Kissing the Cook
Tumblr media
Request: If I may make a request . . . 17, your bias is Yoo Kihyun (Monsta X)
Prompt:
17) Your friend (who is already dating one of the members) sets you up with your bias.
Pairing: Monsta X Kihyun x Reader
Genre: Fluff
.
"I'm not doing it," Kihyun said finitely, crossing his arms.
"You're definitely doing it," Minhyuk hummed, adjusting his collar in the mirror. He glanced over his shoulder at the ever so slightly younger member and smirked. "Get dressed."
"You can't tell me what to do."
"Can and will," Minhyuk chimed.
Kihyun heaved a deep sigh before pulling himself up from the couch. Nodding to himself in reassurance, he looked to Minhyuk again. "Where are we going?"
"A place," Minhyuk said simply, spinning around. "How do I look?"
"Like a menace to society," Kihyun muttered. "But that's no different from any other day."
"Rude," Minhyuk clucked. Fishing his phone from his slacks, he began to type quickly. "No rush, but we have to leave in like ten minutes."
"Ten minutes?!" Kihyun whined. He looked down to his pajama bottoms and bleach stained shirt. "I need to shower."
"Sounds a lot like a you problem."
"A me problem that is rapidly becoming a you problem!" Kihyun pointed out. Stomping down the hall he cursed quietly to himself while he heard Minhyuk chuckling behind him.
"Nine minutes!"
.
You held fast to your best friend's hand as she navigated you toward an ominous building. "Why have you been so secretive about this whole thing?"
"Me?" Mina squeaked, looking at you with innocent eyes. "Secretive? I don't know the meaning of the word!"
"You are chaos incarnate and your boyfriend is even worse," you grumbled. Choosing to snatch your hand from hers, your eyes began to roam the small information plate noting what businesses operated in the building.
"I take offense to that," she laughed. "Mostly for myself. Minhyuk is admittedly a goblin."
"Yah!" a voice gasped from behind the two of you. "I heard that!"
Spinning around, you were face to face with Mina's partner in crime AND life, Lee Minhyuk. They weren't the sickeningly sweet couple everyone expected them to be, but troublemakers in every sense of the word. They fueled each other's nonsense like no other and frankly it was exhausting even being in both of their presence at once.
"Baby!" Mina grinned, throwing her arms around Minhyuk's neck. She gave him a quick kiss before springing back again.
"Hey," he smiled, eying his girlfriend with every ounce of love in his body. Shaking himself from her spell, he looked toward you and grinned. "Hey, Y/N!"
"Hi, Minnie," you grumbled, rubbing your hand over your opposite arm. Third wheeling again, what a treat.
The sound of someone clearing their throat just behind Minhyuk signaled that you needed to reevaluate your previous thought.
"Sorry!" Minhyuk huffed as he sidestepped. With a smile, he motioned to the person who was standing at least ten feet away from him. "Kihyun is...here!"
Your eyes widened as you assessed the man that had been labelled as part of your group for the evening. The two of you had met informally many times before, but for some reason, the familiarity couldn't halt the butterflies springing to life in your stomach.
While you knew who Kihyun was and even a bit of his personality, you had never hung out with intention. Making eyes at each other across the table at game nights or eagerly eating whatever food he chose to prepare were the height of your interactions.
"Ahhh," you finally managed. "Hi?"
"Hi," Kihyun nodded politely. He glanced from you to Minhyuk and then back again. His eyes set on yours for only a moment, the contact making you instantly shy. Kihyun smirked before looking away, his ears turning a bright red in the process.
"Isn't this great?" Minhyuk nodded. "You're single. Kihyun's desperate. It's perfect."
"Hey!" Kihyun snipped, glaring at his friend. "I'm not desperate."
"He's not very self aware," Minhyuk continued in a hushed voice. "But he is very cute, isn't he?"
This caused Kihyun to roll his eyes. You tried to stifle your giggle as he motioned to the staircase leading inside the building. "Can we please do whatever it is we are here to do?"
"Yes, of course," Minhyuk nodded, pleased with himself. Launching forward, he grabbed Mina's hand in his and started charging up the stairs. Left alone with Kihyun, you gave him an exasperated grin.
Smiling in return, he stepped forward. "Sorry about him."
"Unnecessary," you laughed. "Let's catch up before we're left behind."
"Honestly," Kihyun muttered, looking over his shoulder in both directions. "That might not be the worst idea."
"I'm sorry, what?" you croaked. Sure, you hadn't expected to be dragged on a double date tonight, but you were kind of offended that he wanted to bail.
Laughing, he shook his head. "Who the hell knows what these two signed us up for. I think I have something better in mind."
..
"Can you tie this for me?" Kihyun asked, spinning around so his back faced you.
"Of course," you hummed, taking the strings from his hands. You had never realized how wide his shoulders were until you were up close. Chewing on your lip, you absently tied the apron as you eyed him from behind.
After consulting Google for the better part of your two block jog away from your friends, Kihyun had finally settled on bringing you back to the Monsta X dorm. He could cook you dinner with whatever they had laying around and you would be delivered to Mina as soon as the happy couple arrived back home. It had made all of the sense in the world.
The adrenaline pumping through your veins quickly subdued by the time you were perched on the bar stool in front of him. Now the nerves danced around in your body, trying to keep cool as you watched him cut vegetables.
"Are you sure you don't need help?" you asked, itching for something to do instead of sitting in silence.
"Uuuuh," Kihyun hummed, looking around the kitchen. His gaze finally settled on the task before him and he gave a short nod. "You know what, why don't you cut these?"
"Sure," you squeaked, instantly regretting your request. It wasn't like you were a bad cook, Kihyun was just much more proficient.
Hopping off of the chair and making your way to where he was standing, you were surprised as he took up a spot directly behind you. Lifting a spare apron over your front and dropping it at your neck, you felt his nimble fingers find the ties at your side. Remaining painfully still, you waited as he tied the fabric. Taking a short step back, he pointed around you at the knife you would need.
"Alright, take that one," he said, his voice a breath in your ear. "And we're going to want to cut this as thin as possible."
"Okay," you whispered, picking up the utensil with one hand and a clove of garlic in the other.
"We want it so thin that it'll essentially melt in the pan," he continued.
You nodded. Of course this made all of the sense in the world when it was coming out of Kihyun's lips.
Kihyun lips.
You grimaced as you cut the first slice of garlic much too thick. You needed to stop focusing on the cute boy leaning into you and the task at hand.
Proving to be the most difficult task in the world, your body nearly collapsed as Kihyun stepped closer. His firm chest settled against your back as he reached around you and took the knife from your hand.
"Watch," he said quietly, slicing it perfectly because of course he did. "Just like that."
Good God.
"Just like that," you croaked. You thought about swiveling around to address him, but instantly thought better of it. "Maybe I was more helpful watching you than actually helping."
You could feel his huffed laugh against your neck as he continued to chop. "You're giving up this easily?"
"Well, no," you said, now a bit embarrassed. "I think I may just be getting in the way though."
"Who said that's a bad thing?" he teased, closing what limited distance was between you. You tried not to choke on your own saliva.
"It's crazy, isn't it?" he asked, picking up another clove and beginning his ministrations.
"Wh-What?"
"That we were set up," he chuckled. "By two of the most dysfunctional people I think either of us have ever met."
You giggled as you attempted to remain calm. Where was he going with this?
"What do they know about other's compatibility?" he continued. His chin was basically set on your shoulder. You took a deep breath, lavishing in whatever spicy ginger cologne he was wearing.
"Well," you managed. "They certainly knew that they were-"
"The end of times?" Kihyun finished. "I'm convinced their love is going to bring forth the apocalypse."
"So..." you chuckled, trying to put on a brave face. "What do you think they were expecting to bring forth with our match?"
Kihyun paused. You could almost hear his gears turning as he set down the items in his hands. Leaning slowly back, you instantly regretted that whatever you had said caused him to retreat.
"Something...easy," he said, his voice suddenly gravelly. "Something they knew would work if they nudged us hard enough."
Hardly believing what you were hearing, you carefully spun to look at him. His handsome face was hard to read, but you definitely saw something there. The way his lips parted ever so slightly, the way his eyes searched yours...it was want. Kihyun wanted whatever this was.
"You...you'd think we'd make a good match then?" you squeaked, needing the confirmation.
Kihyun sniffed a short chuckle before reaching up. Grabbing you lightly by the back of the neck, his eyes delved into yours one last time before closing the distance. He kissed you fiercely, knocking you off balance. You were immediately caught and then boxed in against the counter behind you. Reaching to set a palm on the surface around either side of your hips, he licked at your bottom lip before sucking it into his mouth. Biting it softly, you didn't miss how tense he became when you offered up a whimper.
Tangling your hands around his neck and playing with the short hair at the back of his scalp, you were all fire inside. Before his body had even really touched yours, you were a match waiting to be lit. He knew exactly how to fan the flame.
"Idiot, you left your location on," you heard a familiar voice barge through the door.
Kihyun stopped kissing you and cringed. His body remained locked around yours, no intention of letting you go this soon.
"I can't believe you guys left! We were going to do a rage room and-"
Both Minhyuk and Mina stopped short as they walked into the kitchen. With matching expressions of shock, an awkward silence settled over the room.
Kihyun grimaced before burying his face into your neck and letting out a loud groan.
"We...uh," Mina began, her eyes darting back and forth. "We're just going to go anywhere but here."
"Yep," Minhyuk nodded, his eyes wide. "We'll let you kids get back to uh...whatever that was."
Turning on his heel, Minhyuk tugged Mina with him. "Don't do anything we wouldn't do!"
"The bar is set extremely low then," Kihyun muttered before lifting his face up again. "You laughed as you reached up and rubbed your thumb over his jaw. "Now, where were we?"

Tumblr media
You groaned as the car continued to drive over the road to the cabin. You had been hoping to get some sleep on the way in, but no such luck. The location was deep in the woods with a single, unpaved road as the sole access. With every divot and rock that the vehicle bounced over, your prospects of sleep slipped even further through your fingers.
“How much longer until we’re there?” you asked of Shownu, who was driving.
“GPS says 20 more minutes?”
“So close yet so far,” you groaned, shifting to look out the window.
As grumpy as you were about the drive, you had to admit it was beautiful out here. Dense woods surrounded a beautiful lake and the cabin was supposed to be right on the water. Jooheon had roped you into this trip at the last minute, after Naomi had had to cancel and you were glad for the opportunity but also not super looking forward to having to meet new people. You probably knew 4 people in total that were on the group trip. Jooheon and Shownu, of course, and Hyungwon and Dasom were among your close friends. Outside of that Jooheon had mentioned a few names that you recognized, but only barely.
“There it is, I can see it!” Jooheon started shouting excitedly as Shownu took a sudden right turn.
“Whoa,” you gaped appreciatively. You hadn’t really been sure what to expect from a cabin in the woods, but it far exceeded your imagination. It was constructed of a beautiful, dark wood with fine detailing and a large, brass weathervane and matching hardware. “It’s gorgeous.”
“I’m so glad we have rich friends,” Jooheon chuckled, hopping out of the passenger seat after Shownu had parked.
“Ahhhhh!” Shownu let out a loud yell in the general direction of the lake as he stretched.
“It smells great!” you smiled as you stretched your legs as well.
“I thought I heard Shownu,” Dasom waved delightedly as she ran down the stairs. “You made it!” she wrapped you into a hug before moving to greet the other boys. “Honey, you look big! Have you been working out?”
“Sure have,” Jooheon nodded proudly, flexing comically as Hyungwon finally emerged from the cabin as well.
“You made it,” he waved tiredly, looking as if he’d just woken from a nap.
“Is everyone else here already?” Jooheon asked as he walked towards the back of the car to unload bags.
“Yep, ”
“Ah, ok ok,” Jooheon nodded, loading Shownu up with the bulk of the luggage.
You grabbed your own backpack and followed the group in through the front door. Dasom was moving to show you to your room when an impossibly smiley face popped into the hallway.
“Ah! You must be YN! So glad to meet you, drop your things off, we have a packed agenda!”
“A-ah, this is Kihyun,” Dasom filled in the gaps, seeing your blank face.
“Oh yes, sorry! I’m Kihyun, welcome to my family’s lake house!”
“Ah,” you nodded slowly, understanding this enthusiastic host personality a little better.
“So yes, please set your things down and we’ll get moving soon!”
“Can I…not?” you asked. “I’d rather just get some sleep here, if that’s okay?”
“Oh, um…” Kihyun’s face fell at your unexpected admission. “I guess that’s fine?”
“Awesome,” you gave him a half-hearted thumbs up before poking Dasom to show you your room.
Kihyun’s lips pursed as he watched you walk away. It had been a long time since someone had turned down one of his vacation agendas. People always had a good time!
“I’m so tired!” you exhaled as you flopped down onto the bed.
“You sure you’ll be okay alone here?” Dasom chuckled as you rolled yourself up in blankets. “We might be gone for a while, Kihyun usually packs a pretty full day of activities.”
“Even better,” you rolled your eyes, “I’m a rest and relaxation type of person, so probably best to keep me away from him.”
“Oh, uh, haha, sure!” Dasom suddenly grew awkward.
“What?” you narrowed your eyes at her.
“Nothing!” she laughed, but you knew your friend better than that.
“Tell me or I’ll show Hyungwon the pictures of when you cut your own bangs in middle school,” you threatened. Not that it would achieve anything, Hyungwon liked Dasom simply too much.
“We actually thought you’d like Kihyun,” she finally admitted.
“That guy?” your eyes swiveled back and forth, trying to make the math math.
“You two are actually kind of similar, but whatever!” she laughed, “We can keep you apart, if that’s what you want.”
You nodded shortly, waving her off to Kihyun’s activities. As you drifted into sleep, you found yourself thinking about this Kihyun. What kind of sick freak would torture everyone by not alloting the first night of a vacation to unwind and decompress?
“YN-ah?” Dasom knocked quietly on your door as she peeked in. You seemed to still be deep asleep, but she didn’t want you to miss dinner. “YN?” she called again, slightly loud and was relieved when you started to stir.
“Yea?” you turned to her, haired slightly fucked up on one side and eyes still puffy.
“We’re gonna eat dinner. I just wanted to check in and see if you want to eat now? Or I can set something aside for you.”
“I’ll come now!” you nodded, rubbing your face vigorously to wake up. You raked your fingers through your hair a few times, but it wasn’t like there was anyone to impress anyways. “What are we eating?” you asked through a yawn as you followed Dasom.
“We’re grilling over the fire!”
“Oh great! We’ll have to make sure it’s fully out before we go to bed, though.”
“Yes yes, our fire safety manager,” Dasom rolled her eyes at you.
“Hey, I am not trying to die in a cabin fire this weekend!” you sniffed indignantly. Fire safety was no joke!
“Oh, you’re up! Come sit next to me,” Jooheon gestured at you excitedly. You took the open seat happily. “Did you sleep well?”
“Yes, the bed is very comfortable. Plus I was exhausted.”
“I told you, you need to stop working so hard!”
“It was the end of the quarter, I couldn’t help it,” you shrugged, glancing around to see what was on the menu. You were a little disappointed to see it was almost all fatty cuts of meat. Trying to be subtle, you checked around for perhaps some vegetables or even a stray mushroom, but no such luck.
“Oh great! You’re next to me! I’m excited to get to know you more,” Kihyun’s annoying voice grated on your nerves as he returned to his chair at the fire pit.
“Oh great,” you laughed sarcastically, but Kihyun didn’t seem to catch it.
“Wait, YN, do you know everyone?” he asked suddenly.
“Ah, shit!” Jooheon slapped himself comically. “I forgot to do intros!” he shouted as he stood up. Going around clockwise, he named every person and how he knew them.
“Ah, those that are new to me: nice to meet you all,” you laughed, “Thanks for letting me tag along!”
“The more the merrier!” Minhyuk raised his glass jovially.
“Did you sleep well?” Kihyun asked as he grilled strips of pork belly over the fire.
“Yes. Thanks.”
“Good! You missed out on a fun day, though.”
“Okay,” you shrugged. You knew you were being a bit rude, but you just didn’t have much to say to him.
Kihyun smiled into the fire as he tried to understand why you seemed to dislike him so. As the host, it was his job to make sure you had a good time, but his attempts so far had been rebuffed. No matter, he could press on. As things finished cooking, he doled them out to the hungry group.
“Ah, thanks,” you smiled weakly as Kihyun placed pork belly into your bowl. You nibbled at the meatier bits of it, but ended up tucking the majority of it under your rice.
“Did you not like the food?” Kihyun couldn’t help but ask later in the night after noticing that you’d primarily eaten banchan and rice. He truly was perplexed by you.
“No, no!” you shook your head, surprised at his crestfallen expression. “It’s not your cooking! I just-…I don’t really eat fatty cuts of meat. It’s a texture thing.”
“Oh, I see! I'm so sorry, Jooheon didn’t mention. I would’ve gotten something else for you!”
“It’s fine,” you resisted the urge to roll your eyes. His need to people please irritated you for some reason. “You don’t really have to do this ‘host’ thing for me. I’m just here. I’ll be fine.”
Kihyun blinked at you. His confusion about you now had a streak of irritation running through it. Why would you not want him to be nice to you?
“Kihyun, what’s on the docket for tomorrow?” Hyungwon asked. His arm was slung around Dasom’s shoulders, which made you smile uncontrollably widely.
“Let’s meet downstairs at eight for coffee and breakfast. Morning walk around the lake, then we can make lunch and decide on what to do in the afternoon/evening.”
“Eight…AM?!” you clarified with a concerned look on your face. “Is there a reason we can’t walk around the lake later in the day?”
“The bugs get pretty nasty as it warms up,” Kihyun shrugged simply.
“Ah,” you nodded, of course they did.
“That works for me,” Shownu shrugged, and the rest of the group agreed. Hyungwon didn’t even protest, which surprised you.
“Sounds perfect,” you gave Kihyun a big thumbs up, which earned you a chuckle and an eye roll.
“I’m about ready to turn in, what should we do for clean up?” Jooheon stood from his seat.
“If you can take all of the dishes in, I can take care of the rest.”
“I’ll put the fire out!” you volunteered, jumping out of your chair.
Kihyun looked at you in surprise. This was the most enthusiastic he’d seen you so far, and it was about putting out the fire?
“Fire safety is important,” you clarified, seeing his odd look.
“No, I agree,” he nodded prudently, “I just- nevermind.”
You shrugged and turned to put out the fire. With a poker, you pushed apart the already waning coals. The flames dimmed to a soft glow.
“Is there water I can use to put this out?”
“Yes, but you’d have to carry it down from the cabin.”
“Ah, okay. I’ll just wait for it to burn out,” you shrugged. The fire pit was a medium distance from the cabin and you didn’t really feel like carrying buckets of water to and from.
Kihyun nodded, busying himself with other cleanup tasks. When he was satisfied with the state of things, he turned his head towards you. Your expression was soft in the dying glow of the fire pit’s light. At least softer than any you had graced him with. Kihyun couldn’t help but feel frustrated for a moment. Even though he knew he didn’t have to be and you had even given him permission not to be so worried about playing host, he couldn’t seem to let it go. He was so used to being the entertainer and it irritated him that you weren’t responding to him positively. He felt a strong desire to break through your shell.
“You don’t have to wait for me,” your voice broke through his thoughts after feeling his gaze on you.
“Sure,” Kihyun shrugged, moving to take the seat next to you, “But I’m going to anyway.”
“You’re dead set on annoying me, aren’t you?” you scoffed, moving one seat to the right to reestablish the space between you two.
“Seems so,” Kihyun smirked.
“How do you know Jooheon anyways?” you found yourself curious.
“We went to high school together.”
You nodded. That was simple enough. You poked the last few embers again, willing them to go out quickly as you observed Kihyun in their last wisps of light. Like all of Jooheon’s friends, he was handsome, but there was something about Kihyun’s handsome that almost made you mad. His jawline was too sharp, his nose too perfect, and his smile too beaming. You didn’t trust anyone who looked like that. And then he wanted you to like him, too? No such luck. You were being unreasonable, of course, but you could just say you had ‘incompatible personalities’ and call it a day.
“Are you satisfied that the fire is out?” Kihyun’s voice punctured the darkness. You had been so busy being frustrated about his perfect face that you’d forgotten the task at hand.
“I think so,” you nodded, making a show of poking the ashes a few more times before standing.
“Here, take my hand. There’s a few roots that you might trip over on the way back.”
“I’ll be okay, I’ll just walk behind you,” you shook your head, grabbing onto the back of his windbreaker gingerly.
“Suit yourself,” he shrugged, leading the way back to the cabin. Even in his sleep, he could probably make this walk back without stumbling, but he had been right about the roots. You had managed to make it about two thirds of the way before your toe caught a gnarled limb and you fell face first into Kihyun’s back.
A small ‘oop’ was all he heard before he felt himself being bowled forward. He managed to catch himself with his arms, but you landed fully on his back, forcing him the rest of the way down to the ground.
“I told you!” he found himself chiding you. He wasn’t really mad, but he was startled by your warmth suddenly pressed flush against his back and his pent up irritation with you from earlier snuck through in his tone.
“Sorry!” you shouted, floundering slightly as you tried to get yourself off of his back. Your palms first contacted his shoulders and the warm firmness startled you. Trying again, you placed your hands on the ground between his ribcage and biceps and pressed up. Your knees slotted in between his and you managed to get upright without falling back onto him.
“Okay, I’m up,” you dusted yourself off as you stood. You reached down, extending a hand to him without thought to pull him up.
“None of this would’ve happened if you would’ve just taken my hand earlier when I offered it.”
“Sir, yes, sir!” you saluted him mockingly. If someone had asked, you would have had no earthly explanation for why you’d decided to say that, but you found that you really enjoyed seeing Kihyun riled up.
Kihyun cocked his head slowly at you as you made the rest of the way back to the cabin without him. His tongue poked in his cheek as he tried to keep his cool. You had no idea how much you were testing him.
