#yugioh arc v #yugioh arc-v #arc-v #shun #yuto #comic #duel links #sorry for the long format but OOH it looks so clean when its all in one line!!! #this almost didn't make it out of my wip jail cells because i spent 30 mins on one of the panels #using references and everything but it just looked super duper odd and it was a waste of time overall #and don't even get me started on the toning (clenches fist) nothing was looking right at one point #but enough about the process i want to talk about the comic itself #part of the motivation for drawing this was seeing all the fluffy shunyoot celebration pics during his roaming event #they ARE cute but also i really really wanted so badly to see shun's visceral reaction that didn't reduce him to mere comedic fodder #(something i'm also guilty of) #so anyway like we always say in ygos we make our own food #wow im rambling anyways the last line of dialogue i had most trouble with but also the most proud of #no shade to the writers of the show (ok maybe like a LITTLE shade) but with this comic i really wanted to reflect the feelings of both #fans of the show as well as fans that left after the ending because that was something i saw floating on jp twitter during the roaming even #and it really made me Think #also can we talk about how in the event yuya was just like hey shun i have a surprise for you!!! haha :] #he was THERE when shun said never appear in front of me ever again did he think shun would just be omg yuto :) #this is why youre my favourite (yuya) #anyways last but not least #the final yuto panel is a healthy mix of guilt + existential dread and doubt about his own existence i hope that was obvious enough

HATS in One Piece

Sabos hat is central to his identity. He was found with it, it's the only reason he knows his name, it's the thing that connected him to his past through his amnesia. Watching someone else wear it would be really weird for him. Like seeing someone else wearing his underwear or face

Ace's hat isn't nearly as foundational to him as Sabo and Luffys. It was a gift from Luffy so of course he loves it, but it's really just one of his things. Yeah sure it's one of the things people know and identify him by, but he's just as likely to be referenced to new guys as the fire logia as the guy with the cowboy hat. He like it because he likes the way it makes him look. It part of the him that he presents. Most likely to find it sexy for you to wear it. 

Luffys hat is his greatest treasure and a symbol of his most important promise. For him letting you wear his hat is about trust, comfort, and the symbolism of a promise. He can't understand seeing it as sexy

Law thinks you look kind of stupid in his hat. No he doesn't see how that's a condemnation of his own taste it works on him okay.

getting a sudden resurgence of art motivation is such a blessing and a curse tbh. bc on one hand im drawing a lot and having a lotta fun doing so but on the other hand i wanted to make Even More secret stuff for atbb that requires drawing so i told myself i would make a few very sketchy things that would have to be quick and don't have to be Insane Awesome Quality since they'll be blurry as hell in the final product anyway and i have like less than a week / a couple days at most to get it all ready in time

so anyways now it's 3am and i just finished the first of what i still want to do after 3 days

first one is a fine line quote in my bro’s (very childlike) handwriting on my left arm, and second is the (beginning of a) parkour tattoo on my right thigh, also for my bro 🥰

#i’m gonna get the parkour one touched up and added onto later #i kinda had to tap out on the shading lmao so it will be filled in around the letters #and i’ll level out the bottom before adding some floral and geometric motifs around it #tbh it’s totally fine with me if the lettering part never turns out ‘perfect’ anyway like the whole idea is a big inside joke #that has to do with injuries and my bro doing parkour growing up #so it feels kind of fitting as is? #i just want to tidy up the letters even out the bottom arch and finish filling it #and then add a bunch of fun stuff around that’s really clean and ‘pretty’ #like my bro would like it already by concept alone and just be like ‘ok very you’ after adding all the pretty stuff around it #and bc they’re both memorial pieces that’s all i really want in the end 🫶 #but yeah considering my friend is still in tattoo school and quite early in still i’m really proud of them!! #the arm tattoo especially im v sentimental about and i’m so impressed w how well #they were able to emulate his handwriting so 💗💗 big win for my heart #alex talks
