Ok here’s one please vote on this I need to know what to do with hate and mean comments when you spastically put tags so it doesn’t happen. But it happens any way please reblog
I can’t believe I’ll have to start putting no hate comments in bold red letters.

Summary: During the trolls great escape from the Bergens Poppy and Branch get left behind. They grow up in the wild together learning to protect each other but when they are found by Viva and Clay and try to assimilate back into trolls society things get difficult. ------------- You've read about Feral Branch or even Feral John Dory, but get ready for... Feral Poppy. "No Troll left behind!" King Peppy hollered down the tunnel as he threw the large ball of trolls out of the way of the shovel breaking through the ground. When the shovel was removed, King Peppy rushed off in the direction of the rest of his people. He was running so fast that he didn't see a divot in the ground. He stumbled over it and almost fell. He popped back up feeling lighter and ran off towards his people. A small trolling that was just safely nestled in her father's hair was suddenly on the dirty ground. She let out a loud cry. A small form rushed up to her. “We have to be quiet, Poppy. Your dad will be back soon.”

Do people not realize that raging to people's ragebait only makes them post more ragebait? Rule number 0 of the internet is to not feed the trolls; they love when you get mad at them!!! That's how the fucking internet works!

Quote
Vladimir Putin understands better than Democrats and Democratic donors how to seize control of a nation. And Democrats damn well better learn the lesson, and fast. Forget about the economy and even abortion: it’s the media, stupid! When Putin wanted the Central African Republic (CAR) to give him multiple gold and mineral mines in that resource-rich country, the first thing his agent, Yevgeny Prigozhin, did was to buy a radio station and start running propaganda about the benefits of the CAR creating closer ties to Russia. Similarly, when Putin wanted to put Trump into the White House, he had Prigozhin’s Internet Research Agency — a massive, well-funded troll farm based in St. Petersburg — use swing-state polling and other internal RNC confidential information to send more than 100 million targeted Facebook impressions to swing state Americans.

Clarifications
1: Any edition, any handbook, but only one
2: Surf the internet just like it was in the golden age without worrying about companies getting waaay too into your personal details
3: The garden troll is your classic fairy-tale troll. Big giant that turns to rock in the sunlight and is only animate at night. always grumpy but patient and appreciates a good listener
4: Want someone to be irritated by their shirt tag all day? done. Want someone to die of a heart attack? hmmmmm sorry bud, that wont work. (this thing won't kill. If the minor inconvenience will end up with the person dying, it won't work.)
5: become a little guy :D
6: the thing of dreams, downside is that you gotta pause to listen to the snappy comebacks and the delivery is up to you
7: Whiskers! Opposable thumbs on your feet! Retractable claws! The ability to see in the dark! Hollow bones? A crop? POISON BARBS!
The ability resets every 10 minutes. If you take the bracelet off the transformation deactivates and doesn't activate until the 10 minutes is up.
8: If you still have them, they get a friend (or they can be stitched up to be as good as new with all the love still packed inside!)
9: "Late" as in deceased. Loved one can be anyone. Family, friend, pet, significant other, etc.
10: Everyone significant gets a theme song, new places get background music, stores get shopping music, mini-game music when competing with your friends. Definitely won't be helpful during an exam though

Endgame
I stopped blogging this drama some time ago because nothing new seemed to be happening. Oh, there was tons of telenovela drama, but none of it was "moving the needle" to quote Meghan. Even the Lady C and Tom Bower books were not very interesting, at least to me. I think they were significant in that they shone a spotlight on the various lies and misinterpretations, which I think helped flip the narrative on these two idiots, but if you've been following the shenanigans closely, as I have, they had few surprises.
I do have posts on the Netflix documentary because those had real revelations. However, I think this The Hill article is the real game changer. The Eye of Sauron has turned itself upon them, so to speak.
Tumblr media
Those are pretty strong words, and so are these:
Tumblr media
"U.S. national security." Wowza.
What's interesting is that a few days ago, this was The Hill's viewpoint:
Tumblr media
Way back in December 19th this was a "you" problem in the eyes of the Washington establishment (which is what The Hill represents), now suddenly it's an "us" problem. What changed?
Well, this IPSO poll came out in the UK, showing that the documentary did not affect royal popularity at all. The Brits are calling it inaccurate and the personal popularity numbers were not affected at all.
https://www.ipsos.com/en-uk/britons-more-likely-judge-harry-and-meghan-documentary-inaccurate-depiction-events-crown
Tumblr media
YouGov also got positive results for the monarchy.
Tumblr media
I haven't seen similar polls regarding the Commonwealth though, but I bet they were done and I bet the results weren't good. The documentary got strong international ratings and the Harkles are going to find out that success is a double-edged sword.
It's going to be interesting to see where this goes. So far, the results are encouraging. Hello, Colonel Kate!
Tumblr media
Trooping isn't until June but that got announced in December, which is fascinating.
And Charles' coronation was budget friendly back in October, but it will now be "glorious" pomp and pageantry showcasing UK plc and, no doubt, the Commonwealth.
Harry effed around and now he is going to find out that attacking the family is fun gossip that important people don't care about but attacking an institution that is part of the US national security establishment is a different matter altogether. A lot of people are now going to reassess their tacit support of the Harkles.
It will take a while because no one will admit Harry's Invictus role was axed because of a Netflix drama or internet trolling during the Wales' Caribbean tour, but that will be the eventual result. It will take years and it will be camouflaged as a "reorganization" or "rethinking" of the organization (everything military is now in flux as the establishment analyzes the implications of the Ukraine war) but he's going to be out. Notice that Sunshine Sachs leapt out of the sinking ship way back in September. That was likely the canary in the coal mine.
https://www.hellomagazine.com/royalty/20220924150955/meghan-markle-parts-ways-sunshine-sachs-pr-firm/
I doubt anyone reads this blog anymore since so many fantastic people are covering this drama now, but I'm compulsive about completing tasks so I'll be covering the endgame (as Scobie would put it, although the monarchy will not be the one losing this game).