“Good morning, sunshine,” Jooheon teased as you shuffled into the kitchen. In a court of law, they’d really have a field day determining whether you were legally awake or not.
“Coffee?” a cheery voice offered. You turned to see Kihyun smiling brightly, a mug outstretched towards you.
“Thank you,” you regarded him suspiciously. You didn’t trust people who were bright and cheery in the morning, but it wasn’t enough to keep you from caffeine.
Kihyun raised an eyebrow as he turned back to his own mug. Accepting the coffee was at least some sort of progress, right?
“Honey,” you meandered towards Jooheon, leaning into him tiredly. “Is this morning walk going to be worth it?”
“Yes, so drink your coffee and wake up!” he insisted.
You narrowed your eyes at your friend before taking a sip. Wait. Your head swiveled to Kihyun before swiveling back. This was an incredible cup of coffee! Increasingly suspicious.
“You’re really not a morning person, huh?” Minhyuk teased as he walked towards Jooheon.
“Not even on my best day,” you shook your head sadly. “Worst part is I’m not even a night owl. I’m just tired all the time.”
Minhyuk laughed at your forlorn expression. You finished your coffee as the group slowly cycled in and out of their bedrooms, getting changed for the day and ready to go. Before long, everyone was booted, suited, and walking out the door.
“So YN, what is it that you do for work?” Minhyuk asked, having decided to get to know you today.
“Ah, I work in finance for an apparel company! How about yourself?”
“Oh interesting! Any specific type of apparel?”
“No, we kind of make everything,” you laughed.
“I see! I’m an art preparator at a gallery.”
“Okay! Now that’s interesting!” your eyes widened. “Did you study to go into that?”
Minhyuk nodded, eager to tell you all about his career path. In his excitement, he looped his arm into yours as you walked, attracting a curious glare from behind.
Kihyun couldn’t help but feel irritated. For all your standoffishness with him, you seemed to be interested in Minhyuk just fine. Initially, Kihyun had posited that you were introverted or shy with new people, but this piece of evidence poked a good sized hole in that theory.
“You okay?” Hyungwon nudged him gently, seeing the deep folds between his eyebrows.
“Oh, yeah!” Kihyun shook his head, trying to empty it of thoughts.
“It’s a nice day out,” the taller man remarked.
“Very,” Kihyun agreed. Try as he might, he couldn’t keep his eyes from admiring your silhouette from the rear. How annoying.
Hyungwon smirked, unnoticed by his friend. When Dasom had said you two were similar, she had been right. Unfortunately, stubbornness was one of those shared traits.
“What’s the plan for the afternoon?”
“I was planning to make a grocery run into town. People can join if they want, otherwise they can relax here.”
“Didn’t you just pick up groceries on the way in?”
“Yes, but it turns out I’m missing a few things,” Kihyun shrugged.
“Okay, well, I’m not going.”
“Yeah, I wasn’t counting on you,” Kihyun rolled his eyes at his friend.
“Kihyun’s back!” Jooheon shouted excitedly as you lounged in a hammock. As you read your book, you could hear the crush of tires over gravel.
“Do you need help?” Shownu asked.
“Yes, but there’s not much, so you’ll be enough,” Kihyun waved off the other helpful faces that had turned towards him.
You shrugged, that worked for you just fine. You had found this hammock in one of the closets and after the unexpected difficulty of finding two appropriately distanced trees, you weren’t sure you would get out until the trip was over. You had grabbed a blanket, tucked in with your current romance novel, and the slow burn was burning, so you were cozy as could be. You were in the middle of kicking your feet and squealing over the protagonists when Jooheon rudely interrupted you for dinner.
“Are you reading one of those horny books again?” he asked, trying to take a peek at the words on the page.
“No! It’s  just a romance!” you tugged your book away from him indignantly. “They’re in love!”
“Yeah, yeah,” he laughed at you, pulling at the hammock, “Come on it’s time to eat!”
“Oh, really? It’s that late already?”
“Yeah, but you were too wrapped up in your porn to notice!”
“It’s not porn!” you yelled indignantly, threatening to thump him over the head with your book.
“What’s not porn?” Dasom asked curiously as you neared the table.
“The book she’s reading.”
“It’s not-! All of you shut up,” you shook your finger sternly at the table, drawing a few laughs.
“We’re all adults here,” Minhyuk laughed before leaning towards you conspiratorially, “So what kind of porn is it?”
“Jesus Christ,” you cursed. Jooheon’s friends were just as bad as he was. “I’ll be the first to admit that, yes, I do read spicy books, but this one isn’t! They’re in love but they just don’t know it yet,” you sighed dreamily.
“Boring!” Minhyuk clicked his tongue before moving into a different subject.
Kihyun watched the exchange with interest. He was surprised at the ease with which you admitted to reading erotica. He was still irked at the rapport that you had so quickly established with Minhyuk. But most concerningly of all, he was in disbelief at the way his breath had caught in his throat seeing you smile, starry eyed, thinking about your book. He needed to get a grip.
As Minhyuk steered the conversation elsewhere, you took a look at the dinner offerings on the table. You had expected much of the same as last time, but were surprised to see triangle kimbap and kimchi jjigae set out.
“Oo!” your eyes lit up with delight at the sight of some of your favorite foods. You waited just enough time to be deemed polite before digging into one of the kimbap. “Oh!” you gasped in delight upon realizing that it was stuffed with pepper tuna. This was definitely in your top five favorite foods.
“Isn’t it good?” Dasom smiled at you. “Kihyun’s a pretty good cook.”
“Did you make all of this?” you turned to Kihyun, slightly alarmed. “Nobody helped?”
“You all seemed busy or were relaxing. Plus nothing was too difficult,” he shrugged.
“But you cooked two nights in a row. You should at least enlist some of us to help,” you grumbled, now irritated at how good the food tasted.
“Most of these friends are a disaster in the kitchen,” Kihyun chuckled, “Easier just to do it myself.”
“Ah,” you opened and shut your mouth. You had almost volunteered to help him cook tomorrow, but thought better of it. God forbid you ended up stabbing him in frustration.
Dasom held in a giggle as she watched you munching on your kimbap. Your face was screwed up in such intense concentration that you might as well have been deriving calculus equations. You had always been so stubborn.
For the second night in a row, you found yourself on fire pit duty. Standing authoritatively with your poking stick, you made yourself useful by stoking the flames and feeding the fire until people were ready to turn in. For the second night in a row, you found yourself stranded in dreadfully romantic lighting with Kihyun, who gestured vaguely about possible bears and refused to leave you alone.
“Dinner was good tonight,” you couldn’t help but fill in the painfully awkward silence.
“Oh! Good,” he was surprised, lips curling up at you with pleasure.
“Spicy tuna kimbap was my favorite snack as a kid,” you recalled with a smile as you broke up a few medium sized coals.
“Mm, Dasom told me,” Kihyun answered through a yawn.
“Sorry?” you blinked, eyes flashing to him in confusion.
“You hardly ate anything yesterday, so I asked her for some ideas on what you would eat. I know everyone else’s preferences pretty well, already,” he shrugged as if it wasn’t a big deal.
“I-,” your thoughts stuttered for a moment. “I told you don’t have to try so hard to play host to me!”
“I’m so fascinated as to why you are so resistant to me just being…nice to you.”
“It’s not that, I just…” you trailed off. To be honest, you couldn’t explain the irritation that Kihyun seemed to inspire in you. You thought so hard, trying to scrounge up reasons, that you didn’t notice your poking stick falling into a pile of ashes until it was too late. “Oh shit!” you jumped, surprised into action. Hovering your hand over the fire, you discerned that it was cool enough for you to retrieve, but not without covering your hands in ash. “Oh god, what a mess,” you chided yourself, trying to see how dirty your hands had gotten in the dim lighting.
“YN!” Kihyun all but shouted as you leaned almost too far forward and your hair threatened to dip into the glowing embers. Without a second thought, he scooped your hair up into one hand and pulled you back with the other.
“Oh shit, thanks,” you looked up at him in surprise. “Ca-can you tie my hair up? I have a hair tie, but my hands are covered in ash,” you offered your wrist to him.
Swallowing, Kihyun nodded, letting your hair fall back down as he fiddled with the hair tie. Grabbing you by the wrist, he turned your palm to face the ground as he pulled the hair tie off with his other hand. Your heart started pounding loudly and unfortunately it did not get any slower or quieter as he moved to pull your hair back up. Gently, his fingers raked along your scalp, gathering your locks into a relatively neat bundle. You managed to reign in the soft moan that wanted to leave your lips, but you couldn’t do anything about the flush that spread across your cheeks and neck.
“Your hair is soft,” he remarked as he pulled everything into a ponytail and you shivered slightly. Out of disgust for his wildly unnecessary statement, of course, and not because his breath had whispered against the nape of your neck.
“Okay, thanks!” you cleared your throat aggressively as you jumped away from him. What the hell was going on? Without a second thought for fire safety, you rushed back into the cabin, needing to distance yourself from this insufferable man immediately.
Kihyun couldn’t help the grin that spread across his face as he finished putting out the fire. He really couldn’t explain why he felt so affected by you, but he was relieved to see that he didn’t seem to be alone in it. Even if you insisted on fighting tooth and nail against it, you couldn’t take back the reaction you’d just had because he’d been there to see it himself.
“Raining again?” you looked sadly at the soaking hammock through the window. This was the second day in a row!
“Yeah, according to the forecast it doesn’t seem like it’ll let up all day,” Dasom shrugged.
You briefly toyed with the idea of a walk in the rain. You had packed a rain jacket and your boots were water resistant. You had managed to avoid Kihyun successfully yesterday, but you weren’t confident that you could work that magic two days in a row. You read a few more pages as you let the idea marinate.
“I’m going out for a walk,” you stood up suddenly after two more pages, announcing to no one in particular.
“In the rain?” Hyungwon seemed concerned.
“I like the rain!” you insisted, pulling your rain jacket and boots on hurriedly before rushing out the door.
You exhaled with relief as you stepped into the rain. You’d been honest when you’d told Hyungwon that you liked it. The way the air smelled and the feeling of raindrops hitting your hood was reassuring. In the rain there was no Kihyun and no hair tie, so you could finally think straight. Pursing your lips, you decided the trail around the lake could use another lap.
“How long has YN been out?” Dasom asked Hyungwon, slightly concerned.
“Maybe forty minutes or an hour?” he wondered, trying to remember what time it had been when you had rushed out so unceremoniously.
“An hour? That seems like a long time, doesn’t it? What if something happened!”
“What’s going on?” Kihyun picked up on Dasom's slightly panicked tone.
“YN left to walk in the rain, possibly up to an hour ago. I’m just wondering if I should be concerned.”
“She went out in this rain?” Kihyun found himself worried. Normally he would be concerned about wild animals, but they would be largely deterred by the rain. No, today he was more worried about lightning posing a safety hazard.
“Do you think we need to go look for her?” Dasom asked, waiting for some sort of cue from Kihyun on whether she should panic.
“No, I don’t think it’s anything to be too worried about. I might just go take a look for myself,” Kihyun decided. He had just pulled on a waterproof jacket when the front door opened.
“Dasom, I need help!” you laughed uncontrollably as you poked your head in.
“Are you okay?” she rushed towards you hurriedly.
“Yes, I’m fine, I’m just all muddy,” you laughed, gesturing to yourself. You were, indeed, covered in mud. During the last quarter of your walk around the trail, you had taken quite a slip in a small dip in the trail. “Will you grab me a towel and a change of clothes? Don’t want to track all of this into the house,” you explained as you peeled off your rain jacket.
“You can just come in,” Kihyun suggested as he handed you a towel. “We can clean up the mud.”
“No, I’m truly covered, I’ll change out here,” you insisted, peeling off your wet shirt before accepting the towel to dry off your face. You were so singularly focused on getting dry that you did not register how exposed you had become in front of Kihyun.
“Here’s a shirt and shorts!” Dasom appeared, pushing Kihyun away as she handed you the dry clothes.
“Thank you!” you smiled, pulling the shirt over your head. It took some finagling to change into the shorts, but before long you were acceptably clean and dry. You bundled up your wet clothes to take to the laundry and gave it one last shake before entering the cabin.
“You look like a wet dog,” Shownu remarked. If it had been anyone else, you would’ve assumed the statement was meant to offend but it was Shownu.
“Thanks,” you rolled your eyes at him as you walked across the open area.
“Wet dog my ass,” Kihyun grumbled under his breath. He had seen entirely too much of you while you were busy peeling off your wet clothes and that had been a grave misstep.
Kihyun exhaled sharply as he laid in bed. There was something wrong with him. He had seen plenty of people more naked than you, so this really shouldn’t be bothering him! Unfortunately for him, he now knew exactly how you were shaped and that in turn meant he could imagine what you might look like over him, under him, and try as he might, he could not get these imaginations out of his head.
Grumbling, he flipped back onto his back, kicking the sheets off. It was too hot. It was pouring cool rain outside, but somehow it was way too hot in this room.
Kihyun squeezed his eyes shut. He was really trying not to give into his baser urges, but the erection pressing at the front of his boxers seemed to demand otherwise. He exhaled deeply, pushing whatever guilt or other hangups he had out of his head as he reached down, cupping himself through the thin fabric. Even this slight self stimulation was enough to provide some relief and his head lolled back as he palmed himself, hips pressing up for more pressure.
“Fuck,” he panted, his other hand dancing across his chest and over his collarbones, his mind drawing up images of the way your lips might nibble across his skin and the way they would most assuredly curl up at the corners when you heard his desperate sounds.
Kihyun growled roughly, having had enough of this self inflicted torture. He pushed his boxers down his hips and kicked them off. He grasped himself fully, using his leaking precum to lubricate himself as he thrust desperately up into his fist. Groaning, he fully leaned into the fantasy of you over him, meeting his thrusts. He fabricated the way your brows would pinch together as you held onto him for support. The way your lips would form a sweet ‘o’ shape as you gasped and clutched at him desperately. There was nothing he wanted more in this moment than to make you cum, hard, for him. He was well past a lost cause at this point.
“Shit!” Kihyun cursed as his balls tightened, signaling a quickly pending release. His abs tensed before he emptied himself onto them. He swallowed hard. He really hoped the rain would let up soon so you all could have another meal outside. Fire pit duty seemed to be one of the only times that you would tolerate being alone with him.
Your eyes widened as you flipped to the next page of your book. Perhaps you had been wrong…this book was, in fact, getting spicy. You squirmed and your eyes flitted to your suitcase briefly before they continued down the page.
“Yeah! Yeah,” you sighed after trying to talk yourself out of it. You placed your book facedown on the bed and hopped down.
You commended your own foresight as you pulled your vibrator necklace out of a small pocket of your suitcase. You tossed the chain to the side before settling back into bed and picking up where you’d left off. The book was shortly abandoned as your hands and mind took over.
Flipping onto your back, the fingertips of your left hand trailed, featherlight, just above the waistband of your sleeping shorts. Goosebumps broke out across your skin and you cupped your breast with your right hand, squeezing firmly. A desperate little moan punctured the silence as you sank into the mattress, eyelids pressing shut.
Your mind wandered back to the book. The male protagonist had just been wedging his leg between the female lead’s thighs, hand at the base of her throat, pressing her firmly into the mattress. You sighed, ah, to be either of them. Your left hand slid down to tease gently at your inner thighs as your right hand searched out the vibrator in your sheets. Flipping it on, you teased yourself, very briefly, by trailing it along your sternum and downwards.
“Oh,” you shuddered as you finally brought it to your clit. Rubbing insistently through the fabric of your shorts, your head fell back, eyes fluttering shut as you ground your hips up against it.
You let out a confused gasp as Kihyun’s eyes, lips, and hands flashed through your foggy mind. Your eyebrows furrowed slightly, but you were not quite present enough of mind to stop. If anything, your hips sought out the vibrator even more and your mind betrayed you as you fully imagined Kihyun snapping his hips into you. The way he’d smirk at the sounds that you made for him and the way you’d clutch at him, needing more and more.
You let out a moan that was somehow both reluctant and desperate as you came intensely to the thought of him. It wasn’t until the post-nut clarity had settled in that you had the decency to be embarrassed. What the hell had just happened?
“Ah, I’m so glad the rain finally let up! I missed eating outside!” you bounced on the balls of your feet happily.
Kihyun couldn’t help the smile that spread across his face as he watched you setting up the fire. Obviously, he didn’t think that you put the same amount of meaning on your firepit interactions as he did, but he had accepted that he had lost at least part of his mind over you.
You were trying so hard not to look at Kihyun between stacking logs. Your confusion over his appearance in your self care activities last night had evolved into a knob of guilt and you knew you would not be able to look him in the eye without telling on yourself. Instead, you overly immersed yourself in firepit duty.
“Did you sleep well?” Dasom asked you kindly, not knowing that your sleep last night was a very touchy subject.
“S-super normal and good sleep,” you gave her a thumbs up with an awkward smile. Luckily for you, you were a bit of a strange person to begin with, so Dasom didn’t actually think too much of this.
Kihyun’s eyes narrowed at you. Was he truly delusional now or did he actually see a slight brush creeping up your neck?
“What about you, Kihyun?” Hyungwon echoed his girlfriend’s question. “Sleep well?”
“Good and normal,” he couldn’t help but use your own words to tease you. He commended himself for not copying your thumbs up even though he desperately wanted to.
You scowled, warmth creeping even further up your neck.
“Do you need some wood?” Minhyuk asked, eyeing the fire.
“Excuse me?!” you balked at his phrasing.
“Hah! Haha, oh god, I’m sorry! I just…I didn’t think that through,” he laughed as his auditory processing caught up to his mouth.
“When are folks planning on heading out tomorrow?” Jooheon asked of the group, changing the subject.
You didn’t really listen as folks rattled off their expected departure times. One more night. One more night here with Kihyun was all you had to get through and then you’d never see him again. You could do this.
Kihyun watched as you poked the fire, clearly lost in your own thoughts. Jooheon’s comment was a sobering reminder that, indeed, you only had one more night together. One last opportunity to either act on this desire that now sat heavy in his gut or to just let things go and allow this opportunity to slip through his fingers.
“You’re gonna put the fire out again?” Jooheon pouted as he stood to go to bed. You nodded at him, giggling at his typical antics. “Okay, well don’t forget we need to leave tomorrow by 11am at the latest. If you don’t make it, I’m leaving you here with Kihyun.”
“Don’t threaten me with a good time,” Kihyun’s voice cut through the cool night’s air.
“I’d walk into the lake and never come back out,” you glared at Jooheon.
“Alright, good night you wonderful delight,” he rolled his eyes at you before walking inside.
“So did you have an alright time on this trip?” Kihyun asked after a solid chunk of silence watching you from across the fire. He was leaned back in his chair, finishing off his beer.
“Why do you care so much whether I enjoy myself?”
“Is it so impossible to accept that your pleasure is important to me?”
Your eyes widened a fraction of a hair at his phrasing. You were fabricating things, right? You were just on edge because of last night. Kihyun became inordinately pleased as he watched your expression. He had been right, you were blushing just a little.
“You don’t have to babysit me again. At this point, I can make it back to the cabin by myself. No tripping, I promise.”
Kihyun stood, placing one hand into his pocket as the other grabbed his empty beer bottle.
“If you really want me to go, I will leave,” he spoke, his voice tinged with something different and new.
You met his gaze as he looked down at you. The light of the fire may have been waning, but you could see desire there, clear as day. It was so clear that you had to look away for fear of acting on it. Your heartbeat grew louder and faster as you listened to him step towards you until he was standing directly in front of you. A finger snuck under your chin, forcing you to meet his eyes.
“Tell me you want me to go inside, and I will.” His final offer. You swallowed.
“No,” you breathed, eyes glued to his. His expression softened with relief before he pulled you up to your feet. A soft exhale punched through the night air before his lips met yours.
Kihyun kissed you in a way that was almost laughably in character. He was firm, insistent, and thorough. He gripped your jaw securely and poured into you in a way that you were simply unaccustomed to.
“The fire,” you objected, pressing against his firm chest.
“Fuck the fire,” Kihyun groaned, pulling you back towards him.

“Can you believe this mystery gifter? Leaving flowers without a hint of a name!” she exclaimed, her voice saturated with both confusion and a curious mixture of emotions that Kihyun couldn’t quite decipher yet.
She twirled the delicately tied flower bouquet in her hands, her gaze lost in the colorful array of blossoms. The perplexity in her eyes reflected her bewilderment at the anonymous sender.
Her curious query was met with an unexpected response - Kihyun, grinning wide, a glint of mischief dancing in his eyes. The sudden change in his demeanor was so stark that she was taken aback. She was just about to chide him for what she saw as mockery when a hearty laugh slipped out from him. It echoed through the room, a contagious sound that inevitably brought a warm blush to her cheeks.
“You know who the sender is, don’t you, Kihyun?” she asked, unable to hide her eagerness to unlock the puzzle of the mystery admirer. The continued laughter from Kihyun only fueled her suspicion and growing curiosity. The more she sat there, soaking in his responses, the more she grew slightly infuriated. “Kihyun! This isn’t a laughing matter! This is my love life, possibly the love of my life, a chance at a not-so-lonely Christmas and possibly a kiss going into the New Year!”
His laughter, ringing clear and high, only seemed to amplify with her words as his wide-grinning eyes danced with merriment. He shifted his gaze to the stunning bouquet as if teasing her even more by deliberately not disclosing his knowledge.
“Kihyun!” she huffed, “Stop laughing! This might be serious – someone could want to spend Christmas with me! Or even celebrate New Year’s with, you know... a kiss!”
Her insistent tone cut through his laughter, leaving a warm smile lingering. Leaning back, he asked playfully, “Oh? And who might this mysterious prince be? I wonder...”
