doll and V go to the same school,, it's a international/private school. V is older than doll and uzi so she's in a different grade and despite going to the same school, she and doll don't cross paths often.

i was half considering their race and then remembered that they're drones and don't really have a race but doll still speaks russian SO i might as well have fun w it !!!! V is italian.

cuz of their strict school rules, doll has to tie her hair up since she doesnt want to cut her hair,, V already has short hair. their uniforms is as u can see in the pic cuz I CANT DESCRIBE CLOTHES SORRY SOBS

V keeps her glasses !!!! in her normal drone form. how she sees as a magical girl?? uhm. chalk it up to cyn being able to do smt abt her vision, haven't decided yet,,

cant have doll without lizzy or V without her squad so lizzy and N and J are in the same sch too !! N and J are in the same grade as V ofc, J has more classes than N and V because.

lizzy and thad are siblings in this au (cuz it sits well w me idk its a fun thought) and they semi-share eye light colours 👍 lizzy went w her dad while thad stayed w the mom, so they grew up in different environments :)

thad and uzi are in the same school !! same grade etc. uzi's more of a loner student and she likes to eat her meals in the school washrooms (don't ask) but if thad invites her she'll eat in the cafetaria w him (as long as his other friends aren't around, she hates them)

uzi's school doesnt know exactly have uniforms?¿ it js came out when i drew her anyway tho 😭 her school is less strict on dress codes so they can wear whatever,, their school is a public one btw

V's full name is Guinevere

N's full name is Angelus

it's yellowjackets / jennifer's body parallels time!

hi hello keep reading if you would like to hear about shauna/jennifer and jackie/needy, here's my totally noncomprehensive, very much off the cuff thoughts on this very complex and interesting dynamic!!

(i'm not getting into the basic parallels, i'm gonna assume you know the karyn kusama of it all, the heart necklace, the homoerotic female friendship, the death)

yellowjackets is so brilliant because it feeds you stereotypes and absolutely does not deliver on them. there could be an entire paper on each girl and how this is true for them specifically, but walk quickly with me because i want to get into the nitty gritty gory fun stuff! a brief oversimplified example: nat is referred to as a burnout, some would assume she's a loner based on that, but she cares about the team as a unit more than arguably anyone else. (this is common in real life too, our stereotypes often don't hold water in reality and yj reflects that beautifully!)

now to the jackie/shauna of it all. it would be oh so incredibly easy to look at jackie and think she's the jennifer of the duo. we are set up to see her as prettier, more popular, more demanding. but that illusion falls apart QUICKLY if you pay attention to the things that jackie actually says and does. she's not a mean girl. she's actually one of the kindest on the team. she doesn't pick on shauna, she clings. there are plenty of takes on this on tumblr so i won't exhaust it, my adhd loves to digress and meander but i'm forcing myself back onto the trodden path to this point: people look at the first few minutes of the pilot and they immediately decide that they know who these girls are. the audience typecasts jackie as a jennifer and shauna as a needy. the popular, bubbly girl and her shy, bookworm best friend.

a lot of people, especially casual viewers who don't study this show like its their job (god, wonder what that would be like lol) understandably stop here. but to me the BRILLIANCE of yj is that they don't actually make it HARD for you to undo your initial impressions. the material is there. it isn't hidden. it isn't some deeper self of each character that is unraveled throughout seasons. they push, push, push to see just how far they can carry our deeply held stereotypes/expectations. how forward and violent can shauna be, with viewers still clinging to a shy and sweet girl, who was really their own creation? how kind and honestly pathetic kicked-puppy can jackie be, with viewers still clinging to a mean girl, who was really their own creation? how far will we go to warp the characters intentions, so that we can keep them in the box we understand them in? they ask this of the viewer and of other characters, but AGAIN i digress.

so, while this might sit strangely with some, yes i think that jackie is very much aligned with needy if you peel back just one layer. but far above and beyond that, shauna is so very fucking jennifer.

the overall veneer is thinned immediately in yj. there isn't one girl in the stands and one on center stage. jackie and shauna are both on the team. they go to the same parties, they play the same sport, i would argue that shauna isn't even coded as "less pretty" (please note the word coded, because i'm not saying needy is literally less pretty than jennifer, i am simply saying that we have hair, makeup, clothing, glasses trends that we use to stereotype characters, are you with me?)

so now what? now these girls are both and neither. shauna thinks that she is the needy to jackie's jennifer. jackie wears the necklace and the introductory shots frame her as important. but we're already diverting from that set-up.

our absolute clearest common denominator here is one that i rarely see people mention funnily enough: JENNIFER IS A SUCCUBUS. she CONSUMES. she KILLS. she WANTS and she TAKES.

now before you get TOO EXCITED!!! i see some of you getting ready to say i'm a shauna shipman hater, put the pitchforks down!! shauna is one of my favorite characters of all time. i love her crazy ass so deeply that it's alarming. (i don't hate jennifer, either, for the record.) i love her largely for WHAT she is. i think sanitizing or sweetening her is a disservice. she's amazing and complex and wounded and capable of deep love. but she also, quite LITERALLY, consumes.

