ok i doubt im going to fall into the streamer category per se bc i cant imagine myself speaking live for hours i wld get tired also currently my devices wld crash akdkdjfjf also idk i feel like my voice is diff in english than french n i hate hearing my english voice and i wld feel so self conscious streaming in english or making any videos in english but as far as chatting goes i wld hypothetically love to speak to my mutuals n not enough speak french so a french stream wldnt make sense for me. i also dont play any games tho my sister does lol n again device issues im pretty sure if i tried to stream a game my laptop wld crash oops

Leverage Log: The Real Fake Car Job

Well with a title like that, im left wondering the syntactical ambiguity. Is this a job about a fake car that turns out to secretly be real, or was there a "fake" Fake Car Job that its being contrasted against? Guess we'll see. --- No way this show starts with mistaken identity, so im betting its Witnes Protection covering a criminal's ass like usual. --- Parker looks at this guy's track record of gettign in with the maffia as a get-out-of-jail freecard and just makes a note. --- Since when do libraries charge for wifi? --- Hardison should invest in like, a small trailer for behind lucille. Keep Lucile clean. --- Oh thats bad... the show is seeding the question of "can Nate live a normal life without these high-stakes heists all the time", which is not a good indicator of his surviving the season finale. --- So he's selling the free wifi to afford his mini-cars. (good scam, low level enough most people wont even bother, allow himself to continue his hobbies a little without getting authorities called on him. Its a good con. Small scale, practical.) This guy is good at being bad. --- So the fake car is the Mussolini's car, which is gonna turn out to be the actual car they're looking for by accident? Is that what the title is about? --- Parker sold the "doesnt know about cars but found the Musselcar in her gramps' shack" character well enough, but if she's meant to play the "doesnt actually know what cars are what" character, maybe throw in a line asking about the colour of "Phil's" Alpha Romeo --- Witness Protection Bodyguard's got a good play with the GPS Tracker on the phone. (is the serving tray a bug or is it a bomb? Who knows? At this point i dont see a reason it couldnt be both) --- So he calls his car friend, from his old life. His old life, laundering money for the Maffia. Guess who's about to be assasinated! --- Is it the Wifi Money? Couple months as a librarian, couple dozen people using the wifi a day on average... Maybe a couple other minor side-hustles round town, could really add up. Especially if he suspects Italian-Parker to be naive enough... (turns out im right, i stopped the episode the moment Hardison said he hadnt accessed any banks for the money) --- Oh God, Hardisons gonna kill this guy with the implication that this "strange artist fellow" bought his prize cars and dismantled them for art supplies. ("aquired at a government auction last year) Like i love the powerplay here, tell him I murdered your babies and if you dont stop me, This baby is next. Like this is full on Dubenich invoking Nate's Son levels of emotional manipulation. --- "are we being suspicious enough" You are buying garbagebags, Axes and shovels "dont use that rope, for future reference, you can chew right through it". Well thats ominous foreshadowing --- Oh... The bodyguard thinks Team Leverage are hitmen working for the Mark to kill HER. In her defence i could definitly see him do it, kill his handler, flee the country dig up his missing money abroad. --- "i did not sell out the Marshal Service so you could throw away all of our planning on a car". shit, she's not witness protection, SHE'S MAFFIA? Oh no she isnt maffia, she's just corrupt. (5 MIllion dollars... thats good money) --- Mobster- You called our mutual friend Charlie Corrupt Bitch- You're an idiot! Mob- Then we tracked you down cause you left your GPS tracking on CB!- Ok that one is on me. Honesty! --- So they're not even going to be taking down the maffia? (most episodes, they'd somehow end up pulling those guys down as well) But hey, the Maffia seems to genuinely respect Nate. (in their defence, they've seen the damage these guys do) --- I only knew three of the five. (car would drive him crazy, Access the accounts, Turn on babysitter. Those are the ones he knew. The car friend who got the Maffia involved are obviously the ones he didnt plan on) --- "we matter". Well, this entire episode about the looming threat of retirement ends on a sweet note. But dang if it isnt an ominous plotthread to add to the final season.

i could see turning someone into a vampire as something you do to a trusted friend or partner.. aw fuck ive gotta outline if people are born as vampires or not. the worldbuilding catches me again. shelving that for later

i do want there to be uneven power dynamics in siring for Bite's case specifically because yada yada young adult vs parent angst we've all been there. maybe something about the origin of vampirism lends it to uneven power dynamics but in modern society its typically looked down on to lord that power over others without good reason? specific laws about it so courts can rule that it's unjust for someone to be doing that if they're abusing the power, like domestic violence cases..

in that case I think a vampire parent would have legal precedent for maintaining sire power over their child but is generally obligated to "free" their dependent by relinquishing the power they hold over them and giving them control over themselves when they're 18 or so.

