I know I don't interact much but I wanted to say that I love your blog! You post great stuff about the show, and your ocs are a lot of fun! Do you mind sharing a few things about all your ocs? Hope you have a great day!

but uh

to answer your question, i can indeed give you some stuffs abt my ocs (though i won't go too much into detail bc i will eventually finish up my fanseason. then all shall be reveALED)

ofc my main gals are Yuuki and Mei Mitsukaru -- the "'karu sisters"

Yuuki is a sorceress in her early 20's who's the leader of a serpentine tribe of mages called the "haven rattlers." She's tender, charismatic, and a bit clingy. At some point she worked for Master Chen and trained in dark magic under Clouse. Her specialty magic is crystaline, and nowadays she tries to avoid dark magic at all costs. She is deeply smitten with Morro. (And vice versa!) ((covenwind / windchimeshipping)) She also has an owl familiar named Owlfonzo !!

Mei is Yuuki's little sister. She's a 10yr old sorceress and the new self-proclaimed queen of the Ghost Warriors. After extremely unfortunate chain of events, she was banished to the Cursed Realm, being separated from her sister and parents for about a decade (hence the age gap between the sisters). She's impulsive, sarcastic, and carefree spirit. She wields her grandmother's staff and is able to use it as a battleaxe using magic. Her specialty magic is nature, though she uses a dark variant. She absolutely despises Morro and would gladly throw him off a cliff.

The Haven Rattlers tend to just be bg charas, but there are a couple side charas that come into play. Veera and Crystal.

Veera is a young haven constrictai who is Yuuki's personal student in magic. She's about 10yrs old, and is about as calm and collected as ten yr olds come. Veera and Mei are eventually a thing. (dumb lesbian kiddo love) ((blossomshipping))

Crystal is an albino hypnobrai, and is Yuuki's advisor. When Yuuki isn't around, Crystal usually makes sure the island runs smoothly. Her specialty is water magic.

The Haven Dragon (AKA Sir Wigglybutt) is guardian of the former home of the HRs -- Old Haven. Though I mostly consider him Mei's weird flappy dog.

And then outside of the HRs and Karu family, we have Taiga and Madoka. I'll keep them a secret for now ;3c

Aaaand finally we have the next gens - Kieran and Tempest. I don't consider them fully "canon" but it is a concept I like to think about from time to time.

Tempest is Yuuki and Morro's daughter. She practices wind magic and is in her early 20's. She was next in line to be leader of the HRs but stepped down to join the next gen of ninja. She's a bit of the "older sister" of the group, and is a calm, snarky, and genuinely very loving person.

And finally we have Kieran - Yuuki and Morro's adopted serpentine son. He's a haven hypnobrai/venomari mix who consistently chips his right fang by some Mighty Act Of FSM. He's a college student, and is younger sibling to Tempest. He's extremely odd and eccentric, but he loves to make new friends. He will absolutely bring you hot cocoa on a cold day. He's a history nerd and also studies magic (though I haven't decided on a dominant magic type for him.)

yea i do warmup sketches but usually it’s just drawing whatever comes to mind until i feel sufficiently warmed up to try the idea i had in mind beforehand so that idea doesnt look shitty. i dont do any of those like “draw a curvy line ten times” or whatever

🙃 Which is easier: faces facing left, right, or front view?

varies between right and left depending on the day but usually both are easier than front

📚 How many layers do you typically use?

one for sketch, one or two for lineart, like 4 or 5 for color, one-ish for bg, and then whatever extra effects i wanna add on top, so that all comes out to like... 8-10 layers i guess. idk i dont feel like opening clip studio to check

Thank you for tagging me @ionica01​!! Totally unexpected but hey, I’m gonna have fun with this! :D 

So let us move on to the questions! ouo

1. Pen or pencil?

Both I guess? :’D I mean, I like pencil because it’s faster for me to write or doodle something, but I also like the pen because it’s more visible and permanent and I don’t have to sharpen it haha (after drawing inktobers for the whole month...)

