’re having sex?” Calum said, not being able to hide the fact that you had hurt his feelings.
“No, I swear I’m not” you tried to explain seeing the expression of disappointment on his face. “I wasn’t even thinking and I guess I’m used to saying that”
“You’re used to moaning “Luke”?” Calum asked raising his voice a little.
“I guess so. He’s the only person I’ve ever had sex with. But it was just that, sex, no feelings involved. And we stopped as soon as you and I got closer, I figured he had probably told you. I’m so sorry Calum I swear this won’t happen ever again, I don’t know why I said that” you could tell Calum’s expression was changing. His jaw unclenched as he understood what was going on and you could see his eyes filled with lust again making you relax.
“So Luke has enjoyed all of this before me?” Calum said as he looked at your now completely naked body from top to bottom piercingly, making you feel intimidated. “Answer me, sweet girl” he demanded. You could tell his tone was serious but playful at the same time and you leaned back on the mattress as he placed himself on top of you, with each of his hands at one side of your head. You swallowed hard before answering.
“Yes”
“How many times?”
“I don’t know, more than 10?″ you answered hesitantly.
“You don’t even know how many times he’s been inside of you? You’re making me very jealous here, you know that right?” you shook your head no since that had never been your intention.
“I didn’t mean to” you managed to say as his face got closer and closer to yours.
“Well, I think you know pretty well what you’re doing to me” he smiled at you, tracing your lips with his right index finger. “Get it wet for me, darling?” he asked making you groan. You opened your mouth and sucked on his finger until he took it out. “Such a good girl for me” he said making you shiver. He started to play with your right nipple with that finger as he continued. “I didn’t think we would but now that you’ve upset me, we’re gonna need a safe word, y/n. That word is gonna be red” he said as he looked at your red lingerie he had just thrown to the floor. “So if at any time you feel uncomfortable or want to stop you say red and I’ll stop, okay?” he asked with his normal tone to make sure you understood this was important.
“I understand Calum” you said, impatient for him to touch you more.
“And if you ever want to call me anything else than my name again during sex, you can call me daddy, babygirl” you closed your thighs looking for some friction as those words left his mouth but you also couldn’t help but giggle softly. “Are you making fun of me?”
“No, I would never. It’s just that I didn’t expect this” you tried to explain but Calum wasn’t even listening to you anymore. He closed the space between you two with a sloppy kiss. You had never shared a kiss like that before and it turned you on more than you’d like to admit. Calum then continued to press open mouth kisses all over your cheeks, lips, and jaw, taking special care of that sweet spot he had found before. He placed both his hands on your breast playing with your nipples. You moved one of your hands down to your slit to try and release some of the pressure.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Calum asked as he took your hand intertwining his fingers with yours. “Only I can touch you”. He took your other hand and put both your arms above your head, holding your wrists with his left hand. He thought about tying them but he didn’t, afraid it would be too much for you, he didn’t want to scare you away. You moaned at his words.
“Touch me then” you demanded.
“You can’t use that tone on me, baby. Be polite”
“Can you please touch me, Calum?” he was dying for you to call him daddy but again, he decided not to insist for now.
“Of course I can, princess” he said as his right hand left your breast and separated your thighs. His fingers teased your entrance making you whine with desperation. His thumb started to rub circles over your clit and a loud moan escaped your lips. Without making you wait anymore he introduced two fingers on you slowly, watching you as your back curled from the pleasure. He was definitely enjoying the sight.
“Oh my god, Calum” you managed to say as you moved your hips trying to fit as much of his fingers in as you could. His fingers started pulling in and out of you at a steady pace, too slow for your liking. “Can you go faster, please?” you pleaded. Calum smirked and added one more finger as he fastened the pace. You could feel the knot in your stomach getting bigger and bigger. You closed your eyes and groaned. Calum noticed you were curling your toes and figured you were very close so he pulled away.
“What the fuck?” you screamed.
“Shh, pretty girl. I told you you can’t talk to me like that. You’ve made me upset so now I have to punish you. We’re gonna engage in some cum play. You’re not allowed to come until I tell you to, okay?”
“What?” you asked confused, the frustration you were feeling from your denied orgasm blocking you from understanding him.
“You’ll see” was the only thing he said. “Don’t move your arms he instructed as he let go of your wrists. He placed himself between your legs, grabbing your thighs and you shivered as you felt his breath hit your pussy. A soft moan left your lips while his tongue traced your inner lips and he licked your clit gently. Suddenly his moves turned quick and rough and you were almost over the edge again. You grabbed his hair without even realizing it.
“What did I say?” Calum said making your pussy vibrate.
“Sorry” you replied moving your hands quickly back to where Calum wanted them. He played with your clit softly as he fucked you with his tongue and right when he felt you clench, almost reaching your orgasm again, he pulled away. You couldn’t help but scream at the sudden loss of contact just when you needed it the most. The scream was so loud that it scared Calum.
“Red?” he asked quickly, wanting to make sure he wasn’t screwing things up and you were enjoying this as much as he was.
“No, not red, definitely not red” Calum giggled at your reaction.
“Okay, pretty girl, can you put this on me?” he asked as he handed you a condom. You took it eagerly and moved so you were on your knees. Calum had already taken off his pants and you removed his boxers. You didn’t know what had gotten into you but at that moment you felt like you were mentally in another place, like you weren’t present in that room but you were loving the feeling. You ripped the condom wrapper with your teeth and leaned down to put it on Calum’s member. You looked up at him to see that he was biting his lower lip at the view. “So pretty for me” he hummed. You licked the tip of his member knowing he wouldn’t expect it and watched him as he tilted his head back making a deep noise that made you wetter than you already were. You softly rolled the condom down his penis. “Thank you” Calum said when you were done. Suddenly he held you up so that he could kiss you and once he was done he turned you around, your ass facing his member.
A second later he thrust into you so hard that his balls crashing against your clit hurt more than the penetration itself. He held your hands on your back making you lean on your chest and face. He kept his movements fast, resting every couple of minutes. You had been on the edge for a while now, trying to contain yourself.
“Calum” you whined.
“Yes?”
“Can I come?” you asked figuring that if you asked he’d let you.
“Oh, no, sweetheart, not yet”
“I don’t think I know how to stop it”
“Yes you do, you just have to concentrate” Calum said as he felt your walls clenching around him, more and more each time. He pulled out giving you a break. You groaned and your whole body fell onto the mattress as he let go of your arms. “You’re being such a good girl for me, y/n” Calum spoke as he shifted your position so that your back was facing the bed now. “Are you gonna let me fuck that little pussy of yours until I destroy it, babygirl?” he asked running his fingers up and down your thigs. Your mind was spinning from the overstimulation and how much his words turned you on but you could barely make a “hmmm” noise in response and Calum could tell you were already pretty tired. “No baby, I need words” he said kissing you so that you’d be more alert. You forced yourself to speak.
“Yes”
“Yes, what?”
“Yes, please” you begged opening your eyes.
“Yes, please...” Calum teased as he lined his tip with your entrance.
“Yes, please, daddy” you pleaded and you could feel his member twitch at your words.
“Fuck, baby” he moaned. He thrust into you slowly this time, so slow that it hurt making you whine and tears started to build in your eyes. He kept that pace for a few minutes until you were almost crying from the need of reaching your release. “Daddy...”
“Just ask and you’ll be served”
“Fuck me hard” you said struggling to get the words out of your mouth, you had never felt so vulnerable and dominated before but you were enjoying it. And so he did. Calum thrust into you with a newfound pace, not too fast but not too slow. You thought that was it, your moans started to get louder as you felt the knot so close to exploding, but then he pulled out. Your eyes filled with tears from the frustration once again but before you could even complain he was thrusting into you again. Unfortunately for you, that wouldn’t be the last time he’d do it. He kept you from orgasming 3 more times. Tears run down your cheeks at that point but groans and moans louder than ever came out of your throat too. You had never felt so many intense emotions at the same time.
“You can come for me now” Calum said grabbing your jaw to make you look at him. Now that you had finally been given permission you didn’t even know if you had the ability to orgasm anymore. “Concentrate, sweet girl. I know it may seem like you can’t, but I know you can” you breathed out and shook your head trying to stay present. “I’m going to help you by counting down from 5, okay? And then you’ll come” you nodded but you really weren’t sure it was going to happen.
“5″ Calum kissed one of your cheeks. “4″ he kissed the other. “3″ he kissed your lips, your moans getting louder with every thrust. “2″ he rubbed your clit. “And 1″ he said placing his right hand on your neck making a soft pressure as his left hand kept working on your clit. “Come for me now, princess” he whispered in your ear and you felt the huge pressure on your lower abdomen finally releasing.
You kept screaming Calum’s name on repeat as you felt the biggest rush of adrenaline taking over your body and especially your brain. Your back arched and your whole body shook. With a few more thrusts Calum came undone and he laid over you. You could feel his pressure but you couldn’t even open your eyes. Your breath was still more accelerated than you ever remembered it to be.
As soon as Calum regained his normal breath, he removed himself from top of you and looked down at you. Tears kept escaping your eyes. He threw the condom away and removed a couple of strands of hair off your face. He knew you were there but your mind wasn’t.
“y/n” he spoke softly, trying to get a reaction from you. When he saw you didn’t answer he decided to lay next to you, so that you could feel the warmth of his body. You still didn’t speak but you shifted so that you were more comfortable, resting your head on his chest. He admired how beautiful you looked all fucked out in his arms, almost like you belonged to him. After Calum had given you a few minutes, he tried to make you speak again.
“Love, I need to know that you’re fine, talk to me?” he asked, getting concerned when you still didn’t reply. His heart started to race, it was normal to be in the subspace after what you had just done but you should be back by now. “Hey” he shook your shoulders lightly. “y/n, you okay?” he asked again. “I’m gonna go get you a wet towel”.
When he came back with the towel and placed it on your forehead, you took a deep breath and opened your eyes slowly. Calum was looking at you with a concerned look that relaxed as he saw your eyes open. He run his fingers up and down your arms as he looked at you with the most loving eyes you had ever seen.
“There’s my girl” he smiled and you smiled back.
“I’m here daddy” you replied feeling like you were regaining your ability to think.
Calum frowned as he said “no, no daddy now, okay? I’m me, it’s Calum” you shook your head again, trying to organize your thoughts.
“Calum, that was fucking intense” you said after a few seconds making him giggle.
“Was that the first time you had done that kind of dynamic?” Calum asked laying back next to you and wrapping you with his legs and arms, your head resting on one of his arms and looking at him. You nodded. “I shouldn’t have pushed you so far, I’m so sorry, I got lost in the moment”
“No, it’s fine. It was incredible and probably the best orgasm I’ve ever had” you said.
“But still, it was too much for your body, you shouldn’t have been gone for so long after, I’m sorry” he repeated. “I won’t push it that much next time” he kissed your lips softly.
“I’m sorry about the Luke thing”
“Don’t worry about it, I made you pay for it” he winked at you making you giggle. “No but really, it’s fine, I get it”:
“I had no idea you were into this kind of stuff” you said after a few seconds making Calum blush.
“I... I guess I am” he said making you laugh.
“We’ll talk more about it in the morning” you suggested “I’m curious now, that was really good”.
“I’m glad you liked it, I wasn’t planning on letting you know about my kinks so early on but I couldn’t control myself” he explained. “How are you feeling?”
“Tired” you said, jawning right after. “Do you mind if I sleep here?” you asked him.
“Not at all” he said bringing you even closer if that was even possible and covering you both with his sheets. You fell asleep even before he could kiss you goodnight (he did anyway) and he fell asleep at the sight of your peaceful face resting on his arm, feeling so in love with you he couldn’t even begin to explain it.

Requested: based on the prompt “can I kiss you right now?”. Request are always open and they don’t have to be prompt based, feel free to request anything you want!
A/N: hi! I don’t know how to feel about this one. I’ve spent the whole day writing it and I still feel it could be better but I don’t hate it ig. I like that it has like flashbacks idk. I got kinda caught up in my own feelings so this may be too fluffy or cheesy. Feedback is really appreciated! I’d really love to know what you think about it. Enjoy!

