Do you think that -in the inevitable MK vs. his friends confrontation- Mei will accidentally seriously hurt him with the Samadhi fire? 🤔

Since strong emotions can cause it to run haywire, and there is nothing that would make her more afraid than having to fight her best friend.

There is NO way that they are completely done with the Samadhi fire. (Unless she lost it?? Subodhi did say she 'once' wielded it. So not anymore???)

But yeah- I bet it would come back into play during the MK/Mei battle. Especially if LBD mistook MK‘s destiny for her own. (Since that one vision she showed made it look like MK was burning before the world exploded. And she wanted everything he ended up having; the staff, his own powers, the Samadhi fire -indirectly, and well, a new title that implies destruction on a reality shattering scale.)

My view is that post the Embrace Your Destiny special, they resealed the Samadhi Fire (unsure if Mei still has her piece with her or if they successfully resealed it into 3 rings this time). We at the very least know she doesn't have it in s4 (MK has to save her in 4x01, she's worried about losing her sword in 4x05 which she didn't need with the Samadhi Fire in EYD, the Subodhi quote you mentioned). But, I don't think Mei using the Samadhi Fire again is completely out of the question. There are things that have come back that I never expected to be acknowledged again (The 1x01 seal being the same as the 4x01 and 4x14 flower fruit mountain seal was a huge shocker for me).

So the Samadhi Fire coming back into play with the MK/Mei battle? That would work super well! Especially with the way characters tend to reach for power and endanger their loved ones. It's a huge risk to take again, but if they feel they don't have any other choice it's something we know they're willing to resort to.

Hello! Considering how you now write for Chiori, and that I highly appreciate your Genshin headcanons... I think it's about time I grant you the honor of my first ever tumblr ask 👀

How would Chiori act with a S/O who is more on the sensitive side, the kind to not appreciate harsh words, or having people raise their voices at them? (totally not me checking my own hypothetical compatibility with her)

We know she can basically use her sass to roast people on the spot (not to mention her skills in graceful arcs making) in public, though during her SQ, we also get to see a somewhat softer side from her, when in a more private environment/with friends... But she also went "ugh eww ugh" when Xavier cried in joy during the 4.3 movie event.

So... that got me genuinely wondering. Feel free to add more characters if you feel inspired/like doing that (how their behavior with S/O would change depending of the setting being in public or in private?), and have a nice day 😊

(Genshin Impact) Chiori with a softer S/O

I am honored that I am your first blog you ask! Hopefully you enjoy!

Chiori honestly does not act that differently, even in private or when she has a S/O.

She has never apologized for being herself, and that would not change no matter what.

And if someone got with her, they would know that when they decided she was the person they loved.

Even if the person she spoke to was an absolute sweetheart, Chiori doesn't mince words in the slightest.

(Chiori) "...S/O, you are not going out in those rags. Here, let me pick something out for you."

She doesn't really hold anything back because she loves her S/O, and the fact they love her means she can unapologetically be herself.

That being said, she isn't heartless.

Chiori tries to phrase things slightly more gently. Such as:

(Chiori) "What I want for my birthday? Hm, I would like new tools...Keep it a surprise? Why would I do that when you can just get me something I like?"

Key word being: tries

She's at least tactful enough to not make them cry from her usual harsh words.

In private, she can get a little more handsy than usual.

She just sits on the bed and lays her head on their shoulders, taking a deep sigh.

(Chiori) "...You must be tired too. Go ahead and rest your head on me."

Her love language is definitely acts of service than words, which goes both ways.

She'd rather show why she loves her gentle S/O, than just tell them.

And that comes across in the clothes she tailors for them, never ever skipping on any expense.

(Chiori) "This kimono will match that perfectly with that pretty smile of yours, now quit squirming. I gotta take the measurements..."

Since they don't like anyone raising their voices at them, Chiori is the first one to step in to apply verbal or physical violence upon anyone doing so.

It doesn't matter who they are, if someone tries to pick on her sweetheart, than they're going to be picking glass out of their clothes.

Mentioning some events that I liked in the midst of beefing with LWs' writers. It's mostly due to very specific things that occur in the events rather than the events themselves to be completely honest with you.

-Casual and fun beach event. Can't go wrong there. Good moments envolving most of the characters. Nomad, Azazel, Kengo, and Oniwaka in particular for me. They deprived me of Azazel content, so this is my only morsel to latch onto. Plus we got SQ Galore, including ones for Mononobe and Lil Salomon.

-The softcore discussion of gender dysphoria was a pleasant surprise and I liked the parallels drawn between MC and Astarte as "trophies". In particular, I liked how this event revealed how much the other guys actually love MC. They were completely indifferent towards Astarte while she was the beloved, which was super weird to her, and when MC switched places with her, they immediately clocked that something was off, but not because they could visually tell MC was obviously not Astarte. They just thought Astarte was more radiant than usual. They were all over MC and giving away their shells because they're MC, not because they were the beloved.

