my name is second (although given my icon and general presence, i don’t mind being called bee). i am 25 and i use they/them pronouns. i’m mainly a hermitcraft fan (i main joe hills, a fact that will become immediately obvious if you follow this blog), although i’m also a big fan of empires smp, the life series/traffic smps, and am at my heart a technoblade main. i also watch a decent amount of vault hunters when it’s around.

my ao3 is bee_4. the thing you’ve most likely heard of on there is either “the inner mechanism of a black box” or “this is about a stuffed bird”. if i could make you read one other thing on there, i would probably currently choose either “to convey a certain brilliance” or “cura te ipsum”, although if it’s on my ao3, as a general rule, i think it’s very good and you should read it.

#a bee fic is my fic tag. in it you will find a fairly consistent stream of ficlets because the ability to put whatever i want on tumblr is one i frequently abuse. there are a lot of these that aren’t currently on ao3, and may never be (as i tend to only transfer over my favorites). enjoy this access to my brain!

as a general rule, in addition to the above: you have my permission to do fanart or my fic, write a fic of my fic, write a fic using the concept of one of my fics or an au i’ve talked about, or in general transform my work however you see fit. we’re all writing fanfic here! my one request is that, if you are using my plot or au as i wrote it, you credit me somewhere, and that you never take my exact words and copy them. other than that, feel free to do as you will! (i’d also love if you tagged me in it so i can see it and fanboy about it, but this is not a required step, lol.)

#stuffed bird art: specific tag for fanart of stuffed bird. this tag largely exists because you all are insane and i love you and i ran out of characters in stuffed bird’s endnote to link all of it there.

#magical girl scar: this au is taking over my blog and i am going insane but also it’s very fun so it probably won’t stop taking over my blog. click this tag to see stuff for it.

in addition, i will do my best to tag original content with any trigger i have been asked to tag it with. however, i am often bad about both spoiler and trigger tags, as i personally have very wide and flexible boundaries and therefore can be bad about judging other people’s. let me know if i need one on something there isn’t one on and i’ll do my best to fix it. in addition, i do not guarantee i will tag anything i reblog. i make attempts for major spoiler tags or things i think need a tag that op didn’t put on there, but even that is very very spotty, and i don’t want people to assume i will tag to a level of consistency i don’t and get hurt, so i generally refuse as a rule to guarantee that. sorry!

i don’t typically answer asks that are about discourse-laden topics. this includes stuff like shipping or dream or other things that are guaranteed to make at least one person mad. this is less because those topics make me upset (they don’t) and more because i hate getting in arguments on the internet, so if i actually do a discourse its normally because i’ve actually been really annoyed by something. otherwise i will politely pretend your question didn’t exist. (this does unfortunately include when you are not trying to discourse and are just sorta chatting about one of the topics i decide i don’t want to answer - i’m sorry! i promise i don’t care, i just am hyper-aware of the fact i have over five thousand follwers at this point.)

my queue is normally between two and three days behind the current day because i shove so much stuff in it. despite this, there is no consistency to how i decide if something goes in the queue or i straight-up reblog it. as a result there’s a pretty high amount of content just constantly on this blog. my current queue is at 36 posts a day but by god do i do more than that anyway. in addition my likes are from my main, as are my follows and replies, so it can be really hard to tell if i’m around sometimes, lol.

please don’t send me an ask advertising your thing unless i’m directly involved in it in some way (IE it’s based on one of my concepts or fan stuff from one of my things). it just makes me sorta uncomfortable and then i delete it because i don’t know whether or not to post it especially given that i don’t post that stuff from everyone, haha, so i end up posting none of it. similarly, don’t send me things asking for me to reblog your thing, i go through the tag and reblog low-note stuff a lot but the moment i’m asked to i get really uncomfortable. the one exception to this is if you know me outside of tumblr and we’re buddies in which case i don’t care.

wait its the only ad youve seen? ill answer your question in a moment but im... a bit stupefied by knowing THAT detail specifically. as for how much i paid for it, well time to spill the beans i guess: i have blazed this SPECIFIC post (but i blazed other posts on this blog earlier this month) for $150. and thats only from THIS month. i have blazed this other times and i cant give an exact number, but honestly i can say in total i paid MORE than $200 on that post in general. now why would i do that? because i love seeing some people make jokes about it, getting REALLY pissed off from seeing it OVER AND OVER AGAIN, like just that knowledge is SO FUCKING HILARIOUS TO ME. the thing is about that too is THE PEOPLE TOOK THE BAIT! they took the bait, literally reblogging how much they hate it, how much its complete DOGSHIT and probably thinking about how i should be a cow on a trash farm like that one german dude on twitter said to edmund mcmillen. but theres also the polar opposite, the people who find it very funny, people who oddly enjoy it, like genuinely enjoy it. or people who just saw the blaze and think its based. i like that, too, honestly. i like this polar opposite dynamic with the post and how people see it over and over. its funny, at least to me. it gives me genuine enjoyment, seeing how much people both genuinely seem to like it bc funny, and how much people hate it. oh and yes i can afford this, so you all are probably stuck with this for a GOOD LONG WHILE, because i feel like i practically live in a factory job that pays me well enough.