2. Have you ever drawn your OCs?

Yes, I used to draw them a lot! Not as much these days tho... Which is sad considering I treat them as my own children and they are very close to my heart! ; u ; 

3. Does your writing ever make you cry?

It has never happened before but...you know...sometimes when I think of the things I want to put in the story for the plot make me all teary eyed - some of the stuff I want to write I had experienced before so... I guess you might count is as that? :’D

4. If your Muse was a person, what would they look like?

Oh wow, an interesting question! Hmmm... Usually my “Muse” as you call it, it doesn’t even feel like a person - more like a feeling, but if I were to describe it to you - sometimes my Muse looks like my ocs when I write my story and sometimes it looks like an excited kid, it really depends on what I’m writing/drawing/ thinking about!(and all of them  t a l k  to  m e), so yeah, definitely a funny feeling from time to time!

5. Which of your pieces would you choose to be remembered for?

Honestly? Any fragment of my story would be great, really (I want to finish at least with one book in my life!! ; u ;), because I put much work into writing (and constantly rewriting) it! It would also make me happy if someone remembered me for one of my poems, now that I think about it! 

6. How much have you written or worked on your WIP so far today?

I was waiting with this tag specifically to finally sit and write lmao I wrote 3 pages last night, which is a milestone, considering I had a very long writer block (could be), so I’m proud of myself for finally finishing writing that first chapter and I do like the way it turned out in the end!! :D

7. Have you ever based a piece (or a portion of a piece) on a dream?

I feel like I have, kind of, unconsciously! :’D I have so many weird dreams that it would be a shame not to use any, so I write them down sometimes as ideas for my story! 

8. Do you prefer silence, a little noise (music, ambient noise, fan etc) or a lot of noise when you are writing?

Music is my life, so it’s always there with whatever I’m doing really, especially when I’m writing/drawing! 

9. Do you have any routines before you sit down to write?

I don’t really think so...? When I tell myself “hey I’m gonna write now”, I just turn on the music that plays in the bg and we can call it a go! Should I mention I usually write at 1-2 am because that’s when everything I create turns out the best? :’D

10. Have you ever participated in a NaNoWriMo or a Camp?

Nope, never have! And I never heard of it and because I’m not as much of a writer, I’m gonna skip this question, if you don’t mind!

Hey, so.

My mom makes pony merch.  Mostly plushies but she’s branched out into stuff like scarves and the like.  All of her stuff is hand-embroidered, as we lack one of those fancy machine embroiderers.  So yeah, there’s a lot of work gone into these things.

This is all stuff left over from Bronycon.

The reason why I’m making this post is because we recently took our one vehicle into the repair shop, due to it having zero brakes and the brake line itself having busted.

We just got the quote back today.

It’s going to cost us $930 to fix it all.

So, we’re hoping we can sell some of this stuff to try to pay that off.

What a long year but i think i drew a lot compared to previous years :9

January (12imgs saved) - this was when i started taking art more seriously and aimed to get better at organization, but i think i was too busy cleaning rather than drawing lol February (7 imgs saved) (The least amount of drawings total!) - idk why i drew so little here? p sure i was just doing doodles and didn't bother to save but either way whoops lol March (44 imgs saved) - started saving doodles here, so that's why there's a sudden jump lol. drew mostly doodles, but i was having fun w/ people tbh April (77 imgs saved) - starting to feel like the amount of drawings in each month is getting unfair the more i type but well :P very talkative to my friends w/ the amount of doodles, but it was also the start where riko just took number 1 in my heart for a LONG while May (57 imgs saved) - looking at my folders i'm adfkasd bc this month started 1) idolborne au 2) tranboy!riko and 3) deggy + rarm i'm l aughin June (37 imgs saved) - uhhh?? not much notable, but i started talking to other people more so that was good lol. i think i started reading umnk this month (and took a while to finish ep 1) bc i made the connection abt riko and mari to battler and beato lol rip me July (34 igs saved) - looks like i played ddadds and  guild wars and watched kkss bc of the prominent pieces being abt them lol. also a few ocs saved here? i did like, ONE (1) speeddraw this month and i wanted to do more but i got self conscious and ran outta time lmao. i also read ogdz, i should draw more of that manga August (82 imgs saved) (The most amount of drawings total!) - yeah, i started taking requests and i?? didn't expect people to send me in requests/ prompts?? and i didn't expect to draw so much in just one month lmao. also i think i finished ep 1/ ep 2 of umnk bc i drew my reaction to it lmaoooo October (40 imgs saved) - okay i remember actually wanting to experiment more, in terms of like, poses, colours, lines, and the pen tools used, and ay i like it. i also started using grey as my bg colour (just like the tan i used last year lol) bc my eyes would get so tired easily. also, the start of the strike September (13 imgs saved) - WOW WHAT A DROP i was starting college and boy was it not a fun time. i drew the base in this month and that was when it was literally tmrw, and i was so depressed and anxious, i did not expect like almost 3k notes by now w/ people actually using too. i was v stressed trying to get used to college. also, i vaguely remember drawing the ll charas as sonic charas and. November (63 imgs saved) - huh, i expected more drawings here bc of the free time i had. but then lo and behold, i was binge reading all of umnk that it's almost all i have in the main month folder. i was really proud of that 4 image post tbh, it's my moth fave piece December (44 imgs saved) - and so we end off here and honestly, after school and shit i thought i wouldn’t draw a lot, but winter break totally helped. ..even though i was in an art slump and sorta felt my art plateau... but whatever, i’m thinking about improving drawing heads now so :P we’ll see in 2018