-That scene where Heracles falls into Narcissus' Pond and he comes to the realization that his narcissism and cowardness was what led to Hylas' fate. He thought that a hero of his caliber was too precious to even risk being lost to the naiads, especially not for a guy who was practically beneath him. Heracles put himself before the life of his friend who was willing follow him to hell and back, abandoning him, and he regrets it. The parallels to Hylas' abduction with Heracles' fall as well as dialouge and narration as MC dives after him are an absolute banger. "I knew. I knew you'd come. Not by another's comand but your own free will. Your radiance makes me want to weep. Before you, the thought of the man who failed to follow Hylas makes me want to cry." MC took the leap Heracles never did for Hylas, making them a better person than himself. Such a great moment. Absolutely adored it.

-First of all, exile reveal. Second of all, the reveal that Shiro's crush is more of an all-consuming OBSESSION. Always thinking of them. Always following them whatever path they decide to take. Knowing that they relied on him was his greatest source of happiness. He wanted to help them, to shoulder any and all of their burdens in the hopes that they would eventually feel the same way as him. Shiro was desperately striving for an insane, unhealthy co-dependent relationship where MC validates him by constantly needing him to help them and it's just ?!?!? This came way out of left field.

-Algernon. Algernon. Algernon. I absolutely loved it when he randomly got jealous and tried to change the topic when MC called Yamasachihiko hot. I love that he found someone who could keep up with him, an equal, in MC. I loved that they did a little tapdance routine together while killing the slimes. Oh. And Hombre Tigre. I'm not really a big fan of him. I just really like how interesting his dynamic with Quetzalcoatl is compared to everyone else. Hombre adoring Tezcatlipoca so much that he couldn't even begin to grasp why Quetzalcoatl would leave him behind and envying him for being the one who could consume Tezcatlipoca's thoughts and breaking him in such a manner.

-Sherlock Nomad and Assistant MC, the event we had all been waiting on. Anyways, y'all should know why I liked this event. It's that one scene where they beat Hermes' and he's just sitting on the floor like a pouty little kid when MC grabs his hand and he continues his little tantrum by telling them to let go while doing nothing to stop them. Hermes finally found a friend who could look past all of his lies and accept him with MC and I'm very happy for the bastard.

-That whole chase scene where Balor reveals that he's actually been a twat this entire time and he goes after MC, trying to capture them, is mwah. Love it. Also when Boogeyman triggered that ratfuck, Balor's, PTSD with his sacred artifact just the reveal that Lugh never had a choice in the matter and that Balor caused this fate to be forced upon him, something that he feared for himself in the first place. And the reveal that Balor didn't exactly regret killing his grandson. It was just the fact that Lugh didn't choose to fight him himself.

-The way Vapula was completely indifferent to his golemns until the very end where they're all silently gazing out into the sea after Sand Dragon self-deleted while following orders and are clearly fucked up about what they just witnessed, truly understanding how morbid Sand Dragon's existence was and the inevitability of his death, when MC turns to Vapula and says "Vapula.... We never got to name him" and Vapula just starts BAWLING.

-Oh look. A well executed plot twist. Loved the way that they conveyed Horus and Seth's true bond through how compatible and fluidly their memories were able to work together to fight against the group. Then there's the use of Seth's old memories to reveal that Horus had been on his side the entire time and that he was even the one who let him flee Duat. Also, an expansion on what seemed to be such a simple rule. Being able to control the sand being way more powerful than expected through a technicality.

-This one might actually be my favorite event. No. Not because it's a Fuxi or bird event. Shut your slut mouth. Banger music, great story, great picks for the characters and the dynamics, an exile reveal. Fuxi being so unhinged that he tries to fight literal children and Simurgh playing the straight man to his funny man will always be funny. Also, there was just that one moment where MC went "pull the trigger pussy" while Simurgh held a gun to their head and that's so based of them. Mostly dissapointed we didn't get more Nüwa lore.

2. Reynie - I love how relatable he is, especially when he doubts himself, such as when he worries he's a bad person for liking the Whisperer (never mind that it operates similar to a drug) or when he fears he is bad for thinking they should cheat on tests. I also LIVE for his unhinged moments, like in TPJ when he yeets Noland's radio and later, Risker's diamond into the water. Like, Reynie, you absolute cinnamon roll, what are you doing??????

Sticky - that he's canonically very HandsomeTM and can pull anyone he wants!!! I love that for him, he deserves it. They just have to understand his love language of obscure words first...(oh and also he's braver than he thinks but you asked for my personal favorites and that's definitely mine)

Kate - Basically everything -- she's my favorite character overall -- but I think it's her positivity in the face of danger, her ability to bounce back from everything she's faced in her life. One line that still sticks with me is when Reynie says "'It's not funny, Kate.' For a moment - a fleeting moment - Kate looked desperately sad. 'Well, of course it's not funny, Reynie Muldoon. But what do you want me to do? Cry?'” It could come off as a little toxic positivity, but I feel like it's done in a way where that's just her personality, where she's not trying to influence others to act the same way, and I love that!!! I lean towards the optimistic side like her and it makes me happy to see someone like that in a book series I love so much.