her character is sex and desire and violence and obsession and consumption. and it's AMAZING. she's POWERFUL. she's our main framing character (in this dynamic), rather than needy. the scripts are switched. jennifer dies and needy lives, and that's one story. that's clearer cut, simpler, made for a horror film. but here, jackie dies and shauna lives, and that story is deep and rich and goes on to include a whole lot more death and destruction and chaos.

shauna tells us herself that it excites her. she likes it. she is this girl. this woman. she reminisces and she recreates and she covets.

jennifer tries to consume needy, shauna literally consumes jackie.

there's more to this story, obviously. you could deep dive and mine for the intricacies of the set up and fall of stereotype and expectation, or collect all of the exact parallels. but i'll stick with a few, because this is a quick outburst of thought.

a huge one, who is taking whose boyfriend?

here's another personal favorite of mine, just for kicks

is it too complex to neatly tuck away? absolutely. they're different stories with different themes. shauna isn't simply a teenager possessed by a demon. it runs far deeper. as is the essence of this show.

but if you want to look at parallels, look at the one who has been holding the knife the whole time.

This is the translation of the another post from Russian to English. I understand English, but it is very difficult for me to write in English, so I asked chat GPT to help me. I have corrected some parts, but there still may be mistakes.

I thought the inspiration had run out, but no! I am so glad about this fact! Glad that I have the strength to continue drawing and writing the story.

At work, I often have to work overtime, so after the shift, there is only time to eat and sleep. There is hardly any time for researching the wiki and drawing. It doesn't sound very good, but the work itself is not difficult, and I will have money to live 🤷‍♀️

I have read quite a few levels recently. I see that a lot has changed since the last time I was interested in this topic.

I continue my experiment with marking the test from the perspective of different characters =)

Level 5 was not bad. In the sense that it was still a place of indefinite size with a random set of rooms. But they were all getting used to liminal spaces, and the elegant expensive furniture and designer interiors pleased the eye. Especially after the faceless rooms of the previous levels. The only thing that was not pleasing was the presence of people nearby. They were not visible, but the mere thought of them did not allow relaxation.

🌙 For Nightmare, this place was valuable as the first convenient crossroads level. He also hoped to meet the Society of the Lost Hall, as mentioned in the knowledge base. This meeting could bring interesting information if Nightmare could interest them in something. But at the same time, he did not want to encounter the local devil. This meeting did not bode well for his wards. It remained to be hoped that the creature only visited semi-mad loners (Nightmare looked at the thread that made his team part of Error in the eyes of the Backrooms, and calculated the overall level of sanity that resulted. The result was not dismal. He had everything under control).

It also became evident that this world leaves its mark on his wards. They changed in the same way as Nightmare. Gradually. Almost imperceptibly. He tried to ensure that this did not harm their common goal. Indeed, in Dust's case, these changes turned out to be positive and did not cause concern (Nightmare feared that Dust might return to babbling with hallucinations). Moreover, Deathmoth met often and was intelligent enough to slightly fuel Nightmare's negativity. Insects did not possess strong emotions, but they were easily provoked by external influences.

🦴Dast felt a strong fatigue and fell asleep the moment he sat in one of the comfortable soft chairs. The insects snuffling under his clothes no longer bothered him at all, and the tickle of their legs became pleasant and comforting. Butterflies peacefully floated above his head, flying into his skull like dreams.

Rest had a good effect on his morale, awakening hunger. Dust realized how irregularly he had been eating. This explained his profound exhaustion and weakness. Due to stress, he had not been listening to his body's needs and had been hungry for quite a while.

Horror generously made him a sandwich, and Killer (who also had a sandwich in his hands) shared a handful of sweet Flowey Seeds. Dust hadn't felt this good in a long time. But looking at the Almond Water still made him nauseous. He drank very little, giving the remaining liquid to Deathmoth, who followed him in a pack.

The fur at the base of moth wings resembled cat fur. Dust indulged himself in running his fingers carefully over it.

⛔Error decided to delve into studying the code surrounding him. If on the early levels the code didn't seem too complex (was it a warm-up?), now it seemed that some parts became inaccessible to him: links led to empty memory cells, variable values were taken from nowhere and unpredictable changed within loops (it didn't look functional). Understanding what was happening became more difficult. It required focus.

Engrossed, Error didn't immediately notice the danger. At first, it seemed as if someone had touched him. He was already preparing to erupt in anger when he realized that no one was nearby. It wasn't "Someone," but "Something." Another strange impulse passed through space, brushing against the scattered blue strings in the surrounding area. Nightmare seemed to have felt it too, judging by the ripples on his liquid covering and his wary gaze. Error sent more strings around the room (he snapped at the others' attempts to find out what he was doing. The group immediately became wary, and Horror woke up Cross), trying to gather more data on the vector of this impulse. It felt like a growing wind, but it didn't interact directly with objects. The same sensation can be felt during a rapid descent. A tickling sensation in the gut.

When he opened the code editor, something strange was happening with the coordinates (not that these constants were in order before). Right before his eyes, an unknown programmer was creating a loop to calculate the equation for... Wow. Right now, another space was passing through their room. Or rather, not even the room, but one of the points on its plane. Like an infinite silk scarf through a small silver ring. And this point was moving, expanding, as if an invisible tornado (actually an invitation). Theoretically, this should move everything it touches to another place, but the objects in level 5 space remained in place. Several blue strings snapped.

