The two of you were sent out on a mission, you were suppose to return the next day, but your enemies had other plans. Other plans that included you get hurt and Toshiro having to carry you back to the nearest place you could find.

You couldn't put much weight on your left leg and you insisted that you could walk, but Toshiro was too worried. He ignored you and demanded that you get on his back.

There was no point in arguing with you, so you climbed onto his back and he gave you a piggyback ride all the way to the little cabin in the woods.

"What if someone lives here?" you ask as Toshiro carries you up to the door.

"They're not home now," Toshiro retorts harshly, opening the door and stepping inside. Your eyes glance around the cabin, smelling of wood and honey.

It's not much. There's a bed snugged in the corner, two bookshelves, a little kitchenette, and a wooden table in the middle. Toshiro walks over to the bed and gently sits you down on it.

"Are you hungry?" Toshiro asks, walking into the kitchenette. You cock an eyebrow with surprise.

"You know how to cook?" you ask curiously.

"No...but I can try," he suggests, chewing on his bottom lip. Your eyes widen and you let out a tiny chuckle.

"Maybe hold off the cooking for another day. I really don't want you to burn down this cabin with both of us inside," you suggest and Toshiro nods his head, a smile panning across his face.

The sun starts to disappear over the horizon and the darkness settles in.

"Ok, then we should get some sleep. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow," Toshiro explains and you pull back the cover, inviting him in.

"There's room, Toshiro," you point out, climbing underneath the covers.

"No, it's okay. I'll sleep on the ground."

"The bed is big enough for the two of us," you suggest and Toshiro shakes his head, still unsure.

"No, it's okay. You deserve sleep, too. Please," you plead with him, eyes softening. Toshiro lets out a tiny sigh and climbs into the bed with you.

You both lay there in the defining silence, too scared to even move or breath. You glance over at Toshiro, staring up at the ceiling. He turns his head and you quickly rip your gaze away.

He shifts in the bed at the same time you do. Your hands brush up against each other's and your heart skips a beat. Toshiro gulps and his eyes shift over to you.

His icy eyes lock onto yours as your hands are pressed together. You slowly move your hand over his, interlacing your fingers. Your breath hitches in your throat as you wait for his reaction.

You swear you could see a slight smile on Toshiro's face in the darkness. His fingers rest on the top of your hand and he squeezes, gently.

A chill runs down your spine, your body jolting slightly. You weren't sure how you were going to go to bed, emotions running wild, but you were safe.

my piece for @chaos-night's Gintama collab~ What I had in mind originally was a whole ass threesome but due to personal reasons I can't write as much as I want to though I decided to make it just a slightly suggestive story~ There's probably gonna be the 2nd part but no promises~ enjoy!

You had always liked Halloween, even more than other celebrations: the thrilling feeling of scaring others prompted you to volunteer at the local horror maze. Thoughout the year the roles you got were different: a psycho clown, a witch, a demon. Today you were a ghost. Nothing too extraordinary: a short white dress and some makeup to make you look like you had been dead for centuries. Unfortunately, one thing was ruining your long-awaited fun - the reputation of the Horror maze was so promising that the owner had to add one funny feature: visitors can go off the path whenever they feel like it. Though if they wanted to go the second time, they'd have to pay the full price once again. A very nice feature for scaredy cats who want to save some nerves, but a very upsetting for you, since this year you were the last actor or, how your colleagues called it, the lonely one. Because no way in hell at least one person would make it to your location.

That was how your Halloween had been going - for almost the whole evening you had been sitting behind the curtains, bored and sleepy. Where did the whole mood go? You let out a depressed sigh, looking at the hallway in front of you. Suddenly you heard people bickering behind the outer wall.

- What, Hijikata-kun, too scared to even set a foot inside?

- You bet, Yorozuya. Look at you shaking, too scared to even come a little bit closer? We're even not at the entrance yet!

Through a small hole in the wall you saw that two arguing people were Sakata Gintoki and Hijikata Toshiro, your close friends. Well, you had been friends for some years, but lately they started to act rather weird: the amount of their fights had increased dramatically compared to before. Sometimes it even seemed they were fighting for... your attention?

You were happy to see them and had already opened the mouth to greet them when remembered that the place you were in was lowkey sound-proof and given the celebration outside there were no chances they'd hear you at all.

- She's in the far back, right?- you caught Gintoki saying in the distance.

- Remember the bet, who gets there first wins, and the person who wins..,- and they were gone before you could hear the end of that sentence.

Curiosity got the best of you, so you started writhing in anticipation. Soon you'd see one of your best friends, of course, if they overcome their fear.