oh and also, i see a lot of people dont notice what that post is referencing. originally referencing, i mean. people also dont seem to get the whole mordetwi thing so im just going to explain that, too: so i mentioned this horribly made mordetwi fanart made YEARS ago on deviantart with literally the same exact lyrics and a VERY similar background to the art my good friend harvey made. this is the art it was referencing:

so yeah, i mentioned that artwork to my friend harvey who was trying to come up with something for me to post on this tumblr to specifically make jokes about our cursed, horribly written at first crackfic that turned serious at some point (which to be fair, during this time i wasnt writing much but i got into it a bit later, came up with a lot of plot and helped the best i could with consistency on frantic fanfic writing, but enough of THOSE details!) and got genuinely better, storywise. i made that joke about the fucking ship we put in there, YOU CAN GUESS FUCKING WHAT I DONT THINK I NEED TO SPELL IT OUT. so i made a joke about him making parody art of that and the dude really did it. i was so shocked, astounded, and overjoyed with this POWER I HAAAVE that i blazed it and successfully knew i got people to go through some serious mental anguish, cringe, and even a small bit of trauma from viewing that. but also some people who genuinely enjoyed it, which KUDOS TO YOU PEOPLE YOURE GREAT!

Bughead Appreciation Week - Day 1 Bughead Fandom Love Day

First of all: thank you @bugheadcentral for putting this together! I think we all need this.

I won’t even attempt to name all the people in this fandom I’m thankful for because I will inevitably forget someone and feel terrible about it!

I have been in this fandom since Jan. 2017 and so many people have entered (and some since exited but I still remember them fondly) my life because of this crazy show. There’s too many to name in just one post (and I have mommy brain and would forget some of you)!

If we’ve ever interacted, I hope I made you feel like you mattered and like you brought something into my life. You all have. So here are a few blanket statements:

1. I’m so very thankful for all our Bughead fic writers who keep finding new ways of writing our ship falling in love over and over again in thousands of different manners. They have been especially important since canon has been failing us.

2. Thank you to all the wonderful gif makers. I stopped watching at 4.16 and you guys allow me to see only the good Bughead stuff that’s happened since then and remind me of all the wonderful moments we got before things got so completely messed up.

3. Thank you to the ones I call the 'Bughead commentators' because even though I stopped watching, through following your blogs, I can keep up with what’s happening in the land of Bughead on Riverdale.

4. To every single one of you who has encouraged my writing in any way, liked, shared, commented on my stuff: thank you! You enrich my online life and bring me joy. I’m grateful for you.

I usually write these kind of posts on my personal R/WBY account, but considering the topic I’m about to discuss it makes more sense if I do it here. Trigger warnings for transph*bia, TERF rhetoric and the s3xualization of minors underneath the cut.

So for those that don’t know, a well-known creator within the F/DMN known as y8ay8a has been shown to support TERF ideology via her Twitter follows & likes and she follows the Twitter account of “Gays Against Groomers” scumbags who spew a bunch of hateful/harmful rhetoric against the trans community.

I’m not going to bother arguing why this is obviously a bunch of bullshit to be subscribing to, especially since it seems y8ay8a’s been doubling down {at least on Twitter}. She’s “addressed” things on her Tumblr blog and I use that loosely because she didn’t actually address anything at all. So let me make it perfectly clear to y8ay8a, her fans and the rest of the F/NDM…

Regardless of what she says, she is transphobic, she doesn’t support the trans community and she is a TERF.

One cannot say that they support trans people {or as she put it “adults” I see what you’re trying to imply there, you piece of shit} and then subscribe to TERF ideology/anti-trans rhetoric. It doesn’t matter if you say that you follow trans creators, you don’t actually support them and you’re using them as a shield.

Y8ay8a, there are legit reasons why people are upset with you right now, people aren’t “bullying you” they’re literally getting after you because of the hateful beliefs that you seem to support. If you decide to keep ignoring the justified criticism that’s being thrown your way, then the only one to blame for your “cancellation” within the F/NDM is you.

