Now announcing.... 'My Ikémen Valentine' Gift Exchange!

A sweet and spicy holiday to celebrate with your true love

The fifth installment in the Ikémen Gift Exchanges hosted by @ikemenlibrary. This one’s a bit different, as it’s not for a specific fandom, but instead, a romantic holiday!

This is open to all of the current Ikémen games released in English servers!

Creation time: January 19 - February 16 Gift sharing: February 17-18

You can sign up for the exchange here

The deadline to submit your submission to join the exchange will be due on January 12.

You will have a month to create a Valentine’s gift for your recipient and an Ikémen character that they have given to you out of their list.

If you're interested in joining, please make sure to get your answers completed and sent in before January 12. You can edit your sign up form after it’s been submitted, but please make sure to let me (the host) know if you’ve done that, as I do not get notified when that happens and I want to make sure everyone’s happy with up to date information. Once the deadline passes, I will turn off the link to edit or submit so if you have any problems after then, please contact me directly.

Once I get everyone’s information organized and sorted, I will be reaching out to everyone individually on January 19 to let you know who you’ve been assigned to create for, as well as any extra information to share at that point in time.

When your application has been accepted for the gift exchange, I will reach out with a link to join the Discord server (if you aren’t already in it from previous exchanges).**

Disclaimer: **Please note before signing up that I do have a Discord server that I encourage everyone to join. We’d love for all the participants (myself included!) to get to know one another, work together, and potentially help each other out within the event. We also have some fun bots to play with!

**I just wanted to give a quick update on the rules, as I have changed a few things slightly this time around.

The minimum word requirement for fanfiction updated from 800 to 850 words

The fan art requirement has been updated from being lined with a colored drawing, to also require a background as well (this can be a solid color, or scenery, or whatever you decide. The background just cannot be white (of course, special cases may occur and I will leave it up to the artists stylistic choice))

This time around, you cannot select specific characters from a list who you aren’t interested in creating for. That would be too messy with 4 fandoms. Instead, you will get more options of characters to create based on your choices you fill out on the sign up form

You must be ready to share progress during the halfway check in point via Google Drive/Docs if you are a fanfiction creator. If you do not have access to using one of these, please send me whatever you have during the check in, and I will copy it into my Google Drive. This is so if there becomes a time where you lose your progress on something other than Google, there will still be a copy existing, even if it doesn’t completely reflect your current progress.

This will all be reiterated in the information key you will be given at the time assignments go out, so don’t worry about remembering this for the time being

Found it was World Watercolor Month rather late in the moth (July is almost over, Krys, aaaaaa!) and though I won't participating through the rest of the month, I did feel inspired today and did some watercolorings to celebrate in my own little way

Above is my Belle, Clara, and Clavis quoting a line from Hamilton that's stuck in my head forever (even though I haven't seen Hamilton, for shame on me)

About Ikegen Management Team Message!

The fact that Ikemen Genjiden Management Team formally send out a statement to thank everyone who send them supportive and kind messages after the announcement of EoS and saying that they themselves are sadder than the players itself really makes me think that Ikemen Genjiden must have been their passion project. This really feels like a shut-down that is forced rather than planned like Ikemen Revolution. Correct me, if I'm wrong, because Ikemen Revolution suddenly stopped releasing new trailers for their game out of nowhere, and sometime after, they formally announced their EoS. Usually, an EoS of a game means that, a new game announcement is right around the corner. Ikemen Revolution was killed to bring out Ikemen Villains. But I feel like Ikemen Genjiden's EoS is out of nowhere. I don't really think they planned this to happen, at least not this year. I don't know. Everything really feels sus, because they just released Kurama and Ibuki's sequel and everything was going well. Let's just wait and watch if there will actually be an announcement for a new Ikemen game this year or not.

According to them the management team haven't changed since the start of the development of the game, which means, every single member in the management team has longing memories for this game.

The story is about Rikka was already in development 2 years before the game's launch, and he is meant to be the counterpart to Tamamo and the starting point of the whole Genjiden story. According to the Management team, the story hasn't even reached its full potential yet. If the game was still on-going, we would have been able to see more crazy things unfold. It's sad that no matter how many kind words and encouragement to continue the game we sent, nothing will change because at the end of the day, it's a business and this is a strategic decision made for making profits.

The management team, did say that they will try and release as many stories as possible before the end day. So lets' look forward to that.

I really love the management team of Ikemen Genjiden. They are so creative and passionate about Ikemen Genjiden that it saddens me that the game did not get the recognition it rightfully deserves. People were asking for the English release, but they don't seem to understand that if the Japanese market doesn't do well, they won't be releasing it in English. That's why I have always been saying people to go play the Japanese app if you're that interested to play the game. But whatever. This was bound to happen someday.

