do you think shauna learned that cells turn over completely in seven years thing in high school biology and latched onto it and had an existential crisis meltdown of nuclear proportions when it was coming up on seven years since she’d consumed jackie because none of the cells in her body were born out of the energy she got from jackie’s flesh anymore?

“…then I will carry your weight, look here's my name, burden me.”
That sentence right there. Like oh my god!!! Makes me want to ugly cry because I’m so damn sure that Witch has been by herself for bit. Whenever you write about her she’s always by herself in her home and that’s not a bad thing but I wonder if she feels lonely.
Plus! Generations of magic all crammed into her and I just know she feels burdened by it to some degree. Burdened to preform perfectly. Burdened to be the best. Burdened with the weight of your family legacy. Then here comes John waltzing in and pretty much saying “I’ll carry it with you.”
And I jus-
AAAAAHHHHHHHH
I love him and I love Witch. Like please, y’all stop messing around and get married already❤️
Witch is such a deeply lonely character in my mind, and I try to show that when I write her. She's someone that's always taken care of others, but doesn't have anything to really show for it. She's alone in her family home despite the fact that her family is alive and well. She doesn't know how to entertain guests, only how to serve clients. She has very few friends. Very few people she can trust, that she can lean on.
Witch is a character that, through necessity/divine intervention/personal inability, has always been alone. She's the oldest child, groomed as the successor to her family's magic, never quite fitting in with the normal humans of the world. Everything in her life revolves around magic, everything has a purpose, everything has to be perfect to manage the burden on her shoulders. Witch is cheerful, she's kind and charming, but I don't know if she's ever really... enjoyed life. I don't think she's ever seen herself as more than a vessel for her magic.
Price is the first person to ask her how she's doing. It's literally the first thing out of his mouth in their first post: "How's my pretty Witch doing today?" And I think as their relationship progresses he sort of realizes how much she needs someone to care for her, not just care about her. Plenty of people may care about the Witch but look at how self sufficient she is, she doesn't need anyone to care for her! And she is, she's perfectly able to take care of herself, but that doesn't mean she needs to. That doesn't mean Price is going to let her. Let him carry the weight, let him take some of the loneliness, let him ease the burden into something manageable, just for a little while, just until you fall asleep.
Anyway Witch is a deeply personal character to me, but also one that I hope others can relate to. I think we've all sat and felt the weight of the world on our shoulders, and wished there was someone we could share it with.

under the wings
1. Polly would always always always remember the feeling of falling asleep beneath Fledge's feathered wings.
2. She'd been curled up close to his side with his coverts over her shoulders like a shawl. His pinions had stretched past her to break the night winds. She'd leaned into the crook of his wing, feeling softness on her cheek. When she turned over in the night, feathers brushed her from all sides, whispering against her skin.
3. If Polly could have wished for one thing, at twelve, at twenty, at sixty, it would have been the same: to live in that memory. If she might, she never would have emerged from her place beneath Fledge's tawny wings.
4. She loved her smuggler's cave because it was safe and small and hers. She loved all kinds of nooks and closets, window seats and beds with curtains and covers she could crawl under.
5. Digory never understood it. He himself liked wide open space and covering skies. "It's the same concept though, I think," Polly remarked once. "There's something lovely about the feeling of being underneath."
6. Polly was even, unfathomably, rather partial to certain bomb shelters, though she'd never have admitted it. How pleasant it was to fall asleep underground, curled up in a corner wrapped in a blanket, safe in the knowledge that she was too far down for anything to hurt her.
7. (And when she wasn't in a shelter and the bombs fell anyway, she squeezed her eyes shut and pictured tawny feathers all round her.)
8. Digory wrote her letters and she wrote back. His were full of ditches in the ground and hers of shelters, but they both liked to write about lions and the sky.
9. After the first war, it was easy for a pretty lady to talk her way into flying lessons with one of the hundred wayward pilots left over from the fighting.
10. He was a mechanic by trade, and he didn't mind unconventional women; but he told Polly she had no business in a cockpit if she didn't know her way around an engine. So, two summers after the war ended, she spent her mornings smearing oil across her ruffled blouses and learning how to make things fly.
11. (She would have married him, if ever he'd asked her- but he never did, and maybe it was for the best.)
12. As the years wore past, Polly met other little girls with ribbons in their hair. She told them stories and she taught them her magic, and when they cried she brought them into her hiding places the same way she'd once done with Digory Kirke.
13. They called her Aunt Polly - both those children that she cared for interbellum, and the ones that came after.
14. Once, Polly dreamed that it had been her instead. Aslan told her, you will be the grandmother of all the angels, and feathered wings sprang from her back. Once, Polly dreamed that it had been her instead of Fledge.
15. (She woke with the feeling of feathers still clinging to her shoulders, itching.)
16. During the second war, she worked at an aerodrome. Occasionally she flew with the training crews, but mostly she'd go out onto the tarmac after the sirens were done and stand in the shadows of airplane wings.
17. When Digory told her about the wardrobe, Polly went to his estate, pulled out all the coats, and shut herself in. She didn't have any notions of getting back to Narnia that way-- but she did it all the same.
18. Jill and Eustace made her laugh: Eustace, who hated heights, and Jill, who panicked in small spaces. Oh Lord, thought Polly, save me from the irony. She loved them anyway.
19. In the end, she died in a train crash and opened her eyes to something like fragrant, golden feathers.
20. And suddeny, Polly understood. They're weren't really Fledge's wings at all, were they?