Also I find it incredibly “hilarious” that you say that “there isn’t much drama to feed from my accounts tbh” when there’s actually a couple of things that you can also be criticized on… like how you’ve drawn multiple NSFW images of R/uby, most of which involve her being paired with adult characters such as H/arriet. It doesn’t matter if she’s a “fictional character”, she’s still a god damn minor you fucking freak… I thought that you & the bigoted groups/people you follow cared about the safety of children? How can you care about the safety of minors, when you’ve drawn NSFW artwork that involves a fictional character who’s underage? You do realize that you’re only giving the impression that it’s okay for others to sexualize minors whether they’re fictional or not, right? Gotta love the blatant hypocrisy of it all…

There’s also you shipping I/Ilia x S/ienna and drawing NSFW content involving the ship. The age gap between them is large and there’s a power imbalance because S/ienna was the leader of the WF {I/lia’s boss}. I’ve also seen that you’ve drawn NSFW content of N/ora x E/lm {large age gap} and S/alem x E/merald {do I even need to explain why this is fucked up}amongst other things.

I don’t want to hear the pathetic excuse of “but some of those were commissions”… you had the ability to say no and yet you still decided to take the money and do those art pieces anyways, there’s no fucking excuse.

For those looking for evidence, I obviously cannot show the images here. However, if you send me a DM I’ll let you know what her NSFW Twitter name is… just don’t be surprised if they delete the account for damage control. I’m not sharing the account name publicly, since I don’t want minors accessing it and viewing that filth {DON’T DM ME IF YOU’RE A MINOR}.

If anyone who follows me still follows/supports this creator, unfollow me immediately. This blog is a safe space for everyone who identifies under the trans umbrella, TERFS aren’t welcomed here. I myself am Bigender and simultaneously identify as a woman & non-binary {she/they}, so this topic is important to me.

As an LGBTQ+ space within the F/NDM, as someone who identifies under the trans umbrella and as someone who has many trans friends/loved ones, I felt that I needed to speak up about this. I edited my headline to be clear that this blog is a fan blog. I never claimed to be an official translator or anything like that. OX did never answer the request for permission to translate their work, so this is all for fun and without any connection to the artist but if you want to put it so negatively “messing” with their work. (I guess/hope Old Xian is probably really busy and doesn’t have time for concerns over small creators interacting with their works. Of course I would take the translations/edits down immediately if they personally ever happen to contact me about it and disliking it for whatever reason or if they make a statement online that they are uncomfortable with people playing around with their creation) Please remember fanfiction, fanart, edits, … are the same category as fan translations and technically require permission from the creator to be anything near legal as well. If nothing is commercialized it’s basically not a crime that’s traced I guess? I’m doing this in my free time and without ever charging anyone anything. The art work doesn’t belong to me and I hope that’s clear since I put OXs name and where to find the original whenever I post a translation.

I barely interact with most of the followers who came here but I’m happy many people seem to enjoy it ❤️ Again: I’m not claiming to be accurate and I just do fun stuff with editing, and what I feel like. Summery: We switch between accurate translations and a more direct communication sometimes (but most of the time we stick to the original as close as possible). Introduction

(I dunno how to start this blog but I would love to interact with the toontown community more because I’ve been around for so dang long but never uploaded anything really. Toontown has always been my special interest, so I hope some of you enjoy these pictures and memes of my special boys, the cog bosses hold a special place in my heart! My username is just a really old username because my favorite cog boss was always CJ. I didn’t feel like getting a new one. But my two favorites of this blog will mostly consist of Chief Justice and Chief Finical officer. I love to ship these two as well in my AU. My least favorite is probably VP hes kinda overrated and gets too much art by everyone else in the fandom anyway. NO OFFENSE, its true though. So, I don’t draw VP much. Just a message before I upload :). Questions are open if you are interested in asking any of my versions of the bosses anyway! (THIS IS A AU AND NOT CANNON BTW) don’t be shy.)

