JACK HUGHES

— is so patient & gentle with her it’s crazy

— ^ like he’s so careful with his words when speaking to her & always makes sure that she’s comfortable

— speaks for her when she’s too shy to speak. like when the three of you are out at a restaurant & she’s too shy to tell the waiter what she wants, he’ll do it for her & always makes sure to ask her exactly what she wants beforehand so there’s no mistakes when ordering

— holds her hand when she gets anxious & squeezes it a couple of times to make sure she knows that he’s there for her

— she much prefers you over jack due to how calmer you are as a person but he doesn’t mind at all. if anything, he’s glad that she’s able to find solace in the reader as he can only imagine how hard it is to be shy & quiet as a child

— he genuinely tries to be more calmer & quiet in her presence. it’s a work in progress

— jack makes sure to give her a puck before every home game & blows her a kiss before skating off. he also makes sure to dedicate his second goal to her, his first dedicated to you always

KIRBY DACH

— she’s so small in comparison to kirby it’s insane

— he always holds her close wherever they go together. since you both live in montréal, & it’s cold, he always bundles her up so it’s quite funny to see him carrying just a ball of wrapped baby

— kirby’s so much more gentler & quieter with her. he can definitely tell when she’s having a more quiet day & is the best in making her comfortable

— 100% tries to help with her shyness by signing her up in sports or other activities to try to get her out of her shell

— ^ you once suggested summer camp & kirby was super hesitant about it but she ended up loving it so much that she couldn’t wait for the next summer. kirby lowkey felt sad at that bc all he wants to do is spend time with his baby girl & her going off nearly every summer for however many weeks just goes to show how much she’s growing

— whenever she gets nervous or eerily quiet, he holds out his hand for her & just dance around with her. it never fails to put a smile on her face & always gets her out of her funk

— kirby made her a bracelet when she was younger & she wore the shit out of it. it’s now just string but she always played with it whenever she got nervous or approached a new person at school in hopes of being their friend. she still carries it around with her for comfort

— is so supportive in whatever she does

— ^ she wants to play pickleball instead of hockey? he’s already checking out all the gear she’ll need. decides last minute to wear a princess dress instead of her school uniform? he’s asking her which dress she wants. she wants to try to make a friend by herself at the park? he’s sitting back & observing w/ a smile on his face

— kirby’s very big on communication so he always makes sure to check in on her & her feelings. it’s gotten to the point where she’ll just tell you how she feels instead of reader or kirby having to ask

— is also the type of dad to have matching costumes with his daughter

— ^ one year they went as (pink) kirby & princess daisy. it was so fucking cute. it’s one of your lock screens in your phone hehe

— is the one to wake her up in the morning & ease any anxiety she has about school or making new friends

— ^ he’ll brush back the hair from her face & softly speak to her as she voices her concerns & he’s so good at proving that she has nothing to be afraid of. he also makes sure that she’s confident in whatever she wears so kirby allows her to choose her outfits (she’s a little fashionista fr)

NICO HISCHIER

— mans will be the gentlest giant with her

— ^ cuddles 24/7 & nothing but affirmations from this man

— he can understand how hard it is to be so shy & quiet so he always tries his best to make little goals with his daughter in hopes of breaking her out of her shell

— ^ he’ll ask her what she wants to achieve that day on their way to school. it can be anything ranging from making a flower crown to asking someone to play with her during playtime. he’s always so proud of her when she runs up to him after school with the biggest smile on her face, telling him what she achieved that day

— nico’s heart always warms whenever he sees reader & their daughter together. she’s a lot like you & he’s so proud & thankful that he’s been blessed with this kind of life

— encourages her to go to practices with him whenever she’s allowed to

— is def the dad to be up on the stage with his daughter during her ballerina recital

— takes her to new places for exposure & although it’s nerve racking for the both of them, it’s something that neither of them will forget bc of the fun memories

— she does eventually “grow out” of being quiet & shy. she’s got a lot more tools to work with when she’s anxious or feeling shy & nico is always there to help her whenever she needs it

— plays with her hair when he sees that she’s going back into her shell

— ^ he allows her to do so most days but he knows the importance of building up your confidence when young & making friends so he plays with her hair for a bit while he talks to her to bring back up her mood. it usually works

— 100% the one to talk to her about her anxieties & make her feel better about them after

— nico tries everything to get her more out of her shell. he puts her into sports he thinks she’ll enjoy. makes sure she goes to her classmates birthday parties. all that stuff with different goals in mind so even if she doesn’t make a new friend, she’ll still have something to be proud of herself for

TREVOR ZEGRAS

— tbh, he has no clue what to do lol

— he’s learned a great amount of patience with his daughter

— he def tries to understand why she’s so quiet & shy. this leads him to reading about it more & seeking out answers on what he could do to accommodate her more

— trev 100% had to go to jamie for help since they’re both alike in personality. he’s such a big help