Constance - definitely her sass and that one monologue in Riddle of Ages where she finally snaps after feeling excluded the whole book...not to mention feeling hurt Reynie thought she was annoying (even though she knew that was a temporary thought and NOT his true feelings)...oooof...that hurt, I can relate Connie girl :(

5. This is actually super hard!! I love music and I love MBS but for some reason I've never really associated the two together. Weird right? Here's my best shot!

As a group - Right Back to Where We Started From by Maxine Nightingale (because they need a feel-good family bop)

Reynie - Under Pressure by Queen ft. David Bowie (to describe his pressure as the leader)

Sticky - Lonely by Imagine Dragons (to describe his anxiety)

Kate - I'm Still Standing by Elton John (to describe her bouncing back from hardship)

Constance - I Don't Care by Fall Out Boy (to describe her stubborn nature -- plus I like to listen to this when I'm mad so it fits lol)

20. Reynie - if we're talking show, definitely SQ!!! I feel like they're both introspective and kind-hearted, and they would've made great bffs had things been different. In the books, to spice things up, I would've loved to see a young Nicholas and Reynie meet up -- they definitely would have been besties since as an adult, Nicholas always seems to know what Reynie is thinking. I do think they would still need someone like John to stand up for them since Nicholas had that gaggle of bullies on his back and he didn't Home Alone them/somehow persuade them to back off until later.

Sticky - For the books, a young Number Two. They're alike in a lot of ways and it just makes sense :) (not that they can't be besties at their current ages, but this is for adventuring possibilities, like with Nicholas). As for show Sticky, I think it would be highly entertaining if Jackson and Jillson had taken a liking to him while he's at LIVE. They find his intelligence and wit interesting and he's a favorite of Curtain so they start following him around too. At first, Sticky hates this but with time he starts to enjoy their harmonious presence, and how they seem to know what he's thinking. An ideal friendship? Maybe not. But certainly unique. I’d also love to see how this affects season 2.

23. Kate and Constance - the very talented @magic-swords-art drew this image of Kate and Constance after I asked and I can't stop thinking about it!!! 🥹🥹🥹❤️❤️❤️

I actually don't read fics of Dracula (even though I know I should) but I guess something I don't like in actual movie adaptations of the story is when they leave him out, which is unfortunately most of them. Like hello????? You're leaving the most fun character out????!!!!! What's wrong with y'all?!?! I know it's because it's a Serious Story and they think having a cowboy will ruin that but newsflash: comedy can exist in a drama, it's been done before. Plus, the Dracula musical made it work. I don't see the issue here.

25. I saw the musical my freshman year of high school and one of my friends played Quincey. My first thought was, “there’s a COWBOY?!?!!?!?!?!” They definitely made him even more of a comic relief in the musical so that was fun to experience, but he didn’t get much more than that, iirc. Then, years later, I would read Dracula Daily and get to Quincey introduction. My first thought was, “THERE’S A COWBOY?!?!?” That’s right, I forgot this fact! Though as I read the book, I totally love what Stoker did with his character. For Quincey being a total stereotype of what a Texas cowboy is, Stoker still gives us ways to follow this character’s growth in an interesting way. Sure he starts as another suitor of Lucy, but when things get serious, Quincey does too. He actually knows what to do to hunt Dracula down (he is a cowboy after all and they did have to defend their cattle from various predators) and his role as comic relief gets pushed to the wayside so it doesn’t change the tone too much (see Dracula adaptations?!). You really feel for him and love him as the book goes on and you don’t want to see anything bad happen to this character. So tl;dr my impression is rootin’-tootin’ cowboy with a heart of gold. 🤠💛

6. So I feel like I am also the Comic ReliefTM in my friend group (though they’re also funny, I’m usually cracking jokes 95% of the time) and while that’s great, it can lead to outside people underestimating me or seeing me as frivolous/ditzy. I feel like that’s why Quincey keeps getting pushed to the wayside by movie adaptations— they see his character as not worth the trouble, even though I think audiences would absolutely love him given the chance. I mean look at Dracula Daily!! There were so many Quincey memes and love. In fact he’s in my top three fave characters (I’m sorry, he’s beat by Mina the train fiend)! So I guess we kind of have that in common. On a more fun note, his proposal was S-Tier and I hope to propose to someone, or be proposed to, with that same level of goofy sincerity. :P Oh, and I say “y’AlL” so we have that in common as well.

I share that opinion. I'm just so... baffled, I guess, by how the Traveler and Paimon were acting throughout Furina's SQ. One might say it's proof of how much the Traveler in particular is changing, from sweet and trusting to a more aloof figure, but c'mon, they've had interactions with people who tried to kill them and now they are on good terms.

Personally, I was just hoping during the entire quest that they would leave Furina to rest. Poor girl deserves it. Let her have her macaroni and her peace! Heck, they only visited her because of some NPC's troubles, not to see how she was doing.

Poor babygirl doesn't even know who she is anymore. I believe that would have been a better path to explore in her SQ. What will she do now? What will be her new hobbies? How about teaching her a recipe the Traveler has mastered from another country? Nothing about acting for now, perhaps in the future when she is better.

I- uff. There is just so much that could have been. This is a great part of why I've enjoyed your fics so much - they are a catharsis.