ur so funny for that poll do not listen to the haters. you inflicted rage-induced explosive severe brain damage on thousands and I think that’s pretty swag
the stupid ass poll has given me a greater understanding of why internet trolls do it. posting a stupid joke and getting two distinct reactions: "this sucks haha", and "oh my god is this real" is kind of crack for my stupid caveman monkey brain. just like crack, I'm certain it would be very bad for me if i did it all the time. like everything in life, crack is best consumed in moderation

whats your feelings on the homestuck/dtwof drama?
i am a grown adult who uses critical thinking skills in the handling of media. i can acknowledge and make reference to flawed and offensive elements in works i read and engage with and as long as i acknowledge their presence, and how they can affect the reader and narrative as a whole i don't think i'm being fandom brained or whatever.
i've always been in the camp that if you are to criticise homestuck, looking at the racist tropes and aspects hussie inserted is the best point, as it is very distressing and hard to ignore. and i don't think that people not ignoring when it comes to discussing homestuck it is somehow worse or more weird or embarassing?
hussie and bechdal seem like shitheads, hussie for being a somethingawful poisoned forum troll and bechdal for being a michfest loving transmisogyny wielder who has never been held accountable. but ultimately, all this stems from is, as has been said by @plaidos is an internet slapfight over a tumblr poll.

it's getting really upsetting to see certain corners of the fandom demonize peggy. do you have any thoughts on the matter?
Oh, if only this were a new thing, anon!
I’ve been in the MCU fandom since before there was an MCU to speak of. Shitting on women characters and the actors who play them has been going on forever. People posted about how they hated Pepper Potts, saying she wasn’t a good partner to Tony because she didn’t constantly enable his erratic behaviour, or sacrifice her safety to accommodate his trauma. They posted about how Pepper should have died in Iron Man 2, for the good of Tony’s story, and when Iron Man 3 came out, they said the same thing. It was fucking exhausting.
People also posted about how they hated Natasha Romanoff, how they hated Jane Foster, how they hated Wanda Maximoff, how they hated Sharon Carter.
And yes, there were Peggy-haters then too. They called her a “karate-kicking fucktoy” and a “vengeful feminazi” and those are the most polite terms I can recall. They complained that she was too powerful, they complained that she was too feminine, they complained that she was pointless without Steve, they complained that she talked about Steve too much. And so on, and so forth, ad infinitum.
Now, to be clear, I am not talking about some of the very valid criticisms people had about the Agent Carter series - its writing, its casting, etc. I am also not talking about the very valid criticisms people have about the larger MCU related to representation, or lack thereof, across multiple fronts. I believe it’s possible to enjoy a piece of media and still have issues with some (or even many) aspects of it, and I enjoy reading posts that grapple with those issues. I’m not even talking about venting about a popular character you can’t stand: that has its place, though I’d argue that the place is probably not in the tag for that character. (I guarantee you, your “unpopular opinion” is never as unpopular as you think.)
I’m talking about misogyny. The same tired, rehashed, played out bullshit woman-hating that has existed in fandoms, so many fandoms, for at least the 25+ years that I’ve been active in them.
And that’s still what’s happening.
Many of the posts I’ve seen that fall under this category are expressing anger that one character or relationship or storyline or interpretation of canon is getting airtime, while another one, one they like better, is not. I’m not going to argue with anyone about that. You like what you like, and you're entitled to be annoyed if you don't get it. But if your argument is sound, you should be able to make your point effectively without calling the character the grossest euphemism for vagina you can find, or speculating on the exact sex acts an actor had to do to keep her character popular.
Other posts I’ve seen are just absolute buckwild conspiracy theory nonsense. The only thing I have to say about that is, yikes. Get well soon.
Tumblr, like other social media platforms, recognizes that they get more engagement if people are forced to play in the same sandbox, which is why it probably feels like you're seeing a disproportionate number of hate posts. And anyone who writes for money on the internet knows that hate clicks are often the juiciest clicks, and so they will write articles and listicles and polls with titles and subjects designed to get your blood up. It’s become increasingly difficult to avoid seeing other people’s ridiculous opinions. But that’s still the strategy that I find best helps me enjoy fandom.
So if “certain corners” of the fandom are not to your taste, anon, then my advice is this: block, blacklist, and just don’t engage. Don’t feed the trolls. Instead, put that energy into positive interactions. Make art. Comment on things you liked. Find your friends, and have conversations that inspire you and amuse you, instead of ones that make you angry and tired.
Thanks for the ask! Take care.