You didn’t really like parties that much, but it was Luke’s birthday party, so you figured it would be rude not to go. You and Luke had been best friends since he moved to LA and somehow you had never been able to spend his birthday with him until this year, so you were excited.
You finished getting ready and headed to Luke’s house. It was a 10 minutes walk so before you could even realize it, you were already there. You would have lied if you had said you weren’t a bit nervous too. You knew it was gonna be crowded and you were afraid your anxiety would strike when you needed it the less.
Besides, it was gonna be the first time you saw Calum since quarantine started. You wouldn’t care if it wasn’t because the last time you saw him you told him how you felt. You had known Calum for a couple of years now. In the beginning, you saw him just like one of Luke’s bandmates but as time went by, you started falling in love with him. You tried to deny it even to yourself because you were convinced you had no chance with him but it didn’t make your feelings go away.
You had told Luke you liked Calum a couple of months ago. “I know” was his answer after you explained to him how you had silently fallen for his best friend. You weren’t even surprised, no one knew you better than Luke. What you didn’t expect was him telling you that you should go for it.
You were two years younger than Luke and from the moment you got close, he had acted like a big brother. He was always trying to protect you and rarely approved any of the boys you had been with. So it was quite a surprise when he told you he thought Calum may be the one for you.
“Oh, c’mon Luke. You’re giving me false hopes here... you know Calum would never go out with someone like me”
“What are you talking about, y/n? You’re the most awesome girl I know, and also the funniest, you know Calum loves that”
“I’m also younger than him, I’m sure he sees me just like you, like a little sister to protect. I’m not doing it, Luke, I don’t wanna lose him. I’ve gotten used to loving him in silence, it’s fine”
“Why have you told me then? You were hoping I’d say this. I think you are meant for each other, and you may be younger but you are way more mature than any of us. Don’t forget I know him too if I’m telling you that you should try it is because I really think it’s going to work”
You didn’t even know how but he had convinced you to invite Calum over that same day and as soon as he got to your house, Luke left the two of you alone. You could see the confused look Calum gave him as he said goodbye. “Good luck” he shouted as he closed the door making you blush.
“So... what are we doing here? I thought the rest of the guys were coming too”
“No, it’s just you and me tonight” you answered awkwardly. “Do you want anything to drink?”
“A beer will be fine”
You brought him a beer and served yourself a tequila, hoping the alcohol would give you the courage you lacked. You talked about your day and when you realized the conversation was dying out you decided it was time to tell him.
“So you’re probably still wondering what you’re doing here” he nodded in response “yeah, me too. Luke convinced me to do this and now I guess there’s no going back”. You shifted on your sit of the couch not knowing how to word your feelings. He was staring at you, waiting for you to continue.
“Okay, you know we’ve known each other for a couple of years now, right? well, of course, you know. We’ve spent quite a lot of time together, I’d say we’ve become good friends and I enjoy so much spending time with you because you always make me laugh and you are always there to listen and give advice when someone needs you. So I don’t know what I want to happen after I say this and I don’t know how to say this”
“Just say it y/n, it will be fine” he encouraged you. You took a deep breath and raised your head to look at him.
“I really like you Calum” he laughed and you gave him a confused look. “What?” you questioned.
“I like you too, y/n, you’re one of my best friends” you sighed and shook your head.
“No, that’s not what I mean Cal. I have feelings for you, I think I love you” you looked down and waited for him to say something. When he didn’t, you could feel the tears building up in your eyes. You felt Calum standing up from the couch. “Where are you going?” you managed to ask.
“I’m sorry, y/n. I can’t do this right now” you felt your heart break in a thousand pieces as you heard the door close and you called Luke.
“I don’t know what to say, y/n. I’m so sorry, I swear I thought he would react differently, I don’t know what’s up with him” Luke explained himself as he cuddled up with you. He stayed at your house that night and that was the last time you had seen any of them since quarantine had started just a few days later.
Of course, you had kept in touch with Luke, calling each other or facetiming almost every day, but you hadn’t heard of Calum since then. When Luke told you he’d be at the party your first reaction was to get mad at him for inviting you both but five minutes later you realized you were both his friends and there was no reason why Luke shouldn’t have invited him, you know? not liking you back wasn’t a crime after all.
Luke opened the door and all of your fears went away, you had missed him so much these last months that the only thing you could think about now was being with him. You went in, said “hello” to everyone who had already arrived and sat next to Luke.
“I’ve brought you something”, you said receiving a disapproving look from him. “Before you say it, I know you didn’t want any presents but I have never been with you on your birthday so please make an exception, besides, it’s not like I’ve spent a lot of money on it or whatever”.
You handed Luke his present and you could see the sparkle on his eyes while he opened it, you knew that deep inside he loved receiving gifts, he just hated people spending money on him. It was a book filled with polaroids of your favorite memories with him and you had written exactly how you had felt in those moments. You knew Luke would appreciate way more something handmade, personalized, and something you had spent your time in rather than something you had just bought.
“Oh wow, this is beautiful, y/n, I love you so much, thank you for taking the time to make this!” he told you while he hugged you and you couldn’t help but giggle at his excitement.
The night went by, as usual, nothing really out of the ordinary. Calum had arrived only a few minutes after you but you both had avoided each other the whole night. It hadn’t been hard since he spent most of the time in the kitchen playing games while you stayed in the living room talking to your friends.
A couple hours after midnight people started to leave and when everyone had gone, you, the band, and their girlfriends offered to help Luke clean all the mess. You were washing the dishes and glasses when you heard the door of the kitchen close. You turned around and saw Calum standing almost too close to you for your liking.
“Hello”, you said trying to be polite and hide the fact that you still felt embarrassed for opening up about your feelings. “Have you had a great night?” you asked him turning to continue your task and to try to hide your blush.
“It’s been great, yeah”, at the sound of his voice you felt a slight shiver running down your body, it felt like a lifetime since the last time you had heard it. Suddenly you felt his hands on your hips and his breath on your neck. You could feel the tension building up between you two but you didn’t know how to react so you kept washing.
At the lack of response from you, he moved to your side and started helping you. You sighed relieved at the same time as frustrated for the loss of contact. You kept going in silence until you had finished.
“It’s pretty late, I’m gonna head home”, you told him. You went to open the door but he grabbed your wrist making you turn and pulling you close to him.
“As you said, it’s late, let me give you a ride” he offered and you nodded. Luke opened the door and Calum let go of you.
“Am I interrupting something?” he asked confused.
“Ha, ha, very funny. No, I was just offering y/n a ride home”
“Are you okay with that. y/n? If you wait for a second, I can drive you”
“No, that’s fine Luke. I’ll go with Calum” you answered. You were feeling the tension between you and Calum still growing and although you knew you may end up heartbroken once again, you were curious where it could lead to. You said your goodbyes and got in Calum’s car.
Calum put on some music and you closed your eyes trying to relax but all the tension came back to your body as Calum placed his hand on your thigh. You left a soft gasp and grabbed his hand as an instinct, but you didn’t pull it away. Calum started to draw small circles with his thumb and continued to move his hand slowly closer to your inner thigh. His touch felt so warm and familiar, it was comforting. You arrived home and Calum got out of the car almost instantly. It was fair to say you were more than confused by his behavior.
You got out of the car and were surprised by Calum quickly closing the door and pushing you against it.
“I know I’m an asshole but please, I am begging you, can I kiss you right now?” you nodded frantically and it took him less than a second to press his lips against yours. You opened your lips slightly desperate to finally taste him and he slipped his tongue inside your mouth. He pushed your legs apart with his and you left a soft moan. After a few seconds, he pulled away and you could tell his eyes were filled with lust.
“What was that? I mean, you know how I feel about you so I can’t say I didn’t enjoy it, but why did you do it?”
“I am a mess for you, y/n. You are all I can think about. I’ve spent my days in quarantine looking at our photos together and remembering every moment I’ve spent with you. You don’t know how many times I’ve been about to call you but I never summoned up the courage to do it. I’ve liked you since the first time I saw you, at this time you’ve proved to me you’re the kindest and bravest person on this Earth and every time you give me more motives to fall in love with you. Luke advised you to tell me because all the band has known how I feel for years. I’m so sorry if I hurt you in any way, trust me, it was the last thing I wanted”
“Why did you leave? I’ve spent these few months trying to get over you. I don’t get it, Cal. You left me thinking I had lost one of the people I care for the most not only as a potential partner but also as a friend”
“I know, Luke told me. I really am sorry. I am such a coward. My first reaction was to run away because that’s what I always do when I feel vulnerable. You know I haven’t had a stable relationship in years and you’re part of the reason why. I could only imagine my future with you and I didn’t think it was fair to start something with anybody else if I thought it wasn’t going to last. I swear I’m not lying when I say you’re the only person I’ve thought about for the longest time. But I never got any sign from you that could mean you felt the same so I got used to my love for you being platonic. Besides I know you don’t like being on the public eye that much and it has given you anxiety the few times paparazzi have followed you with Luke so I thought we were better out as friends and I never tried anything.
And then when you confessed your feelings I tried to tell you how I felt but I couldn’t get the words out of my mouth. I started to think about being in a relationship and I got scared of commitment and everything it implies so I left. I don’t think I’ve ever regretted any decision as much as that one. I know I don’t deserve you to forgive me but, please, could you give me a second chance?”
“You know you could have fixed this before, right?”
“Yes, I know. I’m sorry for that too. I thought you probably hated me and I didn’t know what to say exactly. If I’m being honest, until tonight, my plan was to act as if nothing happened and just try to be your friend again but then I saw you tonight with this little red dress that drives me crazy if I’m allowed to say so” you nodded and smiled at him “Well, I saw you and I talked to Luke and somehow I decided I would try to tell you tonight and if it didn’t work I’d leave you alone because that’s the least you deserve. You’ve possibly noticed I didn’t exactly have a plan but suddenly I just felt like I needed to be in contact with you, touch you, kiss you, as if I needed to hold on to you and never let go. As I’ve said, I am a mess, I am feeling things more intense than I ever had before that I don’t fully understand yet and just being around you makes me so happy I don’t ever wanna lose you. I love you, y/n”. You wrapped your arms around his neck and gave him a short peck. You pressed your foreheads together, feeling each other’s breaths.
“I already told you, but I love you too, Calum, so much. You’re lucky I do because I don’t know if I’d give you a second chance otherwise” he sighed relieved.
“I have to warn you, you’re gonna have to be patient, I’m new to all of this” Calum said pointing at the two of you.
“What do you mean by “this”? A relationship?” you teased.
“I guess so, y/n, I’ve never done this before and it may be weird, old-fashioned or whatever but I feel like asking this would be a great start for our relationship. Y/n, do you wanna be my girlfriend?”
“Of course I do, you cheesy idiot!” you giggled and he kissed you again pressing you against the car for the second time. Your tongues danced perfectly synchronized as you played with the curls at the back of his head. You pulled them slightly and Calum let out a quiet moan, which was exactly what you were hoping for.
“Do you wanna come inside?” you asked as you bit your lip and shifted your position so that his back was pressed to the car now.
“As much as I’d love to say yes, I think we should take this slow. I don’t wanna rush it and screw things up” he said pulling a strand of hair off your face. You pouted making him giggle. “C’mon, let me at least take you out for a date first, what do you say about dinner tomorrow?”
“Fine, but I expect a great dessert after it” you winked at him and blushed right after. “Don’t mind me, I do stupid things when I’m horny”.
“It was cute”
“But it was supposed to be sexy” he laughed and you followed him. “I guess you’re gonna have to get used to your new girlfriend failing to be sexy”
“Trust me, you are sexy just by existing. So, do I pick you up tomorrow at 8?”
“That sounds perfect, Cal” he hugged you and you wrapped your arms around his torso “I’ve never said this before but your hugs have always made me feel safe, I’m so glad it’s not weird to say that out loud anymore”
“You are the cutest. But y/n, I really meant it when I said you are gonna have to be patient with me. I’m not used to being in a relationship or sharing my feelings but I promise I’ll try my best to make this work”
“It’s okay, we’ll work it out together, step by step. We need to earn each other’s trust first, it’s normal if you don’t feel like opening up just yet”
“You really are the kindest girl ever, how did I get this lucky?” you pulled away from his embrace.
“I’m gonna go to sleep, see you tomorrow Cal”
“See you tomorrow babe” you couldn’t help but blush at the pet name. You kissed him goodbye and got into your apartment happier than you had ever been.
“Congrats, mate!” Luke said once you had closed your door.
“What are you doing here, Luke? Were you watching us? That’s creepy man”
“Of course I was! Did you guys really think I was gonna leave the two of you alone after last time?”
“Fair enough”
“Although there was a point when I thought you were gonna get inside and that was awkward to watch but the point is that I’m glad you didn’t”
“Yeah, I told her it is better if we take things slow”
“I agree. By the way, don’t you dare hurt her again Calum or else I don’t know what I’ll do”
“Don’t worry, I don’t plan on hurting her, I swear. In fact, I really like her Luke, I think she has always been the one”
“I know, I can tell by the huge smile that doesn’t leave your face” Luke teased him.
“Oh, shut up!” they both laughed and decided it was time to wrap up the night and head home.