— will do anything to protect her & make sure she’s comfortable

— ^ whether that be in his arms or by herself, he’s ready to do whatever

— practices speaking up for herself. trevor will be so much more talkative about how he feels & what he’s doing throughout the day w/ her that she’ll eventually pick up on it & do it herself

— ^ if she’s not confident enough to verbalize it, she’ll write it & sometimes he & her go back & forth with letters. reader got the whole family a notebook so they all can communicate through that if verbalizing it is too hard

— mans literally shed a tear when she made her first friend

— the entire ducks team adore her

— let’s her take the reins in some things. it gives her the confidence to do things for herself & he can see the change in her behavior when she has more control over certain choices

— if she’s feeling shy or anxious, trevor will suggest they play hide ‘n seek or another game to get her mind off things or to simply just make her laugh & have a good time

— always on high energy when he wakes her up & sometimes she bounces off him with it but most often, she doesn’t so he has to check himself a lot & be a lot more calmer around her in the morning

the boys with a shy, quiet son:

JAMIE DRYSDALE

— is so happy to have a kid just like him. he literally looks just like jamie & acts like him it’s kind of eerie

— before jamie leaves for morning skate, he always presses a kiss to the crown of his sons forehead, whispering a promise of coming back & waking him up for breakfast

— ^ jamie takes great pleasure in waking up your son every morning after he returns from morning skate. he just looks so cute with his dark hair all sprawled about, still wiping the sleep from his eyes as he reaches out for his dad. jamie always chuckled to himself as he takes his son into his arms & rubs his back soothingly, making his way out to the kitchen where you are

— you & jamie are one of the only people your son plays with so it’s always a hassle to try to encourage him to play with other children his age

— ^ the one time it works is when jamie took him to the park & started talking to one of the other dads there. his son saw him talking to someone new so he decided that if his dad can do it, then so can he. he made two friends that day & they regularly go on play dates

— you always encourage both jamie & your son to be more friendly & talkative as you know it would most likely help them break out of their shells a little bit

— he put your son into hockey in hopes of him coming out of his shell a little bit & it def worked. jamie sometimes has to drag your son off of the ice bc he doesn’t want to leave just yet

— he’s really only friendly to certain people like trevor or mason since he’s known them since he could remember. it’s just other people he’s super hesitant about but both him & jamie are working on it together!

— loves loves holding him & taking him everywhere

— he always talks to him too about whatever & his son usually responds talking about something random. it’s how he developed his rambling habit whenever he meets new kids lol

— when he got traded, jamie was really nervous to see how your son reacted to the change since it was so sudden & abrupt. but he surprisingly took it really well. he even said hi to some of the other players after the game, head buried into readers collarbone as he waved to those walking passed him

— ^ the flyers def love your son & always include him on their “barking”. once he gets comfortable enough, he just kind of screams instead of barking but the whole team just eats it up & loves it, cheering him on

LUKE HUGHES

— he & his son are one in the same

— ^ they have the same facial expressions for everything & it’s too funny when they overhear someone saying some random shit & make the exact same face

— your son may be shy & quiet but he’s also calm & mellow. he speaks through his eyes & facial expressions

— ^ has a rbf & is not afraid to use it (especially if someone’s bothering him or you lol)

— reader 100% believes that her son is an old soul & is just done with living. like little dude barely tries to make friends (granted he is shy & it’s a little difficult for him) & just doesn’t have much to say & when he does, he has you reevaluating your life after a conversation

— lukes fav thing to do with his son is put a shit ton of blankets on the couch, make a fort, & watch his favorite movies while snacking on mac n cheese & homemade cookies. they do it nearly every night luke’s home

— he’s super gentle & patient with him as he tries to navigate his shyness. luke encourages him to make friends but doesn’t pressure him at all & also puts him into sports in hopes that he makes them naturally through that

— ^ & it does work! he’s made so many friends through hockey, soccer, baseball, etc.. although he is still quite shy & quiet during his games, which he is actively working on

— whispers to him when he’s overwhelmed & rubs his back in comfort as his son crawls into his arms

— puts him to bed & reads him bedtime stories

— at the lake house, luke is ever the more observant & cautious with his son. he makes sure to put sunscreen on him & that he always has his hat on to protect him from the sun

— ^ when he asked luke if he could go wake boarding with him, he nearly squealed in excitement. his son doesn’t really feel comfortable trying new things so this is a HUGE step in the right direction. holds onto him so tight as he giggles whenever luke does tricks. he has such a blast

QUINN HUGHES

— these two are a mirror image of each other it’s insane

— ^ ellen pointed it out to you a few weeks after you had given birth & you can’t unsee it (your son & quinn are twinsies fr)

— even tho his son is shy, he highly encourages him to make some friends in pre-k but assures him that he should take it day by day & that he’ll always love him no matter what