I've said it before but literally the way that MC and Paimon interact with Furina in her SQ is like "How NOT to Interact With Someone Who Has Depression and Trauma 101." And God, I didn't even think about it until you mentioned it but yeah, they weren't even checking up on Furina because they were worried, they were checking in because she was the best fit for a job. >:/ Jesus Christ...

Like, there's better ways to show that a character is becoming less and less kind this was just. It was tone deaf at best and downright meanspirited, at worst; where was this energy before for people who ACTUALLY deserved it? At the very least, I am proud that Furina refused to budge on her boundaries and the only reason she performed was the other lady literally couldn't at the 11th hour and there was nothing else to do.

It would have been so much better to explore things that Furina had interest in and try and help her navigate who she is and what she wants to do and just. Be a shoulder. And MC and Paimon just.. weren't really that. Like, she vents at some point and then Paimon is like "oh i thought you were just a diva" like man. She is TRYING to be vulnerable with you.. I get what you mean but like. PLEASE just be quiet sometimes.

She should have been given more time to heal and just...rest and she was not and I'm mad about it.

Big reason why I made these fics, they're catharsis for me, too. Genshin is good sometimes but a lot of the time there's so much of "this could have been more" and when it's not enough for me, I write.

I think it says a lot that Wanderer is like. In the ACTIVE process of healing. He's still unlearning things and slowly allowing himself to show that he cares more and more, in underhanded ways, and he's figuring out who he is and I think he'd be the perfect friend for Furina, cuz of that. At his core, he is a protector (I mean he literally helped raise that kid and take care of him, and even in his time in the Fatui it talks about how he was gentler to older people and kids he is a big softy at heart, he's just been hardened over centuries of trauma), and I like the idea of him protecting Furina. Not because she can't defend herself but just. Cuz he wants to.

I mean Emotion KIND of did that but it was... rushed and extremely unsatisfying. Love how they just sweep all of Felix's valid points under the rug because obviously that was the resolution to all of the conflicts between him and Maribug. They're friends and he agrees with her 100% now

Yeah, like I wouldn't have been against Felix and Marinette coming to terms with each other about sentis and teaming up to dunk on Gabriel or engaging in a little "enemy of my enemy is guy I will suppress the urge to step on toes of so I can get rid of Butterfly Baldcap", and I genuinely consider "Emotion" a good episode - but the way the show just (unintentionally because let's face it they probably weren't thinking about the longterm) makes everything he did in "Strikeback/Risk"... absolutely worthless in terms of character conflict/SQ shake up and reduces the situation to "he's just not getting enough smooches from a cute girl" because they don't want to address the plotline (and frankly messed up meta-narrative) they set up with the sentis. It's honestly insulting to both of them that neither actually gets to properly confront the other on their views and have the entire conflict taken out of their hands with "Oh it's fine, Kagami says he's cool so he's cool - now no more worry about Felix causing Marinette to have a panic attack/doubt her relationship with Adrien, Felix's views on humans, and that idea of Marinette killing sentient creatures via the sentimonsters we introduced."

Things I think about Jackson and Jillson

After they get away from Curtain, I definitely agree that they would live with SQ and Martina in Stonetown.

Jillson gets a job at a bookstore, and she learns that she just loves reading. There weren't a lot of books at the Institute, but SQ's apartment is right next to a bookstore that the Benedict humans frequent, so he's friends with the staff and vouches for Jillson.

Her favourite thing to read is poetry, and she spends all her breaks reading through whatever she can get her hands on. The owners are really nice, and let her borrow whatever books she wants since she's so incredibly careful with them. A couple of times she even tried writing her own poetry, but she keeps it a little secret journal and doesn't let anyone see it. (Except SQ one time and he said it was really good but she felt horribly self-conscious and they never spoke of it again)

Jackson starts working at a pet store, through a similar relationship SQ has with the owners. At first, he is extremely hesitant and only does menial work like restocking and sweeping. But one day one of the puppies escapes and Jackson happens to be nearby. It runs right at him, and even though it scares him a little he catches it, and when the person in charge gets over there, the puppy is totally calm.

They put him in for a trial period, and after a couple days he gets over his fear and does great. He's much happier working with the animals, and he gets to be one of the head dog trainers. All of the critters love him, and he gets a pet snake at some point, since they can't have dogs in the apartment building. (It's a little corn snake and he names him Jason and he loves him)

One day Mr. Benedict and some of the others come to the bookstore, and Jillson freaks out. She hasn't spoken to them since Curtain, and they'd begged SQ not to tell the Benedicts about them staying with him, so she isn't sure how to react. She isn't even paying attention initially, because she's reading, but when they all come up to the cash register she looks up and freezes. In the end, she just does her job without making eye contact or speaking if she can help it.

Mr. B and the kids try to make her comfortable, though Constance almost asks point-blank what she's doing there, but Reynie shushes her. Jillson comes home that day utterly mortified and locks herself in the bathroom to hyperventilate over the situation. Jackson eventually gets her to come out, and they talk through it.

Jillson feels like they probably hate her, and while she knows better now, neither of them were especially kind to the kids while they were at the Institute. Jackson also regrets his decisions, but right then he's more concerned about Jillson, who has decided she's going to quit her job and never leave the apartment again.