“Why don’t we do it now? This way, when lockdown ends, we’ll be able to go on a proper date, I want to take you to that restaurant you said you loved”
You and Luke had been dating for a while and you had spent self-isolation at his house, falling even more in love with him (and Petunia) that you were before. You had met through your best friend, who happened to walk Petunia when Luke was too busy. When you first started seeing each other, he explained he hadn’t had the best experiences with his exes and the public eye, so he preferred to wait until you told anyone, and until now, only your closest friends knew about it.
It had been hard for you, especially at the beginning. You were used to having dinner dates or just going for a walk with the person you were getting to know so it was weird not being able to go out together. But it was all worth it because you enjoyed every moment you got to spend at his house, at yours or at a party with many more people around, you didn’t care as long as he was there. After only three or four “dates” you realized you were falling for him, and you were falling fast. So, when he asked you to spend quarantine at his house, you had no doubt about accepting. You could easily work from there and you lived by yourself so you figured it would be better to have some company, not even knowing for how long you’d have to stay inside.
After almost 5 months of living together, your relationship had gotten a lot stronger. At this point, you had shared with each other all your secrets, you knew each other’s routines and you had learned to read each other as if you had known each other your whole lives.
A few days ago Luke had suggested you told your families. His mum already knew about it, since she was the person Luke trusted the most, but she was excited to talk to you for the first time. After the skype call with his family and how smooth it had been, you were thrilled to tell your parents.
You didn’t expect their reaction at all since they were everything but supportive. They got angry at you for lying to them and hiding the relationship in the first place and then they started to bomb Luke with questions when you told them he was a singer. They even said they were sure he had better options than you and would leave you as soon as all this covid19 situation ended. It was Luke who ended the call, furious they were insinuating you weren’t good enough for him when you were everything he had ever dreamt of. That night you cried yourself to sleep on his arms, sad and frustrated, while he kept repeating softly at you ear how lucky he was to have you by his side.
It was a rough night and it made you realized that not everyone’s reaction was going to be good. You hadn’t really stopped to think about what people would think before, but now that you had, it was terrifying. You were confident and you felt proud of your achievements but you knew you weren’t perfect. You had your insecurities and you were afraid people would point them out. What if everyone thought you weren’t good enough for Luke? What if he really deserved someone better than you?
You had been so focused on building a strong relationship between you two that you were now afraid that letting others in would ruin it. But you knew it had to be done sooner or later, you couldn’t live in the comfort of his house forever, not that you would mind, but things had to get slowly back to normal.
“Babe, are you sure it is the right time to go public? Everyone has a lot of free time and spends the day on social media” you asked, hoping he would give you a few more days to get used to the idea.
“Yes, I am more than ready now. I know it was me who told you we should wait but after spending all this time in quarantine with you, I just wanna show you to the world and show them our love. I’ve never felt as comfortable with anyone as I do with you and I want the fans to see it, I want them to know you’re the reason I’m happy. Besides, they suspect I have a girlfriend already and I want them to know who did my makeup on CALM’s release and who helped me film the wildflower music video. I love you, and I want them to know you”
“How are you so cheesy?” you giggled and pressed your lips together on a short peck. “Okay, how should we do it?”
“I was thinking we could just post something on Instagram, it’s the easiest way”
“Yeah, let’s take some pics!”
“What? Like now?”
“Yeah now”
“But we look like shit”
“Speak for yourself Hemmings, and that’s the point, cozy homey vibes” he laughed and nodded.
You moved the mirror so it was in front of your bed and arranged the bedsheets. He sat on the bed with his back pressed to the wall and you sat in between his legs. After a few minutes of him and you trying to take the perfect picture with your phones, you decided you had enough to choose from.
“Wait here, I’ll be back in a sec”, you told him, getting up from the bed and going downstairs to get your polaroid camera. “I want to keep a physical memory of this moment, the last few minutes of us being private, of our relationship being just ours”, you said once you were back on the room.
Luke looked up from his phone screen and smiled at you. He opened his arms as a sign for you to get closer to him. You placed the camera carefully on the bed and hugged him, sitting on top of his legs with yours wrapped around him.
“That was a little dramatic, are you okay?” you sighed and sat up looking at him.
“Yes, I’m okay. It’s just that I’ve been thinking and I’m scared of the media and the fan’s reaction. I hadn’t thought much about it but after my parents... what if everyone thinks I’m not good enough?”
“Shh... don’t even think that. You’re perfect for me, I swear to god”
“But you know people are mean online and I’m not like you. I’m just a normal girl, not a singer, not a supermodel, not an influencer, not nearly as pretty as your exes, I’m just me”
“And you are everything I need, and the most beautiful person I’ve met” you smiled shily and rested your head on his chest, wrapping your arms around his torso once again.
“I know, but I’ve never had a public life and I guess I’m afraid people will judge me, criticize me, my body, or question my actions or my decisions, you know?”
“Believe me, I get it, babe. And I know it is a hard decision, I’m sorry I’m making you go through it but you know it would be impossible to keep this from them forever”
“No, I know, I want to go out with you like a normal couple, and I knew what I was getting into when I met you, you don’t have to be sorry”
“I’m not gonna lie to you sweetheart, some people are probably gonna send us hate or comment hurtful things and there’s not much we can do about it” you nodded in understanding “but, besides that, I promise I will never let anything bad happen to you, I will protect you over anything, do you hear me? And I know you don’t need anyone to protect you, but just in case” you giggled.
“Thank you, babe, I think I needed to hear that. It’s just scary to expose myself to the world”
“I know. But I’m here to defend you, babygirl, always”
You took the polaroid and laid together on your bed while you choose the pictures you were gonna upload and edited them. Once they were ready, you posted them at the same time and turned off your phones to enjoy a relaxing shower together.

The sun rays were coming through the curtains. Luke woke up opening his eyes slowly. He turned to face you, still peacefully sleeping. He smiled to himself, feeling lucky to be sleeping by your side.
It wasn’t the first time you were sharing the same bed since you had gone to visit him on tour a couple of times and you had stayed in the same hotel room, but it was actually your first time sleeping at his house. Luke didn’t know why it had taken him so long to invite you over, but he just wanted to be sure how he felt before he took any more steps on the relationship. Now he knew this morning would be the first of many waking up by your side.
It was hot so at some point throughout the night you had taken off Luke’s shirt and you were now only wearing your underwear. Luke couldn’t help but to stare at your body and admire your beauty. A thought came to his mind and he decided to wake you up with a surprise.
He took some strands of hair out of your face and kissed you on your cheek. He chuckled as he realized you hadn’t reacted at all. He continued placing soft kisses all over your face. When he could feel you were starting to wake up he kissed your lips letting his passion show. You were completely awake by then.
“what are you doing, Lu?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper while his lips were still on yours.
“waking my princess up” he said while he moved to start leaving wet kisses over your neck and shoulders. You whimpered when he put one of your nipples between his fingers playing with it.
“if you want me to stop just tell me” he stated, looking up to observe your reaction. You shook your head.
“I love morning sex”
“Oh, that’s good to know” he sucked on your neck harder this time making you moan his name. One of his hands went down to massage your clit over the fabric of your panties. He suddenly stopped and you opened your eyes, looking down at him. He had a confused look on his face and when he brought his hand up, you noticed his fingers were red.
“I-I think you’re bleeding...” you blushed immediately and sat up making Luke move to the side so he wasn’t on top of you. You looked in between your legs and saw a small circle of blood on the sheets and covering your panties.
“Fuck Luke, I’m so sorry. It wasn’t supposed to come until next week”
“It’s okay, don’t worry. Go take a shower, I’ll wash the sheets”
“No, don’t, it was my fault, I’ll clean them up”
“I said I’ll do it y/n, it’s nobody’s fault, it just happens” he kissed you and you relaxed smiling at him and feeling thankful that he was being so understanding.
“Do you have... you know... feminine hygiene products?” you laughed softly watching him trying to find the correct words.
“No, I wasn’t prepared but I’ll take the shower and go home, it’s okay, I don’t bleed that much the first day” Luke frowned.
“I don’t want you to leave, I want to have breakfast with you. What do you usually use? I’ll go buy it”
“What? Luke, you don’t have to do that, I can just go home, change and come back”
“No, I said I’m going to buy them and anyways we’ll need to have some here just in case for the next times you sleepover”
“So, does that mean that there will be more sleepovers?” you asked.
“Of course there’ll be more, babe, now please tell me what you need”
“Okay, I usually use pads, any of them will be fine, thank you Lu” you told him, giving in.
“Perfect, I’ll be back before your shower ends” he said standing up and grabbing the car keys.
“Oh, and Luke?” you shouted at him as he was running down the stairs.
“Yes, babe?”
“I love you” you had been wanting to tell him for a long time but you were insecure and you were waiting for him to say it first. But at this point, it felt like none of your insecurities mattered and after how good he was treating you, you needed to let him know how you felt. Luke turned around and you stood up from the bed as you saw him enter his room.
“It’s okay if you don’t feel like saying it back yet, you and I weren’t in the same place when we started the relationship and I know everything you went through last year, I just needed to tell you but please don’t say it back because you feel pressured to do so” Luke opened his arms and you ran to hug him. He placed a kiss on your head.
“I don’t think I’ve felt a connection as strong with anyone as I do with you, y/n. I can’t say it back just yet because I don’t wanna screw things up but I know I will soon” he explained. You smiled at him and gave him a short peck.
“It’s okay, I understand. Can you buy some painkillers too? My ovaries are starting to hurt”
“Of course babe, now go take that shower”

