headcanon, aesthetic & self para — geumhui, hari & minjung

summary — minjung’s first acting debut and it’s a lead role in what the company predicted to be a low-key drama airing on sbs. surrounded by playing a character who pretends to be someone else for the first half, she puts herself into new shoes wearing her own mask for what being an actress entails. fun fun fun ensues on set being co-stars with her ex’s best friend, but in reality, all minjung wants to do is to lay in bed and do nothing all day. headcanon wc — 566 self para wc — 499

minjung’s starring in a business proposal. it’s one of those webtoon to dramas, and most times these webtoon to drama plots don’t do that well when it actually turns into a live-action. hence, why gold star signed her up and why everything seemed to fall in place for her having her first role be a lead role

plus, it’s on sbs and let’s be real, not many popular dramas air on kbs or sbs as of late. you gotta go to cable, so they thought it would be a safe bet for a first acting gig

but let’s be real, minjung didn’t get the role because she is good at acting and she sought out trial auditions. instead, she got it because she’s an up and coming star in regards to her music, and she’s been doing so many long lasting brand deals that gold star said — what’s the next step?

this leads her into having a role at her disposal, meaning the director specifically sought out minjung because she has this girl next door look (note: i say looks, not personality). it’s soft and feminine, basically hitting the marks on korean beauty standards. so, the director thought she’d look good with her co-star, who i haven’t given a name so we’ll just call him ahn hyo seop.

at first, minjung didn’t want to do it at all. she refused because acting wasn’t her forte, she has the basic lessons that every trainee gets. her acting resume consists of her own music videos, and she’s not that good? i rank her literally a 5/10 in terms of acting — luckily, this role doesn’t require high skill acting like any other drama would. instead, it’s a rom com, so a lot of the acting is dramatized and not meant to be realistic. (my friends and i called this drama our guilty pleasure bc it was so childish we hated to admit we liked it)

but really, she had to oblige because that’s what the company forced upon her and she couldn’t do anything. she wasnt’ scheduled for anything else besides a few modeling gigs here and there & equinox. aka company doesn’t have her scheduled for solo music, so she had to oblige to get what she wants out of the bargain

the drama is pretty solid in terms of staff and cast. she gets along with the actress who stars as her bff in the drama. they hang out during down time, and laugh together — she keeps it real, and none of the fake bullshit minjung sees in the industry. plus, the director is a lovely human making everything go smoothly.

the biggest kicker is the fact that her ex’s best friend is the male lead, making things uncomfortable. because you know — you date someone, you become friends with their friends. but when you break up, you have that awkward weird tension with those friends because you no longer have a common factor.

so, minjung considers that uncomfortable, plus the fact that her ex could hop onto set at any second to visit his friend meaning they’d cross paths. this ultimately results in her always being on her toes leading to a burdensome and very tiring drama setting

she doesn’t ever want to act again and hopes this isn’t well received bc she wants this to be her last.

2/10 experience for this acting.

everything feels like a fever dream.

the abrupt shift away from the monotony of what she’s always known: equinox, the studio. home. laugh. cry. repeat. now, it strays from that and her schedules turn into wayward circles being yanked in one direction to the next, paused and cued by the snaps and orders of the director at the seat.

still, she learns to assimilate.

she knows how to bow her head. tries to remember her lines for more than what it comes off at face value — a cheap romantic comedy, constructing the fairy tale image that becomes a fable in the real world. cheap cuts, kiss scenes. the doe-eyed gazes of falling in love with a perfect man, no trouble in sight.

seo minjung takes a deep breath. steadies herself back in front of the camera before fixing the bottom hemline of her skirt. cut, and it’s another twenty minute break that seizes a sigh from her mouth, and an feverish desire to step out of this world and back into the monochrome colors of her own.

so, she takes another bow, polite enough but short from the ninety degrees of the initial encounter. a turn of her heels, and she tries to run like cinderella, only longer steps, more poised. less of a runaway bride, and more of a hurry back over towards her manager. but the footsteps behind her echo, and the fever dream turns into a nightmare when the touch of a palm on her shoulder forces her to tense up — shoulders to ear, pried wide grin as she turns around to see her own co-star.

there’s no script on how to handle the aftermath of a friendship break-up. no how-to’s for how to not breach an arms length past a friendship severed by heartbreak.

“hey.” (and that’s her own makeshift how-to.)

“you can’t avoid me the entire time we’re filming a drama.”

“i haven’t — we have scenes together. i think it’d be nearly impossible to avoid you in a drama, don’t you think?” her tone’s light, too light and nonchalant that her head tilt feigns an ignorance he reads right through. and the smile painted on her face fools the bystanders and onlookers getting glimpses of staff peeking by with each step.

“it’s weird, isn’t it? filming with me, but you and kiyong….” minjung stops him, dips her chin low before the sentence begins to chip away at the facade she’s clenching together.

kiyong, and like that, she smiles. this time marked with shades of blue.

“not weird at all. i’m a professional. you’re a professional — we’re here to sell a romantic comedy. that’s what we’re here to be. i’ll be that average girl next door hari, and you’ll be rich chaebol taemoo — kiyong’s not a variable in this equation. there’s no variables in this equation.” her smile widens, making up for the gnawing feeling in the pit of her stomach. “now, if you’ll excuse me. i have to pee.”