Before Error could warn the others about the danger (you're exaggerating), he fell into a ...0%...

🪓Horror saw Error go into a reboot, typical for transitioning to another level, and managed to grab onto his black jacket. Then his damaged skull rang from hitting the white floor. The Destroyer crashed into his chest a moment later. Cross screamed in surprise nearby, and Dust cursed. Killer behaved fairly quietly, although something loudly cracked after his fall (it's not bones, is it? God, please, no). Horror tried to turn his head to check, but shut down.

⚔️ Cross, perhaps for the first time during his entire stay in the Backrooms, managed to find a comfortable place to sleep. Previously, he always had to sleep on the bare floor or leaning against Horror's massive figure, which was warm and didn't mind frequent tactile contact.

When his rest was interrupted, he had too little time to grasp the situation. He noticed the tense Nightmare and Horror next to Error. In the next second, something seemed to drag him through a bottle neck (the short path felt similar). He plummeted down like a cannonball.

Cross gathered himself and thanks to this, landed on his feet. In contrast to the rest of the group.

Horror fell quite awkwardly, pinned down by the unconscious Error. Cross hurried to drag the Destroyer away and inspect his friend. But everything seemed fine, no serious injuries. His damaged skull hadn't shattered further, even his HP was almost full, just a couple of scratches and bruises. Cross turned to see the others.

Nightmare was found in the distance, looking disoriented. His outlines seemed blurry, and he slumped against the wall (is he in pain?). But as soon as the Keeper of Negativity caught someone else's gaze, he straightened up and quickly assumed a composed demeanor.

🔪Killer fell onto one of the Deathmoths accompanying Dust. Its chitinous wings cracked loudly and finally detached, with several legs bent in the opposite direction. The insect thrashed in agony, and there was little that could help it. The skeleton itself was unharmed and contemplatively watched its "safety cushion." Dust tensely froze, watching the injured butterfly. But before he could come to any decision, the Killer's knife plunged into the Deathmoth, instantly ending its suffering.

Dust was definitely ready to kill him (too bad he held back). Well, that will make the Killer's life more interesting until Dusty cools down. It used to be difficult to provoke him into a fight, but if the lives of a couple of butterflies allow him to capture his attention... the Killer will consider this option in the future. It's interesting, will their group find any more Strange equipment? That would be nice. It seems these items allow for some amusing tricks.

Nevertheless, Dust took the lifeless body of the insect. Was he going to bury it?

The group allowed themselves to stay in place until all of them regained consciousness, and then moved forward. Mostly, they encountered empty white corridors with occasional locked passages leading to laboratories and production areas. According to the records, they were on level 15. And it was unpleasant. There were no clear exits on this level, and the way they got here was hard to describe as... reproducible. Seriously, what the hell?

One of the laboratories was open. Inside, there was futuristic medical equipment that Dust immediately tried to use. Surprisingly, it worked! The dead insect came back to life, but its coloration changed (these colors triggered unpleasant memories).

The next significant event was the appearance of a human.

thoughts on a starless clan so far

i don't know if anything i said here has any definitive spoilers in it but i'll put it all under a cut for safety

short answer: it's ok. frostpaw's plot & the stuff with riverclan, riverstar & the COTP, splashtail & curlfeather are all REALLY COOL. I liked sunbeam in the beginning and have grown to dislike where her story has gone. I like the concepts surrounding nightheart's plot but dislike the execution & the reaction from the community. I am still excited for star. long answer:

frostpaw and splashtail's plot is really really good and ive been enjoying it a lot (probably because it reminds me of tpb). i liked sunbeam's plot with blazefire and lightleap and berryheart in the beginning but have gotten bored of her & her plot since nightheart showed up in her life & she moved to thunderclan. nightheart's plot has good concepts behind it but i don't like the execution & i don't like the 2 cross clan relationship plot in a row. i think it could've been better if they focused less on cross clan relationships and more on clan prejudice & xenophobia & the corruptness of the code system as a whole (though i know it's incredibly unlikely the writers would do that i still want To Hope) instead of just the romance part since we did that last arc (though i don't think it really got us anywhere as i personally dislike the 'trials' thing that was developed & don't think it's particularly useful). especially because it was specifically a cross CLAN relationship in a row. i'd be a bit more lenient if it was a clancat x kittypet/loner relationship as that hasn't been done in a bit (like if nightheart fell in love with a COTP cat or something).