She glared at him, her eyes narrowing in annoyance yet laced with playful humor. “Evidently, the person is too shy to admit their feelings. But it’s the first day of December!” she exclaimed, frowning at the baffling anonymity yet holding a spark of excitement at her newfound secret admirer. “The first day of December is not the day to mess with my feelings. So, Kihyun, if you know who this rat is, you better cough it up now. I don’t think this is even funny.”
Kihyun only chuckled in response, his eyes glittering with mischief yet housing a comforting familiarity. While he maintained his relentless teasing, he couldn’t help but treasure their banter, the anticipation that something more significant awaited her, and the promising merry vibe that December shared with its first day.
“If I knew, I would tell you.” Kihyun finally spoke, his smile warm and genuine. “Believe me. It’s like something from one of those cheesy books you insist on reading whenever you come to watch us practice. It’s both cute and cringe at the same time.”
She scoffed at his remark with a playful roll of her eyes, “Hey, those books are masterpieces, and you should read one someday, Kihyun!” Their friendly, exciting chatter buzzed in the air like sparks of energy.
As the first rays of daylight pierced through the thin veil of curtain in her room, she awoke to the melody of chirping birds. Groaning slightly, she rolled out of the cozy cocoon of her bed. Her mornings were always the same, yet they held a unique form of solace - the therapeutic routine she followed religiously.
Sleep clouded her eyes, and she padded to the bathroom, refreshing herself as a new day beckoned her forth. Post her warm, invigorating shower, she spotted her reflection in the fogged-up mirror, wiping it down to reveal her refreshed face, a stark contrast to the grumpy morning persona that resisted the call of daybreak.
Next in her routine came dressing up, standing in front of her wardrobe, rummaging through her clothes until she found the perfect outfit that matched her mood that day. Once decided, she moved on to makeup, subtle and minimal, just right for her day at work.
Her aromatic cup of coffee, the magic elixir that solidified the day had indeed started, awaited her in the kitchen. She sipped it leisurely, enjoying the quiet moments before the rush of work swooped in. Her breakfast was a simple toast and jam, consumed as she scrolled through her phone, catching glimpses of news, laughing at memes, and responding to needy work emails.
Just when her routine had neared its end, and she was about to slip into her shoes for work, something caught her eye - a box placed neatly on her doorstep, interrupting her typical day with its sheer outlandish presence.
The box was decorated beautifully, emblazoned with intricate patterns and a silver ribbon, concealing the mystery akin to its predecessor. The sender’s anonymity remained the same – no note, just the enticing charm of an enigma. Her curiosity shot up, her day’s mundane schedule forgotten as she reached for her phone, dialing Kihyun’s number over the thrill boiling within her.
“Kihyun,” her voice shook with combined excitement and curiosity. “There’s another gift...”
His voice carried a merry ring, the laugh in his tone evidently audible even over the call as he responded, “Good morning to you too, Y/N! I’m fantastic. I’m busy as a bee with all the practice, just in case you were wondering. My schedule is looking crazy packed today, but I love answering the phone for my darling best friend, who I’m sure is on her way to another fantastic day of work.”
Deflecting her frantic state with a cheerful demeanor, he continued, “Anyways, back to your mystery, another gift, huh?” His tone was tinged with audible amusement, stirring her curiosity and anxiety further. “Did you open it to see?”
“Kihyun, I’m serious!” she voiced, the frustration seeping into her words. Yet, she couldn’t ignore the fluttering excitement in her heart. The teasing, the laughter, and the banter all felt so incredibly amusing and jarring at the same time, given the strange situation evolving.
“And I am seriously amused,” came Kihyun’s instant reply, his laughter echoing down the line, making it impossible for her to stay frustrated. Despite the situation, she found a playful smile tugging at her lips. Regardless of the mystery and the confusion, having Kihyun by her side, even if it was over a call, lessened the stress and amplified the fun. His palpable amusement and constant, reassuring presence kept her grounded while she navigated through this strange turn of events.
“Did you open it? I stopped practicing. You can’t make me wait in suspense about this gift. What does the box look like? Is it tacky? I bet it’s tacky. The flowers yesterday seemed a bit tacky, in my honest opinion. Flowers would not be my go-to if you’re trying to swoop a girl off her feet mysteriously and romantically. But then again, I haven’t had a relationship in years, so I can’t go and say what this guy is doing is stupid. I just enjoy throwing my opinion out.”
Giggling at his relentless comments, she retorted, “Alright, Mr. I-know-everything-about-romance, let’s see what this ‘tacky’ gift is.” Kihyun’s amusement was evident in the hoots of laughter that filled her ears as she cautiously untied the silver ribbon, the box’s mystery ready to unfurl.
“It’s not tacky,” she hummed half to herself, opening the box lid to reveal an assortment of delicate pastries. Each one was artfully crafted, a testament to its baker’s skill, and made her mouth water just by looking at it. She took a moment to appreciate the arrangement’s intricacy; the evident attention to detail made the gift feel intimate—like her secret admirer truly knew her penchant for sweet treats.
“Pastries,” she breathed, a grin spreading across her face. “Baked goods, Kihyun, my favorite!” She could almost see Kihyun’s raised eyebrows and hear his chuckle as he mulled over this new information.
“Pastries, huh?” His voice was contemplative, mixed with a teasing lilt. “Whoever this mystery person is, they certainly have a knack for gift-giving — I still maintain, though, it’s a tad bit cliché. But at least you get to enjoy breakfast, if anything.” His laughter was like a warm blanket around her, bringing comfort and amusement amidst the uncertainty and excitement of her strange situation.
“I can’t believe this mystery person got me my favorite pastries. I haven’t had these in years…” She uttered softly, looking at each pastry carefully.
“Well, I guess your secret admirer is doing their homework thoroughly,” Kihyun teased, his voice tender and full of amusement. “Enjoy them, Y/N, and remember to go to work. You can’t let your mystery person derail your routine completely.”
“Are you kicking me off the phone, Kihyun?” Even her feigned offense couldn’t hide the smile in her voice.
“Oh, absolutely,” he shot back with a chuckle. “Enjoy the rest of your morning, Y/N. We’ll continue this intriguing narrative later.”
She hung up with a final laugh and a promise to update him on any new developments. The rest of her day passed in anticipation of the next day’s mystery and the comfort of Kihyun’s constant, understanding presence.
When morning arrived again, a third gift was waiting on her doorstep — a handwritten letter. As she unfolded the delicate paper, her heart pounded in her chest, her fingers delicately tracing the words etched beautifully. The letter was penned with such fondness that she could feel the warmth radiating.
“Kihyun,” she began the call, her voice shaking with the thrill of the mystery. “The gift today... it’s a letter.”
“Indeed?” came Kihyun’s interested interruption; his voice held a new level of curiosity, and her heart fluttered, the mystery drawing them closer with its magnetic pull.
“A letter?” There was a pause on the line before Kihyun’s voice returned, “That’s... different. And you said it was handwritten?”
“Yes, it’s beautifully done,” she admitted, her gaze dropping back to the carefully scripted words. She could sense Kihyun’s excitement matching her own and found it comforting; it was an assembling puzzle with him guiding her through the pieces.
“Well, isn’t this all very cryptic,” he mused, the interest palpable in his voice. “Listen, we’re both off today. Do you want me to come over to see the note? We can unravel this mystery together.”
Without thinking twice, she responded positively, relieved to not face this enigma alone. They hung up, and she eagerly anticipated Kihyun’s arrival.
As Kihyun walked into her living room later that day, the curiosity in his eyes mirrored her own. It was a strange adventure, but having him in it made everything less daunting. Together, they read through the note, their curiosity piqued as they drew another day closer to unraveling the identity of her secret admirer.
She observed his face as he read the note for the first time, then a second, then finally a third. His face scrunched up in mocking disgust.
“I feel like this guy is reading the same books as you.” He finally spoke up, handing her the note. “This is more cringe than flowers, Y/N.”
“Oh, come on, Kihyun,” she protested, slightly miffed. “The note is sweet. It’s thoughtful. It’s... romantic.” She clutched the letter closer, defending her secret admirer despite the fact she herself had been initially wary.
“Romantic?” Kihyun’s laughter was booming, causing her to flinch a bit. “Y/N, this mystery guy is pretending to be a prince from a bargain romance novel, and you find it endearing?”
Despite Kihyun’s jest, a blush crept onto her cheeks. “Maybe I do,” she huffed defiantly, “Isn’t it exciting to have someone who goes out of their way to make you feel special?”
Kihyun was silent for a moment, considering. Then, he nodded slightly, his tone becoming severe, “I suppose you’re right. But remember, Y/N, you don’t need a mystery person to make you feel special; you’re already amazing as you are.”
As the day continued, they spent hours intertwining in playful banter and laughter, their bond strengthening with every teasing remark and shared jest. Kihyun would rhetorically ask from time to time, “Did your secret admirer teach you that?” making her roll her eyes but unable to keep her giggles from spilling out. His constant light-hearted comments on her secret admirer reinforced their comfort in each other’s company, fusing an already strong friendship with newfound threads of intrigue and camaraderie.
They lazily flipped through the channels of her television, their minds busied more with their ongoing chatter than the colorful flickers on the screen. From her cringe-worthy taste in music to her questionable decisions on her favorite TV characters, Kihyun took every chance to add another jab at her taste, which could also be the mystery person’s. The laughter that echoed in her living room seemed endless, their enjoying time hand-in-hand, filling the hours with pure joy.
A trip to the local café was made in the afternoon, a familiar setting that heightened their playful arguments. He stole sips from her coffee, claiming, “Just checking if your secret admirer had spiked it.” Somehow, the jests made the mystery even more thrilling, a private joke they shared, the punchline growing funnier with each repetition.
As the light faded, they sprawled lazily on the living room floor, a blanket of exhaustion gently descending from the day’s hilarity. Still, even as they shared a peaceful moment of quiet tiredness, Kihyun murmured, “Sure, your secret admirer hasn’t planned any midnight surprises?”
At her mock glare and the familiar blush coloring her face, Kihyun laughed again, the sound warming her heart. As his laughter settled and silence enveloped them, a comfortable hush started in their friendship - a rare moment of quiet excitement for another day of mystery and shared banter.
“Want to stay the night? Defend you from this man - or woman - who may have your address and could come and sneak up on you. I can defend you.” With a teasing waggle of his eyebrows, he offered, “You might need my skills to protect you from your overzealous secret admirer. Who knows what they’re capable of.”
Rolling her eyes, but with a smile tugging at her lips, she agreed, “Sure, Kihyun. Stay and protect me from evildoers.”
The evening had gradually slowed to a relaxed tempo, their enthusiastic chatter segueing into a more subdued and introspective discussion. They had decided to call it a day, Kihyun desperately trying to stifle his yawning into his shirt sleeve, a hint of remorse in his eyes at the prospect of ending their fun-filled day.
With the decision made, she offered him the guest room, ensuring he was comfortable with the arrangements. He had looked satisfied enough, thanking her with that charming charisma that was undeniably Kihyun. Her heart fluttered at the sight, the intimacy of their small domestic arrangement tugging at her heartstrings.
To her surprise, he hesitated at the threshold of her room before finally deciding to air his concern. “Is it...alright if I take the blanket from here?” he asked, gesturing vaguely at her bedroom. Expecting some dramatic reason, she merely found him sheepishly admitting that he preferred her quilt’s scent.
Amused but acquiescent, she simply shrugged and handed it to him. “Make yourself at home, Kihyun.” His gratitude was evident in his widening smile, a warmth blooming in her chest at the sight.
Minutes later, dawned in their sleepwear, they found themselves in her soft-lit living room, perchance to bid each other goodnight. She could see the hints of sleepiness in his eyes, mirroring her own fatigue. Amidst the faint sounds of a city preparing to sleep and the soft gossamer thread of moonlight filtering through the window, they shared a quiet, heartfelt goodnight.
Watching Kihyun retreat to the guest room, her heart filled with gratitude for their shared experience, the silhouettes of camaraderie and playful banter etched in her mind that night. As she closed her eyes, she couldn’t help but envy the following day, yearning for another day of delight and discovery with Kihyun.
The following day, she woke to the smell of breakfast cooking and the sounds of Kihyun humming off-key in her kitchen. He had one of her kitchen aprons on - a comically delicate floral pattern that looked absurd against his typical attire. She couldn’t tear her gaze away, chuckling at the sight.
“Good morning, Princess,” he greeted her without turning around from the stove. “Your knight has prepared you a feast.”
“Such chivalry,” she waltzed over, reaching for a coffee mug sitting on the counter beside him. “How could my secret admirer ever compete?”
As if on cue, there on her kitchen table, another gift was placed casually next to a vase of flowers she hadn’t noticed before. It was a small, wrapped box, a light shimmer from the morning sunshine reflected off the silver paper. She didn’t need to check the doorstep to know where it had come from.
“Kihyun!” she exclaimed, shocked yet excited for the mystery present, “You brought the package inside?”
He shrugged nonchalantly, flipping a pancake stylishly in her frying pan. “Oh, forgot about that. Found it this morning and thought you might want to open it with your breakfast. Defending you even from early morning mysterious gifts!” he added with a wink.
Laughing at his antics but intrigued by the unopened package, she moved towards the table, wondering and excited for the new day filling the room.
Biting her lip in anticipation, she gingerly picked up the wrapped package, glancing at Kihyun for just an ounce of seriousness. However, the playful smirk on his face revealed that Kihyun was enjoying this immensely, his face glowing with a cheeky delight that threatened to break her serious demeanor.
“Don’t look at me like that, Kihyun,” she chided lightly, trying to suppress her own grin. “This could be something important.”
He simply shrugged again, his dimples flashing as he met her scolding with a retort, “And I don’t doubt that. But remember, it’s also part of the fun.” The infectious excitement she found in his eyes was impossible to ignore.
Turning her attention back to the package, she studied it, her heart swelling with suspense and curiosity. The wrapping was elegant and understated, hinting at the same thoughtfulness she had come to associate with her secret admirer. The kind of gesture made her heart flutter even as she felt Kihyun’s teasing gaze upon her.
Rolling her eyes at Kihyun but with a quick, exciting heartbeat, she finally started unwrapping the package. Her fingers danced along the edge of the paper, breaking the seal and revealing it layer by layer. As she did so, Kihyun leaned in, his interest piqued despite his earlier jests. His playful comments about the admirer were momentarily forgotten, replaced by a shared curiosity about the mystery box’s contents.
The unwrapping was finally complete, revealing a smaller box as exquisite as the wrapping. She held it in her hands for a moment, exchanging an excited glance with Kihyun before she lifted the lid. Whatever light-hearted tease he had prepared died on his lips as they stared at what was inside.
“Would you look at that!” Kihyun broke the silence first, a laugh hiding behind his words. “Your secret admirer sure knows how to keep things interesting! Seems like the rest of the day will be just as mysterious as the start.”
“Shut up.” She huffed, trying to stifle the bubbling laughter threatening to betray her severe facade, her face flushing a deep red at Kihyun’s endless jests.
Ignoring his teasing chuckle, she carefully lifted the box’s contents, revealing a delicate silver pendant. The cool metal glinted in the morning light as she held it up, a sense of awe washing over her. It was a beautifully crafted piece, a star-shaped jewel embedded in it, shimmering with an ethereal glow.
“Wow,” she whispered, running her fingers along the intricate carvings of the pendant. The attention to detail was mesmerizing, the smooth metal whispering of dedicated craftsmanship and a profound sense of affection. She was spellbound, captivated by the gentle shimmer; a breath of awe escaped her lips.
“Huh, so your secret admirer has good taste,” Kihyun managed to say, trying to keep his voice steady but failing to hide the note of surprise in it. He moved closer to her, his eyes studying the pendant with a newfound seriousness. A silence descended upon them, interrupted only by the soft clinking of the pendant against the table.
Her gaze flickered to Kihyun briefly, seeing his typically playful eyes darken with curiosity. He was silent for a moment, and then, with a smirk curling his lips, he met her gaze. “Alright, as much as I joke about it, your admirer sure knows how to make an impression.”
She rolled her eyes playfully, yet the blush on her cheeks deepened. Despite his jokes, the sincerity of Kihyun’s words warmed her from within.
“How are you not jealous right now? Mr. “I haven’t had a relationship in years.”” Y/N jabbed, turning to him with a smirk.
Raising an eyebrow, Kihyun leaned backward, placing his hands behind his head. “Who said I’m not?” he drawled, the corner of his mouth tugging into a crooked smile. “However, watching your high school drama unfold is much more entertaining.”
Snickering at his retort, she couldn’t help but feel touched by his nonchalant attitude. Kihyun, despite his constant teasing and feigned indifference, was remarkably supportive and accommodating. She knew beneath his casual exterior he genuinely cared for her.
“You’re just mad nobody’s sending you mysterious gifts,” she teased, holding up the pendant for emphasis. A glint of amusement flashed in his eyes, and he shrugged, feigning a hurt expression. “Maybe I have my secret admirers, but they understand I choose pancakes over pendants any day.”
“God, you’re impossible, Kihyun.” She laughed, shaking her head at his casual dismissal.
His laughter joined hers, filling the room with a sense of lightness. “Just remember, Y/N,” he said, his eyes crinkling at the corners from his broad grin, “All the secret admirer drama aside, you’re amazing just as you are. You don’t need silver pendants to feel special.”
Touching the pendant gently, she felt a warmth spreading through her. Kihyun’s words may have been framed in jest, but their genuineness was undeniable. He knew her better than anyone else did - her strengths, insecurities, and quirks. And despite everything, he never failed to remind her of her worth.
Ending the exchange with a roll of her eyes and a fond smile, she tucked the pendant back into its box. Kihyun’s teasing may never end, but she most treasured his genuine sentiments. The rest of the morning was spent in enjoyable banter and delicious pancake breakfast, the pendant temporarily forgotten, but the confirmation of her friend’s unwavering support was a gift that kept her smiling throughout the day.
Day 5 dawned brighter than before, her heart fluttering with anticipation and excitement as she found yet another parcel at her doorstep. It was a bit heavier this time, and inside was a beautiful hardcover book - a collection of romantic poems. There was a soft sigh as she flipped through the pages, each adorned with thoughtful verses that warmed her heart and tugged at her romantic daydreams.
She held the book against her chest, a smile gracing her face. Something about the choice of gift felt incredibly intimate, like the secret admirer had heralded a silent understanding of her deepest desires and found a way to address them in such a beautiful manner. She kept it close, unwilling to share this newfound joy, even with Kihyun.
As she was settling on the couch with the book, her cell phone buzzed, and Kihyun’s name flashed on the screen. Lips curving into a smile, she picked up the call, “Miss me already, Kihyun?”
“More than you know,” came the playful response, and then his tone shifted, curious, “So... any more mystery boxes today?”
She hesitated, the book clutched tighter in her grasp. After a split second of indecision, she decided to stay silent about her gift. It wasn’t because she didn’t trust him, but she wanted to enshroud this gift in a veil of secrecy for a little longer, savor the feelings it stirred within her.
“No,” she lied, “no boxes today. Maybe my secret admirer has lost interest.”
“Well, that’s a bummer,” Kihyun responded, a trace of disappointment in his tone. She could almost see his pout on the other end, “I was hooked on that story.”
Both of them knew Kihyun was just playing along, but she didn’t miss the hint of genuine curiosity in his voice. After all, he also became a part of this mystery and was keen to see how it unfolded, just from the sidelines, not wanting to intrude on her growing romantic life.
Promising to keep him updated on the situation, she ended the call. She glanced at the unassuming book on her lap. She traced the engraved title with her fingertips, a part of her touched by the secret admirer’s gesture, another part amused by Kihyun’s growing interest. With that, she curled into the couch a little more and started immersing herself into the world of romantic verse, a secret smile on her face.
As day 6 broke, the early morning light peered through her bedroom window, gently rousing her from sleep. The echo of romantic verses still hummed in the back of her mind, her dreams having been colored by the poetic whispers of love from the book her secret admirer had gifted. As if in a trance, she pulled herself out of the cozy cocoon of her bed, a soft sense of anticipation fluttering in her heart.
Upon opening her front door, the cool morning air greeted her face, bringing the early morning smells of dew-kissed grass and brewing coffee from the café down the street. There it was again, nestled by the doorstep, another box from her secret admirer - a sight very much part of her morning routine now.
The box was a little bigger this time and heavier, too. Lifting it carefully, she shuffled back into her home, leaving behind the still-hushed world outside. She placed it on her dining table and observed it momentarily, her heart pounding against her ribs in anticipation. There was a scandalous thrill in not knowing, in the mystery that was set to
unravel.
Her fingers traced the smooth edges of the box before finally pulling open the ribbon that kept her suspense at bay. As the flap opened, she couldn’t help but gasp. Inside the box lay a stunning bouquet of flowers, their petals a blinding hue of bright yellows and sparkling whites. She recognized them as daffodils, their allure holding an ethereal charm that made her think they were hand-picked from some celestial garden.
An ankle-length mint green dress was carefully folded beneath the flowers, the fabric smooth and soft under her fingers as she pulled it out. The scent of fresh daffodils mixing with the new fabric smell made her feel like a damsel right out of the poems she’d been reading.
Emotions rose in her chest, and she could feel tears prickling her eyes. The gifts were more personal and thoughtful each passing day - as if the mystery person understood her without saying a word.
Her gaze drifted back to the box, a small card tucked at the side catching her attention. Her fingers trembled slightly as she opened it. “I hope these make your day brighter than it already is,” read the note.
Indeed, the daffodils, dress, and note made her day infinitely brighter, and not just because they were beautiful gifts. There was an intimate familiarity in these presents, a secret chord of connection that was subtly woven, linking her with her unknown admirer. The underlying sentiment in the gifts bore undeniable hints of tenderness and care. They clearly meant more than simply objects; they were whispers of understanding, silent acknowledgments of her kind of person and the things she cherished.