On directing, Jensen says he didn't realize until he directed that as an actor we are responsible for one link in the chain. The best performance of that character. As a director you are responsible for ALL the links. (x)

Jensen says once his dolly grip came up and said he could hear him thinking. As an actor just showing up and knowing lines and performing is so much easier. (x)

Today I saw a anon saying jk used to compliment jimin in every mv reaction videos. And in 2021 he didn't done in both mv reaction videos.

Is this right.

I know this maybe a difficult work to go through each mv reactions. If you don't want to you can dismiss this ask 😊👍.

Hello anon 💜 thank you for being patient with me. I also saw this ask that was sent to @kanmom51 a few days ago. People really grasp at anything and everything to decide KM aren't close anymore or have supposedly broken up. Now I didn't want to just say anything about this, I wanted to make sure that we could bring numbers into this before we discussed it. So I went and found all the music video reactions they have done over the years. Now please do not crucify me if I have missed one or two. There is a lot of years of content to go through here yall, and I'm only human. I think I got them all though, correct me if I'm wrong. Not all my links will be able to be embedded because tumblr only allows that 10 times, so some will have to be links you click on and follow if you want to see the original reaction. Sorry. Some are directly from Bangtan TV. Some are from Bangtan subs because BH didn't put subtitles in theirs. And some are pulled from various other subbed sources because the reaction is from other random music shows or live streams or comeback shows.... which if I missed a reaction somewhere, it's from one of those that I momentarily have forgotten about. But we work with what we have! Lol

Their first reaction video they filmed over one of their own videos was actually to a dance practice, this was in 2014, the SBS Gayo Daejeon Performance. Jungkook didn't say anything at all during this reaction, just nodded along to what the others said. The only thing said about Jimins part was by RM in this one about how it was regretful that JM missed his landing during their trick but he nailed it when they recorded it again at a later date.

The next reaction video they did was a commentary over the Danger MV on Mnet which was posted 140903. This is a much longer video, almost 20 minutes long because every single one of them stopped the video anytime their own faces showed up on the screen. 😂 I'll only talk about moments where KM talked about each other, but if you haven't seen the whole video, you should. It's cute. KM mentioned each other briefly 3 times through the whole clip. JM compliments JK on his good acting at playing the piano even though he doesn't actually play after JK stopped the video to talk about how he couldn't really play the piano. A few minutes later JM, along with everyone else, compliments JK on his acting again. During Jimins highnote while everyone dances around him, JK says "oh. Jimin-hyung."

The next video they react to is at the end of 2014 on a radio show. 141023 and it's to their War Of Hormone MV. Jikook didn't saying anything about each other in this one.

Next is 150505 for a reaction to I Need U featuring a reaction to JinKiMin predebut photos/videos too. Lol JK and JM do not really comment on each other here other than during JKs crying scene where JM says he is not good at crying on demand. I don't really know how much this one counts. Lol They had a second reaction to the I Need U MV as well on 150507. JM said lots in this video, but nothing specific to JK or his scenes. JK said practically nothing for the entire 8 minutes. He said "it looks like a drama" in reference to the MV towards the end and participated in the group "fighting" to say goodbye. But otherwise he spent the whole video chewing on his lips and enjoying watching everyone else laugh and talk.

The next video reaction that they did is their Dope MV reaction, which was filmed only with Jimin and J-hope doing the reaction on 150623. So obviously JK is not making any comments in this one either since he isn't even in it. Lol JM though, his comment over JK was "What I felt most while watching this is that Jungkookie is really handsome. I think the red head (referring to himself) matches his hair color. I also felt that many times too." He called JK really handsome 3 times in this 5 minute reaction. Lol (as a side note, they filmed this RUN episode the same day and this must have been what all the other members were getting ready for and why they weren't reacting too):

The next video reaction I found was from Dec 2015 for the RUN music video reaction. During the YoonKook fight scene, JM commented that JK looks different in this MV. During the scene where the rest of the hyungs all run up to JK and Yoonmin hug him tightly, both JK and JM smile very fondly, but neither says anything.

The only music video reaction I could find that they did from 2016 was to the Blood Sweat and Tears MV. At the beginning of the MV, JK says "Woah, Jimin hyung is sexy!" Rest of hyungs compliment JK, to which JK says "oh, Jimin hyung though" with a smile and head tilt. Jimin and the rest of BTS give an woahhhh of appreciation at JKs sexy smirk to the camera. JK screams along with the rest of the hyungs at Jimins shoulder move. JK says "Jiminie. Jiminie" (no honorifics Jk, okay) during JMs blind fold scene. Everyone called TaeJin the 2 most handsome members during their scene too. Honestly this was basically just 6+ minutes of Bangtan calling each other sexy and OT6 being Jimin's biggest fan boys.

The next MV of theirs that they reacted to was DNA MV reaction on 170918. JM at the starts says that JK has lost too much weight and should really gain some. Basically scolding him for being too skinny. JM smacks JKs arm and shouts with everyone during JKs DNA point to the arm part. JK really doesn't make any comment during this video and doesn't say anything about Jimin here, but he does give a small smile during Jimins hand camera shake part, but that's about it.