-This is also my first Blog so I’m not very experienced in Tumblr lol.-I’m going to try to put out references for all my cog bosses but at the time of writing this I only have my CFO’s done: his name is Trayvon he’s really cool. :) give him some love.

just to rephrase again and give more details: my VP is called Vergil: Hes the shortest and weakest out of all the other guys. Hes the most edgy one out of the group, He’s into punk and emo things. He despises toons. Hes probably the most aggressive one. I wanted him to be different then the VP everyone goes for. Hes way colder emotionally then the other bosses, he still has fun with the other bosses and still are friends with them even though. he is a very bad workaholic and a perfectionist. He built a kid with him and CJ’s blueprints when CJ was still a male his name is Clay (Sinister). (and no its not a copy of Cathal, I thought of him since 2018) Nicknames:(CFO love to call him gaylord, but sometimes edgelord, or emo boy as a joke) CFO, Trayvon (Tray): hes the biggest, chunkiest cog boss in my au, its really cute and fits him well because hes really greedy/overindulgent! Hes SUPER headstrong and a bit dense, hes the funniest one though. The most out of pocket one and doesn’t really have a filter. He smokes a lot of weed. Him and the CJ in this au are a couple, he would murder anyone if they even looked at CJ the wrong way hes super protective of his loved ones! he loves to make CJ laugh (yes cogs can laugh in my au) Hes kinda like the class clown. Hes probably the most physically strong cog boss to make up for him being a bit dumb and slow in speed. In my au he can lift and throw safes at toons. He really hates toon too and despises them for stealing from him and what they did to CJ’s eyes in my au. he loves to eat. Fun fact is he gets hot and overheats a lot from being so big and chunky. Has a biological kid with CJ after a while called Clinton (Legal Tender) Nicknames:(CJ likes to mess with him calling him big daddy to make him flustered when they are being romantic. The other two men like to call him big d**k daddy to tease him.)

CJ, Clementine (Clem): he was at first built a man but transitioned to a woman! So, she goes by she/her now. Shes probably the second weakest cog boss physically. Shes super skinny and doesn’t have much strength because lawbots are more brain smart so she was never built to be very strong. Shes quite witty and kindhearted actually and a really caring cog to other cogs! She loves all the other bosses a lot and loves to hang out with them (all the bosses are friends with each other to clarify and are polyamorous). She loves to support her friends. Her and Trayvon/the CFO are a couple. She also unfortunately hates toon too because in my au toons attacked her on trial in the past when she was still a young cog and scratched her eyes and that’s why she’s PARCIALLY blind, she can still see a bit but it’s blurry/fuzzy. Is always cold from being close to the burrrgh and also in general when she visits other places (she loves to cuddle the CFO because hes always warm and warms her up ahhh or CFO usually just gives her his jacket all the time which she LOVES to wear his oversized things). Has a biological kid with CFO after a while called Clinton (Legal Tender) Is their favorite kid. Nicknames:(the bosses mostly just call her babe, or my love or something. CFO likes to call her “your Honor” randomly to tease her)

CEO, Chad: hes also quite edgy himself but hes more outgoing to cogs then Vergil is. him and Tray are besties/fwb, (I draw the two together a lot). He mostly just goes along with whatever everyone else is doing, hes quite chill. he loves to cause trouble (for toons and trouble in general) him and the CFO are very mischievous together. He loves to hype up and support his friends. He loves throwing banquets, usually he parties really hard and gets drunk off oil. He also loves doing golf shit with his friends (the other bosses, even though the other bosses don’t really like golf). He would die for the other bosses and to keep them safe. Probably is the least aggressive against the toons though unless they showed aggression first, then he would rip them apart if so LOL. He tries his best to manage the other bosses. (has no kids yet but I had a design with him and CJ’s kid for a long time his name is Mulligan. I might make it cannon.) Nicknames:(CJ likes to call him Chaddy LOL or Chaddy Chad to tease him. CFO likes to call him ball fondler to tease him.)

(ALL OF THE BOSSES IN THIS AU ARE POLYAMOROUS WITH EACHOTHER BTW) (there is also no chairman or boardbots in this au, but I drawn a chairman before but I would imagine he lives in cog nation, wherever that is. Their au is more like a toontown online au more then a clash au.)

IRT the slavery jokes, and the tag about how bad it must have been years ago: I’ve been in the fandom for almost twenty years, and it honestly wasn’t too bad until Oblivion came out? The fandom shifted from quiet nerds to mainstream very quickly. Could be that I was insulated to some specific forums where the biggest drama was “stop asking us where the puzzle cube is” and one of the mods wanted to make dremoras and atronachs kiss, but I don’t remember much in the way of slavery jokes and offensive bullshit until Oblivion happened and attracted a bunch of randos, a lot of whom were edgy teens who started the whole thing. Worryingly, a lot of people also came in and played Morrowind out of curiosity, then walked away thinking the whole Dunmer xenophobia thing was “cool.”

HOMOPHOBIA, on the other hand, was a big deal even before Oblivion. Lots of people gnashing their teeth over Vivec being canonically bi and AlienSlof making mods that had assless chaps for men. It’s kind of funny that Voryn/Nerevar is the big ship nowadays because I can still remember all the dudes who felt personally threatened by mesh shirts for elves, and screaming “IM NOT GAY” while staring at the Nude Better Bodies option on GameSpy.