Hello I love your art and love the new kiribaku kids. I did research on mako sharks and it said "The shortfin mako is on record as the fastest-swimming shark, capable of bursts of speed up to 18.8 metres per second (42 mph)." Its jaw is powerful enough to eat swordfish and sea turtles. And "Like other lamnid sharks, the shortfin mako shark has a heat-exchange circulatory system that allows the shark to be 7-10 °F warmer than the surrounding water. ". So I think mako would be an excellent hero

Never said she won’t be! As I’ve already explained tho the concept is that she’s young and most of he quirk-related abilities just haven’t developed yet - if she’d been living with her biological parents (which means, other people with a shark quirk) they would have already known what to expect from the quirk/she would have knows watching them, but as things stand she’s being raised by two people who’ve never known anyone else with that quirk, so they’re going at it completely blind. As far as Bakugou and Kirishima know her quirk’s abilities could stop at what she has now, but that doesn’t change that they’ll do their best to help her become the best hero of her generation, if that’s what she wants

I know you didn’t mean anything bad by this and I love how into them you are (thank you for liking them!) but please never, ever tell an artist that their OCs are literally some other characters, that’s the worst thing any creator can ever be told. Like, while I don’t exactly mind it since I knew this would happen even before posting them (as I said, I do know they remind of them - even though Tai’s quirk isn’t only about heating things up - and I’m still of the opinion that Kiri and Baku are pretty damn similar to Sharkboy and Lavagirl themselves so kids inspired by them were bound to remind of them, when coming from me) you might in the future find someone who’ll take it bad enough that they’ll just trash the characters and never work with them ever again, which I’m sure you don’t want

She can’t! For two main reasons: the first, she uses gills to breathe underwater - at the sides of her ribcage - which means that there’s no air passing across her throat to make her vocal cords vibrate to produce sound. Technically she could probably find a way to switch between breathing systems just enough to make herself able to talk, but it requires a type of coordination she still doesn’t have. She tried, nearly drowned herself, Kirishima freaked the fuck out and forbid her to try again at least until she’s ten; the second reason is that as far as I get it sharks don’t actually make noises underwater, which is why she can’t naturally talk while submerged and needs to switch between breathing systems for it to work~

hey i’m looking to get into a role play but i’ve never done it before so do you have any recommendations on how to start, how to roleplay, etc??

aw man, uhhh… well, I got some wc ones! Land of the Lost is currently accepting, a new reboot of Clans of the Shoshone, Falling Leaves (for Pack and Clan), and Left in Lesdin’s gonna be opening soon! 

for how to start, I def recommend creating a character you want to rp - you want one that you can connect to, and can rp often. I’ve created characters on a whim multiple times before, which… wasn’t great bc I ended up abandoning them basically which was just a mess dfjhfdh

start with a design, name, and a base personality, but give yourself room for them to grow!! if you have any ideas in mind with them, definitely talk to a mod if you’re in a group rp, like the ones I listed. you can talk to others to set up relationships, or just rp and build them from there! you can be vague with family and bg, or go all out! tho it def depends on what the rp has going on, bc you may want to add bg events to their bio o: also there’s normally a bio format posted with each rp, so you don’t need to worry about setting one up!