The next video is again during 2017 and is the Mic Drop MV reaction on 171126. During the flying scene, JK says "oh. You will see us fly soon. Jimin hyung! With Jimin hyung!" And they both laughed when they did. Which is cute knowing how hard they giggled together filming that bit. JM comments that JK was going hard and chants "Jeon Jungkook" during his little solo part in the first pre-chorus and then starts changing "Kim Taehyung" when it transitioned to V's part. They went to go rewatch the explosion scene and with the buildup on Jimin's part, JK says "oh, jimin hyung. His hip movements." JKs part during the bridge, JM says "as expected, Jungkook is..." but never finished his sentence. During Jimins part at the end, JK sings his like cola line too and JM asks "How was I there?" Jk and Jin reply that he looked good. Maknae Line + Hobi stay at watch it all the way through AGAIN. JM takes a photo of the still frame of JK flying backwards because he looked funny. Lol JK once again Comments on Jimins hip movements. JM once again comments on JK dancing extra hard. During the bridge, JM smacks JK on the chest and says "You're quite handsome." Jimin then stays alone to watch it for a 4th time, but the reaction cuts there.

The next one was done for the Idol MV reaction on 180904. JK commented on Jimin once, during the shot where he looks into the camera and raises his eyebrows. JK says "oh, Jimin." Jimin smacks him and asks "What are you talking about?" Just for JK to repeat "Jimin." No honorifics. JM didn't mention anything about JK during his parts this video. And then Jikook do ending mentions and say goodbye together.

The next video they do is in 2020 I believe. 200119 for the Black Swan Art Film reaction. It's a really sweet reaction. But not to much to say since it isn't really their own video, KM don't "react" to each other since they aren't in it. The only comment that gets made about Jimin is the boys says he should do a video like this too, Jimin and the 6 Black swans.

The next music video they reacted to was 2 months later, released 200306 of their ON Music Video Reaction. JM shouts "woahhh JK!!" with everyone else. JK goes "Jimin!" when he appears on screen (no honorifics again). JM asks JK if he was cold going in the water. JM at the end tells JK he did a good job and they fist bump. JK and Jhope rewatched the video together again, with no further comments on Jimin's parts.

The next video filmed was their Black Swan MV reaction video on 200317. This one is iconic for JKs reactions to Jimin, which literally start 3 seconds into the video since Jimin opens the MV up. Again, no honorifics through practically the whole video. JM made no comments over JK this video.

The next video takes us to August 2020 for a Dynamite Music Video Reaction. JM says that JK looks great as the opening. They watch it a second time this time with pauses to talk about it. JM pauses and asks a million times if JK missed him and the hyungs when filming the solo scene while JK avoids his question. JK comments on Jin doing his solo shoot but his comment about how him and Jimin were done and heading home and that Jimin stopped to help Jin create his pose. Lol JM stops on his bridge part of say his eyes looked funny and JK commented back to tease him asking why he was looking at him that way and that while the subs says "creepy" the better translation was pervy. Lol meaning JK knew he was giving him the EYES there 🤣 so there was response to Jimin over Jimins part and a comment about Jikook going home together to Jins part from JK, but no real reaction on his own to Jimin's MV parts here. But we should mention JKs serious heart eyes and eyelash fluttering while staring at Jimin during many parts of this reaction too.

They then follow this up a little bit later with a reaction to Dynamite B side MV. The only comment involving the both them here was from JM that they had to run like crazy to get to their spot on set on time. But otherwise there really wasn't any comment or reaction from either of them to each other on this one, and no comment about it at all from JK.

Life Goes On MV reaction at the end of 2020 during their vlive is the last MV reaction they did for the year of 2020. The only comment from JK to or about Jimin was after Jimin specifically asked him why he filmed him brushing his teeth/getting ready for the day. Which JK answered with a bad breath joke and saying he wanted to keep the MV like their reality. JM doesn't comment about any of JKs scenes at all here either.

Next up, we have their Butter MV reaction from 2021. They did this during their live stream commentary as well. This one was fairly short too. They went through it very very quickly in only 3 minutes. The only big comments JK gave in these 3 minutes was that he went on a water fast for 5 days for the MV, which only JM seemed to know about, which JM then pouted when his Comment about the water fast went unheard. And that he very much so wanted to tease his Hobi hyung about having to eat a big pad of butter. Lol JM didn't comment on JK here either except for his attempt at the water fast comment and a small comment about JKs long hair at the start.

And their latest as of now MV reaction was for the Permission to Dance MV, which was filmed right before the MV was released. JM comments on JK with him opening the scene with an "Oh, JK." JM teases him about his laundromat spin scene asking if it was the power of editing. JK was quiet through this really. His only comments being a how cute to the little kids dancing and his remark about how if you look at each other while dancing it will make you laugh. Which had him and Jimin looking at each other and doing the dance in tiny with big smiles.

So that's all of them I think. I only included music videos. Not reactions to stage performances, behind the scenes stuff, photoshoots etc. I also encourage you all to go and watch all these videos and see everything in the whole context. The vibes from both JK and JM during filming. Things they said to everyone else, reactions to the things that were said, things everyone else said about them. These little glimpses I talk about are just barely the tip of the iceberg of everything else going on in the videos.