However, once Jackson's mostly got her calmed down, there's a knock at the door. The bookstore owners had been talking about how much help Jillson was, and how excited she got when they let her borrow books, so the kids wanted to bring some of their own for her to look at.

SQ lets them in, and of course J&J are terribly nervous, and Jackson tries to cover it by acting super polite and distracting them from Jillson, who has gotten very quiet, but Sticky and Constance go over and start talking to her about her favourite poets, and once SQ tells them that Jackson is working at the pet shop Reynie and Kate have a lot of questions for him about that.

So the two of them relax, and Mr. Benedict invites them over for dinner, and though they're reluctant, SQ and Martina do a lot of cajoling (Since they're way more comfortable with the Benedicts at this point), and they all go. At the end of the night, both them have apologised to each person at least twice, and they thank Mr. Benedict profusely for being so kind to them.

He, of course, is very gracious and tells them they're welcome any time.

A few days later, the two of them show up with (Slightly burnt) cookies and a full apology speech. It takes them a while to understand that they don't have to work for forgiveness, but Martina and SQ help, and they all end up happier for it

Tales of Kamiya dojo is written by Kaoru Kurosaki and published along with the “Rurouni Kenshin Hokkaido” arc in JUMPSQ. The tale involves the Rurouni Kenshin character in daily life that takes time between Kenshin and Kaoru marriage until the epilogue chapter in the original manga before the Hokkaido Arc. Until this month (July 2023) there are a total 67 chapters in Tales of Kamiya dojo. This is an unofficial translation.

The Kamiya Dojo. Now the sacred dojo was overflowing with soft, fluffy rabbits. At first, Kaoru lost her composure, not knowing what to do with this rabbit-covered situation, but as she stroked the rabbit's fluffy fur, she gradually regained her composure.

“I'm starting to feel like I can go along with them. Don't you think so too, Kenshin?”

“We can't leave them in the dojo all the time, so let's build a rabbit hutch in the backyard.”

Kenshin and Kaoru were somewhat taken by the soothing feeling of the rabbit and they felt that they could keep it.

“Then may I come sometimes and pet them?"

Even Tsubame, who was rarely assertive, unusually expressed her own opinion. The power of fluffiness was truly amazing.

“How cute—“

“They are cute.”

“So cute!”

Kaoru, Kenshin, and Tsubame stroke the rabbits with a smile on their face. Only the word ‘cute’ came out from their mouth. 

“Hey you all! Don’t forget about our problem.”

“Ah, Yahiko. You don’t think rabbits are cute?”

“No, I don’t talk about how cute they are. What we need to talk about is what we're going to do about them, okay?”

“Oh, that's right. Then, I will make a plan for the construction of the rabbit hutch.”

Kenshin stood up.

“Are you sure you want to keep them?” Yahiko asked.

“I mean, they are so fluffy.”

“What are we going to feed them?”

“They'll probably eat grass around here. They're rabbits, after all.”

Kaoru was eager to keep it, but Yahiko was against it.

“Even if you build a rabbit hutch, how are you going to clean it? They will just drop their poop all over the place and never clean up after themselves. Besides, they will probably have a lot of babies. Soon there won't be enough room on the dojo grounds.”

“Oh, really?”

Kaoru’s eyes got bigger.

“Come to think of it, I've heard that rabbits are having a lot of children.”

Tsubame said.

“Cute is not enough to keep a living creature, you know.”

“I see, that is true. But we can't keep them in the dojo forever, so we have to give them at least a temporary home.”

“Even if we can't keep this many rabbits at home, what should we do then?”

“I'm sorry, but Tae-san said we can't take them into Akabeko…”

Yahiko argued rightly, Kenshin pondered, Kaoru was troubled, and Tsubame had no choice but to apologize.

It's a roundabout way. In the end, no good ideas came to mind, and the four of them were at a loss.

Then,

“Wow, why are there so many rabbits here? They're so cute!”

“Kyaw!”

Misao and Kenji's voice.

Misao and Megumi had just returned and were surprised to see the state of the dojo. They had taken Kenji out for a walk to make time for Kaoru to practice. Although training every day is a battle against oneself, she could do it with the help from her friends. 

“They were thrown into Akabeko?”

Megumi was disturbed when she heard Yahiko’s explanation.

“What do you think life is worth? I'm going to call the police first. I'm off.”

But Kaoru stopped Megumi as she was leaving the dojo.

"Is this matter really that big to deal with the police? Why don't you just keep them at home?"

“I don't think so. I heard that there is a tax on rabbits in Tokyo. I think it's a daily tax, so you should be charged on a daily basis for just one day of keeping rabbits.”

“Eh! Tax?”

“Do you still want to keep them? These many rabbits.”

“...”

Kaoru shook her head.

“I can't believe if I'm going to have to pay taxes…”

“Unreasonable,right?”

“Why are you taxing such an adorable thing?"

Misao was furious.

“The Meiji government can’t be forgiven!”

“This is a big subject, Misao-dono. However, this is the first time I've heard of a tax being placed on such a thing,” Kenshin replied.

