AdGuard AdBlocker / uBlock Origin : adguard is a basic adblock and with origin you can also block any other element you want. for example i got rid of the shop menu on tumblr

Privacy Badger : this add on will block trackers. if an element contains a tracker it will give you the option to use it or not

Shinigami Eyes: this will highlight transphobic and trans friendly users and sites using different colors by using a moderated database. perfect to avoid terfs on any social media. i will explain how to use this and other add-ons on android as well under the read more cut

Xkit: the best tumblr related add on. with many customizable options, xkit not only enhances your experience from a visual standpoint, but provides some much needed accessibility tools

Enhancer for YouTube: adds some useful options such as custom play speed, let's you play videos in a window and most important of all, it allows you to make the youtube interface as ugly as your heart desires. I can't show a full image of what it looks like because i've been told its eye strainy and i want this post to be accessible but look at this <3

WayBack Machine: you probably know about this site and definitely should get the add on. this allows you to save pages and access older versions with the click of a button. while you can search wayback using web archives, please get this one as well as it allows you to easily save pages and contribute to the archive.

Web Archives: it allows you to search through multiple archives and search engines including WayBack Machine, Google, Yandex and more.

Search by Image: allows you to reverse image search using multiple search engines (in my experience yandex tends to yield the best results)

Augmented Steam: useful info specially for browsing and buying games

HOW TO USE MOZILLA ADD-ONS ON YOUR PHONE

if you already use firefox on android, you'll know there are certain add-ons compatible with the app, some of them even being made just for the mobile version such as Video Background Play FIx. while most of them are pretty useful, some more specific ones aren't available on this version of the browser, but there's a way of getting some of them to work

you need to download the firefox nightly app, which is basically the same as the regular firefox browser but with the ability of activating developer mode. you can find how to do that here. once you've enabled it, you need to create a collection with all the add ons you want. i wouldn't recommend adding extensions if the creators haven't talked about phone compatibility, but XKit and Shinigami Eyes should work

also, don't tell the government this secret skater move, but you can try using both the regular firefox browser and nightly so you can have youtube videos in a floating box while you browse social media.

WELCOME TO THE WORST CHARACTER POLL

Hello tumblrinas. I have seen a lot of character polls where people vote for the characters they like the most out of a given bracket, or that they think best fits a category. However, I haven't seen a poll yet for the most hated motherfuckers out there, even though this website has dedicated tags for hating on specific fictional characters. So I thought it would be really funny if I hosted one.

The brackets are not currently set. I have a few characters in mind already, but not enough for a full bracket, and I want more varied opinions. So I am calling on you, dear Tumblr user reading this, to send me the characters you fucking despise and want to see fight other hateable characters to the death. The size of the bracket will depend on how many characters I get, although I doubt it'll be larger than 64.

General guidelines for submissions:

Fictional characters only.

Please give a short explanation as to why the character is hated. I don't know every media.

I don't really want to include characters that are heavily associated with real-life bigotry, to keep things light-hearted

Soft ban on characters whose main trait is that they're like a shitty parent or politician or something, because there are a lot of those and they're hateable pretty much by default. If I didn't do this I feel like at least half of the tournament would be Ozais and Bill Hawkses, which is kind of boring.

I'm less interested in characters who are like, well-written villains, or "love to hate," or designed to be hateable. I'm more looking for characters that piss you off because you don't like how they're written, or they're annoying, or they're supposed to be sympathetic but you hate them anyways.

These aren't particularly hard and fast "rules" (except for the first few); like, I already want to include Walter White which kind of violates the last rule. Exceptions can apply if it's funny enough, I think. But thats for me to decide >:)

Also, just to be clear, when voting, you should be voting for the character you hate more. Winning this poll will be the ultimate dishonor. Characters nominated will already be widely hated.

So... I hope for success in this endeavor! And please don't bring actual fandom discourse into my inbox

And so it concludes. With the work of so many artists and writers from the Yuri on the Web Discord server, working together across time (zones) and space (continents), the full deck has been assembled, both as art and stories. This post will include links to everything.