Personally, I love how loudly supportive they are of each other or how amazed they get by each other, or the soft smiles often given when they see the other on screen. But often does NOT mean every single time ever. In 2014 there were 3 reactions filmed, JK said one thing about JM during his long held note during danger. That Video was also 17 minutes long. Other than that, neither of them commented on each other. In 2015 there were 2 videos for I Need U, JK didn't comment on Jimins parts in either of those videos. Nor did he comment on JM in the Run MV either. 2016 he was all over calling Jimin sexy in BST, can't blame him. In 2017, there were 2 videos, in one JK didn't comment on Jimin at all, in the other he was very appreciative of Jimins hips. In 2018, he made a flirty remark to Jimin during a scene where Jimin is flirting with the camera. No reactions (i think) in 2019. In 2020, there were 5 reactions videos posted, since the art film wasn't them technically i won't count it. The iconic black swan Jimin fanboying from JK, the Dynamite one where it was a comment prompted by Jimin and was teasing, so idk if I would count that as him hyping up Jimin's part like he did in other reactions. The ON reaction where he shouted his name when he first came on, but that's it. And the b side reaction where he didn't mention him at all. And Life Goes On, where again, it was a teasing remark, prompted by Jimin. And in 2021, we had 2 videos, where they interacted with each other fine and seemed happy, but they didn't really comment on each other's parts of the video. To sum up... lol

So out of a total of 19 videos, 8 of them have JK not remarking on Jimin's parts of the video at all. 6 of those videos take place before 2021. That is essentially 40% of their total reaction videos since 2014. 35% of those no comment videos from JK being from before 2021. So when the anon you are referencing here from @kanmom51 blog said that this was proof of a consistent pattern being broken, it's just not true. One video had no comment from JK in 2017, which we know was a good year for them. 2020 had multiple videos, one had NO comment at all, and 2 of them had only a teasing remark about Jimin after it was prompted by Jimin. Which in no way stops how cute those were, but can we really count them as JK hyping up his man's solo MV parts? He obviously cares, he obviously enjoys. But the comment of especially in 2020, well its not true. 1 out of 5 had nothing, and only 2 out of 5 could really be called "hype" behavior or "cheerleader" behavior. Black Swan was iconic with JK's reaction, but it is not the standard of every reaction video.

I rounded down slightly with my percentages. I am not a math person though, if anyone catches my math not mathing. Let me know.

So technically, yes. It is correct that JK didn't really comment on Jimin's parts in the 2021 MV video reactions. But it is NOT correct that this is indicative of a pattern broken or that it hints of changed behavior between Jimin and Jungkook. Started and ending this post with iconic KM lifts, 2013 to 2020, beautiful from start to finish.

This... was alot and took me a damn long time to go through and write up. Lmfao again, if i missed any reaction videos, i apologize. I'm working with the numbers from the 19 videos I did find. Hope this helps break down the issues from any insecurities the other anon brought up and sheds some light on what a pattern is or isn't in regards to KM. This is another reason why insecurity arises so quickly and so often and is almost always unfounded when you actually go back and look at what the patterns over the years are and what the data actually looks like. And anyway, they sure are cute and sooo sweet with each other so often. I love how in most of these reactions, they are so smitten with each other too. The half that has them hyping each other up is incredible.

You started working for SBS a while ago, approximately two or three years ago. You usually had to film fancams since it was much more easier – well, not really since you had to follow a certain member jump across the screen but it was worth it. And the fans loved it anyways.

Today, you had to film a lot of individual members, about 10 in total. A lot of special stages were happening today at this years’ Gayo Daejeon. You weren’t tired of this job in any means, you actually liked it. Sometimes your heart would flutter when the members stared right at the camera lens. They would actually be staring straight at you, you always thought.

The last stage, or well, the last member you had to film today was ITZY’s RYUJIN. She was your bias of the said group so it was more than special to you. Of course, you had to film her quite a few times before but everytime, she would make faces at you – slight grins, smiles and smirks towards you. Right infront of the camera. You weren’t really sure if it’s because of the fan service, her having to do it or if she did all of that because you were the person behind the camera. You didn’t really know each other in the first place. You would always watch their Music videos, their practise videos and even follow them on your private instagram account. But her? She didn’t even know your name. Quite sad. But still, since you’re working for SBS, you have to be professional about it. You were doing this for a living, Ryujin chose to be an idol for a living, as well.

Every now and then, you would notice that Ryujin is staring at the camera. She was actually staring at the camera the whole time. Sometimes she would smile, grin or smirk. Like she always did. You didn’t really mind it despite your insides being full of butterflies. After

After filming, the members would greet their fans again and wave them off. They would have a look at their fancams again and would shoot them a smile and wave at them as well. The only thing you weren’t expecting was that Ryujin made her way towards her manager to mumble something and the manager walking over to you, who was checking the fancam (it has to be perfect you know). “You really did a great job filming today!” her manager said. He added, “Ryujin also said that, she usually doesn’t stare at the camera that long, but today she only stared at it.” Both of you guys would bow and you went backstage.

“Uhmm, you must be Y/N-nim, you were filming my fancam just now, right?” You would be surprised by Ryujin appearing infront of you and handing you a note with something written on it. “Oh, I wanted to gave it to my manager to hand it over to you but then I decided it would be better if I give it to you directly, have a safe way home, see you again Y/N-nim!” she bows and hurries back to her members, who were waiting for her to head home.

