THE MOMENT WE WERE ALL WAITING FOR, FINALLY FINISHED THE DESIGN OF ASTER YESSSSSS ✨✨✨✨✨✨❤❤

This design belongs to the Wish rewrite called "The kingdom of wishes" (Written by @annymation and soon illustrated by @emillyverse and me)

Sorry for the delay, but this guy had so many things to draw and I also had a thousand ideas that it took me a while to capture them all (4 drawings wow, even I'm surprised lol)

Now after this introduction I will tell you the procedure of its design :]

2D MODEL:

-Maybe some don't notice it, but for the 2D drawing of Aster I didn't add many shadows, because in the classic Disney movies the animation doesn't have many shadows if we look closely, this is for several reasons (at that time they had to inking FRAME BY FRAME, can you imagine how much longer it would have taken to add detailed shadows? I really have respect for the animators)

(Here are some examples of what I'm trying to explain)

-As I said before, I didn't detach myself much from the concept art of the movie, I just added some other details that occurred to me, Anny and Emy.

-We decided that his cape would have the constellations of the signs of the zodiac (It was Emy's idea), which in the final result are on the cape, the constellations are noticeable more or less depending on Aster's mood.

-In the Wish rewrite it is mentioned that Aster's hair is like a candle (Reference to Hades) so I decided not to add the lineart in that part

His hair changes depending on his emotions, but not only that, but also his lineart, the calmer he is, the cleaner his animation will be, however with strong emotions (anger, sadness, nervousness) his details will be more neglected, especially when He is REALLY angry, by the way I made his hair look like a flame to give more drama to his design and also make a reference to Ember from Elemental

And as a final detail, the star-shaped gem that she has as a brooch changes color, just like her earrings.

3D MODEL:

-When Aster disguises himself as a human, his details on his clothes would disappear and the shape of his accessories would change to ones without a star shape, also the tone of yellow would look duller, you know so as not to draw attention (although he is dressed like a prince with a giant cape, the boy doesn't know how to hide the truth very well lmao)

-In general, it's just that the design becomes simpler, the only thing that changes is her hair that is no longer a flame, her freckles that are no longer little stars, her clothes no longer have so many details and her mark on her eye disappears(￣▽￣) .

By the way, I wanted to thank @the-autistic-idiot for giving us the great idea of Aster having a star-shaped mark on his eye :D.

-Also, I think that those who have seen my other Wish redesigns are wondering why it seems like I had spit a rainbow at Aster's 3D drawings, what happened is that when I was painting my neurons said ✨Change your coloring✨ and well, The drawing in the end came out like this, although I honestly like it better, it better represents how I draw in a traditional way

Yes, basically the coloring of my drawings is as if a unicorn had spit on them lol

FINAL COMMENTS:

-It was very fun to draw Aster! The boy really has a lot of changes, but thanks to him I already discovered my digital drawing style so I am satisfied.

-Again sorry for the delay, I know that for many Aster must be their favorite character so I hope your wait was worth it :]

IN ORDER TO LIVE IN THE KINGDOM OF ROSAS, DO YOU NEED TO GIVE UP YOUR WISH TO KING MAGNIFICO?

🌟———————————————————————

Genuine question, because I’ve seen some people say you do need to give up your wish to him and I’ve seen others who’ve said that you don’t.

Personally, I believe that you DO need to give up your wish to the king, but not because something in the movie told me so. I only think this from a logical standpoint. I’m not saying that the idea that you need to give up your wish is TRUE, nor am I denying that people don’t need to. This is just a little thoughtful speculation I had. Hear me out.

Say that people DON’T need to give up their wishes in order to live in Rosas. Some people decide to give him their wishes in hopes of getting them granted anyways, while others decide to keep their wishes. So now we have King Magnifico keeping most of the given wishes in the wishing chamber forever and protects those wishes. Then we have Asha say that it’s wrong for him to hoard the given wishes and not return the wishes he won’t grant back to their respective owners. King Magnifico responds by saying that the point of people coming here and giving up their wishes is because the journey to them is too hard. He doesn’t say anything about if he gives back the wishes, then something bad could possibly happen if people pursued their wishes themselves. But it IS hinted that’s what he means because in the movie he takes people’s wishes in hopes to reduce greed and having greedy people in the kingdom (though ngl that just made people more greedy unfortunately for him).