— definitely tries to make him less anxious by taking him in his arms & giving him raspberries in his neck or on his stomach. it helps take his mind off of whatever he was thinking about

— his son always wants to see him right after quinn’s games, which isn’t always possible so sometimes he has him join him for interviews. just quinns presence makes his son calm

— ^ quinns def encouraged him to answer or speak into the mic & his son is always a blushing mess after he says hi into it, hiding his face in the crook of quinns neck as everyone awes

— quinn always has a hand on his son. whether it be on top of his curly hair or on his back as his soothingly rubs it. he always has to have a hand on your son as quinn knows that he’s his son safe person. it makes the both of them feel better

— always tries to include him in everything (when it’s appropriate) so he’ll def bring him to events or practices. it exposes him to more things & it eases his sons anxiety with stuff like that

— 100% does arts & crafts with him. it’s so fucking cute istg

— when he’s old enough to understand certain words, quinn will tell him about his struggles with being a quiet child as well. he wants his son to know that he’s not alone & never is

— gets him a bear that has a voice recorder in it with the both of you saying “we love you bud! you got this!” that he plays every morning & it 100% makes him feel better about whatever he was worried about

— his son’s biggest cheerleader fr

— ^ the loudest you will ever hear quinn be is at his sons sports game or when he gets an award. he’s so proud of him & all of his progress, no matter how great or small

LUCA FANTILLI

— is off the walls ecstatic to just have a child really

— loves him either way

— luca is definitely his sons safe person so luca always has him in his arms or has a hand on his head as he clings onto his leg

— always refers to him as “buddy” or “my little buddy”, which gets him out of his shell sometimes since he wants to be just like his dad

— so so patient & understanding

— ^ will sit by his son as he’s trying to express himself without feeling nervous & lets him take his time. also helps him through his emotions as well

— encourages him to practice his “social skills” on him so he can remember what to say or do when he wants to make a new friend

— takes him to practice when allowed & just lets him chill or play around with the pucks

— ^ the entire umich team loves loves your son & although he is shy, they always make an effort to talk to him or fist bump him every time they skate by him. they respect his boundaries 100% too

— ^^ monday questions with him is always 50/50. sometimes he’ll be up for it & other times he won’t. but when he is, he’s so cute & giggly as he answers the question (most definitely copying his dads answer)

— reader is the one to wake him up more often than not & he much prefers it that way. you’re much calmer than luca at times so your son loves to just cuddle up to you as you pick him up & make your way to the kitchen where luca is making breakfast

— luca has him do the “shakes” whenever he’s feeling anxious about something

— ^ he told his son that it helps with getting the nerves out & he’ll absolutely just start shaking his arms or whole body out of nowhere to get rid of them

— the king at back rubs fr

— gets all papa bear when he hears from his sons teacher that some kids were making fun of him for being so quiet. luca literally gives a stern talking to to their parents & tells his son that bullies only do that to make themselves feel better since they feel “bad/insecure” about themselves. him being shy & quiet is something that he shouldn’t be ashamed of as it is apart of him & luca & reader love every inch of their son, no matter what

— posts “ootd” stories on his insta & hypes up his son as he poses & giggles

— always makes sure to shower his son in praise whenever he achieves a goal or makes a new friend. he’s so excited for his little buddy & his progress!

COLE CAUFIELD

— is surprisingly good at this for some reason

— knows all the tricks to encourage his son to get out of his shell & interact with others

— ^ you’re suspicious of him sometimes bc whatever he does or suggests always works. it’s like he’s psychic or something

— if he’s not having a good day, cole will gather his son in his arms & hold his close to his chest. sometimes he even puts his sweatshirt over him as he’s wearing it so he feels even safer

— cole throws ice cream parties whenever his son makes a new friend or talks to someone for longer than five minutes

— ^ you think it’s a bit excessive but start to see the progress he’s making in breaking through his shell so you don’t stop cole from continuing to throw them. you eventually find it super cute & heartfelt

— def encourages him to find something he’s passionate about to take his mind off whatever he’s feeling anxious about. sports is something he wants to try so cole sort of threw him into whatever sport he thought he’d enjoy

— ^ soccer is something your son enjoys as communication has to be constant between all the players & it encourages him to be more vocal

— is really good at implementing coping techniques/mechanisms for his son if he ever needs them. lowkey a therapist fr (he’s got extensive knowledge about this shit that you sometimes wonder what cole would be like as an actual therapist)

— gets super excited when he does something out of his comfort zone & makes sure his son knows how proud of him he is

— is super patient & understanding

— it’s a tradition for cole to take him to practice once or twice a month (or week) & the boys absolutely love your son!