Bite lore notes:

Bite's birth parents are not part of the relevant picture at all and he's not too torn up about it. he would've been turned & taken in by his vampire father as a child...he's basically his adoptive father but with an extra tangible power difference because of the vampire siring part.

Sire power: Bite's father can control how quickly he ages, because vampires can just do that for themselves if they have enough blood to feed on (a Lot of it) & could definitely force him to freeze on the spot n shit like that without touching him. of course. given enough time and legal documentation he could definitely make a legal case that his vfather has been forcing him to stay a child for well over the time hes supposed to have been an adult by now & have his autonomy handed to him by legal means. but that takes Time and Legal Documentation. and if his vdad destroys his birth certificate and all other records of his birth who's going to believe him?

somebody will, Given Enough Time, but trans allegory "holy fuck i dont want to wait several years until i can choose what to do to my own body" hes going fucking crazy.

SO: he kills his dad

except he can't, because of the stupid vampire siring thing. he can't kill his vampire sire. he can get reaaaallllll fucking close but no matter what he does he's going to HAVE to get someone else to finish the job for him.

if he destroys his dad's body thoroughly enough his dad loses his control over him tho! yay! he gets to physically be as old as he should be as long as he remembers to destroy his dad's living corpse every time it starts forming enough to start exerting control over him again

He does this for a good couple years at least & he's better but he's also incredibly Stuck now. if he lets his dad reform he's going to be back to square one and who knows what his dad will do to him in return? he's kept him on the absolute brink of death for several years theres no fucking way he's gonna be happy with him about that. He needs to find someone who's willing to kill his dad & not tell the cops about what he's done because there's no way hes not going to jail or worse.

These are the circumstances he's under when he comes across Bark & this is why he keeps asking Bark if he'd kill someone for him (like would you love me if i was a worm except worse because hes worse). also this is where IM stuck cos i cant decide how to end it

Either Bite's vdad relinquishes control to him or Bite's vdad is killed. there has to be some end to the cycle he's stuck in

His dad relinquishing control feels..incredibly anticlimactic but is also realistic to my experience. could not stand my dad but he gave up on micromanaging me and now we're chilling. i think theres definitely something about parent/child relationships that are extremely combative in teen years but then end up reconciling later when the kid has grown up some more & the parent has realized they're their own person and not some toy

Bark could kill Bite's dad. this is a good quandary for him because he does not want to hurt anyone but also comes to understand Bite's situation and realizes the reason Bite is such an awful individual to deal with is because he's got this shitshow of a cloud hanging over his head all the time. Plus Bark's also like. definitely hurting people because he's refusing to deal with his own shit. even though he doesnt mean to. atp what's one more

third secret option Bite manages to kill his dad himself. this would go extremely awfully for him im sure it would damage him extensively and also would not help his isolationist "im the only one that can save myself" problems in the slightest. but he would have a GREAT cry in Bark's arms about it. i could make him do that anytime though now that i think about it. hehehe (the haver of thoughts)

SO. thats all that. Maybe if I squint at Bark's set of problems and figure out how he gets fixed by the end this half will just knit itself together nicely when im not looking. such is the life. anyone who read and processed all 900 of those words is entitled to compensation ill doodle you something tbh. what do yuou guys think

ok so the guys are al (lead vocals/bass), lawrence (guitar), cleo (drums) and charlie (keyboard/rhythm guitar/anything else basically). and the band is flyford favell or sometimes just the flyford...

al isn't very good at his job as a bassist and he isn't the best singer in the world like all the other people in the band could probably out-sing him but he's also kind of bonkers. so he sings bc he's a good frontman and he's full of himself. he's a dick and everyone hates him which is very important. charlie doesn't hate him at first and they're close and go on vacation with each other and charlie's wife all the time until they have a mysterious falling out when charlie gets divorced and start having punch ups in the studio. he has a flop solo career and multiple divorces and endears himself to no one

lawrence is the main songwriter and he's very good at it for the short amount of time he's doing it. he also can actually play unlike al but his autistic swag prevents him from being the frontman. he's british for no reason other than i needed a reason to name the band after a random british village and he and cleo become really close friends during the uk tour and he's later the maid of honour at her wedding. he retires in 1972 which is part of the reason for the band breakup and buys a farm back home and disappears from the public eye until the mid-90s when he releases a critically acclaimed solo album which is a meditation on grief. and then he just kind of chills and has a nepotism britpop niece

cleo is probably the like. standout musician of the group and her drumming kind of becomes quite important to their whole sound :) she's been playing professionally since she was about 16 and sneaking out. she plays for a few bands before joining flyford and gets popular off that. she later relocated to london and forms her own band with her friend/then girlfriend sylvia called the mansa musas who are like. a proto-punk/experimental hard rock group. she never really gets the success she deserves but becomes kind of a cult figure and she stays as a session drummer throughout her life before she retires with her husband to the seaside (bc everyone is like 80 now.)

