#totk spoilers#literally all spoilers below dont read this if you dont want spoilers#hit the credits for totk and the first thing i said was I miss ganondorf#overall it was a brilliant game and i loved it so so much and its leagues better than botw and oughh#i have issue with the plot....mostly the Imperialism Good roite that it took#was kind of hoping for something different i suppose but that is on me mostly#look we all wanted ganondorf to either be out buddy of have the nuance of ww ganondorf#he was fucking superb in this game Do Not get me wrong but man. ilour first ganondorf since tp and i just wanted more for him 🫠#when imposter zelda was going around hyrule i genuinely thought maybe they were gonna go with an evil zelda plot#imagine how cool that would have been....i got played#rauru being evil or at least morally grey and controlling zelda and ganondorf being Right and also my friend would ahve been so good :(#but anyway!!!!! i really liked a lot of other things about the plot!!! dragon zelda was devestatingly good#the fact that we had a Find Zelda quest and yet she was one of the first things we see on the sky island at the start of the game#áaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (dats me yellin)#superb and traumatic#i really like botw/totk zelda actually and she was very good in this game and the haters can eat my nuts 😊#the boss fights were great#colgera being my fave and the ganondorf fight was so good and tense and eeeeee#the end phase against dragon ganon with zelda was really fun!!!!!! even if ridiculously easy i wish it wasnt just dark beast ganon 2.0#anyway my final verdict is banger game but ganondorf deserves better and also dlc when

seeing all the crazy stuff people build in totk kinda ... it feels like that is also a factor in why it turned out like this, like the insane things people did in botw and the (i keep saying devs when i actually mean the directors .. producers?) directors saw it and build totk just around letting people do it all 100 times more
to be clear, i think its impressive as hell what some people build (i just saw like .. a movie scene with a functioning mech gozilla and tanks made with totks building stuff ... what the fuck) and those things go pretty viral (understandibly so) but i also gotta question
as creative, free, and impressive as it is ... should that have been the focus in a zelda game? like .. is building mechas and tanks like that something that should be in a zelda game? can it be in there without inevitably sacrificing so much else? theres building games just for that? and if you want to make it zelda themed you can make it a spin off?
like i get it, people did crazy things in botw, they saw what people had fun with and dialed it up to a 1000 in totk, which in itself is not bad, even pretty good if you consider gamedevs and feeback and all that bc in general you should embrace what people had fun with in your game even if it wasnt the intent, given that nintendy listens to feedback (perhaps even a bit too much at times) and creative solutions was a central point to botw design philosophy but
i feel like totk kinda .. missed the balance?
if its really a reason why totk is build around enabling that in a purely player centered toy box kind of way without it actually mattering in the story .. or even themes ... was it worth it? not to sound like an oldschool boomer tm but in a franchise that iconic, lore and story focused, should you really abandon nigh all lore/story cohesion just to give the player a big box of toys in a world where i feel that doesnt ,, really belong? in a direct sequel in the same world with the same characters no less? that point is perhaps the biggest issue with it, bc again lots of games even if somwhat a sequel, had strange new tech or things in the world but in all of those cases it was some alternative universe, millenia after the other game, or on an entire different continent; while totk is supposedly just a few years after botw in the very same hyrule
(still doesnt explain the erasing of all shiekah things and replacing it with sonau- tho suddendly revealing the shiekah had actual rockets, wheels with suspension and grenade-launchers, might have been confusing too- you could have enabled the player creativity with shiekah too imo, and personally i would have found it way more fun ... lil guardian leg crawlies ..)
having thought about it feels rather logical why they did it in alot of ways, but also ... totk is build around it, while its also not build around it at all- its build around the PLAYER, not the world, not the story, not the theme, not the character, but YOU (especialyl those that dont realyl care about anythign story or lore stuff and just want to have fun with the gameplay loop, which isnt wrong, but i question whether thats the right kind if player to center in a zelda game .... also not saying all of those that build these crazy things are like that but- ... i hope you know what i mean)
(i know games are always build around the player, or should be, but .. do you get what i mean????? playing in a world that doesnt make sense anymore bc its all a box of toys yeeted into my face isnt fun to me, bc im here not only for gameplay fun but for the world .. theme .. characters, its something that has to be harmonical as a whole for me and totk just .. isnt)
i say it alot but i do really mean it, its very difficult to get my thoughts and feelings written out and to have them come across correctly

Building on my prior post what does a role-reversed totk mean for Linked universe.