— ^ little dude is a completely different person on the ice it’s insane. all of his shyness & quiet tendencies disappear & he just has so much fun that it sometimes makes cole tear up with pride & happiness

Cynthia Jade Brown the only child of the Brown family. Her father, Christopher Brown a famous movie director that has directed many films that have received oscar’s, he used to be a hockey player up until he graduated collage along side his best friend Jim Hughes. Then he met his wife, Anna Woods an inspiring and rising artist at the time and now has many famous art museums around the world. Christopher and Anna moved to Ontario around similar time as the Hughes, making the three Hughes brothers and Cynthia grow up around each other. The two families always have been very close and more like one family, as they lived next store to each other.

Cynthia having followed her mothers passion in art but loving to design clothes and modeling the most, she became a model at a young age, but that’s not saying she didn’t love hockey like how her father and the Hughes, it just wasn’t something she wanted to do as a career, she played most of her life and had offers to go professional but couldn’t see herself doing so, so she decided to stop playing on a team but still practices and plays fun games with the Hughes brothers as much as possible.

Cynthia and Jack were born on the same day a year apart making the two act like twins and Jack insisting that the two are twins and best friends, They have always had a special bond, a bond that is completely platonic. Jack and Cynthia are always been on each other others sides. Jack has always been very protective of his best friend. The two have always lived near each other as Cynthia and Jack went to New Jersey the same time and lived with their friend Ty for a few years before Cynthia got her own penthouse that was close by but the two have always lived within a few minutes of each other. They were also pretty young when they moved away from their family so they started a lot of traditions just the two of them as they celebrated most holidays and birthdays together, when one of them were sick they would take care of each other, when they were just having a bad day they always have each other.

Quinn has always remembered having Cynthia in his life and having been told from a young to protect his younger siblings that just made him assume that included Cynthia as well, it wasn’t till he got older he realized that she wasn’t actually his sister but that didn’t change anything, he’s always been the most protective of her and has always had a huge soft spot for his little sister. Cynthia does tend to have a jobs in Vancouver or Seattle and will always make it into a little trip to visit Quinn for the few days and watch his game. Cynthia always thought of Quinn as her big brother and her biggest protector.

Now Cynthia and Luke have always been more complicated, if you asked Jack he would say he thought the two treated each other like siblings but if you asked anyone else in either of their families they would tell you Luke has always had the biggest heart eyes for Cynthia. As Luke grew the more he realized what he felt for Cynthia and there were years where he could barely speak to her or be anywhere near her without blushing or stuttering over his words. Cynthia though has always been hesitant for what she felt for Luke as Jack has always been her best friend and she doesn’t ever want to betray his trust by falling for his little brother, Cynthia never realized what Luke felt for her and she didn’t want to start something with him that could end bad if he never felt the same. Cynthia has always treated him kindly and she treated the softest out of everyone but she tried to pretend that her feelings for him was platonic.

Ellen and Cynthia have always had an adorable relationship, Ellen having always wanted a daughter, has one in Cynthia. Ellen and Anna have been best friends since childhood. There’s been many days where the mom’s and Cynthia will go shopping and have a girls days, most of those times the three boys would complain that the moms were taking their Cynthia. Ellen is the only Cynthia has talked about her feelings for Luke. Ellen has always know Cynthia was made for Luke and she knows the two will end up together one day. It was Ellen who suggested the name Cynthia to her parents and they chose it for her name.

Jim and Cynthia are just as close, Cynthia enjoying just watching hockey games with Jim and her father, she’s always enjoyed spending time with Jim always thinking of him like a second father. Jim and Christopher met on their first hockey teams as children and have been best friends since. Jim always enjoyed Cynthia destroying his boys on the ice as she’s always been an amazing hockey player, one even the boys have hard time keeping up with.

Christopher and Anna had always planned for lots kids, they wanted a very big family but the birth of Cynthia was a very very dangerous one and it caused Anna to not be able to have any more children, and at first the two were devastated they couldn’t give their daughter siblings and have a big family but the more they thought about it Cynthia was perfect for them and in the end they ended up gaining three sons in Quinn, Jack and Luke. Their family felt full and completely with all of them. Cynthia has always been the perfect mix of her parents, her sparkling hazel eyes from her father, her button nose from her mother, her chestnut brown hair from her mother, her determination and passion of hockey from her father, her ability in everything art from her mother, her stubbornness definitely from both of her parents, her cheekiness from her father, her kindness from her mother.

Cynthia started collage in 2019 having graduated high school a year early, going to The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, the number one collage for fashion. She started living with Jack as her collage is only a few minutes away from New Jersey. She started at a new agency for modeling and she started her classes to get her degree in fashion design. After finishing her first year at college she knew this is where she wanted to live for a long while.

Cynthia was cuddled up in her bed in her room at the Hughes lake house, sketching a new design in her sketch book, hearing a knock at the door and calling a come in. She looked up seeing Luke shyly peaking his head in the room holding something behind his back, She smiled patting the spot of her bed next to her, “Hi lukey.”

