my toxic trait is that when i draw something for a specific scene, I feel like I'm not allowed to draw that scene ever again because it's Done.

even though i can literally draw whatever i want whenever i want forever, i could draw the scene 5 billion times if i wanted to

but my brain says "yeah but people have already seen it so it'll have lost its impact, it won't be new anymore, so you better get it Perfect the first time"

and that's how you keep yourself from drawing anything ever

As an autistic introverted adult, people who just "pop over" to visit with no notice are so horrifying. Like, what are you doing? I've got plans, I'm doing stuff and you're just showing up to my home unannounced? I need 24-hour-notice before I can even consider making plans with you. What if I'm in the middle of a zoom call with a client, and you're out here leaning on my doorbell like we're 8 years old? My life is planned out! Maybe that plan is sitting on the couch reading fanfic, but these spoons are rationed baby!

hm feeling conversational so: i am finally!!!!!!!! making some kind of progress on narrative!fic. i feel like i’ve been drafting without a sense of where i was headed since april (“drafting” i say as if it is regularly occurring lol) and recently have been feeling mild panic that i will not be able to actually draw together all these subplots and explorations on themes that i want so so badly to be able to connect!

but i notecarded for a few hours this morning and ended up with MANY MANY NOTES on scenes that CONNECT. and found myself bouncing between notecards to scaffold various parts of scenes and to add notes for the groundwork of later scenes i know exist and just haven’t yet made it into my notecarding software! what a relief!! what a relief! i wish i knew what happened to get me here.

i suspect it is: sleeping enough + sudden decrease in rl stress + realizing that this is a story that is about different types of responsibility a few days ago + slowly learning to take note of even very small instincts about where a scene takes place, how a character feels going into a scene, what a character wouldn’t do in a scene, what feels wrong to have happen in a certain scene.