You had spent the last three hours tossing and turning in bed, you were in fact tired but you couldn’t stop thinking so it had been impossible to fall asleep. You looked at your phone to see that you had two hours before the alarm clock went off. You sighed and decided to make yourself a cup of tea to try to relax. You put on your clothes that had been tossed all around the room a few hours before and made your way to the kitchen.
The weather wasn’t helping either. There was a huge electric storm and although you loved rainy weather, it wasn’t easy to fall asleep with the loud sound of the thunders. You sat on the kitchen counter waiting for the tea to be ready and not wanting the next morning to arrive, not yet, you weren’t ready.
You and Luke had been dating for over a year and a half now and you had moved into his apartment four months ago. You knew when you started dating him that you would have to spend a lot of time apart but since the band had been working on their new album, he hadn’t had to travel for more than a few weeks yet. Now, he was going on a world tour for seven months and you didn’t think you could live without him for so long. Even if it sounded a bit dramatic, you were almost sure your relationship wasn’t going to survive this, but you hadn’t told Luke. You were so proud of him and everything he was achieving with the band that you didn’t want to let your feelings ruin that.
“y/n? what are you doing down here?” Luke’s sleepy voice pulled you out of your thoughts. You got off the kitchen counter and walked towards him.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you up, I know you need to rest. I can’t sleep”
“Aw, baby, is it because of the storm? You should have woken me up” he said wrapping his arms around your waist and resting his head on your shoulder. You took a step back, looked at him, and decided there was no point in keeping your feelings to yourself anymore, you had always thought that good communication was the basis of relationships.
“It’s not the storm Luke. I’m just afraid”
“Afraid of what?”
“I don’t want you to go. And I know that it sounds selfish and I’m sorry but I’m scared this will end our relationship. You know I’ve never felt like this with anyone before and seven months is a long time and you’re not even gonna be in the same time zone so phone calls aren’t gonna be that easy, not to talk about facetime... it’s gonna be impossible Luke and you’re gonna be out there having fun and going to all these cool places and meeting a lot of new people and I trust you, Luke, you know I do, but we can’t choose our emotions and yes, I just used your lyrics but the point is that I’m going to miss you so much and I don’t know if I can do this” you felt tears filling your eyes and you blinked trying to get rid of them but a few started to fall down your cheeks and it was impossible to stop the following ones. You covered your face with your hands and Luke wrapped his arms around you. You felt safe on his embrace and that made you cry even more at the thought of losing the person who made you feel like home. Luke brushed his fingers through your hair trying to calm you down.
“Shh, it’s okay, you don’t need to cry. I’m here now”. After a few minutes, your sobs stopped, although a few tears were still running down your cheeks. Luke took your hand and guided you to your bedroom. He laid down and signaled you to do the same. Your head was pressed against his chest and the sound of his heartbeat helped you relax.
“Take deep breaths, y/n. In and out” Luke guided you until you were completely calmed.
“I’m sorry”
“Shh, don’t you dare apologize. Your feelings are valid. I must say I’ve never seen you rumble like that before, it was impressive” you laughed softly at his words and he pressed a soft kiss on your head. “You should have told me before, I didn’t know you felt that way”
“Don’t you feel the same way?” You asked lifting your head to meet his ocean blue eyes.
“No. I mean, I’m going to miss you so much, please don’t ever doubt that. But I believe our relationship is strong enough to survive this, I truly do. And I know it’s not going to be easy, I’m not going to lie to you, but we can do this. We’ve gone through so much together. I promise I will call every day, it doesn’t matter where I am”
“Luke, I really don’t wanna lose you, I can’t lose you”
“I can’t lose you either, that’s why it’s not gonna happen, okay? And you can come to visit whenever you want, you know that too, right?”
“You know I can’t afford to travel to Europe or Asia, you dumbass, I’m not rich”
“We’re not having this discussion again, you know I’ll pay for it”
“Okay”
“Okay? That was impressively easy”
“Yes, okay, but only because I can’t spend seven months without seeing you. And I will repay you as soon as I can”
“There is my little girl” you giggled and Luke got closer to you brushing your noses together. You pressed your lips together on a sweet and full of love kiss that reminded you of the first ones you had shared all those months ago.
“You should get some sleep Luke” you said, trying to move to your side of the bed.
“Yes, but with you right here, please” you nodded and placed your head on his chest again, letting him wrap his arm around your waist pulling you even closer. “I love you, y/n. I promise this isn’t going to break us”
“How did I fall so in love with you, Luke?” you said, feeling sleepy for the first time that night.
“I don’t know baby, but I promise you won’t regret it”

It was almost midnight already. Lesley and Julia were supposed to meet their friends at the club about 15 minutes ago.
- I can't believe we're late again - Lesley said getting out of the uber after thanking the driver. - Me neither! I hope they don't get mad. I don't wanna start the night with an argument. - No, they won't. - How do you know that? - Julia asked while they walked quickly trying to get there as soon as possible. - Karen just texted saying she'll be here in ten, so we're not the only ones late. And they can't get mad to all three of us - Lesley placed her phone on the front pocket of her leather skirt and adjusted the white top she was wearing. - I know I already told you, but you look stunning tonight Lesy. - Thanks, Jules. - Promise me you're gonna try to have fun and please promise you're gonna stop overthinking. Just for tonight. - Okay, okay, I promise - They arrived at the club, their friends already standing by the front door. After waiting for Karen, they got in. - Are you all drinking tonight? - Lesley asked, raising her voice as they came closer to the bar - cause I definitely am - All of the girls nodded in response. - Okay then, I'll be the one controlling all of you tonight - Julia said receiving a few "thanks" from her friends.
Two weeks ago, Brandon had broken up with Lesley, after a 2 years relationship, by phone call. He hadn't even bothered to give her an explanation, arguing he didn't owe her anything. She had spent the last fifteen days crying and not wanting to get out of the house. After a lot of fighting, Julia, her flatmate, had convinced her to go out with all their friends, just a girls' night, without worrying about boys at all. Lesley had agreed just so she would stop listening to Julia begging day after day. About three hours later, all the girls were on the dance floor, enjoying themselves and having a good time, Julia included. She had started drinking an hour before, giving up to the girls asking her to do so. That meant that now there wasn't anyone to control the situation, but it felt right to all of them.
Lesley was feeling great for the first time in a while, and she decided she hadn't drunk enough, although anyone else could disagree on that. She walked back to the bar and waited for the bartender to notice her while she checked her phone. - Hello, what would you like? - a girl asked a moment later behind the counter. - A tequila please - she answered and reached for her purse realizing she hadn't actually brought one and her wallet was in Julia's - fuck - she muttered to herself and turned trying to find her friends, but they were nowhere to be found. She sighed trying to decide what to do but she couldn't really think straight at that moment. - Do you mind if I pay for it? - she heard a deep voice asking right behind her. When she turned, she couldn't believe who was talking to her. She just stared at him, getting lost in his brown eyes. - Um, I guess I don't - she answered, trying to clear her head. He smiled and paid for her tequila. - Someone has had a lot to drink tonight? - He asked taking the drink from the counter and handing it to her. - Maybe, but I don't think I've had enough - she took the glass from his hand drinking it all in one gulp. - Take it easy babe, are you here by yourself? - he asked placing one hand on her back just to make sure she didn't fall. Listening to the pet name gave Lesley goosebumps but she decided not to think too much about it. - No, I'm with some friends. I just don't know where they went - she tried to find them again but failed and returned her look to the handsome guy in front of her - I'm Lesley by the way. - Calum - he said with a smirk on his face - but by how you're looking at me I guess you already knew that - Lesley nodded, not knowing what to say next. - Are you gonna keep your hand there for much longer? I think I can stand by myself - she finally spoke. - Oh, well, I thought you didn't mind - Calum said putting his hand back on his pocket. - I actually liked it - Lesley wasn't always so honest but the drinks she had had were the ones speaking for her. She grabbed his hand and put in on its previous position - I was just wondering what your plan was. - I think it depends on what your plan is, honey - he said getting a little bit closer to her. - You're gonna have to stop with the pet names or else I'm gonna have to kiss you - the alcohol was speaking for Lesley once again but she didn't mind. Calum laughed softly while he came even closer to whisper on her ear. - Why don't we get out of here first? - he suggested and pulled away. Lesley weighed her options before deciding that there wasn't any reason why she couldn't have a bit of fun and leave with Calum. - Sure, let me just text my friends - she picked her phone and informed her friends she wasn't going to stay any longer. - I should go tell mine too, but I don't want to lose you in the crowd. Come with me? - he asked taking her hand. She smiled and they started walking to where his friends were - okay wait here, it'll be just a second.
Calum made his way to the couch where the rest of the band and their partners were. He knew they weren't going to like the idea of him going to a random girl's apartment, but he didn't really care, he was mature enough to decide for himself. - Where are the drinks? - Michael asked as he saw Calum returning empty-handed. - You're gonna have to get them yourselves. I'm leaving - he said while taking his coat. - What? Where? - Luke asked confused. - I met a girl, I'm leaving with her - he answered quickly, not wanting to give them too many details. - Well, that's new from you. But you know there's a reason why we don't do that - Ashton said. - Yes, because y'all have girlfriends you can spend your night with. - Cal, that's not what I meant. I'm just saying that it's not really smart to go hooking up with strangers nowadays. - Yeah, I know Ash. It's just, I need this tonight. You know me, it's just once, I promise. Plus, she seems nice, nothing is gonna happen. Trust me. - Well, okay, have fun, just don't let it get too crazy, and remember we have that interview tomorrow evening - Ashton gave in. Calum said his goodbyes and walked back to Lesley, who was standing in the same position. - Ready to go? - she asked as he approached her. He nodded and held her hand again, leading her out of the club.
- God, it's freezing - Lesley complained once they were on the street. - Here - Calum placed his coat over her shoulders and she smiled in return - do you live nearby? - Well, it's a fifteen minutes walk. But if you don't mind I'd prefer to go by foot just so I can sober up a little bit - Calum chuckled and agreed while he placed his arm around her shoulders. - Lead the way - he said. They started walking down the street in silence, but it wasn't an awkward silence, in fact, they both felt really comfortable with each other. - So, do you usually drink this much? - Calum asked breaking the silence. - Not really. I was just in the mood, but I don't even go out that often. At least I didn't. I had a lot of fun tonight, I could get used to this. - So not much of a partier? I thought I hadn't seen you around before. - Do you go to that club often? - Yeah, almost every weekend, I do like to party. So, what was the occasion? - Oh, uhm, my boyfriend broke up with me a couple of weeks ago and my friends forced me to go out and try to forget about him. And it worked out, to be honest - she said looking up at him and biting her lower lip. - I'm sorry to hear that - he said. They continued their way to her apartment, arriving not much later. - Here we are - Lesley took her keys out of her top to open the door. - Oh, that's a great place to hide your keys - Calum said making Lesley blush. - It's the only place where I know I'm not going to lose them - she answered. They both got in and took their shoes off - I'm gonna go drink a glass of water, do you want some? - No, thanks, I'm fine - Calum answered. - Okay, you can wait in the living room if you want to.
Lesley got to the kitchen, drank a bit of water, and tried to get sober. She could still feel the alcohol running through her system and she wanted to remember what could happen next. After taking a few deep breaths she returned to the living room. - You said you knew who I was, are you a fan of the band? - Calum asked as Lesley got into the room and sat on the couch next to him. - Not really. I mean, I like a few of your songs but I haven't listened to your albums like properly, just what sounds on the radio. But my flatmate is, that's why I knew you. - Oh, cool - Calum said turning to face her and put his left hand on her right thigh - is that okay? - he asked. She nodded, afraid that any sound of pleasure would come out of her mouth if she spoke. His touch was so warm it made Lesley feel butterflies all over her body, but she didn't want to make it so obvious - you told me you just broke up with your boyfriend, I assume you aren't looking for anything serious right now? - Definitely not - Lesley answered. - That's great because I couldn't offer you that. But I think I can help you forget your ex, at least for tonight. - Can you? - Lesley asked biting her lower lip and giving him an innocent look. - Just if you want me to. - I do - she said, biting her lip a third time. Calum groaned. - I love it when you do that, it makes your lips so kissable. - Kiss them then - Lesley got closer but stopped as she started to feel his breath waiting for Calum to close the gap between them, which he did shortly after. It was a sweet kiss, and Calum started to rub circles with his thumb on her thigh. She put her hands on the back of his head and passed her right leg over his so she was sitting on top of him. She could already feel his length growing behind her and she started to get that wet feeling as she moved her hips trying to get some friction.
Her tongue left her mouth asking for permission and Calum opened his lips letting her in. The kiss deepened as he placed his hands on her waist. - You're already making me feel so damn good - Calum said pushing Lesley down gently as he moved his hips up making her moan quietly. He started kissing her neck and she tilted her head giving him more space to work with. He sucked in harder and Lesley knew it was gonna be visible the next day but she couldn't care less. His hands went from her waist to the back pockets of her skirt making her jump a little. - Where's your bedroom honey? - Lesley whimpered as she heard the raspy voice now coming from Calum's mouth. - On your left - she said. He stood up holding her on his waist as she wrapped her legs around him. She played with the curls at the back of his head while he took her to the bedroom and placed her softly on the bed. He kissed her deeply and continued to give her wet kisses on her neck quickly going down to her breasts. She leaned forward a little bit just so he could remove her top. He widened his eyes when he realized she wasn't wearing a bra underneath and Lesley giggled. Calum put one of her breasts on his mouth while he played with her other nipple, making her back arch. Once he was done with one, he switched to the other. Her hands reached for the hem of his shirt and she started to unbutton it slowly while she placed her hands under the shirt tracing her fingers all over his abs and a bit under his jeans. - I see you're a teaser - he said smiling. - No, I just enjoy doing things nice and slow - she replied.
Once she had unbuttoned the whole shirt, he leaned back and took it off. She stared at his tattoos, analyzing them one by one, she loved them. In fact, she had been wanting to get a tattoo for a while but she didn't because she knew Brandon hated them. - Do you like what you see? - Calum asked ripping Lesley out of her thoughts. - Quite a lot - she answered honestly and bit her lip once again. - God stop doing that, it drives me crazy - Calum said pulling her up to kiss her. He took her skirt off and groaned when he saw she wasn't wearing panties either. - You just hate underwear, don't you? - he asked, making Lesley laugh. - I actually don't. But it is uncomfortable under tight clothing, you know? - She leaned down on her back again while he took his pants off. Lesley could clearly see his boner under his boxers and it made her wetter than she already was if it was even possible. She closed her eyes for a second and felt Calum's lips on her abdomen, making her sight. He started to lick her thighs softly and Lesley tensed as she realized what was about to happen. - Is everything alright, love? - Calum asked as he felt her body tense under him, raising his head to look at her. - Y-yes - Lesley whispered. - You don't sound too confident. We don't have to do anything you don't want to - he was going to sit up but she placed her hands on his shoulders to stop him. - No, no. I'm fine. It's just that I've never, uhm, n-no one has ever - Oh, is it your first time? It's okay. I just thought since you had a boyfriend you'd - No, it's not - Lesley cut him - I've had sex but no one has given me oral or touched me before, that's what I was trying to say - Lesley blushed and covered her face with her hands. - So he was a real asshole - he said taking her hands off her face and kissing her - there's no need to be ashamed of that, he's the only one who should be. Now, I'm going to make you feel really good if you let me - she moaned in agreement. Calum looked back down and started to kiss her thighs once again while he traced his fingers all over her body - I'm gonna make you scream my name doll, I'm gonna make you come so hard - Lesley couldn't stop a louder moan getting out of her mouth. Listening to Calum's dirty talk was driving her crazy. - It will be okay if you can just make me come - she said. - Oh, so he didn't even make you come? - He didn't even ask, he didn't care - she explained, having a difficult time breathing due to Calum's fingers going up and down her thighs. - Don't worry, I know how to treat a girl right. And you're already so wet for me - Calum said while he traced his fingers softly over her entrance. He started to rub circles with his thumb over her clit and she moaned his name softly. Then, he changed his thumb for his mouth and started licking her clit, at the beginning carefully but going quicker once she placed her hands on his head, pulling him closer. - Fuck - she said moving her hips up trying to get as much friction as possible - shit Cal - she screamed when she felt his finger slowly getting inside of her. - Do you like it? - Fuck yes Calum - she screamed pulling him by his curls. - Cute little girl, tell me what you want. Talk to me. - I want more please, I want all of you - he groaned and added a second finger making her clench around them. He started going faster making her whimper with every thrust. His pace was not too fast but it was more than enough to make Lesley forget everything else, feeling a pleasure she never had before. She started to feel a knot forming on her lower stomach and she was surprised she didn't even remember how it felt like - Oh god Cal, I think I'm going to come. - Oh, are you? Are you going to cum all over my fingers? All over my mouth? - he said getting closer to her heat - C'mon, let it go, Lesley, let it go - he licked her clit roughly sending her over the edge. She cursed as she felt the adrenaline all over her body. Calum sucked every drop of her cum softly since he knew she was probably still very sensitive.
- That was amazing - she whispered once she was finally able to speak again. - Do you think you can take more tonight? - he asked, his eyes filled with lust as he looked at her blushed face. - I do - Lesley answered sitting up and realizing Calum had already taken his boxers off. He was on his knees at the end of the bed so she did the same thing and leaned in to kiss him. She put one hand on the back of his neck and started pumping his cock with the other. She bent intending to put it on her mouth but he stopped her. - It's all about your pleasure tonight, baby girl. - But I want to repay you - she complained. - You already are repaying me, wildflower, don't worry about that - he lay down grabbing Lesley by her waist and sitting her on his lap. She moaned at the warmth of his length. - Babe, are you already wet again? - she nodded frantically and he giggled - you can't get enough, can you? - Not from you - she said leaning in to kiss him. He seized the opportunity to bring his hand down to her heat and started rubbing her clit again, making her groan while they kissed. - You're being such a good girl tonight, do you think you can ride me? - Lesley pulled away from the kiss and bit her lower lip, this time on purpose, knowing the impact it had on Calum. Instead of answering, she grabbed his length and placed it at her entrance, lining them up. She teased a little bit moving his tip around her entrance. - Lesley - he moaned giving her goosebumps - please - he begged. She started taking him in slowly until all of him was inside. They both moaned loudly in response and she stopped moving to try to adjust to the fullness she was feeling. Once she felt strong enough, she started riding him slowly, whimpering every time his pubic bone touched her clit. - You are so freaking tight god - he said leaning in to kiss her shoulder. She arched her back and tilted her head back grabbing his blonde curls. - I'm gonna move faster if that's okay - she whispered on Calum's ear making him shiver. He grabbed her waist and quickly switched their position so that he was on top of her. - You've had enough control for the night, babe. Now I'm going to make you all mine, I wanna see your face when you come screaming my name, okay? So don't look away, please. - Okay - she said almost breathless as he put one of her legs on his shoulder and pushed himself in as deep as he could. He picked up a steady pace hitting her G spot on every thrust. After a few minutes, she didn't think she could take it any longer. - I'm so close Calum - she said rolling her eyes back. - Me too, honey, me too - he grabbed her by her waist pulling her up just so he could get in even deeper. She started to moan loudly and he could feel her clenching around his length every time he got in - Lesley, fuck! - he screamed - I'm gonna - It's okay Cal, come for me, let go - her words were enough to make him reach his peak and after a few thrusts, she reached her second orgasm screaming his name on repeat. He collapsed on top of her, their chests together as they both came down from their highs.
A few moments later he moved so he was next to her and she looked at him. She couldn't help but smile and she found herself imagining what it'd be like to have him around so they could relive what had just happened. - Baby girl, you are incredible - Calum finally spoke looking at her. He kissed her forehead and stood up. She whimpered at the feeling of emptiness when he left the bed. He noticed and smiled at her - I'm just gonna go get cleaned and bring you a towel. - The bathroom is next to the kitchen - she explained, speaking for the first time as she regained her normal breathing. Calum came back with her towel a minute later and she tried to grab it but he insisted on cleaning her up, so she opened her legs letting him take care of her. She would have felt embarrassed to let any other person do that, but she felt different with Calum, she felt even more comfortable than she had ever felt with Brandon. Once Calum had finished, Lesley grabbed the towel and threw it on the laundry basket. She was confused about what to do next since he was her first one-night stand. She didn't want him to leave but she didn't feel confident enough to ask him to stay. They laid on her bed for a couple of minutes checking their phones until Calum spoke. - Do you mind if I stay the night? I'm kinda tired but I totally get it if you think it's weird. - Oh, no, not at all, maybe we could cuddle - Lesley smiled at him and Calum wrapped his arm around her waist pulling her closer, her back facing his chest. - I like the idea. Goodnight Lesley. - Goodnight Calum - she said closing her eyes and making herself comfortable. Calum placed a soft kiss on her cheek and closed his eyes too, falling asleep shortly after.