Yeah, I can see that happening (keep in mind I was like 6 when mw came out and I wasn't exactly Online), Oblivion promo was everywhere around when it came out and permeated everything for YEARS (at least around here, everyone had it, everyone was playing it, same with Skyrim, but I feel like Oblivion was a BIG big thing because the high fantasy sort of appeal, the lore wasn't prohibitive for new players, and it looked graphically ambitious for the time). I think the aughts were around when being a Gamer started being seen as a semi-cool/acceptable subculture, too, so I'm sure that emboldened a lot of those dickweeds because they felt like revolutionaries or something and circlejerked, including their shared bigotry (and then the skyrim nazi problem happened). Biiig gateways to get people into the older games.

But yeah, I remember constant homophobia and every other [minority]phobia was just a Fandom Problem in general regardless of series... at least the fragility of homophobic dudebros toward even the most basic shit like a male character being shirtless or had tight pants, or having long hair (or a female character having short hair, because they're afraid that's too gay for them) was funny and pathetic as hell when they weren't expressing a wish that people like me die or something. The fact that people still act like this makes me wonder how they survive.

I saw it in multiple places. I think it helps along with general social progress that social media is more than mostly just forums, old style blogs, webcomics, and dA so more lgbtq+ people can just be out there and not get flamed and harassed to the point of just leaving all available mainstream platforms for fans of something and sites are (usually) more proactive about preventing as much hate speech and the average person will shut down or ignore and simply report/block anyone trying to be bold with it.

Also yeah it's kind of funny it's so big suddenly? I think people just really like running with subtexts with fanbases in general these days instead of just sticking to staunch, outright and stated canon that's put directly in your face (which is kind of moot with dying on that latter hill for this series lmao) because people used to just fight you on that shit back in the day for any series, and going nuts and finally have the freedom to do so. New people coming in with their pre-established behavior and accepted norms from other fandoms helps as well I'm guessing. And judging by tags on my art, gay dudes just really like Voryn and see him as a projection character/he was a gay awakening for some of them? I think being on the gay trans website in an era that shipping is its own subculture within fandoms helps

hi anon! I’d really prefer to keep my blog discourse-free so I’m not gonna harp on this but I wanted to respond nonetheless bc I also believe in being open. I’m also going to put this under the cut as it contains discussion of some heavy materials and I don’t want any of my followers to have to read it if they’re uncomfortable.

Firstly, I reblogged Ella’s post answering an ask about her grievances w the AU (not specifying out of respect for keeping the tag discourse free if possible, but iykyk) around when it first got posted. It’s has since gained a bit of notoriety. At that time, I was horrified with what I read and felt it was important to warn others, should they be the type to browse sp twt or insta or should the comic make its way to tumblr.

I would like to clarify what exactly made me so horrified: the serial killer letters bit. I dislike the ship discussed in the post and I’m not the biggest fan of dark themes personally for my mental health, but it’s also whatever. People are gonna do things I dislike— I simply won’t interact with them. However, to use a serial killer’s writing describing how he killed and consumed a child as captions for an art post?? That crosses a line for me. Especially because we do unfortunately live in an age where people see something cool and don’t look into it further. The idea that people, ignorant to the origins, could take the lines and use them again thinking they’re just a fun, edgy thing this cool AU said makes me really upset.

Since reblogging, I’ve received a DM on behalf of someone who is a fan of the AU and they told me that those captions originate from a vocaloid song taken out of context. It does give an explanation to the usage, but it also proves my worry that people do simply take cool things and use them with no research. I’ll say the same thing publicly that I said to the person in DM— while the creator might not have been aware of what they were doing at the time, they’re aware now. It’d be wise for them to delete the posts, or at least edit the captions. Perhaps apologize and explain things more publicly, so that any other concerned outsiders (or even insiders) don’t think they’re glorifying a serial killer by using such a concerning piece of writing in something as casual as a South Park AU.

General Update + ‘My Love, My Life’ Fic Announcement

Wanted to post a sort of update on my lack of activity as well as let anyone who used to follow my KakaGai fic series I was working on know what’s up with that. Putting everything below a cut to keep it from clogging up anyone’s dashboard, but the main points will be about this blog, my art, a little of what’s been keeping me away, and ‘My Love, My Life’.