charlie is the only one with any musical training and he went to juilliard as a pianist because i think that's funny. he's my john cale. he's a pretty talented arranger and multi-instrumentalist and fills in on the band's later more ambitious arrangements. he and al have a tenuous interpersonal relationship, the details of which remain unknown to the public. once the band breaks up he disappears for a few years and then comes back and releases like 30 albums because he loves cocaine. and then he gets sober in the 90s. by present day he's hanging out with al again maybe he's about to keel over but people have said that for years and he hasn't yet. he's also chilling

they form in 1967 and break up in 1972. they have like 3 albums in that time, only one of them doing especially well and they tour the US/UK a couple of times. they start quite folk-rocky but by the time they break up they're more prog/hard rock/experimental ig? they're fun i love my guys :) we have a little wiki going for our made-up record company me and some friends + mutuals which is still a work in progress but if u wanted to read some more there's a lot here!! it's mostly full character stories and history and album details etc 😁 not all of it is mine just stuff to do with flyford and its members

Anyway- I have to admit when you followed me I was like... "Im... huh? Me???" bc lets face it, I'm a pretty new blog to the site. It's been quite the struggle making a name for myself and catching attention... but you found me and I was like "Man this WRITING.....but whomst the fuck is the character???"

And yes- SUREEEEE- ok I could have- gone and watched a few episodes or even a scene pack.... but I didnt... instead I chose to let you teach me who Tristan is organically through interaction and I am so glad that I did. I got to experience him the same way Katherine would realistically. Learn him through interaction and hearsay verses just going into it with a predetermined Idea of who he is.

Katherine knows a lot of things and is very well informed, but shes also got a lot of holes in her information and loves filling them even if shes terrified at first. Our thread has pushed my portrayal and helped me grow as a writer just from the very second I was asked to make the starter and I cant thank you enough.

And for the record? I have since seen several clips and even an episode or two with him in it, and your portrayal??? FLAWLESS.

You capture his complex personality and thought processes so wonderfully. Hes a genuine challenge for Katherine, shes not used to not being the smartest person in the room. It scares her but its also a THRILL, its been a long time since she was challenged and the game they play is one of her favourites.

Thank you for bringing such an amazing character to life so spectacularly, and then awarding me the honour of writing with him. It has truly been a thrill to pick out all of the details in your portrayal from the most obvious to the tiniest most obscure details... like colour theory <3

i literally just watched both those videos, in a huge binge of cute rogan and defending logan videos on youtube, and i love them both so much, they're so cute!!!

i just watched the four or so episodes after rory broke up with logan after honours wedding and am feeling indescribable rage!!!!! and sadness!!!!! like rory is treating HIM so badly now, always being ride and dissmissive and embaressing him, all because she just won't communicate about the fact she is still upset about the girls he was with when they were seperated. like i just feel so bad for him, like he is being so lovely and trying so hard to make good with her and she is just treating him like trash. i know what happens next and that things will be ok with them but rn im just really irritated at rory for being so shitty to him yk.

haa the romance is so good, i loved it in the beginning when they were both chasing after? tao ran n then when tao ran met his high school crush again they were both stuck in this awkward mutual commiseration stage n then they just... inadvertently flirt... n its super awkward... but then when they actually do start falling for each other... haa...

their romance has a v diff vibe from the usual danmei ideal of "you are my destined one, the only one for me in the entire universe, this lifetime (and the next)", theirs is more like "in this life, you may not be my first, but i've chosen you to be my last and i hope you will choose me too, for the rest of my life" n like... its a more realistic romance, a different flavor of sweet

how can i not say anything abt the ad ost, the ad ost is literal perfection, both yimo n xinggang!!! even the dialog bits they chose for the maoerfm ver ugh,,, i love the way both r similarly vibed dark dramatic ballads, similar but not the same so when one wants to have More, they can listen to the other song n feel fulfilled n satisfied even more, n the lyrics haa i love the lyrics

ok the dialog bits tho, i was super excited to get to the dialog in the beginning of yimo n wah its actually in extra 1 which is like past the ending but it fits so well n they sound so happy im cryig, n then for xinggang they chose the confession (!!!) for the beginning n the sad sad "i'm the last monster left, won't you lock me up in your house" line for the end n im!!!! its so perfect!!!!!!