You knew the exact moment they entered the maze - both of their screams combined had been louder than any other you had heard that day. And, surprisingly to you, they were moving very fast in your direction - you could almost see them running together, hand in hand, tears streaming down their cheeks. The uncontrollable laughter shook your body, completely ruining your mood and preventing you to see two men finally making it to your part of the maze in the exact position you envisioned them: scared like hell and completely out of they minds.

Running past you they didn't give you a single glance until they faced an exit. There Hijikata stopped, remembering, why they were there in the first place.

- Wait, Gintoki!- he hissed through teeth, trying to prevent his friend from running away.

- Why?- Sakata cried out, trying to overpower Toshiro but failing due to his shaking legs.

- Did you forget why we're here? We came to see y/n!- Hijikata reminded, his voice shaking just as hard as his friend's legs.

- We'll see them tomorrow, when we're safe and sound!

- No, we have to do it now!

- Then you're turning back first! Why are you just standing there?!

- Yes, why don't you just turn back?- you asked sweetely behind their backs.

A silent pause before the disaster. Taken aback by your voice, the guys suppressed their instinct to run. Completely different but so alike, they didn't exchange a single word but their minds were united: they were men and they had to act brave to impress you. You could see their posture shifting to more confident ones, how they steaded themselves, calming the shake in their bodies. One deep breath and they both started to turn back to you, their mouthes open to greet you.

- Yes, why don't you just turn back?- you asked sweetey behind their backs.ar coming back to their eyes and blood leaving their features. Instead of a friendly greeting you got a bone-chilling shriek and the men were gone before you could even give them a smile.

It took you at least one hour to finally calm down and stop laughing, no way you would let them live with this. You couldn't even laugh anymore, what was leaving your lips were pathetic wheezes. It was too bad that your Halloween mood was completely ruined and you didn't feel the scary atmosphere anymore but your evening still was good.

You were wondering what exactly the prize of their bet was when the lights went out. Shoked you stood in the hallway, frozen in place. You weren't exactly scared, just concerned, not understanding what happened. Unexpectedly you felt a pair of hands on your hips, someone's presence looming behind you. The beating of your heart fastened but, as you were about to scream, another pair of hands cupped your cheeks.

- Scared, kitten? It's just us.

It took you seconds to realise that in front of you was standing no one other than Gintoki himself.

- Sorry, we didn't mean to startle you,- said Toshiro next to your ear.

- Unlike you, though,- you felt Gintoki's breath looming over your lips. He was smirking, that bastard.

- It's not my fault you two are easily-scared babies,- you shot back, placing one hand at Gintoki's hot chest. He was so close it made your head spin.

Hijikata had always been a gentlemen and while you respected him for it, that moment you wanted him to act a little bit bolder. Intimate darkness, the closeness of these two men made you feel some things you probably shouldn't be feeling that moment.

- You,- whispered Gintoki, getting closer in opposite with Toshiro who was getting further. - And I won, right, Hijikata-kun? You can go!

" W-well,you see~~I fidget with the hem of my yukata's skirt~~gintoki offered himself to take me home after work and maybe we'll even go grab something so...." I can't continue, I can feel my face burning if I think that me and gintoki will spend some time alone!!!!

"Oh,I see....." He say with a bitter tone,his face darkens. The moment was interrupted by sougo,who just entered the room with his bazooka,ready to strike the poor toshi.

Finally the so awaited moment arrived!!! And luckily toshi menaged to survive to sougo once more. I was outside the base, it was raining and it was freezing cold but I didn't mind since gintoki would soon come. "Are you sure you don't want to go inside? It freezing outside here" toshi say to me " don't worry about it toshi, besides he'll be here Any minute now so I'll just wait here" I reply smiling, he doesn't seem really convinced,but he let me be " alright,but if he doesn't come get in"

It has been a while, but no traces of him 'that's alright,he'll come any minute now'

Half an hour has passed,I'm completely soaked at this point 'maybe he had some trouble in the way,he'll be there.....I know'

Another half hour has passed,I can't feel my fingers anymore so I try to warm myself with my breath ' gintoki will come!he'll definitely come!!' ' he didn't forget about me.....right?"

One hour has passed, at this point it's night,I'm still here waiting for him.I'm shivering,I feel like I'm getting weak,I can't stand up anymore. Suddenly I hear my phone ring, so with the little strength I had left I answered the call,barely able to move my fingers

" Hello?"

" Hey y/n sorry I didn't come get you,I had an unforeseen....sorry"

I could hear ayame,tsukuyo and otae voices from the background. I could literally feel my heart breaking piece by piece,the hot tears flood down my frozen cheeks,but I didn't make a sound.I know I should be angry at him,I should be shouting at him, but I can't bring myself to do it.