also, bc apps are through google docs, I highly recommend saving any oc info you make bc I keep forgetting to do that and I immediately forget what I wrote dsfhjfdsh

with rping in general, it’s gonna depend on the rp! usually the ones I’m in are more literate, which asks for at least a paragraph reply, but it’s not always the case! also, you don’t have to be a writer to rp! it may be awkward at first, but it definitely gets easier as you rp more and more - I’ll give an example at the end!

oh! I can’t believe I forgot this, but reading the rules is highly important! please read them and make sure you follow them

outside of discord, I have no idea ahah - I know there are a lot of forum rps out there, and it’s been a few years since I’ve used the forums on fanfiction net so idk if those are even still active ahah

tumblr rp has changed a lot - before, all you had to do was set up a blog (side or main - I prefer main bc it’s easier to follow other rp blogs and get recognized), and either rp as a canon character or an oc! ofc they don’t need to be a fandom oc, they can just be an og one!

but for tumblr rp, you def gotta think of a solid character bg if an oc (fandom or not) bc it’s easier for everyone when other muns can look and see who your character is. I def recommend setting up a rule page, so that way you can explain what stuff you want to avoid (for me was nsfw stuff mostly), or stuff you’re fine with (a lot of people would mention age ranges they were comfortable with when it came to other muns - like there were a few rp blogs that would only interact with people 18+ or 21+, which was a good thing tbh)

it’s def been a hot minute since I’ve rped on here, but when you make an oc to rp, this is where it gets hella important to make sure you can connect with them - I ended up ditching a lot of blogs bc I lost muse, and it’s a bummer tbh, but it does happen. also idk if rping is still active here or not? bc last I check the marvel rp tag it was just. ads for group rps and idk if they’re tumblr based anymore

anyway, tumblr rping is def gonna be harder! just bc it’s hard to get off the ground at the beginning, and it’s just… idk, weird? some people won’t respond to you and things get lost and it can become a mess, but at the same time, it can be a lot of fun! it just really depends on how you handle stuff and how active you are really

The pale queen had arrived shortly after Aspenstar and Jaggedstripe settled Badgerwing’s body down in the flowers. She would’ve been with them, matching their steps stride by stride, but she had to check on her kits before she left. She had seen how frightened they were with the thunder alone, and she couldn’t imagine the confusion the little ones must’ve felt when their Clanmates began to panic at the death before Aspenstar soothed them. They were far too young to understand death, and she could only pray that it wouldn’t affect them. And despite how collected she had seemed back in camp, it was clear the deputy’s death had was not taken lightly - her steps were slow, her eyes misted with grief.

 A shaky breath escaped her jaws as Mistfang slowed to a stop beside her gathered Clanmates, the air thick with grief and tension. Finchpaw spoke, then Grasspelt. Jaggedstripe stepped toward Badgerwing next, but it was clear she was in too much pain to speak. But… as she gazed around at the others, her throat tightened with grief. Was no one else going to speak? Bluestone remained silent. Hootnose was silent as well, his gaze averted, and it was clear he wished to be anywhere but there. She just hoped their silence wasn’t from hostility - from them still holding a grudge for her leaving them for so long.

With a shake of her head, the molly slowly stepped forward, leaning down to rasp her tongue over Badgerwing’s head. “You were larger than life,” she said at last, her voice soft as ever. “You helped us each in your own way, and I feel my words can never be enough to explain my gratitude. You saved my life, and helped me with my kits. I can’t thank you enough for everything you have done. I hope you find comfort in StarClan, and I wish you all the best.”

It was shorter than she would’ve liked, but Mistfang hadn’t been close to Badgerwing - not as much as she would’ve liked. But regrets were useless, and she knew the dangers of getting lost in the what-ifs. As long as the deputy was safe in StarClan, free of any pain and of any troubles, then she knew it would be okay. It had to be. 

Slowly, Mistfang took a few steps back, head bowed as she sat down.