Soooo obviously I haven’t been active almost at all on here, OR my side-blogs recently. A large part of that is due to all this health stuff I’ve had going on getting me down, but I’ve also recently started going back to school for the first time in seven years to continue pursuing my degree in 3D animation (currently taking 3 courses), and have two D&D campaigns I’m DMing for. Plus I think that for a while there I just lost my inspiration to write fic/draw fanart. Or to create in general, really.

I’ve still been hanging around, checking in from time to time, but overall I just haven’t really been motivated to work on any projects I had such big plans for. To the point where a lot of the ideas I’d had written down with the intention of writing them out or drawing at some point are now like, 2+ years old. I still love a great deal of the concepts, and would still really like to take the time to put them out there, but a couple things are starting to feel... not dated, necessarily, but I’ve had new thoughts.

That’s where we get to the stuff about my ‘My Love, My Life’ KakaGai fanfic series that I started... a little over three years ago now. And the last time I updated it was about 2 1/2 years ago. Since then, I’ve worked on it a little bit, but the next chapter isn’t even done. I’ve recently been going over the ‘outlines’ I had for what each chapter should be from start to finish (barely a few sentences for each in most cases) and found that...

I don’t really like the plot layout I had planned at the time anymore.

Not to say I’m gonna scrap it all - there were still some really cute ideas I had in there. But I’m looking to do... a full rework of the series from chapter seven (the one after the last published chapter) on. I’m talking about changing the number of chapters per fic, changing the titles I had planned for each chapter (thus changing the order of the playlist since every chapter is named after a song and I have new thoughts on that playlist’s contents). Possibly even changing the number of planned fics in the series.

As a bit of a peek into what that would mean at least for the first part, ‘All I Want’, I was originally planning on having that last 22 chapters and cover from Gai and Kakashi first meeting up to Rin’s death. It’s a lot of ground to cover in that amount of time, but I thought back then that it would be alright. I now think I either want to make it longer or split it up so the first fic is maybe from first meeting to Kakashi ending up on Minato’s team with Rin and Obito and the second part covering his time with that team up until some of the aftermath of Rin’s death?

That way, what was originally planned to be part 2, ‘Unravel’, would still start around the same place as I’d intended (Kakashi being considered for Anbu), while still giving me extra room to play around in the earlier parts of his life without having something that ends up being 50 chapters while every other part is like 20-25ish.

Yes this means that I am intending to continue the series. I know it’s been a long time, but I yet live (barely) and am not planning to ever truly give the series up. If I eventually find myself in my forties writing gay Naruto fanfic, so be it. I have a lot of love for the series, and for KakaGai as a ship still. It’s just a matter of reminding myself that every chapter doesn’t have to be perfect - it just has to be.

Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?* I almost had Sylava ruined for me. Almost. Because of... uh... a certain someone I think we all remember.

Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?* I started coming around to Tumblesquid. It counteracts with my headcanon, but I love the idea of Wander being subtly married to Jeff the whole time.

Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?* I didn’t mind WOY nsfw before, but now all it ever is is Dominator or one of the female characters made to look sexier than they are. People who think Dominator’s hot should actually take a look at the series as a whole, dammit. It’s good.

Most disliked character(s)? Why? Lil’ Bits maybe? She’s a little gimmicky for me as a villain. At least Awesome is fun to hate... Sort of, lol.

Most disliked arc? Why? The arc that got teased in The Robomechabotatron, but ONLY because we never got a 3rd season to develop it. Now it just looks like, “Haha jk we’ll never team up again, we learned nothing.”

Is there an unpopular character you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why? The only I can think of are the sexy princesses from The Hot Shot. I think it’s funny that the staff wanted to joke about Disney princesses who are conventionally attractive and look nothing like their cartoony fathers.

Is there an unpopular arc that you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why? I guess no one’s a big fan of Hater crushing on Dominator, but while it IS a little typical, I really loved watching Hater be a dork when we know that Dominator WILL NEVER LOVE HIM.

Unpopular opinion about XXX character? Dominator’s not that hot? Just because she has an hourglass figure doesn’t make her automatically attractive. That said though, I’m not usually into those types anyway. Goth OR femme fatale.

Unpopular opinion about your fandom? Are there any opinions on us at all? We’re so small, haha. Um, I guess that we’re more determined than some think. I bet Disney’s like, “Look, see? They’re quiet now, they forgot about #SaveWOY just like we thought”. Bitch nah.

