its honestly fascinating how much hannibal just doesnt work for me. as a freak who loves doomed toxic yaoi/yuri and horror and gore and cannibalism i should logically go crazy for it but i just feel nothing. i just dont like hannibal hes not fuckable to me and soo annoying not even in a way where hes silly i just dont like him i want to push him over…he served foie gras and i could never support someone who does that. i love the concept and the beautifully grotesque over the top silly gore and i will always like an unloved wet blanket of a guy with too many dogs but my hatred for hannibal the guy burns so strong i cant watch the show. ive tried so many times but i can never get past the point where hannibal killed the guy who uses a whip to fight like. thats so cool. thats a whip. holy shit. he should fuck will graham instead of the foie gras muncher i think. justice for whip guy

an angle i enjoy in cosmic/eldritch horror is when, instead resorting to the old classic "the horrors being so incomprehensible that they break your brain and drive you mad" cliché, the premise is that in comprehending the horrors you are so changed by the experience that your new state is indistinguishable to an outside observer from madness. you comprehend the unknowable just fine, but actually communicating that to anyone else is impossible because they just don't have the mental framework required to understand it. the eldritch horrors don't drive you mad. what does is the ordinary everyday horror of finding yourself isolated, ridiculed and doubted at every turn, no matter how hard you try to make yourself heard and understood.