I have seen plenty of fics about Wild leaving the chain for his new adventure but imagine wild leaving the group and immediately getting tested back in time.
Imagine Wild once again I a new world where he doesn’t know anyone trying to navigate it. He’s trying to figure out where he is in the time line. If any of his brothers are here. You can have a lot of fun with where Rauru’s kingdom falls in the time line.
But it ends with wild swallowing the stone and becoming an immortal dragon clutching the broken Master sword to his chest.
Maybe he passes his 10,000 years watching over hyrule and seeing his brother eras come to pass.
Back with the chain.
The brothers are missing Wild. Maybe it’s right after he left, it’s still a raw wound. Right as they are trying to wrap their heads around the fact that they are now one link short they hear a roar. They jerk their heads around looking for the mister that’s attacking them only to see that in the sky is a giant dragon. Legend probably makes a snarky comment about not wanting to fight that thing. But the dragon just calmly flies over head of them.
As they continue their quest they will always spot the dragon in every new era they travel to. They can’t figure out why. All the people that they run into can’t see the dragon so why can they. Is it a part of the quest?
Meanwhile in Totk;
Zelda(flora) finally realizes what happened to Wild. She’s heartbroken for her knight as she watches him fly around the sky.
She’s also at a loss of what to do. How do you beat Ganondorf without the Master Sword. She knows that it rest with the Dragon!Wild but she can’t pull it. The blade won’t respond to her. She needs a hero, but hers is up in the sky.
Luckily Hylia drops off 8 hero’s fro her to pick from.
The chain arrives in Wild world. Originally they are confused on where they are. The world looks so different with the sky islands but Twilight would recognize Wilds world anywhere. Even with all the new monsters and that strange dragon flying around.
The group is hopeful. Maybe Wild has finished his second quest and can now join them again.
But it doesn’t take long for Sky to realize that the Master Sword is missing. They come to the conclusion that Fi merged with the current master sword which must be in Wild possession.
It takes them a little while before they see the castle. The currently floating castles with gloom spilling out from below it. It’s then that they realize that Wild hasn’t finished his quest.
Wind suggests that they are there to help Wild. That he’s probable waiting for them. Time, Legend and Warriors are less hopeful. Why would the goddess separate them from Wild in the first place if she was going to let them help in his quest later on.
They chain make their way towards the castle and make it to Lookout Landing, where they run into Flora.
One long explanation later the chain is destroyed.
Legend is furious with the goddess for letting this happen
Wind, Four, and Hyrule can’t wrap their heads around the fact that Wild is gone.
Sky hasn’t been totally with the story since finding out that Fi was destroyed.
Warrior is heart broken but trying to come up with a plan. The war prepared him to keep moving.
Time is devastated. A cross between Legend rage and Warriors need to keep the group moving.
And Twilight. Twilight can’t handle it. How can his cub be gone? How had this happened? How had he lost someone else? No this can’t be he has to get to Wild. He’s all alone up there. Why is he all alone up there.
This leads to Twilight wanting to get to Wild as quickly as possible. Maybe he goes up with Sky as he wants to check on Wild and Fi, but also because he has the most experience in the sky. Or maybe they all go up, borrowing paraglides from Flora and Purah. But either way they get up there and they find the Master Sword.
Now question of the day. Who gets to pull the sword from Wild’s skull?

Random LU Headcannons :3
Sky has lightning strike scars across his chest and back from fighting Demise. He never mentioned them before though, so they caused a lot of excitement and questioning from the rest of the Chain when they first saw them (I might draw it sometime, but the scars are a little tricky. Look it up if you don't know what they look like, I think they're really cool).
Wild dyes his hair temporarily from time to time. He never uses any permanent dye, as he doesn't want to commit himself to one color at a time when their are so many cool colors out their. Sayge (the dye shop guy in BotW and TotK) taught him how to make temporary hair dyes out of natural ingredients common throughout Hyrule. This HC was inspired by the fact that you can dye Link's hair in TotK if you dye one of the dragon headpieces.
Legend secretly loves to dress up in fancy clothes. He also has a lot of strong opinions about the rest of the Chain's fashion but keeps these to himself, as he is sure he will be made fun of for it. The only one who knows his secret is Wild, and they like to get together and, well, play dress-up.