A big THANK YOU to every artist and writer on this project for participating and letting all us mortals enjoy your wonderful works. It's been such a pleasure to do this project. And thank you to everyone who indulged my dumb idea initially. Me making an entire deck by myself would've been dumb (my poor hand) but with all your help this became such a fun group project where no hands were lost.

A special thanks to Lil for being the co-admin on this project, managing everything AO3 because I am useless at that and being there for me to ping pong ideas and desicions off of. I'm not a very desicive person on my own so I really appreciated having someone to share my thoughts with.

Honestly guys I sound like a sociopath but I’m really just very pained and fucked royally by circumstance that is too dramatic and gay for anyone except the loonies on tumblr to understand. I’m so disappointed by all this unjust pain and agony of the world- the children, the animals, the environment, the people that I have conditioned myself to display an eloquence so pungent it seems like I’m a cold manipulator. Maybe they have been placed all the blame by the enemy and they are powerless to the human condition as you all are by an unknown enemy and is fated to be tortured in anxiety and pain invisible to all and the only infinite power they have is love that bleeds.

But I’ll give you and I both the peace of mind that I am an in fact just a mentally ill human whose life span is between the zones of expiration and fermentation, with a god complex, whom their closest people will never truly know how to care no matter how much they try- and in fact the more they try to help me the more they leave me in my original state- alone.

John was tired. More tired than he had been in his life, if he was being honest. A newborn was swaddled in a crib, bawling her eyes out as a soft lullaby played from the spinning toy above. Not that it made much of a difference, being mostly drowned out. Planets, as well as some stars, slowly spun from the device, which hung above the crib. It was late at night (or early morning; he wasn’t sure), with only the soft glow of a lamp giving off any light. There were heavy bags under his eyes, as well as objects scattered around the main room frantically. Half drunk bottles of baby milk that had gone cold from sitting out, baby toys, blankets, pillows, anything he could think of. He rocked the crib to no avail. Nothing seemed to be working.

“What do I do, what do I do, what do I do…” He muttered, almost hopeless. Sitting on a small wooden chair, he rested his head in his hands. He wanted to stay like that forever. It felt like he could sleep for centuries and still wake up tired. As he rocked the crib and pitied himself, he realized something. Most of all, he was scared. And that was scary to admit to himself. He was tired and frustrated and alone, and he feared what could happen with a deadly combination like that. With a newborn, nonetheless. A half-formed idea came to his mind. It’s late, he probably won’t even answer.

He picked up his head and stared at the living room window, covered by thin curtains. Not that he could see anything, it was so dark that the lamp light reflected off of the glass. Sighing heavily, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone.

“Mhgm, hello?”

Jack had been sleeping when he was rudely awakened by his ringtone. Checking his alarm clock, it read 1:37 am. He squinted at the bright light of his phone as he picked up and held it to his ear.

“Hey. It's John.”

“Hello. You sound horrible, is everything alright?”

“...”

“John?”

“I need help. Just- come over. Please.”

Jack’s heart dropped at the tone of his voice. Desperate, lonely- not a tone he was used to coming from John.

“I’ll be right over. Should I bring anything?”

“I don't know- stuff for babies? Just being here would be enough.”

“Got it. I’ll be over as soon as I can. Hang in there.”

“Alright.”

Jack hung up and rushed to the kitchen, turning on the lights. He wouldn’t bring too much, but enough. ‘Let’s see-’ Jack thought.

A can of chicken soup, a fresh pair of clothes, a blanket, and… done. Picking up the clothes and blanket, he folded them, set them on top of each other, and put the soup on top. Leaving the pile on the counter, he rushed to put on his winter coat and earmuffs, and threw the supplies into the trunk of his car. He quickly grabbed the essentials; his keys, phone, and wallet, and got in his car.