i like the pacing per-book but i think the pacing overall could be improved upon as it feels both sunbeam and nightheart's plots have been too separate from & slow compared to frostpaw's plot and haven't really been meshing well in the later books as the erins try to tie them all together. i also don't know if this is just my bad memory but i dislike the change of sunbeam and nightheart's personalities over time. they both feel like they are becoming cardboard cut out main characters to me. i liked sunbeam's relationship with lightleap blazefire & her family and thought it all was really realistic and especially in the lightleap/blazefire department was a surprising change of pace. i dislike what has become of both her plot and her personality as i feel they totally abandoned the lightleap/blazefire plot and turned her into a flat love interest. i do think it makes sense for her as a character to yearn for love but i think it'd make even MORE sense if she had a much more complicated relationship with love

i'm not going to speak further on nightheart because i know no matter what i say someone WILL be telling me to kill myself in one way or another so i'll keep in brief: no matter what you think of him, you at Need To Acknowledge & Be Conscious Of The Fact That Very Bad Things Have Been Said About & To Both Women And Disabled People Because Of His Plot In This Community. yes some very good & well-thought out conversations have been said in response, yes the majority of these things were said months and months ago when asc first was starting, But That Does Not Mean You Can Ignore That They Happened. If you want the community you are apart of to not be perceived as jackasses you cannot Ignore The Hatred Towards Women And Disabled People That Festers Inside Of It. you don't need to write a 9000 page essay about it, that's not what i'm asking, you just need to be CONCIOUS of it okay that's it. also while thinking about this i thought of how i'd rewrite sunbeam and the third pov (which i'd give to sparkpelt) so if anyone wants to hear about that send me an ask i'll make another 4 paragraph post about it

Hey, saw your Prsk Unit Shuffle AU and am very interested in seeing more.

In particular, I'm interested in hearing more about how the groups formed. It's always neat to see how these characters first meet and interact under different circumstances. And, as a little bonus, maybe what their "Untitled"/theme song is, because I feel like that's a very key part of a unit's identity that tends to be overlooked.

(Not sure if you're still interested in asks about this AU. If not, sorry for bugging you about it)

GASP HELLO I LOVE TALKING ABOUT MY UNIT SHUFFLE AU im so sorry this too forever to get u back on!! schoolwork is a pain and then i went SHOPPING (which takes forever :sob:)

okok so i haven't really thought about all the details of how they get together? so bear with me this is a rough draft lol

SSS: the idea at the core of this group is that its a family with different strengths coming together to make music. so tsukasa is the scriptwriter, saki is the lyricist, toya is the choreographer, and kanade is the composer! the group is headed by tsukasa, who's actually been putting on these shows for all of them since he was a kid. as he got older, he started taking stardom more seriously (leading into canon), but an incident in middle school ended up with the tenmas legally adopting toya, so that definitely shook things up for tsukasa (in a good way!). so i think that (+ l/n not reforming, which does happen in the SSS main story) allowed tsukasa and saki to consider banding their strengths together, since tsukasa loved putting on shows and saki loved seeing them, but she would also help put them on for toya (and later kanade, when she joins them not long after toya does). the two of them very quickly realize that they need more hands, and although recruiting kanade as composer is easy (bc 25ji never forms- dont ask why im still figuring that out lol) toya is a lot harder bc he's still active under BAD DOGS with akito. however, with akito picking up AWR around the same time (+ hatsune freaking miku appearing to toya), toya does join under their choreographer as for their untitled, their song is Wonderland and the Sheep's Song by Hachi, but I worked out their line distributions to this lovely KYO cover! you can see my color-coded lyrics for them here if you're interested :)

R/l: im gonna be 100% honest with you SSS and AWR are the only ones with any semblance of a plot rn LOL but here's the base idea around R/l: mizuki and rui both congregate on the kami school rooftop bc, yknow, loners (mizuki is never reached out to by kanamafu, so not 25ji on their part. tsukasa doesnt end up applying for phoenix so wxs doesn't have a chance of forming). at some point, i imagine they got talking about music, but never did anything concrete. but not long into the main story (probably the very start) an also joins them, her dream of surpassing rad weekend getting weaker as she struggles to find a partner (koha will be explained later) so she goes to hang with her friend on the rooftop. at some point, mizu and an both accidentally enter sekai, where they meet miku and len. those two tell them that there's still two others they need to find because they also made the sekai. mizu and an get.... maybe a little too excited over this. an takes this chance to invite her friend haruka over to kami (so she transfers) and join the group, but in their search for their fourth member they end up accidentally alienating rui (ironic). they fix that tho-- although HOW i dont know lol their untitled was one i went back and forth on (tbh only SSS and AWR i didnt lol), but i eventually decided on Untitled Hymn by shaito! their color-coded lyrics are here (i just realized you can barely tell where an is in lines but ehhh)

ATD: okay so. ATD is the group thats given the most gosh-darn trouble. ive revised their cast motivations like, TWICE now. but basically it goes like this: shizuku and mafuyu are both members of the archery club, with mafuyu trusting shizuku so much that her public mask slips a couple of times (against her will). shizuku's not dumb, but she doesn't say anything bc i think she understands that mafu has her secrets. after shizuku quits being an idol (on more of her own terms), she still wants to find a way to share the light she had before that seemed to reach mafu a few times. enter: accidental sekai trip! this trip both gives shizu the idea for an online group (which could sorta count as MMJ but i think the big distinction is they do more streamer/vtuber stuff and less purely idol stuff?? im still working on that) and lets her see mafu with her mask fully off. eventually, shizu drags nene into the business (nene never attends kami here, workin on that) bc shizu and mafu have no idea how streaming works and nene does, but nene likes hiding behind the camera but is still a part of the group bc who can say no to shizu? and hona joins at shizu's request bc they're both beautification members (and apparently hona+mafu are both honors students so i wonder if they have some overlap?? can you tell ive never attended public school lol) their untitled gave me SO MUCH TROUBLE. because ATD is supposed to be a weird mix of 25ji and mmj? but all of their songs get swiped by either R/l, AWR, or even SSS, so it was hard to find something that i thought could be specifically them. eventually, i finally decided on Common World Domination by PinocchioP! Their color-coded lyrics can be found here :)