Hyrule generally doesn't like to be touched unless the person is someone he trusts completely (that being only really Legend and Sky, former because they share similar experiences, and the latter because Sky could make anyone feel safe when he's near). Other than that, he prefers no one touch him because it will cause him to panic. Too many times he was almost captured by Ganon's forces and the past still makes him jumpy. The others respect this boundary.
Four is good at making friends and talking to people. He's good at getting people to trust him and enjoys small talk with random strangers. Somehow, he always finds a way to connect with them. He genuinely cares about the people he meets. He's very wary of cats, though (and baby chicks).
Twilight and Legend formed an unspoken bond when they first met, though neither of them realized it. Less of a brotherly bond and more of a "I recognize that you've been through some of the same stuff I have and see you as an equal" kind of bond. Both will deny this though, not feeling worthy enough to compare themselves to the other hero.
That's all I have for right now, I might share some more later on (Correction, I will share some more later on). Hope you like it :>

Okay @chaos-vulpix asked me for Simon & 141 encountering Koroks thoughts and so here is my little ramble
Was discussing this with some others too, so also some brainstorm credit / idea credit is owed to Govan, Kells and Goblin!! xD I'm not sure if you guys have tumblrs but I appreciate you all in also indulging in this fun silly idea with me. XD
So this is all inspired by this recent art I did of Simon with a korok lol.
I think he'd hate these little fuckers. They are small and supposed to be cute, and he is confused. Simon would encounter it and be like what the actual fuck is this thing and call Johnny for backup. Johnny thinks they're cute, and tries to convince his LT they are harmless but Ghost doesn't trust them. "These fuckers aren't in the field manual Johnny".
We also joked that Ghost, not knowing what the hell these koroks are at first, would just unload a whole mag in one but little does he know they're immune to bullets and tank the whole mag and are just like YA HA HA 😭😭😂
But maybe Ghost is actually a korok magnet lol. These little fuckers like him for some reason, against his will, and follow him everywhere. They are like lost puppies who follow Ghost around and show up when he least expects it. Disney princess Ghost with koroks. He hates it and wants them to leave him alone. One grabs his leg to give him a hug and he trips and injures himself trying to fucking kick it off and Soap just stands there laughing his ass off at him xD Simon is having a day.
I think Price would be confused by these little guys too and would tell Simon to get rid of them and Simon, exhausted, eye twitching, "I CAN'T!!" One would definitely spook the shit out of Gaz too, Gaz doesn't know what to think of the little guys xD
The koroks also leave little seeds and berries out for Ghost to find and he is so annoyed. He also thinks he has gotten rid of them all at some point only to make up in the middle of the night with one staring at him and he literally screams and it wakes up Soap.
Soap likes the little koroks but they just don't give him as much attention as they do Ghost. But he is very amused by his LT's frustration with these little beings and gets a ton of joy out of it 🤣
I have a few more drawing ideas from this too haha like Simon being cornered and scared by a bunch of koroks. Him walking and just a line of them following behind him. Soap holding a korok going "they're not so bad, LT!". Price smoking a cigar and having an intense stare down with a korok. A korok with a bunch of bullet holes 😭 just going YA HA HA and Simon having a mental breakdown.
And the thing that inspired all this was this fic I wrote that's an AU if Simon left the military to raise his young nephew Joseph, and Soap Is visiting them when he is sent on medical leave. Soap gets really into playing Zelda and when he's away Simon takes the controller to try out the game, he goes on a whole tirade of why he hates koroks xD I had totally forgotten i'd written all that and so it also inspired that artwork I linked earlier ahaha.
I definitely also think he and Soap could be a force to be reckoned with if they team up to play totk because they would absolutely engineer the most elaborate creative korok torture devices xD
Tumblr media
Okay sorry for the long ramble ahaha. I hope some of this is kind of funny! Hope to maybe do a couple other sketches for this idea too.

so, final thoughts on totk? answer with spoilers please
sure.
first: i enjoyed totk a whole lot. even if its charm wore off quicker, it recaptured the joy of early botw for a bit. i've finished the story, but i'll probably continue idly checking off shrines and running around caves for a while longer. if the game had just been that, i'd probably have no significant complaints.
totk has the same problem as botw where all the main dungeons feel like homework. you might have seen me gripe about the fire temple early on, but the spirit temple was probably the most tedious stretch of the game. (like, the least they could have done was make mineru fun to use, surely??)
the story disappointed me most, not because i went in expecting much, but because it was actually engaging for a while. watching zelda aimlessly fly off after getting the master sword back was a devastating moment. but even as i was gushing about it with my friends, i knew they weren't going to commit.
