Currently having massive brain rot for my Protagonist!Leon AU, but one plot point in particular really makes my shipping heart float: the Ishimondo potential.

(AU plot point explanation under the cut...)

So, if you recall, in this AU (which takes similar plot beats to Danganronpa: Despair Time), Mondo takes up a role similar to Arei's, while Taka takes up a role similar to Eden's.

So, I'm imagining Kiyotaka blackmailing Leon (who takes up a role similar to Teruko's, and is thus the protagonist) into helping him organize a group bonding activity together, after Monokuma issued the "secret reveal" motive. Taka tried to invite Mondo, only to get mocked and bullied out of the room by the biker gang leader.

Soon after that, Mondo tells Leon and Celeste (who takes a role similar to David's) his secret (which would most likely still involve Daiya's death), and ends up breaking down in tears upon re-confronting his past again, and admitting that he's jealous of Kiyotaka's optimism, something a struggling street rat like him never got the chance to get. Considering that this is still Mondo, maybe deep down he considers optimism a hallmark of a true "man". Celeste ended up giving the biker gang leader the sweet reassurance that he desperately needed in his life, as well as the motivation to change his ways and lower down his walls for a bit.

Eventually, Kiyotaka confesses to Toko (who takes a role similar to Arturo's) that he received her secret. Enraged and desperate to keep that secret hidden, Toko attacked and threatened Kiyotaka with her scissors. Luckily, Mondo came in, and threatened the literary girl into leaving the moral compass. The biker, with his hands grasping the hands of the other, confessed to the moral compass about his past cruel behavior, his willingness to change and above all, a promise to kindle a friendship with Taka.

Whether it's saving Taka from people like Toko or participating in bonding activities, Mondo will do it.

"Because a man always keeps his promises!"

That was the last sentence Taka remembered hearing from Mondo, before he found the body of the biker hanging by a noose.

Fusion AU:

Kiyotaka and Mondo are obliviously in love with each other and are to afraid to show it out of fear of ruining their friendship. They’re practically inseparable they just wished they know how the other felt so it would be easier to decide what to do with their feelings. So one night at one of their casual sleep overs after they fall asleep next to each other they somehow magically fuse together. When they wake up the next morning they soon realize that some how they have become two minds sharing the same body. As a fusion they look like a mix between each other with the able to share thoughts and feelings. With this fusion Kiyotaka and Mondo are finally able to fully share everything with each other and grow a new sense of closeness and security. Finally figuring out each others feelings Kiyotaka and Mondo are determined to hold each with their own arms. But the only way to unfuse and go back to normal is with love and for them to fully amit their feelings willingly and passionately.

THEY’RE SO GOOD THEY MAKE ME CRY I love how quickly their friendship escalated and the very Not Subtle clues that their friendship is probably a little bit More than a friendship. Also how Taka just completely crumbles after Mondo’s gone and you can tell he’s breaking apart at the seams without him, esp bc he goes practically nonverbal after watching him die;; AND the fact that he like? Develops a Mondo personality bc of the trauma? I can’t tell if it’s a case like Toko’s with her DID but it definitely felt that way. DID is usually a direct result of trauma so I can see Taka developing an alternate personality to both lean/depend on and use as a shield from facing Mondo’s death, especially after getting to kind of see him due to Alter Ego. The Mondo/Taka fusion breaking down in tears after Alter Ego (and Alter Mondo I guess? Lol) gets stolen breaks my HEART please stop hurting him

Anyway I have a lot of feelings about them. I’m really fucking sad that both of them died and I hope that wherever they ended up they’re together and happy

I just gotta love the Danganronpa fandom sometimes

So you know Kiyotaka Ishimaru and Mondo Owada right?

Well, Kazutaka Kodaka (Creator of the Danganronpa games) made a character called Kiyondo Ishida (he's legit just Kiyotaka but with Mondo energy)

Well Kiyondo is a fusion of Kiyotaka and Mondo

And Ishida is a fusion of Ishimaru and Owada

And ship names are usually a fusion of the characters first names or their last names.

What if Kodaka named the character Kiyondo Ishida to make it hard for fans to create a ship name.

But y'know what the Dr fandom did?

They made the ship name Ishimondo (Ishimaru and Mondo).

I am thinking about the DR Gem AU Ishimondo fusion and like. Even though he is a carnelian I don't think he would self-identify as Carnelian, because they both have people names even though Mondo is full gem. But then what options would I have? Kiyondo is well-established figure in canon that I could just use, but his concept is split between this fusion and Kiyotaka's flaming trauma state thing (that one I'm thinking of calling only Ishida) so I thought that might get confusing. If that and Carnelian are out, what would I call him? Ishimondo? Mondaka?

Ok, so for the people who follow me, here is an update:

•I am working on the student synapses on @myoddities, so if you follow (which is one person but ok) keep an eye out for that.

•I will try to get an Ishimondo prompt story up every night, but I may miss some. I am still interested in it though!

•My fusion AU will hopefully be up on AO3 shortly

•I will write more for my Anthro AU, but it may take a while

In my vision of the story, Chiaki was actually the Royal healer for the Great Monomi, the runaway Diamond who hid with her and the other rebellious gems.

can you do some headcanons for an ishimondo au where humans can fuse with each other and mondo and taka regularly fuse into kiyondo just cause they love each other?(kinda like garnet from su)

I’ve never seen SU so I kinda just,,,took this and ran

The first time they fused was an accident. They were in high school and weren’t really thinking, but they ended up enjoying the time they spent when they were fused.

They started doing it more often once they started dating. A lot of couples did, and they really liked the feeling of inhabiting one sound mind and body together.

It was a way to show that they loved each other. They could act as one, have nearly instantaneous mental conversations and spend so much time together.

They always end fusions at the end of the day, since their parents likely wouldn’t be too happy about it. It at least ensured that they would get a full night’s sleep.

Really, the only thing that felt better to them than fusing was making out, which they didn’t do as often (especially in public) because neither of them wanted to be That Couple.