MxC: oh boy this one's a doozy. so the idea here is like... there are underground music rings? which sounds wild but like if music is vaguely the lifeblood of this world i DONT CARE it can happen! i don't wanna make it life-threatening tho so its more like... you get blacklisted from everything. which for shiho--who got sucked into this world in an attempt to find bandmates--is VERY BAD. but shiho's given a little bit to find a band before their first performance, but with l/n definitely gone their separate ways (and she never wanted to involve them in the first place) she's kinda stuck. enter: airi and ena! both of them had been watching the music battles, unsatisfied with their current lives (airi having just quit idol/tv work, ena just frustrated over her art), but airi knows shiho thru miya, and when she heard about shiho's impending doom, she resolved herself to very quickly learn guitar and join her group, roping ena (who has a little bit of drum experience from akito and mom) into it as well. meanwhile, while all of this is going on, kohane (being the sweet soul she is) has been trailing shiho out of concern, but then is entirely horrified at the underground battles bc shes still pre-canon meek. but she really wants to help shiho, so she agrees to try and learn keyboard. after clearing the first battle, shiho and her group are safe--for now. they'll have to clear a lot more battles if they want to escape the underground their untitled is Hello Builder by UtsuP since i wanted them to have harsher rock songs than l/n (bordering on metal-ish)! color-coded lyrics here :)

AWR: funny story--all of the above units were made in the order listed! so i got to AWR and... i have ichika, minori, emu, and akito. and im like "NONE OF THESE PEOPLE HAVE ANYTHING IN COMMON". and then i went. "WAIT. THATS IT!" so here's how AWR goes: ichika still tries to reform l/n, but fails; minori is still trying to become an idol; and emu is still trying to revive the wonder stage. all three of them, all attending miya ofc, end up bonding over this and they start thinking. is there a way to satisfy all three of their dreams (band, idol, and show) at once? and at FIRST the answer is "no lol" so they go exploring. and somehow someway (workin on that) word finds out about this and some guy on vivid street dares akito to try and fix em into shape in a week. akito--being akito--accepts quite hotheadedly, then quickly realizes that maybe this wasnt a good idea?? because EVERYONE has a different music taste and its almost impossible to keep up with them all!!! but eventually they do figure it all out, and by the end none of them wanted to split apart or anything. AWR is i think the group that has the least amount of direction which might be on purpose. i think (again im rambling rn so) part of their story is figuring out what their direction is going to be! their untitled is Lip Sync by DECO*27, written as a part of holo*27 (hi no im not rlly into vtubers i just like their music) but i count it bc its written by a voca producer and this would not be the first time a non-vocaloid sung a unit song (cough cough mafumafu and tuyu). you CAN find my color-coded lyrics here.... but i did the translations. which means they're pretty much 98% google translated then bonked around to make sense. i dont know japanese please dont sue me

Janine Had to have been the person to find Egon's body...

So I am not a superfan but I have been a fan of Ghostbusters for a very long time. Anyway, I have watched the first two movies so many times and I would race home after school to watch The Real Ghostbusters on TV. (partialy because I had a crush on Egon Spengler. Janine would honestly be like "Same gurl, same")

I have been re watching Ghostbusters Afterlife and something struck me but also kinda made me sad. Yes, seeing ghost Egon (Harold Ramis) and the og Ghostbusters together again made me cry like a baby but no, that wasn't what dampened my emotions.

In the scene where Cali and the kids meet Janine, She tells them She was the one to contact Them about Egon's death. She also goes on to say they were... Friends. There was a pause in that statement (this is important). Janine also states there was no money and that she had been there making sure Egon's bills were paid and take care of small things (also an important to my theory.)

I want to go back, to some cut scenes in Ghostbuster 1984, soft cannon as well as some non canonical but equaly important to character development moments in other GB media. Egon didn't sleep that much, (Apparently he could live on 14 Minutes,) and in a cut scene of GB1984 he is seen sleeping at his microscope (Janine found him there.) In the Extreem Ghostbuster cartoon, Egon didn't realy take care of himself too much (Janine had to get him to eat healthy) I'm fairly certian that when Egon is in a state of Hyperfocus, (Bc he is an autistic coded charachter, but that's a conversation for another thread) he forgets/neglects everything else. This is where Janine comes in.

I postulate that Janine still had feelings him. Hell they may have had feelings for each other but never labled it hence the pause she made when saying they were ...Friends. Janine obviously didn't live with Egon but had to have lived somewhere close because flying back and forth IN THIS ECONOMY, would have been expensive and Egon had no money. Maybe she received money from Winston but it didn't seem that way. Out of all the Crew she was the only one checking in on Egon regularly. Honestly I feel like this was a labor of love especially because he was already going over the deep end into the Gozer, end of the wold thing.