and they didn't! you might call me a cynic, but zelda should have stayed a dragon. i didn't realistically expect her to, but i was at least hoping for a more convincing reason than "rauru and sonia suddenly appeared and blasted her with energy til she got better." also, why retroactively lessen the weight of her big sacrifice by clarifying that she didn't remember being a dragon at all? why give link his arm back instead of a cool new prosthetic from purah? why reset absolutely everything back to zero?
i also have to mention ganondorf. it's a shame that they (nintendo) made a big fuss about bringing him back, but neglected to make him interesting. isn't that why people missed him in botw? the geoglyph scenes made me expect some kind of fun backstory between him and rauru, but...no, he's just the evil desert man? that's it?
the fake zelda took the wind out of my sails too… there was a lot of potential for fun storytelling with her, but we didn't even get to wonder "could that really be zelda…?" for a moment because she acted like a cartoon villain from the beginning. and! i wanted to fight her!! it was a no-brainer!!!
anyway, i'm getting incoherent. good game overall in spite of my disappointments. i am simply fatigued by stories that pull their punches to avoid upsetting the audience. i don't want the happy ending if it's not the most interesting ending! let me have fun!

Drew this last night while chatting with my cuz. I haven’t done any digital painting-ey stuff in a long time, this was a nice change of pace.
I’ve actually been struggling with drawing lately. It’s weird, I don’t want to call it art block, but it happens sometimes where I’ll have all these ideas that I’m psyched about drawing. And I don’t know if I’m giving it too much weight in my brain, and the excitement gets warped into intimidation or something, but I’m struggling to draw for fun lately. It’s like I forgot what it feels like to draw something just because I want to. I have commissions to do and I think I’m ok with those, maybe because I know i have to do them.
BUT it will pass eventually. I like to think that my drawing abilities/motivation is going through some sort of molting or cocoon when this happens, and that when it’s over I’ll be better than before. Somehow.
So while I was talking with my cousin I asked for a request, and he suggested totk link. Haven’t actually played that game yet! I’ve been into mario lately so I used a gift card on my birthday to get mario kart for switch. I’ve been playing the shit out of that, but I WILL play this eventully. It’s about time I sat and played a new zelda.
Anyway, this has been journal rant time with veronica, I hope you enjoyed

New interview...am I crazy or is this a lot of interviews?
Tumblr media
This answer is...fascinating because while it is true that TotK allows you to discover...literally anything at any moment, it is that very thing that could spoil any mystery there is to the game. For example, if you do discover that Zelda is the dragon early on, it makes going through the story a nerve grating experience as you are subjected to everyone wondering where Zelda is and following them into obvious traps. I can agree that it is hard to find a good balance between telling a cohesive story while retaining complete player freedom but that complete freedom for the player makes it...actually rather hard to keep anything a mystery. You uncover the wrong mystery and now you're not having a great time. I don't know, it feels a little disingenuous of them to not admit that they tried to fit a linear story in a non linear game. This feels like they were avoiding the question with a lot of words.
Tumblr media
This answer sort of pisses me off if I have to be honest. On one hand, I think people that keep clamoring for the old formula are annoying in their own way, because Zelda to me has always been a series that was not afraid to try new things. Zelda is close to 40 years old now; of course the developers will want to try something different to breath new life into the series, and it is perfectly fine to not like the new direction. However, to dismiss people's complaints as nostalgia and "the grass is greener" also sounds like a big misunderstanding of what people enjoyed about the more linear approach to Zelda. To hear Aonuma, the one who has worked with this series for so long, express confusion at why people enjoyed the more linear style of Zelda makes me wonder what his own relationship with past titles has been like. You worked with it, you had your hands in it, and you can't see any reason why people might prefer the older games? Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Tumblr media
As a person who has never given a shit about the timeline my question is: did this not occur to you when you released an official one? Developers are free to do what they want but when you say there's an official timeline and then say well you feel restricted by the thing you created then maybe you shouldn’t have created one to begin with. Are people annoying with the timeline? Sure but it's not baseless either. This whole interview sort of tells me that both Aonuma and Fujibayashi are more interested in gameplay and seem really uninterested in the story and lore elements of the game. However, when people argue that LoZ is about gameplay and not story, they seem to not consider that gameplay is also part of the story. TotK's gameplay was so disjointed from the story that it's just hard to ignore. The new abilities are all fun to play with but what do they lend to the story? How do they relate to the Zonai? Why did the Zonai need them? Older titles on the other hand integrated their gameplay mechanics into the story and made the experience feel cohesive. It just surprises me that Aonuma seems to just dismiss that, in a way? I just really hope that Zelda isn't just becoming some huge sandbox game a la minecraft.