You stared at the note, feeling the butterflies appear inside you again. “This can’t be-”, when unfolding it, you would find a number written on it. You freak out inside and hurry home. When you arrived, you hurriedly went inside and made yourself dinner and got ready for bed. You wanted to watch one last movie before dozing off. When getting comfortable on your bed, you got the little note out from your jacket again and slowly grabbed your phone. “I don’t know if this is right-” you were sceptical at first but managed to type in the number and save it under your contacts.

You were slowly breathing in before typing a simple Hi” and sent it. You didn’t want to look at your phone again so you put it away. 30 Minutes into the movie, you heard a ‘beep’ from your phone. It was Ryujin. She sent a small hi back and went on to make some small talk with you. You could hear your heart beat every now and then. You were questioning if you’re actually dreaming or if it’s really happening. After pinching yourself, you realized it wasn’t a dream.

in an attempt to get myself thinking about cql again, i tried combining it with my current other hyperfixation by generating a figure skating au and i’m SCREAMING thinking about this

i’m just going to stream-of-consciousness all of my ideas into this post because these ideas are so good i am going INSANE

- wwx inspired by kostornaia my beloved — strong skating skills base (because of his parents, then after his parents die he goes to jiang fengmians skating school which puts him in competitive contention. ) jumps are decent but a bit all over the place bc coaches don’t prioritise him, incredible performance charisma, endearing personality but undervalued by federation + school

- wwx could do kostotwilight. and he would. the mental image of wwx doing the twilight ending pose has been haunting me ALL DAY. wwx could do harley quinn. he could do new york new york. he could do departure. tell me i’m WRONG

- i don’t have a solid inspo for lwj but he’s DEFINITELY like those male skaters with the THICK thighs and gorgeous knee bend. i’m picturing glittery outfits, lyrical programmes, strong ss. but maybe low on interpretation. anyway he and wwx are rivals for gold whenever they compete. when wwx drops out he’s undeniable gold.

- lxc style inspired by yuna kim. the excellent all-rounder but kind of quiet/detached from it all. retires after 2 olympics and considered undeniable goat but also out of the competitive scene — on that note, nmj as mao asada??? contemporary and rival with yuna kim, less consistent and less perfect technique, but with higher value jumps and keeps going at it for longer

- i pictured a twin jades side-by-side cantilever and almost burst into tears on the street. like lan brothers would defo have strong core focus stunts. cantilevers. spirals. spread eagles. their edges are so deep i am sweating.

- anyway jiang cheng having a sort of sasha trusova/nathan chen ferocity, strong jumper but ALL over the place, skating skills not too strong but it’s something he wants to work on. later in his career his costumes become increasingly sparkly and scary looking

- jiang yanli/jin zixuan as chock/bates, this one had me cracked up ALL morning,,, nepotism babies, jyl as madison chock aka pretty and girlboss but CANNOT skate, jzx the stronger skater but simps for jyl. fans hate them for being overscored but nobody dares to say anything bc all their fave skaters ADORE jyl. diana davis energy tbh.

- yunmeng trio doing sbs axel jumps like yuzu with virtuemoir……..

- SIDENOTE that video of sasha trusova at rusnats jumping up and down and around diana davis before grabbing her for hugs is wwx with lwj.

- ON THAT NOTE, wq/wn as sui/han. just because i need wen ning to lift wwx like evan bates lifted yuzuru hanyu. lwj is seething with jealousy.

- nie huaisang as satoko miyahara. best costumes and performance and pcs but criminally underscored and overlooked. no da-ge i will NOT fix my jumps :)

- wwx and nhs doing kaori and mai’s besties programme…….

- i actually have a whole plot for this already fully formed PLEASE i don’t know what to do with it???? i’m driving myself INSANE

- i don’t know even know if writing it would be worth it because i don’t know if i can convey the pure emotion that comes with WATCHING skating and attaching my affection for these characters TO such a moment

- like bro imagine wwx hitting that long spiral. like. with the lights. the music beats. i don’t know how to explain this i’m HYSTERICAL. i could supply gifs but it would not convey the experience.

favorite thing about the group (pls i could literally write an essay 😭) sb described them as hella loud but down-to-earth at the same time and that sums them up perfectly. i have fun watching any content with them and they're the only group with whom i for real keep up with constantly (i mean i save videos to watch later usually and watch them when i'm having a bad day). it's hard to put into words what they mean to me bc it's been an immense comfort to watch their videos and listen to their music (i discovered them when i was stuck at home with my neck injury and in pain every day and also covid had just started.. fun times lmao). and idk how they keep making music that always feels fresh and new but still very very Them?? (also with three of the members writing more and more of the songs i think/hope there's little chance of their discography to become stale). their music is literally custom made for my brain it's like a drug i need to feel normal. and it's not like i *know* them but in general they do seem very..... down-to-earth and their banter doesn't seem artificial ever iykwim?? i think their relationship with the fans is very special and cheesy but actually rly cute mfdgdhfgkd. this is stuff that has stuck out to me bc i think it's not easy to pass my vibe check for celebrities lmao i do trust my gut bc im usually right irl. each of them is so special and has their own things going for them and i could write a paragraph for each f them but i won’t (please watch and admire my self-restraint) IN CONCLUSION: they're a chaotic comfort to me <3

Because we’re forever baby

Finally, time to unleash this DNA compilation post after shedding tears trying to find everything and put them in chronological order. You can inform me if there are inaccuracies or any performances missed out (although most likely I’ll never be able to edit this post anymore by then...) They've been performing DNA since Sep 2017 and there are just so many moments in each performance, this is as rewarding as it was torturous to compile.