500 FOLLOWER CELEBRATION

so! very soon i will be hitting FIVE HUNDRED FOLLOWERS. (right now i’m at 436, and i tend to get 5+ with every update and sometimes a few in-between.) i can't thank you guys enough for this - your faith in me while i am still such a new comic is humbling and inspiring, and i hope i can draw you a story worth the wait. thank you so, so much.

i promised awhile back i'd do something nifty for 500, and since i'm doing it for you guys, i thought i'd let you pick the event!

the three ideas i had were:

a request stream. downside: since i'm a slow artist, i wouldn't get to very many, and not everybody wants to make a twitch account. but maybe i could just sketch the request in stream, and throw some doodle-style lines/colors on it later :D upside: many "winners" so to speak, as long as they were willing to make a twitch account, especially if i did a stream as long as my usual thursday ones (which are usually 6-8 hours). in addition, these prizes would be awarded almost INSTANTLY, whereas any prizes from a giveaway (see below...) might take me some time to complete, especially if there’s a lot of winners. 

temporary ask blog. for a to-be-determined period of time or number of asks, this blog would temporarily become an ask blog, and you could ask the characters of REFUSE anything you liked! of course i wouldn’t be able to spoil anything about the plot directly or get to every ask, but ask blogs have always looked like a lot of fun to me (but something i don’t have time for...) so i think it’d be pretty neat. downside: my plot hasn’t advanced too far yet, but upside: it’s got some really heavy backstory that clever questions might dole out some hints for.

a giveaway, probably with a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner. kudos to @bunnikkila for helping me brainstorm some of these potential prize ideas:

an undertale fanmix - considering the ~700 mixes i have sitting on my hard drive, that'd be pretty easy. i could do a themed one (examples: 1 2 3) or a one-track mix (multiple remixes of the same track - examples: 1 2 3). these would come complete with the very simple “sprite art” you see as these covers.

a custom undertale human child sprite (examples: 1 2 3) (i can’t do teens/adults, sadly, since i need a base to work off of) or other sprite manipulation (examples: 1 2). i can’t make a sprite from scratch but i could alter any sprite in the game!

a sketch/doodle/scribble thing of any undertale character(s), including OCs (examples: 1 2)

a physical copy of a sketch/drawing of any undertale character or OC. i don’t have the means to color art traditionally, so it would be without color, but i would mail it to your house! (this assuming you don’t mind giving me your address)

i could color your lines - i do collabs with friends, and what happens is they draw the lines and i pour on the colors/shading and sometimes the background as well. (examples: 1 2) so if you’re the type who likes drawing but not coloring, i could color one for you! upside: i could do this for literally any drawing, not just undertale-related stuff.

a full illustration of any undertale-related thing, whether you want scenery or a poster or whatever (examples: 1 2 3 4 5)

fic! i am a writer and have TONS more writing experience than drawing experience. only problem is i'm a little picky about what prompts i'd accept, so i don't know if that would make it too much of a hassle to be a good prize. i’d definitely be willing to chat it out with whoever won, though. if you’d like check out my writing to see an example, my AO3 is here, but unfortunately i don’t have any undertale fic up and some of what’s at this link is VERY NSFW, so minors, please skip it!

a little 1-3 pg minicomic (if that was the case, this would probably have to be the ONLY prize, bc i'm already really really busy and it would take quite a bit of time - no example needed here, you guys already know what my comic pages look like lol)

a cameo in the comic with the character of your choice, be it your original character or a character from another work. if i did this though i would be very tricky - for instance there could be no humans, because this entire story takes place before the monsters meet them. also, i probably won’t get to any random bg characters for quite awhile so the prize-winner would have a long wait lol

another possibility is dividing ALL of these prizes up into tiers and letting the winner choose their own prize from the list (first place winner can choose an illustration OR getting their lines colored, second place winner could choose a doodle OR a sprite, etc), the upside to tiers is i could offer more extravagant prizes and more winners for more notes - should the giveaway post only get a few, i’d be okay doing simple prizes, but if there was a lot of interest i could potentially offer something like the mini-comic ALONGSIDE other prizes. i actually like this idea quite a lot (along with the idea of getting your name put in the proverbial jar more times for doing things like reccing the comic or drawing art for it), but i’m worried that it might be needlessly complicated or confuse someone and lol i don’t want to be confusing!!