i was so happy that ganondorf was a character in totk when it was announced but now i am just sad about it honestly, i get that the older games had the trio as a good kids VS evil old guy thing, but i sincerely hoped that how much botw revolutionized(?) about the zelda principle in terms of gameplay they would now have the chance to do so, at least a little bit, in totk with the story
and then, as much as i like his design, hes again just an already very old evil guy that appeared out of nowhere for all we know that needs to be stopped by some kids/really young people and all the crumbs of personality or well ... not even crumbs but pure idea of a backstory we have to interpret into it all from things like manner of speech, animation and design elements bc all he does is some evil monologing that doesnt even serve well for interpretation
like, he was already so old when we first see him, what did he do all his life?? like even if he only turned aggressive once rauru founded this version of hyrule he had to have lived idk 50 years before that, was he just a regular leader of his people before that?? was he just .. some dude?? all we actually know is ... old evil guy shows up and attacks the perfect and good kingdom (tm) dont we? maybe some vague, arbitrary you denied me *generic villain thing like power, rule etc* line but thats it?
(i dont mind having to read between the lines, it can be very fun, but it also depends on if you are reading between lines and theres something intentionally left there or if you are trying really hard to see something but theres nothing actually there for you to find; to be clear, i also like creating your own ideas around stuff, but when you get to know some people from basically birth to their prime time and then theres a guy thats just there to be an endboss and even now in modern games doesnt get anything beyond a neat design and fun bossfight its just ... so flat?sad? i love interpeting but i also wouldnt mind to see something more for once ..)

Ao3 tag game!
THANKS @ragecndybars FOR THE TAG I APPRECIATE IT
*cracks knuckles* lets do this
How many works do you have on AO3?
24 works! I would have never expected to have that many 5 years ago, hahaha
What's your total AO3 word count?
186,291! oh wow, almost 200k!! (unsurprisingly PT minato takes up over a third of that LMAO)
How many fandoms have you written for, and what are they?
10 fandoms! I'm counting Persona 3, 4, and 5 and separate, but I'm grouping all the Zelda fandoms together since it's all Linked Universe fic.
Here's the breakdown!
The Legend of Zelda & Related Fandoms (6)
Persona 5 (5)
Persona 3 (5)
SPY x FAMILY (Anime) (3)
Wizard101 (Video Game) (3)
SPY x FAMILY (Manga) (3)
Runescape (Video Games) (3)
Pirate101 (Video Game) (3)
Persona 4 (2)
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom (2)
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood & Manga (1)
Star Wars - All Media Types (1)
The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Warriors (1)
Top five fics by kudos:
The Ghost of Mementos/Stygian Ringlet (Persona3/5) - to the surprise of absolutely no one, since this is currently my longest fic. I'm very happy with Stygian Ringlet being the top because I love my boys :)
True Crime Special on the Midnight Channel (Persona 4/5) - my Ren has a TV Dungeon fic! also very proud of the dungeon concept for this one, I really need to finish the last two chapters
Dark Clouds on the Horizon (Linked Universe/TOTK) - I feel like this one got a lot of momentum partially because it was directly in the wake of TOTK's release, but I'm happy with how it turned out :)
Strangers Are Just Friends You Haven't Met (Persona 3/SPY x FAMILY) - this was a collab series with mewrose and a few others in the marigolds discord! we were throwing ideas at the wall to see what stuck and I really had a lot of fun with Shinjiro-related prompts, because I LOVE him and hitting him with the isekai baseball bat into a universe with Anya brings me great joy
Salt Tears and Raindrops (Linked Universe/TOTK) - directly related to Dark Clouds, and I'm glad people enjoyed good ol' fashioned angst >:) (I do need to post more of my wips, I do have a couple more roleswap AU wips that I want to post)
Do you respond to comments?
Yes! I almost always do because I really appreciate them and its my way of saying thanks for the comment! If I don't comment it's because I lost track of it or because I can't think of a response.
What's the fic with the angstiest ending you've ever written?
Probably Salt Tears and Raindrops. I was in a Mood and decided to go for the tried-and-true method of putting fictional characters I like through the emotional wringer. That's how I got the rough draft for this fic :)
Do you write crossovers?