(For those who were waiting for Jin to post on Tae’s birthday, you can maybe consider this a tiny bit of consolation from a fellow Taejinnie 😂)

Disclaimer: Regard this as a compilation post of all DNA performances, all dates listed are the days they actually performed DNA, hopefully there aren’t major mistakes. All comments are purely mine and are for entertainment purposes only.

18 Sep 2017 - DNA MV

On this date, the MV was first released. They recorded a Bangtan bomb of their reaction to the MV which was released later on (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mJ5JZNQZz0). If you looked carefully at the MV, that part of the choreography where they face each other, they had already begun 'playing' so this started right off the bat and as you know, has become their tradition to fool around whenever they perform DNA.

19 Sep 2017 - Comeback show for DNA

Finally we arrive to this moment in DNA history which served as the rabbit hole for not only me, but for countless other Taejinnies.

First of all, this is not a concert but an award show. Second, the stage set so that the audience is surrounding them, front, side and back, which means he wanted people to see this. Third, he made eye contact with a fansite, which means it's completely intentional. Fourth, the intensity and force with which he grabbed Tae into a hug, Tae actually bounced a little from the impact before he's tightly held in place by Jin. At just one glance, it seems like a cute playful hug. Until you replay it and notice that Jin melds his front to Tae's back completely from their heads to their hips (if you get what I mean) and Tae's laughter goes from sweet, over the moon kind because this is a romantic moment to the amused kind because Jin is completely pressed up against his back.

Of course, that does not take away the significance and the impact of this hug, which I don't know exactly what it is. It's sweet, romantic, playful, cute, naughty all rolled into one. Jin definitely intended to prove a point, maybe he's saying "mine" or maybe he was just feeling extremely bold and he knows Tae enjoys these sort of unexpected public displays of affection. I don't know the context but whatever it was, it most definitely grabbed people's attention and 'forced' people to look. Also probably why some perceive this as simple fanservice.

Incidentally, this is the same award show in which Tae was crowned as the most handsome man in the world, announced by non other than his Wooga gang member Park Hyun Shik. I don't know and don't claim that this and the hug is related or is it just coincidental, but just putting this nugget of into out here.

Most importantly Tae looked like he had the time of his life, elated by Jin's sudden show of physical affection or possessiveness, whichever it was. I categorize the impact of this hug as the same as in BV1, sweet, random, non-platonic and is triggered by an unknown motive.

18- 23 Apr 2018 Japan Official Fanmeeting Vol. 4 Happy ever after

From hours of research, I've learned that Japan fancams are incredibly hard to find and maybe don't exist because of how strict their rules are during concerts, so I don't know which moments happened on which dates. But these 6 dates were held in Tokyo, followed by Osaka. I don't recall seeing any fansite photos of Jin leaning on Tae's shoulders, unless it's referring to the moment below. If not, then maybe it's a moment not captured by any cameras and serves only the eyes of those who attended the concert.

A little bit of commentary about this particular moment. That hand sliding up Tae's arm, pulling him into a sweet hug, them whispering "forever" to each other, and Tae's grin. Tae who usually spices it up right back, returning the favor but now he's so compliant, a good boy, basking in Jin's public display of affections.

What was the reason? Claiming his forever in front of their precious fans- he's really a romantic boy. Additionally, this is the first time he's done something like this at this part of the choreo, which makes it extra special because unlike Tae who's more spontaneous, he probably planned or had calculated this in his mind a little in advance. At least that's what I think.

I just love how they don’t get sick of fooling around with each other no matter how many times they do this routine. 9 out of 10 times they make it a point to look at each other and laugh. It’s pretty clear the both of them actually look forward to it. I myself didn’t get bored going through their fancams because Taehyung is always so happy when they play around. So many dates and I sort of can't believe I watched all of them. Their DNA moments miraculously return in Paris. What a coincidence, the city that Tae has been mentioning and the place he wants to go on a trip with Jin.

Jin looks at Tae for a long time; probably thinking about how he should do whatever he’s thinking of doing. He grabs Tae’s sleeve, pulls him in closer and sings his line emphasising the lyrics “... baby...” directly facing him. Tae is clearly startled, looks at him but immediately accepts and leans into him enjoying the rare PDA and attention. (And the way Jin grabbed him is really hot).

Interestingly, Jin chose to do this on the day they’re in Paris while particularly singing “don’t regret it, baby. Because we’re forever” to Tae. They’ve been fooling around forever in DNA, and when the moments gradually die down, Jin does something grand again, which makes it all the more special. Jin is really good at being romantic, and this is probably just scratching the surface. And you will see how significant this moment really is because there will be no DNA moments again for the next few tour dates. It very clearly catches Tae and all the others off guard, he couldn’t control his grin afterwards and he’s still relishing in the sudden moment. J-Hope and Yoongi sees what he did in the monitor and he has a rather unreadable expression on his face. Is that a smile at the unexpected?