"Hello?y/n are you still there?I'm sorry if I couldn't come, I suppose you got home hours ago right?"

"..... y-yeah, I got home after a while, don't worry about it......it happens" I whisper,hiding well my broken and desperate state

"I promise I'll make this up,bye"

After I close the call I finally broke in tears ' how could I be this stupid?!'. I start walking towards my house,barely menaging to do so since I don't have any strength anymore. The street of Edo at night are scary, especially when the rain it's pouring like this but I'm too broken to even care. '

"I knew I didn't have any chance against them!!~~I tripped on my feet and I hit the wet and cold ground~~and yet.....and yet I still hoped that I could have a chance...." I began coughing violently

"Am I so unimportant to you..... gintoki?" I ask with a wire of voice

Suddenly I feel so weak that I can't keep my eyes open anymore and before everything goes black I whisper: " I wanted to be with you......even if I don't deserve you"

Third person's p.o.v.

Back at the shinsengumi's base hijikata toshiro is getting nervous .why? Because he had been calling y/n on her phone but she hasn't answer any of his calls "come on..." He grumble "you know hijikata-san, today your face is even more ugly ....".Now, don't get me wrong, even if it doesn't seem so sougo is actually pretty worried , he really love y/n and he could never forgive himself if anything bad happens to her,but his pride wouldn't allow him to show his worry ,so to mask this emotion he does what he does better; make fun of hijikata

Too bad hijikata is too busy worrying over y/n to even care about his mocks.hijikata toshiro tought that he could never fell in love again after mitsuba,but he was oh,so wrong.In fact when he first saw y/n it was love at first sight, her beautiful shining h/c and her eyes.....so captivatings,he couldn't take his own eyes off of them like they were some kind of magnet. She was so beautiful.....too beautiful for him to deserve her but he promised himself that even if she would never love him,he would always protect her.

Seeing his indifferece towards him mean comment made sougo even more frustrated "we should go check if she's alright~~he say, standing up~~we aren't concluding anything by sitting here". Hijikata agreed,so they quickly got out of the base and took one of the shinsengumi's car.

The rain was pouring so much that hijikata could barely see outside the glass of the car. " If that idiot samurai came get her with his scooter they definitely soaked themselves...." ".... HIJIKATA-SAN!!LOOK OVER THERE!" sougo screamed whilst he pointed at a fainted figure on the ground......more precisely y/n

"...shit~~he cursed as he immediately got out of his car speeding toward her~~she's frozen!!! We have to take her to the hospital!!!"

×××××TIMESKIP,at the hospital

"How is she doctor?" Hijikata asked

"She's stable for now, even though she has a very high fever....if she stayed there for some more time she could've died from hypothermia but luckily you saved her...."

"When will she wake up?"

"I can't say it for sure,it all depends on how much her body will take to recover......we'll do our best"

With that the doctor left, leaving hijikata alone with his growing anger

'Why was she alone?~~ he angrily clench his fist~~why that bastard left her alone?!'.he was furious,how could that asshole treat her like that?! All he could think about was her frail and frozen body in his arms as he transported her to the hospital.she was so happy to be with him,she had that beautiful smile that he wished was for him but it wasn't. And that fucking bastard didn't even care!!

Hijikata and sougo's expressions darkens at her words " stay with her, I'll go to that bastard...." Hijikata whisper and sougo just nods his head. He exit the hospital,clenching his fists, a furious expression on his face, he was gonna make him pay.......

plus, he's seen the proposals with kondō.

he doesn't have his hopes up that any proposal he receives would be pleasant.

but he goes along with it because like kondō it's for the sake of the shinsengumi.

so he doesn't have much of a choice.

sōgo's giggling in the background.

when he meets the proposed partner for the first time, he's distance.

polite, but you can tell he's agreed to this for status.

so he ends up agreeing to the marriage.

waiting to cook food for him, listen to troubles - venting about sōgo - he may have, and give all the love they have.

You don't mean but he does. He got to deal with these kids all day every day, can't he have one day alone with his partner?

Because of the surprise guests, he doesn't have much money for snacks or other fun stuff there.

No problem cause you brought stuff from home, including food.

Gin is falling for you even more now.

You guys sit in the shade while watching the kids play in the water. Gintoki takes advantage of the small private moment and snuggle up to you.

He enjoys it for a while til he gets hit in the face with a bech ball by Kagura. Start chasing her for revenge, but he buried now.