Holding the mint green dress against her body, she admired it carefully, its color a tranquil reminiscence of calm spring afternoons. On her, it would softly hug her frame, adding a feminine charm to her persona. It was stunning, oozing with earthy appeal and subtle elegance; it was incredibly her.
Unable to resist the rising need to share her excitement and the mixture of feelings churning, she picked up her phone and dialed Kihyun’s number. The phone barely rang twice before Kihyun’s warm voice filled her ears, “Already missing me, aren’t you?”
His playful banter brought a smile to her face, pushing back the rising tide of emotions she was drowning in a moment ago. “Hold your excitement, Kihyun,” she retorted, the grin on her face matching the cheerful one she could hear in his voice. “I got another present.”
The conversation steered into comfortable chatter for a moment, her heartbeats resonating with Kihyun’s teasing and chuckles that she could hear over the phone. After a few shared anecdotes and many lingering laughs, she decided to share the day’s startling discovery.
“I lied yesterday, Kihyun,” she confessed, clutching the dress closer as if needing its support for the confession. “I received an incredibly thoughtful gift from my secret admirer,” she spilled out, taking a moment to elaborate on the touching gift still melting her heart.
“What did you get, Y/N? You have to tell me right now.” his eagerness made her chuckle.
Silence was on the line, a poignant stillness quickly broken by Kihyun’s excited curiosity.
As she launched into the detailed description of the captivating dress and enchanting daffodils, she could feel Kihyun’s thrill surging across the line, their shared excitement painting another beautiful day for her - a day marked by Kihyun’s laughter, their shared secrets, and a hint of surreal romance. Kihyun might not be her secret admirer, but his charm was integral to her unfolding amour tale. And as she ended the call, a sigh, filled with content for the day.
On day 7 came an uncharacteristic pause in the line of gifts. To say she was surprised was an understatement; she had grown accustomed to starting her day with the ever-familiar rush of anticipation, a thrill that had defined her routine for the past week. As she curiously inspected her doorstep, she found it amiss of any surprises. The absence of a morning gift starkly contrasted the regular rhythm of her past mornings, leading her to an unexpected sense of disappointment, a sadness she couldn’t place.
However, she quickly brushed off the feeling, reminding herself that the mystery had added a delightful tang of suspense that she had grown fond of. Shrugging off her initial gloom, she busied herself preparing for her day out with Kihyun, a small ray of excitement piercing her disappointment.
Their day out was filled with their signature mirthful narratives, each shared moment binding them further. Kihyun’s vibrant spirit and relentless teasing were infectious, easing the morning’s bewilderment out of her system. The twinkle in his eyes and contagious laughter warmed her heart; their laughter bubbles brushed against their hushed conversations, weaving an unseen tapestry of irreplaceable moments.
As they strolled through the park towards their favorite drink stand, the sun beaming down and the world alive under the cool Christmas chill, Kihyun casually asked the question she had been expecting. “So, did you receive anything today?” His voice had a twinge of curiosity, but it was masked by an intentional casualness. “You never told me if so.”
Taken aback for a moment, she hesitated before answering. “No, not today,” she admitted, adding a chuckle. “My secret admirer decided to give me a day off.” Kihyun mostly hid his surprise with a nod, but she could see a hint of confusion flashed across his face.
As the day wore on, they found comfort in their shared laughter and tales, the missing piece of her morning fading to mere whispers. Amid their delightful indulgence, the day marked another chapter, not of mystery and gifts but of the solid friendship they nurtured, each shared glance, every teasing jab, weaving threads of moments that grew more precious with each passing hour. The day might not have started as she had thought, but in its own ways, it was a gift she was grateful for.
As the sun dipped to bid the day goodbye, Kihyun’s mischievous grin and comforting camaraderie lingered in her thoughts, creating a buffer to the emptiness that had nudged her morning. They ended the day with a cheerfully disputed game of foosball at their local gaming bar, where she beat him miserably, pride glittering in her eyes and a smug smirk gracing her lips.
As Kihyun battled through his dramatic heartbreak of defeat, they shared one more laughter for the day before parting ways, his reassuring handshake and teasing glimmer playing seamlessly into the end of a less-than-ordinary day.
Stepping towards her building, the familiar path gleaming under the moonlight, an air of expectancy wafted through her senses. She shook her head in an attempt to diffuse the growing anticipation, chiding at her own hope. Yet, as she approached her doorstep, she paused. A small, elegantly wrapped gift was nestled cozily at her doorstep as if waiting for her arrival.
A hushed gasp slipped from her lips, a wave of disbelief washing over her. Kneeling down beside it, her fingers delicately traced the outline of the gift, the rough texture of the wrap sending chills up her spine. Her day suddenly felt whole again, as if her morning’s lacuna had been filled, the clock of cryptic gifts resuming its course.
With a gentle tug, she opened the package, revealing a beautiful leather-bound journal. Emanating a warm, alluring scent typical of vintage books, the journal was unique, its soft ruggedness sparking an immediate intimacy in her heart. Engraved on its cover was a single word, “Dream,” an echo that resonated with her aspirations and many untold stories.
Her fingers lightly traced the embossed letters, warmth spreading across her fingertips. If the daffodils symbolized respect and the dress spoke volumes about the admirer’s understanding of her style, the blank journal was a testament to her love for words and the potential power of her dreams.
A hushed giggle equally mixed with surprise and delight broke the silent night as she clutched the journal closer. As the evening kept its quiet vigil, the surprising twist pierced through her earlier disappointment, wrapping the day with a perfect closure. The journal was more than a gift. It was the commencement of a new chapter, a silent invitation to pen her own truth, to weave a narrative only she could envision. The secret admirer saga was far from over, but one thing was clear. Every piece of the puzzle was clearly picked with the utmost consideration, each revealing more about the secret admirer’s deep understanding of her.
The intrigue was tantalizing as she picked the journal up, caressing its soft leather cover. She perused the pages to appreciate the craftsmanship and the untold stories this journal could hold. However, as she opened the crisp first page, she paused, her breath hitching in surprise.
There was a note elegantly scribed at the top of the page. Her heart thumped loudly in her chest. A spark of anticipation ignited as she chewed her lower lip and squinted at the precise handwriting. The words were written in a chic font, the curves and flavor of the handwriting revealing a unique character, an uncanny reflection of the mysterious person behind these well-thought gifts.
Her eyes scanned the words, silently mouthing them as she read, “To the keeper of dreams and the weaver of words, may this journal hold your untold stories, unspoken thoughts, and unending dreams. Coin a reality only you can envision; let your dreams manifest through the mystique of your words. Yours, your secret admirer.”
Her heart missed a beat, her eyes wide in disbelieving wonder. The words, so profound, so promising, entwined her in a profound moment of understanding. It was more than a mere gift. It was a mirror to her spirit, a hat tip to her penchant for scribbling her thoughts, dreams, and reality.
Vaguely, she was aware of her hands shaking, the journal slightly trembling. The note was an intimate message in a bottle sent across the sea to just her. It screamed understanding, resonance, and a deep sense of familiarity. The more she read it, the louder her heartbeat echoed in her ears, and the deeper she fell into the whirlpool of feelings and the enigma her admirer had put forth.
Hugging the journal close to her chest, she sat on her doorstep, the moonlight gently caressing her form, adding an ethereal glow to the affectionate picture she embodied. The gentle breeze ruffled her hair, seemingly celebrating her contentment and newfound connection with her secret admirer.
Lingering momentarily, she relished the tranquility that wrapped her in its warm hold. Each word of the note was a serenade to her, a quiet melody only she could hear, and it played ceaselessly, tickling her heartstrings, promising a symphony of narratives only she could chronicle.
Thus began a ritual like no other, a daily spectacle of surprise gifts arranged on her doorstep. Every morning was christened with the thrill of mystery, the pleasure of discovering something new and deeply personal. Her secret admirer’s knowledge of her likes and dislikes extended beyond mere happenstance, suggesting a close observer of her life. Each gift, be it a collection of her favorite abstract art, film memorabilia from her all-time classic movie, or a vintage vinyl of her favorite band, seemed meticulously picked, enveloping her in a blanket of obscure familiarity and secret admiration.
As she counted down the days till Christmas, the space under her tree increasingly began to mirror a treasure box. Each neatly wrapped gift, carefully opened, held a piece of her heart, enveloping her in waves of emotion she hadn’t experienced in a long time. Intriguingly, representative tokens of her passion for travel appeared: a world map with scratch-off destinations, foreign language books for her to decipher, and even a mini globe that lit up, each embedded in the roots of serendipity and future adventures.
The assortment was nothing short of an outburst of joy. This emotional whiplash triggered giggles and silent tears of happiness alike. It wasn’t just about receiving gifts; it was the idea that somebody cared enough to know her, to understand her, and to make her feel acknowledged and unique, which amplified the magic of the scenario.
Her moments with Kihyun were filled with shared laughter and teasing jokes about her secret admirer. With his constant banter, the playful guessing of who it could be, and the wagers they made on every gift, they built precious memories that Santa himself would’ve been proud of.
As the December chill crept in more and more, so did the longing to meet her secret admirer, the intrigue giving way to an acute urge of curiosity. Each passing day rendered her heart more restless, the countdown to Christmas carrying a weight of anticipation.
One chilly morning, just days before Christmas, she found a tiny box on her doorstep. On opening it, her breath hitched. Inside lay a delicate snowflake pendant – an echo of the season, a testament to the ephemeral and individual - as unique and irreplaceable as herself, a symbol and a promise, silently noting her significance, her uniqueness.
As Christmas neared, the excitement cushioned with silence, the answering smile on her face becoming a permanent fixture as her secret admirer remained veiled in alluring mystery.
Christmas Eve brought an unexpected twist to the tale, with Kihyun inviting her to a friendly gathering with his group mates. The night bloomed in a beautiful meld of laughter and goodwill, the air thick with stories, playful jests, and shared camaraderie. Kihyun, by her side, only heightened the cheer with his endearing laughter that bounced rhythmically off their childish banter about Santa. The soft glow of the Christmas lights dancing in his eyes etched another beautiful memory in her heart.
The festive allure carried onto the Christmas day, surrounded by familiar faces and warmed by familial love. She engaged in a homely celebration, the scent of freshly baked cookies wafting through the air, mingling with the nostalgic aroma of the pine tree. Preserved traditions, laughter-filled stories, and the shared mirth of togetherness engulfed her, the day promising a lifetime of nostalgia. Her family’s hearts buzzing with joy rendered a new glow to Christmas – all she had ever wanted, all she had ever loved.
As the day ended, she returned home, her heart full yet sluggish from the day’s joyous exhaustion. Drawing closer to her apartment building, she caught sight of a familiar figure perched on the steps. Kihyun, his eyes shining brighter than the nearby streetlamp, was waiting for her.
In his hands was a familiar small gift. The packaging was the same, the bow perfectly tied - but something felt different. His usual playful demeanor was replaced with earnest anticipation, the silence of the night punctuated only by the rushing thoughts filling her head.
The realization wrought a gasp from her, her breath hitching and her heartbeat sounding louder than the quiet of the night. Could it be? Could the secret admirer, the person distributing these coded pieces of her soul, have been Kihyun all along? Her mind raced as she approached him, the finality of her walk daunting against the
Christmas lights strung around her front door.
There, wrapped snugly in winter’s silence, Kihyun extended the gift towards her - his eyes searching her own, all jest gone - replaced with a raw vulnerability she found endearing. The hours that melted into another Christmas night were yet to unravel surprises of their own, the veil of the secret admirer lifting slowly under the Christmas moonlight.

The hours that melted into another Christmas night were yet to unravel surprises of their own, the veil of the secret admirer lifting slowly under the Christmas moonlight.
Overwhelmed by curiosity and unexpected understanding, she took the gift from him, her fingers brushing lightly against his. The familiarity of it brought her an unusual wave of comfort and anticipation, a drum roll echoing in her chest as she unwrapped the gift.
As the wrapping gracefully unfolded under her careful hands, a thing of beauty was slowly but indeed revealed. Tucked snugly within was a beautifully crafted, handwritten letter. The elegant script, its curves and flourishes were familiar, the words an echo of previous ones she’d come to treasure - its profound intimacy only deepening with each thoughtful expression.
Below the letter remained more surprises, artifacts of a heartfelt saga silently written through her secret admirer’s thoughtful gifts - treasures as intimate and sincere as the words etched on the letter above.
A sigh escaped her lips as she carefully revealed a book she’d dreamt of owning, its elusive nature only fueling her desire. It was a rare edition she’d mentioned in passing to Kihyun amidst a lazy afternoon chat not so long ago. It was more than just a book; it was a testament to her dreams and aspirations, an encapsulation of a part of her life she held dear.
Alongside the book, nestled in a jeweled box, was an exquisite pendant she had always admired from afar. Its price had deterred her from purchasing it, but its beauty had constantly stirred a longing within her. Now, to see the same pendant lying before her, glittering in the soft glow of the Christmas lights, it was much more than just a piece of jewelry - it was the acknowledgment of her desires, the embodiment of dreams she’d whispered into the winds, now gently resting in her hands.
Kihyun watched, his eyes holding the reflections of the sparkling pendant and the joy in her eyes - a moment printed onto the canvas of a Christmas night. In that instance, under the garland of lights and warmth, the veil of the secret admirer finally melted away, the visage of Kihyun emerging through -- a friend, a confidante, a shared laughter, and now, her poignant admirer. A Christmas as magical as they come, the story of their shared past and a beautifully mysterious present was embraced that night – a testament to the Christmas spirit that genuinely lived in their hearts.
“It was you the whole time?” Her question echoed in the silence, a simple confirmation of the emotions swelling within her, the reality beginning to settle.
“Yes,” Kihyun replied, his voice a soft whisper that seemed to blend with the falling snow. His eyes held a shining sincerity, a deep emotion she had seldom seen. They simply gazed at each other for a moment, the confession hanging between them in the cool night air.
“But how? We were almost always together,” she breathed out, confusion furrowing her brows. Memories of all the shared moments replayed in her mind - the days bursting with laughter, the lingering glances, the constant companionship, and the masterfully orchestrated surprises.
A chuckle escaped Kihyun’s lips, momentarily disrupting the tranquil moment. “Ah, you see, quite clever actually... I had a little help.” His eyes twinkled in delight, a mischievous glint creeping back into them, making her heart flutter.
“Minhyuk and Jooheon were my partners in crime,” he admitted, a proud grin plastering his face. “They were the ones who delivered the gifts to your doorstep when we were together.”
The revelation sent a warm thrill coursing through her. The thought of their friends playing along, helping Kihyun warm her days with unexpected gifts, brought a smile to her lips. Including her beloved friends in this heartfelt expression added an even more intimate charm to the entire experience unfolding before her.
“I just... I wanted to find the most special gifts for you,” Kihyun continued, a sense of earnest passion coloring his tone. “It wasn’t easy; it took time, scanning multiple stores, browsing countless online sites, and it took me months to find the book you’ve been longing for and the pendant you always admired.”
His thoughtfulness and efforts in this grand gesture unveiled a meaningful dimension of Kihyun’s affection. Each detail – the elusive book, the beautiful pendant – was a token of the patience and dedication he had devoted to making her feel special in every possible way.
“And the letters?” she asked, her mind now wandering to the exquisite performance of pen on paper she’d come to adore.
“I spent hours practicing to write perfectly in cursive,” he confessed. An image flitted across her mind – Kihyun immersed in his diligent labor of love, a pen in his hands, a warm lamp illuminating his focused features.
“There were lots of wasted papers and tossed-out pens, but the expressions on your face whenever you’d receive them made it all worth it,” he finished. A soft, sheepish smile adorned his lips as he briefly looked away, a faint blush creeping up his neck - an endearing sight that heightened her respect and affection for her dear friend.
“And how did you keep such a good poker face every time I got excited about receiving a new gift?” she asked, still processing the extent of his efforts.
Kihyun rubbed the back of his neck, his gaze directed to the distance as he reminisced, “To say it was easy would be a lie. Sometimes, I just wanted to let it out, to show you how thrilled I was to see you happy. However, I knew I had to hold back. I had to keep the magic alive. I chose to feed off your delight, to live vicariously through your innocent excitement.”
Hearing him confess his struggles, the sheer effort of keeping such a significant secret amid their camaraderie was both heart-aching and heartwarming. Feeling closer to him than ever before, she found comfort in knowing that they could share such profound experiences, unbeknownst to even themselves, moving on an unseen thread of affection and understanding.
“I won’t deny that seeing you coming to me after every gift was an experience in itself,” Kihyun admitted earnestly, reaching out and gently brushing a stray curl away from her face. “It made me ecstatic to see your reactions, to listen to your thoughts... to know you were treasured even as I held back the admirer's identity.”
Her heart seemed to swell with each word. Each revelation added a new layer to this extraordinary tale, embellishing it with a unique blend of friendship, affection, and unspoken love. As a gentle snowfall started to blanket the world around them, the soft glow of the Christmas lights illuminating their faces, she felt a profound warmth radiating from Kihyun’s honest eyes, his enduringly patient love that had orchestrated such a magical mystery. This Christmas, as the story of their shared past came full circle with a festively mysterious present, their hearts resonated with the true spirit of this winter holiday – loving and cherishing each other and the shared tale that wove them intricately together.
In the moment's warmth, Kihyun’s gaze dipped from her eyes to her lips, a silent question lingering in his eyes. As if reading her thoughts, he asked softly, “May I?”
She looked at him, his sincerity shimmering like the snowflakes gently descending around them. A breath hitched in her throat as she gave a shy nod, her heart beating wildly as anticipation gripped her.
Acknowledging her response with a gentle smile, Kihyun closed the gap between them. His lips met hers in a sweet kiss that held all the unspoken emotions they shared – a profound affection subtly blending with newly discovered love. It was a gentle exploration, a testament to their deep bond and cherished companionship, conveyed through a language that words often fail to express.
When they parted, they shared a knowing smile, a silent acknowledgment of the love that had finally found its voice. The night seemed peaceful, the silence only broken by the gentle rustling of the snow-laden branches and their faintly trembling breaths.
“Hold still...” Kihyun murmured, breaking the silence as he gently held the pendant she warmly regarded. The cool metal chain seemed to electrify her senses as she held her breath while he secured it around her neck. His fingers lightly brushed against her skin as he worked the delicate clasp, sending a pleasant shiver down her spine.
The distinct shimmer of the beautifully chosen necklace lay against her slightly flushed skin, adorning her in a way she’d imagined countless times. As his fingertips traced away, lingering for a moment on her nape, a sense of satisfaction mirrored in his eyes.
“There,” Kihyun whispered, a soft smile gracing his lips as he admired his handiwork. The pendant hung delicately, catching the Christmas lights that softly fell on them. The sight seemed to ground their escapade into a sweet reality, a symbol of his affection now proudly displayed.
Her fingers instinctively grazed the pendant, a tangible culmination of Kihyun’s love and efforts. It was more than just an accessory; it was a signifier of an extraordinary love that was patiently built and skillfully veiled under the guise of friendship and a mystery admirer. As she looked into Kihyun’s eyes, the gentle glow reflecting their shared joy, she realized that their journey of love had just begun, beautifully clothed in the magical allure of a festively mysterious Christmas.
As the chilly wind began to pick up, she noticed the slight tremble in Kihyun’s hands, the shivering cold infringing upon their joyous moment. She swiftly reached for his arm, a warm smile gracing her face, “Let’s not turn you into a snowman. It’s warmer inside.”
Kihyun didn’t break any denial at her invitation, readily agreeing with a grateful grin that met his still-flushed cheeks.
Once they stepped over the threshold, the cold was replaced by a cocoon of warmth that enveloped them. The scent of their earlier supper and the distinct fragrance of pine from their decorated Christmas tree welcomed them, creating a nostalgic and homely ambiance that further solidified their irreplaceable connection.
Kihyun seemed attached to her side now, mirroring her movements like a compass aligned to the North. His presence was nearly constant, like a silent guardian angel, or more accurately, a lovable, lost puppy clinging to his newfound home. The tenderness in his following gaze was charmingly precious, making her heart flutter whenever she looked his way.
In return, she catered to his ease and made this night memorable. She initiated the brewing of hot cocoa, their earlier frosty encounter calling for something warm and soothing. Kihyun just watched her, his eyes following her every gesture, every move.
The evening continued in a breezy blur of shared laughter and subtle touches, the simple domesticity marked by their mutual companionship. With Kihyun’s nearness kindling a new kind of comfort, a kind of elation bubbled up within her, turning an ordinary night into a prepossessing memory.
Each jammed radio button, each shared blanket, and each nonchalant brush of their hands further delineated their newly forged connection. Kihyun followed her dutifully, his presence a sweet reminder of their relationship’s incredible turn.
As they eventually settled on the couch, their shoulders brushing against each other, their hands occasionally intertwining, she was thoroughly soaked with unfathomable contentment. Their heartfelt encounter outside was replaced by the humming silence of her warm living room, their companions’ soft twinkling Christmas lights, and the sweet flavor of cocoa lingering between them.
As she leaned her head against his shoulder, Kihyun wrapped an arm around her as an answer. She knew that this was the start of something truly special. Every corner of her house that was earlier adorned with festive décor now held a new significance as if those inanimate objects were quiet spectators of their blooming relationship. The easy silence blanketing them allowed room for reminiscence and reflection, their earlier adventure transmuting ordinary moments into precious memories.
In the comfortable embrace of the couch, as the aroma of hot cocoa and the familiar scent of pine permeated the air, they found contentment within their closeness. The outside world was momentarily forgotten - the frosty chill, the heavy snow, and even time seemed irrelevant in their shared cocoon of companionship. The brushing of their fingers, the slow rhythm of their combined breaths, and the silent beating of their hearts painted a vivid picture of a love story perfectly scripted in an ambiance of festive romance.
Her thoughts ran free, aimless yet strangely centered on the man whose arms encased her. The sense of contentment was almost tangible, filling her heart with a warmth that outshone the cheerful blaze crackling in her fireplace. She found herself unconsciously tracing patterns on the back of his hand with her free hand - circles, lines, forming shapes only they could interpret, each shape carving another subtle memory into their journey of love.