When I saw the introduction of Rikka, I had hope that this game would at least go on until Rikka's story is released but I guess it did not and that makes me even more sad. Rikka is such an interesting character and I'm still dying to know more about him. I wish, if they are not going to release a main story, they at least release an event of something or give out free stories about Rikka just so that the fans could learn more about him. The fact that everything about this character is now going to disappear in fucking space.....I'm sad. I'm really really sad.

I wish that this Management Team really gets the praise that they truly deserve. I hope this same Management Team, comes together again and create new game which could be even better than Ikemen Genjiden. This Management Team has the potential to create stories that truly touches one's heart and soul. A MC like Yoshino who is so beautiful and lovable than any MC I have ever seen in my life. Eccentric but lovable suitors with very unique and some of which have never-before-seen personalities. Hilarious brain-dead nonsensical humor. Amazing and heart-touching dialogues. Beautiful music. Beautiful art style. Best cast of VAs ever. Everything about this game is so positive that I'm dying from the inside when I see my child slowly dying.

I love you, Ikemen Genjiden Management Team. You guys are literally the GOAT!!! I really hope you guys do well in the upcoming years and have more opportunities to shine!!! I'll always pray that upcoming projects get recognition it deserves!

Brought to you by me and the amazing @queengiuliettafirstlady, this content creation challenge is a week-long exploration of the trope Alternative Universe!

→ GENERAL RULES

Works of all forms are welcome! Fanarts, fanfics, headcanons,...whatever your heart desires.

Limited to otome fandoms - IkeSeries (Ikemen Vampire, Ikemen Prince, Ikemen Sengoku, Ikemen Revolution, etc.); Tears of Themis; Obey me!; Mr Love: Queen's Choice; Light and Night; Voltage games; Mystic Messenger and others, as well as Visual Novel otomes.

This challenge takes place between June 13th and June 19th, 2022. The deadline for posting your works is June 25th (up until midnight, UTC+2).

On June 26th @queengiuliettafirstlady will publish a masterlist enlisting all works linked along with their creators. Don't hesitate to contact us if your work was done within the deadline but wasn't featured in the masterlist. Or, if you prefer not to be featured on the masterlist at all!

When posting your works, use the tag #different universe same love ccc - you can as well tag @xxsycamore and @queengiuliettafirstlady in your posts! It will help us find your work easier!

Posting to other sites is allowed - as long as you mention the challenge and its creators.

This challenge uses a total of 14 prompts, two for each day. You're free to create a work based on whichever one you like more for that day. You can also create works for both prompts, and you can also mix the two prompts into one work! Whatever suits you :) You can create more than one work for the same prompt, too!

You can find the list of prompts on the banner above, as well at the bottom of this post.

Under the cut you will also find a short explanation of each prompt, just in case there is anything unclear about them.

Any additional rules are up to the content creators. Modern AU - moving the characters from non-modern setting to modern setting (they could be going to school, having jobs, etc. you have much freedom with this prompt!)

Historical AU - contrary to above, moving the characters from a modern setting to a specific time period (ex.: Ancient times, The Renaissance, Victorian Era, etc. )

Celebrity AU - placing your character(s) in a setting where they're famous. Other characters could be their fans; working with them, meeting them by chance...

Person of the arts AU - Character(s) who are artists, writers, singers, dancers, actors, everything linked with different forms of art.

Enemies AU - placing your characters in a setting where they're enemies (working in rival organizations, or maybe having a hero/villain dynamic.)

Academia AU - academic institutions of any kind, characters might be high schoolers just as they might be college professors, and anything inbetween.

Small Shop AU - combining the famous Coffee shop AU, Flower shop AU, Pet store AU, Bookstore AU... basically any kind of small shop business.

Domestic/Family life AU - Characters are settled down/have moved out in their own home, and/or started a family.

Role Reversal AU - also called Role Swap AU, a setting where two or more characters swap their roles/alignments, changing plot events. For instance, the MC might take the role of a suitor, and her love interest might take on the role of MC.

FREE DAY - The last day of this challenge is for you to choose your own prompt! It can perfectly well overlap with an already existing prompt. Maybe your favorite Alternative Universe wasn't in the list above? This is your chance to include your idea in the list :)

Mobile: Obey Me (OG and NB), Arcana Twilight, Twisted Wonderland, Ikemen Vampire/Prince/Sengoku/Revolution, Puzzle & Dragons.

PC: World of Warcraft. A lot of horror/yandere and romance games/visual novels too (Blooming Panic is so good omg).

I also play Pokémon, but I prefer the older games so I play those on my PC or using a handheld retro system.

My favourite game of all time: Final Fantasy Tactics (the original PS1 release version)

Winter’s fate event Floyd 1

Notes: Nobunaga Shimazaki is the same voice actor for Silver, Nobuhiko Okamoto is the same voice actor for Floyd, all characters aren’t minors in this story it takes place in the future, if you’re a fan of Napoleon I highly suggest the CD listen at the end,

Shopping in the tiny town was quite a hassle for Floyd today, not because he’s bored, but because everything he wants is sold out. Floyd was an eel on a mission, he was searching for a gift to purchase for his lover. An impossible task for the eel as he walked throughout the shops.