Janine was the only one of the crew who knew about Egon's secret love child, which means he shared personal information with her. I not so sure he shared his giant trap plans with her though. Egon had been living there for years. YEARS! And in all that time Janine was the only one coming to see him, taking care of his affairs/business (probably taking care of him.) Either they were super close friends or lovers. I'm leaning toward lovers. That's a lot to do for just a ... Friend.

In GB Afterlife, Phoebe mentions to Ray that Egon had only been dead for like a week. The movie takes place a week after Egons death. The town's folk said Dirt Farmer was a loner. Podcast eludes to no one ever going up to the house. This means the only person to have possibly found Egon was Janine.

Janine found Egon's limp body in the chair where he died. This is probably how she was able to contact Cali so fast. It would have taken a couple of days to pack up their life and move to Egons farmhouse...

Janine, who was most likely still in love with Egon, The only person checking in on him, making sure he ate and slept, the person handling his bills, probably making sure he cleaned up after himself, goes to his house to check on him only to find him dead. The coin she's holding in the after credit scene isn't the second coin she had (from GB 1984) but the coin she gave him for good luck because she thought he might die in the original Gozer attack. She was correct but it wasn;t the original Gozer attack that killed Egon. It was the final attack. This realization killed me inside.

Anyway what do you think? Am I overthinking this? Sorry for the long post.

I am sorry but Keith and Pidge would and should not get along, and their similar situations and similar loner personalities are EXACTLY why they will not get along. I am sorry but sometimes the only reason someone has friends is because the people they befriended are exact opposite or atleast different enough from them, and if some mf who are ttoo similar to them shows up it would be full on bar fight. If you put them in a room alone for too long with no buffers, they will either just ignore each other, or Pidge's unapologetic Foot-in-Mouth disease and Keith's tendency to take everything personally and about himself will lead to a brawl. Like the only way they'll get along is if they have a common enemy otherwise they will not

This is coming from a woc who likes race bending and race hcs (Desi!Jon is very real to me) but the way a lot of fandoms especially white american fans go about it is just fuck awful. Like most of the time it is done purely for aesthetic purposes, the race hc is based entirely on stereotypes and used as a costume and more often than not the canonical characters of colour are ignored and when poc fans try to talk about how the media and the fandom treats its white characters vs characters of colour they are immediately shut down with a "We are not racist we hc the white character as poc/the (insert very white coded character who was favoured by the white writers who treated their cocs as shit) is clearly poc!". I am not asking people to stop making them, like i said i do enjoy them but people do need to be a bit more sensitive for races and cultures that they are not part of.

The Good Place is a cosmic horror. I do not CARE what its rating is tgp is a cosmic horror, and i will forever be chasing after that dread i felt at the reveal in season 1 finale. No arg, no spooky stories, no horror webtoon has ever come close to that ending. It made me asses my life and truly wonder what will happen after death, and wonder if there is free will under destiny. It was good shit!

I feel overly annoying and confident so I decided to make you an analysis on why Eight by Sleeping at Last would make a beautiful hw song. My first day of class • spring semester • senior year • computer science

- i originally wanted to get 8 hours of sleep but I ended up with 5 hours which I am okay with. I am getting there.

- I woke up at 7:15. I hit snooze maybe like once or twice I don’t remember. But I’m proud of myself because it takes me forever to leave my bed because I like to just lay there and throw myself into the void and then rush and panic when I realize how late I am to something. But this time I woke up in the sweet spot where there were no harsh repercussions (only thing was I didn’t get time to brush my hair). Even though it felt like I was doing mental gymnastics at getting up I liked seeing the positive consequences. And it is a good re-enforcement to do it again

First class:

- I was 3 minutes early to my first class and my lab partner from last semester moved her seat to sit next to me which was a nice warm feeling

- I was interactive with the professor and answered questions in the first class

- I unconsciously zoned out during the lecture and when I zoned back in I wanted to go into a shame spiral but once I sensed my body sensations I stopped myself and focused back in during the lecture

- I also had the urge to crumble my notes and get angry inwards towards myself cuz my notes were ugly and I had tons of scribbles and wanted to rewrite my notes in a prettier way but I recalled that I did that in the past for decades and it only lead to exhaustion and wasting my time. I also reminded myself that my notes are good enough and I had fairly understood the lecture. There’s no need for me to write detailed notes cuz it’s a computer science course and not a note-heavy course like biology or English. Comp sci Notes are meant to serve as guides

- I zoned off again and unconsciously began clicking on the keyboard and clicked the blackboard link for my next class while in my first class: saw that we had to work in groups of 5 for class #2 and caught myself about to panic so I stopped myself and told myself that if I panic I’ll end up fully missing out on class #1’s lecture and that class #2 hasn’t even arrived yet. I am draining my mental juice. I’ll save my breakdown for later when it’s time to go to that class. So I zoned back again and paid attention.