*looks at my persona fics and recent LU fics*
...I think it's safe to say most of my fics these days fall under crossovers lmao
Have you ever gotten hate on a fic?
I wouldn't say I have? One or two comments that came off as rude, but no actual hate, thankfully. If I did, I forgot about it. I've been blessed by wonderfully nice readers <3
Do you write smut?
Nope. I don't read it, so I wouldn't know how to write it anyway.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of? I sure hope not.
I have seen a couple short fics slightly imitate Ghost of Mementos though, which I thought was really sweet that they liked it enough to inspire their own writing.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope, but I'd definitely be open to it!
What’s your all-time favorite ship?
RYOMINA. Hands down. I love them so much, I am so mentally unwell about these two
What’s a WIP that you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?
My two Runescape fics, Whispers in the Temple and Welcome to the Jungle. I absolutely loved going hogwild with rewriting old quests in Runescape, but I psyched myself out of Welcome to the Jungle because I got overly anxious about accidentally doing bad representation.
(in hindsight, it probably wouldn't have been as big a deal as I thought; it's hard to make it worse considering how bad Legend's Quest was with the british-african stereotypes. that quest DID NOT age well.)
I also want to finish Snake in the Grass; that was my first attempt at a genuine mystery plot and I really liked playing with Warriors in that fic in the context of the gang trying to figure out who the heck is trying to murder him.
What are your writing strengths?
I feel like I'm pretty good at dialogue! I try to make sure it matches the character's speech patterns and personality. Really well-written dialogue can tell you who's speaking without actually telling who it is. (For example, the way I write them: Minato speaks as few words as possible and has very little filter with his observations when he does share them, and Shinjiro is pretty rough around the edges, with shortened words and the occasional swear. Warriors is good with words and wit, but he has a certain military-esque directness and doesn't dance around the topic.)
I do try hard to keep the plot clear and understandable over everything else, so probably that as well.
Also, now that I think about it, maybe fight sequences? I don't do them much, but I do enjoy the challenge of making a clear sequence of what happens in a fight and trying to make it understandable. Fight sequences are easy to skip or gloss over, but I think of them like their own miniature plot. What happens? What surprises are there? What are their movesets? How do they get the upper hand? (and of course, what looks cool as fuck)
What are your writing weaknesses?
Time management. I tend to over-proofread since I beta my own work, and often I'll go back to tweak stuff if I had additional thoughts to add to it, or extra insight. Lately, it takes longer to write chapters than I'd like.
Also, dialogue-heavy scenes often get very chaotic in my WIPs because of the way I rough out fics. I'll throw together a bunch of dialogue bits I think would be cool to include, and sometimes they'll clash or get really messy, especially if there's lots of characters (looking at the latest two chapters of Stygian Ringlet)
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fics?
I think it's cool! It adds flavor to fics. If it's more than one short phrase though, or if it's story important, then I do prefer that there is a translation in the author's notes. I haven't done any non-English dialogue in fics, save for one memorable adventure into trying to figure out how Latin grammar structure works for a character that didn't speak English.
What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?
Wizard101 and Pirate101. I was obsessed with those two for YEARS. I really, really liked pirate stories in high school, and having a cast of crewmates that accompany you throughout the game really inspired me to write my first fic featuring my OC. (I was also into One Piece at the time, but I never wrote for it.)
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written so far?
Stygian Ringlet. It's really dear to my heart. I have poured so much love and effort into that fic, and the reception on it has completely blown me away.
THANKS FOR THE TAG!! Uhhhmmm for tags I'm going to go with @skyward-floored, @catreginae and @breannasfluff (but only if you want to!! no obligation of course)
and of course any other writers that want to do it as well!! go forth

God I wanna write a one shot or a fic or something about these boys so bad a love them sm but I don’t have a good enough grip on their characterrrrrr gotta sink my teen in them moreeeeeee. I’m particularly chewing time.
Anyways any useless headcanons about any of you boys you wanna share? Little facts that will probably never appear in the comic but is still canon to you?
Wa!! That's fun hehe, I hope you can find the confidence because it's always fun to see people create. As for a headcanon that might not come up in the comic.. Hmm..
Mini and Zelda are best friends and often have tea parties or forest adventures together! The latter isn't exactly allowed but the two are terrifyingly good at dodging the guards.