I rebloged a post talking about how fucked up it is that a lot of people think of Nami as the mother of the strawhats and i mentioned how the same thing happens to Robin, so i wanna talk about how they are the SILLIEST OF ALL SILLY PEOPLE that exist. Silly queen and silly princess, these two are comanding the whole community of silly folks around the world. Robin has a serious and mysterious aura and personality sure, but underneath all that? A complete clown. Her humor is just different and darker than most people, but there is a reason why Luffy and Robin undertand each other so well. I wish Robin had a comedy show because i ADORE her jokes and dark humor (she is just like me fr) and would pass hours hearing her telling it. I hc that Brook loves that kind of humor, so they pass hours just sharing jokes. I don't even need to talk about Nami because have you looked at her? But i will anyway. She may look all tough and all to outsiders, but just looking at the way she interacts with the crew you can see it's just an act, definitely a form of protecting herself that she found while growing up fearing Arlong. With her family she can be carefree, no fear of judgment or feeling impotent, she can let free all the happiness she held back all those years.

something re: the Gideon -> Kiriona evolution that is perhaps not the most important (esp on the scale of other things) but that i keep feeling fairly fixated on is that Gideon hated the Lyctor Aesthetic (”like Silas Oktakisseron threw up in the glitter drawer”) and she is so valid for that but now she’s dressed like “the military wing of disco”. and on a personal level i think her new look is incredibly sexy BUT i cannot help but fixate on how this is now the third outfit she has worn that is not really something she would have chosen for herself (cavalier skull paint, harrow’s body, military disco). and she only gets three outfits in the whole series anyway!!
something something abt being butch and How We Dress being so related to Who We Are, and having that choice taken away is always some sort of thing. something something abt body autonomy and how she continues to have none despite her proclamations otherwise. she says ”nobody locks me up anywhere” but Kiriona Gaia is arguably locked up everywhere she goes, on account of her body having the fun feature of being able to be turned off by someone else. Gideon started her escape attempts at age four. four!!!!! something something abt how the one thing she has always fought for is her own freedom, and everything she has done and everything she has been through since then has only served to render her more and more under others’ control. on the Ninth she had an ankle cuff and at Canaan House she had the cavalier’s sword and as a prince the leash and collar is her own dead body, which is once again (as always) dressed by someone else.

I would love to see you draw a scene from my rewrite!
Any scene that makes you feel inspired to draw it at all, can be between Asha and Aster or between Asha and the royals or Aster with the royals, whatever you feel more inclined to
(I’m kinda bad at being specific with art requests because I wanna make sure the artist is drawing something they wanna do lmao)

Hehe I had fun with this
This is a scene from “Kingdom of Wishes” Chapter 12– Magic Pencil btw 👍
Notes under the cut
So I was reviewing the official designs for Asha and Aster and realized I was drawing Asha’s hair wrong. Oops. So I drew her “correct” hair in her past version. Amazigh girls usually get their first tattoos during puberty, that’s why I didn’t draw Asha with hers yet.
Also I know Aster didn’t conjure up a little Asha in the story, but I wanted to draw past Asha. Got any guesses from where I got little Asha’s outfit from?
The glowing eyes of Aster’s… yeah they look a bit creepy. Idk. It’s a cop-out for drawing hands bc they are the worst Disney villain ever, so this way I don’t have to draw hands

look, i'm not saying that the show missed the perfect opportunity to make "my brother's keeper" and "doctor's disorders" a psychological suspense and a psychological horror, respectfully, but. i'm also NOT not saying that.

My mother studied what was at the time known as Germanic languages and has since been rebranded to language & literature studies which basically means she has a library about three times the size of mine (especially since she, unlike me, is unable to get rid of books) and of course I deeply enjoy perusing said library and found her school copy of Gawain & the green knight full of her notes. Very cool shit.