anyway, since this is for YOU GUYS, i’ve decided to set up two polls to let all of you decide - one to say whether you’d prefer a request stream, an ask blog, or a giveaway, and another to see what types of giveaway prizes everyone likes the best (you can choose multiple answers for this one, otherwise everyone would easily pick a nicer prize over the little ones hahaha). these will stay open until a day or so after we hit 500 followers - which could be a few weeks from now - so you should have PLENTY of time to mull it over and make your choices. i’ll warn you before they close. (or you could speed it up by reblogging more comic pages >D after all, the more people who see it the more likely i am to get new followers!)

final last note: whatever i wind up doing for the giveaway, my basic rules are: AUs, undertale OCs, gore, canon ships = OK! non-canon ships, character-bashing (this includes yandere murder-loving chara), NSFW, or frisk and chara as boys or girls = NOT OK. also, of course, only followers would be eligible to win! just stuff to keep in mind when you’re voting.

Diana and Alistair in 1,2,3,6,8,18,20,21,23,25,30,33,38,37,40,41(pretty please)

Sorry for taking so long. This was a big list and I wanted to make sure I answered everything correctly. (Link to the prompt)

1. Fav color?

Diana -  periwinkle, it’s the perfect combination between her other two favorite colors, blue and pink. Alistair - orange, it reminds him of the sun setting and rising; he finds that really relaxing to watch..

2. Does your OC collect anything?

Diana - she sometimes collects crystals. They grow all around the kingdom she lives in. Some act as elements for spells and supernatural powers. Alistair - around the winter time, he’ll collect whatever he can that can provide him warmth, otherwise he’d be stuck with nothing but the clothes on his back.

3. Allergies? Honestly, neither are allergic to anything. Being a magical being, Diana doesn’t get sick too often, and Alistair has a pretty good immune system himself.

6. Favorite animal? least favorite animal? In the monster world, there are some monsters that act like pets and wild animals, so I’ll use those instead, as there aren’t any animals you’d find on Earth in that world.

Neither Diana or Alistair have a favorite “animal”, but they do have a least favorite.

Diana - there’s a creature called a Narx that’s like a large rat about the size of a small dog (this was also an earlier character, but now they’ll be a minor character later in the story). They rummage through garbage and live mostly in urban areas. Like most monsters, she sees them as pests, but would never try to hurt them, especially if they haven’t done anything to her.

Alistair - I won’t say this is his least favorite, but he has had bad experiences with them, Ogrehunds (i.e. Victoria’s pet, Princess). It’s the really big ones he dislikes because they can be the most aggressive and territorial.

8. OC’s theme song? I’d like to use video game BG music to answer this (I have other ideas, but this helped narrowed my choices down).

18. Greatest fears? Strengths? Weaknesses?

Diana - greatest fear, being trapped in an endless black void; extreme darkness really unsettles her. Greatest strength, communication skills. She’s a very social creature with a lot of other monsters on her side, and not just because she’s a well know queen. She’s also given the community copious amounts of sincerity and solicitude. Her greatest weakness would be her emotions. She’s got a lot of passion in her, and that can lead to her making some impulsive decisions and reactions.

Alistair - greatest fear, needles or getting a shot; never liked them as a kid and doesn’t like them now. Greatest strength, his agility; he can think quick on his feet if he’s focused and can escape dangerous situations easily. Greatest weakness, sometimes his sympathy towards others; he’s prone to being fooled by people who pretend to be more pitiful than him.

20. If they came from their world to ours (if not already in our’s) how would they react? What would they do? Diana - she’d try her best to blend in with the human’s customs; she takes respecting other’s cultures very seriously. Then she’d politely ask the natives what they do normally in their free time, or what kind of social activities humans do. Alistair - he’d find humans really weird looking. He’s be baffled by the lack of claws, fur, scales, wings, etc. The first thing he’d do is look for food, might even go up to a human directly and ask them where he could get something to eat. Then he’d find a nice alley to rest at.

