Today I had my yearly wellness checkup! It has been several years since I last had one.

Today was scheduled to be my first pap smear. But the doctor had an excellent bedside manner and was very respectful of me being nonbinary, and she and her supervisor ended up doing an HPV test instead, partially since I'm so low risk, being an asexual virgin and all. They still had to root around at my cervix, but no speculum was involved. Hooray! (Still highly unpleasant, but wow, my doctor was a rockstar of respect and checking in.)

I also got my first dose of HPV vaccination, finally. Insurance should cover it now that the age range for adults got expanded recently. I have another dose in two months and a third in six months, and then I will be, in all likelihood, protected for life.

Only other thing that came up was a pilar cyst I've had for a year or two that went inflamed, itchy, painful, and leaky the last couple of weeks. It isn't infected, but they should be able to get removal covered by insurance now. I'm scheduled to have it yoinked out at the end of September.

And then I went and ordered moo goo gai pan to go because I was a very brave dragon today.