Luke smiled walking over ignoring the heat rising to his cheeks, “Hi jj.” Luke the only person who’s ever been aloud to call her that, Luke having picked the nickname from her middle name Jade. Luke sat down next to her bringing his hand forward showing a napkin filled with something as he gently unfolded the napkin revealing a bunch of warm chocolate chip cookies, “Mom made cookies so i grabbed a bunch before the rest of them could steal them all.” He brushed back a curl off his forehead avoiding eye contact with the girl he’s always been in love with.

Cynthia heart soften the way it only ever did around Luke, a reminder of what she will always feel for him despite trying to hide it with one night stands and short relationships, “Your the sweetest Lukey, Thank you.” She smiled squeezing Luke arm in thankfulness before grabbing a cookie and munching on it. Cynthia looked up at a Luke seeing him yawn and his eyes drooping the way they do when he’s tried and needs a nap. She pulled back the covers on the other side of the bed patting it while looking at Luke.

“What?” Luke looked at in confusion trying not to get his hopes up that she wants him to lay next to her.

“Come here silly i can see you falling asleep from here.” Cynthia gently smiled, watching the red hue appear darker on his cheeks before he got up and slid under the covers resting his head on the pillow before looking yp at her eyes looking for something, something she wasn’t sure what before he scooted forward and cuddled into her side and his arm draped across her stomach. Cynthia tensed slightly before relaxing running a tentative hand through Luke’s curls becoming more comfortable at the happy sound that left Luke and how he melted even more into her.

“Thank you baby.” Luke voice was deep with sleep his eyes already fluttered shut falling asleep so quick he didn’t even realize the name fall for him lips, but Cynthia did, making her hand freeze and her eyes widen in surprise looking down at a peaceful sleeping Luke.

Maybe that was a sign, a sign to her Luke does feel something for her. She thought back to all her memories with Luke and the way he’s always been sweet and wanting to be around her, she remembers how his cheeks are always red around her and tried to remember a time she’s seen him with a girl where his cheeks were blushed, maybe she’s been so involved trying to push her feelings away she’s missed all the signs in front of her. Maybe she should try with Luke not missing out a change of an epic love with him for Jack. She has a feeling now that for the first time in five years that they are going to live close by each other again, things are going to change and that filled her with an odd amount of excitement.

Luke groaned throwing his head back as the pillow fell to the floor having not been able to block the sounds coming from the room across from him. Luke pulled his phone out of his pocket opening up his text messages with Cynthia.

cynthia: about to be, why?

luke: Can i come over? Jack has a girl over.

cynthia: course lukey🤍

Luke clicked his phone off throwing his legs off the side of the bed, hitting the floor with his feet, he slid on a pair of air forces. He grabbed his hockey bag that was hanging from his desk chair, he grabbed another outfit knowing he’s staying the night and have practice in the morning so there’s no point to come home first, he grabbed some of his toiletries throwing them in his bag before grabbing his hoodie and throwing it, quickly walking out the apartment trying to avoid hearing anymore sounds for him brother and the girl he had over.

Luke quickly hopped into his car starting the thirty ish minute drive to Cynthia’s penthouse, the drive was done before he knew it and he was parking his car and walking through the front lobby giving them the workers a nod knowing they already know him having seen him here many times before. Luke got in the elevator heading to the top floor that Cynthia’s penthouse is at. Luke walked out of the elevator heading towards the front door knocking on it, leaning against the wall waiting to hear his favorite footsteps, after a minute or two he heard a pair of footsteps rushing to the door, unlocking it showing a freshly shower Cynthia who’s dark brown hair is soaking wet falling down her back and a white fluffy towel wrapped around her, her body still wet from the shower.

“Hi Lukey! Sorry i took longer that i thought.” Cynthia smiled at her favorite boy tightening her grip on her towel that’s covering her, Luke harshly swallowed trying not to look at anything other than her eyes.

“It’s fine.” Luke smiled tightly trying to ignore the thoughts coming to his head, walking in feeling his skin spark at the slight brush of his arm to hers.

“I’ll be right back.” Cynthia quickly headed down the hall towards where he knows is her room.

Luke slipped his shoes off putting them on the self in the front entrance, he walked to the living room setting his bag on one of the chairs before taking a seat on her couch. He leaned his head back resting it against the back of the couch closing his eyes, before opening them hearing the patter of footsteps coming towards him, Cynthia wearing a knitted white sweater that loosely hung off her shoulder and a pair of grey sweatpants that were way to big for her, a pair that looks exactly like his the ones she borrowed from him.

“Are those my sweatpants?” Luke looked up at her grinning as he asked the question, he already knew the answer as the pants have his number on one of the front pockets and his old school logo. He thought she just got rid of them after she borrowed them a few years ago when she spent a weekend at his collage to watch him play.

Cynthia cheeks got slightly red, “Yes.”