“I heard it when I was at Kanryu's place. He said the rabbit market was great before the tax was imposed on them and he said he made a lot of money from it. Just before the tax was imposed, he got some information and decided to stay out of it, so he won a lot of money and started to be an arms dealer with the money he made.”

“Kanryu... He's a man who's only smart with money, isn't he?” Kenshin commented.

“Why didn't he use his brain for something else? I remember it well because at that time I had just come out of Aizu, and I thought Tokyo was a dreadful place to tax rabbits.”

“I see..”

“Well, I don't care about Kanryu.”

Megumi cut off the topic. 

“This is harassment against Akabeko, so we can't handle it on our own. I think the first thing we should do is go to the police station and ask for advice. Let's ask the police to take back this large number of rabbits,” Megumi added.

“Ah...my fluffy bunnies…”

“What a pity…”

Kaoru and Tsubame looked regretful. However, they could not turn their backs. The rabbits were fluffy, but if they didn't want to give them up, they would have to pay taxes on them.”

“Besides, we have to find the culprit, don't we? So this is the police's task.”

Kaoru was taken aback by Megumi's words.

“The culprit?”

“Because someone is harassing Akabeko, right? We have to catch them."

“I see, that's one way to think about it.”

Kaoru nodded as if she had gained a new idea about it.

“You... Maybe the fluffy bunny rabbit has made you stupid? Or were you always stupid from the start?”

“I'm not stupid, you're being rude.”

Kaoru was annoyed, apparently she was a bit more stupid in front of the rabbit.

For the time being, they loaded as many rabbits as they could onto the big two-wheeled cart, and the group headed for the police station.

They approached a police officer standing guard with a six-foot pole in front of the police station.

“Excuse me, we bring this...”

Kaoru stammered and pointed to the bamboo basket filled with rabbits on the platform of the cart. It was difficult to explain.

“Something like.., property lost?”

Megumi, who couldn't bear to look at it, changed the explanation.

“A lot of rabbits were thrown into Akabeko.We think this incident is a case of harassment”

Hearing the word "incident," the police officer on duty straightened his posture.

“Is  Akabeko the beef hot pot restaurant?”

“Yes, yes.”

“Is it the one that was shot and wrecked by a cannon bomb two years ago?”

“You talk like a jerk, don't you? But, yes. That's the Akabeko that was destroyed by the cannon attack before.”

When Megumi confirmed twice, the policeman straightened his back even more than he had straightened earlier.

Then, he saw Kenshin came pulling the big two-wheeled cart.

“Oh, from Kamiya Dojo…”

“Yes, I'm glad you know about our dojo!”

“So, Akabeko... I'll immediately report to my superior.”

The policeman’s color face changed and he strode quickly into the station.

“I hope Akabeko didn't make a bad impression on the customers. 

Kaoru looked a little worried as she saw the policeman's back to her.

“That incident was so big. That's why we changed the uniforms to western style and made the waitresses dance, to try to erase the bad impression,” Yahiko said.

“It can’t be helped,” Tsubame added.

“But some customers patronize us because they think it's a good omen that we're going to win the jackpot.”

“It's a saying, isn't it?”

Misao was impressed.

“Daa.”

Kenji also chimed in.

While they were talking, the policeman from earlier came back.

“Please come to the chief's office, everyone.”

Because it was Kenshin who came and brought up Akabeko's harassment incident. It took the chief’s attention and it seemed that the chief had decided that this was his case.

“Where should I put these rabbits?”

Kenshin asked the policeman.

“Ah, the officer will take care of them for now!”

The policeman took the handle of the big two-wheeled cart from Kenshin.

“Please take good care of them.”

“Yes, sir!”

The policeman saluted quickly and let go of the handle of the big two-wheeled cart. The cart lost its balance and spring upward. The cages on top of it almost spilled over the ground. Just before it hits the ground…

“Oops!”

Quickly, Kenshin catched the handle and the cart returned to balance.

“When you let go of something like this, you should do it slowly, that you should.”

“Yes, sir! Excuse me!”

The policeman this time held the handle of the cart properly and carried the rabbits to the back of the police station.

Then when they all went into the chief's office.

"Hello, Himura-san and everyone here.”

Chief Uramura greeted Kenshin and the others.

Everyone greeted Chief Uramura and immediately got down to business.

“I heard there was a mass dumping of rabbits in Akabeko.”

“That's right.”

Kaoru answered on behalf of the others.

“I heard that if you keep rabbits, you have to pay taxes on them. That's why we can't keep them at home.”

Kaoru was dejected, but Chief Uramura replied with a smile.

“Oh, that law was repealed last year in June.”

“What?”

Everyone was surprised in one voice.

It probably didn't help that the information from Kanryu over three years ago was out of date.

“There used to be a crackdown on the rabbit market because the price was swelling, and then some people went bankrupt or made huge profits from fraud. However the trend has died down, so we eliminated it last year.”

Everyone was stunned by Chief Uramura's explanation.

SQ looked at the book she was offering him.

It was his father’s book on happiness.