21. What personal problems/issues do they have? Pet peeves?

Diana - personal issues, she longs for a soulmate; her father wants her to be with someone that’s the same species of her, but same species relationships don’t matter to her. Pet peeves, when people call her a princess instead of a queen. It’s one thing when it’s an accident, but when people call her that in a condescending way, that’s when it gets her annoyed.

Alistair - personal issues, a lot of people judge him for his reckless behavior, and he uses that as an excuse for expressing himself. He hates admitting it, but sometimes that behavior of his does more harm than good. Pet peeves, when people call him reckless solely because he’s a Ghoul.

23. Random fact about OC?

Diana - she doesn’t eat meat of any kind, excluding insects and spiders, which she rarely eats anyway. A Beelzebats diet consists of mostly of fruits and vegetables.

Alistair - sometimes tiny creatures will crawl in his hair and make themselves at home — and he won’t even notice! He’ll even eat them if he gets hungry.

25. What inspired you to create them / how did you create them? Were they originally a fan character? What was their personality / design like when you first made them?

Diana - well she’s based off some fan art of a character that belonged to someone else, then I wanted to make a character a bit similar to that character I drew. After that, she kind of spun into something a little more original. I wanted her to be a pop star queen who had a very seductive personality. She was a little bit skinnier too, but now I like drawing her a little plump and voluptuous.

Alistair - he was inspired by an old OC of mine that was created about a year before I came up with Never Normal. When I decided to put him in the story, he had Henrik’s role, a waiter at a monster themed restaurant/bar (Henrik was not imagined at that time, btw). After some development, I gave him a bigger role, and he became Pip’s “guardian angel”. His appearance was more human like and he was barely a monster. Originally he was an undead person, a human that was killed in the monster world and brought back to life. I made him a monster afterwards. As for his personality, he was more gentleman like, and much wiser in the past.

30. Do they want to get married? Why or why not? Would they ever want kids? Do they have kids? Why?

Diana - she’d most definitely want to get married and start a family of her own. She loves kids and hopes be a mother one day.

Alistair - he wouldn’t mind getting married, but he’s not too sure about having kids. It’s not that he hates kids, he just doesn’t like all that responsibility put on him.

33. Would they ever kill someone? What would someone have to do to push them to kill someone? If they would kill someone, why?

Diana would try her best to avoid killing any living creature, but if they were to post any threat to the monsters in her kingdom, she would do whatever it takes to protect them.

Alistair, on the other hand, wouldn’t hesitate to kill someone that threatened to hurt the ones he cared about. When he fights back, he fights back hard, and Ghouls can be deadly if they fight too viciously.

37. What’s something that your character does, that other people don’t normally do? Being nocturnal, Diana sleeps during the day and wakes up when dusk arrives. Alistair loves high places and will sometimes climb up buildings in the city just for fun or to relieve stress.

38. What would your character do with a million dollars? Diana would most likely donate it to someone who needs it; she’s already pretty wealthy herself. Alistair would use it to find himself a home, then save most of it for later.

40. Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where are they going? What do they wear? Who will they be with?

Diana - if she were going somewhere fancy and on a date, she’s wear something classy and formal. If she went to a nightclub, she’d most likely go in her usual purple dress with a few accessories. Her clothes have to be custom made because she’s one of the more larger monsters, and not a lot of stores have her size. She doesn’t have many “close” friends, but there’s almost always a small group of monsters hanging out with her when she’s out and about.

Alistair - he’ll never dress fancy for anything, and will most likely be late for the occasion. He goes to a lot of places alone and not too many monsters would volunteer to go out with him. He’d prefer a night out somewhere outside; interiors have strange smells that he has a hard time getting used to and it only makes him anxious and distracted.

41. What does your character do when they’re angry? Why? 

When Diana gets really angry, her emotions can make her telekinetic powers go haywire. Stuff will fly around, break, and even explode.

Alistair doesn’t get all that angry unless he’s defensive about something. he can go from totally calm to rage within seconds. His appearance changes as well; his eyes will change colors, his teeth will get longer, and will behave much more savage like. This is a natural trait for Ghouls though, but he’s capable of maintaining self control since he was raised outside his natural habitat.