I’m not going to talk about who is right in the concept of keeping or giving back ungranted wishes.

Back to my explanation! So if King Magnifico hoards the wishes because he thinks they are dangerous, then why let people who haven’t given up their wishes live in the kingdom? Those people who haven’t given him their wishes (I’m talking about citizens 18+ because that’s the requirement to give him your wish) could have a dangerous wish within them and walk around the kingdom with that wish in their heart as they please. See what I mean?

(GYATTTT🗣️🔇🔇 im sorry. and this is supposed to be a gif but whatev…)

For example…

Say person A and person B arrive at Rosas and decide to live there. They are both given the option to give up their wishes to the king in hopes for them to be granted, but are still allowed to live in Rosas no matter which choice they pick. Person A gives up their wish (say that their wish is really anything, it doesn’t matter in this example), but Person B decides to keep their wish (say that their wish is vague or has the possibility of dangerous consequences (also, I don’t believe that any of the citizens’ wishes are bad-intentioned because King Magnifico said that it is their hearts desire and it is the wish from the very BEST and PURE part of someone’s heart. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t vague enough to have bad consequences/outcomes or be dangerous, even if not intentioned)). So King Magnifico knows what person A’s wish is and decides to lock it up because he think it’ll result in something bad. Okay, great whatever. But oh wait! He doesn’t know what person B’s wish is and he doesn’t know if their wish could have bad results if granted or pursued. He doesn’t KNOW about it and he can’t SEE it because that person didn’t give their wish to him.

Does that make sense? So this brings me back to my primary question. If people don’t need to give their wishes to the king in order to live in the kingdom of Rosas, what is the point in hoarding the wishes given to him when he doesn’t know the wishes of the people who haven’t given them up to him? He can’t make a hypothesis and not even an assumption on person B’s wish or intentions or dreams or goals because he doesn’t have their wish. And he just allowed them to live in the kingdom!

So what would be the difference in danger between person A’s given wish and person B’s ungiven wish when King Magnifico can’t properly defend his statement and reasoning on the whole ‘greedy people thing’ and not giving back given wishes he won’t grant? How does a given wish make it any more harmful than an ungiven wish in his eyes? It just doesn’t make sense to me if the case is that you DON’T need to give up your wish in order to live in Rosas.

Now this is the part where I’m taking stuff from the movie now to back up my reasoning. So at the end of the movie, we see all 1,923 wishes (yes, that’s how many there are 😭) are sent back to their original owners. We see that EVERYBODY gets their wish back, aside from the kids of course and Valentino. When I take in this scene, I am basically told by the movie that every qualified citizen gave up their wish. Could the possibility that they had the choice on whether to give their wish up or not to King Magnifico and still live in Rosas either way is true? Maybe. But it seems highly unlikely because it can be debunked by King Magnifico’s statement on keeping people safe and his attempt to stop greedy thieves and his refusal to return the wishes he won’t grant. It forces his statement of ‘preventing another disaster from happening’ to make no sense if he lets people who haven’t given up their wishes to him live there ANYWAYS.

If someone has anything they’d like to add, feel free to share! This is just a genuine question and I’d like to understand more if the case really is that qualified people (those 18+) can live in Rosas anyways without giving up their wishes and keeping it with themselves the entire time.

next up are the Six of Crows polls, as only very few of the characters were shown on screen or had much in the way of screen time, these polls may be slightly different but I would like your opinions for this.

Option 1: polls are similar to the grisha trilogy polls, characters who were in both the show and books will have "I prefer the book/show character" options while others will have the "I like/dislike this character" options

Option 2: all character will have just the "I like/dislike this character" options with an additional "I don't know them" option

¡ Valentino redesing!

We finally have the baby!

(This redesign belongs to the Wish Au "Kingdom of wishes", written by @annymation and illustrated by @emillyverse and me)

This will surely be the redesign where I have the least things to say lol, but I still have some things to comment on so let's go!