“I’ve been handing them out to everyone who looks nervous,” she explained cheerfully. “This book changed my life. The author, Dr. Curtain, is a visionary and genius. I promise, it’s well worth the read.”

“Oh…” said SQ slowly, looking down at the face of the man he was trying very hard not to think about. “Thank you, but um…I’m actually not feeling nervous at all really.”

“Are you sure?” she asked, grinning at him. “I really must insist you take it. You need it. We all need it. Because we all deserve happiness.”

SQ did his best not to shudder at her unsettling gaze and forceful tone.

Hm...a lot to choose from here. I was debating between a couple passages, but in honor of you and Maren, I decided to include some prime Garrison and Curtain divorce drama content. I loved writing all the friendship breakups in SOS (because I'm just silly like that <3), but Garrison's and Curtain's is especially fascinating because of how alike they are in the way they use their intelligence to try to solve their own traumas and violate ethical boundaries. It's like they're constantly in this game of chess together and they're both losing but so is everyone else because they refuse to stop playing. That's the best way I can describe it. Please enjoy!

From Chapter 16 of SOS, "Moving Forward"

“And all I want,” continued Garrison carefully, “as your friend, is for you to be happy too. You deserve it. You’ve sacrificed so much for so many years…for all of us…for your family…you deserve to experience the profound joy that you have worked to give to so many others.”

Curtain felt it again. That feeling he got whenever people complimented, praised or supported him. The feeling of the world around him getting brighter, calmer, safer. Finally, Garrison was acting like his friend again. She wanted to support him. She wanted to help him. She cared about him. And the more Curtain listened to her voice, the more he wanted to keep hearing it.

Perhaps he should listen to her advice more often.

Garrison carefully began to synchronize her body movements.

“You are brilliant,” she continued, “a visionary. And all I want, more than anything in the whole world, is for you to be happy. For you to choose the happiness and joy that you deserve after so much suffering, frustration and pain. To be free of your burden.”

Curtain relaxed, he smiled at Garrison. This was what he wanted. To be free of his burdens. To be here again, with his friends, who cared about him, who would never hurt him again, who wouldn’t betray-

…who wouldn’t betray him.

But they always betrayed him.

They always abandoned him.

Always.

Curtain closed his eyes and shook his head, doing his best to shake Garrison’s voice and influence from his mind.

She had come close, far too close for comfort.

Well of course she had. Garrison knew him. She knew what he wanted to hear. She knew just what to say.

And really, should Curtain have expected anything different? Nicholas betrayed him. Wetherall betrayed him. Why should Garrison be any different?

Garrison watched as Curtain abruptly broke his gaze away from her, squeezed his eyes shut and began to shake his head. Upon realizing her plan had failed, she felt an overwhelming sense of despair.

Her technique had been working! She’d come close, so close, and yet… somehow Curtain had broken out of it. Garrison didn’t know how that was even possible, but she should have known something like that was bound to happen. What had she been thinking? Curtain was surely going to do something awful to her now.

“How dare you?” Curtain whispered angrily, his eyes still shut as he struggled to get the words out. “How dare you try to…to…”

Curtain paused, eyes closed, still trying to pry his mind free from the temptations that Garrison’s words had offered him.  

Then something else occurred to him.

Heavy Blade Rabbit - CR5 Barbarian / Fighter

Little one, if you are alone in this world, then allow me to be your friend. And if you have any other friends, take this gigantic sword and go chop them into tiny pieces.

I played the demo of Rabbit and Steel, and then felt the need to make each of the characters into a Pathfinder stat block. This is the last of the five. They are rabbits that had anthropomorphic animal cast on them and made permanent with a permanency spell. As a result, she's very small and dumb and weak, although her magic items somewhat make up for this.

The tiny greatsword with effortless lace is nearly guaranteed to be useless to the PCs unless they have an improved familiar that can wield it, so at best maybe they can sell it for half its value. With that in mind, her wealth is pretty normal for her level.

This NPC uses a unique magic item, the pinksplattered ribbon wraps, which are much more likely to be useful to PCs than her sword is. The cosmetic effect is particularly fitting if they're fighting fey.

She prefers to spring attack from one enemy to the next, using her Evade Reach ability in conjunction with the Lunge feat to avoid taking attacks of opportunity when doing so. Lunge allows her to attack targets from an adjacent space instead of having to move into the target's space like most tiny creatures, and Evade Reach allows her to reduce a medium target's reach to 0 ft. (which, without Lunge, would still allow a PC to attack her as she's leaving the PC's space, but not as she's entering their space). If a target has a reach weapon, she foregoes these abilities and instead moves into its space.

Heavy Blade Rabbit - CR 5

The tiny woman with rabbit features - barely a foot and a half tall - holds what is to her a fairly massive greatsword, and is dressed in a pink and black dress splattered with glittery pink blood. Her legs are wrapped tightly in ribbons, and there's a matching bow in her hair. She hops through the grass on bare feet at a quick pace.

SPECIAL ABILITIES

Big Game Hunter (Ex) A heavy sword rabbit gains a +1 bonus on attack rolls and a +1 dodge bonus to AC in melee with creatures larger than herself.