TP Link is gay, Midna is gay, TP Zelda is gay, they're all homosexual and Midna and Zelda make out. It's great. 👍
Since totk hasn't happened in the comic's timeline yet, I figure events of that game wont be mentioned (SPOILERS), however I think Link should've lost Rauru's arm after the game and then had a stump left. I guess he could get a prosthetic but I'm not sure if he'd be that pressed.
Groose has a crush on Link and Zelda, poly rights.

do you like totk or botw better?
In short: Yes, I like botw better.
Here are my reasons, though!
I know a lot of people view it as the better experience, which is completely subjective and valid if you do and like it better, but I just view botw as being better in almost every way.
I will give it to totk. The dungeons have a lot better atmosphere. The game has some extremely high highs with the build-up to the wind temple, the whole great sky island segment, and the final boss is a much better fight (though dark beast ganon has a better theme song imo).
Other than that, I prefer botw. Totk has a much grander story, but it's completely mishandled. You can argue that totk has a great story but has poor execution, and to me, execution plays a big role in what makes a story good. You can have good ideas bit it all falls apart if they aren't executed well which ends up making the story bad. It's not that totk has a good story with poor execution, it has good ideas but the bad execution leads to a poorly told story. (I hope that makes sense). Botw has less of a story and is more like a set of events. Botw has history and backstory that is told more organically. Link has amnesia so he slowly regains some of his memories of the past with some people trying to help fill him in. It feels more real...in a weird fantasy way. I guess totk is similar with how we see Zelda's memories, but not really? It's weird to explain. Everything 100 years ago is felt in present day botw while in totk most of those things don't really matter as it happened so long ago. Things only start to resurge because Zelda wanted to investigate under the castle. Totk also has twists like a story. Idk if this is making sense but that's how I feel on their stories. There was just not much botw could mess up on story wise as the way it was presented.
Gameplay wise I can not lie totk is technical marvel with the zonai tech. That's the most impressive thing about it. Tbh building contraptions isn't my thing though, it takes too long to make and experiment with a machine when I can just do whatever that machine was gonna do much faster. I see why people have a lot of fun with it though, it just isn't my thing. One thing I HATE in totk though is the amount of menuing I have to do. Elemental arrows had a serious downgrade. Yeah it's cool to fuse stuff to arrows, but not when I have to do it to ever single individual arrow and if I want to try something new I have to scroll past 50 other items in a single line. It's just tedious. If I want to use a good weapon I have to go to the menu, drop an item, and menu again to fuse it to a weapon that will still break. Item breaking is still an issue but it's more annoying and the weapons no longer look cool. Totk has some cool abilities, but idk I'd trade them all for remote bombs lmao. I hate going through caves, especially early game, and having to deal with the rock walls where they want me to fuse a rock to a stick 10 times to get through one cave. There's just a lot of little things gameplay wise that bug me. They doubled down on botws gameplay issues and added some more annoying ones. I don't even have to mention the sages abilities, that's a whole mess.
On the topic of gameplay, botw just has the better world. Idc, exploring that world for the first time is an unforgettable experience. Totks main world is too similar so the magic is gone. The sky and depths are also unimpressive and repetitive. Botw also has the benefit on how the word felt so lonely yet alive. Everything had a purpose or a story. The world has a history. And totk just doesn't have that. Outside of the upheaval, totk doesn't really build on botws world that much. I was hoping to see if they would've added new towns or see how they'd rebuild hyrule, but they really didn't do that. We only got lookout landing, which doesn't really count as a town, and a bunch of building stuff lying around which is cool I guess. Hateno has a school and Terry Town expanded a little, but with the estimate of about 5 years since botw it makes you wonder...what have these people been doing? We can theoretically build Terry Town in one day. There could be new towns.
Totk is a sequel that doesn't really acknowledge it's predecessor which is so odd. Botw stands on its own and is an overall more cohesive experience. Everything in the world feels purposefully crafted for that world while totk just slaps things on top of it with not much thought. Botw has some amazing world building while for totk it's either "the Zonai did it" or has some contradictory world building. For example, the old sages lifted up the sky islands so that Link would be protected from Ganondorf shenanigans, but then other sky islands suggest how they've been around long before Rauru since young Zonai used to train in them or something. There is also how Zelda says Link never leaves her side, but people she interacts with on an almost daily basis do not recognize him and how even treat as if he doesn't know some facts about her. So either she is overexaggerating by a lot and/or lying in her own diary or that people in hyrule have the collective memory of a rock. There's also Zelda supposedly never giving Link the champions leathers yet as a gift, but we see him wearing it in the beginning. Idk there's more contradictories, but I haven't experienced this for botw??? Totk is so disconnected and disjointed in comparison.