That gaze at Tae? Oof. It's one of his really rare expressions that only Tae can pull out and also the reason why I see Jin as 'wolf'-ish. The only other time I can remember him making this face is that episode of Run when they acted out a skit.

Tae is on cloud nine for the rest of the song. It sort of gives me the same vibes as the SMA DNA backhug, where Jin executed his plans and got the same reaction out of him. A pretty chaotic and bold and grand love confession, if you ask me, it’s very Jin. He knows how to make his man happy.

When I first started this post, MOTS ON:E wasn't even announced yet. (Yes that's how far back I procrastinated). So I thought this was the finale and Tae chooses to end it with flair. Photo vomit because this is the moment all BTS fansites present in the crowd became Taejin focused.

Okay, now for a little word vomit. The only word I can describe this moment: Magical. Thank goodness for fancams, because we can see Tae smirking as he's probably brewing this whole thing up in his mind halfway through the song and then he turns back and resolutely executes it. I know I don't need to even describe it but it is so beautiful, it's obvious that Jin was as startled as any of us.

There are plenty of suggestions that Tae was trying to mimic the pose of the movie he loves so much, CMBYN, and I don't deny it does look like that, it's just that his eyes are so intense and seems impromptu enough that while he faced Jin in that few seconds he might have looked like he intended to kiss instead. Which is what Jin's reaction looks like.

Jin- I am so weak for Tae's reflection that you can see in his eyes. He reacts fast, as usual he lets Tae get away with everything, his hands don't even budge and his body doesn't even try to block or push or panic. He's just bending backwards, Tae's hips are fully leaning on his so if he moved rashly Tae the both of them might have toppled together. He's letting Tae do whatever he wants but with just enough caution to make sure they don't accidentally end up kissing. Not that I would have minded if they did, but either way, it's devastating when you see Tae's expression when he's nestled in Jin's chest for those few seconds. He looks like he's at peace and at 'home'.

This is an optimistic take, but maybe the 9 words ahead of the ellipsis in the final few Spade riddles are the "nine that sit in [the Ides of March's] view." I had never thought to count the words before, thanks @chickawah23!

Those riddles were sent in June, which was 9 months ago. Maybe the first 9 words/letters ("THEY ARE FR") indicate 1 month each. Which takes us to this month, March, and coincides with the Ides of March.

Reminder: The Ides of March was the date Caesar was assassinated in 44 BC. (By the way, Kayda currently has 44 posts on her insta.) The Ides were also a deadline for settling debts... which kind of sounds to me like a day for getting even/getting back at the people who have wronged you.

Taylor put "Et tu, Brute?" in the LWYMMD music video. That's a line made famous by Shakespeare's play, Julius Caesar. Let me draw some parallels between the play and Taylor's life.

In the play: Caesar and Brutus are friends/friendly. A group of conspirators convinces Brutus to help them assassinate Caesar for the good of Rome-- they're afraid he'll become too powerful. Brutus eventually agrees to help. The Ides of March come and the conspirators stab Caesar 23 times. The final blow comes from Brutus, and in the play, Caesar says, "Et tu, Brute?" meaning, "And you, Brutus?" Someone he trusted turned against him and delivered the final blow.

After Caesar's death, his reputation actually improves as people remember the good things he did for them. The assassins are driven out of town. Brutus is visited by Caesar's ghost one night, who tells him, "I'll see you at Phillipi." Meaning, Brutus will be defeated at the battle of Phillipi. This ends up being true-- Brutus is defeated and dies by suicide.

In real life: I'm thinking Taylor is Caesar and maybe Brutus represents SB2? Taylor gets stabbed in the back by Sc*tt, who she trusted. She's dead. "You had to kill me, but it killed you just the same." Taylor is redeemed after her "death" and SB2 are pretty widely hated.

But Taylor is still haunting SB2... taunting them about their upcoming defeat. "You know I didn't want to have to haunt you / But what a ghostly scene." "If I'm on fire, you'll be made of ashes too." "I rose up from the dead, I do it all the time." "They strike to kill and you know I will."

This leads us to the battle, which is another metaphor Taylor uses. "So yeah, it's a war, it's the goddamn fight of my life..." Maybe Taylor herself doesn't win the war, but neither of the SBs win either. And after they're defeated, well... "You'll poke that bear till her claws come out / Then you'll find something to wrap your noose around." (Figuratively, in case that's not clear.)

Long story short, Monday is the Ides. It's 9 months and a few days after the "..." riddle. Optimistically, maybe SB2 will see some karma next week. Maybe the previous nine months were the worst of it, and now that we're through it... well, there are only two letters/words left after the ellipsis. Maybe in the next couple of months, everyone will be exonerated. Which takes us to June, Pride month, when THEY ARE FREE is completed.

In the full riddle, the "…🖤." could mean something is over in May and the "..." means we had to wait-- the riddle was foreshadowing. The black heart was sent on May 31, 2020. And if you assume the "..." is the month of March, "Revolution" is February, "Fervent" is January, and so on, the black heart is May.

So my interpretation is that the full riddle means, "Something ends on May 31, 2021. Then THEY ARE FREE." Possibly April and May will be easier to "see through" than the prior 9 months? Then freedom in June? I hope so.