Evade Reach (Ex) As a swift action, a heavy sword rabbit may choose one creature within her line of sight. Until the end of her turn, that target’s reach is treated as if it were 5 feet shorter with respect to reaching the heavy sword rabbit.

Rage (Ex) A heavy blade rabbit can rage for 11 rounds per day. She can enter a rage as a free action.

While in a rage, a heavy blade gains a +2 bonus on melee attack rolls, melee damage rolls, thrown weapon damage rolls, and Will saving throws. In addition, she takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class. She also gains 14 temporary hit points, which disappear when the rage ends. While in a rage, a heavy sword rabbit cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skill (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration.

A heavy sword rabbit can end her rage as a free action, and is fatigued for 1 minute after a rage ends. She can’t enter a new rage while fatigued or exhausted, but can otherwise enter a rage multiple times per day. If she falls unconscious, her rage immediately ends.

Pinksplatter Bleed (Ex) Once per round, when the wearer of the pinksplattered ribbon wraps deals piercing or slashing damage with a weapon, she can deal an additional amount of bleed damage equal to the weapon’s base damage dice. A single creature cannot be inflicted with this bleed effect more than once per 24 hours (although, once inflicted, it takes damage each round as normal).

Powerful Stance (Ex) A heavy sword rabbit can enter a powerful stance as a move action while raging, gaining a +2 bonus on melee damage rolls. This is already included in its statistics above.

+ They're the youngest so far out of the gods.

+ Has an appearance that is similar to The Maker. With a cosmic touch to their clothes and them wearing a cloak.

+ If you strum their strings, they can play a variety of tones and melodies.

+ They're a nomad and have no shrine. They have a jewel, but it has been absorbed into Hank Wimbleton, since he was their first vessel. Which is why they follow SQ around.

+ Their strings remain even after they've been cut, which makes them coveted for not only their beauty but their durability as well.

God!Purgatory

+ The very embodiment of the mom friend and they're the second oldest god, due to the realm of purgatory's existence.

+ Purgy doesn't actually live in purgatory. She lives in a paradise realm that is home to innocent grunts that meet their fates. Instead of going to hell or the other place, they go to Purgys garden.

+ Purgy is the godess of life and reincarnation. Good grunts are able to return to Nevada if they wish, as many times as they want. As long as they stay kind or innocent. If they stray from the path, they go to genuine Purgatory. As a result of the lack of kind grunts, Purgy has a small village worth of grunts.

+ Auditor really likes Purgy. Purgy is oblivious to it.

+ Purgy also loves cooler weather and allows her realm to change seasons.

God!Soldier

+ Foxy Grandpa

+ Is the oldest out of the gods due to being from the WW2 Era in the human world.

+ Enjoys the hot springs deep in his volcano. Is most likely there when someone can't find him.

+ Has the most followers out of all the gods due to his blessings boosting combat-related abilities.

+ His mountain holds rare ores most often than not and many grunts view it as gifts from soldier.

+ The most mature out of the gods. He knows when to stick to his guns and when to cut his losses.

+ Helmet stays on 24/7.

+ Probably has tattoos.

kinda old but with the whole madcom polycule thing jiggling around, I'm curious how hank and doc are? I notice they got a lot of "its complicated" vibes in their chart these days, whats up There?

The way I see it is like, they're estranged partners that just stay with each other out of both preservation purposes (Doc constantly reviving Hank and Hank being a super useful asset to SQ's whole gig) as well as like...sentimental reasons.

Cause, at least in dad au, the whole reason Bank even exists in the first place is cause Hank n Doc were together when they were younger, before all the insane shit that Nexus kickstarted, they wanted to settle down n have a little family n shit, which leads into the whole thing about Pathos being Bank's mom just cause she was a surrogate for them, she was a close friend of theirs n like, maybe a little more to them, who knows! (I know lol)

And after she dies, the grief of losing their dear friend n mom of their kid kind of puts a strain on things, and shit Especially gets fuckin tense when Hank finally snaps and the madness truly begins. Doc obvs stays by his side because he 1) wants Hank to stay alive so he can help him with SQ's shit, 2) Doesn't want Bank fuckin orphaned and left to rely on her tios and Godfather (him), he believes she needs her dad in her life, and 3) he still feels something for Hank.

And in present day, Doc tries his absolute hardest to not feeling romantic feelings towards anyone cause he thinks its pointless given the state of the world. But like, he just can't toss what he felt for Hank at one point in their lives.

And like, Hank feels the same. They had something once and its hard to let go. Especially cause this mother fucker is autistic as fuck and insanely resistant to change but lol

Loves his mama even if he never met her personally, keeps her spirit alive in his own, celebrates Dia De Los Muertos and makes a nice little alter for her. Tinkers with guns and tech in his free time, as well as gaming, smoking, and going on dates with Sanford.

Ultimately he wants to protect Nevada and eventually restore it to some sense or normalcy, as impossible as a task as that seems. He raised Deimos from birth, teaching him how to take care of himself, knowing that he's a marked man, and many want him dead. He loves Deimos as his son, respects Sanford for his hard and loyal work, and trusts Hank will do as commanded.

His list of trusted people is small, and his list of friends is even smaller.