Sunset comes in hazy rose gold and deepening purple. Calum stares out at the shining water from his perch on a rock, she sits just below him, knees pulled up to her chest and Duke at her side. His guitar is abandoned, settled against the trunk of a tree and her sketchbook lays in the wilting grass off to the side. Any pretenses of doing work had fallen away. The secret trail beside the mountains has given them a sliver of solace. It’s silent save for the whistling of wind through the trees and the soft lapping of water against rocks.
She leans back and turns, head now in his lap where his hands can brush through her hair. Duke lets out a small noise but stays idly by her side. Calum knows they should get going soon, the trip through the trail in complete dark will not be ideal. But he hasn’t the heart to break the serenity that’s captured her so. They took their time to get there; stopping to blow on dandelions and make wishes, to take pictures and pluck blooming flowers for a vase back at home. He just wants to revel in their new private spot a while longer.
“I told you there was a trail,” she mumbled softly, too content with the affection Calum gives her to have any sarcastic bite or undertone of victory in her words. It’s merely a fact that she stares. “You should listen to me more often.”
Calum laughs and leans down to kiss the top of her head.
“I always listen to you, sunshine,” he promises and adjusts when she stands up, places herself properly in his lap with legs straddling his waist and a pout on her petaled lips. She lets out a small breath.
“Yeah?” she asks teasingly and bats her eyelashes, inches closer just a bit and brushes her lips against his. “And I wanna listen to that song you’ve been writing for days now.”
“Right now?” Calum asks, eyebrows shooting up in question at her request. She nods, just a small tilt to her head in answer. He bites his lips but copies her nod and gently squeezes her hips.
She stands and though he wishes she was back in his hold she hands him his guitar instead. Her patient but excited smile shoots nerves through him. He’s played for her a million times but it never fails to make his heart beat a little faster and warm him from the inside out. She dips down to pick up Duke as she waits for Calum to begin. He plays a few cursory strums and clears his throat. He’s had the words in his head and heart and written down on paper for days now. It was the music he was missing. But with time under the stars and headed for sunsets Calum finally found inspiration in the glimmer of her eyes and the soft whispers of her voice in the night.
“It’s a little rough,” he admits and feels a blush capture his cheeks. Her never ending ability to make him flustered, even after years together, making her grin a little wider.
She and Duke stand with rapt attention on him. The old dog’s ears perked up at the first note of the song. Calum’s hands are deft and gentle on the old instrument as the song picks up and his lover’s eyes stay on him. He’s warmer than the sunset glazing him in gold, his small audience gives him more attention and praise with silent reactions than a screaming crowd of thousands ever could. She’s already smiling by the time the first word graces his lips and rolls off his tongue. He’s always told her that her name sounds like a song and now she hears it in harmony with the guitar.
It comes to a soft close after a great crescendo, his music echoing around the world in a way that fame could never make it. Instead of cheers from a crowd Calum looks up to find her gently making Duke’s paws come together in tiny claps. He laughs and shakes his head, curls mussed and in his face as he abandons the guitar again and instead takes the two of them in his arms.
“What’d you think?” Calum questions though he’s sure he already knows the answer. From the demure grin cut across her face that sparkles her eyes to the warmth of her cheeks under his fingertips.
“I loved it.” She pressed forward and closes the minuscule distance between them. Gives him a fleeting and chaste kiss under the sunset before pulling away to let the golden tones wash over them. “Almost as much as I love you,” she continues and pauses, her gaze cutting down to Duke in her arms. “This guy on the other hand. Well, he’s a much tougher critic than me, you know.”
“Is that right?” Calum asks around a laugh and ruffles the old dog’s ears in tandem with slinking his other hand down her arm to interlock their fingers. “Should’ve been about cookies and walks, huh?”
She nods and bounces Duke lightly in her arms to make it seem as if he’s nodding too. His head bobs lightly and he sticks his tongue out as he starts to pant lightly. It’s as if he knows the conversation and agrees that walks and cookies far outweighs the lyricism of love that Calum produced.
“And barking at birds and the wind,” she supplies and kisses the top of Duke’s head before setting his back down on the ground. “But I think it’s your best one yet, if that’s not too conceited to say.” Her eyebrows arch and a crooked smirk replaces her smile. “But I’m not sure a song filled with my name will sell real well to the general population.”
“This one’s just for you,” Calum assures.
Selling songs comes second to the way his words make her sway and swoon. He’d write a million he couldn’t sell if it meant she found a semblance of happiness and he could make her warm without sunlight or touch; just the sound of his voice making her skin simmer and come ablaze.
“And tomorrow I’ll paint something just for you,” she promises. “Once we leave for the coast.”

the first morning | c.h.

The first morning Calum wakes in his new home with a person who inspires songs about the sun. The first morning of many tiny home adventures to come.