A sudden thought dashed through her mind, breaking her pattern tracing. “How about a warm bath?” she suggested, her voice soft as she lifted her head from the crook of his shoulder, her gaze meeting his. “It’s a good way to wash off the day’s chill.”
His agreement was immediate, a lazy smile spreading at the prospect. A shared bath sounded absurdly intimate but was past labels and societal conventions. This was their relationship, their love blooming in ways they had never anticipated.
Kihyun’s presence followed her into the bathroom, his silhouette reflecting in the mirror as she started filling the tub. The rush of warm water quickly masked in a thick veil of steam, enveloping them in a cozy warmth that seemed to hug their bodies. As she adjusted the bath temperature, the soft splatter of water against the ceramic tiles provided a comforting harmony, blissful in its own simple way.
The shared bath was a testament to their trust in each other - a trust born from the roots of friendship, nurtured by shared interests and laughter and blossomed into the love now silently thriving between them. Bathed in the soft glow of the dimmed lights, the bathwater turning into a cocoon of warmth, their bodies relaxed, drawing comfort from each other’s presence even as the initial tension of intimacy resided in their minds.
She turned to face Kihyun, her fingers gripping the hem of her shirt. His gaze, now less playful and carrying a certain intensity, traced the contours of her figure with admiration, an expression so candid it left her feeling slightly exposed, her cheeks heating up.
However, he seemed to sense her hesitation; his warm hands stilled hers, his eyes flicking to meet hers. “You’re beautiful,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper, his statement laced with an emotion so profound it stirred something deep within her. “Don’t hide yourself from me.”
The depth of his gaze matched the sentiment of his words, serving as a compelling reassurance that washed away her lingering apprehension. Kihyun murmured more compliments, each word articulating his awe and adoration, painting her in shades of appreciation she hadn’t fully realized he had seen her in. She was not just any woman to him - she was infinitely precious, as unique and beautiful as their bond.
Their laughter and teasing banter often overshadowed such profundity in their relationship. Still, in these intimate moments, the strength of their connection was undeniable. Their relationship had blossomed in friendship, nurtured by shared memory, and the bond they had built was indeed love. This love distilled comfort, reliability, and now shared vulnerability into a remarkable blend.
As the last threads of hesitation unraveled, they engaged in the serene journey of shared intimacy - slowly, sensuously undressing, their eyes never straying from one another. Each piece of clothing shed marked a step further into their shared path of trust and intimacy, their hearts hammering a silent rhythm that echoed the depth of their connection. His fingers traced the slight dip of her collarbone, his touch light, almost reverential. Her hands moved to unbutton his shirt, her fingertips brushing against the warmth of his skin, escalating their intimate voyage.
With reassuring whispers of appreciation and shared glances filled with love, they continued their path, honoring the profound depth of their relationship. As they shed the last fragments of clothing and inhibitions, they stepped into their cocoon of warmth, the bathwater welcoming them into a boundaryless world borne of trust, love, and shared understanding. Their bodies intertwined in the steamy bath, her unfounded insecurities washed away by the soothing warmth and his genuinely heartfelt compliments, creating a moment that was gracefully pure and uniquely theirs.
The water embraced them gently, the warm bath scent creating a divine delirium that heightened the moment's intimacy. His hands were everywhere, tracing the silhouette of her body through the clear water, his fingertips creating ripples in the otherwise serene tranquility of the bath.
Kihyun’s hands cupped her face, tilting her chin upwards until her eyes met his. The affectionate look in his eyes mirrored his gentle touch, wrapping her in a cascade of warmth and safety. Her eyes fluttered closed, reveling in his thumb lightly stroking her cheek, the intimacy of the moment creating a memory she’d forever cherish.
Without prompting, his hand moved from her face, tracing a path through the water as he reached for her hair. A soft chuckle rippled from his lips as he secured her damp hair in a high ponytail, ensuring it wouldn’t get wet in the bath. Even amidst this moment of heightened intimacy, his considerate gesture grounded their interaction in a reality seasoned with familiar comfort, a testament to the depth of their connection.
They began conversing - about anything and everything, their voices echoing against the bathroom tiles, intertwining with the soft sound of the water. They spoke about mundane nothings, profound truths, fears and dreams, shared memories, and individual secrets. Their conversation flowed as naturally as the water around them, each word a testament to their bond, each laughter a reaffirmation of their shared joy, hidden whispers in a world of their own making.
Each glance exchanged spoke volumes more than words ever could, their connection seeping through the silence in the spaces between their conversation. Their bodies pressed close, the occasional brush of their hands, the whispering water around their still, entwined forms - it was no longer just a bath; it was an intimate dance between two souls learning to navigate the path of profound love.
With his hands around her, his gaze soft and appreciative, their connection seemed deeper, even more profound within the candlelight glow of the steamy bathroom. He chuckled, murmuring soft compliments that made her blush crimson under the blanket of warm bathwater. Their conversation, laughter, and intimate gestures etched into the silence of the night, this bath was the symbolism of trust, shared vulnerability, and a deepening love - their world within a world.
Time seemed to freeze as Kihyun’s gaze grew more intense, teetering on the precipice of a deeper intimacy. The playful banter still hung in the air, swallowed by the suspense-filled silence. His fingers lazily drew circles on her bare skin, tangible electricity crackling between their close bodies. With his eyes locked onto hers, he murmured, “Can I kiss you?”
His question hung heavy, solidifying their intimate vulnerability. A shiver of anticipation ran down her spine, the heat of the bathwater paling compared to the flame that his words ignited within her. His question, no, his request, was significant – an admission of the desire that had been subtly brewing between them, now finally voiced.
Emboldened, she nodded her approval, anticipating the sweet surrender of their connecting lips. Closing her eyes, she leaned in, but instead of meeting his lips, she found him whispering against her skin, intimate praises that made her heart race.
His lips finally found hers in a slow, intoxicating dance. This soft touch lingered and deepened, intensifying with each passing second. His hands shuffled up to cradle her face, her hands pulling him closer, wrapped around his neck. The kiss, she thought, was pure magic - an ethereal blend of raw passion and tender affection that seemed to set their world on fire.
Their movements grew more assertive, their bodies weaving into each other under the blanket of bathwater. Every touch ignited sparks that blazed under their skin and electrified their senses. Their tangled limbs reflected in the steamy water, the intimate tableau a blend of roiling heat and escalating desire. His grip on her waist tightened, pulling her closer. Kihyun’s hand slipped down to her hip, his thumb tracing circles that caused her to tremble.
Blind to everything but each other, they continued their intoxicating dance. Hands roamed, leaving trails of heat in their wake; words whispered amidst shared breaths wrapped them in an intimate cocoon. The dance of intertwining tongues and roaming hands built-in tempo, creating an intoxicating symphony.
They explored, discovered, lost and found themselves again in the steam-filled bathroom, thrumming with unspoken words and promises. Their gasps for breath and low murmurs filled the silence, a profound love story weaved in hushed whispers and fervent touches.
In the glow of warm candlelight, their reflected silhouettes painted an intimate portrait on the steamy bathroom tiles. Their interlude seemed to transcend the confines of the steam-perfumed room, a realm of whispered intimacy. It accentuated sensations between their closely entwined bodies. The veil of steam provided a fairy-tale haze to their naked emotions, bared in the all-consuming passion that was engulfing them.
With Kihyun’s fingers still dancing along her hip bone, forming words and phrases she could only guess, he pressed gentle kisses to her jawline, earning himself a hushed sigh. His exploration was slow yet purposeful, and she couldn’t help closing her eyes, focusing purely on the sensation of his skin on hers, touched by the warmth of his eager exploration. The magical dance they were engaged in was no longer bound by words but voiced through the nervous thumping of hearts, the soft gasps of contentment serving as a melodious accompaniment to their symphony.
“Kihyun...” Her voice was barely a whisper, pulling him away from his trail of kisses along her jaw, the soulful look in his eyes interweaving with her silent plea. He heard the unspoken desire mirrored in her voice, a spark igniting the depths of his own longing.
Eyes burning bright, edged with a glint of playfulness and cloaked in desire, he asked, “Are you sure?” His voice was raspy, laced with concern and a hint of desire that had her heart fluttering.
“Yes, yes I am,” she managed through bated breath, entrusting him with a level of vulnerability that felt surprisingly liberating. With one last lingering look for confirmation, he took her lips into a sweet kiss, a reassurance and a promise bundled into the intimate connection. His response was a breathless whisper, “I want this too, more than you know.”
With the exchange of those stolen words, the previous rhythm of their dance transformed into a sensual ballet, the steamy water around them serving as the stage for this divine performance, fingertips tracing coy patterns on surfaces that had her arching into him.
Kihyun’s hands roamed down to claim her hips, pulling her closer, skin on the skin where water meets air. Her fingers gripped his shoulders, nails digging into his skin, their bodies moving in unison with the pulsating rhythm of their shared heartbeat. Every breath, every sigh, every shared laugh was a token of their desire, etched into the steamy air of the bathroom that held this moment captive.
The echo of their shared intimacy lingered still. Nodding, she wrapped her arms around Kihyun’s neck for support. The heated pace slowed as they synchronized their rhythm again, each silent understanding reflected in the other’s gaze.
Kihyun’s hands on her hips became her anchor, grounding her as they continued their slow exploration, his touch coaxing her to lose herself in their shared bliss. The feeling was more than just tactile. Her senses were heightened and everything else dimmed, leaving only his touch, his scent, and his breath on her skin. Her fingers traced along his jawline, feeling the grit of stubble and the warmth beneath that demanded her attention.
Unspoken affirmations passed between them through lingering touches and steady gazes. As they shared hushed whispers, her fingers found the back of his neck, pulling him closer. The caress of her fingers against his skin echoed their shared thrumming excitement, arching his back into her touch.
Pulling back slightly, he looked into her eyes, the intensity of his gaze making her breath hitch. His voice was low, matching the rhythm of their swaying bodies. “Is this okay?” he asked. Still, she merely nodded, this non-verbal communication already forming a bond of understanding between them.
The lighthearted banter was no longer light but now laden with the buildup. Each laugh, each sigh, every word, every pause coalesces into an ensemble of amplified sensations. Their conversation had warped, no longer consisting of words but of whispered breaths, muffled laughs, and silences that spoke volumes.
The echo of their shared intimacy hung in the air, a silent testament to their cultivated closeness throughout the day. The steamy atmosphere of the bathroom seemed to magnify the significance of their interactions, acting as a hushed soundtrack that played alongside their rhythm as they continued to discover and appreciate each other in a new light.
Their shared laughter and gentle sighs, their silent language exchanged through subtle touches and lingering looks, evolved, gathering and moving forward into something utterly electrifying. Their communication was no longer verbal. Instead, it was a sensory-led sonata composed of whispered breaths, muffled giggles, comfortable silence, and a charged atmosphere. Each heartbeat and rapid inhale affirmed the shared, tangible intimacy that had blossomed among the day’s occurrences.
The hot, steamy air from the bathroom acted as a magnifying glass, intensifying even the most elemental aspects of their interactions. It brought an acutely amplified awareness, serving as the unsung background melody to their dynamic chorus. It was a silent orchestra musician, never missing a beat, as they explored deeper degrees of symbiosis, illuminating one another under a new light.
“Let’s dry you off,” Kihyun declared gently once they left the essence-filled bathroom, reaching for a plush towel. His voice echoed softly in the hazy atmosphere; the steam warped his words into a comforting, distant hum.
Wrapping the towel around her lovingly, he pulled her towards him. The couple stood intimately close, their figures barely distinguishable in the foggy aura. A heartbeat echoed in the silence. Whether hers or his, neither could tell.
Then, the world seemed to still when he leaned in, his eyes never leaving hers as he sealed their lips into a kiss. It was sweet, lingering - a silent promise, an unspoken connection. He did so gently, cradling her face as if she was the most precious thing he’d ever encountered. The kiss was charged, and she reciprocated passionately, each press of their lips whispering silent stories of shared understanding and adoration.
Dressed in a warm, softened aura of the lingering kiss, they navigated towards her room. Kihyun, ever familiar due to the abundance of his visits, possessed several spare outfits at her place. He dressed with an appealing, homely ease that was welcomingly comforting.
“Let’s get you dressed, okay?” Kihyun asked, his voice dropped to a soft caress as he held out one of her pajamas. Helping her into her clothes, he took on the role of her caregiver easily, demonstrating the depth of his regard for her.
The night’s story was still unfolding, leaving an exciting sense of anticipation and yearning in its wake, the couple elegantly navigating through the tangle of emotions with grace and mutual respect.
With a gentle nod, she held out her arms, allowing Kihyun to assist her into the soft fabric of her pajamas. The room engulfed them in a soothing cascade of comfort, an extension of the overwhelming warmth that had enveloped them throughout the day. In the quiet intimacy of her space, Kihyun’s presence felt incredibly natural, a testament to the compelling bond they had developed.
The process was unhurried and full of subtle, lingering touches that stoked the emotional fire between them. Every pull of fabric or adjustment of a button was a reaffirmation of his growing sense of protective affection towards her. The innocently intimate gesture of helping her dress seemed to thread an unspoken pledge into their connection: a promise of unwavering support and care that transcended before, now, and what may come.
“Done,” he whispered, locking his eyes with hers again. She nodded, a soft, uncharacteristically shy smile blossoming on her face. Their eyes held a conversation of their own - an exchange of gratitude, fondness, and anticipation under a shared understanding.
With this newfound closeness, they navigated towards her bed. The sheets seemed to welcome them, offering comfort after the day’s excitement. As they settled into each other comfortably, the outside world ceased to exist. It was their sanctuary, and they were the rulers.
“Goodnight, Kihyun,” she murmured, parting the silence with her words. Her voice fluttered across the silent room, carrying unspoken sentiments cloaked under it. She entwined her fingers with his, offering the soft pressure of connection as a closing to the day’s events.
“Goodnight,” he echoed back softly, his thumb delicately stroking her hand, resonating a comforting rhythm to lull them into relaxation. His gaze never left hers as if silently assuring her of his constant presence. “And Merry Christmas.”

tw: implied drunk sex and thus no explicit consent. if that bugs you, skip this.
Prompt: “I’m not saying it’s your fault. I’m just saying I’m probably going to blame you for it.”
You looked at Kihyun, mouth dropped open as the brief urge to smother him with one of his fancy pillows washed over you like a clap of thunder. “You’re joking, right?” You gestured at your naked bodies covered by a single white silk sheet. The rest of the bedding was on the floor. “This clearly isn’t my bed.”
He folded his arms behind his head with a thoughtful look. “Yeah, but everyone knows you’re a horny drunk. It’ll be easier to understand how this happened.”
“This” being the ache between your legs and stickiness on your skin. No doubt there’d be marks on your neck and collarbones to match. “Do they have to know? We could just pretend—”
The world tumbled and suddenly you were looking up at Kihyun’s face, mouth set in a frown, with a dark, heated look in his eyes. “Just because we didn’t mean for this to happen doesn’t mean it was never going to.” He spoke firmly as his fingertips traced your jaw to your bottom lip. “They know how bad I have it for you. Just like they know how much you want me. Sure, everything’s a little jumbled up, but we can roll with it…right?” His gaze dropped to your lips as his voice dropped to a murmur. “Baby, please. Don’t take this away from me. Waking up next to you is all I’ve ever wanted since we met.”
The huskiness of his voice flowed through you, warming you from the inside out. If he was offering, you wouldn’t deny the chance. Gently cupping the back of his neck, you pulled him down for a kiss. The first peck was gentle and filled with affection. The ones after it slowly revealed the need that had likely led to you two giving the Uber driver just Kihyun’s address. As he pulled the sheet from in between your bodies and parted your thighs with his hips, you had to agree with him. Being with him like this with that look in his eyes—this was bound to happen, anyway.

Jooheon - Fate
MonstaX Mafia!AU: Their wife running away again
Genre: fluffy angst or angsty fluff, you be the judge
Word count: 1633
Tumblr media
You and Jooheon met when you were still teenagers in the same school. He was part of the bad boys of your year and you were the perfect and kind a student.
One day when the teacher asked for a tutor for Jooheon as some kind of second chance, you were the only one that volentered. Not to the surprise of your teacher or classmates, but definitely to his. He had always been enthralled by you but he didn't know you were just as intrigued by him.
Though your classmates hadn't been surprised by you offering to help him, they were shocked when you two started dating. It was the typical good girl bad boy romance.
It went as far as a long distance relationship when you went to college and he started to work. And after college getting an apartment together to finally getting engaged.
Sadly fate didn't take it further than that.
"When we're you planning on telling me Jooheon!?" you yelled, luggage in hand, standing in front of your now ex-fiancé.
"Tell you what?" you could see clearly that he was trying to keep his voice calm. To think clearly and not let your raised voice get to his head. This only made you more angry.
"Oh, I don't know, maybe the fact that our WEDDING is being paid with f*cking BLOOD MONEY! I can't believe you jooheon!"
His face wasn't as steady anymore, he was clearly frustrated, pained. Yet he still did his best to keep his voice steady and low. "Just baby, drop the bag, we can talk about this."
You didn't drop your bag. You only tightened your grip. Your eyes slowly drifted from fury to regret and sadness. "I don't think we can." was the last thing you said before making your way to your car.
He wanted to stop you. More than anything in the world, he wanted to come after you. But maybe the best thing he could do for you was let you leave. Maybe in another life, maybe one day, he could let himself be happy with you. But he couldn't make you accept what he did, who he was. He couldn't make you love him.
To stop himself from going after you he decided to drown his sorrows instead. Sitting on the living room floor in the apartment you once shared. But no amount of alcohol could wipe the memories off every inch of the place. Even a years after it still reminded him of you. He didn't understand why he couldn't just relieve himself from his misery. He hadn't moved on, he couldn't get himself to move out. Sometimes, like today, "see you later, baby" still quietly rolled off his lips before closing the door on the empty apartment.
"Finally, I've been waiting for 10 minutes" Chankyun muttered when Jooheon got to his car. "Sorry, hadn't noticed that much time had passed." he muttered back. Chankyun rolled his eyes and drove off.
"We can't be late for this. I know it's a party but Shinee will be there and Shownu wants us to get along with them. We can't afford a fued with another gang. Especially of that status." Chankyun usually wasn't the one to lecture in the group but the rest had given him the clear assignment of keeping an eye on Jooheon. They couldn't afford a slip right now and Jooheon had been slipping one too many times lately.
But when they walked in, Chankyun immediately saw 'getting along' wasn't going to be an easy task.
There you stood in the middle of the room talking to none other than Shinee's Minho. Jooheon was just as enamoured by you as the first time he saw you. It didn't matter what Chankyun said, he wasn't listening.
He had to have you back. Or in the least talk to you. His feet seemed to be moving toward you out of his control. That was until he witnessed Minho's lips placed on your forehead. He was boiling inside, but on the outside he was stoic. More stoic than his group members had seen him in a while. Shownu debated going to stop him after hearing from Chankyun what was going on. In the end he decided to see how this was going to play out. Maybe it could be good closure and they could get back to work.
When Minho left your side his place was quick occupied by Jooheon. For a split second you seemed surprised. If Jooheon wasn't taking in every curve of your face, he would have missed it.
"Jooheon." you nodded in his direction.
"You don't seem that surprised to see me." his smile, or smirk even, reminded you of your first meeting as well.
"I figured this would be your scene." you looked around at the men in suits, many with beautiful women on their arms, ignoring the loud music as if it was part of another party.
"Maybe you wanted to see me." he said cockily. You looked at him with raised eyebrow, yet your look soffened when you took in his features. Yes, his smirk said he was confident but his eyes told you another story. You knew those eyes, not from your first meeting, but your last. Those were the eyes of a broken man, a man with regrets, man you wanted to console. You restrained yourself, looking at your feet rather than his eyes.
He had noticed you averting your gaze and knew exactly why. You knew him through and through, even now, but he could read you just as well.
"Do you regret how things ended between us?" he blurted out, though he looked like he knew exactly what he asked. It took you a moment to answer, as if you still needed to build the courage to form the firm "No." that finally left your lips.
"Just grant me a dance then. Prove it, that you have no regrets, no feelings. We can take it fast or slow. Just dance with me tonight and we'll let fate decide." he stretched out his hand to you and you hesitated.
"One dance and you'll let me go after that?" When he promised with a simple nod you took his hand and he led you to where few people were actually dancing. Lucky for you, a slower song was playing. It was almost sensual. Jooheon had agonizing timing.
He wrapped your hands around his neck, almost like he was teaching you how to dance. In that you could actually use the lesson. You had forgotten everything but him in that moment. You fought the urge to pinch your eyes closed and physically shake the thought from your head. You swore to yourself you wouldn't fall for his charm again.
But when his hands met your hips, your body seemed to disagree. From the spot where he touched you, shivers ran up your sides and down your legs. You had the unholy thoughts of good times once spent from entering your mind. How could he still have that effect on you.
"You seem deep in thought, baby." before he knew it, the word had slipped and seeing by your reaction, it had been a mistake.
Your hands shot from his neck back to your sides, taking a step back. His face for the first time that night showed what he was truly feeling. Worry.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean..." he tried to explain himself, but you interrupted him. "Just, let me go." tears brimmed your eyes and you ran off. He couldn't let you go, not like this, not again.
"What do you think you're doing?" an angry Minho was now blocking him from going after you.
"Look, I'm not looking for any trouble. I just need to talk to Y/N. We know each other." he tried to explain himself without causing trouble with who he assumed was your current boyfriend.
"I know who you are." oh shit "you broke her heart, I'm not going to let you do it again."
No matter how much Shownu wanted MonstaX and Shinee to become allies, they stood behind Jooheon as soon as they noticed trouble. "neither will I" Jooheon answered Minho, pushing passed him. Minho meanwhile being stopped by Shownu.