Luke smiled seeing the red on her cheeks, He bit his lip to stop a bigger grin from forming on his face before patting the spot next to him, She quickly walked over to him and sitting next to him and she looked slight hesitant to move any closer, Luke saw this and put his arm slowly around her and pulled her closer. He watched as she relaxed fully against him and he heard her breathe out sigh as she cuddled into his chest, he smiled leaning down to kiss the top of her head.

Luke has felt the change between them since the lake house, Cynthia the last few years has always been more hesitant around Luke and been less touchy with him but lately she seems to have relaxed and is back to cuddling with him like she used to a lot.

“Jack has another girl over.” Cynthia quietly chucked knowing what’s its like to live with Jack, having lived with him for almost two years when they both moved to New Jersey and then she moved to New York to her own penthouse.

“Yeah it’s the same one as the last few times though.” Luke answered running a hand through Cynthia’s wet hair.

“The same one?” Cynthia asked in surprise as Jack has been on a playboy streak the last year since his break up with his ex.

“I know!” Luke laughed having thought the same thing, knowing Jack doesn’t sleep with the same person twice so it was different.

“You’re staying the night, right?” Cynthia asked hoping Luke will stay like he has the last few times he came over the last month since he’s moved to New Jersey.

“Course Jj.”

“Good.” Cynthia looked at Luke wrist looking at his watch seeing that it was already almost nine a clock at night and she was starving, “Did you eat?”

“Nope not yet.” Luke twirled a piece of her hair around his finger, “Chinese?”

“Duh!” Cynthia grinned knowing Luke loves the Chinese place she always gets food from. Cynthia quickly pulled out her phone ordering there usually for delivery and paying for it before Luke could it. She grinned as she felt Luke try to take her phone she moved forwards out of the way laughing as she submitted the order.

“Hey i was suppose to buy this time.” Luke playfully complained wrapping his arms around her waist pulling her towards him making her fall into his lap, he dug his fingers into her side where he knows is her ticklish spot and he was right soon the penthouse was filled with sound of her laugh and Luke chuckles as he watched her try to squirm away.

“I-m S-orr-y.” Cynthia tried to get out as she continued to laugh.

“No you’re not.” Luke smiled slowly stopping tickling her, Her laugh slowly died down but her smile stay bright and full, Her head turned making their noses brush, both not realizing they were that close, and not even paying attention that she is still sitting on his lap.

“Hi.” Cynthia voice was barley a whispered when she looked up Luke through her long eyelashes and her hand rested on the back of his neck, her fingers curling around one of his curls.

“Hi.” Luke whispered back watching her as he gently moved forward and bumped his nose with hers, loving how her nose scrunched in response.

She gently leaned towards him and rested her forehead against his, feeling at peace in his arms and she knew then, that she couldn’t push her feelings away anymore and she deserved a chance to love him and Luke deserves to be loved.

Luke smiled closing his eyes enjoying the closeness with Cynthia.

Cynthia pulled back from him resting her head on his shoulder feeling his hands run though her hair.

“Can i braid your hair?” Luke softly asked as both of their mothers have taught him from a young age, as he always wanted to be the one to do Cynthia’s hair for her.

“Course.” Cynthia lifted her head off his shoulder kissing his cheek and gently getting up and walking to down the hall to her bathroom, not seeing the red that grew on Luke’s cheek at the affection from her.

Luke watched as she came back with her brush and hair ties. Cynthia walked over sitting between his legs handing him the brush and relaxing at him doing her hair.

Luke gently brushed her hair out before splitting it into three sections and starting the braid as he done thousands of times before.

Cynthia wasn’t even sure if Luke knew how much she only enjoyed him doing her hair, she didn’t like when anyone else did it. She felt him reaching the end of the braid and handed him the hair tie.

“There.” Luke set the braid on her shoulder letting her see, “Beautiful as always.” He smiled down at her watching her look at him with a look in her eyes he’s sees through the mirror in his own.

Cynthia turned slightly still sitting on the floor between his legs resting her cheek on his thigh, looking up at Luke. She doesn’t know how she’s misread the look he’s giving her, a look she realizes he’s always given her.

Luke hand went towards her cheek hovering slightly from touching her looking at her for permission, He watched her smile at him before moving her head towards his hand and nuzzling into his hand. Luke couldn’t help but smile watching Cynthia.

Luke didn’t want her to sit on the floor any longer, “Come here.” Luke patted the spot next to him as he gently took his hand off her face.

Cynthia eyes flickered towards him before biting her lip before she stood up, she looked at Luke who was watching her as she slowly sat down on his lap instead on the couch. She watched his face for anything to make her get off him but all she saw was a smile grow and red rush to his cheeks. Cynthia rested her ear against his chest hearing his heart beat as she cuddled up on her lap, something that is easy to do as there is seven inches of height difference between the two.