- class #1 was a success

Second class:

- the class I was dreading. We have to work in a group of 5 and make a functional app using front end and back end languages and some other techy shit. First of all I’m scared to talk to people whom I don’t know and I was scared that I’ll end up with no group. But I actually had people come up to me and ask me to in their group. They look pretty promising too. I had one person purposely sit next to me and we talked and laughed. I was surprised that people actually wanted to talk to me and have me work with them. One thing I noticed with courses as you get higher and higher in your major that you start to build a reputation. It makes sense why I had no one to talk to and felt like a loner during my lower level and gen Ed classes cuz I had no existing friends in my courses and people don’t talk to you if they don’t know you.

- so we had our groups and every thing feels in place so I decided not to burden myself by overthinking about the semester project so I’m letting myself be in the present

After:

- after my morning classes ended up I had a long gap so I wanted to rush to studying ahead and code but I’m going to let myself hang out in the campus and finish reading a book and text and meet up with school friends as I am waiting for my next class

- it was a pretty chill day. My emotions felt at bay most of the times and if they weren’t then I was able to easily get them to be at bay without exerting more energy. My semester coursework is (subjectively) chill and it might be the most chillest semester ever cuz I am chill and my focusing levels are chill LOL

Do you think SkyClan would continue inviting Daylight Warriors into their clan by the lake? Younge warriors and a few elders would say things like “We have a full clan now, we don’t need them.” Meanwhile Leafstar (it’s been a while since I read any book with her in it, so forgive me if I don’t get her personality was like) would respond “It’s not about having a full clan, it’s about tradition.” If I remember the map correctly, there should be A twolegplace near SkyClan, so they could meet with the Daylight Warriors there.

The other clans would be confused, as no one had there had seen SkyClan at the Gorge to know their history with Daylight Warriors.

Kits from other clans would hear Senior warriors complain, and they would be like “Why can’t we have Daylight Warriors” and everyone in the camp responds with “It’s against the warrior code!” All at once

Sorry if this feels too rambly/off, I love your stuff and wanted to contribute something /gen

I like to think Leafstar does but she just…doesn’t tell the other clans, she’s too annoyed at them so she just keeps it going and if anyone’s like “what kinda name is Cadillacpaw” they all go off about this skyclan legend about the great loner Cadillac who helped them in time of need. All the other clans are so goddamn confused but the daylight warriors also think it’s funny so they completely play into that Yes I am completely clan born yes my name of vulpixfoot makes complete and utter sense you see that’s the name of a great terrible beast that once lived in the gorge long before us, why do I have a collar? What do you guys not have TWOLEG PLACE SPIES? No wonder you keep getting surprised by kittypets!

Skyclan finally unifies about and appreciates daylight warriors now that they can use them to annoy and confuse the hell out of other clans.

One D&D aka D&D 5.5: Expert Classes (Rogue and others)

I lowkey ignored these new developments, but now I’m plunging in. Latest Unearthed Arcana is out (PDF here) and it’s about Rogues, let’s go!

Changes to the Rogue Class

Weapon proficiencies: From simple weapons, hand crossbows, longswords, rapiers and shortswords in 5e, we get simple weapons, and martial weapons with the finesse property. So we lose longswords which were already not useful for sneak attack, and we get scimitar AND WHIP. Whip has reach! And I mean. Kinky. Wait, did we lose hand crossbows? Am I missing something? That’s a weapon FOR rogues, innit? I wonder if they’re saving it for Assassins only.

Sneak attack: Can only use it once per round (not per turn) with an attack action, so not as a reaction. Aw, that’s a straight nerf. To be fair, setting up a sneak attack reaction was a hassle, required you to stay smack dab in the middle of melee (for squishy rogues, this is The Bad Place), and ate your Uncanny Dodge reaction. So maybe it’s okay.

Thieves’ Cant: You get an extra language in addition to Thieves’ Cant, which can be Standard or Rare. That’s cool.

Evasion: Now at lvl 9, 2 levels later than before. Hmm, I think that’s a bit too late for “iconic class ability”, but it’s true Rogues have a lot of those, and you gotta spread them out somehow. Maybe bring back the older gradual version, of Evasion (only works if you succeed on the save) early and Improved Evasion (the full effect) later?

Subtle Strikes: That’s new. I like it. Despite being often described (and played!) as the loners who scout ahead solo, Rogues have always performed better with allies to distract their enemies. Ganging up on targets is a time-honoured tradition. Replaces Blindsight.

Slippery Mind: Now applies to Charisma too, not just Wisdom. Also cool.

Level 20 Capstone, Epic Boon of Undectability (or another epic boon feat): Well. It’s debatable if that’s sufficiently awesome for level 20, but I really dig the idea of a Rogue who hides and just... can’t be detected. Fuck your magic. And I think it should explicitly ignore blindsight and tremorsense and such, otherwise meh, by that point your Stealth (assuming Expertise and 20 DEX) is 27 minimum.

Changes to the Thief subclass

First of all, all subclasses now get abilities at the same levels: 3rd, 6th, 10th, 14th. For us that’s earlier, neater, and a definite improvement. These came too late in 5e, and sometimes it felt like your subclass didn’t even matter, other than the big boost at 3rd.