Currently, Floyd was in a bookstore to get the limited-edition cd of Napoleon Bonaparte from Ikemen Vampire. If he remembered correctly, this was something she, his lover, wanted so dearly. Approaching the table to where it was, he reached out for one last present.

Floyd: *looks at the cover in confusion* Vampires?

Fangirl 1: AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! It’s here! I got the last one!

Yep, turns out that girl swiped the last copy out of Floyds hands.

Fangirl 1: Thank you worker for handing this gift to me!! I can’t wait to listen to Nobunaga Shimazaki! I love his voice!!!!!!!!!!! I’ll pray for your kindness tonight!

As much as he wanted too, there was no way for Floyd to win against a die-hard fan. Taking a look at his clothes he noticed how similar it was to the bookstore workers. No wonder the fangirl mistook him for one of the workers.

However, that CD was one of the most requested items that he knew his lover wanted. Floyd was hoping to grab it as a last resort.

Floyd: If only that lady didn’t come out of nowhere, no, she probably would have beaten me up for it… Worker: Hey, you! If you have that much time to slack off, then put up this new stand! It’s for Ikemen Revolution Lancelot’s CD just came out!

Shoving a box full of displays to Floyd, he was forced to set up the display of Lancelot CDs.

Floyd: This doesn’t look too bad~ It’s pretty interesting to look at. *picks up cd*

Smiling to himself in awe Floyd got carried away at his own work of art to notice someone very important standing behind him.

Worker: I’m so sorry! I thought you were a worker, but it looks like you weren’t one at all! Floyd: Oh, you’ve realized the truth? Worker: Here, you can have the payment for the work you did today. Is there anything else you want? Floyd: Hmmm *looks down at the CD*

Floyd: Well, he does look safer than that Napoleon~

A couple days later~

You: I see so that’s why you gave me Lancelot’s CD. *opens the cd* Huh? There’s another paper inside? Floyd: Read it! *all smiles*

Opening up the letter you read the contents to see:

Hey,

I couldn’t buy that CD you wanted or the coffee mix or the hat or the plush or anything you originally asked for as a gift, but I got you this CD. Don’t you think this guy has a nice voice; I think we sound pretty similar. When you listen to this CD, I want you to picture it’s me saying this to you instead of Lancelot. Thank you for spending the holidays with me this time~

Turning towards your lover you immediately leaned in for a kiss but stopped yourself midway.

Floyd: Why stop halfway? *leaning over towards you* You: I won’t picture you as Lancelot. *pouting* I like you because you’re Floyd, you're the one I fell in love with. To think it’s you saying those words to me would be strange… Floyd: What?! It’s not a music CD! *giving a perplexed look* You: Of course not! It’s pure ASMR of Lancelot saying sweet words and kissing ASMR near my ear. That’s why I wanted Napoleon’s CD so bad. I really wanted to listen to... Floyd: You wanted to hear someone’s ASMR… hahaha! You’re such a strange one _____! But that’s what I like about you *patting your head*

You: Do you want to listen to it with me?

After that Floyd spent his night questioning why he was listening to Lancelot saying sweet words to him.

ikerev shutdown rant because I'm frustrated

Rolling around crying and whining like a baby- I was holding back tears in my school bus🧍 we'll never get the answers we wanted, the closure we wanted, this is such an unsatisfying way to say goodbye. These three years I've been playing have been beautiful, this game really had me when I had no one. All my woes and worries just went away. I knew it was coming- I'm pretty sure we all did actually- but still. It's tough. I mean- I like the other ikemen series games- but none of them makes me feel so light as ikerev. That no matter how much more beautiful the art style is, no matter how much beautiful the music is, it's always ikemen Revolution in my heart. When I feel sad I open up ikemen Revolution and just read through the letters and saved stories, and suddenly I feel a little bit more okay.

I'll always cherish every moment I spent with the game, with my favorite and just the thrill and happiness I felt each time. I never thought it would end- or moreso I never wanted to even consider it. But what's done is done, I don't think we can convince them to just change their minds. I'll miss Kyle, I'll miss him a lot. I'm kinda confused on what I should do knowing that I'm never gonna see anything new from him anymore, that Kyle isnt gonna be there anymore. Silly lil doctor man isn't gonna be with us no more and I'm out of it. I can't even think of him without being reminded that it's the end. And it pisses me off more that the thought of my favorite ikemen makes me sad, when before it made me kick my feet on the bed in bliss. I hope the fandom doesn't die out too soon...I really need some content about em' lore and all. Since we'll never get a canon explanation, might as well just wing it! Y'know?

For all the ikerev fans (esp the veteran players who've been playing since years and years ago) I hope y'all are doing ok. It'll be hard to learn how to let go of our little paradise, our own wonderland. That we'll have to say goodbye to our beloveds and stuff. No one wants to, I don't want to. But reality bites a little too hard on this one. Good luck to us all