At first I hadn't thought much about how I would redesign Valentino, what I was sure of was making him more adorable and cuter so that everyone would want to have a goat as a pet, because if I'm completely honest, Valentino's official design in the Disney movie I didn't find it adorable at all (sorry Disney artists, I know they put effort into drawing and animating but I just didn't like Valentino's design)

(Do you get my point? He's just not cute or adorable, and the voice they gave him didn't help either, or the face idk ,but I thought the joke about his voice at the beginning of the movie was funny ¯_(ツ)_/¯)

So I made a mental list of things I wanted to do (which aren't many if I'm honest): -Make it fluffier and fluffier -Give him other clothes -Add even one symbol in your redesign

Anny sent me several references of goats and concept art, among them I found this one, which I based myself on mainly because 1-I have always liked that animals had moles or spots on their fur or skin 2-When I saw that on their clothes You could see the seams that joined the different fabrics, I realized that it coincided with Asha's redesign (on the sleeves) so I was like: "AWWWWW it matches his mom's clothes!"

In the end I only added a part of it with a different fabric because I didn't want to complicate the design too much, but I liked how it turned out, I added some symbols of the tattoos that exist in the Amazigh culture, which is also to protect the person (or animal in this case) of the bad influences that are around them

I also liked adding that little ball of curly hair on our goat's little head, it just looks so cute!

FINAL COMMENTS!

As I said, this is not very long, but I'm satisfied with how the drawing turned out, I wanted to try something new that looks like the lighting was a sunset, I don't know if it's noticeable but at least it turned out nice lmao, as a curious fact, with this drawing I realized how MUCH my sketches change when I paint them in detail

So I was reviewing the official designs for Asha and Aster and realized I was drawing Asha’s hair wrong. Oops. So I drew her “correct” hair in her past version. Amazigh girls usually get their first tattoos during puberty, that’s why I didn’t draw Asha with hers yet.

Also I know Aster didn’t conjure up a little Asha in the story, but I wanted to draw past Asha. Got any guesses from where I got little Asha’s outfit from?

annoying wish criticism of the day: Asha being a fairy godmother at the end defeats the message of the citizens granting their wishes themselves

rebuttal: she doesn't grant wishes. Star gifted her a magic wand made from his dust. Star doesn't grant wishes (was literally said in the film), it just does magic stuff like making animals talk. All Asha did with the wand was make a chicken large. Could you make someone's wish come true with certain magic abilities? Sure. But Asha has a selfless heart unlike Magnifico and is aware not all wishes should be granted. She would make a great godmother and I like that they gave her this gift because it doesn't erase the magical element of Rosas even with Magnifico defeated. Amaya is shown guiding people on how to make their wishes reality. The message of the movie still remains. Just pay attention.

All right, it's time for the moment you've been waiting for!

I present you the Wish Granted AU Starboy! 🌟

Took me quite a while to finish this since I don't get a lot of time to draw nowadays, but I'm just happy it paid off! I actually had a hard time picking out a name, so I'll just call him Star. If you do have a suggestion or two, I'd like to hear them, and I could give him another name later in the story!

I actually based him more on Bill Schwab's designs from past films he's worked on. The idea here is that while Asha and the rest of the characters look like the normal modern Disney design, Star here looks more cartoonish, calling back to the more classic Walt Disney characters with big expressions and facial features. Star can actually turn on and off the glow at anytime, but when its on, he might as well be a Christmas Tree. 😅 I'll reveal more about his character in the next Wish Granted character post later this week. I do wish I had a digital art pad so I could digitally color this in, but alas, I'm doing it old school. 😂

I will say that he's a bit of a wild card, that likes to act at the spur of the moment. If there's a problem he think he can solve, he's going to drag Asha along with him to do it whether she agrees to it or not! (Not that she minds, of course)

*Takes a look a round then lets Starboy out of the security room*

Me: All right, coast is clear. Now then. Here's the deal there's some other Starboys here who-

Star: *Gasp* There are more starts like me on Earth?! 😮

Me: Yeah, quite a few, there's Aster, Cielo, Sueño, another Aster...

Star: *his glow starts to brighten the more he hears this* That's so cool! Can we go meet them, like right now?? 😀

Me: Uh, I don't think we should rush into this,

Star: *sees a group of glowing figures a long distance from them* Wait, I think I see them over there! Oh hohoho, wait till I show them the animals I can change into!

Me: WHAT, NO—

Star: I'm gonna go say hi, byeeeeee!! *turns into a seagull resembling Scuttlebutt and flies away*

Me: OH FOR PETE'S SAKE, GET BACK HERE— *Chases after Star before he probably breaks something*