By the end of the day, he apologized for how it didn't go well, but you stopped him by saying you had a great time. You didn't mean cause you still got to spend time with him.

It's super rare for you and your husband to come home at the same time. So imagine your surprise when you return home from crazy day at work, about to unlock the front door, to see him walking up the stairs to your shared apartment together. He seems exhausted.

"Oh? Hey there." He leans down to give you a kiss on the head.

"You're home early, toshi. Did something happen? " You unlocked the door, and you both walked inside.

"No. Kondo-san just made me home early after an raid we did today."

"Thank God for Kondo-san. You're not hurt, are you?" You lead him to the couch and sit there with him, check him for any wounds.

"Outside of the assassination attempt on my life by sougo, I'm fine. Just exhausted. Want to sleep. You?"

"Honesty? I feel the same. Having to deal with those annoying people at work and the stuck up customers drained me mentally and physically. " you collapse onto Hijikata's chest, wrapping your arms around his neck. He responded to this by warms his arms around your waist.

"So the plan is to just lay here snuggling each other til we pass out?" You nozzle your head deeper into his chest as a answer. "With some kisses too please."

He giggles hearing that from you, knowing you were going to say that. Hence why he happily but slowly places gently kiss wherever he can on you. Wouldn't stop til he felt you sleeping on him and places one more before falling asleep himself.

Hope you like this one! This is my first time doing scenario and the prompt was adorable I hope I didn't mess it up.

Imagine with me....

It's your day off from work and you're hanging out with your friends, just having fun. You were asked what you did before meeting up and you said shopping which made you bring up this perfume shop you visited.

You didn't buy anything but you caught a whiff of this really good men's cologne that just got. You couldn't describe the smell but it was amazing scent that made you swoon. While talking about it, you jokingly said this

'If I had a boyfriend and he wore that cologne, I would jump him right then and there!'

Everyone was laughing at the jokes and didn't think to much of it. You were just kidding, nobody was taking you seriously, right?

That is until the next day at work...

Gintoki Sakata

You were serving customers their food at the bar tonight instead of the usual serving drinks from behind the counter. Boss said it something about 'special service'. You were getting closer (physically) than before which you hate since it's only gross drunk men that smell like booze and sadness.

Hearing the bell above the door, signaling new customers, you lift your head to give the typical happy 'Welcome' greeting to them. Hearing a deep lazy voice answer back made you know that Sakata has returned for his usual order of red beans over rice and cold beer.

You get his order and walk to his table ,when put everything down in front of him, you catch a good whiff of him.

Sweet scent of strawberries with a hint of... that cologne from the other day?

No way. Can't be. But you remember that scent.

'You got some new cologne? Smells good. '

'No. Just a sample. Lady sprayed me before coming here.'

His eyes turned towards you in a certain way that makes your body shiver slightly.

'Said it makes women jump me on the spot. You think she was right?'

It's was pretty hectic day at the host club you worked at and it was because of one reason and one reason only.

Shinsengumi visit. Which means everyone are trying their best to gain the attention of these handsome officers. And by that you mean mainly Okita Sougo and Hijikata Toshirou.

Since Okita didn't come their sights were set on the demon vice chief but he decided to be entertained by you and you only. Which set everyone sights on you but there's some bad intentions in those stares.

The jealous glares was just the tip of this awkward moment since the vice chief wasn't a big talker which leads to alot of random pauses in the conversation.

'Work must of been pretty busy for you, Hijikata-san?'

'Not more than usual'

'I mean being the vice chief is a demanding position but only the best for job.'

'Hmmm.'

With one word responses and his stoic attitude, you wanted to trade with anyone here but you didn't want to be rude and you can't deny it but you're curious about why he chose you.

When you were about to ask him, he start to get closer to you and turns towards you. 'Can I ask you something personal?'

'But of course'

'Do you like men who wear cologne?' Huh? Cologne?

'As much as the next girl'

You noticed his face was heating up after you answered that question aswell his cup of Dom Perignon was empty. Being the good hostess you are, you fill it back up

But being near him, you get a good whiff of him. Nicotine and mayonnaise. There's an another scent mixed in. The cologne from yesterday?

'I heard women like men better if they're wearing cologne. I bought some and decided to wear it.' His face was bright red and turned down but he looked up at you with a nervous look in his eyes.

'Do you happen to like it?'

I low key want to write a hijikata x reader where after confessing their drunken love for hijikata, they find themselves inside his bed with him sleeping right next to them. They think they did the do and doesn't remember anything (because of how drunk they were) only to find out their they didn't do the do and hijikata accept their feelings and the reason they were in bed together was because they just make out and fall sleep afterwards.