Introduction/Get to know Me!

Hello ya'll I'm Radish Dweeb, here's an intro to my kpop opinions. I currently stan 5 groups and am getting into one (txt). Here is a ranking of my 5 ult groups (Mamamoo, Red Velvet, Oneus, Dreamcatcher, Brown Eyed Girls) with my bias, favorite album, and favorite song.

5. Brown Eyed Girls

Oh my lord this group is just amazing, stage presence queens. I feel really bad for the kpop mold, the number of times beg has broken it is ridiculous.

Bias: Miryo possibly my favorite kpop rapper of all time. She just brings so much energy to every rap and has incredible flow. adjfaldjf amazing.

Favorite album: Sixth Sense. The grove in this album. Vendetta, Swing it Shorty, and the Sixth Sense are so good.

4. Dreamcatcher

I used to think girl groups in kpop just did cute concepts, boy was a wrong. The moment I heard the guitar riffts in Piri, I feel in love with this group.

Bias: Dami or Siyeon I can'd decide. Dami has the amazing rap delivery, but Siyeon has them beautiful high notes.

Favorite Album: Dystopia: the tree of language. This album is my favorite for the lamest reason, it's the longest!!! In every Dreamcatcher ep I always have one or two songs I just ADORE. (Wonderland, I Miss You, Silent Night, Sleep Walking ect;) but Dystopia has so many songs that just let me bask in Dreamcatcher. Black and White, In the Frozen, and Red Sun (the rapppppppp) are just great.

Favorite song: Piri. I actually first saw the music video to this song during a really hard time in my life, and it brought so much comfort to me. I was hooked within the first 2 seconds of the video. 3. Oneus

Stage masters with one of my favorite group dynamics and an increible concept to boot.

Bias: While Hwangwoon looks like water on stage and constantly overflows with confidence (he's my bias wrecker), I gotta give this one to Keonhee. His clear tones are amazing, and really stand out during ballads (Blue Sky is my favorite example of this). Also the guy is a goofball with amazing reactions.

Favorite album: Raise Us. We have Twilight, White Night (beautiful song), the meme that is English Girl, and my favorite song Now. Just amazing.

Favorite song: This is a cruel question I've given myself. While I can't say my favorite song, here are my top five favorites (not ordered)

1. Valkyrie: got me into Oneus. Amazing just amazing

2. White night: The "I can love you in the dark" has made me almost cry

3. Now: The chorus is a bop.

4. Blue Sky: Amazing ballad, the live version of this song made Keonhee my bias.

5. A Song Written Easily: In It's time is just a great single/ep (it also has Hide and Seek which is great)

2. Red Velvet

Welcome to the group that made my obsessed with kpop. It all started out with me watching Russian Roulette, and being shocked when I saw chick got pushed into an empty pool (rip Yeri). 5 watches later, I found Peakaboo, Red Flavor, and the gorgeous video that is Bad Boy (keep in mind this was my first girl crush music video, so I was blown away). The rest is history.

Bias: Wendy. She's just such a good person, there are compilations of her caring for members, comforting them, and even stopping in the middle of a sidewalk to put litter in the recycling bin. Wow, she is wholesome. Also, her voice is amazing. Her high note in Bing Bing, adlibs in Psycho (damn you SBS), and her voice in Cool Hot Sweet Love make me break out in a grin every time.

Favorite album: This is very difficult. My favorite comeback has to be Psycho (again, damn you SBS) with its stellar music video and the bside that is In and Out, but it only has 4 songs. I'm going to have to go with The Red for my favorite album. We get Oh Boy (Wendy's vocalsssssss ahhhhh), Red Dress, and Ladies Room which are all amazing. The variety in this album is just overall really great.

Favorite Song: Cool Hot Sweet Love. The climax of this song with the layered vocals of "we gotta cool cool cool, hot sweet love" is legitimately one of the most beautiful things I've heard. ReVeluv for life.

1. MAMAMOO

How do I even start to describe this group. MAMAMOO holds a special place in my heart, and I am so lucky to be graced with their amazing vocals.

Bias: Okay MAMAMOO has my favorite kpop group dynamic of all time. They bring such a fun presence to their stages and are so relaxed with each other during variety shows. They feel like genuine friends and I love it. Unfortunately, my love of MAMAMOO makes it *very* hard for me to choose a bias. My current bias is Wheein. Her voice is the backbone of MAMAMOO and has this gorgeous healing aspect to it. She has also talked about her mental health and publicly supported the LGBT community (which I am a part of) while just being a great person. I also love love love Hwasa (queen), Moonbyul, and Solar, but Wheein is something special

Favorite album: This is very close between Melting and Yellow Flower. While Yellow Flower has my favorite solo song ever (Hwasa's solo Be Calm) and the bop that is Rude Boy, Melting is incredible. Everything from 1cm (the offical Wheein diss track), Friday Night, I Miss You, Cat Fight, and Just is pure gold.

Favorite song: While I do find Egotistic to be Mamamoo's best music video (Declomanie is a very close second) Just from Melting is my favorite song of theirs. Just has a really special place in my heart. The "I hate you" has legitimately made me cry. MAMAMOO is a group I stand with my entire being.