I'm the nonnie that wanted advice, thank you for agreeing! English is not my native language, so I will try to make as much sense as I can. First, I want to say that this is not about the RNM/Malex fandom (I follow several people from that fandom, you being one of them, since I ship Malex but this is not about them). One of the reasons I created a Tumblr was to enjoy my ships and to try to connect to other people, since it's hard for me to make friends in real life. So, little by little I started to interact with blogs of that other fandom, reblogging their stuff, commenting, sending asks, even sending some messages. And some people started to talk to me, however, it feels very forced, it feels like they are trying to be nice, but they really don't want to talk to me or include me. And I can easily see that because other “newer” blogs, like mine, get treated differently, much more friendly, and they don't get ignored which I feel like I do. I'm always the one that has to make the first move, but with others it's not like that. I know that I'm jealous, and I shouldn't be, but I have wanted so bad to belong somewhere that I can help it. I don't know if I should just give up, stop trying, and get out of that fandom. Maybe I'm the problem, and I'm just never going to be able to connect to people. Sorry for coming to you with this, it's just that you are always so nice and kind that you made me feel like I could ask you this. You don't have to answer, I know it's too much and that you have nothing to do with it.

I know how hard it is to get into a fandom, especially when you're not a writer or a fan artist/gif maker (i.e. a "contributor" - even though people who comment and send asks are just as important, but I hope you understand what I mean).

On top of that, Tumblr is honestly a terrible platform to make fandom friends (at least in my experience).

What Tumblr is lacking imo (and what makes me miss Livejournal an awful lot) is a way to have any kind of [ongoing] discussion. Or proper [nested!!!] comments. Yes, you can reply to a post, but unless someone checks the notes, no one will see that reply.

Basically, Tumblr is everyone just sitting on their personal island (i.e. blog) yelling into the void, hoping that someone else will hear them. And even if someone hears them yell, and maybe even replies, it's almost impossible to have an actual conversation, let alone build friendships. Tumblr's just not designed for that.

Personally, I’ve had much more luck on Twitter or Discord to find “my people” - platforms much more suitable for conversations, and the focus isn’t as much on “contributing” (in the form of providing or sharing content). (Personally, I loathe IG, but it’s also a platform where you can comment, and that probably also works for some people).

So, my advice would be: try to find “your people” outside of Tumblr. Maybe there’s a Discord server for your fandom where you can actually talk to people (and more than just one person at a time, also people who might not live in a different time zone and won’t reply immediately when you send them an ask 🙃).

If you don’t have Twitter, maybe set up an account and see whether the platform is for you (it’s not for everyone, I know, but I love it and it’s my favorite), but in my experience it’s much easier to get in touch with people there than on Tumblr.

Tumblr is nice for sharing content (even though that’s become a bit of a lost art these days, reblogs are a near extinct art form tbh :P) but it’s shit for forming and becoming a member of a community. And I say that as someone who’s been on this hellsite for over a decade, and has always “contributed” - in some  way at least.

In short: it’s not you, nonnie. I’m sure you are lovely, and anyone would be lucky to have a fandom friend like you who puts so much effort into connecting with others. And I’m truly sorry that you feel like it’s your fault.

It’s not. It really isn’t. (And feeling a bit jealous is a perfectly understandable reaction. You’d be surprised how often I’ve felt like someone who looks at fandom through a window from the outside but is never part of it. That feeling SUCKS big time).

I really hope you’ll be able to find like-minded people elsewhere, where it is easier to connect and talk to people.

Trait They Share Most With Me: Caring a lot about everyone: how they feel, how they see me, whether they’re doing okay 

How They’re Different From Me: My default is being at home on the internet, their default is reading a book at a café. Both of us enjoy the other activity, but there’s a shift in what our ‘standard afternoon’ is. 

Do They Change The Canon Plot?: Not as far as I’ve gotten in BNHA, at least. They’re just there to be a background support to Toshinori, as far as the plot goes. 

Fun Fact: The ‘silvertongue’ Quirk user was originally created as a vigilante high school teacher who was going to be a reader-insert that was shipped with Aizawa. But I put too much of myself into the character and it became a self-insert, and I realized that I shipped myself more with Toshinori, so the reader-insert fanfic never did get finished. Tragic.

Sooooooo I just realized you tagged one of my artworks as SessRin but it’s… not? I’m not a SessRin shipper. It’s tagged as Sesshomaru x Rin, but the portrayal of them is suppose to be a father-daughter dance for Valentine’s Day… though I guess it could be misconstrued otherwise.