The drive to John’s house wasn’t far; it was a pretty small town. He pulled up to the small place and, grabbing all he had brought, walked up to the front door. Shifting slightly on the small porch, he knocked. After a few nervous seconds, the door opened.

“You look horrible!” Jack exclaimed. He hardly realized his brashness, more worried than sarcastic.

“Thanks.”

“Don’t worry, I brought some stuff.”

John let him in, and the living room wasn't in any better of a state than it was when he was on the phone. Objects strewn about, stains dried on the floor, the usual for an infant.

Walking over to the crib, Jack frowned slightly at the baby. Her eyes were closed as she cried tearlessly, rocking in the swaddle she was in.

“Let's get this one sorted out first.”

Un-swaddling her, Jack checked her for any baby problems: dirty diaper, spitting up, the works. Not seeing anything particularly wrong, he took off his cold winter jacket and walked to the bathroom. “What are you doing?” John asked, walking behind him. “White noise can help. I’ll turn on the washing machine.” John shrugged in response and the beeping of a few buttons was heard, before the machine started. Going back to the crib, he stifled a yawn as he scooped up the baby and held her, swaying slightly. He continued for some time. It could’ve been hours if he was being honest, trying to remember what he had learned about taking care of young children. Her cries became slightly quieter as he went on, and he soon half whispered to John. “Go sit on the couch. You look like you need a rest.”

Not in any position to argue, he did just that.

Moments later, Charlotte was still and asleep, gentle puffs of breath leaving her.

“There we go,” Jack whispered as quietly as he could. Swaddling her gently, he cleared anything that may have been in the crib before and slowly leaned down, placing her gently.

“That's more like it.”

Looking at John, he couldn't say he was surprised. Still as a rock, he was dead asleep with nothing but a decorative pillow under his head. Jack wordlessly took the clean blanket he had brought and draped it over him, knowing how cold it could get. It was December. Finally, he looked around the living room. Dirty, still, but much calmer. As quietly as he could, he picked up soft things and placed them next to the couch, and things like toys he put in a large basket he noticed some had remained in. Pleased with his work, he looked outside. Pitch black, and very icy. No way I can drive home in this… Cutting his losses, he made his way to the guest bedroom to get settled in. He kicked off his boots and placed them neatly next to the bed, flicking off the light and getting comfortable under the covers.

Whether he knew it or not, he had saved a life that night.

Hello my dearest tumblrinas.

It came to my attention recently that there are a lot of new people on this blog. Some of you don't even know that this used to be a blog dedicated to Bucky Barnes (rip softlybarnes). I've gone through an insane amount of content and fixations (for me) over the last year, and if there are any OGs around, I salute you. You're very dear to me, and your support means everything.

I'm approaching a follower milestone, and its made me incredibly emotional. I just want to say, from the very bottom of my heart, thank you. For your support and love and indulgence and kindness. For being readers and commenters and lovers and so very generous with your time and love. This blog and these characters and all of you have quite literally made a huge impact on me and who I am and how I've grown. Having you all here in my back pocket has very literally saved my life. And I'll always be grateful for that.

get on your nerves (to get your attention) by acynthe (M) 3.9k // what better way to get to know a character than by reading him pine over one person for way too long? right? anyways this fic really set me up into understanding that haikaveh = watching ice melt in the arctic during winter..

Work engagement by gwendee (G) 3.6k // silly little boys in their silly little parties with their silly little plans.. the line that stuck with me was bringing their love to new heights because cyno was right.. it was funny..

and yet by luminvies (G) 11.8k // this fic was so poetic and eloquent to me it was a wonderful read and kaveh is so silly girlie pop in it HAHA. but really, it was a wonderful read and i loved how fleshed out kaveh felt despite this being written before he was released LMFAO

In a Language He Understands by Maeyari (G) 13.2k // this was so funny and Kaveh becoming a homewrecker is so insane whaat (totally not fake and not clickbait) that aside, it was a very light hearted read and i enjoyed it very much

ALSO highly recommend the second fic in the series with cynonari. cyno i love u my funny king.
