i NEED osama to get his breakout role already i can't handle constantly following shitty projects for his supporting roles like he's too talented for this (the fact that he has to play second fiddle to zaviyar in that hiba bukhari drama.. EVIL)😔 and same for zainab shabbir as well like that entire friend group is quite talented tbh and i really am waiting for the rest of them to get their big break the way sehar did. it's frustrating how consistently relegated to bad soaps the non-nepo crowd are :/

like i don't get what else should Usama do???? he has the looks and the charm and his dramas have done well. his jodi with Anmol was praised by the social media awaam and any PH with two braincells would've cast the two as a pair again to cash in on it (but we got them in a show where Anmol was negative and Usama was a supporting). HE IS A DAMN SIGHT BETTER THAN ZAVIYAR BUT HE'S PLAYING SECOND FIDDLE TO HIM GOD I HATE IT I HATEEE IT!!! deserving people in this industry are not getting a chance at all! and then they are the ones being used as examples for perpetuating "bad" content like BRUH! they have to do their job! they won't say no to a project that earns them money because well they don't HAVE a super rich daddy to pay their bills. GAH! :@

If one's parents are sinners, how can that person obey them? What are the boundaries of obeying parents?

Asma bint Abi Bakr narrates:

"My mother, who was still a polytheist then, came to my house. I asked the Prophet (pbuh) how I should treat her:

'My mom has come to my house and wants to talk to me. Shall I treat her well?' The Prophet (pbuh) said,

'Yes. Show respect to her.'"[Bukhari, Hiba 28, Adab 8; Muslim, Zakah 50 (1003); Abu Dawud, Zakah, 34 (1668)]

There are discussions about Asma's mother mentioned in the hadith. What matters for us is the decree the hadith expresses. It is understood from the hadith that it is necessary to fulfill our duties and to show respect toward our parents even if they are unbelievers. The decree that it is wajib to give nafaqa (sustenance money) to parents even if they are unbelievers is extracted from this hadith.

The importance of the issue to show respect to parents and to give them sustenance money even if they are unbelievers is understood from the fact that revelation was sent after the hadith mentioned above and the issue was made definite by the Quran:

"Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just." (al-Mumtahina, 60/8)

The following verse is clearer regarding respect toward parents:

"But if they strive to make the join in worship with Me things of which thou hast no knowledge obey them not; Yet bear them company in this life with justice (and consideration) and follow the way of those who turn to Me (in love)…" (Luqman, 31/15)

According to those explanations, it is understood directly that it is necessary to show respect to Muslim parents no matter how sinful they are.

To obey is one thing and to rebel is another. We are ordered to definitely obey our parents unless rebellion against Allah is in question. Then, it is necessary to fulfill all of their orders that are not contrary to the orders of Allah. Their request that are contrary to Allah’s orders cannot be fulfilled; however, it is necessary not to rebel against them. These requests are not fulfilled; it is better to keep silent and to continue showing respect to them.

It is Allah who changes hearts. It is necessary to take refuge in Him. The love and respect shown to parents by children may cause the hearts of parents to soften. The aim should be to win their hearts.

Our religion regards aunts and uncles as mothers and fathers. Therefore, respect shown to them is regarded as respect shown to parents. Their haram requests cannot be fulfilled but it is necessary to show respect to them and to visit them.

As for the other relatives, it is not appropriate to stop visiting them. Instead of stopping visiting them, it is necessary to try to show them the right path even if they are sinners.

Anybody can act like a brother when a person has a good and easy life. What matters is to act like a brother when a person has hard times and not to leave that person alone with evil deeds and sins. This is the real friendship and brotherhood.

It is our duty to try to complete the missing deeds of our relatives who make some mistakes and who have some wrong beliefs in terms of Islamic life and to introduce them the truth.

The advice of Allah Almighty to the Prophet (pbuh) is clear:

"And admonish thy nearest kinsmen." (ash-Shuara, 26/214)

Is this divine advice not valid for all of us?

I always find it strange/interesting how some actors have such a passionate online fanbase while others don't. Mahira has hardcore fans, but Mehwish and Saba don't even though Mehwish is also commercially popular. Sajal, Yumna, the Fairytale actors have a massive online fandom, but Ayeza and Hiba Bukhari are probably more popular among real world drama viewers. Is it a mark of which demo the actresses appeal to (the younger your target demo the more online your fandom is)?

I think it's also to do with the kind of projects that the actors do? Mahira got her fame through Humsafar which was a romantic melodrama and thus attracted the younger audience, the ones who were more online. her future selection of projects (as well as her smart moves in maintaining and furthering her fandom) gained her a vocal and loyal fanbase that stays with her till now. I don't recall Mehwish or Saba getting success on the basis of a romantic jodi. they are solid actors, undoubtedly. but their work resonated more with the more...detached from fandom audience than the chronically online one.

Same goes for Ayeza and Hiba. Hiba toh i don't think ever had a kind of pairing that got her social media's attention. Ayeza's most popular social media pairing is with Hamza and that happened like a decade ago. their work, again, resonates more with home audience than the twitter audience. Ayeza sustained her hold on the pop culture conversations by being part of projects that held the social media's attention as well as the attention of the real world audience. plus, her Instagram game is no joke. she learned quickly what gets the likes on an insta post and what gets the ratings from the at-home audience. and she is balancing the two of them.

First time I saw craze for Sajal came when she was working back to back with Feroze (her boyfriend if not a fiance at that time) and later with Ahad. the show that shot Yumna to mainstream fame was Pyar ke Sadqay and during that time her jodi with Bilal Abbas was a darling of the social media audience.

I AM NOT SAYING THAT COMPLETE CREDIT OF THEIR SUCCESS GOES TO THE PAIRINGS THEY HAVE BEEN A PART OF BUT A SUCCESSFUL ROMANTIC ON-SCREEN PAIRING CONTRIBUTES A LOT IN GIVING AN ACTOR SOCIAL MEDIA FAME.

Younger audience will be more online and hence be able to create more traction for their favs on social media. they are the ones free enough to trend on twt every time their fav breathes or have enough lack on inhibition to go on multiple instagram accounts and demand more content for their favs. that is not to say that actors or celebs that don't get the same amount of social media traffic aren't as well known in real world. they are. but their audience has a different kind of buying power than the social media popular ones' fans do.