Luke looked down smiling seeing Cynthia fully curled up on his lap, he grabbed one of her hands fiddling with the stacks of rings on her fingers. The two sat in comfortable silence for a while, before the doorbell went off, the two knowing it’s their food.

Cynthia grumbled slightly as she was starting fall asleep in the comfort of Luke, Luke smiled slightly brushing her baby hair off her forehead, “Come on baby, we’ve got to get up.” Luke didn’t even realize what he called her, to focused watching her reluctantly getting off him and heading towards the kitchen. Luke shook his head fondly before standing up and heading to the door grabbing the food that was set on the floor in front of the door, he locked and closed the door behind before heading to the kitchen where he saw her waiting for him.

Cynthia head was rested on the kitchen island as she sat on one of her barstool chairs when she heard him walk into the kitchen setting the food down, She lifted her head helping him unpack the food, Luke slid into the chair next to her as they shared all their favorites.

They are in silence before they both finished and they both got up to throw their trash away. Luke turned around from the trash can taking the trash from Cynthia’s hand throwing it away. He turned back around seeing her lean her body against the kitchen island looking at him. Luke walked closer towards her, looking down at her noticing how her eyes were moving around his face slowly but kept flickering back to his lips, he gently put his hand on her waist and easily picked up her setting her up on the kitchen island.

Luke rested his hands on both sides of her legs leaning towards her slightly, “Tell me to stop and i will.” Luke voice was barley a shaky whisper, he knew if he kissed her once he would never be able to stop. The tension between the two had been there for years, filled with unspoken feelings and yearning for each other.

Cynthia took a deep breath, she didn’t want to hide her love for Luke anymore, she wanted to be with him despite what might happen with Jack, Ellen once told her she needs to listen to her heart and not her head so right now she going to listen to her heart. “Kiss me Luke.”

And that’s all it took for Luke to leaned towards capturing her lips with his, her hands went to the back of his head pulling him closer as the two kept kissing, both of their hearts beating so loud and the only though they had was each other. They both could feel the others smiles grow as they kissed. The two slowly pulled back to both catch their breaths.

“I’ve been wanting to do that for a long time.” Luke shyly confessed his cheeks red and his breath slight short from kissing her so long, he watch her smile turn shy and pink dust her cheeks, a look that makes her look even more beautiful.

“Me too.” Cynthia admitted looking up at him with a smile reserved just for him, “I’m sorry it took awhile.” She grabbed one of his hands squeezing it with both of her hands before pressing the back of his hand to her lips.

“It’s okay.” Luke face was set in a permanent smile, he knew they needed to talk more about everything but right now he was content with just holding her, he scooted as close as he could with her sitting on the counter, feeling her head rest again his chest. Luke leaned his head forward kissing her head before resting his chin on her head. He could feel the soft yawns coming from her.

Luke gently stepped back from her making her look up at him, “Come on baby let’s get you to bed.” She looked up with him puppy eyes that are impossible to say no too, she wrapped her arms around his shoulders.

Luke just smiled easily lifting her off the counter and feeling her legs wrap around his waist and her head nuzzling into his neck. Luke gently held her as he walked across her penthouse towards her room, He walked towards her bed pulling back her white and pink flowered duvet covert and gently leaned down with her letting her back hit the bed and feeling her gently let go of him as she cuddled into her bed. Luke brushed a stray hair off her forehead before kissing her forehead and standing up turning away and going to head to his guest room when a voice called out.

“Lukey where are you going?” Cynthia voice was soft as she lifted her head slightly seeing Luke starting to walk towards the door.

“My room?” Luke questioned not knowing if it was too early to stay in her bed.

Cynthia just looked at him and smiled, she turned over in bed pulling up the other side of the duvet and patting the bed while looking towards Luke.

Luke smiled before pulling his hoodie and shirt off and setting them on the couch in front of her bed before sliding into the bed, next to her feeling Cynthia instantly cuddled up next to him and breath out a sigh of relief.

“You’re never not sleeping next to me you’re so warm.” Cynthia mumbled cuddling up as close as possible, enjoying the warmth Luke always seem to carry on him and she is usually always very cold.

“Okay Baby.” Luke smiled kissing her head, feeling her already falling asleep and it wasn’t soon before he fell asleep.

— whenever he’s home, she demands for jamie to play w/ her & he’s immediately following her into the corner of the living room where all of her toys are

— always playing tea time with her & he loves loves it

— he’s always tired after playing with her & he gets tired super easily but he’s def getting better at it!