"Let this play out. You knew what you were getting into when you brought her here."
Lucky for Jooheon, you hadn't gone far. You were instead walking in circles around the fountain nearby, staring at your reflection in the water until his joined it. You faced him, not knowing what you wanted to tell him, even when your heart was screaming it.
"I can't let you go." he whispered "if I let you go again, I might not survive it."
You didn't have to say it for him to know you felt the same way.
Why?
Because as soon as he said it your lips connected with his in a hungry kiss. A kiss that told him how deprived you had felt in those few years apart. And he responded with just as much feeling.
When you broke apart it took a moment of staring into eachother's eyes for the both of you to catch your breaths and get back to reality. Jooheon pinched his eyes closed, creating a pained expression.
"What about your boyfriend?" he asked, honestly wanting you to be happy and worried of the trouble the kiss could bring you. Especially in these circles.
"I never really started dating again after you." you cheepishly admitted.
"Then Minho..."
"is my brother." you finished, not all that surprised by his assumption. But the truth shocked him more.
"I thought you wanted nothing to do with... My kind of people." he didn't want to say it. Like he was ashamed of it.
"I was born into it, I tried to escape it but instead ran straight back into it with you. I've realized now it's not something I can escape." you gave him another deep kiss "and now I don't think I want to anymore."

Never Enough
Summary: A beautifully decorated dorm for Christmas, features the one thing you wish to avoid most. Mistletoe.
Oneshot
Fluff, Established Relationship Au
Word Count: 1,555
Kihyun X Reader
Requested: for the 12 days of winter, can I request #10 “Mistletoe… my arch enemy” with Kihyun? Thank you!! ☃️
Prompt: 9. “Mistletoe… my arch enemy”
------
Kihyun spends every year decorating the dorm for their annual Christmas party. It’s something that he enjoys. So, when he invites you, it's not only to celebrate the holiday together. It's also to show you his hard work. And honestly, you couldn’t wait to see all his decorations. He came over to your house the night before brimming with excitement, “I want to see your reaction firsthand when we walk in together.” You shook your head at him but couldn’t help but grin, knowing how much hard work he put into it.
While Kihyun is getting dressed for the festivities, you're sitting at your desk doing your last-minute wrapping. You hear him hum and turn towards him. He asks, “Ready, baby?” You look down at your outfit and wipe off a few pieces of wrapping shred, “Yeah!” He pulls you up from your chair, spins you into his arms, and kisses your cheek. You blush as he leads you to the front door. You both pull on your shoes and coats before walking hand in hand to the party.
You gasp as you reach the outside of the dorm. He decorated the outside with Christmas trees wrapped in garland and ceramic snowmen holding welcome signs leading toward the entrance. He unlocks the door, and you notice the beautiful wreath outside the door. You grin before seeing his holy grail: the living room. It looks like he’s been working on this for months. When in reality, he texted you that he was starting to decorate the dorm last Monday. He went full out from white Christmas string lights that line the room and hang down from the ceiling to hanging ornaments and stars from the string lights, making it look like a Christmas wonderland. He watches you with delight as you let out little oohs and ahhs as you take in everything.
And that's when you see his miniature village that lines the wall. He smiles and leads you closer to it, “There’s a house for all seven of us that live at the dorms.” You nod, and he smiles, “That’s our house.” He points to a beautiful two-story miniature with little dogs in Santa hats and two village people kissing. And you giggle before saying, “You made us so cute. Oh, it’s all so lovely, Ki. You've worked so hard.” He fills with pride as he points out each little thing he did. Like how he made the mixture of snow with cotton and glue. And how he used fishing wire to hang the bulbs and stars.
You watch him excitedly tell you about it all. And you hang onto his every word, “What about the Santa hats on each photo frame?” He smiles, “I used that blue putty to attach each hat.” He leads you to the photo you both took together last Christmas, “You gave me a (f/c) hat?” He nods, “I tried to get everyone’s favorite color hat, but I made yours and mine specially.” You look over at him, “Seriously?” He smiles, “I used the regular foam colors for everyone but yours and mine.” You nod, and he continues, “I mixed acrylic paint to make the colors of our hats.” You blink your tears back to avoid them rolling down your cheeks. But you smile at him and kiss his cheek, “I love all of your decorations, but your attention to detail is my favorite.” He smiles, and you pull him in for a hug. He wraps his arms around you, and you squeeze him.
When you pull away, he leads you down the hallway and shows you the pine-like garland he looped along the walls and each wreath he hung on every door. You ask, “Did the boys help you at all?” That’s when Jooheon comes out of his room and says, “He never lets us do anything past putting out the boxes and decorating the main tree together.” You shake your head at him, “He’s a cute perfectionist, ain’t he?” “He’s a perfectionist, alright.” You hide your laugh as Jooheon continues, “Definitely not as cute as me.” You laugh, and as he leaves, Kihyun pouts, and you kiss it away. “You’re way cuter.” He nods, “And?” You sigh, “And handsome.” He smiles, satisfied with your answer, “I swear you learned that from Joo and Min.” He shrugs, “It comes in handy.” You shake your head, and you continue your tour.
You both exit the hallway, and he walks you through the living room to the kitchen. The party was starting to get into full swing when you see it, “Mistletoe…” You glare at it as you grow closer to it. And continue, “My arch enemy.” He raises his eyebrow and gives you a confused look, “What? Why is that?” You shrug at his question and put your hands in your pocket. “I’ve never been kissed under it.” He laughs and shakes his head, “I’m surprised. Someone as cute as you should have been already.” He pulls your left hand out of your pocket and goes, “Come on.” You tilt your head at him, “Why?” He grins, “You’ll see.” He has you follow him to the opening and stops under the mistletoe. “Would you mind if I was your first?” You blush and shake your head, and he holds your cheek in his free hand and brings you in for a short yet sweet kiss.
You hear loud cheers of “(Y/n)!” and “Kihyun!” You turn beet red as you look over to see Hoseok holding a camera and taking a photo of you while Minhyuk cheers for you two to kiss again. Kihyun leans in to ask, “Want to give them a show?” You smirk, your confidence soaring with him in front of you, and give him a nod. He moves his hand from beside your jaw to underneath and kisses you deeply. The two hoot and holler as you move your free hand into his hair and weave your fingers through, deepening the kiss. When he pulls away, you’re both left breathless. The other two are busy looking through their camera shots, but you can only see him. His cheeks are a rosy-red, and he’s grinning at you, “How was that for your first time under the mistletoe?” You mirror his grin and say, “I hope it happens many more times.” He smiles and squeezes your interlocked hands as you release your grip on his hair.
You kiss his nose for good measure before you both walk into the kitchen and grab some snacks to eat. He carries your shared plate, and you get your first drinks of the evening. As you walk back underneath the mistletoe, you grin as you pull him into your arms, and he gasps as you pull him into a kiss this time. You linger in the passageway before pulling away to continue walking and laugh, “I didn’t know my arch enemy could become my most revered friend.” He smirks, “You know that’s not the only time you can kiss me, right?” You shrug, “But it’s more special that way.” He shakes his head and kisses your forehead as you sit together on the couch. You crack open your drinks and say, “Cheers to many more mistletoe kisses?” He laughs and cheers, “To many more!” You clink them together before drinking from them. You smile and snuggle into his side as you both eat your snacks.
You both end up under the mistletoe many more times. For something you hated before because you never experienced it, you certainly couldn’t get enough of it now that you had. And as long as it was making you happy, Kihyun was more than happy to oblige. Although you partake in games and feast, the plant is the most exciting part. And who were you to resist, especially when you get to kiss a guy like Kihyun?
As the last few guests filter out and all of you have rid the dorm of litter. And the rest of the members have retired to their rooms. You dance with Kihyun to the Christmas music that's softly filtering out of the speakers. You sway in his arms as you look over to the mistletoe. He whispers, “You wish to be kissed under there again?” You shrug as you look into his eyes, “Here’s fine, too.” He gives you a small kiss before spinning you underneath the mistletoe and kisses you again. When he pulls away, you wait a moment before pulling him back in, “Because one is never enough.”
You continue swaying underneath the mistletoe before hearing something clattering. You catch Changkyun sliding through the space between the island and cabinets to get a glass of water. You two snicker as he mumbles, “I can’t wait for you two to get tired of the mistletoe.” Kihyun smirks, “You’re just jealous you didn’t get to kiss anyone under it this year.” He scoffs as grabs his glass of water, “Good night, (Y/n). Good night, Ki...” You two giggle at Changkyun as he scoots back through the way he came. When he's made it safely back into his room, Kihyun asks, “One more, for good ole time's sake?” You nod, “Yeah, and then you can put it away tomorrow.” He smiles and brings you in for one last kiss underneath the mistletoe.

Blue Lagoon
Pairing: Yoo Kihyun x female reader
Genre: fluff
Warnings: none
Word count: 879
Tumblr media
Blue was everywhere. The cerulean sky met the ocean in the distance, blinding Kihyun every time he dared to look out at the bright tropical scenery before him. Then there was your swimsuit, a playful thing of navy and white, complimenting your royal blue nail polish that currently held a fruity mocktail topped with, you guessed it, a blue umbrella.
He was close to laughing when he met your blue eyes, a knowing smile crossing your lips as you took a sip. “Overwhelmed?”
“Here in paradise?” he questioned, shaking his head. “No way.”
“Liar,” you said.
When you told Kihyun he had to travel with you to the Caribbean, he was a little confused. Why him? He had been asking himself ever since you gave him the second plane ticket to this all-expenses paid trip you had won. He’d even asked you too, and you had been simple with the responses.
“Don’t tell me you don’t want to soak up the rays with me on the beach and take a bunch of photos, Kihyun.”
“We both need a break.”
“You were the first person I thought of. Why wouldn’t I want my best friend here with me?”
He supposed it made sense. But Kihyun knew you well and could tell when you were skirting around truths. Besides, you had a boyfriend of two years back home who should have been in his place.
Looking down at the white shirt unbuttoned over his upper half and his green swimming shorts, he didn’t have a single blue thing in common with this place like you did.
Slumping on the poolside barstool, he turned his attention to the drink you were sucking up through a straw and continued to contemplate his strange melancholy. He was in paradise. Yet he hadn’t relaxed since landing late last night.
“Stop thinking so hard.”
“Tell me why I’m here then.”
You suffered out a groan. “Persistence has always been your downfall.”
“You’re equally as stubborn,” he countered, and you shared an easy grin, a momentary familiarity pulsing between you. And then Kihyun looked back out at the dreamy surroundings and remembered he was like a fish out of water here.
Ironic, due to the water all around him.
“I didn’t withhold information from you entirely. When I won the tickets, you were the first person I thought of. I started to plan the entire trip with you in mind. Where we could visit that would take the best photos, what we could discover together. The food we’d eat, and all the dancing at night. Everything with you sounded like the best trip ever.”
He nodded softly, agreeing with your thought process. You were the person he turned to first with everything in his life. It made sense, you were his longest friend, after all.
You put down the drink you had been enjoying, playing with the straw in the almost empty glass. The paper umbrella that was stuck in a wedge of orange loosened, and Kihyun caught it before it fell. He looked at it as if it would hold all the answers, but all it did was open and close as he methodically pushed the mechanism on the stick.
“Being here with you means I left Ben behind,” you said quietly, worrying your bottom lip between your teeth after. “Choosing you meant I didn’t choose him.”
“He won’t be too thrilled.”
“He’s no longer in the picture, Ki.”
Snapping his focus to yours, he found an unguarded vulnerability in those blue eyes of yours. How often had he stared into your eyes and lost time within them? He could stay trapped within you forever, he was certain. However, the way you watched him now was different. Hopeful. Nervous. Determined.
Holy shit, he thought, his mouth falling ajar. You had chosen him.
“I’ve always loved you,” you told him, breaking your stare, looking out to the sea beyond the resort’s large pool. “I just didn’t realise I was in love with you until I chose you.”
Kihyun watched your throat bob nervously as the silence stretched, no doubt your confession being something you had hoped to do when you both weren’t floating adrift so you could have something to anchor onto. Reaching out for your bare thigh, Kihyun squeezed it gently, offering you a lifeline. You didn’t hesitate to wrap your hand around his wrist, your blue once again washing all over him. Kihyun wanted to drown in you, in this moment.
Paradise lay at his feet and held onto his wrist.
Smiling more casually than he felt, Kihyun shifted closer to you. “I’ve loved you forever.”
“Oh, I know.” A sly curl of your lips accompanied your response. “You’ve never successfully hidden your feelings from me.”
“Is that right?” You shared a laugh.
“I want to explore this place with you,” you told him determinedly, and Kihyun knew you weren’t talking about the island you were staying on. “What do you want to do?”
Jumping down off his stool, he held out his hand for yours. Once again, you didn’t hesitate to slip it against his, fitting just as perfectly as it always had. He smiled down at your linked hands, liking your blue against his skin. “I’m up for a new adventure with you.”

─•❥◆❥•──•❥◆❥•──•❥◆❥•──•❥◆❥•─The digital clock standing across the room was the only source of light in the bedroom. The silence was interrupted once in a while by the squeaky sound of the bed frame when Kihyun was changing his position. It was around 1 AM when you sneaked out of the bed. It was not easy to free yourself from Kihyun's arms. You pulled on the fuzzy socks you received from him along with the silky-smooth set of pajamas.
"Something pretty, for me to enjoy and something thoughtful to keep you warm and healthy." He said with a smirk, sitting comfortably on the couch while you were sitting next to him on the carpet. The Christmas tree in the corner.
You smiled softly at the memory. Ever since then, with each gift you received from him, there was a pair of fuzzy socks. You looked over your shoulder at your sleeping boyfriend before you got up. Slowly, so you would not wake him up. He did not even have the strength to take a shower, just went straight to bed.
It was a rough day for him. Photoshoots, dance classes, hours spent in the studio; recording. Waking him up was the last thing you wanted to do, even though you felt pretty lonely and needed someone to talk to.
You padded towards the kitchen, leaving the door to your bedroom slightly open. You picked up Kihyun's hoodie that he left in the kitchen and put it over the thin top of your pj's. It smelt more like him than his cologne and you were thankful for it.
You put the kettle on and took your favorite mug out of the cabinet along with your favorite tea that helped your mind slow down. Lately, you were under a lot of pressure and even though Kihyun was always there for you, supporting you like the perfect boyfriend he is, you could not bring yourself to burden him. Especially now, before their comeback.
You opened your diary and started writing as you were waiting for the water to boil. You draw small hearts and dozens of smiley faces. The diary brought back good memories of how you met, but the pleasant feeling of reminiscing did not last long.
A few days ago you saw this TikTok edit with the boys and babies. The way Kihyun reacted to the baby's voice, broke your heart. It was too soon to think about starting a family, but was your relationship serious enough to tell him?
Your mind was clouded with all the possible reactions you could get from him. You did not realize that you were drawing a little family until the kettle started whistling. You jumped off the chair to turn the stove off, so the boiling water would not wake up Kihyun. You took the mug with you to the living room. The plan was to watch a few episodes of your favorite TV series in hope that your brain will get tired and hopefully muster the courage to confess to Kihyun about the tubal ligation.
──•❥◆❥•──
You woke up to the gentle touch on your cheek. The screen of the TV was turned on but it was still dark enough for you to jump away from the person who was crouching in front of you. The nightmare was vivid in your mind.
"Sh… Sh… it's just me, snowflake." Kihyun whispered, getting up when you no longer were trying to scoot away from him. "Why are you sleeping on the couch?" He quizzed, taking the spot next to you. Kihyun grabbed a few pillows and a blanket as he got comfortable.
"I could not sleep, so I made myself a cup of tea and turned on the TV here so I wouldn't wake you up." You mumbled as you rubbed your eyes to get rid of the drowsiness and laid back down, hugging yourself with the blanket that he covered your bare legs with.
"Why are you up?"
"I turned around in the bed and you were not there." He answered, following your suits and resting his head against your thighs. It did not take long for him to start snoring again. You reach down your body to play with his hair as you resume watching the series.
"Telling you this will be one of the most frightening things for me to do." You said softly as you played with his black, greasy hair. "We met under odd circumstances. The beginning of our relationship was not easy and we are still learning how to make it work, but I have always believed that communicating is the key." You scoffed at yourself because here you are talking to your unconscious boyfriend instead of facing the problem while he is not asleep. "I believe that I should have told you this at the very beginning." Your voice began to break. "I can not have kids…" You muttered, squeezing your eyes to prevent the tears from falling. " …and it is not because I was born infertile. It was my decision." You have bitten your tongue.
Now, you only have to say the same thing again when he is awake. You took a moment to admire his face, how at peace he looked. His lips slightly parted, looking so soft and lonely. You felt a bit more courageous so you lent forward, banding in an awkward way to press a kiss against his forehead. "I love you."
The silence was comforting, especially when his arms were wrapped tightly around your thigh. Once again you were left alone with your thoughts, but not for too long.
"I know." Kihyun rubbed his cheek against your thigh as he played with the drawstring of your fuzzy sock.
"I want you, blossom. All of you." His voice is low and husky, startling you. Kihyun's arm tightens its grip around your thigh as he pressed his lips against your skin. "I am confident that you just need more time to grow into that role, with the way you are looking at kids." His eyes remained closed as he drew small hearts against your knee. "You see. I have done a little research about the whole tubal ligation. One out of two hundred women can get pregnant. We can always adopt or not. I see how you are looking at kids and how gentle you are with them. I want that. I want to witness it happening here in our house but if that's not something you do not want we can always get a puppy. They are as clumsy and cute as kids." He chuckled and tilted his head back to look at you.
His look was gentle, filled with love, something you were not expecting to see, as well as you were not prepared to have this conversation right away.
"But you want to have kids. I don't want to take it away from you."
"Blossom, I don't want it to take you away from me. We have never talked about it and it is not like we had the chance to experience what it is like." Kihyun rolled onto his front and crawled up the couch to hover above you. "I am in love with you."

[3:43 am] Kihyun finally came back home after filming the Voyager music video. you were playing on your phone while resting in your shared bed waiting for his return. and you grin when you see him open the bedroom door, "Welcome back, baby!" he smiles in greeting and crawls into bed, and you look towards him, and he tells you, "I did something different; would you like to see?" you nod, and he unbuttons his shirt a bit, and you visibly blush. while it's not the first time you've seen him undressed. it's the first time you're seeing him like this with fake tattoos littering his chest, and you gasp, "They're so pretty" he blushes, "You think so?" you nod immediately and raise your hand to his chest before he nods and you trace your hands over them, feeling the dried paint. it sends shivers through him and that's when a thought comes over you. you place a kiss on his lips, and kiss his cheek, before trailing down his neck and kissing over each of temporary tattoos. he's beet red when you stop to look up at him, and whisper, "I wish they were real, but I guess we should enjoy them while they last. Don't you think?" he nods as his lips curl into a smirk, "I think we should."

Day 2 | Yoo Kihyun
Paring: Yoo Kihyun x Reader
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: none
Rating: G
Word Count: 1.2k
Prompt: Snowball Fight
Masterlist
Tags: @doveslittlekpoparchive @choicesthot @xosunny @heaviihamonii
Asking Yoo Kihyun to a snowball fight was like a loss waiting to happen, yet she threw the offer on the table the moment she saw the blanket of snow that covered their front yard. Slowly, she turned back towards him, watching as his ears perked up at the idea she had thrown at him.
She couldn’t tell what was slowly etching on his face. She remained uncertain whether it was a smirk of amusement or a spark of competitiveness. Even though the room was cozy and warm, a chill of anticipation went down her spine. She found herself holding her breath as Kihyun contemplated the proposal.
In the silenced room, she could only hear the soft ticking of the wall clock and the crackling of the firewood burning in the fireplace. She gazed at Kihyun, his expression unreadable yet intriguing. His eyes flicked to the window and then back to her, a thoughtful crease formed on his forehead. His dark eyes seemed to sparkle at the prospect, matching the twinkling snowflakes outside.
Finally, he got up from his seat, removing the blanket that was warmly wrapped around him. As he walked towards the front door, he briefly glanced at her, the corners of his mouth slightly lifting up. “As much as you are cute, I won’t lose to you,” he declared, his voice light and filled with mirth. “Get ready to lose, babe.”
She blinked, surprised by his acceptance and eagerness. With a playful smile tugging at her lips, she rose to the challenge, mentally preparing herself to face Kihyun in a thrilling snowball fight. She watched as he threw on his heavy coat; his eyes flicked over to her, then to her own jacket, then to her hat and gloves, silently telling her to throw it on to keep warm and meet him outside.
Nodding, she picked her warm, fluffy coat from the hanger and slipped it on, a sense of excitement bubbling up inside her. Following Kihyun’s silent advice, she grabbed her gloves and winter hat. Her fingers wiggled into the warm confines of her gloves while she pulled down the hat until it was snug over her ears. The chill of the winter air was instantly warded off, a soft sigh escaping her lips.
A blast of crisp, cold air greeted her as she stepped outdoors. The snow beneath her boots crunched, the sound echoing in the tranquil winter landscape. She could see Kihyun a few steps away, his dark hair peeking out from under his beanie. He turned around when he heard her approach, his dark eyes sparkling with impish delight.
He walked up to her and gave her a once-over, checking if she was tightly bundled up. His fingers gingerly reached out to zip up her coat all the way, ensuring every bit of warmth was locked in. He straightened her hat, making sure it covered her ears.
“Can’t have you freezing, can we?” he teased, a smug smirk playing on his lips. His attentiveness warmed her more than the coat and hat combined. Having double-checked that she was well protected against the cold, he stepped back, preparing for the upcoming battle. “Shall we begin, my love?” he asked, a wicked gleam in his eyes. The snowball fight was scheduled to kick off now. She felt a jolt of adrenaline pulse through her. She was ready.