Anyway, I just thought I’d clear that up, even though I don’t really owe an explanation to anybody, it just kinda bothered me a little bit that I forgot to put in some context. It’s even been posted to Dokuga, but there was an issue on the site which made me give up on re-writing my description over and over. XD

It took me awhile (thanks to tumblrs Very Functional search feature) but I found my reblog and have edited the tags. I knew it had to be from awhile ago, thanks to yashahime I pretty much never reblog sessrin stuff anymore, it has soured my taste for the ship. Like I’m still fine with it existing, and I hope people who hardcore ship it find yashahime’s version as terrible as I do, but I rarely want to see it on my dash lol. I do remember this post though, I tagged it sessrin because when I read “Name x Name” to me that implies romantic ship, same with “Name/Name” and “Namesmash.” Platonic ship I’m used to seeing it as “Name & Name,” but that may just be because I’m Old™️ lol

Way back shortly after I’d first joined tumblr and I had barely worked out how the site functioned, I HAD at least parsed out that commenting on a post was “loud” and tags were “quiet” so I used the tags extensively when voicing my thoughts on a post. Well an artist took issue with one of my tags and immediately blocked me, but first she screenshotted my post (username and all) to post on her own blog to ridicule me to her presumably many followers and tbh it was very upsetting to me and to this day I still don’t understand why she didn’t just message me about it. Alas!

Hey y’all.

It’s been a while. Just wanted to give you all an update in case anyone was worried or whatever since it’s been pretty quiet here lately!

TLDR: I’m thriving and living my best life, but I just don’t have the interest/time/energy to run this blog the way I used to. All asks currently in my inbox will be deleted, and there is no guarantee that future asks will be answered - but I will leave my inbox open. This blog isn’t going anywhere - you’re welcome to reblog anything from my archives!

If you’re reading this and you want juicy details and sordid affairs, you’ll be sorely disappointed. Consider this just, like, an open letter to anyone who cared about me and this blog personally.

I hope you’re doing well! As I said above the read more I’m doing very well - I’ve graduated college, I’m going to graduate school to do research in my special interest, and I have wonderful friends who love and support me. I’ve started medication that’s immensely improved my mental health and stability, and I’m happy with where I’m going in life. I recently got my permanent disability parking placard and a new custom mobility aid which is very exciting for me since it will reduce my pain and hopefully increase my spoons to do things I love like hiking and art!

That said, I stepped away from active use of this blog for quite some time, and while not wholly the reason I’ve stepped away, there were a few incidents that’s have…not necessarily ruined self shipping for me, not at all, but they did put a bad taste in my mouth. I just want to get it off my chest, y’know? The people involved in these incidents were either rightfully upset that I overstepped a boundary or well meaning but confused individuals - I bear them no ill will and I hope they’re as happy and fulfilled in life as they can be.

The first incident was fully my mistake - I reblogged what was meant to be a personal post intended for mutuals only to this blog under the impression that it was self ship related. Unfortunately, with how many people follow this blog and the fact that it was in my queue and posted after I had fallen asleep, it wasn’t until the next day that I realized my mistake. The OP was understandably upset - both that a personal post had so many notification and that it was being treated as self ship material. I apologized, deleted the reblog, and contacted as many blogs as I could who had reblogged the post asking them to delete their reblog, but it was still a very stressful situation that further increased my existing reluctance to interact with other self ship blogs.

The second incident was a case of mistaken identity. I originally made this blog kind of out of spite - a self ship blog with a similar url had at the time been revealed to be run by a queerphobe. I, being queer, made a blog with a similar url sort of as a ‘fuck you’ to a blog I had previously enjoyed visiting for self ship content. Unfortunately, picking a similar url resulted in at least one person mistaking me for the queerphobic self ship blog. They made a vague call out post and tagged me in it - so I was able to reach out to them and explain the situation before that post reached very far at all. They were very apologetic and while I appreciate that, it did stress me out that other people might see my url and associate my blog with the bigot who ran a blog with a similar url. I have a strong aversion to changing my blog urls/themes/etc. (the autism is strong in me) so I never had the heart to change my url in spite of this potential recurring issue.

At the time of the second incident I had just barely gotten back into actively running this blog, and it just felt like the straw that broke the camel’s back. So I stepped back for quite a while - as you can see from last year’s annual pride month reblog haha - and I have fallen out of public self shipping personally. As a result I just do not have the motivation or the investment to continue posting self ship content - and I struggled for a long time to decide that it’s just too much for me, for something I don’t know I’ll ever feel the same about again.

I want to thank you - I’m assuming, if you’re still reading, you’ve been here a while and knew me when I posted actively in the community. I figured out that I was a lesbian here - that I was transgender and didn’t have a pronoun preference - and you were nothing but supportive and welcoming. Thank you for all the good memories - the ask games, the writing prompts, the positivity and the community you shared - I will not forget the good times I had here. And I hope you have some good memories of my time here to remember me by.