I'm trying to be vague but there's a lot to say, I'm sorry. I really was enjoying this game at the beginning but the more I played the more I noticed or saw things that bugged me and just kept adding up and up on each other. Botw was never like this for me. It's just more cohesive and I like that. There are so many other things I haven't brought up like the repetitive cutscenes, or missing characters/characters that SHOULD know Link but don't (namely Bolson and Hestu). But this post is long. I can't keep complaining about this game. Botw really is that one of a kind experience, and totk tries to replicate it but worse. Botw had a vine that totk lacks. You feel so alone, but you meet knew people and make friends. You build connections as you learn about the past and help those around you. There is no story, you're just a person going through the motions and exploring the vast world around you. Totk can't replace that for me. I'm the main character playing a side role in a disjointed world where not much makes sense. Everything is similar in all the wrong ways.
And most important of all, they took away Link's fun dialogue and personality now he really is bland asf and used to defend that he wasn't.

My go to plan as soon as I get totk:
Get through the tutorial area (probably in the sky then need to get back on to the surface)
Go to hateno. See if the zelink living in the hateno house together fanfics were real.
Check out something specific relating to the art book leak. (Not describing or sharing the leak so don't worry about spoilers from me! :)
Find a horse that at least looks like the one I had in breath of the wild, my beloved baby boy Romeo who can do and hasn't done nothing wrong ever in the entire 6 years of his life (he kicked me off a cliff four separate times):
Tumblr media
Go to Gerudo desert because out of all regions it's the one I'm the most interested in seeing the state of post Ganondorf resurrection(?) murderous pissy fit.
I'm going to build me a big fuck off Zonai tractor.
Zelda. I need to know if she's alright, I would like to find out this earlier on but that's probably going to be found out through story and I really do want to take my time with it.
I need to see what the hell is happening with this korok with a backpack:
Tumblr media
Speaking of the koroks, uhm... korok forest is gone. I definitely want to check that out. (Sorry this picture so so fucking blurry with how it's zoomed in but the forests gone)
Tumblr media
I need to find out if I can glue two Royal claymores together (or an equivalent) to make a big fuck off abomination claymore that does double claymore damage that looks like this:
Tumblr media
Go back to eventide. I wonder if they added something there. It seems like something thats a no brainer to do.
Check out what the fuck is going on with the labyrinths I can't find the screenshots now but I remember seeing some of them floating with the sky islands at some point.
If if I can find a sky island resembling at least a little bit of skyloft. I feel it in my bones that Nintendo would pull that type of shit. Or not because this is also Nintendo.
Documenting literally every even hint of a zelink moment in the entire game so I can make several posts gushing over it in the future.
Take lots of screenshots! I actually played breath of the wild on wii u and never on switch so of course I never really had that screenshot or recording capability so I finally can really go all out in this game.
The dragon that is 10000% a fucking Gleeok on the bridge of Hylia I've already determined is going to be the first overworld boss I fight. 🙂 I can't wait to fight it with only five or so hearts 🙂
Tumblr media
Amd finally since amiibo support is confirmed and costumes are too - the artbook actually confirmed it but I don't really think that's a spoiler because it's a very obvious mechanic to bring back than just having them be used once only for the paraglider skins you get that was officially confirmed here below so I can't wait to get my ocarina of time and twilight princess gear back that I can wear for the whole game!
Tumblr media
Over all I just really want to have fun in this game and really it looks like it's going to deliver. I can't wait to sink hundreds if not thousands of hours into and I REALLY REALLY hope it can at least fix a lot of it's predecessors issues, especially with how it executes it's story. I keep saying it, breath of the wild *had* the potential to be one of the best zelda stories ever but it was done so extremely poorly trying to tell it, majority of it is just ruined. I sincerely hope Nintendo has learned their lesson from that and actually let the Link/you the player actually play throughand experience the games narrative instead of just... having it exposition dumped onto you over and over in flashback cutscenes as stuff that's already happened and can't be changed. I went having this game with very low confidence it was first revealed in 2019, but the more and more I keep seeing it now the higher my optimism gets and I actually genuinely hope this game is really good.
I'm actually wishing the best for it and desperately hope it doesn't disappoint. We've all waited so long, and now we have only a little bit more to go.