With her nod of acknowledgment, Kihyun began to step back, retreating to maintain a fair distance between them before the first snowball was launched. Despite the underlying competitiveness, his smile was soft, even comforting. With each step, he playfully kicked up some snow, some of it spraying towards her.
“All right, here are the rules. No, aiming for the face, no ice balls, and the snow fort is off-limits until declared otherwise,” he began, his voice booming through the crisp winter air. He looked back at her, happy yet earnest, as if he were a referee outlining the rules of a professional sporting event. “We start when I throw the first snowball. You ready?” he asked, the pure mischief in his eyes now replaced with a glint of competitive seriousness.
Without waiting for her reply, he bent over, scooped up a handful of snow, and expertly fashioned it into a snowball. With her heart racing in her chest, she braced herself as he aimed. The first snowball zipped through the air a moment later, marking the beginning of their winter showdown.
The snowy battlefield erupted into action as the first snowball cut through the winter air. The soft thud as it landed signaled the start of their playful combat. Kihyun’s laughter echoed in the winter air, followed by her own as she quickly formed a snowball and returned fire.
The front yard came to life with their merry giggles, sounding like music to the snow-covered landscape. They darted around, ducking behind snowbanks, leaping up to launch their next snowball, their competitive spirits breaking free. Each hit was greeted with triumphant laughter or feigned annoyance, but the spark in their eyes and the joy on their faces truly made the day special.
When a particularly well-aimed snowball from her hit Kihyun square in the chest, his surprised yelp was quickly replaced with a hearty laugh. He retaliated with an impressive throw that sent a spray of snow over her, prompting a yelp of surprise and then laughter from her.
Their shared laughter rang harmoniously throughout the quiet winter front yard, a testament to their joyful camaraderie. They moved seamlessly around their battlefield, happy shouts and giggles providing a lively soundtrack to their snowball fight. Every snowball thrown, every triumphant cheer, was a symbol of their playful bond.
The fun and laughter carried on, their shadows lengthening on the snowy ground as daylight faded. But they didn’t notice. All that mattered was the joy of the moment – them, their laughter, and a friendly snowball fight under the winter sky.
The final throw of the game was hers. With a quick, determined grin, she scooped up a handful of snow, packing it tightly into her hands. Swinging her arm back, she took one last aim at Kihyun before shooting her arm forward, releasing the snowball. It sailed through the fading light of the afternoon, and with a direct, triumphant hit, it collided with Kihyun’s coat.
Their laughter halted momentarily, the silence echoing in victory as Kihyun looked down at the snow splattered against him. Then, breaking the silence, Kihyun’s laughter filled the air again, louder and warmer.
She had won.
“Well, aren’t you the champion?” he teased, a broad grin stretched across his face as he started moving towards her. Her heart pounded in her chest, her breath puffing in the cold winter air. Kihyun didn’t stop until he stood right before her, his playful eyes crinkling into a triumphant smile.
Before she could answer, he reached out, grabbing her by the waist and pulling her close to him. A gasp escaped her as she stumbled into his chest. And then he was kissing her face, dropping small, gentle kisses on her cold cheeks, nose, and forehead, each making her giggle and squirm in his arms. His touch was a delightful contrast to the cold winter air, each kiss leaving a small patch of warmth on her skin.
They were still standing in their snowy battlefield, but the snowball fight seemed a world away now. All that was left was their shared laughter, ringing in the quiet winter yard, his arms around her and his kisses warming her through. This, she thought, losing herself in his embrace, was the real victory of their snowball fight.

Should've Known Better
Tumblr media
Request: Here I am requesting PAIN. 17 with Kihyun~ (First interaction maybe based off when we did the hi-touch?) 💕 so happy for you to be writing here again, bby.
Prompt:
17) Two mini fics in one: The first time you see your bias. The last time you see your bias (guaranteed heart break ahead)
Prompt list can be found HERE.
Pairing: Monsta X Kihyun x Reader
Genre: Literally all of them (romance/fluff/angst)
.
The first time...
You pulled at the light stick strap dangling from your mondoongie, waves of nerves ricocheting through you. You were going to do it. You really secured a hi-touch to interact with Monsta X.
Tugging out your phone for what had to be the dozenth time, you popped open the camera app, and began examining your face. If you were going to get one shot at this, you were going to make it count. Sure, Monsta X were just regular guys with a pretty unique choice in career, but you wanted to impress them. Who wouldn't want to make sure they looked good in front of people they found incredibly attractive?
Watching anxiously as the row before you began to be ushered into the meet and greet space, you stood on your tip toes in an attempt to see what the process was. It looked like the seven boys were placed behind long folding tables. These acted as a barrier between the artists and the fans. Each member had their arm outstretched, ready to high five each fan and get in a kind word when possible. The contact was minimal, but it was enough.
Your heart dropped to your stomach as you quickly realized the row in front of you had been completed in the span of a breath. They were moving the fans so quickly, but it was unfortunately understandable. The staff and group had to be so tired after putting on such an amazing show. It was better to meet them briefly than not at all.
Before you could actually internalize what was happening, your feet were moving in a forward motion. Somehow you felt freezing and on fire at the same time. All you had to do was make sure you didn't embarrass yourself. The bar was really that low.
Approaching the tables, your eyes locked on the first member you would be interacting with, Jooheon. His confidence and swag had immediately attracted you and you muttered a quick prayer before lifting your hand. While you hoped to encapsulate every memory you made, you simultaneously hoped this would be over as quickly as possible. The turmoil of being a fan.
"Hello!" Jooheon sang as you place your fingers around his.
"Hi," you whispered back breathlessly. Just like that, you were moved on to the next member. Why hadn't you thought to say something special? Why were you just dizzily whispering a greeting in everyone's direction?
After Jooheon came Wonho and Minhyuk. It was such a blur that you weren't even entirely sure if you had made eye contact.
Trying to keep your breathing even, you moved on to Shownu and Hyungwon, both so tall they were leaning over the table and toward the fans. You greeted them both in turn before moving along to Kihyun.
You immediately knew this was different.
From being a long time monbebe, you knew Kihyun's archetype. He was a powerful singer, the "mom" of the group, a merciless flirt, and endlessly sassy. That mischievous attitude was bright in his eyes as soon as they slid to yours.
You thought you were prepared, or at least as prepared as you had been with the other members.
"Hello," he chimed, his smile widening as you placed your hand into his.
You echoed the word back to him and went to move forward, but it took a moment to recognize that your hand was still caught. You looked back toward Kihyun, momentarily shocked.
"MOVE THE LINE!" a security guard shouted, but all you could hear was a buzzing in your ears. What was happening?
"You're so pretty," he cooed, that smile turning into a smirk.
Your expression dropped and your mouth formed a small "o" before you realized the need for a response. "Oh, uh, thank you so much!"
Kihyun nodded as the security guard shouted again. Eying him over your shoulder, he finally let go of your fingers.
Blinking repeatedly, trying and failing to get a grasp on the situation, your body guided you to the final and youngest member, Changkyun. After giving him a high five, you were officially finished. You could actually breath again.
You felt suddenly exhilarated as you pushed out of the side doors of the building. That had gone much better than expected.
..
"He said I was pretty," you whispered to yourself as you shuffled off to the direction of the parking area. The realization crashed over you like a wave. It was a good enough feeling when someone you recognized as attractive also found you attractive, but this was next level. It wasn't just some random guy who hit on you in a super market, this was THE Yoo Kihyun of Monsta X.
And sure, were you hyping it up to be more than what it was? Maybe, but you felt good and you wouldn't let anyone take that away from you.
"Excuse me!" a deep voice shouted behind you, knocking you out of your thoughts. You glanced back to notice an intimidatingly large man stomping your way. Turning around and looking in just about every other direction, you were horrified to realize you were all alone.
"Stupid," you muttered as your body went hot, then cold. Your stomach felt hollow as fear now prickled the hairs on the back of your neck.
"Yo!" the man called again, this time much closer.
"I'll call the cops!" you squeaked, your hands searching through your bag for anything that could be used as a weapon.
"The cops?" the guy muttered before laughing. He halted his forward motion before calling out to you instead. "We need you to sign some paperwork."
Furrowing your brows, you spun around. Paper work? Since when had you ever filled out a survey at the end of a concert?
"I'm sorry, what?" you asked.
"Paperwork, for the monsters or whatever," he said, pointing back in the direction of where you had just came.
Paperwork for Monsta X? This was getting stranger by the moment. Maybe he was attempting to lure you off until you were really SOL. Or maybe he actually did need you to sign something. Maybe there was some sort of consent form for being filmed during the show if the staff were going to use it in a music video or promotion?
Giving in to your trusting nature, you decided to follow the burly man back into the stadium. You made sure to keep at least three yards behind, and your finger on your phone's emergency call butoon.
Upon entering the building, you were ushered through what seemed like an endless amount of hallways, only stopping when you reached a door marked as "Private."
Worrying your lip, you couldn't ignore the feeling of being so very alone in this situation. You saw no other security guards leading fans in your direction. Matter of fact, everything had grown to a level of deafening quiet.
"Here you go," the security guard hummed, unlocking the door, and motioning for you to go in.
The room was simple enough. Racks of clothes were pushed toward the walls, while a couch sat in the room's center. Before it, a small coffee table had been placed, and atop that, a stack of papers.
"Go ahead and sign those, and wait for someone to come back in," he nodded before shutting the door. You grimaced as you heard the audible click of him locking it.
"Shit," you muttered, trying to reason with the panic. "Shit, shit."
Pacing back and forth for a moment, trying to come up with any type of escape plan, you couldn't help but kick yourself. Why would you follow any strange man anywhere? You should have said something, you should have put up a fight, you should...at least examine the papers he had directed you to.
Rounding the table, you plopped onto the couch, and took the stack into your hands. The last thing you were expecting appeared on the header.
Non Disclosure Agreement.
....
In the end...
"You ready?" a voice you recognized sounded through the door.
Was he talking to you? Surely he wasn't...
Kihyun's head popped into the doorway, a large smile plastered there. "Are you ready?"
You opened your mouth and closed it again, unsure of what exactly you were supposed to be ready for.
Kihyun chuckled to himself as he crossed the room. Looking down at the unsigned NDA, he looked up again in confusion. "You didn't sign the stupid little thingie."
"i'm sorry?" you said softly, narrowing your eyes. "I'm not exactly sure what I'm signing it for?"
All of the worst thoughts crossed through your mind. You realized you didn't really "know" your idols. All you knew was what they allowed you to and how they portrayed themselves on screen. Was Kihyun really a creep? Were Monsta X really a band of illustrious perverts?
Kihyun stepped back, his expression still one of confusion. "So we can go get food?"
"Okay," you murmured, trying to tamper your own confusion. "What?"
Kihyun motioned helplessly to the paperwork between you. "It's a technicality. I saw you, I thought you were pretty, I want to take you to eat. You have to sign your name so you can't go and tell people how good looking and intelligent I was."
"Is that it?" you mused, relief washing over you.
"What can I say?" he grinned. "I have enough good publicity."
....
Kihyun had taken you to a hole in the wall bar, hardly a five minute walk from the venue. After asking how he even knew it existed, he said he had asked the security team where the best place to grab food this late would be.
"No, no, no," he said slowly, wiggling a fry at your face. "What do you meaaan you don't like Imagine Dragons?"
"I didn't say I didn't like them," you huffed. "They just aren't my go to."
"Then what's your go to?" he asked, tossing the fry into his mouth.
You thought for a moment before grinning. "Monsta X."
Kihyun covered his mouth as he let out a startled laugh. "Ha-ha, but no, really."
"Really!" you insisted.
"You don't need to boost my ego, Y/N," he smiled, dipping another fry into ketchup. "I'm fine doing that myself."
"I've become aware," you grinned. "But seriously, you don't have any idea how much your music means to me and other fans around the world. Of course you have some level of understanding, but I wish you could feel how we do in our hearts."
Tilting his head to the side and giving you a close lipped smile, Kihyun assessed you. He reached forward and grasped your hand in his. "That's very sweet of you."
Sweet and pretty - two words you had never expected to come out of an idol's mouth and in your direction. This night felt like a dream, at moments, you were convinced it was. Why would someone like him spend time in a dingy bar getting to know one of his fans? Sure, you were special in your own way, but you didn't think you exuded the level of excitement it took to capture a celebrity's attention.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Depends on if I have an answer," he hummed, his hand still on yours.
"Why me?" you asked, furrowing your brows. You attempted to avoid his gaze as you continued. "Like why pick me specifically, and why did you want to grab dinner? This whole night has been a huge mystery to me. Is this normal?"
"Define normal," he grinned. He began tracing small circles on the back of your hand with his finger. "You have to understand, my life is anything but."
"Well, obviously," you sighed. "But that's not really an answer."
"I don't know, Y/N," he grumbled. Withdrawing his hand, he continued. "I don't know how much you know about me, but my assumption is a fair amount. My job...we don't stay in one place for very long and it can get so lonely. Yeah, we have each other, but even that isn't enough sometimes. Sometimes you just want to talk to someone. Someone who sees you and someone who you can take a brief moment to see in return. It's a slice of our support net and I think that's very important...
And of course you are attractive, which helps."
Tossing your napkin at the table, you let out a laugh. "Why are you like this?"
"Why do I have a feeling you like it?" he grinned.
Probably because you did.
"Let's get headed back," Kihyun sighed. "I've got to get back to schedules tomorrow and you have to...I assume...go to work? Daydream about me?"
"I'm not honoring that with a response," you chuckled. Sliding from the booth, you watched as Kihyun tossed some cash on the table before standing beside you. Wrapping an arm around your shoulders, he tucked you into his side. Suddenly, air seemed a lot more difficult to breath and your lungs were much too small to handle the normal amount of oxygen.
Guiding you out of the bar and down the street, you tried to savor the moment for what it was. It was a relatively quiet walk back to the venue, the night coming to a much quicker close than you had wanted. No questions crossed your mind to spark conversation, only the feel of Kihyun's hand wrapped around your waist dominated your thoughts.
"Well, I have to say, that was a lot of fun," Kihyun sighed, stopping short of the back door you had originally left from. "You were truly a great date."
"Thanks," you smiled, looking down at your feet. If you looked at him, you were scared you would cry, or laugh, or maybe a mixture of both. No one would believe you even if you were allowed to talk about tonight. Let alone, that the chemistry between the two of you had been pulsing since you first set eyes on each other.
"Hey," he whispered, sliding his fingers around your chin and tilting it upwards. His eyes searched yours as you felt lost in his. He was so close, so painfully close.
But it would be delusional if he...if he...
"Hey," you breathed.
With his free hand, Kihyun reached up, tucking a wayward strand of hair behind your ear. Moving the hand that was on your chin, he chose to trace the line of your jaw all the way back until he was holding the back of your neck.
"I guess..." he said quietly, likely afraid to shatter the fragile moment between the two of you. "What would a good date be without a good night kiss?"
His face hovered before yours for a moment, his eyes searching and unsure.
You gave a very slow, small nod which was all of the approval he needed.
You could instantly tell Kihyun was touch starved. As soon as his lips met yours, you could almost feel his sigh of relief, the tension falling from his shoulders. Wrapping his free hand around your waist, he tugged you closer while simultaneously tilting your head back with the other hand. Deepening the kiss, he let out a small groan as his tongue slipped in between your lips. He tasted like mint and something you suspiciously wondered was ketchup. It wasn't unpleasant at all.
Pulling away for a moment, Kihyun looked at you again. "Y/N...we probably shouldn't..."
"Probably not," you agreed quietly.
Taking the edge of his bottom lip between his teeth, he stared at you in contemplation before leaning forward again. Placing another soft kiss to your lips, this time the sigh was audible. He instantly stepped back, dropping his hands from your body.
The feeling of loss was immediate.
"No," he said confidently. "That...that was wrong. I'm sorry, I took advantage...and, and you trusted me. Shit."
"This is wrong," you repeated numbly. Now you really were considering crying.
"I can't see you again," he said quietly, avoiding your attention. Suddenly something very interesting had apparently popped up beside his shoe.
"I get it," you said quickly. "Maybe we could exchange information?" You knew you were a fool for suggesting it, but tonight was special and you were convinced you weren't the only one who thought that.
"No," Kihyun said, this time looking up. "You're a fan...this...this isn't how this works."
His words felt like a slap to your face. "I wasn't just a fan not even five minutes ago, Kihyun."
"I didn't mean it like that," he groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You know what I mean. You look up to me in a way, and I breached that trust."
"But you didn't," you croaked. You had wanted him to kiss you. Not as an idol, but a boy who had just taken you to dinner. You knew how irrational this all was.
He looked up again and gave a tight nod.
"I see now," you said quietly. "How lonely it is. Creating human connection and then severing it all in one night. You must be exhausted."
"This wasn't normal," he insisted. "I don't...I don't just go around making out with every fan I meet!"
"Well, I would hope not."
"Y/N," he sighed. "Can we just...part ways here? I hope you still support us as kindly as you have and look back on this night fondly."
You nodded slowly, sucking at the inside of your cheek. "Sure I will...but will you?"
He looked at you with a stony expression before turning on his heel and heading back into the stadium.
You shook your head before doing the same in the direction of the parking garage.
You should have known better.

Tumblr media
She opens her door and I look up at her
"Ki? Are you ok? Do you need something?", she asks worriedly
Yes I need something
I need her
I was so blind
My whole life I never noticed her
She's a friend I had since childhood
And she's always been there
She started working at Starship before me as a stylist for a female solo artist
She told me about the NO. MERCY show and urged me to try out for it
She believed I could make it
It's because of her I'm in Monsta X
Once the group was formed, she was moved to us, becoming a stylist for us
I started seeing her more often and we began to become closer, hang out more
I kissed her once
When we just started and were on a dating ban
It didn't go further than that one kiss but I did enjoy it a lot
As we became popular we got more busy and I slacked on our friendship
But she was always there
Comforting me when the pressure got too much and I need to talk to someone
When I needed to cry to someone
She always encouraged me, told me I could do anything
She let me sing to her so I could practice, watched me practice in her living room until I got the moves right
She was always at every performance because she dressed us
And after the performance, she always told me how proud she was of me, how amazing I am, how good my voice is
Always praises me
She was there when my first girlfriend left me for another idol
She held me while I cried, listened to me when I needed her to, comforted me
My next girlfriend was serious and I fell in love
And I dropped her
Stopped talking to her, through texts, phone and in person
My girlfriend would come to the performances so she wasn't able to compliment me when I got off stage
And honestly I forgot about her and ghosted her
For years
Until I found out my girlfriend cheated on me and I broke it off with her
That was last year
I called her at the time and she immediately picked up and talked to me for hours, listening to my stupid problems
She was still there, seeing me the next day, letting me in her apartment, comforting me again when she should have thrown me out, when she should have ignored me
And these past months, we've been busy again
I forgot about her again, neglected to call her
Just a few texts here and there
Now when I'm ushered off stage, I realize I don't even go near her anymore
It wasn't about until about two weeks ago that I opened my fucking eyes
I don't know what it was about that day
All I know is that she was talking to Jooheon and he made her laugh
I noticed how stunning her smile is, how cute her giggles were
I really looked at her and found her to be so fucking gorgeous
And all I wanted to do was kiss her
But I didn't
A week ago, I realized I love her when I saw her talking to another staff member
He was eyeing her, obviously trying to impress her
I don't know if she noticed but I did and I was so pissed off
It threw me off balance and I wasn't able to right myself the whole day
It took me a week to get the courage to finally decide to tell her how in love with her I am
It took the guys telling me to tell her, to get me here in front of her door
The guys noticed something was different about me, that I was off and more quiet than usual
I told them why
"Finally", Changkyun said
"What the hell does that mean?", I snapped
"It means you finally opened your dumbass eyes", Jooheon answered
"We were waiting to see when you'd notice how much she loves you", Hyungwon added
"Uh what?"
"She loves you", Minhyuk repeated, "It's so obvious"
I was shocked because I didn't think it was obvious
I had no clue
"It was?"
Changkyun nodded, "Yeah man, the way she looked at you all the time, it was clear as day"
"Her eyes would follow you around the room and she always smiled when you did something she thought was cute", Jooheon chimed in
I had no idea about any of this
And I wasn't sure about what they said
I decided I needed to talk to her
Asap
And now that she's in front of me, I can see it
I can see my whole life with her
Everything I ever wanted, a house, kids, love, happiness
It's with her
And I'm not going to blow it
"Ki?"