Year-End Poll #64: 2013
Tumblr media
[Image description: a collage of photos of the 10 musicians and musical groups featured in this poll. In order from left to right, top to bottom: Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Robin Thicke, Imagine Dragons, Baauer, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Justin Timberlake, Pink, Bruno Mars, Florida Georgia Line, Katy Perry. End description]
More information about this blog here
With Billboard now counting YouTube views into their charts, we're seeing new artists reaching higher chart success from the strength of their music videos or internet virality in general, with songs like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' Thrift Shop and Baauer's Harlem Shake.
Speaking of changing technology, we now have to cover the biggest change that's going to define this decade in music. While first released in the States in 2011, Spotify's impact on the charts will start to become even more evident this year. It will still be a while before Billboard begins implementing data from Spotify and similar streaming services into their charts.
We're also starting to see the electropop and club music dwindle in the charts. Some have attributed this to Lorde's Royals, giving it an almost Smells Like Teen Spirit-esque mythos. But there's also the shift towards more folk and indie sounds in music (and commercials gravitating towards this music as well), streaming encouraging more individual listening, and general shifting tastes.
With the remix of Florida Georgia Line's Cruise, we're also seeing the rise in a subgenre known as bro-country. In terms of country crossover success, this subgenre would come to take over ballads and country pop as the main crossover sound. This is not the last time we'll see an example of country-rap fusion on the charts, and it certainly won't be the last time we see controversy over it.
And speaking of controversy, we need to talk about Blurred Lines. Specifically, we need to talk about Pharrell Williams v. Bridgeport Music. The court case concerned the song's similarities to Marvin Gaye's Got to Give It Up and Sexy Ways. Without going too much into it, the case ruled in favor of Marvin Gaye's estate -- a decision that forever altered the course of music copyright law. Since the ruling, we've seen a rise in lawsuits over perceived musical similarities as well as labels scrambling to give songwriting credits out to avoid potential lawsuits (if you ever wondered why Richard and Fred Fairbrass of Right Said Fred received songwriting credits on Taylor Swift's Look What You Made Me Do, that's why). To quote this entry from Harvard Law's Journal of Sports and Entertainment Law:
Aptly named, the “Blurred Lines” case is now blurring the lines of rather well-settled copyright doctrine and is sending shockwaves through the musical community. While it is unclear what the ultimate impact of Williams will be on the music industry, it has, at the very minimum, put artists and publishers on notice as to how they should approach musical composition to avoid legal issues.
These “copyright trolls” would acquire the copy-rights of older music, and then sue artists for infringement with the hopes of forcing a settlement. Many artists would agree to these settlements, as they often are less expensive than the costs of litigating the issue in court. 65 Further, the threat of litigation may incline new musical artists to obtain unnecessary licenses and other permissions that they feel will protect them from these lawsuits. (Quagliariello, 2019)
The arguments behind the initial court case are still being debated, but what can't be debated is the Pandora's Box of litigation that the case inspired.
Good thing this is the only controversy Blurred Lines had ever faced. At least that's what I'm going to pretend for the sake of this poll.

BEHOLD: FURRIES AGAINST FASCISTS
Tumblr media
Florida is always in trouble. But right now, it's particularly bad. Ron Desantis has banned books, passed "Don't say gay" laws, an abortion ban, and inches ever closer to fascism in our state. He's less than 3% ahead against Charlie Crist according to the most recent polls but has almost a dollar for every penny in the Democratic campaign coffers. That's why we, as the forgotten children of the internet, must come together to combat him.
We need your help. Do you stand with us? Click here to add your name to the legion of shitposters standing up to America's least favorite troll.

Given the recent launch of Louis’s 28OP merch line, and given that it seems he is likely to continue regularly dropping merch, and also given the spectrum of financial situations among Louis’s fans, An Idea has occurred.
What if individual Louies who are financially secure were willing/able to purchase a desired item of 28OP merch for individual fans who are not able to do so?
Participating would require submitting your legal name and address to a form so that fans who are willing to buy are able to be matched with fans who want to receive. However, this could be completely uncoupled from fandom handles and identities, so that there’s no possibility of your legal info being connected to your fandom presence. (There is still always a risk in giving your information to a stranger on the internet, of course - this blog would do the matching, but could take no responsibility or liability for the results of that risk.)
Alternatively, fandom handles could be submitted on the forms so that mods can ensure the persons participating are who they say they are and are members of the fandom and not opportunistic trolls. (This is safer in the sense that it introduces a review process, but less safe in that it requires you to trust the mods with your fandom identity in connection with your legal identity.)
Please read *all* answers below, and then respond to the poll below with your thoughts:
