Just a thought about your post on Tumblr themes; you can still find people to pay to do it for you if you have no skill in that area

this is also true, but honestly i find that to not really be necessary when there are so many free themes out there with customization built right in.

also i would honestly encourage people to mess around with the html of their theme, at least a little bit. Just changing some things and seeing what happens in the preview window can teach you a surprising amount about html, and you can just back out without saving if you mess anything up and can't fix it. Even small amounts of html knowledge is incredibly useful to have, and I worry about the state of the internet that websites are making it harder to mess with therefore depriving a lot of younger ppl of the chance to learn how the web really works while being on it

#like theme customization is fun but it's also like a great learning tool #which is slowly being phased out #i get a lot of comments on my post about themes being inaccessible which can be true but #what happens when websites entirely remove your ability to customize #and the designs they go with are personally inaccessible to you?#when they take away our ability to customize they also remove our ability to shape the internet for ourselves #rather than for the whims of corps #idk some food for thought

So y'all know that Vergil only has 2 "earthly" possessions left (Yamato and his poetry book) right? Well, does anyone else think about the fact that Nero has "owned" both of those items? Nero's Devil Bringer had/has Yamato inside it (or however you want to put that) and now, post 5, has Vergil's poetry book. At the end of 5, Vergil gives what he can to his son (since he can't return Yamato to Nero). HE IS TRUSTING NERO WITH ONE OF THE TWO THINGS HE OWNS. . . . I don't know it just makes me feel sad. Vergil can't make up for what he's done (and hasn't done) but he can show that he cares about (and, dare I say, loves) Nero. Not to mention the fact Vergil is replicating what his own Father (Sparda) did. Given we don't know how long the twins had their swords in comparison to when Sparda disappeared/died.

Bonus thought: Post DMC 4 Nero has always had a piece of his Father with him: Yamato, V (quite literally a piece), now the book. Even though Vergil wasn't there for Nero in a physical sense- Vergil has been with Nero for as long as Dante has.

I become 300% more of both a lover and a hater when I'm on my period. just a time of the month when I have strong opinions I would say

Interesting licorice cookie fact: he loves food. Any time hes shown with it its generally treated as a big deal for him (and that 1 time he literally cried happy tears over it)

(for the first one its too long to add but this whole bit he goes on to talk to his fans on his story but he keeps getting distracted by the food🙏)

In the Cake Shop event, every time he asks for a cake, he always asks for a lot of toppings. Never a little, never a specific amount, always a lot.

(i have a point abt all of this but i think its cute and in-character that hed always go for the overzealous choice of just adding a bunch of something rather than a sensible amount. also side side note i think its a cute contrast to pomegranate, who always knows exactly how many toppings she wants)

In ovenbreak, when you give him a Licorice Skull Candy, he responds with "This is all for me, right? I'm not sharing!" (Something ill ADD once i find a SCREENSHOT OF IT😡💥)

In the Cake Shop event, (again, in the story) he's really stingy with his cake, and hates the idea of sharing it with anybody

Also licorice is canonically noticeably skinny

Sad licorice cookie fact: when people don't consistently have food (due to neglect, poverty, etc.) its typical for them try to hoard food when they do have the opportunity to get it, even if they're no longer in a spot where they need to do that. Its common for them to take more than they need if its available, usually in an attempt to save what they won't eat now for later.

sometimes I see comments about hating Miguel’s characterisation in the movie that boil down to ‘he was mean to Miles’, and like,

I know, but that part of his character is why he’s interesting. most well adjusted adults aren’t mean to a 15 year old who wants to save his dad, so making your character act that way is maybe a hint towards underlying issues and their life experiences that led them to throw hands at a teenager who draws doodles of his mutual crush in his sketchbook, and perhaps that should make you consider why that character is like that

ok i see all of the autistic house headcanons (i mean it's pretty much canon) but i never see anyone mentioning his sense of justice in relation to it

like i feel like they always mention social cues, stimming, shit like tahy and yes that's all super true but also i feel like a huge thing is that he has his own set of morals and a huge sense of justice

i feel like this is especially relevant in s8 when he's arguing with chase and how he always has to have "the truth"

it's the way iizuna's injury was such a pivotal moment for kiyoomi.

prior to that, kiyoomi had a very streamlined, and in my opinion, naive way of thinking; hard work ensures success, that he'll get the results he wants if he puts in the work and if the result is unfavorable, then it simply means he wasn't prepared enough.

however, by the end of ch.394, we come to learn that kiyoomi grows out of that rigid mentality, factoring in luck and hard work instead of just the latter. now, instead of working hard to get an ideal result, he was working hard so that when his time on court does end, when he runs out of luck, he can leave knowing he put his all while he was still capable. it wasn't a matter of winning or losing anymore. it was a matter of being content, about self-satisfaction.

but when did that click for him?

i think that his change in mentality was a gradual thing, culminating to a singular moment.

we can see the manifestation of his ideals in ch.215 when he confronts kageyama about shiratorizawa's loss. he was in disbelief and immediately assumed ushijima was just not in good condition. he interrogates kageyama afterwards because what could have possibly gone wrong when ushijima was just as, if not more, hard-working as kiyoomi?

then in ch.394, it starts with ushijima telling kiyoomi how his capabilities were a product of both hard work and luck.

his is when the idea of luck working together with hard work is introduced to kiyoomi verbally (that i know of).

i'm sure that this was met with skepticism, especially if one has such a fixed way of thinking. i don't think kiyoomi was convinced from that conversation alone but i feel that it did get him contemplating.

then, he learns ushijima doesn't make it to his last spring tournament; he watches hinata collapse mid-game and karasuno lose to kamomedai; and his own team loses when their captain, iizuna sustains an injury.

for all the hard work ushijima puts into volleyball, he was just unfortunate enough to have lost.

in hinata's case, it is inevitably his lack of regard for his health that puts him out of the court but he was lucky enough to have been able to play the match for so long.

both situations showing that preparation and luck go hand-in-hand.

and it all culminates to the exchange kiyoomi has with his captain.

that's when it finally clicks for kiyoomi.

hard work and preparation can only take you so far, and that's why it hurts more when something that you've put your heart and soul into slips away from your grasp simply because fortune did not favor you.

kiyoomi already understood that there will always be regrets if you don't put in the work, but is only now realizing how bitter that regret is when you know you don't deserve it.

his exchange with iizuna not only cements that hard work and luck are intrinsically connected, but it also makes him think of the future, of what his final game would look like.

and the conclusion he comes up with is that he wants to leave the court with no regrets.

he will put in the work and do as he's always done and when his time is up, he can leave content and grateful to have been on the court for so long.

tbh very nervous about them possibly making maelor aemond's kid instead of aegons. i'm not against helaemond as a concept, but i think that even if they had feelings for each other aemond would never act on them. this is the guy who (in f&b) refused to take over as king even when his brother was horrifically injured. aemond is loyal to his family and i just don't see him betraying aegon by sleeping with helaena, even if he did have romantic feelings towards her. just feels very ooc for him