"I need you", I answer
She looks confused as I step inside her apartment, kick the door closed and pull her to me in a kiss that rocks my world
I never, in a million years, thought I would react this way from a kiss
My heart beats faster when her arms wrap around my neck
I slide my tongue in her mouth, deepening the kiss
She kisses me back, her fingers playing with the back of my hair
I slide my hands down to her thighs, picking her up, her legs wrapping around my waist
She's ridiculously light as I carry to her room
Moving onto her bed, I lay her down, moving on top of her
She looks up at me with her fucking deep beautiful brown eyes
Eyes I can drown in, stay in forever
And I plan to do just that
"I love you so fucking much", I breathe
Shock fills her eyes, her mouth slightly opening
"Please be mine", I ask, "I swear I'll love you forever"
She studies my face, her hand touching my cheek softly
"Yes", she says, lifting her head, pressing her lips to mine, "I love you Kihyun"
Pure joy fills my body
The guys were right
I was so stupid
I had my happiness right here in front of my eyes
I didn't see
I'll never be that blind again
She kisses me, pulling me down on top of her, her arms around my neck
I kiss her deeply, moving my tongue against hers, falling into her kiss
God I was missing out
I can't believe it's her the entire time
My baby
Her hands pull on my shirt and that's all it takes
Before I know it, our clothes are off and I'm between her legs, on top of her, still kissing her
Her soft skin moves against mine, feeling so good
Moving my kisses to her neck, I spread them everywhere
"Fuck, I love you", I tell her
I'm never going to stop saying it
I'll tell her everyday, every night
Always
"I love you", she whispers, holding me against her, her fingers running in the back of my hair
"I'm sorry baby", I whisper against her skin
"Sorry for what baby?", she asks
Lifting my head, I look into her eyes, softly touching her cheek
"I'm sorry for not noticing you sooner. I'm sorry for ignoring you when I had a girlfriend. I'm sorry for ignoring you when Monsta X is busy. I'm sorry for not being there when you needed me. I'm sorry that I was too stupid to see that you're my one", I apologize, "That you were right here all along and I was so blind and stupid. That you're my happiness"
She smiles and it's fucking stunning
"It doesn't matter Ki. What happened doesn't matter as long as you love me. As long as I have you"
"You do baby. I love you and I swear I'll make it up to you"
"You don't need to make up anything Ki. Just love me"
"I do Jo", I assure her
"Then that's all I need", she whispers
I crash my lips to hers, so fucking happy she's mine
All she wants is me and I'm so goddamn grateful
I know she said I don't have to but I will make it up to her
I'll do anything for her
Pressing more kisses to her neck, I move down her body, stopping at her perky books
Licking her nipple, I moan feeling it harden under my tongue
Wrapping my mouth around it, I suck softly, listening to her moans of pleasure
I spend some time playing with her nipple before moving to the other one, immediately sucking on it
I move my hand to her nipple I was just on, pinching and playing with it
After awhile, I move my kisses further down, kissing between her breasts, lick and sucking on the skin of her stomach
Her fingers play in my hair and it feels so good
I had no clue I liked having my hair played with
Moving lower, I open her legs, her pretty pussy so wet already
I can't hold back, laying my tongue on her, licking up her pussy slowly, tasting her juice, feeling her soft skin on my tongue
So good
"Fuck Kihyun", she calls and goddamn, hearing her say my name is music to my ears
I run my tongue up and down, in between her pretty lips and right into her hole
She clenches my tongue, sending shivers down my spine
God, I can't wait until she's clenching on my dick
First things first
I want to taste her cum
Sliding my tongue up, I roll over her throbbing clit, making her shudder and pull my hair
"Kihyun, baby"
Sucking her clit in my mouth, she moans loudly as I tug on her
I can't help but moan too, feeling her clit throb against my lips
God she's so good to suck on
Every part of her
Her nipples, her clit
I'm gonna want to suck on her everyday
Letting go of her clit, I slip my tongue down, right into her pussy
"Oh god", she cries, her body arching
Pulling out, I slide my tongue back up between her lips, ending with sucking on her clit
Then I do it again, going back down and inside her
Over and over, her clenching getting faster
The next slip of my tongue inside her, she screams my name, falling over the edge
Shoving my tongue as far as I can, she cums all over it, tasting so fucking sweet
Oh yeah, I'm definitely eating her out every day
When she finishes, I pull my tongue out then kiss her swollen pussy lips
As I sit up, she does too, gently pushing me down on my back
She presses her lips to my chest, kissing me softly, her lips feeling so fucking pleasurable on my skin
Her tongue licks down my body to my stomach, where she presses kisses to my abs
I watch her suck on my skin, licking the spots she sucks but never leaving a mark
I want her too so badly
I want her to mark me as hers
She lets go the skin she's sucking but I plead, "Please baby. Don't stop"
"It'll leave a mark Ki"
I nod, "That's what I want"
She raises an eyebrow, "Are you sure?"
I nod
I'm fucking sure
Her mouth goes back to the spot she was on before, sucking my skin back into her mouth
I moan from the pleasure, her hand moving down, wrapping around my hard dick
She licks the spot she was sucking on, dark purple on my skin
Fuck I love it
"More", I ask
I want so much more
As her mouth moves from place to place on my abs, her hand moves up and down my length, filling me with more pleasure
She pleasures me at a good pace, not too hard, not too soft
Not enough to make me cum but enough to keep me hard
She leaves so many scattered marks on my skin, some deep dark purple, other light
All so pretty
I close my eyes, feeling her hand moving on me
Suddenly the pleasure intensifies so much that I open my eyes to find my head in her mouth, sucking in time to her hand movements
It's a sight I never thought I'd see
Slowly she removes her hand as she takes me deeper into her mouth, sucking while she goes
"Oh my god", I moan, moving my hand in her hair, my fingers tangling in the strands
It feels so fucking good, too fucking good
Her tongue runs along my shaft as she bobs her head, taking more and more of me in with every move down my cock
Until I'm all in her mouth and my head is in her tight throat
She swallows, pleasure flaring and making my body tremble
Oh god, this is amazing
Her mouth moves, sucking rapidly and going at it like she's never going to suck my dick again
I watch her sucking hard, amazed that my whole length is in her mouth
In her throat
And she's not choking
How often has she deepthroated someone that it doesn't hurt her?
I don't want to think about that because it's just going to get me upset
I should of been with her but I was too stupid
Never again
The more she sucks, the closer she brings me but I don't want to cum
I don't know if I can get hard again after and I'm not risking it
I need to be inside her, feel her
I want it so bad
"Baby, sss...stop", I stammer, "I'm gonna cum. I don't want to"
Her eyes move to mine, a question in them
"I want to be inside you"
She nods, getting my dick out of her mouth, then immediately climbing on me
She takes my cock, holding it under her
She moves down, my head inside her and she continues to sink down my length
I grab her sheets hard, moaning so loudly as I feel her tight cunt stretching around me, hugging me tightly, opening only enough for me to pass through
I've never had this much pleasure just from going in a pussy before
But hers, fuck, envelopes me perfectly and is so wet, I was able to get in easily
"Oh my god, Kihyun", she moans, sitting on me, my whole length buried inside her
"Ok baby?", I ask
She nods, "Yes Ki. It's just....you feel so good. So fucking good"
"Yea?", I ask shyly, happy she likes how I feel
She feels amazing, perfect
She nods, "Yeah Ki. Fuck, no one's fit inside me as good as you"
Funny, I feel exactly that same way
"You're big, thick but still fit inside. Your head against my spot, fuck Kihyun you're perfect"
"You're perfect baby", I say softly, "Wrapped around me so well, throbbing so pleasurably. Like I was made to be in you"
She nods, "You are baby. You're mine"
"Always baby. I want to be yours forever", I confess, wanting that so much
"You are Ki. I'm never letting you go"
"And I swear I'll never let you go"
She smiles so beautifully, leaning down, kissing me
Stars blast in my vision, feeling her soft plump lips against mine
Pulling away, she sits up and slowly starts to bounce on me
And fucking bliss hits me so hard
Her speed increases with each bounce, rocking on my cock when I go back inside
"Oh fuck Kihyun", she moans, pleasure on her face
My mouth drops, watching her move, watching how unbelievably sexy she is
Her skin shivering, her boobs jiggling
Fucking stunning
"God baby, you're so fucking gorgeous", I whisper, "So fucking good"
"Wanna be good for you", she moans, riding me harder
"You are jagi", I tell her
She's too good for me
I'm not good enough for her
Not with the way I treated her, the way I ignored her
I need to be good for her, not the other way around
I grip her hips, softly moving my hands along her skin, feeling it tremble under my fingers
I love it
"Kihyun. Fuck. I can't-", she cries
"Cum for me. Please baby, cum on me", I plead
God I want to feel it so badly
"Kihyun!", she moans, coming and holy shit she's stunning
He head tilting back, soft moans and my name coming from her mouth as her cunt pulses hard and fast around my cock
I feel my dick get soaked, my eyes moving down, watching her hole clench around my cock
God it's so pretty
When she finishes, she starts moving, sliding up and down my length
I moan seeing her cream cover my cock completely, more and more leaking from her as she moves up and down
I can't take my eyes away from that sight
I'm mesmerized
I watch her cunt swallow my cock over and over, taking all of me in her small tight hole
Moving my hands down, I spread her swollen lips open to get a better view of her slit stretch and taking me in
She leans back, her hands on my thighs, riding me harder, slamming her pussy down on me and fucking her spot on my head
Her clit throbs so prettily and I move my hand so my thumb is rubbing it
"Oh god yes baby", she cries, her cunt leaking more juice all over me
"Keep going baby", I choke out feeling her cunt get jnooasibi tight, "Don't stop. Want you to cum"
She nods, practically jumping on my cock with how wildly she's riding me, the pleasure incredible
Her fingers dig into my thighs, her body soaked with sweat, beads of it running down between her bouncing boobs
"Ki...I...so close", she moans
I know, I can feel her
I just need to push her over the edge
When she comes down, I thrust up, smashing her spot and she screams loudly
I keep fucking up into her with every bounce, my thumb rubbing her clit furiously
"Please cum for me baby. Please"
"Kihyun!", she screams, flooding my cock
Everything gets so wet and I move my eyes to her hole watching her squirt around me
She's fucking gushing, so much pouring from her
I'm amazed she can squirt so much
"Fuck baby, look at you, squirting all over me"
"I...I am?"
"Yes baby. So much. So pretty"
"Fuck Kihyun"
When she finishes, I sit up, flipping us over and thrusting into her
Now I want to fuck her
"Kihyun!", she cries
"Yeah baby, I'm gonna fuck you so good", I tell her, "My princess. My baby. My love"
She moans, her arms around my neck, kissing me hard as I hike one of her legs higher up my body
I move my hand to her other leg, spreading that leg open more, giving me more room to slam into her pussy
"Fuck Ki!", she cries, breaking the kiss, "Don't stop"
"I won't baby. Not until you fall apart on my cock"
Pounding inside her, I impale her on my length over and over, pushing her tight hole wide open
And she takes me perfectly, screaming for me to keep going
Burying my cock in, I slam her spot and she screams, coming on me, her cunt holding my shaft in a vice grip
Keeping my whole cock inside her, I let her cum on me, the pleasure from her orgasm, mind blowing
"Joanne fuck!", I cry, shooting cum deep inside her as I cum, her hole throbbing hard, milking my cock for all my cum
Oh my god, this is the best orgasm I ever had
So fucking good
When we finish, I pull out, laying next to her, gasping for breath
I glance over at her, her eyes closed, her chest heaving as she breathes
Moving my hand down, I take hers, lacing our fingers together
Her eyes open as she looks at me, a huge beautiful smile on her face
"I love you", I tell her
"I love you", she answers, making me smile
I love hearing her say that
It'll never get old
Tugging on her hand, I pull her to me, wrapping her in my arms, holding her tightly
She lays her head on my shoulder, her face in my neck and it's perfect
We fit together perfectly, laying in comfortable silence, just being together
She squeezes me tightly as I play with her hair
"Is this real?", she asks softly
"Very real baby. You're mine and I love you"
She lets out a soft sigh, "You don't know how much I always wanted to hear you say that"
"I'm sorry baby. I wasn't paying attention and I was dumb. But I'm it anymore. I know I'm lucky to have you, lucky you love me after everything I did. And I swear I'm going to show you how much I love you every single day. I promise"
"As long as we're together I'm happy", she says
"Then we'll both be happy all the time"
"Good", she smiles, kissing my cheek then snuggling into me more, "Nap time Ki"
I laugh, "Nap?"
"Yup. Sleep then we can eat, then I'm gonna ride you again. Then sex in the shower and more after. I just want to be with you and now that you're mine, I can be"
"Oh yeah, every night baby. I'll be with you every night. I promise"
"Good. Now go to sleep", she instructs, closing her eyes, laying in my arms
"Yes ma'am", I laugh, kissing her forehead, "I love you"
"I love you", she answers, making me so happy
Cuddling her, I continue to play with her hair, holding her tight as I close my eyes

Greatest Gift
Summary: This Christmas might just change everything, but in the best way possible.
Oneshot
Fluff, Established Relationship au
Word Count: 2,328
Kihyun x Reader
Prompt: 12. Make your own prompt. - "You're the most beautiful gift I could have ever hoped for. A gift I want to keep forever. Will you allow me?" ------ I was thinking Christmas proposal/ engagement 🤭 ------ Gender neutral ------ With the one and only Yoo Kihyun 🤩 ------ Thank you and happy holidays!
[A/n: I think I physically ascended when I first read this and pictured him saying it. And to whoever sent this ask, just know I love you and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season. This was absolutely self-indulgent for me. I hope it’s very indulgent for you too.]
------
It was finally Christmas morning, and you couldn't be more excited as you opened your eyes. When you were a kid, you’d wake up at six am sharp, rushing over to the Christmas tree, hurrying your parents down the stairs to open presents. While the excitement faded a bit over the years, you still were excited to spend the whole day with Kihyun. Who, for the past seven Christmases, made you feel the joy of the holiday again.
You throw the blanket down, ready to run down, until you notice Kihyun isn't beside you, ready to push you out of the way as he runs to the tree, too. Your heart sinks, worrying that he left without you, before the door opens, and in pops Kihyun.
You sigh, full of relief, as he enters, “Don't worry, I didn't start unwrapping without you.” You smile as he walks in with a tray full of breakfast foods. He carefully walks, not wanting to spill anything. You hold your hands out and grab the tray after moving his blanket back so he can crawl back underneath them. With him all settled, he says, “This is my first Christmas gift to you.” You smile as you thank him and kiss his cheek as you settle the tray down over your legs. And see that he prepared everything just like how you liked it.
Which was different than any of the Christmases before, so you ask, “Did you grow up having breakfast on Christmas?” He shrugs, “It depended if my parents woke up before my brother and I.” You nod, “Ah, I always woke up before mine, so I guess that’s why we never had it.” He laughs, “I can see that. You're usually up before I am. I had to sneak out of here when you rolled over.” You laugh, and he smiles, “I love you.” You blush, “Ever since you wanted to say I love you more easily, you’ve certainly worked on it. But I love you too.” He smiles, and you lean your head on his shoulder after eating another bite of waffles.
You reiterate to him, “I mean it, you know? Every day that I wake up, and you’re beside me. I’m so thankful.” He kisses the top of your head, “I’m so grateful that I get to fall asleep beside you. I wish we always got to, like those married couples on TV.” You nod, not thinking much of the fact he specified them being married. “Me too, but I guess that’s the beauty of it. Even when they’re apart, they’re together.” He hums, and you move your head off his shoulder to finish your meal.
When you've both finished eating, he moves the tray, and you follow him down the stairs excitedly. When he asks, “Do you want to start the dinner with me first, and then we open presents?” You pout, “You’re no fun.” He laughs, “But you love me anyway.” You grin, “Yeah. Let’s make it!” Even though it was different, you shrugged it off and happily went with it. You both moved away from the living room and into the kitchen.
You pull out your cookbook and find the correct settings for the ham. And set the oven as he pulls it out and places it into the sink you cleaned the night before. He takes off the wrapping while you prepare the pan. You hold the bag out for him to put it in before dunking it with a sugary drink and adding brown sugar and fruits to the top. As you smother it, you ask, “Isn’t it kind of sacrilegious for you to eat ham?” He blinks at you before he realizes what you meant and bumps you with his hip. “No, two different animals.” You giggle, “I know, plus you’re more of a shark.” He smirks, “You know just what to say.” You grin and wash off your hands before tying the bag. You hear the buzzer ring, open the door, and put it into the oven as Kihyun washes his hands.
He starts cutting up veggies for the two of you to eat while you watch a Christmas movie, and you pull out a smaller cutting board to work alongside him. You make a small veggie tray for the two of you to snack on. Before heading to the living room, “So, Mr. Let’smakedinnerfirst. When are we going to open our presents?” He looks at the time before looking back at you, “Later.” You tilt your head, “Why?” He shrugs, and you realize he must have a big surprise waiting under the tree for you, or he wouldn’t be hesitant to open presents.
In fact, this is the first time in seven years. He’s waited to open presents. You want to say something to that fact, but you hold back. Whatever the reason was, it was a good one. And you didn’t want to ruin your surprise by pestering him because you knew he’d probably blurt it out due to his nerves. You let it go and eat your veggies while watching ‘Arthur Christmas,’ “You know, this is probably the most plausible Santa Claus movie.” He agrees, and you both watch as the little girl finally gets her present after the hundreds of trials and tribulations it took to get to her house. Santa finally made it. He says as the movie ends, “I think that was the best role for the older brother to fit.” You agree, “I think it was perfect how everyone ended up.” He nods, and you both get up from your cuddled position to start prepping other things to eat alongside the ham.
As you’re peeling an orange, he looks at the packaging and watches as you eat a slice, “Shouldn’t you not be eating these?” You tilt your head at him, and he goes, “Because you’re a cutie.” You laugh and tap his shoulder, “Ki!” He grins, “I’m right, you know.” You gasp as he steals the rest of your peeled orange and eats it. And you exclaim, “Kihyun!” He laughs before handing you another orange to peel. You push it back into his hands and cross your arms, and he shakes his head as he peels it for you, “Happier?” You grin as you snatch it before offering him a piece, which he gladly takes. “Now, we’ve both had one full one. And yeah, I’m happier now.” He smiles, “Good.”
To avoid having loads of dishes later, you start doing the dishes now. As you scrub one, you feel his arms slide around you before pulling you against him. He links his hands around you and says, “I love you. I hope you know how happy you make me.” You look back at him, “I love you too. And you make me very happy, too.” You put another dish on the rack to dry, and he unlinks his arms, grabs a cloth to dry, and puts the clean dishes away. As he puts away the plates, he starts singing one of your favorite love songs. You hum softly along until he encourages you to sing with him. He pulls you away from the soapy sink and holds your hands as he serenades you. He waits for you to sing your lines before he continues along. It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve heard his singing voice. It still sends shivers down your spine. You grin as the two of you sing in harmony.
As he finishes the song with butterflies running amuck in your stomach, he asks, “If you could be with me forever, would you?” You take a second to process his question before answering, “Of course I would. But I’ve already told you that.” He grins, “I know, but I just like hearing you say it.” You shake your head and smile at him. And he places a kiss on your forehead before you both finish up the current dirty dishes. The oven rings after you’ve finished and you put away your cookbook. Kihyun pulls the ham out of the oven and opens the bag while you turn the stove on.
And in no time, you’re eating Christmas dinner in front of the TV. Usually, you’d eat at the dining table, but because of the holiday and all the specials playing, you just had to eat in the living room. You both could clean up later if it gets dirty anyway. You watch ‘A Year Without A Santa Claus’ as you eat and giggle at the Miser Brothers' scenes, but find yourself sniffling at the “I believe in Santa Claus” song, and you turn to see Kihyun do the same thing. And you nuzzle closer to him, wary not to tip your plate. You finish your plate as the movie ends, and you both head back to the kitchen to clean up and throw trash away. It takes a while before you’re done and your hands are clean again. You head back to the living room, finding you both still have to open presents. You look over at Kihyun with pleading eyes and a pout, and he nods.
“Can I put it on tape?” You blink at him, “Tape?” He shakes his head, “I meant- I mean, film it on my camera?” You shrug, “Yeah, it’ll be nice to look back on next Christmas.” He smiles, “Maybe even more than that.” You grin and agree. He sets up his phone to film you both opening your presents. You drag your present piles over to the couch in front of his phone, and you do your best to ignore the camera as Kihyun does so effortlessly. You shake off any nerves before diving right into your pile while he does the same. You received a gift from each of your friends and a few from Kihyun. You open your friends' gifts first and appreciate each gift before ripping open the next package.
The pile of paper around you two becomes bigger and bigger as you open more and more presents. You look over to see Kihyun starting to open one of your presents. You smile as he opens the dark blue sweater you got him. He looks over at you as he puts it to his chest, “You got me the perfect shade of blue.” He winks at you as he takes his current sweater off before ripping off the price tag from the label and putting it on. He waits for you to open one of his, and you smile as you rip it open. And out falls a (f/c) cardigan, “I know you love wearing mine a lot, but I thought you should have one that went with more of your outfits.” You follow suit, ripping the tag off, and grin as you slip it over your long sleeve, “I love it.” You open your last two gifts from him and show him happily, and he shows you his.
You're looking through your pile to ensure you didn't miss anything. When Kihyun clears his throat, you don’t think much of it but still look over at him to watch him slip off the couch onto his knee. You ask, “You want help cleaning up?” Thinking that’s why he was getting off the couch and onto the floor. He shakes his head before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small box with a tiny bow on top of it. You whisper, “No way,” as you realize what he’s doing. You quickly move to sit properly and move all the wrapping paper and gifts off your lap. To truly perceive what’s going on. Now you know why he wants to film it other than his regular filming and photographing habits. He smiles as he watches you. When you finish, he’s moved a few things blocking his view.
He opens the box and reveals a darling ring with your favorite stone in the middle. But what causes you to start crying is when he says, “You're the most beautiful gift I could have ever hoped for. A gift I want to keep forever. Will you allow me?” You move the sleeve of your new cardigan down over your right hand to wipe your eyes before answering, “Of course.” He slips the ring over your left finger as you continue your answer, “You’re the greatest gift I could have hoped for. When I said earlier, I would be with you forever if I could. I meant it. I love you so much. I won’t just allow you to. I want you to. And I want to be with you forever.” He smiles, and you grin as you get on the floor in front of him and pull him into your arms.
When you've gained some composure, you ask, “Is this why you wanted to wait to open presents?” He nods, “I wanted it to be perfect.” You shake your head, “Even if it was a messy proposal. As long as it was from you, it’d always be perfect.” He holds you tighter, and you feel tears hitting, dampening your layers of clothes. You move your head away from his shoulder to look him in the eyes, “I knew five months into dating you I wanted to marry you.” He sniffles as you wipe his tears. And he reaches up to do the same. You can’t help but grin at him, “I love you. Oh, how I love you.” He tells you proudly, “I love you with my whole heart.” before cupping your cheeks and bringing you into a passionate-filled kiss.
When you are both back on the couch, you ask another question, “And is that why you wanted to film it so badly?” He nods, “Yeah, I wanted us to keep this moment forever.” You smile as you kiss his nose, “Me too. I'm glad you did. We should play it at our wedding.” He grins, “That's exactly what I was thinking.”