I know its gonna be the hip thing to clown on malenia bc everyone is complaining about her boss fight as an outlet for it but im JUST saying she DID get cursed by an outer god and all and if you remember one of the early trailers of her fight with radahn, he smashes her prosthetic.

Given that 1. The arm socket is where Millicent inserts Miquellas Needle and 2. The broken needle is found in the heart of Aeonia. Its highly likely radahn smashed the needle in half with that strike, the sudden outer influence and her worn out state causing an inevitable dam burst (rewatching the scene, its a neat detail that she draws her own blood as a means of direct infection, given that the blade itself was immune to the scarlet rots decay).

I dont think it's really fair to call that "throwing a tantrum", and at the same time the worship of radahn reminds me that just bc he was benevolent to his own men doesnt mean that he couldnt be just as power hungry as any other shardbearer (sans morgott), as ranni already demonstrates the mutual exclusivity of affection, nobility, and morality

I'm at a bit of a loss regarding which angle I should be interpreting this from. It's an ask, as opposed to a post or a DM, so I'm assuming you want my take on it all? And at first glance I'd assume it'd be as response to me making funnies about Malenia yesterday, thus I should address it from that angle, but it could just also be your thoughts on the matter? I'll go with my gut and assume you want my take.

As I believe you know by now, I like to clown on characters in general because it's fun, and it's definitely not me huffing on a copium life support tank since I beat her third try on my second run and I've expressed several times that I do love her fight, and the one thing I had a big issue with -- Waterfowl Dance -- I've come to not mind as much.

There's definitely people that are going to dunk on her as an outlet for frustration, though, I agree, but I don't think that's a bad thing, it's Video Games, that's just how it's been all the time. What does concern me about the way you are framing that, however, is that it is akin to saying that there's no other reasons why anyone would be dunking on her except because they are huffing copium, which is outright incorrect, even, I dare say, from a design perspective.

Elden Ring's lore is sports. You pick the faction/leader you think its coolest to you and that's your favorite. You like Malenia a lot. That's great! Other people think Radahn is the coolest. That's great! Like you can find a lot of reasons to dunk on any demigod, there's plenty of stuff that can be said to dunk on Malenia. I think I've also been very explicit in my thoughts on Malenia, but I'll put it in unalloyed words for the record: I think she's got an extremely cool design and her boss fight is immensely cool, but I find her characterization to be very boring, barebones, and lackluster, especially when compared to the two groups of characters one would normally compare her to, the Demigods (practically all of which have more characterization or at least quirks and details to them than Malenia does) and the Cool Fromsoft Late Game Female Bosses (of which Lady Maria and Sister Friede, imo, have a LOT more going to them than Malenia does).

I'll be fair and say that there IS a factor of Malenia's that I think is very cool and that isn't her boss fight or design: The fact that she and Miquella are foils to each other. While Malenia is a tall, nigh-peerless warrior, Miquella was cursed with the body of a child and is famously a renowned inventor, his Unalloyed Gold series of inventions being absolutely crazy good and advanced, ranging from extremely effective prosthetics to needles that can outright halt the advance of an outer god alien super anthrax (Scarlet Rot). While Malenia's domain is the Scarlet Rot, Miquella's domain is the lush evergreen. There's a couple more ways in which they are foils to each other and I think that's pretty cool, but at the same time, it's something that necessitates her to be associated to another character, her brother, in order to even be present as a factor, and unfortunately, it keeps reminding me of something I don't like about Malenia: "My brother my brother my brother my brother my brother I am my brother's blade where is my brother Miquella."

So, in short, yes, there's definitely copium to be found, but also, there's a lot of reasons as to why anyone would dunk on her regardless, and we shouldn't pretend or frame it otherwise. Maybe you didn't mean it that way, but that's how it came across.

This is a good theory that I like, because it accounts for details and a solid possibility, but there's also, if mind serves, several instances and accounts that mention Malenia having deliberately gone hog wild with the Scarlet Rot as a desperation move because Radahn was giving her so much trouble. I think Millicent herself said something to that effect at one point, though I don't truly remember her dialogue to the detail. Yes, it could be that one is meant to look for details in the way your theory does... Or It Could Also Just Be Malenia Doing That. Both are perfectly fine guesses. "Throwing a tantrum", in my opinion, is still an apt interpretation, if one that can be contested with what you said, but apt nonetheless.