Calum wakes to beams of sunlight pouring in through the windows. Duke is curled into his side and the morning is quiet; only the chirping of birds and the lapping of water against the rocky shore to be heard. A small smile works its way onto Calum’s face as he takes in his surroundings. He finds comfort in his new home, the space is small but it’s cozy and has everything he needs. From natural light, to storage for his bass and journals. A bed big enough for two—and a Duke—with views that inspire poetry and lyrics. Art coming to life in front of his very eyes.
All he’s missing is her. Her side of the bed is cold, sheets rumpled and comfort long abandoned. He smirks, lifts himself from the warmth of the blankets and ruffles Duke’s ears in a good morning greeting. He knows where to find her. He drags himself from the bed and pads his way over to the ladder, the loft shining with sunlight from the high windows. She sits with crossed legs, his button up hanging off her frame, a concentrated look capturing her face. She bites her lip and narrows her eyes as her gaze stays steady on a canvas. Calum quietly climbs the ladder and gives her a smile when she turns to him.
“G’morning, sunshine. How did I know you’d be up here?” Calum asks with a laugh as he settles to sit behind her, arms winding around her and lips kissing her exposed shoulder.
“I couldn’t sleep,” she explains and tilts back so her head rests against his chest. “Sunrise was too pretty to ignore.”
Calum nods his understanding. The paintbrush in her hand creating an image he missed. Orange dances across the canvas and clashes with darkened waters not yet touched by the gleam of light.
“You should have woken me,” he says and nudges against her, taking in sweet scents of sugar and cinnamon. Paint coats her skin, art climbing her arms in patches of colors to her elbows.
“You were too pretty to disturb,” she defends and smirks. Her hands reach up and her fingers gently rake through Calum’s curls, the gesture familiar after years of practice. “There’s always sunset,” she reminds.
“I wouldn’t miss it,” Calum promises, already envisioning a trip down to the lake with her hand in his and Duke trotting along after them. She turns back to the canvas and he rests his chin on the crook of her shoulder. “I’ve got songs to write about you and the sun.”
She lets out a breathy laugh and puts down another swipe of color. This time purple graces the orange and deepens the atmosphere of the piece.
“Yeah? And when the sun goes down?” she questions with a timid smile. “What will you write about then?”
Calum doesn’t hesitate to answer. “The stars… and you.”
He smirks as she giggles and shakes her head, tendrils of soft hair falling in her face with the motion.
“And will you keep this song?” she wonders and Calum shrugs. “The world deserves to hear your words from your voice.”
Calum bites his lip. His songwriting credits keep him in the shadows, keep his voice to a whisper and his audience to her and Duke. “My world is right here.”
She softens but Calum can see the determination still set in her eyes. She sighs and puts her paintbrush in a glass of water so she can fully turn to be in his embrace. She kisses his lips in a whisper of affection. He revels in her taste and wishes she would linger a little longer. But she sighs and pulls away again.
“Your world wants to see the mountains next,” she says with a pointed gaze out the window.
Calum drums his fingers on her bare thighs and gives her a tilted smile. Her voice is soft and filled with wanderlust as she explains her desire. Eyelashes flutter against her cheekbones and she inches closer to Calum, the captivating scent of cinnamon nearing him with ease. Calum’s smile broadens as a realization strikes him. They can go anywhere in the world together and still be right at home; with or without the bus sheltering them.
“Perfect, we can leave tomorrow morning. Head west. You can paint, I can write…”
Calum loses his words, any thoughts of planning abandoned as she setttles in closer to him, wraps her arms around his neck and gives him what he was longing for. Another kiss. Another taste of sweetness that puts a yearning for adventure but a fulfilled feeling in his heart.
A small whine sounds from down the ladder and bliss breaks apart in an attempt to find the source. Neither truly has to question it. They both know Duke has finally made his way from bed and is requesting their presence.
“And Duke can explore,” she finishes Calum’s thought and breaks away to descend the ladder to comfort the old dog. Her feet hit the ground in a delicate way and Calum follows shortly after, her arms holding Duke and his quickly finding their way to holding her.
“Little man’s gotta learn how to climb the ladder,” Calum jokes.
She shakes her head in slight laughter. “We’ll just get him a little basket and pull him up whenever he wants,” she proposes and instills an image in Calum’s mind. “Then everything will be perfect.”
“Our perfect little world, in our perfect tiny home, with our perfect little dog,” Calum teases her though he’s apt to believe his own words.
His girl and her art, his dog and his basket, his music and his bass are all he needs in his new tiny home. In his life and in his world.

meadow | l.h.

The only things stopping Luke from running away with the princess are the armor on his back and the vow he made to the kingdom.

❁ ❁ ❁
Luke was mesmerized. Sunlight glistened against silk. The rose pink dress the princess wore shimmered with her every movement. He saw her everyday, under sunlight and moonbeams, in the grandest rooms of the castle and engulfed by the perfectly tended flowers in the royal garden. But the sight of her trailing aimlessly through their secret meadow never failed to instill awe in him. She was one with the world when they made their getaway. Lost to the wildflowers and overgrowth of grass. Ease always captured her in the meadow; fully able to let worries of kingdoms and wars slip away. She felt safe there. She felt protected by Luke’s presence.
His cape flew in the wind as he followed her, the sign of his knighthood a sharp reminder against his skin. He was sworn to protect the crown. Vowed to his sword and the castle and nothing more. But secrets lived on his lips and in his heart. They were born of tilted crowns and shy smiles, flowers in hair and running through shadows and from responsibilities.
“We could keep going,” she said as she spun to face Luke. Her eyes sparkled under the light, were relentless as they peered at him and waited for his response. Perfectly stained lips pursed as Luke sighed. “We don’t have to go back.”
He reached for her hand, her skin was soft under his gentle touch.
“Where would we go?” Luke asked, only to amuse her and her wanderlust.
“Anywhere,” she answered softly and swept her gaze around their meadow. “Or we could stay here. Make a cabin in the woods.”
“Princess,” Luke whispered, words that ached sitting heavily on his heart in the momentary silence they lapsed into. Her eyes were filled with hope. “You know we can’t. We have to go back.”
The reasons for their return danced in the air between them, swayed with the wild lilies in the breeze and wilted their dreams. The reasons were sharp, broken vows meeting blades. A life of sworn commitment coming to an end. The princess nodded but turned away from Luke, hands gently gliding over petals as she kept walking.
“Then I will run away. As my sworn sword you will have to follow, to protect me,” she said as she looked back, lip quivering at the thought. Lies sounded sweet from her sugary lips. “You’ll follow me. Won’t you?”
Luke nodded, knowing there was no other way he could answer. He would follow her to the ends of the earth. Until death.
She sighed once more. This time the sound was resigned. Defeat captured her, slumped her shoulders and slowed her walk. Luke yearned to reach out for her again but the contact was forbidden. He knew he could. The meadow was theirs and no watching eyes would see. He could take her in his arms and whisper sweet nothings like many times before. Instead, he merely followed as his fingers curled into his palm. He was adamant to keep his promise to the princess his sword and heart were sworn to.
“Your father will be waiting,” Luke reminded. He hated the words, regret filling him as soon as they rolled off his tongue. Any mention of the king brought her down from the clouds, away from the privacy of the meadow and into a shadowed world of hallowed halls and sharp orders.
“Let him wait,” she insisted as she turned back to him and came to a full stop. “His throne is comfortable enough. The arrangement will be made whether I’m present or not.”
Luke swallowed down a lump in his throat. Once stained glass worries became transparent. He could see the refusal in her eyes. The indignant set of her jaw. She would not be swayed to leave. Luke worried, she would also not be swayed to stop. Even more so he worried that she would. That all of her talk and her late night dreams would be all for naught. So many nights they snuck out to the gardens, the meadow out of reach but the privacy of the night and the familiarity of flowers offering them comfort. She’d whisper words of longing to Luke, make plans he had to convince himself not to act on in those very moments. Each night it got harder and harder to resist.
“I don’t want you to go,” Luke finally said, the words scorching him from the inside out as the sun began to dip below the tree line. Too much time had been spent hidden away from the rest of the world. “But you must.”
The princess faltered, her knight in dented armor doing little to save her from her fate. She frowned and shook her head, perfectly done hair falling in her face with the motion. Luke kept his hands to himself though he wished to push soft tendrils behind her ear, maybe even let his fingertips linger on her jaw for a just a moment longer than necessary.
“They’re going to send me away,” she responded and furrowed her eyebrows. Suddenly, glimmering eyes turned dark, shimmers turned to tears and palid expressions became her. “They’re arranging a marriage to some lord of a holdfast. I might never see my home again. I might never see you again.”
Luke lost his breath at her admission. The details of royal arrangements always kept from him until the moment they were signed and sealed. He went where he was told. He protected when danger arose. He knew little of what the world was outside of the castle and the commands of a king. Outside of the forbidden love he bore for a princess he was not ready to lose.
“I’m your sworn sword. Where you go, I follow,” Luke reminded but the princess solemnly shook her head and Luke faltered.
“Not this time,” she answered and turned sharply, heading back to the entrance of the clearing and to a fate she did not want to be destined for.
Luke hurried after her, met her at the treeline where their lone horse waited. His hands found hers again and the realization it may be the last time he could feel the softness of her skin, smell the sweetness that lingered around her, he shattered. Pieces of himself falling to the dirt; ragged and sharp enough to sever ties and vows.
“It’s five miles back to the castle,” Luke said flippiantly, eyes searching anywhere but the trail they must take to bring her home. He helped her into the saddle and joined, her arms wound around him in a way that promised she did not want to let go. He let out a breath, ran his thumb over the back of her hand and took a chance. “It’s ten to the docks. Fifty leagues to the next kingdom.”
A demure smile curved her lips as she took in Luke’s words. She peered out to the other side of the meadow, tilted her head to the side and gazed up at Luke.
“Wherever I go…” she said and trailed off.
“I’ll follow,” Luke promised.

The night is unusually warm as you step out onto your balcony. Stars dot the sky in a serene daze, a crescent moon brings little light to the otherwise dark world. Silence dances through the night as you settle on the plush cushion of your outdoor chair. You wrap your arms around yourself and find the balcony next door. It sits abandoned for the moment, all of the lights are off and the piano tucked behind closed French doors sits alone. No soft melodies envelop you. No gentle candle light glows from the other side. You sigh, flick on your balcony lights and wait with hope that Calum will show up.
For weeks you’ve settled into a nightly routine with your neighbor. You sit out on your balcony, a warm drink in hand, twinkle lights blinking against the dark, blending in with the stars. Calum’s music drifts from his home and heart to yours. The first time it happened was an accident. You needed an escape from the chaos of inside; you’d spent too much time behind closed doors, in stuffy rooms and behind screens that made your eyes bleary. You needed a breath of fresh air and a sight of the stars. His music welcomed you, beckoned you to take a seat and stay a while. The next night you went out in hope that he would already be playing. You were met with silence, until you turned your lights on and the first note struck. And it continued that way every night after.
You sit and wait, eyes scanning through the glass of the French door, hoping to hear the creak of them opening, waiting to see Calum’s small wave and blushing cheeks. You hope to hear his voice tonight and not just the soft melodies of the piano. Only a few times has he sung along to the songs he plays. Those nights are your favorites. His voice is alluring, soft but deep and soothing. The words he sings are always new to you; you wonder what they look like in his scrawl, knowing he must have written them down at one point. There’s a lot of things you don’t know about your neighbor across the street, but you do know your heart flutters when his balcony light switches on.
The doors open slowly and he peeks out into the night. Curls fall in his face and he’s quick to brush them back. He offers you a shy smile, cheeks already rosy, and lifts his hand for a small greeting. You nod back at him, feeling your skin prickle as he steps back inside to the piano angled at the door. All you can see when he takes up position in his shadowed profile and it leaves you wondering how it would be to see his fingers dance across the keys, if his face shows his concentration.
The song starts slowly and for the first time you recognize it. A lullaby from your childhood drifts through the night air and brings a soft smile to your face. No words are needed for the night though you crave to hear his voice again. Your eyes slip shut, completely content with the music and the warm breeze that floats by. You find yourself humming to the tune in a soft whisper, something so low you yourself can barely hear it. You don’t know how much time passes as you drift through the music and let yourself relax to the sounds of your childhood. Only when the music stops do your eyes spring open and warmth of embarrassment shoots through you when you find Calum’s gaze steadily on yours. He’s stepped out onto his balcony, hands clutching the rails and teeth sunken into his lower lip.
You stand and twirl, out of sorts and out of wits to carry you back inside. You don’t want to leave yet. You slowly approach the edge of your balcony, hands mimicking his as they reach for the ivy covered railing. Calum smiles as you lean forward, hoping to catch more than a shadowed glimpse of him. He’s lurid and calm under the lights. His rosy cheeks much more prominent. The tattoos on his hands catching your eye.
“Did you enjoy it tonight?” he asks and you realize it’s the first time he’s spoken to you since offering his name and disappearing when you first moved in across the street.
“Yes,” you answer and feel flames come alive inside of you. “It was beautiful.”
There’s a beat of pause that ensues between you. The silence echoes around the cavernous distance, an entire street keeping you apart. You shiver although the night is still warm. His gaze stays level on you and yours does the same; somehow the eye contact feels natural. After hearing the songs in his heart for so many nights, seeing his gaze doesn’t phase you.
“Do you think I could see you in the morning?” Calum asks and the quiet reverie is shattered. “We could have breakfast on the balcony. I could play you another song.”
You nod and your breath catches in the back of your throat at the thought of it. Calum under sunlight, music in the daytime and breakfast on balconies seems like a dream. “I’d really love that.”
Calum claps a hand to the back of his neck and grins. “I’ll see you in the morning then.”
“In the morning,” you promise and watch him disappear back into his home, knowing that morning can’t come soon enough.

