hunter immediately being suspicious of crosshair's behavior and thinking it's because he's walking them into a trap or hiding things, meanwhile crosshair is just having an absolute time with the ptsd of being back on the planet and at the base where the first person to show him kindness after he lost his batch died. where his brother died. the brother who showed him just how wrong things were. the brother he killed for.
and crosshair not hesitating before separating from the batch, because he just knew mayday's helmet would be there. because he remembered mayday showing him the helmets of his other brothers who had died on the planet. and crosshair doing just as mayday did, making sure the brothers who died get some bit of respect at their final resting place. doing so, and wondering, just maybe, if wherever mayday was, he was proud of crosshair.
AND the added emotion of this entire scene happening as mayday's theme plays in the background in a lower tone, reminding crosshair of the first brother of his who believed he could still be a good soldier, just not in the way the empire wanted him to be.

I had the brilliant idea to design a 3-fold symmetry chracter. I finished it around 4 am, had a good nap and after waking up I realised it looks... mediocre. Not bad, just boring. How in THE FU-

Oooo starstruck dee has little stars at the bottom of her feet! Are they just aesthetic or would they make imprints into the ground? (like pawprints)
exactly like that! though she's not the only one...
edit: might need to add some additional dialogue to this to make it more clear, but a clarification in the interim; he knows about his own footprints. he's just surprised to see something similar already there when he knows he's only just landed. he lifts his own shoe to confirm that they're not identical (and also to reveal this to the viewer). seems his stoicism beat off the clarity in this one, sorry 😭

happy father's day i'm thinking about this outis line again
I always thought it was a bit out of pocket considering this isn't too long after the events of Canto III, even with how Outis was being harsher this Canto.
But I then I remembered that Outis' son is the same age as Sinclair.
Her son, who thinks that she died in the Smoke War (the in universe equivalent to the Trojan War as depicted in the Iliad and the Odyssey) because she hasn't been home in years. Her son who cannot cry out to her. And her son, who is currently in much the same position as Sinclair regarding his self-perception and ability to fight, as Telemachus refers to himself as "a weakling knowing nothing of valor" (Book 2 of the Odyssey, line number and exact wording depend on translation).
I think this line reflects more on Outis and her anxieties about her family thinking that she's dead, as well as a reference to Telemachus experiencing his own journey to manhood, much like Sinclair.
I think there's also things to be said for the parallels between Sinclair and Telemachus, even just the ones imagined by Outis. Hell's Chicken had her showing a very paternal worry over his diet (raise your hand if your dad has ever said you'll be short forever if you don't eat right). Overall, even though Sinclair and Telemachus only share the bones of a coming of age narrative, Outis is seeing connections there because she misses her family.
As with this one. Again, she's showing her hand more than she means to. Though she's talking to Dongrang, I think she's also talking to herself. Trying to reassure herself that home will always be waiting. Dongrang, however, decides not to return, but to pursue glory no matter who he hurts in the process. The Odyssey also contrasts the pursuit of glory with the desire to return home. Odysseus has to choose humility in order to return.
Outis has been keeping up a careful persona around us, but it's slipping. Her desire to return home is seeping through even as she tries to assert herself by clinging to the glory from a war that's long since ended.

Every time you drop new lore I get a new idea that I can't figure out how/have the motivation to craft a full story out of lmao
Been thinking about those people asking if Cellie or Luna would notice if somepony lands on them, and I couldn't help but thinking about a pony escaping some sort of abusive situation and flying to the one place they couldn't imagine anypony following them- a goddess.
Would the goddess care? I imagine Luna most definitely would, but Celestia? Maybe, on a sort of vague level, in that she cares about the well being of all creatures. Or maybe she would on a much deeper level than anticipated, seeing as she knows all too well what comes from that sort of thing.
Just wanted to stop by to say thank you for the brain food, I just adore how your universe is coming along! Your worldbuilding is exquisite.
Celestia would not notice you for a while. She may get a vague sense of someone seeking sanctuary, so she would feel protective. If you stay more than a few sunsets she would realize your significance and check you out. She won't ask you about your day or anything, and caring about your story is a little difficult for her. But if your abuser shows up, well... They shouldn't have been so close to a goddess' feet.
The others would care much more, and want to know your whole story and give you comfort. Luna would protect your dreams, Cadance would protect you physically, and Twilight would connect you to a support network to help you get your life back and stay safe.

Saying that what fans (and post-flashpoint) make Jason is what Helena already is always gets one of two reactions: I hate Jason and this is true, I love Jason and this is completely wrong. Everyone's losing with that btw.
Helena and Jason are fundamentally different enough that it can't be exactly true. Helena and Jason's backstories don't have much in common either. Helena's involved betrayal, schemes and fights for power. Jason's was a product of Park Row being continually failed by Gotham. Jason also has a history with the Bats specifically, as the second Robin and a son of the family, that Helena doesn't. There is an appeal in that that's not transferrable; Jason's been a Bat and has had his own various roles since his he was created pre-crisis, not just since his resurrection or since he got a softer role post-flashpoint. He doesn't get to just not be a bat character.
In going "fanon Jason is exactly like Helena" you're also ignoring her time on the JLA and BOP, because remember that fanon thinks Jason sits around staring at his wall angrily until his family tell him to stop being a brainless killer OR runs around half-assing missions with his brothers friends because he has none of his own. It's honestly a disservice to her to pretend that brand of fanon Jason could ever be her.
However, Helena is the one who fought to be trusted by the Bats and compromised on killing because of them (whether that be due to the aforementioned struggle to fit in with them, or, at low points, because they know her identity). Jason did not due this pre-flashpoint, and even those abandoned attempts in Countdown didn't begin with the main timeline's version of Bruce. Pre-flashpoint Jason was not asking for anyone's trust or for a seat at the table. That's not even to say that any interpretation of Jason that has him reconciling with the Bats if a rip-off of Helena, it's just that Jason put himself on the outskirts of the family because he has personal issues with them. It's not just them making that decision. The role that Jason now occupies is very much the one that Helena had.
I'm not going to sit here talking about all the similarities and differences, or how they got tangled along the way. I just want to say that people who act like Jason was dealt a good hand by being given Helena's characterization by fanon and post-flashpoint are never going to be able to prove their point because you're focusing on the wrong thing (something that isn't even true). People who refuse to accept that the Jason they're talking about is a whole different character are going to miss out on any of the many interpretations of Jason that aren't just knock-off Helena's. And they're all pissing each other off in the process.