— jamie’s managed to convince his daughter that she needs naps throughout the day to maintain her energy & to play so she always has him whisk her off for naps. he gently tucks her in & lightly sings her a lullaby to sleep (something he does during bedtime too). these are probably the only times reader & jamie has some peace & quiet so they definitely take advantage of it by relaxing or catching up

— poor reader is always tired out by both of her boys that they always catch her asleep on the couch or in their bed. the two join her in her naps & it’s one of the rare & peaceful moments they have where jack & his son are willingly quiet & calm as they join reader in her slumber

— everyone should be concerned for this man bc his child does not give a single fuck

— ^ his son always wakes up in the wee hours of the morning just to run around & play. it’s lukes job to wrangle him back into bed

— luke bought his son a backpack leash so he doesn’t go running off when something else catches his attention (it’s a monkey one too)

— always has time for his son though so he’ll literally drop ANYTHING just for him

— is the one to put him to bed & read him a bedtime story. you always catch luke fast asleep on your sons tiny bed, his hand unconsciously rubbing the boys small back

— luke may not be the first person to wake up in the morning but he’s usually the one to keep your son busy while the reader makes breakfast or takes care of herself in the morning

— sometimes he just tossles him & carries him like a bag (yknow those tiktoks where they carry their kids by their jackets when they don’t want to walk) & he absolutely loves it. his son giggled so loudly as he just hangs or is getting thrown on the couch pillows

— during the summer, your son tends to burn more than you or luke so luke kind of goes overboard on the sunscreen & makes sure that he has a rash guard on for extra protection. puts a towel over him too on the boat if luke notices that his son is even a little red

— ^ throws his son into the lake all the time. he always asks for it too, practically climbing up luke as he begs for him to throw him into the water. his giggles always bring a smile to both of your faces as he shouts “again! again!”

— luke likes to gather the both of you into his arms & guide you guys into bed for his pregame naps. it’s usually luke, your son, & then you all cuddled together but sometimes it’s luke spooning you while you hold your son. it’s a cute sight

TREVOR ZEGRAS

— off the walls ecstatic to have a son that can match his energy

— this man is so happy to have a mini him it’s crazy

— loves running around with his & creating games for him to play

— def gets him into sports very early on & not just hockey. trev signs him up for soccer, basketball, baseball, golf, etc.

— he also sometimes just carries him or dangle him by his legs to “shake” out all the energy his son has before bedtime. it’s something that his parents used to do to him when he was younger & it seemed to work & help him so now he does it to his son too

— loves to post on his instagram story about their play times & adventures. it’s so sickeningly cute

— if his son were to scream out of nowhere randomly, then so will trevor. if his son just gets up & starts running out of nowhere, trevor will follow right after

OMG luke with a toddler aged daughter and having to get her to stop throwing a tantrum! he would be so sweet with her I feel. luke seems like the dad that would literally sit on the floor next to his screaming kid and just talk calmly to get them to explain their feelings.

omg YES. he would be so sweet with her. i could see his daughter going through a phase where she just says “no” to everything. you’ve tried everything, but she’s so sassy that nothing works. (it’s the hughes in her). so she tells you no when you tell her to clean her toys, maybe you get a little stern with her so she starts throwing a tantrum.

luke would be so gentle with her, sitting down with her and talking to her about her feelings. he’ll just hold her and talk to her in such a gentle tone and it really helps when she’s throwing tantrums.

✎ ABOUT THE EVENT ⇘ : :

➺ the players i am writing for are: jack hughes, nico hischier, quinn hughes, luke hughes, connor bedard, lukas reichel, cole caufield, mat barzal, trevor zegras, jamie drysdale, adam fantilli, luca fantilli, matthew knies, mitch marner, and a lot do others just ask! if a fic pairing is nhl x whatever, than it means everyone included above

➺ i will be doing request for this series! i will start with all of her own songs and as debut and reputation tv, plus any new albums she comes out with, i will add the vault tracks and the album songs. yes, i will be doing other songs she has made/covered (last christmas, christmas tree farm, i don't want to live forever, etc.)

➺ if there are two players for a song it either means that there is a conflict with them or there will be two fics, one for each. for right now there are no plots because I am allowing request for them. some of these fics have the same person/plot as my celly but they will never be the same fic!

➺ right now, a lot of the fics don't have a plot/player, but requesting for this series works like this: request the song you want me to write a fic for, let me know if you want me to change the person i originally had (if any), and who i should make it for, or if i should keep it the same, and then do a plot the revolves around the song. also you can make what ever pairings you want (throuple, platonic, siblings, friends, romance, etc.) (the whole fic doesn't have to be the entire song, it could be based off a specific lyric/lyrics) if i don't approve of the player change i will not change the player but i might use the plot idea with proper premission.

➺ if any writer is open to, i will gladly accept help for this event. taylor as a shit ton of songs and this might take me years to get through, so let me know if you want to write. if the song already has a plot/player, i would prefer you use that but you can change it if you want, just ask me first, please!

➺ each album is associated with a team, yet i did this based on color not by the team itself, so let me know if i should change that and if you have ideas for it

➺ if a fic already as a plot, please do not request for it!

➺ if fic has an asterisk next to it, it means that somebody has requested that specific player with the song so you cannot request it again