Fast Hands: Nerfed, can’t Use an Object as a bonus action any more. That’s bad, I think thieves should have fast hands for any and all purposes. Combat can become way more creative, and situations like “we’re on a vehicle that’s out of control, or a dungeon room filled with levers” way more interesting. That’s when you need a rogue with fast hands. Boo. Now you can only use this ability to pick locks, pick pockets, disarm traps, or Search. But something’s wrong with the Search action.

My first reaction was WISDOM? oh no! But wait a minute. That’s not investigation, that’s not looking for traps or rifling for clues or deciphering codes (these are apparently another type of action, INT-based, called Study). Then why on earth would a Thief get Search and not Study as a bonus action? That makes little sense, and also goes against the Thief archetype stereotype: hot mess, incorrigible fuckup, gets easily distracted, most of all by shinies, inadvisably dumped wisdom. (Am I projecting? OF COURSE I’m projecting.)

Second-Story Work: You get an actual Climb speed equal to your speed (okay), and can Jump with a dexterity instead of a strength check. Trouble is, Jump is an Action, and Cunning Action doesn’t apply. Boo. Still underwhelming ability, doesn’t do what it says on the tin. And mate, look, it’s real simple. Thieves will never be top damage dealers or damage takers, and they got no spells. To compensate, you have to make them incredibly cool, and fast and mobile.

Supreme Sneak: the advantage to Stealth checks applies if you wear Light armor or none. Previously you had to move up to half your speed, so that’s a big improvement. If you play tactical combat on a grid and not vague theatre of the mind, mobility is HUGE for rogues.

Use Magic Device: That’s changed quite a lot (previously it was just ignore attunement requirements). The scrolls thing seems interesting, but without spending a whole feat to gain proficiency in Arcana, it’s just an Intelligence check, i.e. exactly what happens when anyone tries to use a scroll not on their spell list. If no other rules change, it’s bad: it only lets you use 1st lvl spells or cantrips at level 10. The other two abilities depend entirely on how many and what kind of magic items your DM gives you. Having 4 good attuned items is amazing.

Thief’s Reflexes: It’s now 14th lvl instead of 18th, and instead of an extra turn on the first round of combat, you get a second Bonus Action (from Cunning Action only) [Proficiency] times per Long Rest. You know, unless you get into a ton of combats per day, this is arguably better.

Changes to other relevant rules

Duel Wielder / Light weapons: Good news for two-weapon fighters: off-hand attacks don’t take a bonus action any more, you just need 2 Light weapons OR one Light, one non-Two-Handed, and the feat Dual Wielder. Also, since normally “you can equip or unequip one Weapon before or after any attack you make as part of [the Attack] Action”, you can effectively fight with two weapons and still have a hand free before and after to manipulate things, AND your bonus action free for Cunning Action. Very good for Rogues.

Skulker: Useful.

Blindsight: Um. Does “effectively see” mean you can target them with a spell, or attack without disadvantage etc? Or does it just mean you know where they are? That could use a clarification. 5e didn’t have any either.

Hide: For the most part, this is unusually clear and well-defined (5e hiding was neither). The minimum DC 15 even if your enemies crit-fail is an unnecessary nerf, I think, but that’s okay. BUT. I swear no one’s ever managed to figure out the CLASSIC Rogue move “emerge from hiding place and sneak attack opponent” – i.e. attack with the benefits of being hidden; you should only hit once before they register you’re there, but that hit will hurt. Reading this, it looks like if I’m hidden like 5 ft away from my target and emerge from Cover, I’m in melee range but my Hidden condition ended BEFORE I get the chance to make my attack roll. Because now I’m not behind any Cover! So I can only pull it off with ranged weapons OR if I’m hidden and exactly adjacent to the target. I am not pleased.

Y’all. Decide if you want to give this to sneak attackers only or to anyone who hides successfully, give a reasonable distance limit (if I have to run 30 ft from cover to melee range, I’ll probably get made and will surprise exactly no one), say 10 ft, and LET ME DO THIS. Lemme dash out of the darkness or from behind a piece of furniture and stab people in the kidney, that’s the class.

Tools: This is really cool, I’m a skillmonkey, I dig tools, love it.

Unarmed Strike: I AM ONCE AGAIN ASKING WotC TO LET ME KNOCK PEOPLE DOWN USING DEXTERITY. Good god people, haven’t you EVER tripped anyone irl? If you aim at the right spot at the right time, you don’t need any strength at all, you use their own weight and momentum to make them lose balance. Also, can I at least AIM a fist or a kick using dexterity? Never mind damage, just to hit? Is that so unfathomable? And can Unarmed Strike please be considered a finesse weapon, to support brawling Rogues? “Brawler fighting dirty” is a Type of Guy D&D needs. (Also needs ninjas, obviously, but we’ll see what they’ll do with the Monk and/or other Rogue subclasses about that.)

P.S. Also, may I express my profound relief that they rolled back that HUGE nerf in critical hits. They had made it “add an extra weapon damage die” instead of double all damage dice, to the woe and chagrin of martials everywhere and especially rogues and paladins. I mean come on, the sheer JOY of critting on a sneak attack should not be taken away! And it wasn’t, they rolled it back, phew.