“Don’t move.”
Calum heeds the instruction and stays still. His cheek is pressed to his forearm, with comfortable cushions beneath him as a slight breeze and fingertips dance across his bare back. Her touch leaves him and he wonders where she’s gone. What she’s doing and why he must stay still. He feels the sun on his skin pouring in through the open window. His eyes are closed but visions of the mountains ahead infiltrate his thoughts. The loft is warm, a quiet summer morning affording them an escape from worries outside their small world; nothing but bliss between them.
Calum hears her moving around the loft, crawling in the minimal space and shuffling through unrecognizable items. She comes back to him in only a moment, her fingertips gracing the curves of his back once more, dancing on his shoulder blades and down his spine. He feels goosebumps raise on his skin at the soft contact. He smiles and keeps his eyes closed.
Her fingertips abandon him, the warmth that emanated from her touch turning cold. Calum turns his head in interest but one hand with gentle motion turns him away.
“Just trust me,” she whispers fondly and when the next swipe of cold hits his skin he understands. The soft bristles of her paintbrush tickle at him as paint creates art on his body. “Try to be still,” she further instructs. Calum hears her blow out a breath and can only imagine she’s attempting to get hair from her face without using her hands.
“You know, you have stacks of canvases taking up space in storage,” Calum teases and hears her small noise of protest at the lighthearted chiding. “If you’re just going to use me we could really use the space.”
Another lick of the brush hits just below his shoulder blades and makes him want to move; an attack on a soft spot she knows makes him squirm. He stays still though, determined not to mess up her art; even if he may never be able to see it.
“We’ll call this…” she says and muses for the right word for a moment. “A rough draft.”
Another swipe of paint hits his skin in a zig zag and Calum can only guess what she might be up to. A mountain range she stares out at from the loft window. A harsh wave she once saw on a horizon. Something so abstract he won’t be able to guess what it is, won’t be able to discern even when she divulges the details to him, or something else entirely.
“A rough draft, eh?” Calum asks and though he’s tempted to turn over and catch her eye, to see how content she is with a paintbrush in her hand, paint on her skin and sunlight gleaming against her hair he again resists the urge and follows her instructions. “Your art is always perfect.”
A little noise leaves her at the compliment and after years of witnessing her blushes and fluttered mannerisms Calum still manages to find himself missing the sight. He wishes he could turn away and imprint the sight of her humbleness into his mind, at least, another sight of it. He only has hundreds of those moments locked away, store in his mind and his heart.
“It won’t be if you keep wiggling,” she points out and through Calum’s every effort to stay still he realizes he’s acted on instinct to the feel of her on his skin. She uses her fingers along his spine, he doesn’t know why, but he appreciates the feel and the presence of her instead of the brushes. “Not much longer love,” she promises and Calum quells the urge to react to her once more.
Quiet settles around them as she continues to paint, only the soft hum of Duke’s snores and the occasional chirp of birds sounding around their small home. Calum is left to wonder; once more envisioning what might claim his back. He buries his face into his arms and hears her small sigh as he does so. He lays still, wishing her fingers weren’t coated in paint so they might trail up to his curls and offer him a different kind of affection.
She leaves him again but she’s not told him he can move and in fear of messing up her work he stays where he is. He hears her come back and only when a flash catches the corner of his vision does he turn. A Polaroid camera is in her hands and he knows she’s smiling behind it as she captures her work. The photo comes out in a moment and she grabs for it as Calum sits himself upright, curious to see the outcome and if his best efforts to stay still were worthwhile. Her fingers pinch the corner and she shields it from his view with a teasing smile.
“Oh did you want to see?” she asks and scrunches up her nose as Calum maneuvers himself closer to her. He nods and she lets out a mischievous giggle. “Maybe I should make you wait to see it until it’s on canvas,” she banters from his earlier teasing. “I am using up so much storage space, after all.”
Calum’s nod turns to a playful shake of his head. “I’ll do anything to see it now.”
She considers it with a lighthearted shrug and purses his lips for a moment. “A kiss for a sneak peek?” she bargains, knowing it’s a deal Calum could never resist; he wins both ends of the deal.
He smiles as he closes the distance and grants her wish and then some; a soft kiss to her lips tastes of cinnamon and a small peppering of kisses to her cheeks brings honey to his senses.
“Alright, alright,” she says through laughter and brings the photo around so Calum can see.
The mountains stare back at him, morning blues blending the sky and the tops of the peaks into one. It makes the world calm, serene and soft. He smiles.
“I told you,” he begins and gives her another kiss. “It’s perfect.” Her head shakes just a bit, hair falling in her face as she gets flustered. “Where to next?” he asks, wondering where their adventures would bring them and what painting and poetry might come of it.
“I don’t want to leave yet,” she admits and when Calum arches an eyebrow—her tendency to flutter from place to place seemingly idle—she shrugs. “I’ve heard there’s a secret trail we ought to find. I think it’d look beautiful on your back.”
Calum chuckles at her reasoning but nods. He’ll follow her down a secret trail, up a mountain, into the woods, to the bottom of the sea or the ends of the earth. He knows wherever they go something beautiful will come of it.

leap of faith | c.h.
Tumblr media
Calum takes a leap of faith and decides to stay. For the night and as long as he possibly can after the sun comes up. A friends to lovers and brother’s best friend au.

“Stay with me?” she asks and bites her lip, the three words stopping any and all movement from Calum. Her eyes are glossy and her lip wavers beneath her teeth. She blinks and her shoulders shroud in on herself. “Please, stay?”
Calum feels his heartbeat pounding through him, he can feel his pulse in his chest, his neck, his wrist and low in his stomach. Each thump is a reminder of why she’s asking. Each beat brings him back to the reality that his friend is breaking in front of him. Each little flutter stops him short and leaves him questioning how he could have ever left her or why he thought moving on was ever an option.
“Are you sure?” Calum asks, eyebrows furrowing and hand coming up to rub at his jaw. The uncertainty bites at him.
They’d never crossed lines past friendship before but the look in her eyes and the feel of her hand reaching out for him puts questions in his mind. The jealously he could feel radiating off of her when he showed up with a casual date was palpable. The sting of watching her walk away a feeling he never wants to endure again. Their boundaries were breaking. Though he’s not sure if they built those boundaries or if they were unspoken rules written by her brother and his best friend.
“Yes,” she nearly pleads, voice cracking the one syllable into two. Her eyes sweep across him and she shifts, nearing him slowly, deliberately creating less and less space between them. “I really want you to stay.”
Calum nods, “I’ll stay,” he promises and feels himself ease closer to her, lets himself dip down to sit on the mattress beside her and take a deep breath.
He’s in uncharted territory. Her bedroom is not unfamiliar but the proximity in which they sit next to each other is new, daring and bold. She reaches for his hand. He lets himself indulge in her touch, in the feeling of her smooth palm and the way her fingertips dance across his calloused skin. His deep breath results in vanilla and thoughts he’s not sure he should be having. Their friendship means everything to him but the chance of something more means just a little bit more than everything. His friendship with her brother dangles precariously in the balance. He feels as if he shouldn’t, that this all could end in disaster, but he can’t help himself from nudging a bit closer to her.
“How long have you been seeing her?” she asks and bites her lip and bites back pain though he can still see it clearly in her eyes.
He shakes his head, unsure how to answer. His date was casual, less than friendship and a first time thing, but it doesn’t stop the assumptions and the heartache from forming.
“We’re not really seeing each other,” he admits and catches the small breath she lets out at his explanation. Hope floods her eyes and Calum is sure it matches the feeling invading his chest as she laces their fingers together. “I-I told her there’s someone else when I dropped her off last night.”
“There is?” she asks and her eyelashes flutter against her cheekbones and make his heartbeat speed up in response.
“There has been,” he admits and squeezes her hand. “See, I’ve liked her for a long time but I was too scared of other things and people getting in the way.”
She stares at the floor for a moment before finding her way back to Calum and letting their gazes crash into each other. “I don’t think anyone else really matters.”
Her statement is a proclamation, an affirmation of what Calum was hoping she would feel. He nods, agreeing with the sentiment. “I don’t think they do either,” he says and moves his free hand to tuck loose hair behind her ear and let his fingertips linger on her jaw. “So what do we do now?”
She sighs and flutters her eyelashes one more time, all of the hope in her eyes crashing into Calum. She gives him a small smirk, one that’s playful and reminiscent of years of friendship and teasing and testing the limits. She shrugs and the motion makes her sink further into his touch.
“I think she’d want you to just kiss her,” she says in a whisper that makes everything inside of Calum scream.
He heeds her advice, takes a leap of faith, closes the distance between them and realizes vanilla tastes even better than it smells. That all of the years he’s been too afraid to make a move have just been wasted time. The moment is short but it brings Calum a sense of liveliness and relief, it captures years of longing and wondering. It’s everything and more than he thought it would be. She breaks away much too soon but the gleam in her eye leaves him with all of the hope she’s been feeling.
“I think she might want you to stay the night too,” she says breathlessly and before Calum can get another word out she’s gracing him with another kiss and a very easy decision. He’ll stay the night. He’ll stay as long as she wants him to.