Which leads me to this point. I am going to assume you do not mean me when you say this because the only thing I've said as praise towards Radahn is that he learned turbo gravity magic from a scary tall man in a diaper all so he could keep riding his shitty beloved horse, but it's in the ask and it allows me to go back to something I believe is very important to consider:

Elden Ring Lore Is Sports. Like sports fans, some people will dunk on the others that aren't their favorite. That's completely fine, literally all of these demigods are power hungry. My favorite Elden Ring meme is that one that's like "mfers will complain about Queen Marika and then put a new dictator on the throne" with Ranni on the background, which is like, completely a possibility, even though I'm Rannisquad. Literally none of these people are altruistic. That's fun, narratively. Radahn gets brownie points for being benevolent to his men and due to how he vowed to keep the rot at bay, fighting it for a VERY long time (which gives him, unsurprisingly , good PR in and out of universe), but he's still very much a power hungry participant of the war of succession. Morgott, my favorite alongside Ranni among the demigods, is someone I fully do not agree with ideologically speaking, because he may not be power hungry, but he's still protecting a status quo that very clearly is not in benefit of anyone except his Golden Order peers and believers. Rykard, my favorite after Ranni and Morgott among the Demigods, has the right idea, going against the Erdtree, but the way he's going at it is the most fucked up and even self-destructive way, presumably because he's gone full hedonist, and yet, he's the one that is outright the closest to the mark out all of Demigods, because producing a single, incredibly powerful champion IS the right idea, even though he's methods of producing this champion are beyond barbaric.

This is literally just pick your sports team because you like them more than the others. There's no real cut and dry morality here, because everyone's vile to some degree. Malenia clearly inspired immense loyalty among her warriors as a powerful and charismatic, but her flaw is being incredibly narrow sighted and, if you subscribe to the theory of her having deliberately unleashed the rot, which again, is a valid theory to have, unconcerned with the long term consequences of her actions in the moment. And if I don't like that, I don't like that, Cool Female Character or not.

I think Elden Ring and its factions are far better enjoyed when you look at it through the lens of It's Sports: The fans of the other teams have their reasons, you have your reasons, now let's make Funny Content or lore posts or anything, because every Demigod has good things and bad things that can be said about them, and ideologies you can agree and disagree with. I think the purest form of this is Ranni, in order to help you or anyone understand where I am coming from: Ranni 100% is not a good person, she's done fucked up things, confirmed or implied or otherwise, and she explicitly wants to have power over the Lands Between. She's also someone that can become your personal friend and lover, and very very much adores those she loves, like the Tarnished if they side with her, her brother Blaidd, her uncle Iji, and her often forgotten beloved teacher and mentor, the Ice Witch. She's not a good Demigod, but she's your Demigod. I think that's the way to go about Elden Ring, personally.

there was something terrifying about falling in love with your best friend that annabeth had never prepared herself for. things had always been a little precarious between them, fragile like the ground they stood on would shatter if they made the wrong move. once she and percy started dating, annabeth had hoped that would disappear, but it only got worse.

she should've known how fast she would fall in love with percy. she had practically started falling when they met four years ago. but now, it was real. they were together. she was terrified that the floor beneath them would break if she made the wrong move, held his hand at the wrong time, kissed him at the wrong moment. everything was so awkward sometimes, and they were still getting over the friendship to relationship bump.

as she laid in his bed with him, tucked away in the tiny room of his manhattan apartment, annabeth didn’t realize how tense she was until percy asked, “are you okay?”

she blinked. “what?”

“you seem nervous…” he said. he shifted and they were laying on their sides now, facing each other. they didn’t have a lot of space between them because of his twin size bed, but they still weren’t touching. she swallowed hard, ready to push down these thoughts, when he reached out and took her hand. “talk to me.”

annabeth realized then that talking was the thing that would get them through this awkward phase. so she took a breath. “i feel like we’re just a little bit of a weird space going from friends to dating,” she admitted. “and i’ve been a little bit scared.”

percy let out a quiet breath. “scared?” he whispered.

“of how much i feel for you,” she admitted, unable to look him in the eyes. “everything is so… fragile, i guess, and im worried about messing it up.”

he nodded, bringing their hands up to his lips to kiss her knuckles. “i think you’re putting too much pressure on yourself,” he whispered. “nothing changed, really. we’re still us, we just… kiss.”

annabeth chuckled softly. “it is a little different, though,” she said. “i mean, i think i’m falling in love with you. which is a little scary given my track record with love.”

something in percy’s eyes flickered and his smile grew. “well, i think i’m okay with that considering the feeling is mutual.”

annabeth felt warmth spread throughout her chest. that was something she hadn’t quite experienced with love. reciprocation. loyalty. all the people she’d loved and trusted before had let her down. somehow, she knew it would be different this time.