White walls and uncomfortable plastic chairs invade Calum’s world once more. The sterile smell in the air burns deep and the beep of machines brings him back to six months ago, back to a time before your baby could be in his arms, back to when every breath was a fight for her life. Now his arms are empty once again and worry spirals around him in hazy vision and short breaths.
He knows you’re beside him but even that knowledge isn’t enough to pull him from his panic as white coats rush through the halls. His eyes shut, burning and pushing back tears, and all he can see is Mila smiling up at him from her incubator for the first time, all he can hear is her first giggle at the brush of his finger on her nose. All he wants is to hear her first word and see her first steps.
Calum clutches at the arm of the chair instead of your hand, knowing the force is too much and that the slight bite of pain from white knuckles helps remind him to stay alert. He hears you sigh, maybe yawn, he’s not even sure through the disconnect he still feels. It reminds him of the broken breath you took over the phone when you called earlier in the day. Two words had gotten him to his feet from his lax sitting position on Ashton’s couch. His songwriting journal had fallen to the floor. Mila’s sick. His heart had pounded at the explanation and the next two words you barely managed to utter. Come home. He was out the door before either of you could take another breath.
“She’s gonna be okay.”
Calum hears your voice and he rationalizes with your words and finally knows what it feels like to be on the receiving end of something that feels so far out of reach. He doesn’t know how he convinced you she would be okay when she laid in an incubator, or even how he convinced himself, he doesn’t know why he can’t seem to grapple with that sentiment when her prognosis is less dire. All he knows is numbness. He’s numb to the truth that you speak, numb to the bright lights flashing before him and numb in his fingers and chest and just barely feels your hand settle on his forearm.
“Love, look at me.”
He manages to look up and find concern in your gaze. It’s the same gaze you gave him when he came rushing through the door that afternoon to see Mila in your arms and hear the panic in your voice. She’s barely breathing. Three words and little gasps and wheezes had rushed you both to the hospital with glass walls of worry separating you. It’s the first time he’s looked in your eyes since.
“I think you’re having a panic attack,” you tell him, voice soft and trying to be soothing. Calum nods past a shallow breath and feels his shoulders tighten as they shroud in on himself. “You need to breathe. In… and out.”
Your hand runs up and down his arm with each instruction of in and out and within a few minutes he feels again. He feels your fingertips and the honesty in your words and the love in your eyes. The numbness shatters on the tiled floor below when the doctor’s voice cuts through.
“Hoods?” he asks and lets his gaze skirt to both of you when you immediately stand, Calum thankful that you haven’t dropped your hold on his arm. He’s sure it’s the only thing keeping him steady. “You can come see Mila now.”
The walk down the hallway is silent for you and Calum. Harsh lights pool down from above and Calum blinks back the brightness and the burning in his eyes as you both come upon an all too familiar door. You’re not in the same unit as when Mila was born, the NICU two floors above but the sentiment of a hospital room and your child being inside is eerily similar and heartbreaking.
“We have her using a nebulizer,” the doctor says and Calum realizes he’s been talking the entire time; filling the two of you in on how she’s doing. He steels himself and recollects some words. Pneumonia. Asthma. Medicine. Okay. When the door opens and Calum’s eyes land on Mila he feels his breath catch in the back of his throat.
“Can she come home tonight?” Calum hears you ask and he knows he should pay attention, it’s one of the only questions that really matter, but he’s too transfixed on images at present that remind him of the past.
Mila lays still and quiet, the nebulizer giving her medicine to help her heal. But all Calum can see is his newborn daughter taking in oxygen through tubes, the glare of plexiglass form the incubator and an entire life flashing before his eyes. His hand clutches yours as he forces out another deep breath. He can feel himself swaying and zoning in and out on the conversation you hold with the doctor. He’s glad to have you by his side, takes comfort in the soothing motion of your thumb running across the back of his hand. He remembers coaxing you to Mila’s side when she was just days old, encouraging you to reach into the incubator to hold her hand. This time it’s you who gives Calum a push.
With small steps and whispered words he follows your lead to Mila’s side. As soon as he can see her eyes staring up at him he breaks; the glass wall that had been up comes shattering down as he sinks into the chair at her side. He whispers to her and once he starts he can’t stop. He wants her to know that he’s there; a piece of guilt from being away for the day weighing on him unknowingly.
“Cal,” you cut in amongst his mindless blather of I’m here now. He turns to look at you, breath still coming with thought but feels himself ease when your eyes are gentle. “Don’t say that.”
With newfound curiosity Calum looks at you with questions in his eyes. He’s not sure what he’s not supposed to say, words tumbling out without much thought other than of Mila. He’s not sure what not to say or why he shouldn’t say it. You sit by his side, take his hand again and glance at Mila, eyes glossy but strong.
“Don’t blame yourself for not being there,” you finally explain. “It’s not your fault she’s sick. You being there this morning wouldn’t have changed anything. We’d still be here right now.”
Calum nods, rolls his shoulders back and bites his lip through the urge of a sob trying to break through. He understands what you mean and while a part of him can grapple with it and believe it there’s still a hairline fracture of doubt that threatens to break him again. He knows you can see it and appreciates you continuing to talk him away from the shards of broken glass.
“She was fine this morning. Smiling and giggling. It just happened, Cal. One second she was fine and the next she was coughing. You came rushing back. You’re always there for her. Never doubt that.”
A deep breath finally escapes Calum and belief floods him in its place. Your reassurance calms the stormy thoughts in his mind. The reminder of Mila’s smile and giggles replaces images of an incubator and fights for life. His grip on your hand tightens and he motions for you to come closer; you abandon your own chair and settle into his lap and arms. Calum decides this is okay, that the only way it will be better is once you’re all back at home, sitting in the rocker of Mila’s nursery with both of you in his arms.
“Did he say she can go home tonight?” Calum asks, finally finding his voice though it does shake with the effort. “I wasn’t listening.”
Your laughter makes the drab hospital room a little lighter. The kick of Mila’s foot in recognition of the noise makes Calum’s heart and worries a little less heavy.
“Yes. They’re going to finish her dose of medicine and then send us home with everything we need to take care of her.”
“Good. That’s good,” Calum mumbles and buries his face against your shoulder. He doesn’t want to take his eyes off of Mila but he needs a moment to remind himself that you’re there too.
Calum finds himself able to breathe and listen the next time the doctor comes in, finds that his need to be with Mila ends with him holding her from the hospital and sitting with her in the car as you head home. His only want, to sit in the rocker and have you both, comes to light as the moon shines through sheer curtains.
“I’m taking tomorrow off,” Calum says as the sway of the rocking chair guides Mila into sleep, her comfort in your arms insurmountable. “We were supposed to go to the studio but she’s more important.”
You can’t argue with that. Nor would you ever want to.

Pairing: Ashton Irwin x Reader
Words: 1600+
Author's Note: I'm back with the boys! One boy in particular. The literal love of my life, which sounds sad but he makes me happy. 🥺 It's been a while since I've posted for 5SOS and it's good to finally get one out. Happy Reading! xox
The sounds of Ashton playing the drums wake you from your slumber, your eyes squinting at the sun peeking through the blinds. You glance towards the clock that sits on Ash's nightstand, seeing it was almost noon.
"Jesus he let me sleep in pretty late," you mumble and sit up. You stretch your arms, letting out a whine before throwing the covers off of your body.
You grab Ashton's hoodie from the end of the bed, putting it on while heading out of the bedroom. The drumming stops as you're heading towards the basement stairs.
"Ash? Love?" You call out and start heading down the stairs. Your black-haired boyfriend whips his head around, a grin coming to his lips.
"Morning, love," he greets while getting off his drum stool. You get to the bottom step when Ashton reaches you, his hands sliding around your waist.
You giggle and lean in for a kiss, your fingers running through his hair. "You let me sleep in for a reason?" You ask as he pulls away from you, his lips dragging to your cheek.
"Mm, no. Maybe you just needed to rest," Ashton explains with an eyebrow raised. "I've heard you up late the past few nights. You're not exactly quiet."
He lets out a giggle and the two of you head towards his drums. Ashton sits back down on his stool while you roll his computer chair towards you. "Sorry about that. Just been having insomnia lately, apparently," you tell him as you sit down.
Ashton pulls your chair closer to him, his hands resting on your thighs. "Hey, it's okay. I'm not mad about it. Just make sure you get the necessary rest you need. I'm not going anywhere," he reassures you and you smile at him, bringing your hand to his face.
"Boy, I love you," you whisper and Ash presses a kiss to your forehead.
"I love you too, sweetheart."
"Have you eaten?" You ask him as Ashton places his headphones on his head.
He glances over at you and shakes his head, getting ready to go back to what he was doing before you came down here. You stand up from your chair and press one last kiss to his lips.
"I'll go out and grab us lunch, okay?"
The man grins and nods his head, earning a chuckle from you. You shake your head a bit before heading back upstairs to get ready to leave.
-
"You want to do what?" Your friend B asks through the phone as you walk down the streets of LA. You sigh and adjust the mask on your face before running a hand through your hair.
"I want to get Ash something special. I know we've only been together for almost two years, but I think it's finally time."
A noise leaves B's lips and you chuckle in response. "Time for what?"
"Ya know… for the next step maybe? Even though the past couple of nights I've been up because of my mental issues-"
"What's going on? Where is this coming from?"
You groan a bit and rub your forehead. "The past few nights I've been up until God knows when, thinking about if this is something Ashton wants. If he wants to be with me for years on end. I realized today that he does. That he's not going anywhere," you explain to them.
B lets out an aww and you playfully roll your eyes as you walk up to the jewelers. "Then I think it's a great idea!" They tell you and you chuckle before heading into the building.
"Thanks for the help. I'll send a picture of what I get."
The two of you bid each other a goodbye before hanging up the phone, sliding it into your back pocket. The saleswoman is chatting with another customer as you look around, trying to find the men's rings.
After managing to find it you analyze each one on display, trying to find the one that fits Ashton the most. Your phone vibrates and you fish it out, seeing a text from the man himself.
A smile comes to your lips as you open the notification. A blush comes to your lips and you lock your phone immediately, looking around to see if anyone was close by. The audacity of this man… You unlock your phone and bite your lip, thanking the Gods that you're wearing a mask.
In the picture is Ashton in your shared bathroom, a smirk on his lips as you can see water droplets trailing down his naked body. "Jesus," you mumble to yourself and someone clears their throat and snaps you from your gaze.
"Hi! Can I help you with anything?" The older woman asks and you clear your throat, locking your phone once more before putting it away.
"Yes, sorry. I'm looking for a ring for my boyfriend. Kinda like an engagement ring I guess," you ramble and she grins while nodding her head.
"I've got the perfect ring for you," she mentions before unlocking the case. The woman pulls out a silver ring that has a wooden interior and you love it. "Now, I'm hoping you didn't want it engraved because since it's wooden on the inside it physically can't be done."
You shake your head and hold the ring in between your fingers, grinning to yourself. "No, that's fine. This is beautiful," you mumble before handing it back to her. "I'll take it."
-
You carry the takeout bag into the house and kick the door shut behind you before slipping your shoes off. Ashton walks into the room and smiles at you.
"There you are! You've been gone a while," he chuckles as you set the bag onto the kitchen island.
His hands rest on your hips, pressing a couple of kisses to your shoulder. "Traffic was insane," you giggle while opening the bag.
"Did you get my text?" He asks, his hands gripping your hips and your eyes flutter shut.
"Y-Yeah… A warning would've been nice. I was in public," you stutter. Ashton chuckles into your ear and presses himself against you, a hum coming from his lips.
"Where's the fun in that though? I bet you looked adorable under your mask. Cheeks flushed, biting your lip while making sure no one saw. It's a delightful sight to see, my love," he explains and you're silently cursing to yourself while gripping the edge of the counter.
You turn yourself to face him, a smirk on his lips as he presses your back against the island. "Someone's needy today," you mumble while looking up at him through your lashes.
Ashton dips down to connect his lips with yours, earning a slight moan from you. His hands move to the back of your thighs before picking you up. You wrap your arms around his neck as the man sets you onto the countertop.
"I've just missed you. Miss the intimacy we haven't had in a few days," Ash whispers against your lips as his hands drag themselves up your thighs.
You rest your hands against his face, stroking his skin before reconnecting to your lips with his. Ashton picks you up again before walking towards your shared bedroom, setting you onto the bed after shutting the door behind him.
"Wait," you mumble and get up from the bed, Ashton's eyes following you as you get the ring you bought him out of your purse.
The black-haired man sits on the bed, shirtless while waiting for you to come back to him. "What are you doing?" He laughs and you take a deep breath before walking over to him.
His hazel eyes look up at you as you straddle his lap, giving him the velvety-black box. Ashton's lips part slightly while taking the box from you, inspecting it slowly.
"What's this?" Ashton asks but you don't say anything, just motion for him to open it. He opens the ring box, his eyes widening a bit, and quickly looks back up at you. "Sweetheart…"
"Do you like it?" You ask nervously as he removes it from the box before sliding it onto his finger. "I know we've only been together for two years, but-"
"I love it, baby," Ashton cuts you off and you smile while letting out a sigh of relief. A small chuckle leaves his lips as he places the palm of his hand on your cheek. "I never thought you'd make the first move like this."
A blush covers your cheeks and you shrug your shoulders. "You're the first guy I've fallen in love with and I don't see myself with anyone else," you confess to him, your cheeks feeling super warm and Ash grins widely while stroking your face.
"You're so adorable when you're all shy. I'm in love with you too, darling. I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life with you."
Your eyes flutter shut at his words, your stomach erupting with butterflies as you rest your forehead against his forehead. Ashton's hands trail up and down your back as the two of you sit in silence for a moment.
"Maybe we make it official?" He suddenly asks and you pull away from him. "I go out and buy you a ring," he mumbles while one of his hands grabs your left one, lacing your fingers together.
"I-I mean… if that's what you want, yeah, I wouldn't mind," you bite your lip, and Ash giggles softly.
He flips the two of you around, your back pressed against the mattress as he hovers above you. "Let me make love to you first," Ash whispers against your skin, and your breath catches in your throat, nodding your head in response.
